00:00:00.000 Hello, Malcolm. I'm excited to be speaking with you today because there's a problem that people
00:00:06.020 don't want to admit is a problem, I think, but it's hard to tell because it's one of those
00:00:10.800 problems where if people talked about it, the problem would get out, but they don't want the
00:00:13.700 problem to exist. Let me set the scene for you, okay? In July 2024, a young lady in high school
00:00:20.180 logs on to our rape counseling on Reddit. It's a forum dedicated to providing an open forum
00:00:26.860 only for survivors and victims of sexualized violence across the spectrum.
00:00:31.420 After scrolling for a bit, she starts a new thread.
00:00:34.400 I was beeped by and nearly killed by someone that I helped at volunteering.
00:00:40.280 In this thread, she described how she was beeped for several hours
00:00:44.640 and nearly killed by, quote, one refugee guy, end quote.
00:00:48.760 And she had been helping this person weekly at a refugee support organization
00:00:53.380 and temporary accommodations.
00:00:55.400 she wrote about how she'd been assisting families and talking with them and their children and
00:01:01.320 helping with integration saying quote uncomfortable things happen from some guys end quote but
00:01:07.300 she continued because she felt that she was doing good and after the assault she she lost her
00:01:13.500 virginity you know she was a young lady she faced blame from some family and friends for volunteering
00:01:18.580 there in the first place and then questioned whether she had given the wrong signals or
00:01:22.840 dressed inappropriately relative to, quote, their culture and religion. And this is a post that got
00:01:29.540 very little interaction. I don't know if people immediately attacked her. I don't know what
00:01:33.960 happened, but she deleted it. And do we know this story is real? Do we know if she's a real person
00:01:40.120 at all? If this story, we know. Like, there's no way for us to know this, but it's kind of hard to
00:01:44.740 investigate a problem that could be real that's hitting people who don't want to admit the problem
00:01:50.180 is a problem because people who are going to work with in aid camps in in in refugee camps with
00:01:56.820 migrants are the same people who are like for context for people who might wonder where she's
00:02:02.600 going with this simone did deep research into the question because this came up what were we
00:02:08.040 researching where a similar question came up so someone emailed us um talking about the episode
00:02:12.420 we did on andrew tate and they're like oh yes this whole lauren southern problem look guys i 0.88
00:02:16.760 know that she's slept with other guys like what but it was it's it's counter to lauren southern's 1.00
00:02:22.320 reputation to say that she flew out and went to a club with a guy and then got beeped by him and 0.98
00:02:29.980 you know that's it's just it's very damaging to her reputation to do that because her whole 1.00
00:02:34.240 her whole reputation was staked on women being really stupid if they ever let that happen that 0.97
00:02:39.700 there's no such thing as rape culture in america etc etc and someone wrote to us and they're like 1.00
00:02:44.580 you know this is a similar problem with aid workers yeah and so the phone goes into and
00:02:49.380 she's like can i find uh data to show like this is happening with aid workers and it's not being
00:02:57.340 reported and a lot of it has to do with like the positive and negative space of it all like
00:03:01.140 organizations seem to be systematically under-reporting cases of rape to the extent
00:03:05.280 that like sometimes they just refuse to report it entirely not under-reporting what we'll be
00:03:10.700 getting to is a systemic and widespread cover-up of just how frequently aid workers are being
00:03:17.420 graped by the people they're attempting to help and of course the aid workers don't want to talk
00:03:21.280 about it and it is very interesting to now talk about this happening on a left-wing perspective
00:03:26.180 because the andrew tate situation was really interesting if there were actually people in 0.98
00:03:30.300 our comments who are so cucked they're like oh no i'm super pro like muslim immigrants graping
00:03:36.100 our women well but also attacking lauren southern they're like yeah like oh she did 0.98
00:03:41.400 but with destiny so she couldn't possibly have experienced actual sexual assault in her lifetime 0.54
00:03:49.740 i like i don't think it's wild to me because you have like tristan like literally gassing up a guy
00:03:56.440 for bragging about having a woman in his living in his garage um covered with like rats and
00:04:04.160 cockroaches on air conditioned garage with rats and cockroaches in texas right and and and tristan's
00:04:09.900 like oh that's so cool you know if he's singing that cool you know what they're doing like they're
00:04:14.760 they're signaling to you what they're they are openly talking about you know paying off the
00:04:19.320 police and stuff and but no that's i think this is 15 year old you know they literally grape on
00:04:24.040 camera and then people are like well if he had done this he would have been arrested and it's
00:04:28.600 like bro do you understand that's like a progressive who comes to you and goes the
00:04:32.580 grooming gangs aren't real if they were real they would have been arrested you are letting
00:04:38.820 your women be you are like i swear i think the guys who do this actually get off on being cut
00:04:43.540 like i think they actually get off on the fact that i think that are sleeping with their women 0.99
00:04:48.440 the bigger story in my opinion it's only ntr for these guys as soon as a guy comes in there be like
00:04:54.100 i got some ntr for you my friend because clearly that is what you are what i have to say is when
00:04:59.480 a person comes out quote unquote against the message of their own side right the attack that
00:05:06.340 they get is pretty ruthless it's it's pretty savage and i imagine that women possibly like
00:05:15.760 this high school woman who posted in 2024 about her experience on reddit and what was supposed
00:05:21.720 to be a safe place for victims gets completely steamrolled by people in the same way that lauren 0.99
00:05:27.580 southern was steamrolled by other right-leaning youtube watchers in our comments because her
00:05:33.520 narrative ran against the narrative of that political camp and so that's what we're going
00:05:39.800 to look at in this episode um we're going to look at the scant reporting the reporting that
00:05:45.620 does come out which is very conspicuous in what's being reported and it's not migrants
00:05:50.260 no no um and and then the most important part which is
00:05:57.580 what you see aid workers saying when they're just talking to each other in an informal way when they
00:06:02.980 don't think anyone is watching yeah because that's where you really i think see just just like oh
00:06:09.260 yeah this is normal you're gonna get great if you keep working here yeah well so we're gonna get
00:06:13.920 into it um and all of my all of my sources etc are linked in the show notes you can find on
00:06:18.700 sub stack or patreon and thanks so much for everyone who's supporting us there you guys
00:06:22.120 are amazing and also your episode ideas are great this is from one of you because you're so great
00:06:26.220 thank you i don't know we didn't get permission to name you so you know who you are you rock
00:06:30.040 anyway so let's talk about the reporting that's out there because when you look at the surface
00:06:34.020 of it when i started doing research on this i was like oh this is perfect there is this this
00:06:38.420 detailed record of all violent incidents that have happened to aid workers you know people are
00:06:43.320 very concerned about aid workers being in danger as they should be because these people are putting
00:06:46.960 their lives on the line to help others to protect them so naturally i can just go to this and get
00:06:52.540 all the numbers I need and either prove or disprove this concern I have. So there's this
00:06:59.360 aid worker security database, the AWSD, that has tracked major violent incidents against aid
00:07:04.400 workers since 1997. That's for almost 20 years. And it records its will. It allegedly, it says,
00:07:11.980 everyone says that they record rape or serious sexual assault as a category, right? So on the
00:07:18.520 surface, if you were to ask someone in this industry, ah, yes, we have a longstanding report
00:07:23.500 that tracks this information. Don't worry about it. I linked to their 2025 report in the show
00:07:28.340 notes, which shows you what you actually get these days. The report does not provide a number
00:07:33.580 of reported rapes in 2025. It's provisional mid-year figures report that roughly 230 aid
00:07:39.260 worker deaths happened through June 30th of 2025. But it doesn't publish a beep or a beep assault
00:07:46.820 total for that period so we just know some people died yeah we we're leaving we just didn't they
00:07:54.340 didn't get to the yeah they they have numbers for how many die during it but they don't have
00:07:59.240 numbers for how many it happens to we just we also don't know if people died after being beeped
00:08:05.560 but anyway the report doesn't it actually this the report states that beep is unreported it's
00:08:13.400 underreported i mean um but it doesn't give a reason for omitting the beep total um but they're
00:08:22.100 they're within the awsd's tracked incident categories it just happens to be that the
00:08:27.380 reports 2025 discussion and tables only present killings serious injuries kidnappings and arrests
00:08:33.680 and detentions not any separate beep violence count which is wild that they wouldn't include
00:08:40.120 that when you know it's common within these communities and that presume i mean well i know
00:08:45.000 actually know why it's not in there if it wasn't insanely high it would be in there i feel like i
00:08:51.040 mean you have to like what is what is the best there's no way nobody has i know like what i'm
00:08:58.380 just i'm trying to i'm trying to come up with a steel man here of like we're sitting in the
00:09:01.780 boardroom we're putting together the report we really want people to know these facts we have
00:09:06.260 the killing information we have the the kidnappings the detentions the the assaults the serious
00:09:11.180 injuries and then we get to the rape section and we're like okay it's because maybe it's because
00:09:17.740 like there's this super anti-woke contingent of the aid workers where they're like there is no 0.96
00:09:23.000 rape culture in aid work it's just this old me too nonsense it's gone too far these women were
00:09:30.220 asking no that that can't no that's not happening um no i i really think it just i chime in in the
00:09:39.140 comments if you some theory as to why they've just any any conceivable reason you would leave
00:09:45.080 because the whole you know me to backlash happening in aid worker world is not i'm not buying it for
00:09:52.180 some reason um it would be interesting but that would be its own story i would be delighted to
00:09:57.000 cover it if someone knows about it anyway the reports compilers explicitly flag under reporting
00:10:02.940 under reporting as a big problem in several contexts especially in sudan and with organizations
00:10:09.340 refusing to report incidents presumably because they're afraid that if they report incidents
00:10:14.940 of any sort right killings kidnappings etc then they'll just not receive funding anymore because
00:10:20.900 you know maybe they're like look they're not going to send aid workers to us if we tell them how many
00:10:25.620 people are like getting killed on the job so don't tell them don't tell them how bad it is we need
00:10:31.460 help um i i think that's that's pretty likely but they also have criteria that make many genuine
00:10:37.880 incidents just not get counted and i laughed out loud when i first found this um because if someone
00:10:43.980 was assaulted and not seriously injured it doesn't count what if you like show back let's show up with
00:10:51.700 like bruises like a swollen eye or whatever but like your arm isn't broken they're like 1.00
00:10:56.040 sweetie it's fine walk it off walk it off it happens with these somalians all the time 1.00
00:11:01.980 yeah dude means they just like a punch in the face and a hello yeah so to make the report uh 0.99
00:11:08.300 to make the list to be one of the it girls um you have to be subject to a killing serious injury 0.54
00:11:15.220 beep or sexual assault but no actually you're not going to make the list because they just
00:11:18.960 choose to not report that or kidnapping, arrest or detention, but only if it lasts more than 24
00:11:27.100 hours. So if you are, you know, someone throws a bag over your head, pulls you into a van,
00:11:34.200 beats you, but doesn't break anything, just roughs you up a little bit, you know, for like 18 hours,
00:11:40.220 you're deprived of food and water, you know, you're, you're, you're overheated somewhere.
00:11:44.980 then you're like dumped in a ditch and someone finds you congratulations you're not on the list
00:11:50.840 you're fine again walk it off okay okay so that kind of got me uh I thought that was really
00:11:58.040 interesting then what also was interesting to me is there are some prominent known cases um
00:12:04.700 but they were all about other aid workers being the perpetrators and I could see this possibly
00:12:12.360 being like from a practical perspective, like from a legal perspective, these organizations
00:12:18.560 have to report these cases due to like owners and officers liability insurance or like other
00:12:25.780 other legal things like from an HR perspective, you have to report and deal with your own employees
00:12:32.480 being the perpetrators of crimes. But anyway, in late 2014, Sarah Pierce, this is a pseudonym,
00:12:40.220 who is a U.S. aid worker with the Carter Center in remote South Sudan in a field site,
00:12:46.240 was beeped in her tent by an American colleague. She reported it the next day. And then after
00:12:51.280 speaking about the incident and criticizing the organization's support, her contract was not
00:12:55.580 renewed. And she described feeling like she was effectively punished. She got fired for being
00:13:00.820 graped? Oh, being graped and telling anyone about it. And telling someone. But it was an American 0.98
00:13:06.260 an aid worker and then the organization stated it provided medical care and counseling and then it 0.93
00:13:11.620 acted out of concern for her welfare so like they didn't want to renew the contract because she was
00:13:15.740 all sad after being attacked after being great you're supposed to be chill about it lady like 0.56
00:13:20.460 you're just supposed to like chill and don't come back because you're a bummer you're all crying all 0.99
00:13:26.740 the time don't you know we've all been raped in this office i know it's like geez just deal with 0.99
00:13:31.140 it. Stop bringing the mood down. But yeah, what's interesting about her case is I think that it 0.92
00:13:36.400 ultimately got the media coverage it did. And she was able to step forward and actually get people
00:13:41.560 to talk about it because it was an American aid worker. And it was someone from inside the
00:13:45.960 organization that did it. Also in February 2015, so one year later, a Canadian aid worker named
00:13:52.340 Megan Norbert was drugged. This is a drug cocktail, including morphine, codeine, oxycodone,
00:13:58.200 and cocaine i don't know why we're putting uppers and downers together um but anyway she was drugged
00:14:04.780 and beeped by a syrian unicef contractor colleague on a un base that was for the protection of
00:14:12.880 civilians at the site in benetue in south sudan um it was it was a refugee style camp setting but
00:14:19.020 she was she was beeped by a colleague who had given her stuff that made her completely walked
00:14:25.640 out um and she woke up naked and ill obviously with no memory of the assault but toxicology
00:14:31.780 confirmed the drugs and her organization in the u.n's response was described as dismissive there
00:14:36.940 was no meaningful investigation or accountability and norbert later went public and then founded
00:14:42.240 the report the abuse foundation or like organization to collect other testimonies but what's weird is
00:14:48.200 when i went to go look it up it was like alluded to in some other organization but for the life of
00:14:55.500 me i can't find it um that is wild that you can't find it recorded yeah like wait wait so what
00:15:01.480 happened to it you know she she wanted to get the word out you know just like that you know
00:15:07.960 20 year long report that annie really talks about these instances but
00:15:12.140 but god forbid it leaves them all out well yeah maybe they just they just print everything on
00:15:16.720 paper they don't i just haven't found it yet they don't want to provide more masturbation material 1.00
00:15:23.040 to andrew and tristan fans these guys are so into ntr of muslim guys raping white women 0.99
00:15:30.480 that they're like the more of that make them underage make them get beaten like the more of 0.99
00:15:36.540 that the better right like and so these organizations don't want to feed into their fantasies
00:15:40.940 yeah um i'm joking but if you don't know like how egregious the stuff that happened is you
00:15:46.700 can go watch that episode it's a there's a lot yeah and it's funny because there's some diehard
00:15:52.060 tate fans that are like well i'm gonna wait until the evidence comes out like sweetie they're like
00:15:57.940 grooming gang fans it's like sweetie it's worse because we had we have their own videos of them
00:16:03.420 saying this stuff yeah like the photos exist the the birth records like you you just put them 0.96
00:16:10.040 together and it's uh i love they're like the romanian why hasn't a court crime go to court 0.82
00:16:15.740 in romania and it's like we literally have them bragging about paying off the police yeah for 0.98
00:16:20.700 real like driving the police for if not the crime yeah oh my god anyway reasoning there are some 0.89
00:16:29.720 instances of of people being attacked that are just so egregious that it kind of can't not get
00:16:36.500 caught up by the media like in july 2016th the this hotel called the terrain hotel which was
00:16:43.660 a compound in juba south sudan it's always sudan um which was a site used by foreigners and aid
00:16:49.080 during the civil war was attacked um one like contingent i guess or i don't know if they were
00:16:57.760 whatever but a group of south sudanese government soldiers killed a local journalist looted the
00:17:04.160 compound and beeped several foreign women one of one of whom described being beeped by 15 soldiers 0.70
00:17:10.340 after being given the choice of sex or being beep raped oh sorry being gang beeped and shot
00:17:20.680 um so she made a logical choice but associated press interviews with eight survivors three of
00:17:26.700 whom described beep um and reporting by human rights watch and npr and the guardian documented
00:17:32.220 this attack because it was just so i guess striking that you can't not but i think maybe
00:17:38.780 another one of the reasons why this made the what it's made the media rounds and why people felt
00:17:42.560 like they could talk about it was this wasn't they weren't being attacked by the people that
00:17:46.460 they're trying to protect they were being attacked by just soldiers you know who were like the bad
00:17:52.320 guys in the civil war so like okay oh yeah the soldiers um that's wild yeah so anyway report
00:18:00.500 the abuse which was that organization founded by megan norbert who's the woman who was was beeped
00:18:06.280 by the Syrian UNICEF contractor, allegedly collected over a thousand self-reports from
00:18:11.760 aid workers, mostly international. Roughly 72% identified as survivors of sexual violence and
00:18:19.780 around 13% of reports involved beep in some analyses. 87% knew a colleague who had experienced
00:18:27.340 it. And perpetrators were, according to her analysis, frequently colleagues with one analysis
00:18:33.400 putting it at approximately 64% of cases. So a little more than half. And then another 2024
00:18:39.960 academic analysis of 62 public survivor testimonies found that 45 of 60 cases involved
00:18:47.000 assailants behavior being condoned by supervisors within the organization, which is a pattern that
00:18:52.960 also shows up when I got to comments from aid workers. They're like, look, the bosses just
00:18:57.720 don't really feel like no you shouldn't address that way 50 out of 54 out of 60 indicated that
00:19:04.200 no legal or even internal complaint process was pursued after the incident many victims were
00:19:09.500 isolated or received no meaningful support shame fear or career damage not being believed and
00:19:14.820 quote-unquote cowboy culture in remote field settings or repeatedly cited barriers so they
00:19:20.560 found the incidents most often and this this works also that's that 60-ish percent from the
00:19:26.880 other researcher, Megan Norbert's research, most often found colleagues, most, sorry, incidents
00:19:33.040 most often involved colleagues within the same organization. The next common alleged perpetrators
00:19:38.460 were staffed from other agencies, peacekeepers, or armed groups. And assaults by members of the
00:19:44.300 local population was described as the least common, which is interesting. When they talk about it,
00:19:51.160 I mean, I'm sure that it's really hard to talk about when it's from the local population. I
00:19:55.300 I think the underreporting there, when we see the cavalier-ness when it's another staff member do it,
00:20:00.540 I think that this cavalier-ness is bred by something.
00:20:03.040 And I think it's bred by it becoming normalized with it happening with the local population.
00:20:07.000 But you know you don't talk about it.
00:20:08.680 You've got to keep in mind how woke these people are, right?
00:20:10.900 Yeah, yes.
00:20:12.660 That's a really distinct thing within the comments.
00:20:16.140 And I'm going to read a bunch that you'll see among aid workers on Reddit.
00:20:20.580 They don't describe being afraid of their colleagues.
00:20:25.300 it's yeah so if these grapes are constantly happening from their colleagues but we're not
00:20:30.420 getting reports of grapes happening from the other people like the people they're working with but
00:20:34.760 the fear that they show is all towards the people that they're working with what that shows to me
00:20:39.000 is there is a systemic cover-up and i'm assuming that with most of these aid workers you know you
00:20:45.000 get them alone and you talk to them they're like yeah everybody knows that this is a major problem
00:20:48.180 and we work really hard to cover it up which you can see from the statistics the way that they're
00:20:53.380 reported well yeah the absence of statistics that's that's not the absence even when we have
00:20:59.220 statistics they're comical like we're not going to include an assault that would be an assault
00:21:02.760 under u.s or british or any european country's laws uh we only include assault if like broken
00:21:09.340 bones or something or it needed a hospital visit with the 24 hours is what really gets yeah the
00:21:14.160 24 hour uh kidnapping you were only kidnapped for 18 hours you were only kidnapped for 20 hours
00:21:21.220 That, to me, shows that they couldn't find a similar way of making grapes, like, hard to count, right?
00:21:33.540 Like, it was like, no matter how much you stretched, what an assault was.
00:21:37.660 Like, even, well, they had to have sex with you for at least an hour.
00:21:41.640 Even that didn't work, right?
00:21:44.020 Like, even that made it look bad, is what that tells me.
00:21:51.220 It's not great. But yeah, so let's look at the comments. So here's from one post on our Peace
00:21:58.360 Corps, because this is where people are the most open on Reddit, titled, It's Hard Being a Woman
00:22:04.400 in PC. That's the Peace Corps. Quote, this is OP. As I near the end of my two-year service, 1.00
00:22:11.140 I got to say, I'm proud of myself because being a woman volunteer in certain host countries is
00:22:16.280 freaking hard. I know male volunteers have their share of issues, but this post is for the women.
00:22:22.080 During my training, I feel my team did their best to educate me about the reality of being
00:22:26.580 a woman during service. They highlighted the helplines offered, the numbers of safety and
00:22:31.560 security, and the assurances of therapy should we need it in the future. And they warned us on how
00:22:37.860 the men acted differently than what we're used to. They even acted out scenarios and how to
00:22:42.880 approach them safely but guys i think it's impossible for us to fully be prepared even
00:22:48.100 with having the knowledge beforehand the hissing whistling and catcalling is a type of harassment
00:22:53.020 we're not used to in the united states yes we have our share of pervs but it's not normalized 1.00
00:22:57.280 while living in latin america i'm always on edge by the way latin america she's like doing this on
00:23:02.180 tame mode latin america latin america yeah please girl anyway we lived in latin america for years of
00:23:11.780 our lives um so like we are very familiar and i'm not like just one place i've i've lived in
00:23:17.860 costa rica i've lived in brazil i've lived in peru what people weren't you're not like a woman
00:23:24.900 wearing hot pants or something but i have worked with women in latin america i have worked with 0.76
00:23:29.580 you we had a home in latin america a house that we owned in peru yes so i walked to the streets
00:23:35.920 who is my wife you get some uh but it's really not that bad compared to most parts of the world
00:23:43.280 it's not that bad compared to even italy and spain italy yeah italy's more intense i will say 0.97
00:23:49.760 um but you know what's worse than italy what beijing oh because they'll just grab you um 0.96
00:23:58.580 which was surprising to me anyway um right uh let's see anyway uh la la la while serving in 0.84
00:24:08.520 latin america i'm always on edge waiting to be held at waiting to be approached by sleazy male
00:24:12.340 trying to hit on me i can't walk alone or do errands without men catcalling it bleeds into
00:24:16.740 my professional situations as well where counterparts teachers and community members
00:24:20.200 will proposition me during working hours most married with partners or with partners i need
00:24:26.080 to adapt because the reality is that it's a part of the culture. What I see is sexual harassment
00:24:30.720 isn't viewed the same way in my host country. Yet I somehow need to set my boundaries while
00:24:36.720 not alienating myself from my community. While I don't feel unsafe, it's simply an exhausting
00:24:41.740 obstacle I need to overcome daily. One person, oh, sorry, her final note. It can be challenging
00:24:50.300 because you don't want the actions of some to overshadow your whole experience as a volunteer,
00:24:55.120 but it can be so damn hard. When I went home for vacation, the tension wasn't there. It was
00:24:59.940 quiet. I could walk with my friends in peace, wear whatever I wanted, such as shorts. No men
00:25:05.500 tried to get my attention or block my path to flirt with me. I could wait in line for a meal
00:25:10.040 and not have a man ask for sex or a kiss on the lips in broken English. I felt like a human
00:25:14.900 instead of some object to be pursued as an American trophy or visa ticket. And the United
00:25:20.020 states is by no means perfect but there's privileges and i never realized i had during
00:25:25.260 service one thing that i kept thinking when i was reading these comments by the way is that like
00:25:30.080 really i would say over the top leftist feminism could really be corrected by more women traveling
00:25:36.520 to other countries and realizing that actually we live in a pretty gender egalitarian and respectful 0.54
00:25:41.500 culture and that maybe we don't think so many of the feminists i know had done that and they just
00:25:47.180 didn't learn anything from it oh they didn't take away anything in many cases it seemed to 0.99
00:25:55.640 they're like well i didn't get graped at that time therefore it's not common in these countries and
00:26:01.300 it's like they're just really blind often to how in danger they actually are in many circumstances
00:26:08.060 yeah yeah no this is true um and like people i think i did some things i've told you this story
00:26:16.880 way too many times but like there was one time when I was trying to get out of Changsha in China
00:26:21.460 to a much more remote place and I was just gonna go like alone into a train station and get a
00:26:27.160 ticket and figure it out and the taxi cab driver who I had told in like poorly translated ways
00:26:35.900 that I was I needed to go to the train station was so concerned about me going in there by myself
00:26:41.180 that he went in with me bought the ticket with me and then sat me in a place around a bunch of
00:26:47.280 families and was just like just because he understood how dangerous well you could have
00:26:52.380 gone through and nothing could have happened to you and then you think isn't rural china so safe
00:26:56.760 yeah no and that was my whole thing i was like wow this was just so amazing because a lot of 1.00
00:27:01.660 women are witless okay and they don't properly gauge things no it's true it's true it's true 1.00
00:27:07.320 yeah i mean because you're like they have to go to these countries and actually be essayed like 1.00
00:27:12.400 that's the only way they're gonna learn and even then they'll make up mistakes or excuses and be
00:27:17.620 like is it the way i was dressed it was i not appropriate for their culture because as we you
00:27:24.140 know we've looked at the studies that show that when a woman sees somebody who did something wrong
00:27:29.160 or cheated in a game being punished they feel bad whereas men only feel bad when they see somebody
00:27:34.440 being punished who didn't do anything wrong, where men feel good when they see the person
00:27:38.980 you cheat. And so, you know, a lot of these organizations are really staffed with women
00:27:42.360 or even women that are perceiving these things. They just, I just don't think they see it. I
00:27:47.420 don't think they process it. That might be true. One of the people who commented said it is 0.88
00:27:52.740 important to tell recruits to many, many countries, especially young, conventionally
00:27:59.740 attractive women who are only known to host communities through blue movies and perceived
00:28:05.960 to be loose. You will get catcalled, proposed to, hit on, touched inappropriately on a daily basis 1.00
00:28:12.560 by multiple men. Sometimes those men will be in your community and it's difficult to navigate.
00:28:17.480 Sometimes you're in a good mood and can laugh it off and everyone thinks the joke is funny.
00:28:21.480 And some days it's the 10th proposal of the day and you're just done with the dehumanization
00:28:27.020 and interactions. Sometimes you will upset a drunkard by saying no, and he may become violent.
00:28:32.920 Here's how to stay safe. Sometimes the threat will come from inside the host family. Multiple
00:28:37.020 volunteers I know had host relatives overtly state, I will beep you. You may be stalked to
00:28:44.320 the point of needing to leave your site. You must always dress on the side of conservative.
00:28:48.920 You must strictly follow the rules of host country when it comes to men crossing the threshold of
00:28:53.760 your doorway inviting someone inside equals an invitation for sex in my host country that's
00:28:59.380 scary what those countries are even having an older male friend or your counterpart sit on 0.97
00:29:04.640 your porch and talk to you can start rumors that you're having an affair i know so so many female
00:29:10.280 volunteers who are beeped stalked or had to leave their site due to threat of beep um others i love 0.98
00:29:18.060 that they're talking about like everybody knows everybody's about to be raped on these sites and
00:29:22.740 And yet it's not reported or recorded in any data.
00:29:26.260 That's that's what's wild.
00:29:27.460 Others, bizarrely, seem to live in the same country in the same time without these issues that the rest of us had.
00:29:34.260 Which is interesting.
00:29:36.360 Another person said, oh, yeah.
00:29:38.600 I think that a lot of people from these countries and stuff like this, you know, they see you as a foreigner and outsider.
00:29:44.000 So they see you as less able to do anything and you are less able to do anything.
00:29:48.760 You know, the other women, if they get graped, their brother, they're going to come out and he murdered them. 0.96
00:29:52.740 That's true. Yeah. And who's going to come and get you? Yeah.
00:29:55.140 Who cares about you? Nobody cares about you.
00:29:57.580 You've been left behind. 0.68
00:29:58.640 This is the thing that gets me about the women being afraid of this, even in Latin America.
00:30:01.860 It's like, well, then shouldn't we think again about like Latin American immigration waves? 0.99
00:30:05.820 Right. Like, shouldn't we be saying something more about that?
00:30:08.740 If if you a lot of Americans are very afraid of Latin American immigration waves.
00:30:13.880 And there have been some very prominent cases of assault that are associated with that.
00:30:20.500 so that's i would say the conversation is being had but not by these aid workers not by people
00:30:27.100 who would choose to do this another person wrote i totally hear you i served in west africa and my
00:30:32.840 sight mate was beeped because she gave her counterpart an old computer which apparently 0.97
00:30:37.860 in west africa means you perv that beeped her can have sex with me unconscious volunteer whenever 0.97
00:30:44.200 you want even when i volunteer and passed out of sleep there was another vol in my community that 0.98
00:30:49.940 was beeped from what i understand by multiple people while traveling to her regional capital
00:30:54.780 she was based in a really remote part of the province and had to travel overnight to get to 0.98
00:30:59.720 her banking city apparently traveling in a car by night is also a welcome invitation to sex 0.62
00:31:06.900 pc's response meh you rape victim really shouldn't have traveled by yourself at night that's on you 0.98
00:31:14.080 um so i think a lot of people after being raped multiple times and the head of the department 0.84
00:31:20.400 this is why it's not being recorded they literally do not yeah they're like that was your fault we
00:31:25.960 warned you this happens all the time see this pathologicalization where it's very obvious that
00:31:31.600 andrew and tristan constantly rape people and it was in our side there's people who literally be
00:31:36.400 like yeah i mean i know they joking and they they they brag about it all the time but like whatever
00:31:42.600 it's not a big deal like right but those same people would be like yes exactly to this episode
00:31:48.680 yes all these people are being beeped by migrants and by people in these foreign countries so like
00:31:55.320 the thing is and you know again the people that i heard on social media talking about lauren
00:32:00.860 southern's case with empathy were leftists and i think that's a really screwed up issue you know
00:32:06.660 if people are attacking other people i don't care who they are i want to i want to be clear
00:32:10.720 in our comments on our discord 99.5 percent of the comments were mortified and thought this was
00:32:18.840 stupid i i i i i don't mean go for i was just shocked to see i would say eight point like nine 0.76
00:32:24.540 eight i i come from lauren southern yeah it might be like i saw like i wouldn't believe a word she 0.98
00:32:30.040 said she slept with destiny there yeah out of like two thousand comments i saw like five or six
00:32:35.640 people who who took this position so i would point out within the right this type of behavior is not
00:32:42.740 as normalized as it is within the left it is a minority amount of voices an extreme minority
00:32:50.200 amount of voices and most everyone else thinks they're weird ntr fetishes um right like the the
00:32:56.720 most of the community is like you that that's that is a weird thing to say like it is it is 0.80
00:33:01.520 gross that you are defending like a foreigner graping your women for no re like the evidence 0.52
00:33:08.200 is overwhelming at this point and it's delivered from them but it's the same thing that we're
00:33:13.600 seeing here um i think the difference is within any faction left or right you're gonna have people
00:33:20.060 who just deny reality or say no it's totally okay that those women get graved the problem is is that
00:33:25.140 those people have control of leftist culture those people are the majority of leftist culture
00:33:30.180 right um that that's the norm on the left right now and uh that is where i think you get these
00:33:40.120 problems because we talk to these leftists and they go oh well you have this problem on the right
00:33:43.180 and i'm like yeah but it's the extreme minority on the right it's the majority and people with
00:33:47.660 positions of power on the left and we're seeing this oh you go you went in a car at night you
00:33:52.160 deserved it uh you obviously oh you went to a club with him you deserve to get drugged you know
00:33:57.900 uh it's it's this um uh yeah i mean i i think i think that the fortunate thing is that we're
00:34:07.400 moving in the right direction on our side and they're not even like not moving in the right
00:34:10.940 direction they're hiding that the problem exists at all oh yeah and there's more look and it's not
00:34:16.280 even just um violence that is sexual in nature the same person went on to say i've also lived
00:34:21.760 all over west africa and have my share of pc again that's peace corps horror stories i was a teacher
00:34:27.320 at my village high school and the head of discipline beat a student 13 year old girl to 0.99
00:34:32.420 death i went to pc about it and my pm essentially told me to stop being a pussy and suck it up i 0.99
00:34:38.600 still have nightmares about it it was this was 12 years ago in another instance a principal at my 0.99
00:34:43.320 school same school where another admin killed the student threatened to beat me to death because he
00:34:48.180 found out i was bisexual luckily pc took that seriously and got me out all that to say there
00:34:54.640 are a lot of challenges that come with serving no matter where you serve. And a lot of them stem
00:34:59.120 from some pretty disturbing misogyny. That's not misogyny. That's Islam. Okay, people like how do
00:35:07.280 you what is I don't know. I don't know. It's West Africa. It's not like pervasively Islamic. So I
00:35:12.920 just I don't know. Anyway, another person said, great post when I was in service, also in a Latin
00:35:17.560 American country, again, on easy mode. We filled out a sexual harassment survey every year. I
00:35:22.940 thought, is this a joke? I was, it was the highest possible amount. I can't remember what it was
00:35:27.360 explicitly exactly 10 plus harassments a day for every single question. I was propositioned by the
00:35:33.060 highest local elected official in my house site regularly. I had men follow me to my house at
00:35:37.620 night. PCBs called it the ice bitch stare, but that is what you had to do as a woman when going 1.00
00:35:43.280 out alone during training. The only comment they made on it was for guys to walk the girls around 1.00
00:35:49.860 whenever we were out together no self-defense classes or coping mechanisms or support groups
00:35:54.820 offered it was the worst i had to compartmentalize because there were so many amazing adventures and
00:36:00.360 people i met that i loved but after returning to the u.s it took as long as my service was to get
00:36:05.740 back to normal which for me was having a male talk to me in public and not instantly thinking
00:36:11.080 why tf are you talking to me that i did extend my service when given the chance i know girls who
00:36:16.600 left early because of it though the biggest flaw in the system was that there are practical
00:36:20.860 trainings and support pc could have given but instead they just chose to ignore it and informally
00:36:25.900 tell male volunteers this is what i'm talking about simone you're like oh if women just
00:36:30.880 experience these cultures they would change their mind about them and you're seeing this woman is
00:36:35.540 putting literally none of the blame that's true she extended her service and is like i had a
00:36:40.600 terrible experience and it took me as long as my she's like the problem is that the training isn't
00:36:45.060 good enough uh yeah she literally at no point reflects on should we actually be helping these
00:36:52.380 people like she's blaming the um she's blaming her organization she's blaming the peace corps
00:36:59.860 more than she's blaming the the culture but i think so you're gonna see this throughout the
00:37:04.640 posts here as as i read some more what's really deep and inherent in a lot of this it's a theme
00:37:10.980 that we may just do our own podcast on is that, uh, like immigration support, migrant support,
00:37:21.860 um, asylum support, bring everyone in is imperialism, colonialism 2.0. It is, we are
00:37:31.060 going to bring these savage, dumb people into modernity. You know, they have, they don't, 1.00
00:37:37.860 they they're they're sort of non-entities now that we are going to civilize um and their agency
00:37:44.720 means nothing now but we'll fix them by bringing our culture to them and and integrating them
00:37:50.820 into our culture all seemingly while actually not imposing any form of integration it's very
00:37:56.000 weird but i do the the way that the the actual misogyny mistreatment of women whatever you want
00:38:03.760 to call it like Islam of it all is discussed in this context is not even like they don't discuss
00:38:10.180 it as a problem they're not like this culture is pretty messed up like what's going on with 0.90
00:38:13.980 these people because of course they'd immediately be defenestrated for it but within that subtext
00:38:19.740 is this basically implicit understanding that don't worry that that's kind of a non-issue 0.99
00:38:24.840 because the whole point is our work is to civilize them and that will make them like the bisexuals 0.73
00:38:31.880 incredibly imperialistic um and is is surprisingly reflective of some older accounts that you'll see 0.79
00:38:40.140 from early like victorian imperialists who talk about being attacked by locals and everything and
00:38:48.400 it's it's a it's a different kind of like but we're here to civilize them like this is the
00:38:53.100 important work we have to do um we're going to yeah anyway it's it's the their culture isn't 0.99
00:39:00.460 even worth criticizing um because it's so stupid and backward we're just going to like train these 0.99
00:39:05.880 animals to do the right tricks that we will approve of eventually right like it's a very 0.99
00:39:10.120 ultimately dehumanizing view of the people they've gone to help because they're not even talking about
00:39:15.640 it they're not even like they don't care they don't have moral agency in these people's minds
00:39:19.540 they they are right people are choosing to harass them and attack them and hurt them they're like
00:39:26.000 no no no it's it's the fault that i wasn't trained by my own people enough it's their fault it's not
00:39:30.800 the fault of these savages because my whole point is to come out here anyway but what's wild to me 0.65
00:39:35.360 is you hear these stories that make it seem like it's the most normal everyday thing in these
00:39:39.460 countries and it's not recorded it's not and it's not recorded yeah no so another one i was a
00:39:44.240 volunteer in lesotho as well and one of our volunteers was beeped it's difficult even with
00:39:48.760 all the awareness training to protect yourself often volunteers are assigned to places that are
00:39:52.320 remote. And because they are from somewhere else, they can be seen as easy targets, just like you
00:39:56.660 said, Malcolm. But even in the cities, they can be at risk. Also, American women are sometimes
00:40:00.740 viewed as loose by other cultures. Another person said, you vocalize this in a way I haven't been 1.00
00:40:06.060 able to before. I remember feeling so at peace when I visited my friend because I could just
00:40:09.780 disappear into a crowd. The silence nourished my soul. I didn't have my radar on all the time,
00:40:14.800 which is exhausting. I remember arriving to my community during the holidays and couldn't do it.
00:40:19.320 I stayed inside for like 12 days straight because I couldn't handle the constant interaction.
00:40:23.700 I walked to and from work and men would grab me, follow me, the marriage proposals.
00:40:28.500 I never found a great way to deal with that if I'm being totally honest. 0.79
00:40:32.520 Another person said in East Africa, it's this bad for female volunteers as well.
00:40:36.620 At times I felt a sense of guilt for not being the best volunteer.
00:40:40.020 As always, I feel hesitant to socialize in my community and I'm in constant state of
00:40:44.340 distrust.
00:40:44.860 I find myself always being cold to men in my country, which is sad, but also necessary in
00:40:49.380 many circumstances. I can come across as rude to my work colleagues because of this distrust of men,
00:40:54.080 and it sucks to feel misunderstood. I feel sad for women in my community who constantly get
00:40:58.760 heckled and looked down on with no ability of fighting back or speaking out. As female
00:41:03.060 volunteers, we're simply told to ignore, ignore, ignore, even if men are shouting the most 0.97
00:41:06.660 disgusting comments or racial slurs at us. And this is absolutely infuriating. One was interesting
00:41:11.700 because this is um this is coming from a self-described butch lesbian who despite like 1.00
00:41:18.840 doing everything she can to style herself in a way that she's like oh like i won't get harassed at 0.56
00:41:24.660 all um it's no dice um she's writing to other fellow peace corps people on reddit i only have
00:41:33.880 eight months till cos i think that's cease of contract or something but i don't know if i can
00:41:38.680 make it guys. I'm a lesbian and my appearance is kind of butch and I don't know if that makes it
00:41:42.700 better or worse, but the sexual harassment in my country is just too much. Staff thinks I'm making 0.95
00:41:47.300 it up and are blaming me for choosing to make myself stick out when I don't even think my
00:41:51.840 butchness is what's attracting attention. I'm not even that extreme, no buzz cut or chest biting.
00:41:56.660 I just had a horrible experience in the Capitol yesterday where a man on the street cornered me 0.99
00:42:01.880 and after a short attempt of me trying to get away, flashed his erected dick at me. I really 1.00
00:42:07.280 hate it. I just want to go home. My site has no electricity or service. So I'm really isolated
00:42:11.380 and haven't been able to commiserate with anyone. Can anyone even talk to me about it? The women
00:42:15.480 here are so great. I'd hate to abandon them. And I do love my job, but it's affecting my mental 1.00
00:42:20.200 health to the point where I don't want to leave my house. Oh, the women here, the women here are 1.00
00:42:25.640 fine. The women here raise them in there. It's true. She noted in a follow-up comment, 0.97
00:42:31.760 I haven't had a safety issue personally, but other women in my cohort absolutely have. And 0.89
00:42:35.380 it's terrifying. I'm paranoid now and paid to have metal bars installed on my windows
00:42:40.240 after a few violent robberies occurred at my site, not directed toward me. Can you imagine
00:42:46.000 you're in the Peace Corps? People are building, like breaking into your building so much that 0.50
00:42:50.680 you're paying to have iron bars put on your window to like bar yourself in. That is wild.
00:42:56.780 And ironically, in this thread, which I've linked to again from the show notes, you can see it for
00:43:00.360 yourself most women are telling her to tough it out they're like no stay i i had that moment too
00:43:06.560 just stay you know how are you going to feel you know when people ask you about your time in the
00:43:11.400 peace corps and you say you left early one you never have to say you left early you just served
00:43:14.900 in the peace corps no one cares how long you did it military i know it's not like a college where 0.67
00:43:19.520 you get a degree dishonorably discharged i know for the great anyway they're like no girl like
00:43:25.020 you had to put bars on your room just to feel safe at night you still don't feel safe but
00:43:29.220 tough it out one person says in her in her comments there seems to be a common thread in a
00:43:35.260 lot of these harassment situations where pc staff is not treating the volunteers issues with the
00:43:40.080 importance that they deserve obviously that's not going to change in the next eight months so i will
00:43:44.080 just share my frustration and dismay that they're being so disrespectful again the problem is not
00:43:48.760 the locals the problem is just the staff well the staff has learned to not care the locals do it to
00:43:55.740 you it doesn't matter because you don't matter well and also because you're the colonizer and 0.88
00:44:02.060 they're the savage and well and that's the way these women and the reality is is these women 1.00
00:44:06.320 who are having these bitch outs right that they you know that the moment you know that this is 0.99
00:44:14.240 exactly how they feel about the women who were raped by like rape gangs in britain and stuff 0.99
00:44:18.280 like that if if it was brought to them that some refugee raped someone in britain or something like
00:44:24.640 that they wouldn't care they'd be like oh i hope that community's okay that young woman that young
00:44:29.660 high schooler that i mentioned at the top ultimately took her post down people being like
00:44:34.220 yeah they're feeding their other women to these people already you know it's screwed up 0.52
00:44:41.680 it's screwed the the but the dual nature of the screwed up business is that they are one 0.87
00:44:47.800 serving themselves up to victimization i guess two learning nothing from it but three 0.82
00:44:52.760 taking this very dehumanizing approach
00:44:57.280 to the very people who are attacking them.
00:45:01.580 And I don't know what to think of it.
00:45:03.620 I guess I was just thinking about that guy
00:45:05.540 who like went out to Alaska or whatever
00:45:07.840 to live with the bears and then the bears ate him.
00:45:12.140 And just being like, they were bears.
00:45:17.500 But I think he was humanizing the bears
00:45:19.260 and I think they're dehumanizing the men.
00:45:21.220 yeah it's just like the recurring theme the bears anyway continue that's that's it i'm fed up um
00:45:31.640 i'm fed up too i'm fed up we gotta shut down aid work i think the whole idea is silly it doesn't
00:45:36.760 it makes things worse it's mostly let me let me be clear that that that aid report that neglected
00:45:42.920 to put in the RAPE stats for the year was like oh it's all because of USAID funding being cut
00:45:52.640 not not that not why they left the beep out but like oh this came up for a different episode that
00:45:58.960 we're gonna do where in many places like in Egypt where we have good numbers after the USAID money
00:46:03.480 was cut the death rate dropped um and in the regions where the death rate appears to have
00:46:09.220 increase there were active conflicts um uh like ig genocides going on yeah um that weren't going
00:46:16.040 on before the usa cut and it's like wait did cutting usa to make things better in these
00:46:20.720 countries like all of these uh like i remember like effective altruist types were like think
00:46:26.100 of all the people who will die oh yeah yeah and then it didn't fucking happen and i'm like okay
00:46:31.280 okay people so like this was all fake right what these organizations fundamentally are 0.98
00:46:38.380 is they are a way for white rich women to jack themselves off uh to feel cool about themselves 1.00
00:46:44.700 to feel like they've done something meaningful to have something to do after college because 1.00
00:46:48.020 they're lazy to start their real life um and they don't want to take responsibility for their real
00:46:52.440 life um and i i think that fundamentally like if i could i would shut down almost every aid
00:46:58.980 organization i think that they are hugely deleterious to the world um and they don't
00:47:05.940 you don't need that you you what these people and you see this from the way that they're going
00:47:10.100 in they're going in and they're trying to get these places to be more like where they are it's
00:47:14.840 it's the modern colonization wave if you are against colonization you are against these orgs
00:47:20.680 because that's fundamentally what their end goal often is is to make these places culturally more
00:47:26.300 like our place yeah and that's why that's why they don't mention that the problem is the culture
00:47:31.700 because implicitly they expect to change the plan is culturally ratio so it doesn't matter
00:47:35.760 yeah yeah that's why the culture doesn't matter because they don't want to preserve the culture
00:47:40.560 they don't respect the culture they want it gone erased yeah it doesn't sit none of this it's well
00:47:47.720 with me i anyway but i i'm glad that someone had me look into it because i guess i should have
00:47:52.760 figured it'd be a problem but what shocked me was how little people were talking about it in the end
00:47:58.040 uh so there you go well not not a lot of motivation to go on the left
00:48:03.740 yeah i mean i wouldn't be surprised if the numbers are there somewhere if somebody has
00:48:09.780 these numbers although i mean presumably the people who made like that annual report
00:48:15.020 um that they they have the numbers they just chose to not publish them um and they might not
00:48:22.140 the aid worker security database no they've got to have no i mean here's why i don't think they
00:48:27.160 have the numbers the um the pc who said uh to the one girl you know when she was raped five times
00:48:33.760 in one trip to the capital in her car i don't know that it wasn't five yes it was um and she's
00:48:40.620 like oh he was just like don't do it don't go uh don't don't do the trips um that is not somebody
00:48:47.660 who's taking down records of what happened that's somebody who's just like oh yeah whatever you 1.00
00:48:52.380 idiot white girls she was based in a really remote part of the province and had to travel overnight 1.00
00:48:56.740 to do her banking study. 1.00
00:48:58.220 Apparently traveling in a car by night 0.99
00:48:59.600 is also a welcome invitation to sex.
00:49:03.920 Yeah, and then, is that the whole thing?
00:49:05.700 Yeah, then the PC's response was,
00:49:09.280 the Peace Corps' response was, 0.99
00:49:10.520 meh, you, rape victim, 0.94
00:49:11.880 really shouldn't, 0.97
00:49:12.600 should not have traveled by yourself at night.
00:49:16.120 Yeah.
00:49:18.600 But you were thinking about the earlier example.
00:49:21.440 There was another volunteer in my country
00:49:23.120 that was raped, sorry, 0.68
00:49:24.800 beeped from what I understand 0.91
00:49:26.400 by multiple people while traveling to a regional capital so you're thinking of that one oh yeah
00:49:31.400 that's what i was thinking of i thought that that's what she was okay oh never mind sorry
00:49:35.060 sorry sorry i i read it wrong again i'm on like ambient hormonally um so i was right yeah you
00:49:41.880 were right i'm sorry well it wasn't five it was multiple that could be anything i don't know what
00:49:45.920 multiple means i mean it means three or more minimum three um anyway love you i love you too
00:49:53.500 I'm glad you're not an aid worker and you were never seduced by that nonsense. 0.99
00:49:57.660 You went to help fucking turtles. 0.99
00:50:01.440 I can't believe my, so I'm 13 years old, right? 1.00
00:50:04.400 13 years old.
00:50:05.960 And I just tell this like turtle refuge thing, this eco center in the city of Acumal in the
00:50:14.500 Yocatan Peninsula of Mexico, like, hello, I would like to volunteer for a month with
00:50:19.200 your organization.
00:50:20.500 And they said, okay, that would be great.
00:50:22.380 and so I show up and I am the only minor there and it is that happened to me too yeah but I was
00:50:30.900 it's good it's good when I was in Costa Rica and Brazil and I was working for those scientists I
00:50:34.720 was the only minor everyone else was an adult and I was sleeping in a co-ed dorm with a cold water
00:50:39.900 shower um and it was delightful and everyone was so nice to me and there was this one New Zealand
00:50:47.360 couple of i think it was alicia and nick and nick um painted me a studio ghibli painting um that was
00:50:54.660 really sweet that i think i still i still have i treasure it it's of chihiro looking angry in the
00:50:59.380 forest before her parents go in she's so mad about them exploring something spooky and they were all
00:51:05.240 really sweet there was there were the italians who i i saw i love that both of you and i were
00:51:10.600 precocious about like early like no one no one ever attacked me not once but there was this one
00:51:16.420 it was so funny actually yeah there were the Italian guys there was this one older man who
00:51:20.000 had a CPAP machine like it was everything there was this one woman and I actually had an argument 1.00
00:51:24.380 with her and I just I really she was the one I didn't like and she was one of the two female 0.99
00:51:30.040 American biology college students and she was like you can't just go into the city like you'll be
00:51:35.960 attacked people are attacked although I'm like no one no one beeps anyone like that never happens
00:51:42.240 she's like, what are you talking about? And I remember getting like, actually mad at her
00:51:46.680 13 year old me growing up from like, from my progressive background. She's actually trying
00:51:51.860 to help you. She was trying to help me. And I'm sitting there. I remember how pissed I was at her.
00:51:56.300 I was like, what is, who is this delusional backward woman who thinks that everyone's out 1.00
00:52:01.560 to get her? You know, and here I am wandering around my little 13 year old self, my little 1.00
00:52:06.040 13 year old bikini, just being like, I'm just being in my co-ed dorm with my,
00:52:12.240 whatever like walking around oh my god you are so lucky you made it through all but that's the
00:52:18.460 culture and at least I can relate to it right like I I can remember the anger I felt when someone
00:52:24.540 tried to explain to me you want to go to Africa the land of rapists yeah like you're not safe
00:52:33.100 um this is not good like you were I'm worried about everyone took such good care of me though
00:52:39.040 like i think that's what's really inspiring like the flip side of this is it i probably was an
00:52:45.340 incredibly dangerous times like so many it's so many points in my childhood and and young
00:52:50.500 adulthood is a single woman traveling solo however people constantly protected me well we we rescued
00:52:57.900 you from all that nonsense but me and the base camp listeners so thank you well also like to
00:53:02.520 everyone out there who has seen a young foolish girl girl like out there traveling and you're like
00:53:07.920 oh I don't know she should and you stepped in on behalf of my younger self and all of these young
00:53:13.980 women thank you for all those people who convinced a young woman to actually just maybe not volunteer
00:53:19.760 for the peace corps in a dangerous country thank you um they're gonna be mad at you I was mad at
00:53:27.520 you I'm so sorry thank you okay Simone out love you Malcolm I love you too did you know by the way
00:53:35.320 people are putting a lot of requests for are discussing the zoroastrian heaven
00:53:40.440 yeah they're like do zoroastrianism do that i remember zoroastrianism being pretty chill
00:53:47.820 the last time i looked into it like there's a reason why i included it in my canon of
00:53:52.380 true and divine inspired religions oh yeah well we'll have to maybe we'll have to check
00:54:01.660 maybe it ain't so chill maybe it is chill and people are saying check it out because it's so
00:54:07.420 awesome there is only one way my friend we're going to find out but what's disappointing for 0.65
00:54:13.880 me is i have not seen many answers there was one one um ex-muslim woman who deconverted i'm glad
00:54:23.260 she did yay um because she wasn't having it uh this this stuff but i we didn't hear from anyone 1.00
00:54:30.480 This particular stuff, she was like, I did not want the Sister Wives.
00:54:34.500 Or her words.
00:54:36.020 Sorry, I just closed that window.
00:54:37.860 What a silly thing for me to do.
00:54:39.780 I also gave you the Twitter video if you haven't put it up.
00:54:42.260 Oh, no, I got desperate and downloaded the Substack video so it's lower quality.
00:54:46.020 But when I wait this late, either like if I don't get it before 11, basically,
00:54:52.080 it sometimes just never goes up until the next day and I don't want to make people wait.
00:54:55.600 So if there's a way I can help with that, that would be.
00:55:00.480 That would be good because I feel she deconverted and it's messed up and I appreciated that.
00:55:09.200 Sorry.
00:55:11.780 Look, I'm basically on permanent Ambien for the next four weeks.
00:55:17.700 Due to the stage of the pregnancy.
00:55:19.480 Yeah, you're going to have to put up with this a lot.
00:55:21.980 If it's not right in front of my eyes, I am not going to recall anything, which also means you really have to stick with the marriage contract rule of like,
00:55:30.480 if it did not get emailed, it never happened.
00:55:34.020 The request was never made of me.
00:55:36.060 I have no idea.
00:55:37.640 I really don't want dinner because I ate lunch.
00:55:40.340 Okay, I understand.
00:55:42.380 This is the problem of how do people who eat out every day
00:55:46.100 get through all their leftovers?
00:55:49.220 Because you get full from eating out.
00:55:50.160 Yeah, because I've got to get to the leftovers next.
00:55:52.980 Yeah, and there's still the really good steak that I thought out for you.
00:55:55.380 Then the thought steak, I know, Simone.
00:55:57.540 No, it's very stressful.
00:55:58.440 this is very stressful because we can't let any food go to waste and that that would be a crime
00:56:03.380 i will eat them each in turn
00:56:08.400 stop stressing out well you will i yeah okay all right okay um you ready i can start us off we'll
00:56:18.880 go we'll do this sure okay okay okay just as a note we edited this with the org fab editing
00:56:26.780 softwares. If you see any problems, let us know because I am testing to see if I need to fix them.
00:56:31.700 If you want to try rfab.ai for anything, I suggest it. We've recently done some major updates

00:57:45.580 These are our real eggs. 0.86
00:57:48.580 Yeah, those are fake eggs.
00:57:49.880 They're decoy eggs.
00:57:51.380 They're decoy eggs.
00:57:53.180 Do you like them?
00:57:53.940 We don't want our flowers.
00:57:56.680 Yeah, they're like toys.
00:57:58.480 Because they're fake eggs that were dried on our feet.
