00:00:00.000 But guess who was not invited? Blake Lively.
00:00:08.860 Hi and welcome to Flossom Talk. I'm Tashli Floor, journalist, Hollywood truth teller,
00:00:13.400 and your voice of reason in a town built on delusion.
00:00:17.580 So yesterday was one of the big fashion events of the year in New York City.
00:00:22.180 Louis Vuitton invited all the A-listers and fashionistas to enjoy the Louis Vuitton Cruise
00:00:30.500 2027 show. But guess who was not invited? Blake Lively. Although all her besties were there,
00:00:39.580 she was nowhere to be seen. But as you know, she went to the Fendi store the night before
00:00:45.200 with all the Nipo babies, all the children of the A-listers who did not show up themselves. 0.99
00:00:51.300 And now Fendi is paying the price for inviting Blake Lively.
00:00:56.400 And there's more reports on how much money Blake Lively's brands actually lost.
00:01:02.300 Now some of these investors are desperately trying to sell their part of the business,
00:01:06.600 but no one is buying.
00:01:08.600 Also, a very interesting expose about Ryan Reynolds again and how he used Ezra Hudson,
00:01:16.100 One of Blake Lively's main attorneys to hijack the Me Too movement.
00:01:22.260 This is really interesting.
00:01:24.660 Okay, so let's get into it.
00:01:25.900 Yesterday, there was a big event, big fashion event in New York City,
00:01:29.560 and everyone was there.
00:01:31.380 Everyone from Emma Stone, Cate Blanchett, Amy Adams, Alicia Vikander,
00:01:37.860 Jennifer Connelly, Zendaya, Chloe Sevigny, and Anne Hathaway.
00:01:45.300 Blake Lively's new friend from the Met Gala. Remember, she's the only celebrity who actually
00:01:50.140 took a photo with Blake Lively at the Met Gala. And also Blake's dear friend, Emily Blunt, who was
00:01:56.180 also on her witness list. On top of that, one of her main supporters, Anna Winter, was there. She
00:02:03.880 was, of course, on the first row sitting next to Anne Hathaway. But Blake Lively was not there. She
00:02:10.460 was obviously not invited. Smart move from Louis Vuitton, I have to say, after seeing what happened
00:02:18.080 to Fendi yesterday, because they invited Blake Lively to their store in New York to celebrate
00:02:24.660 the baguette bag or something like that. And Blake Lively showed up and took photos outside
00:02:31.180 with fads or whatever. And some people noticed that Fendi only showed photos on their Instagram
00:02:37.420 of other celebrities who were there, amongst them Olivia Wilde, or the only one, I would say,
00:02:43.060 Olivia Wilde. Otherwise, as I said, there were only children of celebrities who actually showed
00:02:48.340 up, or Nepo Baby, as some people call them. Blake Lively's photo was not there. And you can see in
00:02:54.580 the comment section, people were like, smart choice to not put Blake Lively on your Instagram, 0.97
00:02:59.060 but also such cowards. Why did you invite her in the first place? There was a lot of people
00:03:04.520 in the comment section asking about this. So four hours later, Fendi created a new post
00:03:11.920 with Blake Lively. Such a stupid move. And of course, that post is now flooded with negativity 1.00
00:03:20.680 towards the brand. Why would anyone want to connect themselves to a toxic brand like Blake
00:03:27.580 Lively right now? It really baffles me to understand. Are they that desperate to get
00:03:33.880 attention around the baguette bag or around this store in New York that they would go to the level
00:03:39.840 of inviting the most toxic person in Hollywood right now. Yeah, try to make sense of that. As I
00:03:46.060 said, it totally backfired on Fendi and now people are like, why would I support a brand who is
00:03:52.820 supporting bullies? Anyways, before I get into this expose about Ryan Reynolds here, I wanted to show
00:03:59.600 this video that Chloe sent me thank you I'd not seen this interview with Ryan before he is asked
00:04:06.880 by this reporter how his characters in movies and the characters that we got to know as Ryan Reynolds
00:04:13.800 how they are different from who he is in real life or if it is actually the same person
00:04:19.740 and he responds like this not at all because that sort of persona or whatever it is that you might
00:04:26.720 be expressing right now is just a sort of a, an advanced and somewhat adaptive, uh, self, you
00:04:33.520 know, uh, self-defense mechanism. Really. It's not, uh, it's not the real actual me. I mean,
00:04:38.320 if my wife was sitting here, she would laugh because in real life, I'm much more shy and
00:04:43.880 much more introverted. And, um, you know, I'm a bit of a hermit, you know, I'll stay in if,
00:04:49.760 as long as I'll, they'll let me stay in. Um, so no, there, there's no confusion there at all.
00:04:54.220 Yes, as you probably remember, Blake Lively also admitted at the Met Gala that she's really shy.
00:05:03.000 And now Ryan Reynolds is also really shy and very introvert.
00:05:07.340 I mean, those are the last words I would use to describe Ryan Reynolds.
00:05:11.220 Shy and introvert.
00:05:13.640 Yeah, I think him and Blake are just adding these traits to themselves to come off as more likable.
00:05:19.740 But no, I don't buy it.
00:05:21.440 I don't think Ryan Reynolds is shy for a second and neither is Blake Wively showing up at the
00:05:27.300 Met Gala in my dress and then she's like I'm so shy that I had to carry this bag with me
00:05:32.480 with my children's paintings on them because that helps me. That's so dumb. Anyways let's look into 1.00
00:05:39.700 this expose who Eumonia Dyke, I don't know if that's her real name or not, I'm sorry if I
00:05:44.720 mispronounced it, she did some really fascinating deep dives into Ryan Reynolds before and this
00:05:51.420 This one, thank you, Erica, for sending it to me, is pretty revealing and so interesting.
00:05:58.480 So she's pointing out here one thing that I wanted to go through because this article
00:06:02.720 is super long.
00:06:04.060 So for everyone who's more interested in this, you should really read the entire piece.
00:06:08.400 It takes about an hour.
00:06:10.260 So just so you know, but I'll leave a link below so you can find her easily.
00:06:14.660 Anyways, what I found really interesting here, which I didn't really think about before,
00:06:19.340 She's explaining here how Ryan Reynolds and his lawyer hijacked the Me Too movement to
00:06:26.260 conceal his hijacking of a movie.
00:06:30.400 As you know, one of Blake Lively's main attorneys, Ezra Hudson, has been kind of quiet in the
00:06:38.200 background, but we know that she is one of those two main lawyers.
00:06:42.420 The other one is Michael Gottlieb.
00:06:44.660 But Ezra Hudson has signed all the statements from Blake Lively.
00:06:48.820 And as I spoke about the other day, there's a post on there.
00:06:51.320 There was a post on their LinkedIn page celebrating Ezra Hudson's win or victory in this case.
00:06:58.960 They said that she was a part of negotiating this victory for Blake Lively when she received zero money and withdrew all her last three claims.
00:07:08.580 Anyway, so this is really interesting because as Eumonia here is saying, is that Ryan Reynolds
00:07:15.160 got in touch with Ezra Hudson because he knew that she knew California housing and employment
00:07:23.300 law really well.
00:07:25.520 In this article, she explains how Ezra Hudson knew how to use section 47.1 strategically.
00:07:34.320 47.1 is the law that all these lawyers keep talking about all the time which is basically
00:07:40.660 the me too law. That is the law that prevents people from suing you back if you sue someone
00:07:48.900 first for SH. So that law is made to protect victims so they can actually stand up for
00:07:56.860 themselves and sue someone for a toxic work environment or for speaking up about SH in
00:08:03.020 the workplace. As you know, Justin Baldoni's lawsuit against Blake, Ryan and Leslie Sloan was
00:08:08.420 dismissed. And here this journalist is suggesting that Ryan Reynolds knew about this law, how it was
00:08:15.060 in the works. Remember that 17-point list that Blake pushed the Wayfair parties to sign for her
00:08:22.400 to return to work? Well, they sent that list of 17 points already in November of 2023. That was
00:08:30.540 before this law was finalized. It was finalized in the beginning of January 2024. And this
00:08:38.380 journalist is saying that Ezra Hudson recognized that problem, that they needed this 17 point list
00:08:47.020 to be signed after that law was finalized in California. And that's why they had this extra
00:08:55.260 meeting on January 4th in the penthouse. And that's why they waited even to get the Wayfair
00:09:03.160 parties to sign this legally. And as you know, that 17-point list, that was made by Blake Lively's
00:09:10.140 attorneys. Or Ezra Hudson, as I now believe, was the person also behind that list. Because they
00:09:17.180 knew that whatever they did to Justin Baldoni, if they got them to sign this list, then they were
00:09:24.640 safe, then they had this shield that he could never come after them. And she's saying here that
00:09:30.820 this is exactly what Ryan Reynolds did, and that's why he used Ezra Hudson. She also claims here that
00:09:39.220 Hudson encouraged amicus briefs and public advocacy framing Baldoni as another example of a powerful
00:09:46.300 man retaliating against a woman who spoke out. Remember that Blake Lively received letters? I
00:09:54.000 I think it was from 19 women's organizations, remember that?
00:09:58.440 I think it's a year ago, about a year ago now, that they had reached out to 19 women's
00:10:04.600 groups.
00:10:05.320 And of course, when Ezra Hudson called these women's groups saying, hey, I am representing 0.99
00:10:10.920 Blake Lively, a big movie star.
00:10:13.380 And as you know, I am a big believer in the Me Too law.
00:10:17.920 Here, can you sign these amicus briefs?
00:10:20.500 Can you sign these letters to tell the judge how important this case is for all other victims?
00:10:27.040 And that's what they did.
00:10:28.900 Nineteen organizations signed letters and sent to the judge.
00:10:33.700 They, of course, went public with this.
00:10:36.480 And the LA Times did a story about it saying Blake Lively backed by advocacy groups in
00:10:41.540 legal fight with Justin Baldoni over Me Too speech.
00:10:46.020 OK, so why did Ryan Reynolds do all of this?
00:10:48.640 because he wanted to take over the movie.
00:10:51.760 We've known that for a while now.
00:10:53.980 And as I said yesterday, I recently spoke to a person
00:10:57.660 who worked with Ryan Reynolds on a movie.
00:11:00.160 I'm trying to get her on my hair on my channel.
00:11:02.460 But she also told me how Ryan Reynolds was trying to take over the movie
00:11:07.180 that she worked with him on.
00:11:09.680 He kept changing the script.
00:11:12.820 He kept pushing the director in other directions.
00:11:16.000 He kept being so involved that all the other actors that was involved in the movie were
00:11:21.680 starting to really lose their patience with him, saying, like, who's in charge here, really?
00:11:26.680 And as you know, he took over the Deadpool movie, the director left, he didn't want to
00:11:30.920 work with him anymore.
00:11:32.140 There's so many stories like that.
00:11:35.420 And this time, Ryan saw the opportunity to do the same for his wife.
00:11:41.400 And when he started pushing for changes in the script,
00:11:44.880 you know, he rewrote that rooftop scene really early on.
00:11:48.320 And Justin Baldoni was like pushing back and saying like,
00:11:51.280 I don't know, I'm not sure about these changes that you made.
00:11:54.560 That's when Ryan's rage started growing, saying like,
00:11:59.260 hey, I know my versions are better than yours.
00:12:02.160 You should better listen to me.
00:12:03.860 But let's pretend that these are Blake's ideas.
00:12:07.560 Let's pretend that all of this is just Blake ideas.
00:12:11.400 And I'll just be the puppeteer in the background, making all these people do what I want them to do.
00:12:16.680 As you know, we've seen a lot of the text messages and emails from Ryan pushing people in the industry to do as he wants to pretend that they're also supporting his wife.
00:12:27.500 So by using this law, Ryan Reynolds also protected himself from liability.
00:12:33.660 He protected himself from Justin Baldoni because Blake Lively was also a part of that lawsuit.
00:12:38.920 And as you know, she spoke up about a toxic work environment.
00:12:43.200 So Ryan got Ezra Hudson to use these activist groups he himself pushed for the media narrative.
00:12:50.020 And of course, as you know, they used the New York Times to launch all of this publicly.
00:12:54.960 But what Ryan had never experienced before is that someone actually stood up against him.
00:13:00.920 Because as you could see from all the texts and emails, people were afraid of Ryan Reynolds.
00:13:06.560 Most people just bowed to him and did whatever he asked them to do.
00:13:11.000 But Justin Baldoni did not do that.
00:13:13.780 And that is where Ryan Reynolds miscalculated everything.
00:13:18.140 Yes, so that's the part of this article that I really wanted to mention to you guys.
00:13:22.320 And as I said, you should go and read it yourself.
00:13:25.120 I'll leave a link below.
00:13:26.460 This also put Ezra Hudson in another category, I think.
00:13:30.380 I felt like she was unethical to begin with.
00:13:33.220 And if you remember, if you watched my interview with my attorney, John Genga, he also spoke about her, that he was so disappointed in her and that she could come out and claim victory after all of this that had happened.
00:13:46.280 But now, after reading all of this, it makes so much sense to me. 0.59
00:13:50.600 And I think Ezra Hudson is a horrible, horrible attorney.
00:13:55.060 And unfortunately, this all makes a lot of sense to me.
00:13:59.440 And now, as you know, Ryan is trying to just distance himself from all of this and he made
00:14:06.060 sure that the rumors are out there that he was the one who pressured Blake Lively to
00:14:11.140 settle because now he's pretending that he wasn't the person behind all of this.
00:14:16.400 And to be honest with you, from what I've seen of Blake Lively, I don't think she's
00:14:20.640 capable of doing all of this.
00:14:22.580 They need someone more schemey, someone like Ryan Reynolds, who's done the same thing so
00:14:28.600 many times before. And that's also why he thought he could get away with it this time. Okay, before
00:14:35.520 I go, I wanted also to mention this article, which is really interesting from Puck, the Hollywood
00:14:40.880 newsletter that I've spoken about here a few times before. They always do really solid reporting.
00:14:46.140 They call it Live and Let Lively or Let Lively. And they're talking about her brands and what a
00:14:53.520 disaster this entire lawsuit and of course what happened with it ends with us and the promotion
00:15:00.220 of it ends with us that was so tone deaf how it harmed these brands it is much worse than we
00:15:06.080 actually thought so they mentioned at first how she came back to the Met Gala trying to repair
00:15:11.520 her reputation or trying to make everyone forget what she actually did and she's like hey I'm here 0.90
00:15:16.880 in a beautiful dress and I was actually invited by Anna Winter don't believe the rumors that I paid 0.73
00:15:21.920 $100,000 to get access to this event because I was her guest. Anyways, as this reporter is pointing
00:15:28.300 out that the damage was already done has been done to Blake and her brands and it really won't help
00:15:35.160 her if she shows up at the Met Gala with beautiful hair because Blake Brown has taken a huge hit and
00:15:42.220 might never come back from this. It says here that just two years ago, Blake Brown was the biggest
00:15:48.100 hair care launch in Target's history, with close to $20 million in sales in its first three months.
00:15:53.520 At the time, the retailer projected it would become $100 million or so business in its first
00:16:00.620 year. And now they've spoken to someone here that's familiar with Blake Brown, and they're
00:16:05.160 saying that right now the brand is doing about $90,000 per week at Target, a figure that has
00:16:14.440 steadily declined. This puts it toward the bottom of the list of Target haircare brands,
00:16:22.100 this person said, adding, I can't imagine Blake Brown will last long and I don't think anyone
00:16:27.940 else will take them. And they're saying here, so yes, the Target honeymoon was short-lived. While
00:16:34.440 most brands planned for a 20-30% dip within six or so weeks post-launch, sales of Blake Brown were
00:16:42.300 down by close to 90%. Earlier this month, I noticed, but was unable to verify, reports online
00:16:50.280 about people finding Blake Brown at TJ Maxx. And they're saying here that the beauty manufacturer
00:16:56.760 and incubator behind Blake Brown, they're called Give Back Beauty, wants out of the brand. According
00:17:03.300 to a source with first-hand knowledge of the situation, Give Back Beauty has been trying to
00:17:08.540 get out of the deal since last year if the brand continue on its current trajectory a target wine
00:17:15.780 and target winds up dropping lately lively's line it would have to rely on a tiny direct to customer
00:17:22.340 business which would further complicate the challenge of finding a buyer so then i guess
00:17:28.300 she'll just start selling the hair care line online so you have to go to the website to order 0.92
00:17:34.500 it and here they're saying so where does all of this leave lively an actress who most reliable
00:17:40.240 ascent in recent years was her marriage to likable i would say likable like this actor
00:17:46.260 husband ryan reynolds yes they say here reynolds reputation has also suffered as baldone gate has
00:17:54.460 played out but at least his aviation gin had a 610 million exit and he's still a co-owner of the
00:18:01.460 wales-based rexham association and they say and they end this saying for now her acting career
00:18:07.880 seems to be shaky recall that sony's executive candace assessments yes we do remember what the
00:18:14.980 people said and her future as a celebrity celebrity entrepreneur entrepreneur seems to be heading in 0.99
00:18:21.940 the same direction who can forget when the sony execs called her epic level stupid and a terrorist 0.97
00:18:31.860 Anyways, her non-alcoholic beverage brand Betty Bus quietly shuddered last year. 0.99
00:18:37.540 And according to court documents, her ready-to-drink cocktail line Betty Booze tanked in the second half of 2024
00:18:44.880 when it generated only one-third of the revenue it earned in the preceding four months.
00:18:52.700 This is my favorite part at the end here.
00:18:55.220 Recent reports suggest that Lively and Reynolds were considering moving to the UK to start over.
00:19:02.140 Who's going to tell them that Europe still has access to the internet?
00:19:08.200 I love that.
00:19:10.000 That was really funny.
00:19:11.560 Thank you for ending that article like that.
00:19:14.160 And that's also how I'm going to end this episode.
00:19:16.540 Thank you again so much for watching, you guys.
00:19:19.600 And if you're new here or if you haven't watched my last few episodes,
00:19:23.140 I am in Spain right now and that's why my studio look like this and that's also why I look so tired
00:19:29.960 and jet lagged and I have allergies so my eyes are puffy but I'm trying my best to stay awake
00:19:35.880 and to keep you guys updated and I really appreciate again all your support and if you
00:19:40.980 haven't subscribed yet please do and hit the notification bell so you never miss an episode
00:19:45.260 of Flossom Talk and I'll see you soon.
00:19:53.140 Amen.
