00:00:00.000 Hello, classic crew, and welcome to today's episode of The Scoop.
00:00:06.820 If you are new to my channel, The Scoop is our opportunity to catch up,
00:00:10.840 go over what went on over the course of the week,
00:00:13.860 act as if we're grabbing a cup of coffee together, and just kind of hang out.
00:00:17.740 On my channel, we talk about commentary, lifestyle, beauty, fashion, and opera.
00:00:22.600 I'm an opera singer.
00:00:23.620 All from a conservative and classic perspective.
00:00:26.660 So if that's something that you would enjoy, please feel free to subscribe.
00:00:30.220 So go ahead and grab some coffee or tea or hot chocolate.
00:00:34.040 I don't know what you're drinking, and let's get into it.
00:00:36.720 So the first thing that I want to talk about today
00:00:38.680 is that we hit 90,000 subscribers here on Classically Abbey,
00:00:43.400 and that is super exciting because that means we are getting close to 100,000 subscribers,
00:00:50.000 and that means there are 100,000 people who are part of the classic crew.
00:00:53.880 So now is the time for us to push to that 100,000.
00:00:56.840 And if you have friends that you think would enjoy being part of this,
00:01:00.140 I would absolutely love if you would have them come and subscribe too.
00:01:03.280 It's such an exciting thing to see this space for conservatives and conservative women grow. 0.52
00:01:08.200 I'm excited to see that there is a place for people to speak openly about their conservative views,
00:01:13.820 and you don't have to be a conservative to be here.
00:01:16.200 We love having people on the other side of the aisle if you're open to having an open discussion.
00:01:20.140 But I'm just so excited to see the support in this community and see how many people are finding a place here.
00:01:25.720 I'd love to know in the comments when did you subscribe to this channel and what video inspired you to do so.
00:01:31.040 Next up, I wanted to mention a few things that I will be doing over the next few days.
00:01:36.060 So on Friday, I will be giving a speech.
00:01:38.180 It will be on Zoom for the Claire Booth Luce Center for Conservative Women.
00:01:43.040 And they are a wonderful organization.
00:01:45.680 I am so excited to be partnering with them.
00:01:47.880 I'm going to be giving a speech all about how to dress well and why it's so important.
00:01:53.440 The name of the speech is actually Dress Up Ladies, A Guide for the Successful Woman.
00:01:58.100 And it's going to actually teach you how to dress well,
00:02:00.600 but it's also going to be talking about why this is a conservative concept to dress well
00:02:05.860 and why presenting yourself well is not only important, but also fits in with our worldview.
00:02:10.940 So I'm really looking forward to this speech.
00:02:13.460 It's going to be happening this Friday.
00:02:15.400 And I will leave in the description box below the link so that you can sign up to be a part of it.
00:02:20.960 Because I'm really excited to talk about this topic.
00:02:23.340 I think it's a really important one.
00:02:25.140 And I'd love to see you guys there.
00:02:26.740 Next up, I wanted to talk about what I will be doing on February 22nd.
00:02:30.800 That's Monday at 8 p.m.
00:02:32.880 In partnership with YAF, which is the Young America's Foundation,
00:02:36.280 my husband and I are going to be doing something called Breaking the Meta.
00:02:40.000 And we're going to be live streaming, playing video games,
00:02:42.820 and breaking down the hidden leftist messaging that pervades absolutely everything,
00:02:47.180 including video games.
00:02:48.820 But we're going to be playing through them.
00:02:50.400 Now, warning, I am terrible at video games.
00:02:53.220 I can do okay, but I'm not good.
00:02:55.960 Let's just be clear.
00:02:56.900 My husband is okay.
00:02:58.040 He can do well.
00:02:58.700 Well, I am not.
00:02:59.980 So there's going to be a lot of me absolutely failing horribly
00:03:03.800 and a lot of me throwing the controller at my husband and saying,
00:03:07.840 you need to take over because I'm terrible.
00:03:09.820 I will be doing my best, but I won't be doing great.
00:03:12.740 So that'll be interesting.
00:03:14.720 That'll be fun.
00:03:15.780 But we are doing this in partnership with Young America's Foundation,
00:03:18.500 and I'm really looking forward to it.
00:03:20.080 So make sure to mark that down in your calendars
00:03:21.980 because I think that's going to be a lot of fun as well.
00:03:23.820 Next up, I wanted to talk about these crazy storms that are hitting around the country.
00:03:28.700 But are really hitting Texas very hard.
00:03:31.900 Texas is just not built for this kind of weather.
00:03:34.420 And their infrastructure was not prepared.
00:03:36.480 Their housing is not built for this kind of thing.
00:03:38.780 And it's so dangerous.
00:03:40.200 People are without power.
00:03:41.740 People don't have water.
00:03:43.240 It's just horrible.
00:03:44.340 So I think it's really important that we all pray for Texas
00:03:46.640 and the people who live there and the people who are suffering right now
00:03:50.120 because this is, it's just not precedented.
00:03:54.040 And people are in horrible situations.
00:03:56.680 So keeping them in our hearts and prayers, I think, is really important right now.
00:04:00.980 I also wanted to mention that Rush Limbaugh passed away on Wednesday.
00:04:05.040 So Rush Limbaugh, he passed away at 7D of lung cancer,
00:04:08.620 and he's been suffering with cancer for a while.
00:04:11.080 He was the biggest voice on conservative radio for decades.
00:04:14.160 He really started conservative media,
00:04:16.460 and he was such an important voice for the conservative movement.
00:04:20.480 And I remember growing up, my dad would put him on the radio when we drove to school,
00:04:24.940 and we would listen to him.
00:04:26.280 And I remember getting the Limbaugh letter in the mail
00:04:28.340 and kind of being excited because there were some comics in the middle that I was allowed to read.
00:04:32.300 And I think that it's a huge loss for the conservative community to have that happen.
00:04:37.900 So if you have followed Rush Limbaugh, I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
00:04:41.600 And may he rest in peace.
00:04:43.160 The last thing I want to talk about is something on a much lighter note,
00:04:45.780 and I figured I would end on something light just before we finish off this video.
00:04:50.080 And that is that my friend gave me a wonderful gift.
00:04:53.580 So my friend visited me for a weekend,
00:04:55.880 and at some point she came into my room and she took a look at my closet and she said,
00:04:59.600 oh, I think your dresses would look so pretty if all of them had the same hangers.
00:05:03.880 And I said to her, I've always wanted to do that,
00:05:06.260 but I can't bring myself to spend however much money, the $10 or $15, to get all matching hangers.
00:05:12.300 I don't know why. 0.99
00:05:13.380 I can spend money on other stupid things, 0.99
00:05:15.800 but for some reason buying matching hangers, 0.98
00:05:17.980 which is something that is actually useful, I couldn't bring myself to do.
00:05:21.360 So a couple weeks later, I get an Amazon package and I didn't order anything.
00:05:26.460 So I look at what's inside and it's 50 matching velvet hangers.
00:05:31.020 And oh my gosh, she had bought me the best gift.
00:05:33.860 It was so sweet.
00:05:35.260 And now I have all my dresses hung up and they look beautiful.
00:05:38.560 She was totally right.
00:05:39.620 And it was such a thoughtful gift.
00:05:40.880 So if you've been considering getting matching hangers, it's actually not a bad idea.
00:05:45.760 It really does clean up your closet and it makes everything look so much better.
00:05:49.920 And also these velvet hangers are so good because nothing slides off them.
00:05:53.040 So I hugely recommend them and I feel so loved and so happy that I have them in my closet.
00:05:58.660 I'm looking over at my closet.
00:05:59.920 That's why I glanced this way.
00:06:01.240 So that's it for today's video.
00:06:03.760 I hope you guys enjoyed it.
