00:00:13.100 It's time for Tim's.
00:00:15.220 Some internet slewed out there found out
00:00:18.860 this really shady tactic that they're using in the media right now.
00:00:23.860 Yeah, we floss some talk.
00:00:25.920 Hi and welcome to Flossom Talk.
00:00:30.600 I'm Jashti Floor, journalist, Hollywood truth teller
00:00:33.100 and your voice of reason in a town built on delusion.
00:00:37.600 Okay, so there was a hearing yesterday.
00:00:40.780 A hearing in the parallel lawsuit.
00:00:43.660 Not Blake Lively versus Justin Baldoni,
00:00:45.900 but Stephanie Jones, the PR company that Justin Baldoni hired
00:00:50.180 and one of their former employees, Jennifer Abel.
00:00:53.900 So that case is separate.
00:00:57.180 But still, Blake felt the need to send four lawyers into that hearing.
00:01:01.660 Anyways, the reason for the hearing is that somebody is lying.
00:01:05.520 As I spoke about in my episode yesterday,
00:01:08.220 Melissa Nathan, who was the PR specialist that Justin Baldoni hired,
00:01:12.660 is also connected to this lawsuit
00:01:15.880 because one of her employees are accusing her
00:01:18.960 of being a part of a smear campaign against Stephanie Jones.
00:01:24.280 Also, Scooter Braun is wrapped up in this.
00:01:27.960 And yesterday, Taylor Swift was mentioned in the hearing as well.
00:01:32.160 Let's get into that.
00:01:33.440 And we have to talk about this new PR stunt
00:01:36.700 that Blake and Ryan is trying to get away with.
00:01:39.840 Some internet slew out there found out this really shady tactic
00:01:46.200 that they're using in the media right now.
00:01:48.980 You've got to hear this.
00:01:50.500 Also, thanks to one of you guys,
00:01:52.400 we now know that Blake and Ryan originally lied
00:01:57.120 about that plantation wedding that they had.
00:02:00.640 There is an article where the story is very different
00:02:03.880 from what they tell today.
00:02:05.780 Okay, so let's start with this hearing that was yesterday.
00:02:08.140 This was a hearing in the Stephanie Jones versus Jennifer Abel case.
00:02:13.620 And as I mentioned yesterday,
00:02:14.920 Blake Lively wants to have access to information from that case
00:02:18.640 so she can discredit Melissa Nathan in her case.
00:02:22.920 It's all a bit complicated.
00:02:25.060 But the players here are really Stephanie Jones,
00:02:27.300 who owns a PR company and her previous employee, Jennifer Abel.
00:02:33.360 So this hearing is basically about how Stephanie Jones feels
00:02:36.820 that she was defamed or smeared by her former employee.
00:02:43.100 So another one of Stephanie Jones' former employees called Katie Case
00:02:49.340 then went on to work for Melissa Nathan,
00:02:53.380 who is a crisis manager who's also hired by Justin Baldoni.
00:02:58.080 So Stephanie Jones has accused Melissa Nathan for being a part of creating a smear website against her.
00:03:07.360 There was a website called Stephanie Jones Lies or something like that.
00:03:11.700 I don't remember the name of the website.
00:03:13.240 But on this website, people who had worked with Stephanie Jones
00:03:16.900 told their stories about how their experiences were with her.
00:03:21.000 And as you know, there's been articles written about Stephanie Jones and her unethical methods
00:03:25.580 and how she's been a terrible boss to people
00:03:27.740 and how she has gone after her former clients when they leave her trying to smear them.
00:03:34.060 Anyway, so the reason again for this meeting is because Melissa Nathan said in her testimony
00:03:39.460 that she never asked Katie Case to write a website to smear Stephanie Jones.
00:03:49.020 Katie Case says that she was asked by Melissa Nathan to create this website.
00:03:54.280 So one of those two women are lying here.
00:03:58.500 Here comes the interesting twist.
00:04:00.540 The owner of Tag, which is the company that Melissa Nathan started,
00:04:05.320 which is also the company that Katie Case went to join after leaving Stephanie Jones,
00:04:12.660 is owned by Scooter Braun, who also used to be represented by Stephanie Jones.
00:04:19.880 So here's the question.
00:04:21.440 Why would Katie Case lie and say that Melissa Nathan was the one who asked her to do the website?
00:04:28.320 One of the reasons could be that she's afraid of Stephanie Jones
00:04:32.360 and what she could do to harm her.
00:04:34.320 So she's going to say that, oh, I just did it on behalf of someone else.
00:04:38.400 Also, another reason for Katie Case to not tell the truth there
00:04:41.600 is because she doesn't want to get dragged into this lawsuit and become a defendant herself.
00:04:47.380 So she has personal interest in staying out.
00:04:50.780 Keep that in mind.
00:04:52.220 Also, if Melissa Nathan had admitted that she was behind that website
00:04:56.580 to smear someone, that would have looked really bad in the Justin Baldoni lawsuit
00:05:02.400 because then they would be like, hey, look what she did there.
00:05:05.360 She could do the same here with Blake Lively.
00:05:07.760 And that's exactly the reason why Blake Lively's attorneys are so interested in this.
00:05:13.320 Also, I find it interesting why Stephanie Jones also didn't just sue Tag and Scooter Braun here.
00:05:19.620 Because also, he had a fallout with Stephanie Jones during that whole Taylor Swift drama.
00:05:26.260 Because during the Taylor Swift drama, when she was fighting for her masters,
00:05:30.940 Stephanie Jones was representing Scooter Braun.
00:05:34.420 And they had a fallout because Stephanie Jones allegedly went after Taylor Swift on social media
00:05:41.280 and tried to smear her and Scooter Braun didn't like that.
00:05:45.740 And he left to start his own company.
00:05:47.620 And that's when he started Tag PR.
00:05:50.340 And that's where Melissa Nathan now works.
00:05:52.360 And that's where Katie Case works.
00:05:53.880 If she's still there, I'm not sure about that.
00:05:56.240 But anyways, that also gives Scooter Braun a reason to create this website.
00:06:00.700 And a lot of other clients of Stephanie Jones who really doesn't like her.
00:06:05.840 A lot of people came out in an article, the Business Insider did, about Stephanie Jones
00:06:10.980 and explained their horrific experiences with her.
00:06:14.860 So a lot of people don't like Stephanie Jones.
00:06:17.880 Another thing here is that if you create a website about someone
00:06:21.540 and you only put out people's experiences and opinions about that person,
00:06:27.180 is that smearing someone?
00:06:29.320 Does it have to be a lie to be called smearing?
00:06:32.400 Or can you just say that I had a terrible experience with this person?
00:06:36.140 I think she's awful.
00:06:37.400 Is that smearing someone?
00:06:39.080 I don't know.
00:06:40.020 Anyways, now, of course, Stephanie Jones' attorneys wants to get to the bottom of this.
00:06:44.560 Who is lying here?
00:06:46.000 And they want more documentation from Katie Case.
00:06:49.060 They want to serve her a broader subpoena to get more information.
00:06:54.020 And then Kevin Fritz, who was there representing Wayfair parties,
00:06:58.380 Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel, Justin Baldoni and everyone,
00:07:01.620 he said, why should they get the opportunity to get more subpoenas thrown out there
00:07:08.180 while we were trying to subpoena Taylor Swift and you told us no, it was too late.
00:07:14.400 So then why should they be able to get a late subpoena?
00:07:17.780 This discovery has ended over a month ago.
00:07:20.700 It doesn't make any sense.
00:07:22.200 And that is not fair.
00:07:23.880 So now we have to see what the judge agrees to here.
00:07:28.100 If he agrees to give them the opportunity to start to serve another subpoena,
00:07:32.620 and if he opens that floodgate,
00:07:35.060 then he could risk a lot of other asks for more subpoenas from all parties here.
00:07:40.680 And it will be a big mess.
00:07:43.580 I hope that made sense.
00:07:44.940 This stuff is so complicated.
00:07:46.560 Now there's so many players here.
00:07:48.160 And some of the players are involved in so many areas.
00:07:51.800 As you might also know, this Rebel Wilson lawsuit that I haven't really spoken about much
00:07:57.480 here on my channel yet, but I will get into that.
00:08:00.680 Melissa Nathan is also involved in that lawsuit.
00:08:03.820 That lawsuit with Rebel Wilson and her former producer of a movie
00:08:07.860 and the actress in the movie is so complicated and so insane
00:08:13.920 that it has a lot of the same patterns as we've seen in this lawsuit.
00:08:19.900 I will try to get into that in details in the next couple of weeks.
00:08:23.880 Anyways, let's get into the new tactic here of Blake and Ryan
00:08:28.400 and how they're trying to save their image from all the negative press
00:08:33.540 that came from Justin Baldoni's motion for summary judgment.
00:08:37.840 Remember, he filed a lot of new evidence a couple of weeks ago
00:08:41.880 and it was everywhere that Ryan Reynolds was the angry husband
00:08:45.220 and Blake Lively improvised a kiss on Justin Baldoni on the set of It Ends With Us.
00:08:52.620 And now they are really trying to control the narrative as usual.
00:08:57.720 And they're also trying some new tricks to try and control Google and SEO.
00:09:03.840 This is so fascinating.
00:09:05.600 So I watched another creator talk about this.
00:09:08.700 So all credit here goes to Katie Inc. K, which I'll leave a link to below
00:09:14.860 so you can watch her video on this.
00:09:17.340 But she figured out something really fascinating.
00:09:21.120 I'll get into that in a second.
00:09:23.120 First, I just wanted to go through this article a little bit
00:09:25.620 because it says that Blake Lively stocks up for Thanksgiving
00:09:29.200 with her Trader Joe's favorite spilling out.
00:09:32.620 So there are paparazzi pictures of Blake Lively going shopping at Trader Joe's.
00:09:38.300 Trader Joe's, if you don't live in America, is a grocery store where you get really good prices.
00:09:44.500 I go there all the time.
00:09:45.660 I love Trader Joe's.
00:09:46.820 Anyways, you would not expect to see an A-lister, as they call her here, shopping at Trader Joe's.
00:09:53.440 So, but Blake Lively went.
00:09:55.360 And keep in mind, when you watch these pictures of her with two bags from Trader Joe's,
00:09:59.260 that she has four children.
00:10:01.240 Who goes shopping for Thanksgiving and brings back two bags when you have four children?
00:10:06.880 This whole photo shoot was obviously a setup.
00:10:11.140 And she called the paparazzi to tell them, hey, I'm going to Trader Joe's here.
00:10:14.820 So she obviously want us to see her in this light as a regular person.
00:10:19.200 Remember those articles they used to have in some of those glossy magazines
00:10:23.220 where they said, celebrities, they're just like us.
00:10:26.660 That's what she's going for here.
00:10:28.480 So the article says,
00:10:29.720 the actress who was recently accused of improvising an unscripted kiss
00:10:33.600 while filming It Ends With Us,
00:10:35.440 kept a low profile as she ran errands at Trader Joe's.
00:10:38.540 While browsing the aisles, the Gossip Girl star 38 looked cozy in a chunky top-knit cardigan,
00:10:45.600 distressed patchwork jeans, a white beanie, and tan UGG boots.
00:10:51.020 First, I was like, oh, that's good.
00:10:53.420 They're actually mentioning here that she was accused of improvised kissing.
00:10:57.720 And I thought, okay, this might be a little balanced reporting.
00:11:01.280 That was until I realized what they're actually doing here.
00:11:04.800 Then the article continues to say that Reynolds was most recently seen last week
00:11:08.700 while speaking at the Wall Street Journal CMO Council Summit in New York City.
00:11:14.180 Then he said some interesting things that made another article in People magazine
00:11:19.080 that I will get back to shortly.
00:11:21.980 First, let's see what Katie noticed about that article in the Daily Mail.
00:11:28.040 I'm going to specifically point out this Daily Mail article that says,
00:11:31.040 Blake Lively stocks up for Thanksgiving with Trader Joe Faber.
00:11:33.500 It's spilling out.
00:11:34.440 And it looks like a fairly harmless title, right?
00:11:37.320 But let's look at the URL.
00:11:39.120 Squint with me here.
00:11:39.940 It says, Blake Lively vicious Justin Baldoni kiss.
00:11:46.660 That's the URL for this article.
00:11:49.400 The headline and the URL usually is the same.
00:11:53.280 Why did they change it to this?
00:11:56.080 This is where it gets really interesting.
00:11:58.500 This is a very common SEO manipulation tactic.
00:12:02.100 This is something called keyword hijacking.
00:12:05.320 So when you are searching for Blake Lively and unscripted kiss, this article will come up.
00:12:13.740 And you're like, oh, she's just shopping at Trader Joe's.
00:12:18.340 She looks just like us.
00:12:19.660 She acts just like us.
00:12:21.440 She's just a wholesome person and a down-to-earth person.
00:12:24.500 So they are burying this scandal by flooding with positive articles
00:12:29.520 and using the same keywords for those positive articles.
00:12:33.420 So that's what comes up when you're searching for Blake Lively scandals.
00:12:38.900 So her PR team obviously put this together,
00:12:41.880 thinking like we need to rank higher when people are searching for that kiss
00:12:47.220 and we need something positive to pop up when people are searching for that.
00:12:51.780 The thing is, no tabloid accidentally just changes the URL of an article.
00:12:57.900 That just does not happen.
00:12:59.780 I worked for tabloids.
00:13:01.520 I worked for newspapers.
00:13:02.900 I worked for magazines back in Norway.
00:13:05.080 That doesn't happen.
00:13:06.100 And they did the same thing.
00:13:07.480 They didn't change the URL on this article,
00:13:09.460 but they just published another article last week,
00:13:12.680 another puff piece saying,
00:13:14.920 Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds escape from Justin Baldoni's legal war revealed.
00:13:20.620 So this article is about basically how they go to Rexham to get some peace
00:13:25.680 because people really don't care about celebrities there.
00:13:28.120 And there's some quotes from a friend of their,
00:13:31.240 a British actor called Humphrey Care.
00:13:33.820 And he's saying what they love about coming to Rexham is that no one there gives a 2S about their fame.
00:13:41.440 What they care about is whether he'll buy them a new center back.
00:13:44.140 It's an escape.
00:13:44.840 I feel for them said care.
00:13:46.360 A former Eton classmate of Prince William.
00:13:50.200 Like that matters.
00:13:51.660 So this article also has those keywords of the legal feud with Justin Baldoni.
00:13:56.900 So when you're Googling the legal feud,
00:14:00.100 this article will come up and you see Blake and Ryan as a unity,
00:14:04.960 as a family,
00:14:05.820 and as victims who have to escape all these legal drama and how they just want to be normal,
00:14:12.660 just like you and me and not be recognized and be able to live their life in peace.
00:14:18.140 They're victims and they're resilience.
00:14:20.260 They're not like the aggressors here, obviously.
00:14:23.600 And Ryan Reynolds did the same thing this morning when he published a reel or a video on Instagram
00:14:29.780 with him and Hugh Jackman, his BFF,
00:14:32.960 because now they are co-owners of Team Australia in the SailGP Catamaran Racing.
00:14:40.040 So, of course, that is going to be picked up by the media.
00:14:43.660 And that in that story, they will also mention the lawsuit,
00:14:47.580 meaning that when people are searching for the lawsuit,
00:14:50.960 stories like that will pop up and you'll be like,
00:14:53.300 oh, and he's with Hugh Jackman and everyone loves Hugh Jackman.
00:14:56.720 Maybe not so much anymore, but still.
00:14:58.540 But, you know, he's been using Wrexham a lot as well
00:15:01.480 to try to get the attention away from what's really happening here.
00:15:05.760 And, of course, the comments are closed off.
00:15:08.900 So you can't even give him your opinion.
00:15:11.200 Funny how TMZ picked up that story from Trader Joe's.
00:15:14.440 They were saying,
00:15:15.240 Blake Lively, it ends with Trader Joe's dot dot dot legal bills piling up.
00:15:20.940 So they were trying to make it look like Blake and Ryan now can't afford to go to Whole Foods
00:15:26.980 or Air One or whatever, all these expensive grocery stores here in L.A.
00:15:30.920 or in Connecticut where they are because of their legal bills,
00:15:35.320 because it's getting so expensive.
00:15:37.200 Again, they're just victims here and they have to spend all this money
00:15:40.500 because Blake Lively has been S-aged and retaliated against.
00:15:45.400 So, OK, so let's get back to what Ryan Reynolds recently said.
00:15:48.240 He was interviewed on stage for the Wall Street Journal CMO Council Summit in New York.
00:15:54.460 And he said,
00:15:55.920 I'm screwed if people start agreeing with me because I'm the boss or something,
00:16:00.660 he said on stage.
00:16:02.080 They don't say this producer's movie flopped or this director's movie flopped.
00:16:06.620 That's me.
00:16:07.640 So if I'm going to be on that headline,
00:16:10.460 I'd like to be the architect of my own demise or success, he says.
00:16:15.640 He's basically saying that I own my mistakes when they happen.
00:16:19.860 But look at Justin Baldoni.
00:16:21.540 He can't even admit that he was wrong.
00:16:23.800 Reynolds added that now he feels more comfortable taking control
00:16:27.960 and admitted compliance makes him feel ill.
00:16:31.560 OK, when I go outside, I get pats on the back and it's a selfie parade.
00:16:37.080 You wish.
00:16:38.560 And I oblige everyone pretty much.
00:16:41.320 And my kids only see that, he says.
00:16:43.820 So he's only showing this to his kids to give them a great upbringing like down to earth
00:16:50.440 and like, hey, I'm daddy, such a people pleaser here.
00:16:54.240 But on the inside, he's struggling.
00:16:57.980 He says, I've learned lately to make sure to talk about the failures
00:17:01.720 and how that is literally the base and ingredient for everything else.
00:17:08.100 OK, Ryan Reynolds wants to talk about his failures.
00:17:12.600 So on the surface, this article is like, OK, it's a business article about his business decisions
00:17:19.540 and how he is as a leader.
00:17:22.140 But underneath it, it really portrays him as a boss that everyone wants to work with
00:17:28.100 because he's so self-aware, he's so open-minded and he's so respected.
00:17:32.680 I feel this is a little bit of a dig towards Justin Baldoni as well.
00:17:36.240 And as now we know Ryan Reynolds and how his brain works, he cannot miss, he will not miss
00:17:42.500 an opportunity on taking a dig at Baldoni.
00:17:45.600 And this is like, you know, I take responsibility for my mistakes.
00:17:49.060 You refuse to do that on the movie of all the mistakes that you did and also all the mistakes
00:17:54.460 you did with the PR of the movie.
00:17:57.260 Look, this is what a good leader looks like and behaves like, unlike some other directors
00:18:02.200 who's been in the headlines lately.
00:18:04.400 All of what he's saying here is basically supporting Blake's narrative as well.
00:18:09.120 It's so well thought through.
00:18:11.180 Yeah, so every time you read an article about this mess, just try to put some critical glasses
00:18:18.460 on and think, what do they want from this article?
00:18:21.640 Because nothing at this point is by accident.
00:18:24.840 OK, thank you, Edith, for sending me this article.
00:18:27.500 As you remember, if you watched my episode yesterday, I spoke about Blake and Ryan's plantation
00:18:33.620 wedding and how they said in this article on E! News that they just saw this plantation
00:18:39.060 on Pinterest and they didn't really know the history behind it.
00:18:43.940 And that's why they just decided to have their wedding there.
00:18:47.160 And then afterwards, they were like, oh, no, it got some really disturbing history to this
00:18:51.880 place.
00:18:52.340 Anyways, Edith sent me this article in People Magazine, where it actually says that Blake
00:18:58.400 Lively went down there and did research.
00:19:02.400 Listen to this.
00:19:03.640 The actress, 25 at that point, quietly traveled to Charleston a few weeks prior to the big day
00:19:11.080 to survey historic Bone Hall Plantation, the site on her 9th of September wedding to actor
00:19:18.380 Ryan Reynolds.
00:19:19.280 So basically, they lied when they said that they just saw this place on Pinterest.
00:19:24.820 And this article also points out how secret everything was surrounding this.
00:19:30.840 Nearly everyone involved in the nuptials was asked to sign non-disclosure agreements, including
00:19:37.620 the parents of the children's choir from the local First Baptist Church who performed during
00:19:44.760 the ceremony, and cell phones were confiscated from guests before being returned after the
00:19:50.920 event.
00:19:52.320 The parents of the choir had to sign NDAs.
00:19:56.460 They really didn't want anyone to know that they were getting married at this plantation,
00:20:02.760 and they knew what they were doing.
00:20:05.580 So yes, thank you, Edith, so much for sending me this.
00:20:08.700 Also, before I go, I remember this photo actually is just a reminder that also Amanda sent me.
00:20:15.220 Thank you so much.
00:20:16.240 This is a picture of Blake Lively from Disneyland in 2023 that she posted on her Instagram, and
00:20:24.040 it's basically her pumping.
00:20:26.460 And she even has in the caption that she's pumping in Disneyland.
00:20:30.640 And as we know, she made such a big deal about it.
00:20:34.320 If anyone entered her trailer while she was pumping, she accused, as you know, she accused
00:20:42.100 Jamie Heath of knocking on her door while she was pumping, and she said, you can come in.
00:20:48.340 And then she said, you have to face the wall.
00:20:50.420 Don't look at me.
00:20:51.360 No eye contact.
00:20:52.520 And afterwards, she accused him of having eye contact.
00:20:55.440 And she said that she didn't even think that he was trying to have a coop at her breast
00:21:00.000 or whatever, if they were even beer or if she was pumping the way she did in Disneyland.
00:21:04.440 But apparently, she was pumping all over the set.
00:21:07.460 Witnesses had said that she was very open about pumping.
00:21:11.220 And as you remember, she sent even a text to Justin Baldoni when he was asking if they
00:21:16.000 could go through some lines together.
00:21:18.020 She said, yes, please come into my trailer.
00:21:20.660 I'm just pumping.
00:21:21.500 So, yeah, another contradiction in Blake Lively's world.
00:21:26.440 That's it for me, you guys.
00:21:27.560 Thanks for watching.
00:21:28.720 And I hope you enjoyed this episode.
00:21:30.460 Oscar wanted to say hi.
