00:01:12.440 getting into the third trimester and that is just such a blessing. So let's get into today's video.

00:01:20.040 So first of all, this is what my bump looks like. I'm going to kind of insert a clip here of what it

00:01:26.840 looks like. It feels so big to me. I'm sure it's going to feel not big at all in a few weeks,

00:01:33.700 but it is so fun to like have a bump, not wonder whether it's bloating or anything else. It is just

00:01:41.640 this is the bump and you can definitely know that the baby's in there because I feel him move

00:01:47.360 all the time and it is the best thing ever. Like it lives up to the hype. Baby kicks live up to the

00:01:54.920 hype. It's just the best thing and I'm going to get more into that. But before we continue, I want

00:01:59.640 to tell you where the baby is at in his development. So first of all, this is my Pregnancy Plus app

00:02:15.220 As you can see, sorry, I know it's getting weird lines across it. I don't know why it does that, but

00:02:19.920 it really is an incredible, incredible thing. According to my Pregnancy Plus app, he's 15.2 inches

00:02:26.380 and 2.54 pounds, which is crazy. He's two and a half pounds already. But this is the description

00:02:33.920 of where he's at developmentally. The baby weighs about two and a half pounds. Your baby's brain is

00:02:39.640 now in charge of maintaining body temperature and also controls breathing. Your baby's eyes can now

00:02:45.700 respond to light. All the internal organs are maturing and preparing to function on their

00:02:50.380 own at birth. You may even feel your baby cough. Your baby's skin is beginning to look less wrinkly

00:02:56.500 and more like it will look at birth. The extra fat under the skin will help to regulate the body

00:03:01.480 temperature at birth. Your baby's head is much more proportionate to the rest of the body.

00:03:06.300 Your baby is bursting with energy at this point and you'll be feeling every bit of it.

00:03:10.300 Well, that is very accurate to what I have been feeling. So I want to start off by talking

00:03:16.760 about when I feel like I felt the baby growing, a growth spurt. So when we were visiting my

00:03:24.760 family, I actually got concerned that I was having contractions because it was so much pressure

00:03:30.000 low down and I didn't know what it was. But luckily, my sister-in-law is a doctor, you may 0.66

00:03:36.380 have heard. And I asked her about it and she was like, well, I don't think that these are

00:03:41.640 contractions because it's not peaking and ebbing and flowing the way that contractions do. And

00:03:47.620 your stomach isn't super, super tight the way that contractions can feel. So I think what

00:03:54.140 it was, was the baby was pushing down all of his weight into my pelvis. Like he was just like

00:04:03.880 going for it. And it was very uncomfortable. It has happened like two or three times now where

00:04:09.540 he'll just kind of like sink really low. And it almost feels like he's pushing really hard.

00:04:13.620 But the first time that happened, he was in that position for like two and a half hours.

00:04:18.140 And the next day I woke up and I, it was like, it had gone from kicks and punches, little like

00:04:26.300 boop, boop inside to like elbows and knees. And like all of a sudden I felt like I could feel his

00:04:33.820 bones. It was such a crazy shift. And it was like from 27 to 28 weeks was an entirely different

00:04:43.060 experience for me where he was initially, I could feel him moving around and he was getting more

00:04:48.080 consistent, but it wasn't like I could feel his like muscles. It's an incredible thing. And there

00:04:55.600 is a difference. And that is really hard to describe. I mean, sometimes it's ticklish. It feels

00:04:59.920 like ticklish. Um, and you know, you can describe the kicks cause they feel like pokes from the

00:05:05.880 inside. Um, but the, the bigger movements, those are, are weird. They feel alien and it's so cute

00:05:14.420 and so exciting. Uh, he is definitely moving around a lot. I figured out that he kicks a lot more

00:05:21.960 when he's in the dark. So like that description of where he's at said he can see light now. So

00:05:29.460 when I expose my belly into the light, he like stops kicking and he, I think he might be looking

00:05:35.120 around or something and he, he doesn't move around as much. But when my clothes are covering my belly

00:05:40.580 or I'm under a blanket, that's when he's super active. And there's like two parts of my stomach

00:05:46.200 that he likes. It's like the top right half of my stomach and the bottom left half of my stomach.

00:05:51.560 Like those are the places I feel the most kicking, although I'll feel them all over,

00:05:55.740 but generally like I can depend on at least a couple of times a day. I'll feel like those two

00:06:00.760 spots a lot. It's just amazing. He's such a little person. I have conversations with him all the time.

00:06:09.300 He likes music. When we put music on outside of me, I can, he'll start going. Like if he hears music,

00:06:16.200 he'll start going and it's, it's just the cutest thing. It makes me laugh because I don't think he

00:06:21.200 really like kicks more when I'm singing, but he hears me talk all day. He hears me singing all

00:06:25.520 day and maybe he's just used to it. So as far as my symptoms go, so tired. Like I hit 28 weeks and

00:06:33.500 all of a sudden I was exhausted. Like I needed to go to bed at 9 30. I feel like I'm getting my energy

00:06:39.000 back a little bit. Like it's been five days of really intense exhaustion and now I'm starting to

00:06:45.400 get my energy back a little bit or maybe like a week of exhaustion and now I'm getting my energy back,

00:06:49.560 but we'll see. I mean, I have a feeling that we're just like on a downward slope of exhaustion now

00:06:54.700 because he's putting on like half a pound a week, which is so much. So yeah, there were nights where

00:07:00.600 I was exhausted by 8 30 and I just needed to get in bed and sleep until the morning. Of course I went

00:07:05.680 to the bathroom in the middle of the night because, because baby, because pregnancy, but like mostly

00:07:12.040 just sleeping. I just so tired. So that's been a whole thing reminding me of the first trimester because

00:07:18.440 second trimester, I had a lot of energy or more energy. I remember still being tired in the second

00:07:24.300 trimester, but not like the last few days where it was like, if I don't go to bed, I don't know what

00:07:29.360 will happen. So that's been a third trimester thing that like hit me as soon as I was in the third

00:07:36.640 trimester. I'm so hungry in the last few days. I've gotten so hungry, but I'm really trying to keep

00:07:43.500 it healthy. It's not easy because I do crave sugar, but I'm like really working to try to avoid

00:07:50.180 giving into that. I might have like a little piece of chocolate every day, but that that's really what

00:07:55.060 I'm trying to like hold the line. I really want to make an effort not to put on too much weight in

00:08:00.920 the pregnancy, but of course it's all about the baby being healthy. It's all about having a healthy

00:08:05.540 pregnancy. That's the most important thing, but I don't want to, if I can avoid it, I would like to try 0.92

00:08:10.980 to eat my healthiest and exercise so that I don't put on too much weight. So I am trying to eat really

00:08:17.780 well and I've also been exercising. I talked about this at my 24 week update, but now I've incorporated

00:08:25.720 some, some light strength, exercising, training, like weightlifting into my routine just a little

00:08:32.340 bit because my arms were feeling really weak and noodley. And so I started bringing in some of those

00:08:37.800 exercises, all very safe, all very, uh, mindful, but just to kind of give my muscles a little bit

00:08:45.620 more exercise. I alternate that with my yoga and I go for walks and those walks are just like a

00:08:50.840 lifesaver. I love going for my walks. They make me feel so good. They make me feel like I'm doing

00:08:57.060 something good for my body. I'm doing something good for the baby. And prenatal yoga is also great

00:09:01.520 because it really encourages stretching, good breathing techniques and squats, which are really

00:09:07.300 good for getting the baby in the right position. So that's kind of been something I've really wanted

00:09:12.760 to focus on is just staying healthy during this pregnancy by trying to eat healthy and trying to

00:09:19.160 exercise a good amount. So in a couple of days, I don't know if this will be before, after this video

00:09:25.040 goes out. Uh, I have my doctor's appointment, my 29 week doctor's appointment where I will just get

00:09:31.940 my normal checkup, but also I'm getting my diabetes test. So I have to drink that very sweet drink and

00:09:37.420 then they test my blood to make sure everything is good. I'm a little nervous about it, but I've been

00:09:42.340 a little bit nervous about every test in pregnancy. And I think that that's just normal. So I'm just

00:09:48.080 going in and staying calm and trying to, uh, recognize that it's actually a pretty low percentage

00:09:54.480 that you would actually have gestational diabetes. So we'll just see what happens, but I'm excited

00:10:00.100 to see my doctor again. It's been four weeks. And after this point, since we're in the third

00:10:04.260 trimester, I'm going to be seeing him every two weeks, which is crazy because let's just keep in

00:10:10.140 mind, 28 weeks means 12 weeks till the due date. I'm going to be 29 weeks very soon. And that's 11

00:10:17.860 weeks. And then it's 10 weeks. It's just, it's going by super fast and also super slow. And that's

00:10:25.100 a crazy feeling. Uh, so that's going to be intense and trying to get everything ready. So that is the

00:10:31.760 last thing I want to talk about, which is the moodiness and the anxiety. Like that has been

00:10:37.980 something that's been throughout the pregnancy, like just a little bit here and there, right? At the

00:10:41.320 beginning, a lot, just waiting to find out if the baby was going to be okay. Now we're getting into

00:10:47.160 the part of like, Oh, things are getting real. I need to prepare. I need to get everything ready

00:10:54.740 for the baby to come. And it is a very exciting time. It's also nerve wracking. Some things are

00:11:01.900 still backordered. Uh, the nursery is all up in the air. We are actually, I don't know if I've

00:11:07.020 mentioned this, we are moving next door. So that's a thing. We're moving next door and, uh, we're not

00:11:15.740 moving for a couple of weeks. So I still can't set up the nursery, which is breaking my brain.

00:11:21.780 But I also recognize that we have time and it is all going to be fine, but I would love to just

00:11:27.660 nest. And I can't really, cause I don't have a house to nest in since everything's going to be

00:11:34.440 moving and upended to the net, to the new house. So gotta, gotta kind of keep calm about that.

00:11:47.320 moodiness, a little bit more worry, a little bit more anxiety as the due date gets closer,

00:11:52.440 but it is all very exciting. And I just can't wait. I'm so excited to meet this little man.
