00:01:02.960 attempt to suppress uh the exercise of free speech not just of the individuals involved in this lawsuit

00:01:36.580 of texas a few years ago but if i'm going to be honest this was before i was i mean i was still in

00:01:41.740 college uh i wasn't overly politically inclined yet i wasn't really keeping up with what was going on

00:01:48.520 and so i had the pleasure of getting to meet you recently and and rehear about what you and your

00:01:54.960 family went through um and so i could not be more grateful for you for your voice for your bold and

00:02:01.260 unapologetic stand uh but i wanted to give you the opportunity to just uh refresh a lot of us i'm sure a lot

00:02:08.140 of people already know but refresh a lot of us about what you went through uh what's been going

00:02:13.740 on now gosh i mean i guess these past three four years um since the incident yes riley thank you so

00:02:43.220 being sued by biden's white house officials and a democrat politician in federal court under the

00:02:51.240 ku klux klan law of 1871 for exercising free speech which was in support of president trump that offended

00:03:01.720 these individuals so the biden harris campaign staffers were driving in a campaign bus during

00:03:08.600 the 2020 election early election time we drove next to them on the road with a trump flag in a

00:03:15.080 trump train formation we made viral news trump tweeted about it he talked about how awesome it was we

00:03:20.060 thought it was an awesome way to show our support in texas like you i wasn't really political it was

00:03:25.060 just fun for me and then getting sued for that zero criminal charges just learning that they were

00:03:33.420 infringing on a constitutional right to free speech that we had to exercise the same way they did

00:03:37.860 just rocked my socks and i thought i gotta do something about this and so four years later we

00:03:43.260 have been battling this in federal court oh my gosh so you mentioned this this this i guess um

00:03:51.860 law however you want to word it that that you're being sued under but the reports i have read are

00:03:58.020 are basically they're suing for like emotional distress yeah so what's crazy to me riley is law

00:04:04.500 fair was not a term i knew a few years ago uh and i didn't even understand it was happening to me until

00:04:10.720 we started reaching out to law firms to help represent us and attorneys and first amendment rights

00:04:15.740 nonprofits were saying oh we don't want to represent you or get involved because this is law fair and the

00:04:21.180 intent is to punish you with the process and to drag it out as long as possible and make it cost all

00:04:25.560 this money and so when we were looking at the law they were using this kupla plan law it's archaic it

00:04:31.440 from 150 years ago republicans actually put this law into place to protect people of color who were at the

00:04:37.500 time recently emancipated from slavery and seeking to work go to school and vote and so we're like why is

00:04:46.060 this the law that they're using against us this is really curious that this of all laws would be the

00:04:50.840 law that they would pick and now in the past four years we've seen them use the same law against

00:04:56.040 president trump for january 6th brandon stratka with the walkaway campaign it's the same law that was

00:05:01.920 used against doug mackie who was facing 10 years prison time for the hillary clinton meme they are suing

00:05:07.780 dinesh d'souza and true the vote for their 2000 mules documentary so the same individuals have

00:05:14.760 concocted this little blueprint or recipe to infringe on free speech rights that they don't

00:05:19.800 like and to try to squash it and so when we realize that this is a test balloon they're trying to push

00:05:25.820 out to silence free speech in america we're like oh no not on our watch somebody has to fight this so

00:05:32.520 who better than a homeschool mom no one better uh to answer your question there is no one better

00:05:39.400 um it's amazing to see i mean as you said you're you're you're just a mom uh this is never something

00:05:46.440 that you wanted this is never something you you sought after uh so there really could not be anyone

00:05:52.700 better or more suited to to set the precedent that hey we cannot back down um i think this is crazy

00:06:09.620 in the way that you do politically have you always aligned conservative no what's so crazy i just um

00:06:17.980 was sharing with breitbart that i didn't know if i was going to vote for biden or trump in 2020 that is

00:06:25.760 how disconnected i was my son was in public school i was drinking starbucks i'm shopping at

00:06:31.320 target you know that was my idea of a good time and a good education and it wasn't until this

00:06:37.340 knocked on my door that i realized i had to figure out what was important to me i had to start taking

00:06:43.680 seriously what was going on in our culture what was going on in our world how it was impacting our

00:06:48.840 our child and i had to get ahead of it i wanted to be the one to set the pace in our household and to

00:06:54.240 be the one to decide what our child learned and that those values would come from the bible

00:06:58.920 and so i had to start going in reverse and learning things backwards and then try to recover ground

00:07:04.140 with my child unschool him homeschool him uh you know now i drink my own milk um like i had milked my

00:07:12.280 own goat and had raw milk in my own latte like that is how far backwards i've gone um making my own bread

00:07:19.160 and all that and so there's there's no denying that i'm voting for trump a third time the upcoming

00:07:26.340 election there's i mean nothing like getting sued by one party to push you into the other so all the

00:07:31.440 time i thank them for helping me find a voice to express myself and to teach others how to do the

00:07:37.400 same and to find courage in a terrifying situation which we've seen silent with several other defendants

00:07:42.920 that were alongside of us who folded apologized settled um because there's just too much for them

00:07:47.900 but god has been our strength and we find joy and purpose in it so now we're extremely conservative

00:08:22.580 for good reason i will say i don't blame a lot of these people i i understand uh the hurdles or i guess

00:09:08.880 nationalist threats to democracy um whoopi goldberg in the view said that first we'd fly trump flag

00:09:15.100 next to the biden bus but later we'd be burning crosses in people's front yards and i'm thinking

00:09:19.220 to myself what's happening that i don't even have a voice to advocate for myself my child was scared

00:09:24.780 that we were going to get taken from him that he'd get taken away we were getting death threats hate

00:09:29.900 mail people were threatening to rape me it was it was insane the way that the left was

00:09:36.860 essentially told to hate us and then they acted on that um just from the media and so god has really

00:09:45.140 had to do a big work in us to continue to give us faith and joy and hope that we look forward

00:11:44.400 that was willing to take us the only one willing to do it and we decided to fight back and so after

00:11:50.440 you know almost four years of litigation every time our bill has come through we've been able to pay

00:11:55.960 it thanks to the help of we the people fundraising um our legal defense fund and we expect to see a

00:12:02.100 victory in court by using the same evidence they plan to use against us to vindicate ourselves

00:12:08.320 ourselves and show their conspiracy he's being prosecuted federally uh by biden's department

00:12:14.360 of justice uh again just really insane stuff that is affecting people who never sought this out um

00:13:18.200 conversation here i'm really excited to speak on it i want to just bounce back to the doctor really

00:13:23.460 quick and say that he decided to fight because he wanted to bring meaning and purpose to this that

00:13:28.060 has knocked on his door and i think that's what that's exactly what you did that is what i've done

00:13:32.800 i love that this man is doing it and i love watching average people rise up around the nation and say oh

00:13:38.840 not on my watch what do you pick the wrong one and so that gives me courage watching other people

00:13:44.120 and we get to link arms when we jump over to the topic of these labels that is definitely an

00:13:51.760 intentional attack uh creating division and civil unrest in our nation and neighbor to neighbor

00:13:58.620 right just creating a red line in the sand uh and championing this name calling and this disrespect

00:14:04.660 and not seeing your neighbor or your peer as um somebody worth respecting but we've seen it go so much

00:14:11.360 farther than that riley the people suing us have hired quote-unquote experts these are you know ivy league

00:14:18.980 professors and they've assembled this team that has followed us and reported on us for over a year

00:14:27.200 to portray us on paper as political extremists christian nationalists and threats to democracy

00:14:33.800 and then interestingly enough these same expert witnesses are testifying in trials and hearings

00:14:40.540 against trump to try to keep him off the ballot and saying that his followers are political extremists

00:14:46.680 and he's unconstitutionally fit to be on the ballot so what it seems like to me is that this is a very

00:14:53.040 very elaborate narrative to interfere with presidential elections and to influence um culture and then

00:15:02.620 we're just collateral damage in that yeah and they don't care no or if if uh the american people i mean

00:15:14.340 who they are elected to represent and protect that's their only job is to protect and to to provide

00:15:21.420 limited right provision but that that's what their job is they are failing miserably they do not care if

00:15:28.560 we have become collateral damage in the process um have you struggled with you know obviously we we've been

00:15:34.840 speaking of uh the suppression of speech and the freedom of such have you struggled with media suppression

00:15:43.420 when i mean getting the word out and spreading awareness of what happened to you and your family

00:15:50.560 yeah that has been the most frustrating part i think of this whole thing because initially when we drove

00:15:56.760 next to the biden bus that broke the internet it was viral news for two weeks i think there was an

00:16:01.500 ethical news station or social media channel it was not on people were like this awesome some of our

00:16:06.700 favorite influencers and the biggest platforms i can only wish to tell our story on

00:16:10.420 were sharing it and then it wasn't until eight months later that they slipped it in under the

00:16:16.720 radar that they were suing us for that they waited till they got in the white house then they decided

00:16:20.580 they had emotional damage and then you know they sued us and then i'm reaching out to all these news

00:16:24.520 outlets and influencers saying remember that video you shared that was me i was there now i'm getting

00:16:28.340 sued for it and i was getting zero response or if i was getting a response it was like that's not

00:16:34.420 really the kind of story we're looking for or we don't really want to get involved with that

00:16:38.080 and so it was really disheartening that the left used mainstream media to announce the lawsuit

00:16:43.580 that's how i found out i was getting sued well before i was ever served paperwork i had somebody

00:16:48.120 sending me a cnn video talking about it and so then i'm trying to reach out to right media and then

00:16:55.160 nobody's picking up the story and we don't have a voice to counter these lies and i don't know if you

00:16:59.520 remember this but the biggest lie was that we ran the biden bus off the road that was like their

00:17:04.220 favorite that biden bumbled it on a podium right he said did you see all those trump supporters run

00:17:09.400 my bus off the road it never happened but then everybody took it and ran with it and in fact

00:17:16.440 what happened that day riley is there was a biden staffer in a white car following the bus and it

00:17:21.560 hit a truck with the trump flag it wasn't a bad accident it was just kind of like they kind of

00:17:26.140 sideswiped each other the car exited its lane hit a truck with the trump flag and bounced back and they

00:17:30.140 kept driving down the road but mainstream media took that clip on a loop and only showed the truck

00:17:34.700 the car back and said we were playing bumper cars and ramming people off the road i wasn't even there

00:17:39.940 i didn't see that i didn't find out about that till later that was not my truck but being in litigation

00:17:45.820 we have the witness that took that video the man in the truck the man in the car the fbi investigated

00:17:51.340 the biden staffer caused the accident but mainstream media is not walking that back and saying oopsies

00:17:56.460 it was actually biden staffers that were trying to run trump supporters off the road

00:18:00.260 they're still continuing this narrative and we even have footage from inside the bus where the bus

00:18:05.300 driver and uh wendy davis who was running for congress at the time and she's also run for governor

00:18:11.320 of texas they're talking about wanting to run the trump supporters off the highway with the bus using

00:18:18.120 expletive or bad word calling us names and so they're actually making these threats they're doing

00:18:25.360 what they're lying and saying that we were doing but we don't have a voice to advocate for ourselves

00:19:27.060 picked a fight for or wanted or mattered to me i i really sincerely didn't even know that i had a

00:19:33.780 right to free speech under the constitution in the bill of rights under the first amendment i had no idea

00:19:39.300 until i got sued again i worked in reverse and started learning i have these rights people died for me to have

00:19:45.120 these rights to establish our freedoms in this country because they so believed in it they put

00:19:48.620 their lives on the line and it came back from jesus dying to establish us being free so i have to take

00:19:53.640 this seriously and then it started to impact every area of life i have to fight to defend free speech

00:20:01.260 for the people that want to use it to be hateful to me i have to defend it for my child so that he can

00:20:06.640 go out and have the free life that we enjoyed as children um and then i start looking around at our

00:20:12.960 culture in my local town and it's broken our city council is not doing their job our library boards

00:20:18.580 not doing their job our school boards not doing their job and they are saying that it's free speech

00:20:24.480 to be able to uh pander sexually explicit content to children via these books that they have on the

00:20:31.460 shelves and then so i'm fighting to defend free speech at the federal level while also fighting to say

00:20:36.460 that is not what free speech is for and so god has just really opened my eyes to see

00:20:41.720 free speech has been neglected and and really truly so christians and conservatives love to defend

00:20:48.540 religious freedoms under the first amendment all the first amendment rights nonprofits we reached out

00:20:52.820 to for help said oh i'm sorry we focus on religious freedoms so conservatives have turned a blind eye to

00:20:57.660 freedom of speech we have a hole in the armor the left is ending for it and they're dismantling the

00:21:01.720 family unit they're dismantling our rights they're dismantling our elections they're dismantling

00:21:05.660 our our freedoms to be able to petition the government and so i'm over here thinking wow

00:21:11.940 well somebody's gotta do it so god give me the courage and strength to inspire other people to

00:21:17.400 want to come on this journey with us and so we founded free speech defender and we hope to create a

00:21:23.340 movement of people that want to defend free speech and when we realized nobody wanted to get on board

00:21:28.400 to help us except we the people then we knew that we would there would be a day that we'd have to

00:21:34.680 help other people there we surely are not going to be the only people whose freedom of speech is under

00:21:38.520 attack and we see it happening all in america right now and so we hope to be able to help other

00:21:44.380 people defend their right to free speech legally also once we can get through this and ensure victory

00:21:49.000 and set the precedent at the federal level amazing uh i love how you mentioned yeah you're fighting at

00:21:55.180 the federal level but you're fighting at the local level in the state level uh which a lot of the

00:22:00.720 times is more corrupt more hijacked than even i don't think a lot of people realize that especially

00:22:08.500 living in texas right like a lot of people probably think i'm from tennessee it's the same way here where

00:22:13.060 a lot of people think yeah i live in a conservative state uh i don't have to worry about my school board

00:22:18.000 we're fine yes you are i would say i would argue that you are the most susceptible uh to to allowing

00:22:25.040 yourself to be uh co-opted in that way uh so fighting at the local level so important uh what's

00:22:32.760 your message to the everyday people like yourself who think naively that this could never happen to them

00:22:41.800 oh riley i am living proof that if it can happen to trump it can happen to you um it is not something

00:22:50.160 some far off concept it's been happening to me for four years i was actually experiencing some of this

00:22:55.420 welfare even before it hit trump not to say that he hasn't been experiencing persecution from all angles

00:23:01.300 but some of his cases are fairly newer and ours has been ongoing since 2020 and so i'm here to say it

00:23:08.240 absolutely can't happen to you but that does not mean we need to live in fear or we need to crawl

00:23:13.140 under a rock or we need to walk back our basic rights that means we need to start exercising our

00:23:19.760 rights even stronger making that muscle firmer and that we need to encourage other people around us to

00:23:25.560 educate themselves to know learn and to defend our basic right this is the time to do it while they're

00:23:31.700 trying to take it and it doesn't mean you don't have to be qualified to do it i certainly was not

00:23:36.920 god is qualifying me along the way it just takes a willing heart a learning mind and an openness

00:23:43.140 to say i don't know how to do that but i'm going to figure it out city council sounds terrifying but

00:23:47.120 i'm going to sit here until i understand what's going on i'm going to go and read their job

00:23:51.140 description so that i can figure out they're not doing their jobs right i'm going to go see what

00:23:55.000 books are on the shelf in the library and then i'm going to go read it to them and show them what

00:23:58.960 they're exposing our children to and then i'm going to tell other parents right it's just

00:24:02.140 it's taking what is in your hand and what's around and what's accessible and maximizing it

00:24:07.100 and allowing god to do something through you and just choosing to be courageous and allowing god

00:24:31.260 founded our nation and made it great and it's our job even as moms even as women even as girl

00:24:35.860 uh we have a big role in this and i think that we've heard that expression you know strong times

00:24:41.760 create weak men weak men create strong times that's kind of the cycle i think we've also seen that

00:24:47.300 it creates strong women and women come out with a voice and they come out fighting for what's right 0.88

00:25:00.480 i like admire you and your ability to learn to do the the work that no one wants to do uh to call out the hypocrisy
