00:11:02.280 Now, by the time he was 17, he had lived in 17 homes and attended 14 schools.

00:11:07.720 He was involved with drugs, fights, and theft in high school.

00:11:10.980 He regularly tells a story about the abuse that he endured at the hands of his stepfather,

00:11:20.220 But his stepfather's real name was Gloyce Dean Kennedy.

00:11:24.980 And his stepfather served in the Army and did counterintelligence.

00:11:30.080 And thereafter, he ran an international drug smuggling ring out of Jamaica, for which he eventually pled guilty and was convicted of conspiracy in 1987 for attempting to import 1,400 pounds of marijuana from Jamaica.

00:11:47.240 Also charges which included money laundering, aiding and abetting.

00:11:51.520 He was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

00:11:53.780 OK, Victor's brother, Mike Kennedy, who would go on to become an attorney, also pled guilty as the co-conspirator in that drug trafficking ring.

00:12:06.060 He took a plea deal, so he only served a year and a day in exchange for testifying against his stepfather, Gloyce.

00:12:13.820 What about his biological dad? Victor Marx's biological dad was apparently cut from the same cloth.

00:14:19.140 Now, to be clear, the part that you didn't hear is he says that his dad invited this man over to abuse him,

00:14:27.020 But then right after the story, when he slaps him in the face,

00:14:30.180 he says that's the last time his stepfather ever abused him.

00:14:33.120 So that ended the abuse from his stepfather.

00:14:36.000 Now, in case you're wondering what happened to the body of that guy,

00:14:40.220 Victor says that they dug up, put it under the house.

00:14:44.540 They went somewhere, dug it up, put it in the backyard somewhere.

00:14:48.640 But 40 years later, he had a guilty conscience about it, obviously, when he was an adult.

00:14:52.320 And he walked into a police station and told the police they had killed this guy and kind of buried him in the backyard.

00:14:58.880 But that particular police officer was like, oh, it's OK.

00:15:12.860 I think it would be fair for us to suggest that growing up in this particular environment, Victor Marks might have learned a thing or two about moving illegal product across borders. Is that a fair assessment, right? Kids, you grow up, you see what your parents do, you might learn a thing or two.

00:31:51.920 barely skimping by financially as there is not much margin and a lot of risk in manufacturing

00:32:02.240 wanting to sell this company. They're cash strapped. They're willing to make this deal

00:32:05.520 with Victor Marx on essentially two conditions. The first is that the guns are going to be used

00:32:10.080 for school resource officers. They wanted school security to be the primary and permanent mission.

00:32:15.040 The second is that they wanted to have enough money, but they agreed to sell the company that it would be enough money that they would no longer have to work.

00:32:26.780 He tells us that as the stress of this had built up on my wife and I, I drove to Mr. Marks's house to discuss both personal and business related matters.

00:35:33.360 that was being built behind his house, which included a large underground bunker and a front

00:35:38.640 facing firearm port built into the concrete structure and an indoor shooting range. He

00:35:44.600 stated that the intention of the complex would be used for spiritual retooling of traumatized

00:35:51.080 officers who worked child sex trafficking cases in partnership with local, state, and federal

00:35:57.780 agencies, and was going to be exclusively funded by donors. Days after I left his residence,

00:36:03.980 we continued our conversations in a different tone. He continued on telling me that there is

00:36:08.740 no longer a need for fold AR in schools. He cited some school shooting data statistics in error.

00:38:57.440 what that means. What does an ATF trace on a gun? Why do they do that? What does it mean?

00:39:09.540 They're involved, got involved in this case quickly, as we know, came back with the inconclusive trace on the Tyler Robinson gun.

00:39:19.540 And when they are doing a trace, when they email you and say that they are conducting a trace, what it means is that they are seeking to identify the first retail purchase of a firearm that they have determined is involved in a crime.

00:39:36.520 On the morning of Charlie's assassination, they reached out to Corby, effectively saying, this gun is involved in a crime, and you are the manufacturer, and we'd like to know where you sent it.
