00:05:19.200 or podium spots from rightful, deserving girls.

00:05:25.400 It happened in California, Oregon, and Maine.

00:05:54.980 how the mother had sent a cease and desist
00:05:57.260 to anyone really who was willing to talk about this,
00:06:00.240 who was willing to oppose Hernandez's participation

00:06:48.720 She's the president of California Justice Center.
00:06:51.420 She critiques California's radical gender identity politics,
00:06:56.540 and I think especially, as of recently,
00:06:59.540 has had major conflict with their federal Title IX protections
00:07:03.420 and how they interpret this federal law.

00:07:09.200 But anyways, this video went viral of her.

00:07:32.900 what we've seen over these past few years,
00:07:34.820 what the nation has really been able to see
00:07:37.040 over the past few weeks surrounding A.B. Hernandez.
00:07:40.940 President Trump, of course, he tweeted in true Trump fashion.
00:07:44.540 You know, he's using all caps.
00:07:45.680 It's in, like, the middle of the night,
00:07:47.280 early morning, like he does.
00:07:48.740 But just perfectly stated, look, you know,
00:07:52.780 Title IX is in effect.
00:07:54.040 It is federal law.
00:07:54.960 Those who ignore federal law will lose federal funding,
00:07:57.820 or at least we will take every step,
00:07:59.660 every measure that we have to take as president,
00:08:02.960 as, you know, chief executor,
00:08:04.960 to make sure this doesn't continue to happen
00:08:07.200 to girls across the nation.
00:08:09.020 So fantastic stuff.
00:08:10.320 But you, over the past week or so,
00:08:13.520 really had this viral interaction on CNN.
00:08:16.900 We've got the clip.
00:08:18.580 Let's play it really briefly.
00:08:20.340 What would make this fair for her to compete
00:08:24.800 for those who are competing against her?
00:08:27.260 What would that kind of structure in competition look like?

00:08:40.680 A.B. Hernandez is a male who identifies as a female.
00:08:43.700 What would be fair is to have Hernandez competing

00:08:56.160 So in Trump's federal funding threat,

00:09:00.500 that would hurt all student athletes,
00:09:02.380 including athletes who are assigned female at birth?
00:09:06.380 Would his federal funding threat hurt athletes?

00:09:22.540 that do not abide Title IX or other federal laws

00:09:28.560 So that's not Trump's fault.

00:09:45.620 Like, she has a really hard time

00:09:48.620 articles from conservative outlets
00:09:50.360 when they're using preferred pronouns,
00:09:54.000 what I would describe as actually misgendering people

00:10:00.240 Or even the verbiage of trans woman.
00:10:02.180 Like, my grandparents can't comprehend
00:10:03.740 what that even means.
00:10:05.300 So it was just so perfect.

00:10:11.280 What's been your response this past week or so?

00:10:21.280 that the things I said on CNN

00:10:28.140 I just spoke the simple truth
00:10:30.360 and I listened to the questions
00:10:32.740 that the anchor asked me
00:10:34.280 and I responded very carefully.

00:10:37.760 I don't think that
00:10:39.760 that was such a unique, special thing
00:10:43.120 that it needed to go viral.
00:10:44.320 And the fact that it did
00:10:45.540 tells me our society
00:10:46.740 is in a really bad and dangerous place
00:10:48.900 because people are longing for truth.
00:10:51.180 They want to hear truth.
00:10:52.980 They want authenticity
00:10:54.500 and they're being fed

00:10:59.720 that a girl cannot become a boy.

00:11:04.180 This issue of males in female sports
00:11:06.920 is very simple.
00:11:08.700 We're falling all over ourselves

00:11:12.100 do X, Y, Z,
00:11:13.060 to respect people's feelings.
00:11:14.760 But the simple truth is
00:11:16.140 there are boys
00:11:16.800 and there are girls.
00:11:17.800 There are separate categories
00:11:19.340 for these athletes to compete in.
00:11:21.260 And there has been
00:11:22.780 since at least 1972.
00:11:24.820 We're not going to eradicate girls' sports.
00:11:27.780 We're not going to eliminate Title IX.
00:11:29.920 Stop falling all over yourselves
00:11:31.460 to try to please one particular person

00:11:36.940 about one particular person's feelings.
00:11:39.320 While you're doing that,

00:11:41.560 the entirety of girls' sports.

00:12:03.760 are still desperate for the truth.

00:15:16.080 to allow males

00:15:18.060 female spaces,

00:15:21.840 said that subverts
00:15:23.640 the purpose
00:15:24.320 of Title IX.
00:15:25.480 That flies in the face
00:15:26.820 of the plain language
00:15:28.100 of the statute.
00:15:29.420 You cannot do that
00:15:30.720 and therefore
00:15:31.240 they vacated
00:15:32.200 those Title IX regs.

00:16:56.960 as Pride Month
