00:00:00.000 Hello, everyone. How's it going, Mr. Barber? How's everybody doing out there today? Welcome
00:00:28.300 to episode 13 of house arrest with chris and tamara i'm coming at you live from a hotel room
00:00:34.700 in calvary alberta i'm up here on a work exemption to attend a conservative convention this weekend
00:00:40.220 and chris is coming at you live from his basement because we're on house arrest i'm like a liberal
00:00:45.900 troll right now i'm hiding in my no it's actually my basement but hey same thing it's not your mom's
00:00:51.260 basement i wasn't working today jonathan i spent the afternoon in the shop today fixing some
00:00:56.860 equipment it's uh kind of our slow period right now so we're getting caught up on the maintenance
00:01:00.860 and doing a lot of the stuff that doesn't get done regularly so took a combine header down south of
00:01:06.220 shaunavan or north of shaunavan today and that was my trucking duty so i think i have the full
00:01:11.340 day for tomorrow and you are in calgary that is awesome there's a awesome amazing group of people
00:01:18.060 gathered there i hear yeah i'm really looking forward to getting there tomorrow to see everyone
00:01:24.060 obviously uh the opening ceremonies were tonight and i didn't need to be there so i and of course
00:01:29.180 i wanted to stay back for the show so i was able to do that which i'm very glad for because we have
00:01:33.740 amazing guests this evening i'm very so very excited um to introduce you guys to our good
00:01:40.220 friends um i guess is there before we bring them on chris is there anything related to
00:01:45.260 your appropriation officer or any of that stuff that you want to talk about how things are going
00:01:51.020 for you under your house arrest i did a couple i did a video tonight but we were we were served
00:01:56.860 with another application today from an ottawa resident and i think we can bring this up and
00:02:02.700 have this quick conversation before we bring our guests on um this application was brought as of
00:02:08.220 yesterday in ottawa from a restaurant owner in the downtown core in centerville i believe it is
00:02:14.540 i'm not going to give the name of the restaurant i know or the person involved with it
00:02:17.820 But he has filed an application with the courts, with Justice Perkins McVeigh, our judge, this page, I think it's 30 pages, something like that, to have unsealed all 4,200 pages of my cell phone evidence that the Crown has used.
00:02:36.000 know um why he wants that i i'm just reading through it and it's pretty these people won't
00:02:43.980 quit they just keep coming and coming and coming and they won't stop until it's utter devastation
00:02:48.600 on our side or destruction or whatever it may be it was four years ago sorry but i'm gonna we're
00:02:55.420 gonna fight this so i've instructed the lawyer to gather information as we can and we're gonna get
00:03:00.520 this guy on the stand and we're gonna cross-examine the living daylights out of him and
00:03:03.840 uh i know what his purpose is paul champ downtown ottawa lawyer he is behind this he has been
00:03:09.920 well we all know the story so there that's just off my chest right now that's well
00:03:15.580 and you know the frustrating thing is i mean how the four judges have found that the indication of
00:03:23.860 the uh emergencies act was unlawful and so they keep to keep they're just going to keep coming
00:03:31.100 out of the woodwork i think i don't know um just so you guys are aware i'm in a hotel room in
00:03:35.900 downtown calgary so my i don't think my wi-fi is that great if you see me bump off uh chris is
00:03:40.700 going to be in charge and i'll just keep trying to get back in so if you i may i may freeze up
00:03:45.420 i'm not sure if it's me or chris that's freezing but uh that may happen okay well my and my week
00:03:52.620 um it's been good obviously i got an exemption to come to come to work i had a work exemption
00:03:58.300 last night to go, I went and reported on the Stay Free Alberta petition signing in Medicine
00:04:04.240 Hat. They had over 2,000 people there go through throughout the day, is what one of the organizers
00:04:10.180 told me. So yeah, I mean, for Medicine Hat, that's very successful. And it was when I
00:04:16.080 was there, when they were getting ready for the speakers, it was completely packed. So
00:04:20.680 my first Rebel video should be coming out here sometime this evening. So I'm pretty
00:04:25.420 excited about that nice shout out to the editors there because they can they can sure work some
00:04:32.080 magic it was a bit rough um my good friend our good friend cindy parker one of the ladies who
00:04:39.060 was on our original finance committee as well as the social media committee as well as everything
00:04:43.440 else we needed her to do um was gracious enough to come down with me and help me with the camera
00:04:48.740 work so it's pretty rough it's pretty raw i'm definitely a rookie but it can only can only
00:04:54.020 get better from here, I guess.
00:04:56.120 Well, that's good.
00:04:56.760 What have we got here?
00:04:58.180 I just want to scroll through the comments and see who we got here.
00:05:00.920 I want to smoke this right here.
00:05:02.700 Hey, Kevin, why do you think we deserve jail time?
00:05:05.460 Just because we hurt your feelings?
00:05:07.080 Was the government not approaching on your civil liberties enough?
00:05:10.540 And you were like, ooh, I love 1930s Germany and Canada.
00:05:15.220 You people are disgusting.
00:05:16.660 I just want to say that.
00:05:17.640 And the fact that you would take the time out of your day to listen to this show and
00:05:20.620 comment something as ridiculous as this, I hope you don't have children.
00:05:24.660 let's just say that and if you did have children i bet you have too much time on their hands
00:05:28.900 yeah exactly have a good day kevin okay who we got here gary woodley from huntsville ontario one of
00:05:38.740 my favorite places in the whole world christy's here let's see who else we got here shaylin's
00:05:47.060 back nice to see you shaylen welcome trapper bob from north dakota amazing val jean is coming at us
00:05:57.860 from sudbury we don't have mods we're good exactly okay free expression i already did jail time
00:06:10.820 i mean that's the funny thing i already twice i've done jail time hi susan nice to see you as always
00:06:18.660 susan pardon me everybody just starts going after this guy good job
00:06:28.420 i think um you know it's a really important day today chris uh what day is it today it is january
00:06:34.900 29th 2026 which means four years since the day we rolled into ottawa hey do you remember that day
00:06:42.580 never forget it i did post about it on my ex today with some pictures that i took was we were just
00:06:47.620 coming up onto the hill because i remember i mean you know feeling excited and hopeful but a little
00:06:55.220 bit well a lot anxious actually a little bit nervous because we didn't know what kind of
00:06:59.380 reception we were going to expect once we got up onto the hill we didn't know what to expect
00:07:04.020 actually once we got past the manitoba ontario border you know so and then we got up there and
00:07:10.100 it was just flags a sea of flags and so many people and lots of smiles and just so much hope
00:07:16.660 and you know it was uh yeah good memories today good memories today yeah it sucks you know like
00:07:24.260 i was saying in earlier interviews that i did this week i went through my google videos or photos and
00:07:30.500 And knowing that the governor, the Ottawa Crown's Office, the police officer, they have my phone to this day from February 17th, 2022.
00:07:39.120 And my Google account has been wiped clean from January 23rd to February 26th.
00:07:44.260 There is nothing.
00:07:45.740 It is wiped completely clean.
00:07:47.220 So why are those days?
00:07:49.420 And I have questions and hopefully we get some answers to that now.
00:07:53.240 So I had a pile of videos on there that I'd saved and they're gone.
00:07:57.700 So, thankfully, I mentioned that on a post here earlier this week, and my pages have been all flooded with people's videos of their own during that time.
00:08:07.320 So, I'm very thankful for that.
00:08:08.560 I've been trying to keep up and watch everything, and it's awesome.
00:08:12.320 It's very homelike.
00:08:13.180 So, thank you, everyone.
00:08:15.720 Yes.
00:08:16.740 Well, and I mean, as you know, I mean, the convoy, you know, when we got into Arnfriar, we found out the next day that we were 100 kilometers, just over 100 kilometers long.
00:08:26.100 We were good.
00:08:26.900 got in and which we didn't I mean it was really we stopped a couple times on the
00:08:32.120 highway there which is how we saw you know but we couldn't see the end of it
00:08:35.520 obviously but you know there was a lot of support behind us and and I mean
00:08:41.540 tonight I wanted to dedicate this show to the mechanics because there's a lot
00:08:44.960 of support vehicles that that offered up help immediately there was mechanics
00:08:49.820 there was tow truck drivers all these different types of services that joined
00:08:56.180 the convoy to make sure that we could get there successfully um without any incidents and that we
00:09:01.300 could get there safely especially considering the time of year and so um i'd like to introduce you
00:09:07.460 to two of the mechanics that we know i met brendan i think on the first day brendan addison is coming
00:09:12.900 at us from manitoulin island and he is a great friend of mine we've been so lucky to go visit
00:09:19.060 him in his home uh get a tour of the island if you haven't been to manitoulin island i highly
00:09:24.340 recommend so brendan welcome to house arrest with chris and tamara it's good to see your face buddy
00:09:30.500 nice to see you guys too nice to see you guys coming at us from sam's garage all the way from
00:09:37.220 nova scotia sorry to keep you up so late sam but we're very excited to have you here um brendan
00:09:42.420 is the reason that i got introduced to sound because they were mechanics and i i think you
00:09:46.740 guys met at the convoy or was it did you know each other before the convoy let's start there
00:09:51.380 welcome yeah yeah thanks everybody um excited yeah i got no problem staying up for this kind
00:09:58.240 of stuff this is good uh you know engaging engaging with the people of our country is uh
00:10:03.640 is is the most important thing for me these days and uh yeah we we actually if we formally met in
00:10:09.640 ottawa um brendan and i have a mutual friend in uh washington state um an educator um he's at
00:10:19.340 And where's he teaching now?
00:10:21.700 Do you remember, Brennan?
00:10:24.200 I'm not 100% sure where he's teaching now,
00:10:27.320 but I'm sure the people that he's teaching are very grateful
00:10:32.600 for Brent's knowledge to be passed on to them.
00:10:36.820 Yeah.
00:10:37.440 I met him through snowmobiling at West.
00:10:40.280 He would come up with buddies and right away, you know,
00:10:42.920 when like-minded individuals get together and you can talk the talk,
00:10:47.420 and we formulated a pretty awesome friendship.
00:10:51.060 And when he realized that the two of us were in Ottawa,
00:10:54.560 he was destined to make sure we got together
00:10:57.200 and it was pretty awesome when we got together.
00:11:00.380 Isn't it awesome how it worked?
00:11:02.160 It just goes to show you how small of a world it is
00:11:04.980 when the relationships are reformed
00:11:06.900 and the amount of people that we know
00:11:08.700 with those people that we formed in Ottawa.
00:11:11.200 I see those stories more and more every day.
00:11:13.580 It's amazing.
00:11:15.140 Yeah.
00:11:15.320 yeah so what was it like guys you guys were the mechanics if something went wrong with a motor
00:11:21.480 home a car a truck or you name it you were called at all hours of the night during convoy to go fix
00:11:26.740 something on the side of the road explain that how that worked and and uh how you guys dealt with it
00:11:34.160 you want to go ahead sam well when early on when uh when i was uh when i was hearing about
00:11:44.720 the convoy and i heard we're going to turn ottawa into the largest truck stop in the world
00:11:50.880 and that was that was due to everything that was going on and i just i just felt like all these
00:11:59.520 trucks going to ottawa they're going to need they're going to need this support they're going
00:12:03.680 to need support to get there because i uh i run a business that uh we we repair trucks on the side
00:12:10.160 of the road and everywhere in all conditions so so i actually brought my service truck down
00:12:16.320 to ottawa and and it was just uh another mechanic that works with me he came down too
00:12:22.960 and we were able to uh just as as things progressed and as problems progressed we
00:12:30.640 we handled them and uh it just everything everything to do with the convoy seemed to
00:12:36.640 go like that when there was a need it was like there was always somebody to fill the need and it
00:12:41.440 just it just happened i i don't know quite the word for it but the puzzle pieces just seemed to
00:12:48.800 fit together time after time i uh my my service truck actually uh i had my alternator seized up
00:12:58.560 on the service truck when i was sitting there and uh a guy that was walking down the street
00:13:03.600 i don't know who the gentleman is but he uh he came and uh he seemed that i was working on my
00:13:09.160 service truck and he he offered to go get me the alternator and and he did and he brought back the
00:13:14.300 alternator and then of course as you uh as you tear things apart you find out there's another
00:13:19.080 problem the tensioner pulley was also seized so the guy went back to the dealership and got me a
00:13:25.080 tensioner pulley on his own dime and gave me that pulley and uh and he wouldn't take nothing for it
00:13:31.300 that was just the kind of people that we seen day in and day out at the convoy and that kind of
00:13:37.860 that kind of help that kind of help is what uh what made it what it was people people just kept
00:13:45.460 providing the things we needed when we needed them and uh it was just miracle after miracle
00:13:51.460 it was it was special i remember that yes now brendan you were you were on kent street yeah
00:14:00.500 is it kent street i tried to find a photo of us that we took that black because that was the day
00:14:04.820 that i got arrested the last photo of the week that was yeah it was kent and slater i was at
00:14:10.340 the intersection of kent and slater we call it the chrome teapot yes yeah that's right i tried
00:14:16.740 to find that picture today but i couldn't find it anywhere and i did have some of sam loaded
00:14:20.260 from our trips in nova scotia um a couple years ago but i they all bumped out of here so i think
00:14:26.100 it's okay yeah you'll have to send it to me and sam where were you part i was on wellington street
00:14:34.660 at the uh the library of archives i was pretty much the lady the the last uh the last of the
00:14:41.620 bunch before uh the s jam um right yeah and i mean the camaraderie there wasn't uh there wasn't many
00:14:52.340 hurdles uh the people that were there working it uh couldn't overcome and there was a lot
00:14:59.060 especially through the week when it was really cold you would see you would see the public come
00:15:05.460 out and uh you know uh really really shine you know i so i i had i had a an enclosed trailer
00:15:15.100 um that we had outfitted with my shop well when i found out about it same thing pretty much it's
00:15:21.420 like, well, I was impacted. Our life had changed because of the lockdowns and the mandates and it
00:15:28.220 just wasn't sitting well with me and, you know, participating to the best of my ability and still
00:15:33.660 being let down. I was pretty frustrated and, you know, my father's commercial long haul owner
00:15:41.600 operator for three good marriages. So I knew the open road quite well. Stepfather, he managed a
00:15:50.600 a large shop in southern ontario and you know we the the level of respect that is given um
00:15:58.760 to mechanics by mechanics it's when you know at any hour of the day it doesn't matter your race
00:16:04.840 your sex your ethnicity you call um we're coming to take care of you and your family and when you
00:16:10.920 have to go to work or you know there is an emergency it's it's us that wears it so like 0.51
00:16:17.000 Like Brennan said, when I heard, when I knew, you know, it was pretty, you know, aggressive here in the Maritimes,
00:16:26.380 the overreach and how people were reacting to one another based on the lies being told,
00:16:34.720 or the safe and effective narratives and such, you know, people were taking it to extreme levels.
00:16:43.060 And in the moment, I didn't realize the psychosis that we were all under and how influential and impactful the media was.
00:16:54.460 So anyways, I was I was here and I just wanted to go.
00:16:57.340 So, yeah, we retrofitted an enclosed trailer and backed it into the garage and started thinking, you know, what would you want to go camp in the largest truck stop in Ottawa?
00:17:07.780 um we knew the weather was super cold so it was you know uh fuel filters and service and and and
00:17:15.880 trays and pans and drop pans and it's like i'm not i'm not licensed in the automotive or in the
00:17:22.520 the heavy duty commercial transport i'm i'm an automotive small engine guy but i'm also a farmer
00:17:28.640 and so it's out with the three-quarter gear and you know do we need torches not knowing how many
00:17:34.460 uh cars we would wind up fixing so you know you know do you take a generator no man we got to
00:17:40.860 take two generators because like we're going to some place that we have no idea we started out
00:17:48.140 with a wood stove in the trailer and my brother-in-law's like where exactly are you going
00:17:53.460 to get all this wood from well you're absolutely right so uh you know all of it was on the fly and
00:18:03.220 in our industry that's how that's how we roll you know a lot of times you weren't expecting that
00:18:09.500 bolt to cross thread and it's a it's a vital component that's months away and that truck has
00:18:14.500 to roll today so how are you going to you know look at the situation analyze it to the best of
00:18:22.360 your ability and get that you know get that that boat sailing again get the truck rolling the train
00:18:28.740 whatever it is um and and that's where you know the friendship that brennan and i have have have
00:18:35.300 built throughout this like i'm forever thankful of it like i i feel we feel the same way we're both
00:18:42.820 pretty deadly individuals right like we know you are um hey yeah dude uh it's so cold out there i
00:18:53.440 i'll maybe i'll take you guys for a tour later i tried to knock the snow off the freedom trailer
00:18:57.400 but everything's all laid out um brian one brian and nick and and you know i i think it was nick
00:19:03.860 that it was brian that made the the tags and nick made the the pistons i can't remember how it went
00:19:10.220 one of the one of the other technicians that showed up and offered his services and his time
00:19:15.720 and effort and heart and soul to his community and all of canada on these days he showed up in
00:19:21.920 all his gear he's a volunteer volunteer fighter fighter like in all his gear shows up on the first
00:19:28.260 weekend turns around drives home northern ontario comes back with a buddy you know we i have a
00:19:34.340 picture in the freedom trailer that um it's a letter it's thanking his wife for allowing them
00:19:42.160 to come back and we we did a we did a thing anyways um yeah getting greasy for freedom uh
00:19:48.660 with i love it and a bunch of little chainsaws and weed whackers and brought us all back
00:19:56.500 pistons on a key chain all engraved yeah there it is wow yeah the boys that were you know key
00:20:06.000 components in there were others like that i'll never remember but i know they were there that
00:20:10.360 that just you know carried dry shafts down there and uh down the main streets and and you know um
00:20:16.960 that's that's the thing about it and this whole movement that that really has to be acknowledged
00:20:23.540 is those of us that were there in the cold we knew we didn't know anybody else and we didn't
00:20:29.940 care because we were there to end these mandates and and fix a problem as we saw um and and you
00:20:39.320 know it's like we're continuing to watch this just bombard us with one lie after another uh you know
00:20:48.460 and and you know we had taxation without representation we just went through nine
00:20:52.980 months of them still passing these bills and laws and people you know we signed petitions and yada
00:20:58.840 yada and it goes nowhere and that's that's why we all stood up we all knew that there was something
00:21:05.760 um something not right and we took it upon ourselves to prepare ourselves to the best
00:21:12.100 of the ability and my hat's off to the mechanics and the people that that did show up with that
00:21:17.000 work mentality like i'm not knocking anybody that came there to warm the hearts and and be a part of
00:21:24.060 it but there were a serious amount of us that did nothing but throw down and knowing we couldn't go
00:21:30.600 home um and and and being cold was just just part of it and the the parts suppliers all through
00:21:38.920 ottawa like i said during the weeks when the people would go and it was cold it was these
00:21:43.720 parts suppliers that they didn't want to let us in and it would be one guy in the back that's like
00:21:49.000 you guys left that you know he'd be like come out in the parking lot what do you guys need this is
00:21:53.160 bullshit i'm helping you um and and and that's that was the the the pride of the technician 0.61
00:22:00.760 world and you know the other way of thinking that really that really hit it home for me right away 0.80
00:22:07.320 and i was like well i'm gonna stay here and do the best i can with what i got because this is
00:22:12.040 freaking awesome um you know uh thinking thinking in the moment that you know um we got this we got
00:22:21.880 this i i you know i meet people like brendan that's he's taking care of his block and then
00:22:26.600 all of a sudden as we build and we build and we get to plant these seeds uh uh in the in the hearts
00:22:33.760 of everybody else that's shown up there it's like no no you're not wrong you're not a lunatic
00:22:37.940 you're you're actually doing the right thing and as far as i'm concerned and you know my opinion
00:22:43.480 shouldn't mean anything it's just my opinion but i want you to know i'm super grateful that you guys
00:22:48.640 are here with us right now and you guys hauled 20 000 liters of diesel fuel in 20 liter jerry cans
00:22:56.720 in 48 hours and they would come in the trailer just dripping in fuel and and frozen and we had
00:23:05.260 we had load bars set up across and you know we would alternate taking the frozen pads off the
00:23:10.220 floor to stack them behind the heater so people could sleep on the floor um so what what actually
00:23:17.320 happened from my stance from my viewpoint there it is completely different um because we we we
00:23:24.680 marched those those streets in the wee hours the morning and you know i i knew a lot of the guys
00:23:30.120 that were taking care of the the the war memorial and and they when they would do their shifts we
00:23:35.720 all met each other um and we built deep friendships and uh yeah you guys know me i love to talk so i
00:23:43.160 want to make sure brennan has you know you're so good at it sam yeah well i got a lot to say and i
00:23:50.920 i have when i since i the man i am now and the man i was when i left there i didn't i i i it's
00:23:58.600 my new thing i just want to continue to educate myself so that i can have civil discord and try
00:24:06.360 to continue the battle which we all are facing and and the the genocide the democide that there
00:24:13.700 are definitions of words that i had no idea um what what they meant years ago and now here they
00:24:21.060 are in our everyday society and they're you know the alienation of certain certain ways um
00:24:27.280 uh yeah we don't have to really get into the the meat and potatoes of it but really uh this is this
00:24:34.400 is a we'll talk about a whole bunch of things but um before i forget it it's things like herb's truck
00:24:40.800 stop yeah yeah right yeah i drove across canada we lost our business in british columbia and we
00:24:49.360 moved to nova scotia and collectively you know every time i would come home i had to isolate
00:24:54.560 on the farm so that was two weeks so two months worth of my life was sent to isolation and
00:25:00.560 alienation from from people because of what they were told was the best thing they could do to
00:25:06.840 protect grandma and and you know right now all the proof like we don't have to go far to to find
00:25:14.540 fallacy in this and that there were people that were being a hindrance and not a help
00:25:19.100 after being gone and back and forth across canada you know i think it's we're like
00:25:25.960 6200k uh with a trip down to see mom in southern ontario and that was the first meal i had in a
00:25:34.720 restaurant and his waitresses were they they were so welcoming and it was so freaking cold
00:25:40.080 and you know not not to mention emotions like when you rounded the corner and saw those
00:25:45.460 saw all the chicken lights and all the reflectors and the fireworks and i was i was the last one to
00:25:51.460 leave nova scotia so you know we did stop and change tires along the way of people that weren't
00:25:56.260 involved in the convoy but it was like oh flashing lights what are we doing it's like minus 28 minus
00:26:03.220 30 in montreal it's like pair of filipino ladies a mom and a daughter does the car have a spare
00:26:09.160 tire no it does not no this car has a spare tire no no no spare tire i'm like i you guys gotta get
00:26:14.840 away like so mike jameson guy and myself convinced these ladies that we're okay and we're going to
00:26:21.640 unload their car in a snowbank and get the spare tire out jack it up change it and then follow
00:26:27.880 follow the crew in and i like i said that was my i appreciate the moment to thank herb and herb's
00:26:32.840 truck stop and the people there because it was those little moments that i know everybody on
00:26:38.440 those overpasses also felt and and and they did it to everybody that got to witness that warmth and
00:26:44.600 that feeling of genuinely making a difference in a stranger's life none of this that
00:26:51.080 we're seeing with our mainstream media and our social media is like the clickbait the
00:26:56.520 the psychology um that was that was that good old-fashioned genuine pride for being canadian
00:27:07.400 guy meister i don't know if many people out there know guy meister but guy meister's from nova
00:27:11.560 scotia's a neighbor to sam this guy is a genuine guy if you're probably listening right now because
00:27:17.880 i know he's getting text a little while ago there is an awesome guy he he showed up he was charged
00:27:22.760 with mischief course went through the trial process i think guy drove there for every trial
00:27:28.120 day in the work clothes that he actually worked on his diesel vehicle that afternoon guy your
00:27:34.200 character that i am proud to know and you're watching this buddy um yeah it is he's actually
00:27:41.880 right now he's driving in the plow truck he's he's winging back our roads he's driving the truck
00:27:48.440 that i was removed from because i wouldn't give them the date of my second shot he's driving 08
00:27:54.600 241 which for six years i worked the department of transport and i refused to take another shot
00:28:01.640 and they removed me from that base and right this very minute he's he's sitting in that truck and
00:28:07.560 i hope he's not listening to their watching because rules and regulations but that's the
00:28:13.960 absurdity of what we're dealing with and and how we have we we we've we've fallen back into these
00:28:21.480 ruts uh of of just just continuing to fuel the nonsense and any recourse for them letting you
00:28:32.840 go like i speak to so many people uh in the healthcare profession and law enforcement um
00:28:38.760 they have never ever been approached by their former employers for letting them go because they
00:28:43.640 didn't fall for you know that job have you ever heard anything from your former employees
00:28:49.640 have you ever reached out not not a not a whiff not not it just like it never happened um
00:28:58.040 to the point where uh this year you know um i i just i i don't i enjoy some of the employees there
00:29:06.040 um i don't uh i i know why why they're going back they finally after you know numerous years they
00:29:13.640 got a substantial raise it's almost a living wage now but they've gotten you know two days
00:29:19.240 off a week they don't have to show up in the base like the carrot for that that job got got a lot
00:29:25.440 a lot more uh delectable i'll say so but they had to because it's a very very difficult job and
00:29:33.520 and the people that are out there uh risking their lives to maintain the roads um for people to to go
00:29:42.040 and from to and from and like chris you brennan yeah i mean no i no no no denying tamara i'm sure
00:29:48.860 you spend a lot of time on the road but you put 80 000 pounds uh and yeah and the people are
00:29:55.680 sitting there on their phone not paying attention and so when you i i have a cdl i'm class one
00:30:02.560 driver when you're out there doing it and you're you're you're stressed to high heaven um so you
00:30:10.300 know that's those are the people that showed up in ottawa to defend us right yeah exactly selfishly
00:30:15.640 And really to see four years later, I don't know, I kind of know where everybody's gone, but I don't know where the drive and the passion for allowing this overreach to continue.
00:30:34.100 i think i think the best way to to sum it up is that that covid was like an alarm clock to some
00:30:41.700 but that alarm clock had a snooze button and unfortunately people have hit that snooze button
00:30:45.780 went back to sleep and i see that that's a good analogy that's a great analogy
00:30:51.540 i don't want to take credit for that one because i heard it from somebody else and i thought it
00:30:54.580 was really good so i'm stealing that from somebody else that i heard it from i just
00:30:57.380 want to make sure i mention that yes and if you guys want to follow if you guys want to follow
00:31:03.460 Sam on X I didn't get a I didn't get your handle Brendan but I'm happy to put it up if you want
00:31:09.680 to send it to me to put it in the chat you can follow Sam on X at at Rebel JP and he is also
00:31:16.560 on Facebook Sam Fields and you can find Brendan definitely on Facebook he said he didn't it
00:31:20.960 doesn't use his X that much but um yeah I don't I know there's other social media platforms but
00:31:26.020 those are about the only ones I could really wrap my head around and so Brendan tell us what what
00:31:31.340 was going on on the island um in 2022 and what led you to um decide to to come to ottawa well
00:31:41.980 in 2022 on the island things were uh it was a very dark place i mean i mean people were
00:31:49.420 it was all doom and gloom and everybody it was it just it just felt like everything was coming
00:31:55.580 to an end and uh and it just didn't feel right it felt like it felt like it just doesn't make sense
00:32:01.660 none none of this is adding up it doesn't make sense and feel the division the division amongst
00:32:07.980 amongst people like family members and friends and i remember going through christmas christmas
00:32:14.980 in 2021 and uh and you know you you think uh i i have grandparents and and uh you think is it
00:32:24.680 are we are we really are we really helping ourselves by uh by sacrificing a christmas to
00:32:30.160 to potentially save to potentially save grandma and grandpa when we don't know how many more
00:32:35.780 christmas grandma and grandpa have and and the things and i just remember i just remember i i
00:32:42.960 felt it I felt it inside felt it in here I just gotta I just gotta go I gotta pack up everything
00:32:49.000 and and I gotta go and and I remember the night before leaving for the convoy it was like two in
00:32:56.840 the morning and I'm packing stuff up and I didn't I'm putting it in my truck and and at that point
00:33:04.060 I just thought I just thought you know we're gonna go down for a day or two and I don't I didn't
00:33:09.740 really know what was going to take place but luckily luckily my mechanic and my mechanic
00:33:17.100 mechanical instinct and everything and over packing and being over prepared i put a diesel
00:33:23.340 heater in my truck and i slept in my truck just like sam slept in the trailer and you know that
00:33:30.300 diesel heater little diesel heater kept kept my truck warm minus minus 25 whatever it was it was
00:33:36.620 about as cold as it is tonight four years later and uh and i can remember i can remember just
00:33:44.700 just driving driving to ottawa listening to outlaw country on sirius xm listening to the songs that
00:33:51.420 they were playing they played they played songs they didn't mention the convoy or anything like
00:33:57.580 that but the music they played it definitely spoke to it and it was uh it was really uh really great
00:34:03.820 to listen to and all the things all the people i've seen along the way and all the all the things
00:34:10.940 it just it just the the closer we got to ottawa the more i knew it was the right decision and the
00:34:16.700 more i knew that we're not just turning around and going home tomorrow this is this is going to be
00:34:23.420 this is going to be something and and i didn't know how we're going to get it done but uh but
00:34:27.660 we're going to get it done there's there's talkers and there's doers in this world and it just felt
00:34:32.220 like i was surrounded by a bunch of doers everybody was going to get what needed to be done
00:34:37.980 i don't think anybody knew what we were doing did we no kidding organized chaos i think we talked
00:34:45.580 about the other day chris it was just completely organized chaos um and i think it was what's the
00:34:51.180 first day brenton or the second day that we were there that you came to the hotel it was very when
00:34:56.220 i met you and i i think you were we were talking about the registration forms or something we were
00:35:01.740 i don't know it had and you were looking also for parts because um and so and we became great
00:35:07.420 friends after that um and like i said we got to tell our story and maybe a little later on if we
00:35:13.100 can obviously yeah yeah that'd be great you know you were talking about i thought about that moment
00:35:19.660 that we shared um because when you said you know things just worked out everything that we needed
00:35:24.540 just showed up so we'll save that story till closer to the end i promise you it's it's a great great
00:35:30.220 story um how many vehicles are people do you guys think that you two helped um while you were in
00:35:40.460 ottawa like per day i i know brendan was busy every time i saw brendan he was going for parts
00:35:46.860 looking for parts somebody was bringing him parts or he was you know um we were i think what we're
00:35:52.860 trying to do is was um cover the invoices right like we were i think that was one of your questions
00:35:58.860 was if the money some of the donations could be used to cover some of that but of course we couldn't
00:36:03.820 access any of it anyways in the beginning in the beginning i was concerned about the registration
00:36:11.500 because because my truck my truck was parked on the street as well as everybody else and i thought
00:36:17.100 for some reason i thought okay i need to get this registration figured out because if i'm registered
00:36:23.260 then it's then it goes that i'm uh i'm part of this and and i also had a worker with me my uh
00:36:31.820 licensed technician that still works for me to this day ryan tolman you uh you met him when he
00:36:36.780 came to the island one time tamara and uh ryan uh ryan was down there with his uh with his wife
00:36:45.100 monica and they were uh they stayed they stayed for a week due to a a generous uh generous donation
00:36:53.580 from another local business here on manitoulin that uh that helped they they donated money and
00:36:58.780 that that paid ryan's wages for the week and ryan was also helping fixing vehicles and it wasn't it
00:37:05.420 wasn't just repairing vehicles there was there was different it was like the mechanics of the convoy
00:37:13.100 we we had to we had to work around at the same time as the mechanics of the truck like it all
00:37:18.540 just every like when there was a need everybody just everybody just filled that need and uh yeah
00:37:25.900 i could i can remember just fixing trucks and vehicles you're fixing people
00:37:30.380 yeah you're fixing people and that's really what that whole experience was about am i wrong
00:37:36.860 you know yeah that's that's exactly what it was about there was a sense of togetherness
00:37:41.500 there was a sense of togetherness and uh i i had the medicine wheel on the side of my truck and
00:37:47.660 the medicine wheel is important it's four colors and everybody works together everybody works
00:37:52.860 together and helps each other in a circle and uh that we we had that sense of togetherness throughout
00:37:58.380 the whole convoy and it was uh it's something that it's something that when i see the the feuding
00:38:05.660 nowadays happening amongst people and in the groups i just you know it just it hurts because
00:38:12.460 because that sense of togetherness that we had it was it was a power that was unstoppable
00:38:19.420 and it was uh it was a gentle it was a gentle power and i just i just uh i hope one day that
00:38:26.220 we can all get back to that it was uh i can i can remember uh i can remember we uh sam and i have
00:38:36.300 this friend melissa who uh she's she was uh she was from quebec and i met i met melissa it was
00:38:43.420 it was on my birthday and there had been there had been a car on wellington street a jeep and
00:38:51.020 somebody put diesel in the jeep and the lady was sleeping in the jeep and and and i'm there and i
00:38:57.500 i pulled the fuel line off the off the fuel rail in the car smelling it oh yeah it's diesel so so
00:39:04.220 there's melissa with a volkswagen jetta car she shows up well let's go get some jerry cans let's
00:39:09.260 go get some fuel and and just like that's another example of when when you're in need someone someone
00:39:16.460 shows up and i remember i remember the the first day that i met you tamara we were we were talking
00:39:22.620 in the ark hotel and uh and you had uh we had a good friend that had a truck a turquoise western
00:39:29.180 star it wouldn't start it was too cold right but that just happened go ahead yeah that's so true
00:39:39.020 yeah that truck just happened to be down the street from where my truck was like we didn't
00:39:43.820 know that at the time but i had a generator so i was able to carry the generator down the street
00:39:49.180 plug it in for a good hour and then uh because you know at minus 25 it's not just a matter of
00:39:55.180 crank the key and it's gonna fire out plug it into the generator man i'll never forget that night
00:40:04.300 that was your that was your birthday night you had done the uh the interview on ctv uh i i remember uh
00:40:11.660 I remember you quietly placing the gentleman right back in his place
00:40:17.180 when he was trying to angle the conversation for sure.
00:40:22.200 You're like, no, you know what?
00:40:23.720 It's actually quite a nice situation down here.
00:40:26.960 And, you know, we're all settling in quite nicely.
00:40:31.240 And anyway, I'll put it on.
00:40:34.340 It's posted on all my Facebook.
00:40:36.500 It's so, I mean, the censorship and the control of what we're allowed to see
00:40:40.960 of one another's is pathetic um but yeah it's out there and i have that picture i think they were 0.67
00:40:47.100 right by um that that that teal kenworth with the high-rise sleeper there's a picture of buddy
00:40:53.840 standing there and their street is meticulous they hand shoveled that that street shoulder
00:40:59.920 schooler and it was me yeah because you were at the hotel uh that night right yeah i believe so
00:41:10.780 yeah you uh somebody that i met alexa levote from uh from rebel news there um and yeah they couldn't
00:41:20.200 they they couldn't get a room because the there was there was financial issues and they they
00:41:26.540 wouldn't let me buy a room i had to sign on to the the crowdfunding thing and then submit and
00:41:32.820 then all of a sudden she gets a bloop on her phone and her cameraman got a got a room and
00:41:38.760 yeah ever since uh apparently they they keep calling wanting to thank me for my for my donations
00:41:46.320 and but that was a that was the that was when i met uh alexa and uh yeah it's uh what happened
00:41:55.220 to her you know i was right there when she got shot with that that deer gas can um
00:42:00.660 tanner the old tire roaster there him and i were you know right there just after we left
00:42:08.520 your service trailer with the uh the tickets for the horses yeah i know it's it's quite a it's
00:42:17.880 quite a world it's quite a world now how we see those days i mean just coming into ottawa like
00:42:23.960 You asked how many cars I figured we fixed.
00:42:27.180 Well, after it was all over, there was a gentleman out on Bank Street
00:42:30.940 that let us use his shop, and we pumped over 2,000 liters.
00:42:36.220 There's one of those totes, those IBC totes of tainted fuel out of people's cars
00:42:41.020 because when they were getting the boot, people were like, well, where do we take it?
00:42:45.900 And I had this guy's address, and all the tow companies were just doing hot laps of cars
00:42:51.660 of people that you know were trying to leave and just couldn't and and some of the enforcement was
00:42:57.260 was was relatively lenient and understanding and you know kind of if you got to them in time it's
00:43:03.020 like at the very last minute you weren't getting any respect you're getting your windows smashed
00:43:07.100 out and and hauled off uh but i remember i just thousand leaders isn't necessarily a lot but
00:43:14.780 i mean that was the only the cars that we got to and lots were left how was it what was it what
00:43:22.140 was the story behind the tainted fuel well you know as as i would put it you know with the best
00:43:27.580 of intentions people people didn't realize like i'm sure all of us have grabbed the wrong jerry
00:43:33.580 can and cap off and ah yeah yeah yeah stuff right you know a diesel it isn't it isn't good for it
00:43:42.540 but it'll it'll you know thin it out and you know long term but uh an internal combustion engine
00:43:47.820 with the gasoline storage will not uh will not flame on the old furnace oil um so you know lots
00:43:55.820 of that uh it was mainly the batteries you know sitting there cycling the fuel pump if you couldn't
00:44:00.540 get to the get to the back seat you know a lot of the cars had an access port and we rigged up shaker
00:44:06.540 siphons and drill pumps and you know uh yeah um you know and now try and dispose of it you know
00:44:15.060 try to try to be responsible and this is this is the evidence of of the caliber of people we were
00:44:21.140 dealing with is that we did remediate it properly or to the best of our ability it's not like
00:44:27.220 you know a lot of people i know they would just be like yep sender and it's like no we're no we
00:44:34.060 refused to give them an assault charge that's why we were as successful as we were because
00:44:39.200 you know there was a lot of people podcasting there was a lot of people in the back
00:44:43.480 but there were the people up front knew exactly what was going to ruin our day
00:44:48.600 and give sandy rinaldo her talking point or and we policed ourselves so well um and and you know
00:44:58.460 I know a lot of people think it was a failure because it didn't get violent, that, you know, we didn't really ever accomplish anything.
00:45:06.940 I've heard some I've heard some things.
00:45:08.780 It's like, at what level am I supposed to continue to participate in something that I did by myself for myself and just happened to stumble across some other awesome people along the way?
00:45:19.780 um you know i have sat in in those courtrooms in ottawa for guys court and to to watch what you
00:45:26.860 guys had to endure and and participate along with and watch the crown uh literally drop their pants
00:45:36.040 and still wind up with some form of justification it's like this is pathetic i have i have his
00:45:44.660 initial disclosure and and we could have solved that case in in my eyes as a technician in the
00:45:49.940 first couple pages i'm like well that's fraud that's fake he was arrested as a crewman of
00:45:55.000 unison's truck not an operator of a black mac uh that's not his license that's not the booking 0.55
00:46:01.360 officer i'm like okay well this is bullshit no we have to play it out for the people to see 0.51
00:46:07.360 to make a spectacle of the nonsense for 23 cases and you're right that man drove himself there on
00:46:14.640 his own dime in some of the most like when he started driving when he found that cadillac
00:46:20.560 like he was a kid kid in the candy core he's like perfect and you know um but the reality is it did
00:46:27.360 get better mileage than most cars today and it did have ashtrays in the back seat and uh
00:46:38.000 it was a shoe that fit the man quite well and that was the candidate that showed up to stand up
00:46:44.640 in the moment is people like Guy and Brennan and and and you Chris and the Kevins and the Bridgets
00:46:52.600 and the and the Benz you know like what we were I personally was there like I I don't have to look
00:47:00.440 and I don't have to go far to to find the reels and that because it's in it's in it's etched in
00:47:05.920 my mind the sound the horns the triggering the lights the disrespect from our prime minister
00:47:12.540 uh intern bell like we have seen zero accountability even for the nonsense that
00:47:19.820 you guys are going through right and there's there's even to touch even to touch on what
00:47:26.000 you were saying about the police and the investigations that happened like i know in
00:47:30.120 my bail hearing um when i was arrested on the breach i was arrested on that breach charge
00:47:35.840 and um during the bail hearing the picture of me and tom marazzo and everybody else was brought up
00:47:43.400 and the homicide detective like the guy who investigates homicides didn't even investigate
00:47:51.700 that photo he couldn't tell you one person other than maybe me and tom marazzo who else was in that
00:47:57.540 photo he didn't know if they were lawyers doctors family um my sister did more investigating
00:48:05.320 in that photo the homicide detective assigned to my case so that speaks volumes and like you just
00:48:12.080 said um if you recall
00:48:14.940 yeah absolutely so there's a threat you know there's there's my hard-earned tax dollars
00:48:32.740 on the news you know we were fortunate enough because there were people that would not take 0.73
00:48:39.620 no for an answer when they were handing us hundred dollar bills in that door and it's a little polish 1.00
00:48:44.000 lady with her two sons behind you you take you take chili you take vegetables and you take the 0.99
00:48:49.120 hundred dollar bills and it's like okay lady thank you so much and there's two more behind her and
00:48:53.880 it's like okay what do we do what do we do well you eat the chili because it's freaking delicious
00:48:58.060 and the boys are coming back tomorrow
00:49:00.640 with more
00:49:01.080 and we gave the money back to the truckers
00:49:06.840 so here
00:49:08.220 we are
00:49:09.240 anyways
00:49:11.540 it's something else
00:49:13.720 it's something else to think of
00:49:15.440 where we're
00:49:16.660 where we are right now
00:49:19.580 seeing how that outreach
00:49:22.560 hit us so hard
00:49:24.200 it changed a lot of us
00:49:27.000 did it not
00:49:27.540 Like I always say that I don't think anyone learned more, grew more through Convoy than me, myself personally.
00:49:34.140 I look back at some of the videos that I looked back previous to Convoy,
00:49:38.020 what I was going to share this week, I couldn't find any good ones.
00:49:40.380 And of course, all of the ones that I wanted were wiped.
00:49:43.120 But, you know, my language in a lot of my old social media posts was a lot different.
00:49:47.760 Let's just use that word.
00:49:49.740 I've changed that part about myself because that's something that I've seen through Convoy that I wanted to address and I wanted to make better.
00:49:56.480 And so a lot of us, I think it made a lot of us grow up a lot.
00:50:00.660 It made a lot of us more humble and see exactly the true humanity in Canada, I guess, right?
00:50:09.780 You're a kinder, gentler Chris Barber now.
00:50:13.240 Well, I can still have my moments though, right?
00:50:17.440 Exactly. Well, can't we all, really?
00:50:19.340 so one thing that really uh that i really noticed going to convoy when you've seen when you've seen
00:50:26.780 the when you've seen the direct the direct uh the media how they were portraying it and how
00:50:32.460 how you could how you could show a video like a live stream of what's going on and the people that
00:50:37.820 would pay attention from back home and other places and all over and they would just they
00:50:43.100 would just understand they could they could see this is not this is not what we're being shown
00:50:48.220 and the media and that's one thing that that i feel like it hasn't people haven't forgotten that
00:50:55.100 so much the media the media and the polarization that they've done it's it's not they haven't fully
00:51:03.340 forgotten that and i think i think right now it's uh it's really important if people just
00:51:09.340 get back to uh all working together and realizing that the machine is against us all and
00:51:15.580 it's sad and that's something that i fight with too is it's all that unity that like you said
00:51:22.760 before all that unity that we've seen you know in the beginning of convoy and through convoy
00:51:26.720 it's kind of fallen apart over ego since then and uh i don't know how i don't know how we could
00:51:32.780 fix a lot of that but i don't know if i had my part in that i know i've been i've become a little
00:51:37.840 bit more stubborn and strong-headed i think when people go against us or you know go against people
00:51:43.000 that i respect and trust i take that personally now not that i want to fight publicly i just i
00:51:48.340 just distance myself now i just i want nothing to do with them anymore if you want to go down
00:51:52.280 that avenue i'm just not going to be anywhere near you i could fight with you all day long
00:51:56.440 but i don't feel it's worth it yeah well i think it comes down to you need to make a choice about
00:52:02.440 what you want to put your energy into and i mean like you guys were talking about earlier we could
00:52:07.860 sit here and we could put all our energy into doing that or we can you know remember the great
00:52:14.060 times we have put our focus on affecting positive change for tomorrow and for our kids and for our
00:52:19.300 grandkids and to enjoy each other's company yeah well i and uh another another mechanic story i
00:52:27.660 just uh i just want to share here when we when we come out to the east coast uh for the fundraiser
00:52:33.280 that we we had for guy sam that was that time hey sam when you picked me up at the airport and uh
00:52:39.920 and your truck wasn't charging yeah dude yeah
00:52:46.160 yeah since the since the carbon tax protest yeah one little signal wire driving me crazy i put two
00:52:55.360 alternators in that truck and everything looked good and sporadically it wouldn't charge and
00:53:00.400 and I drive down with dim lights, pick them up in Halifax,
00:53:04.460 and we pull in, he pops a hood,
00:53:07.420 and I think I was on a podcast with somebody, wasn't I?
00:53:10.260 You were, yeah.
00:53:11.240 You were on a podcast, and we pulled into the gas station,
00:53:15.140 pulled into the gas station, and I pulled the plug off the alternator,
00:53:21.080 and, you know, this is, you learn a lot of things in the mechanical trade.
00:53:27.300 you just learn over you learn over time and you learn over uh learning you learn it the hard way
00:53:32.340 and you figure it out and then uh then the next time it uh you remember that and sometimes sometimes
00:53:39.460 you uh necessity is the mother of all invention i say so sam sam had a wire it had a loose connector
00:53:47.060 on his alternator when you plug it in it would make connection and then all of a sudden you drive
00:53:51.620 down the road and hit a bump and it wouldn't make connections so we were we were able to scrounge up
00:53:56.420 some uh some pieces of wire he had in his door pocket from a from an old trailer cord and put
00:54:02.420 it in the plug connector for his alternator and put it back on there and and is it still working
00:54:06.980 to this day sam to this day buddy you know i haven't touched it yeah yeah and that's no kidding
00:54:19.780 chris we were talking about the contaminated fuel and um you know it was uh my buddy marcel
00:54:27.220 uh and robbie another one of the mechanics you know brand brand spanking new um maroon pete
00:54:35.540 sitting right in front of the i got a picture of it it's sitting right on wellington in front of
00:54:39.620 the big church right by the supreme court and uh they put def they put a diesel in the def
00:54:46.420 and for those who don't know it's a very small hole to get all that sauce out and not to mention
00:54:54.060 it's not good for the system itself and uh you know there was uh my buddy Clyde appreciate you
00:55:02.980 yeah anyways and that was how it came together we had to go through stages burnt the batteries
00:55:12.540 low and anyways what i took from the other mechanics i went there not you know i i wanted
00:55:17.580 to go there as mechanic i wound up falling into more of a uh a coordinator position um
00:55:25.420 people would call me i would get a picture of their their truck their car brief description um
00:55:33.260 and send them send them on their way but the best part of it for me is when i got there
00:55:37.580 there, I would jump in the cab and these people that had been sitting there with all this emotion
00:55:43.540 pent up in them, I would get to talk to them. And they were just, you know, I would find out
00:55:50.400 about their truck and I would find out what they were doing. And the guy's name was Pete. And they
00:55:55.640 had sold what was left of their farm in Manitoba, in northern Manitoba, and bought this truck. And
00:56:02.420 it was their everything. It was their retirement plan. They had it all figured out. And it was
00:56:06.600 it was classy and uh you know uh the the truck was completely stone cold it was dead they ran 0.97
00:56:14.420 the wabasto to the end because it went into a an emergency d-rate because they were the doser
00:56:19.840 pump realized that it wasn't getting uh the deft fluid that it was getting diesel and uh anyways
00:56:26.080 you know as everybody starts fixing it and they got it all serviced up and like my hat's off to
00:56:30.500 you guys for doing it um you know the batteries were dead haul them down to the trailer start
00:56:36.260 going no they just wouldn't come back and we meet uh we meet chris and diane uh and and and he comes
00:56:43.880 around and he's got a beautiful motor coach and he's like you're a mechanic right yeah yeah you
00:56:50.540 come with me i've been looking for a guy like you and you know tall guy awesome like energy just
00:56:57.260 buzzing out of him and we go up a couple blocks and he starts opening the under cabinets he's
00:57:02.420 like i own a part store we got a we got a flat of batteries we got coveralls we got gloves we
00:57:07.400 got headlamps we got you know cases of coolant i just had the boys load her up whatever we need
00:57:13.040 right and this was his level of of angst and and our our emotions you know we just came we came
00:57:19.360 right back to life it was like that guy's back going we when when when that i saw i saw pete
00:57:26.120 a couple days later and his truck was purring like a kitten and you know that that that emotional
00:57:32.760 roller coaster that we had all gone gone through of you know being so quiet and alone to the prep
00:57:39.580 to the travel to arriving you know when i showed up in coventry looking back and now i was just
00:57:45.860 going through my pictures you know we were led right into coventry road is is directly between
00:57:51.780 the rcmp headquarters and the department of national defense and looking at my pictures of
00:57:58.660 you know men with with with assault style rifles on the rooftop ushering us in and you know we were
00:58:07.380 just on next level like i until you go back and look at the pictures and realize what you're
00:58:12.020 looking at it's like man they sure did put us right in the right spot didn't they and no rifles
00:58:18.820 trained on on children on in coventry think about that people for just one second sniper rifles
00:58:25.060 loaded firearms long-range weapons on the rooftop of a hotel trained on the innocent people in the
00:58:31.860 parking lot and children were involved that was the level of government on us it was i don't know
00:58:38.580 where to go with that the stuff that we were some of some of the memorabilia i brought from out of
00:58:44.100 the trailer but i i was i was going through this and and they gave us a stack of these as the
00:58:50.980 mechanics i'm like oh would you would you mind handing out our propaganda for us and i'm like
00:58:55.460 yeah get bent but like we're actually maybe a little bit smarter than you on a bunch of these
00:59:01.540 topics like yeah we could start tearing this thing apart if you want but it's pretty good you know
00:59:06.740 it's it's got some room for improvement but i like what they were going with
00:59:10.260 what what colors were there for the warnings there was blue red was there a yellow uh i didn't get
00:59:17.180 a yellow i i i know that i got the blue ones and i did remember seeing a red one i think i have the
00:59:23.100 red one here's a hotel receipt from the hilton too bad they didn't make those out of a softer
00:59:29.900 paper make a good rag but they kicked us out when they started kicking us out of the hotel rooms
00:59:39.200 we got a couple stories about that dude only buddy oh yeah um yeah you know we get we finally
00:59:46.600 let us let us rent a room and you know everybody needs the classic shit shower shave um you know
00:59:55.180 take the frostbite out of your toes call your wife call your mom let them know the sonic boom
01:00:01.280 wasn't so bad like blow up your tv move to the country eat a lot of peaches like if you're not
01:00:08.560 listen to the song um anyways we get in there and right away one of the servicemen comes because
01:00:15.100 one of the fellas touched the fire alarm and he came in and igor was a huge individual and he was
01:00:22.340 so excited that we had showed up to take care of the the overreach and the these mandates that um
01:00:30.020 and um it is a you know and and he doesn't either yeah we recorded the whole conversation 0.58
01:00:37.200 And when you were when you go back and listen to the emotions of his voice coming from a communist country and like him, the tears in his voice, the emotion in his voice talking about how his children won't speak to him because he's coming into town to do his job to pay for the heat.
01:01:00.300 he's like i can't miss a payment i have to come to work and whether you guys are here or not i'm
01:01:04.860 coming to work and i will be giving i will be filling my time card out and he's like i don't
01:01:08.920 think you guys are all that bad and i really am glad you guys are here and it was just one after
01:01:13.700 another and we would meet these people and they would completely deflate the mainstream narrative
01:01:19.280 and it was fuel for our machine let's go let's go talk to another one um yeah how many people
01:01:29.280 did you meet like that i met a young lady from honduras who basically cried and like tamara said
01:01:35.120 in the past you know how many different canadians or people around the world's tears have we had on
01:01:39.440 her shoulders through convoy or even since then uh the desperation that she spoke about and why
01:01:44.560 she left honduras and here she is in ottawa in february 2022 trying to fight for that that same
01:01:50.640 freedom again it was emotional so since the freedom convoy those same people still need us
01:01:59.640 And what do you guys think we can do?
01:02:05.400 We're busy serving the 18-month sentence, you know,
01:02:08.180 like the distraction that they've caused in taking the key players
01:02:11.700 out of the realm here by throwing us through the lawfare
01:02:14.160 that we've been through the last number of years
01:02:17.080 and continue to go through that.
01:02:18.340 I mean, we're not even remotely close to done with our trials,
01:02:21.700 with our appeals, essentially just taking us off the battlefield
01:02:24.880 is what they've done, and I think it's all been by design.
01:02:28.500 So that's where we rely on other people to stand up and do their part, too.
01:02:33.700 Not like we had such an influential role more than anyone else.
01:02:37.760 I say that a lot to people, too.
01:02:40.160 I mean, it's no different than anybody else standing in Ottawa.
01:02:43.080 I just had a bigger voice on social media or a louder voice on social media.
01:02:47.340 Anybody could have been that person.
01:02:49.680 But that's where it is.
01:02:50.900 We can't forget what we were there for and what we're continuing to do now.
01:02:55.880 my goal in the future is just to go forward and keep telling people i think we're winning this
01:03:00.200 i think what we're doing is we're raising more and more awareness to what actually transpired
01:03:04.280 in ottawa in february and people are seeing that right now and asking those questions and the more
01:03:09.160 we just have a civilized conversation with them that's my goal going forward and in my own mind
01:03:14.040 is just to make sure that people know what actually happened i remember and i think what we can do
01:03:20.680 i mean we have this platform so i mean this is one of the reasons why chris and i wanted to start
01:03:25.560 the show um because we are under house arrest so before we were under house arrest we would travel
01:03:30.840 around and you know try to do fundraisers and help you know other people raise funds for their legal
01:03:35.640 fees or whatever fundraiser they would have um and so having the show a um selfishly i guess
01:03:44.040 will i think keep chris and i sane for the next but we got another year and a bit to go
01:03:48.600 But it also gives us a platform to share stories like yours like the people that aren't us and like Chris was just saying
01:03:55.800 You know, it could have been anyone and the only reason that people know our names that I think and Chris
01:04:00.560 And I've talked about this last is because of the law fair
01:04:02.940 I mean every time they drag us back to court
01:04:05.900 It's all over the media and it just gets sensationalized and and so like I talked to people all the time
01:04:12.020 That say I went to Ottawa. I had no idea who you guys were
01:04:15.180 I didn't know who Chris Barber and Tamera Leach was until two weeks after, two months after.
01:04:19.900 So, you know, it could have been any one of us. But, I mean, I guess the thing, the important
01:04:24.380 thing that we can do is give people a platform here to tell their stories and keep talking about
01:04:31.980 the stories and keep talking about our experiences and keep talking about the unity that we that we
01:04:37.100 felt and the hope. I think there's always hope. I know there's a lot of people that are upset
01:04:42.940 with me because of the alberta independence movement and and you know my support for it
01:04:48.140 but i believe in democracy i believe that everybody should be able to have a say
01:04:52.540 and make make the choice and and so do i do i love canada i love canadians and i have what canada
01:05:00.940 used to be um but it's not what it used to be um when i was growing up anyways um i still think
01:05:08.460 we're saving and i still think it's you know we saw the best in people we saw canada i saw
01:05:15.420 canadians how i always grew how i grew up to believe that what they were like you know all
01:05:20.860 walks of life everybody getting together everybody helping each other like you guys out there in the
01:05:26.540 freezing cold working on vehicles sleeping in a trailer sleeping in your truck well that's what
01:05:32.620 it was all about we just gotta continue to share that message that's what gave the people the
01:05:40.220 drive to go the distance you know when when someone's truck would break down or quit running
01:05:45.900 the people that were there to help all the mechanics there there's probably there's probably
01:05:49.900 50 mechanics i would bet there and all the mechanics going around to help out help out
01:05:55.020 with the vehicles and fix them when they're broke down that give the people the that give them the
01:06:01.500 confidence to stay and that showed like you know like we're here we've got we're we're gonna we're
01:06:07.540 gonna we're all in this till the end and uh the friendships the friendships that you forge
01:06:13.300 throughout throughout uh in a time of need like that is uh is something that uh you can't truly
01:06:20.900 i don't i don't know the words for it i can remember i can remember once uh once near the
01:06:29.160 end sam when we were at the hotel and uh my uh there's brian cornish on there right now that
01:06:35.240 just messages one of the mechanics yeah one of the best lived right in ottawa worked right there
01:06:41.420 sorry buddy he would he would come down after work after work all day he would come down and
01:06:47.720 work all night with us yeah yeah and uh yeah i just remember in the hotel close to the end sam
01:06:57.540 And one of my family members that live close by Ottawa had given me a hat.
01:07:05.120 And it said, you know, we've been talking to the manager in the hotel there now and then.
01:07:10.060 And he was pretty apprehensive about things.
01:07:15.660 And it was getting, you know, the end there, the last few days, it was getting a little bit awkward, if you would.
01:07:24.040 It's spicy.
01:07:25.320 Yeah.
01:07:26.200 and then i remember we uh we brought in the hat we brought in the hat and we got uh we had a
01:07:31.800 conversation and it just completely turned around from that moment like the hat that said uh what
01:07:38.040 it said it said make trudeau a drama teacher again that's so true you guys it looks like i showed up
01:07:50.840 how's it going guy finally figured out how to put a message on how is everybody and sam oh you got
01:07:56.680 the hat there it is yeah yeah that's uh it's from cousin peter and lorna yeah man and that's just it
01:08:09.400 i i have tried my best to hang on to it the the signatures that are that are on the the trailer
01:08:15.800 are almost all but gone and uh you know guy's truck still still covered inside uh you know it's
01:08:23.960 it it's it's it's preserved as as good as we can um the saddest part is is it's kind of like that's
01:08:34.440 that's those are the people we've lost you know um the the genocide there the the all-cause
01:08:41.000 morbidity or whatever we want to call it the things that we're not allowed to talk about
01:08:47.880 or that we're not like you and you and i brandon we we never stopped thinking about fixing things
01:08:54.360 and when i left when i left there i i didn't think i didn't think we were done standing up for
01:09:01.000 canada and the children and the people of it and the land mass that is all i want to do is to
01:09:08.120 continue to nourish it and i don't know how to become prime minister but i'd like somebody like
01:09:12.680 me to be prime minister you know we need a change we need an amazing change for the betterment and
01:09:21.320 we have to we have to base it on accountability i mean i have i've just been engaged with my
01:09:27.640 municipal council very very aggressively like taking time out of out of my day to go there
01:09:34.840 and be a part of the meeting of the whole that happens during business hours um i applied for
01:09:41.720 my 10 minutes to address them on you know foreign interference that the un its involvement in in
01:09:47.800 certain things and you know the the letters that i received from these ngos um saying that i didn't
01:09:54.920 i didn't you know it has to fall under this circular you know this curriculum and we won't
01:10:01.000 be speaking on that and i'm like man the corruption is is in is in every facet of this and it's not
01:10:07.960 going away and you know there's there's a lot of there's a lot of people across canada that right
01:10:14.520 now that are trying to to come up with a something and i and i praise them for it because their levy
01:10:22.200 is gonna break like as a mechanic i can tell you yeah man you you you know chris that clutch that
01:10:28.680 clutch is probably gonna give you maybe 30 or 40 000 more miles but man there's a lot of fiber
01:10:35.080 in that bell housing and that's canada right now i can tell you the wheels are about to fall right
01:10:40.200 off this thing and until we focus on uh a solution without revolution um and we we try to we try to
01:10:50.040 figure out the guy who's continuing to drill the holes in the bottom of this boat while we're
01:10:54.680 working diligently to try and fix it um like that's that's what we should be doing and i don't
01:11:00.700 get me wrong i love the reminiscing i i'm really appreciative of you guys uh hosting me on the guy
01:11:06.640 who's standing at the helm saying who cares that's the guy we got that's the guy we got wonder
01:11:11.860 we're supposed to be angry at one man like this and don't get me wrong everybody knows my stance
01:11:20.900 i think they're all corrupt whether it's red blue left right they all golf at the exact same club
01:11:28.180 i worked in the service industry for many years we lived we lived outside of whistler i've seen
01:11:32.980 these people on their weekends and they are all the same there are no different than us their
01:11:37.860 level of greed is the only thing that differentiates you and i they don't know how to change a tire i
01:11:44.340 do and they're telling me that that that our candidate is just fine and and they're trying
01:11:49.540 to convince us to become angry and frustrated with our number one trading partner and our
01:11:53.940 neighbor and our ally and and like i have i have a lot of family that live stateside and i love and
01:11:59.620 admire the patriotism that flag goes out every morning on that post for a damn reason because
01:12:06.980 those they've lost their family members for foreign conflict of of a rich man's war well
01:12:14.020 i i i would be very selfish to think that we're not going to see some kind of psychological
01:12:20.260 warfare in our time look at what they've done historically they have continued to rape and
01:12:24.820 pillage us they're using our money to to they literally went out of their way to make an
01:12:30.660 example of you two as the leaders but like they yes you guys you we all know very well
01:12:38.100 we've been in the presence of many um people who have been placed in our path for good reason
01:12:44.980 whether it was surveillance whether it was for insight whether it was for the just the mere
01:12:50.740 division um my engagement with the carbon tax protest the only time things went wrong were
01:12:57.700 when certain people showed up like it went we were there for we stood on the side of that highway
01:13:04.180 for days i think it was 68 days in total the when when the last when they were like you guys got to
01:13:12.460 get out of here right you know and and and kevin and and nicole and and tommy and tash and and and
01:13:19.600 joe and i you know i don't want to but they when when other people showed up all of a sudden there
01:13:25.000 were motorcycles going the wrong way and there were drones and there were you know fires and
01:13:29.760 there well you guys blocked the highway it's like no we didn't i actually applied for a road closure
01:13:34.220 permit and pylons and delinears because i worked for the department of transport and you didn't
01:13:38.180 bring them so anyways the reality is we have been infiltrated right even to to the point of this
01:13:45.380 level that we can't even trust uh the people that we put a lot of trust in we need to get back to
01:13:52.420 the the fundamentals the honesty the integrity and the accountability at all levels and all levels of
01:13:57.940 government and uh and that starts from the bottom up that starts from going going to your meetings
01:14:03.860 your local meetings and stuff and getting involved and uh and it'll without without the honesty
01:14:10.420 honesty and the integrity you uh you're you're building it's like building on a foundation of
01:14:16.660 it just doesn't work it's a thankless job great again people need to remember that the running
01:14:24.260 for public office is a thankless job you're going to get criticized probably more than you're going
01:14:28.020 to get praised and it's because of that a lot of people will step back from that not put any time
01:14:32.740 into that when then the other people that need that power and notoriety and are in there for
01:14:37.780 the wrong reasons are now stepped up and put themselves into that place we've got corruption
01:14:41.220 in our local school division um but it involves you getting off your ass and getting involved
01:14:46.500 and asking those questions or even running for school division or running for rural municipality
01:14:51.380 look at one of our favorite you know success stories from convoy mp andrew lawton sitting
01:14:56.820 in the house of commons right now questioning the government on their actions that was a product of
01:15:02.900 freedom convoy right there because you know andrew was there as a journalist more than anything i
01:15:07.700 want to add but he witnessed it firsthand and he became involved politically because of that
01:15:12.660 look at where he is now yeah i mean we can do a lot of information if we follow the money and see
01:15:19.940 who's profited from the last four years of their life like it doesn't it doesn't take long to to
01:15:25.860 figure out where the where the where the money is is being well spent um to cause the division
01:15:33.940 or limit our reach um really uh really hitting it home with the fact that we are the ones that
01:15:45.380 are paying the bills for all this this harm and when i see somebody inflicting harm on another
01:15:53.220 innocent person if i don't do something about it i think you're supposed to feel wrong about
01:16:00.740 that or you're supposed to actually do something about that and right now is all i'm seeing is
01:16:05.540 people pissing and moaning about what other people aren't doing enough of or you know like
01:16:10.980 oh we need to do this i'm like okay i got i got a buddy that's trying diligently to to form a
01:16:17.460 federal party the ncrp and you know what it's it's based on accountability and it's it's it's
01:16:23.940 there's it's there's room for improvement but it's a great freaking start and people won't even they
01:16:29.220 won't even sign up like they will spend more on a cup of coffee and their donut and sit there and
01:16:35.300 be like canada's room there's nothing we can do it's like well if we can actually put numbers on
01:16:40.500 paper and take this and say well actually you know you guys said there was only 10 of us here but
01:16:45.540 here's 1500 signatures you know so we're actually speaking on behalf of these people and uh you know
01:16:53.620 and and and and there's there's people in what the alberta separatists move dear lord i hope alberta
01:17:00.580 can can snap out of the separatist ideology like please don't leave canada like that like it makes
01:17:06.740 you look really bad it's not good for like you can't run on a on a green back you can't like
01:17:12.740 you're going to keep a canadian password there's so many things that just don't actually work i 0.64
01:17:16.980 love the main mindset and i understand how pissed off you guys are i'm pissed off too
01:17:22.020 we are being real loaded and you are letting the resources go for peanuts but we can't
01:17:29.700 how do you fix that that there's just such a there's such a disconnect right now between
01:17:34.900 ottawa and i want to say it's ottawa because i've met the people you know nova scotia
01:17:39.060 all those it's a disconnect between ottawa that's killing you know putting more divide between
01:17:44.820 western canada and eastern canada when in reality it's ottawa that is the problem that is the
01:17:50.580 disconnect in this country right now and i wish people we need to stop and think about why are
01:17:54.980 they doing that do they like us divided of course they do that's more we've uh as as a country we're
01:18:02.020 more uh we're more concerned about sending money overseas to other countries to help fix their
01:18:07.460 problems than we are concerned about our local our local problems we have a we have a bridge to come
01:18:12.980 on to manitoulin island that's it's almost 120 years old the bridge the bridge is in major need
01:18:18.980 of replacement and uh like i said there's talkers and there's doers we uh we talk a lot about
01:18:24.500 replacing the bridge and changing it and repairing it and stuff and but when it comes down to the
01:18:30.100 doing all we're doing is sending money overseas instead of investing locally like like we need to
01:18:35.620 there's the integrity and the accountability as i said 100 and we do make it we do need to
01:18:45.380 make an example at some at some time in our life for for the accountability and i'm not talking
01:18:51.540 tar and feather and and you know displays but you know their pensions should be threatened if they
01:18:57.780 know that they have actually you know uh campaigned on a promise and reneged on it that's
01:19:03.460 fraud man that is fraud you are no longer allowed to be sitting in that chair let alone making bills
01:19:09.200 and and you know if we want canada to have faith in us again we have to show that we're not going
01:19:15.840 to just get you know we're not going to roll over at every single beck and call like every single
01:19:23.240 turn we're we're we're we're we're looking pretty cowardice right now there's no
01:19:29.520 takeover like we won't be sold whoever takes over canada for if it's china if it's the united states
01:19:39.200 if it's the eu i have no idea but they're not going to give us any money for it they're going
01:19:44.140 to bankrupt us they're going to they're going to they're going to shift the blame to some other
01:19:49.040 rhyme or reason um and you know that is that is my drive all my customers come into the garage
01:19:56.960 every day and they know what they're in for and they come back because they're like you know well
01:20:02.760 what's hot on the topic today it's like i don't know man like they're trying to eradicate the
01:20:08.300 monks from pei because you know china owns i think 50 51 52 percent of all the agricultural land
01:20:17.740 right now um it maybe that's not a fact but it's atrocious it's it's it's a notable amount and it 0.81
01:20:25.300 happened quite quickly and now i know some of those guys i've seen them we have we have you
01:20:31.500 know i like the island i don't see any harm but when when you break it all down to know that that's
01:20:37.660 a that's a that's a serious thing when you're controlling the food that the people consume
01:20:42.540 every day and if nova scotia is on three days of food securities and we only grow eight percent of
01:20:49.720 the food we consume well things like a bridge feeding an island it that's very very important
01:20:56.180 and when you hear somebody talking about uh focusing the the funds on foreign properties or
01:21:04.860 or other other issues when you're like hey man if that if that loblaws truck if galen weston can't
01:21:11.280 make his record profits this year i'm gonna starve so we gotta get that range rolling all they do is
01:21:18.160 they when when you talk about the funds they'll say well that's not the funds from that department
01:21:22.960 or this department or that department this this is that funds have nothing to do with the money
01:21:28.020 that's supposed to be for that and all that stuff but in the in the reality of things all the taxes
01:21:34.300 that the people pay people pay should should go towards that sort of thing and and it might not
01:21:40.540 be that department that's supposed to fund that and there might be extra money left here extra
01:21:45.000 money left there but at the end of the day we all we all have to drive those roads the ambulance has
01:21:50.680 to drive those roads to haul people to and from the hospital every everything on this island comes
01:21:56.480 across that bridge either comes across that bridge or it comes across a ferry that's over 50 years
01:22:02.180 old as well that's that's their only two two methods i need to stop there we drove by a number
01:22:11.400 of times you know on our way for trial and i know tamara's one of these days it's it's majestic
01:22:18.240 get there in the warm weather go up to the north end of the property um heaven on earth you know
01:22:25.520 worth fighting for worth worth preserving the manitoulin island to me like to know that
01:22:31.920 there's no big corporation and that that the social fabric is still there going into that
01:22:38.000 gas station and ordering your food in that i i i can't remember the name of the restaurant bud but
01:22:44.000 it's you know uh it's it's it's what it should be it's it's it's and no no no word of a lie like
01:22:51.440 that is the canada i know and i love and i respect now don't get me wrong i appreciate
01:22:56.960 brampton too for its its uh convenience sometimes like it it there's different places in canada
01:23:04.560 that must be respected and understood that we are all individuals and some of us like i grew up
01:23:10.560 hucking corn cobs at school because that was the recreational activity when the corn was in you'd
01:23:16.960 race into the field but you know downtown in in halifax in vancouver in toronto like people don't
01:23:28.240 realize what they're what what they're they should be fighting for i guess and you know with
01:23:36.400 what is a hawberry brendan a hawberry that's a that's a berry that uh that grows on a on a
01:23:42.480 foreign tree here on the island and people people use it to make jams and all kinds of other things
01:23:48.320 it's used for medicines and stuff but when you uh when you pick the bear you got to be careful you
01:23:53.680 don't get the thorns the thorn will go right through a tire so is it sweet or sour no they're
01:24:00.320 kind of bitter are they like a chokecherry yeah very similar i didn't know that well brendan i
01:24:07.760 I saw a comment from here in here a while ago from our good friend Candy
01:24:11.920 Ciro a lot of you might know Candy she was the First Nations lady that was
01:24:17.300 trampled when they brought the heavy horses in Ottawa and anyways her comment
01:24:21.980 I felt was a nice segue into our story that if you don't mind I would like you
01:24:25.540 to I'd like you to tell that story and she suggested she said that the whole
01:24:30.520 country of Canada could use a smudge and so if you want to take it away you can
01:24:35.780 tell them about what's what we did on the morning after the emergencies act was invoked so the
01:24:43.380 morning uh the morning after the emergency that was invoked i uh i actually it's it's funny how
01:24:50.580 these things come come together i got uh from my community a member of my community who i
01:24:56.900 I mean, I didn't, I got a box sent down to me when Ryan, my worker, he come down and they brought a box of gifts and stuff that people had sent from the community.
01:25:10.820 And in there was a shell, and it was full of medicines.
01:25:15.520 And we decided, looking at those medicines and everything, we decided it was fitting to have a sunrise ceremony in order to speak to the creator and show them the need that the people were facing.
01:25:32.840 in Ottawa. And we went down to, I believe it's the Navy Memorial on an island in the river,
01:25:42.200 and we had a sunrise ceremony. And I'm no expert, but we did it the best we could. And in those
01:25:50.600 moments, the power and the need and everything that you need comes together. We had the ceremony
01:25:59.720 and then uh and then we walked uh we walked down wellington street and we we smudged all the trucks
01:26:07.240 and all the signs and uh and all the messages to uh to show the creator that uh show the creator
01:26:14.040 what was happening here and uh and i believe it uh everybody was even awake yeah yeah that was
01:26:21.480 that sunrise and it was uh i believe i believe those those sort of things you know so just like
01:26:29.480 the last video when you were when you were explaining about the fire uh the fire the one
01:26:34.440 well not the last video but a couple videos ago you were explaining about the fire burning out
01:26:38.440 all of a sudden and then all of a sudden your mic goes up things uh yeah yeah things just happen
01:26:45.480 like that and it was uh that that that ceremony and uh that we had it was uh i believe it uh
01:26:57.160 i believe it brought recognition i mean you look at you look at the emergencies act and
01:27:02.120 and even though it happened and the awful thing happened with candy and the
01:27:08.200 trampling and stuff and we uh you know we there was there was things that uh there was things
01:27:14.920 that happened those those horses that they were they were riding those horses they were riding
01:27:20.120 they uh we had uh there was toilet paper that uh saturated in coyote urine because you can you can
01:27:28.840 take the you can take the you can take the wild you can train the horse to be uh to be domesticated
01:27:36.760 but you can't take its natural instinct out of them and uh and when those horses smelled that
01:27:41.960 coyote urine they were not they never trampled anyone after that they just stood there and put
01:27:47.000 put their heads up and down and uh the wind the wind that day that day that the coyote urine was
01:27:53.440 being laid the wind was blowing right in the horse's face and they just stood there and they
01:27:58.720 didn't they didn't come towards the people and they then they took the horses away and that's
01:28:02.380 when that's when things turned even i'll i'll tell i'll tell the a little interlude of the story
01:28:09.540 the confusion in chris's face i don't know did you have you heard the story yet chris
01:28:13.200 of candace and the horses or no no so the can when candace was trampled down by the war memorial
01:28:20.720 it was a separate situation um and yes definitely unfortunate and how that you know as as they
01:28:26.540 started to progress down um we were at the the museum of money on bank street there and there
01:28:34.100 was a lineup and um you know we were you know we were well aware they were going to bring the
01:28:39.240 horses back out and use them um so brennan and i brennan what was your buddy's name jamie dustin
01:28:47.020 dustin um and you know this is crazy that would all tie us together the the power of the smudge
01:28:54.660 and candy saying we need this much that was the first time i had ever experienced anything like
01:28:59.880 that and it it it went it is right from the tip of your toes to the back of your ears and all the
01:29:06.040 way through there is no way that you can denounce the the power of the the moment and the spiritual
01:29:13.140 aspect of it it was it was incredible for me and i hope everybody's experience is the exact same
01:29:19.400 or you i shouldn't say exact same i hope they get what they what i got out of it because it was
01:29:24.880 awesome so here we are at the holiday inn and we're in his service truck and dustin goes and
01:29:30.680 And they go to Canadian Tire and buy them out of coyote urine out of the hunting zone.
01:29:37.480 And we take a Ziploc bag and we emptied them into a Ziploc bag with a toilet paper roll in it.
01:29:44.580 And then we grabbed the toilet paper rolls and we walked right up to the front line with all the beat junkies and all the batons and all the riding and all the nonsense.
01:29:54.120 And we just sat there and one by one we laid these shit tickets out across the intersection.
01:29:59.720 and then we stood back and watched the horses come down in their brigade as they were coming
01:30:04.680 down and i'm on top of the the buildings it's kind of funny it comes out of the ground on an
01:30:09.880 odd angle and you're right across from the the parliamentary gates and all of a sudden these
01:30:16.240 riders there was nothing they could do to keep keep on keep these horses to engaging and they
01:30:21.320 all had to turn around and and head back up the hill and uh that was definitely a huge win for
01:30:28.860 us as as far as i was concerned and it was all because like like what what can we do what can
01:30:34.520 we do you know and uh i didn't either no that's interesting it's uh yeah we've got it like i mean
01:30:43.280 there's still so much to learn and that that's that's what i'm that's why i'm really enjoying
01:30:49.620 coming back and talking about these because our perspective of it all is incredibly different um
01:30:57.100 you know to to go and see you know it was it was you know when they when they put the security fence
01:31:04.380 up around the the war memorial though that that sparked some aggressive rage and it was like hey
01:31:11.520 wait a minute no we don't need to be pissy i got an impact gun i got sockets and we're just going
01:31:16.660 to take the fence down and we're going to stack it over here nicey nice we're not going to disrespect
01:31:21.340 it all when they show up we're going to be like actually there was a misunderstanding you guys
01:31:25.800 thought you needed to do to help but we've actually got this right here these are veterans
01:31:31.400 this is their memorial you guys just you know carry on have a nice day now and do me a favor
01:31:44.440 i remember walking around the corner and the vets were taking the fence down around the war monument
01:31:49.640 and they actually set up in the corner there they had a tent they had a heater and they
01:31:53.480 stood guard on that war monument they took the role of that fence and those those gestapo forces
01:31:59.720 come rolling in there remember all dressed in yellow they were going to kick some ass when
01:32:04.120 they came around there and they realized that they were outnumbered and they had veterans
01:32:07.880 surrounding them and we were chanting and and what were we doing we were singing oh canada were we
01:32:12.200 not yeah and you know like i i know i know some of those people like poor chris like anybody that
01:32:18.440 that that had to witness that like minutes before they took that assault rifle and smashed him in
01:32:24.600 his leg he told that those officers standing right there that he was a veteran that he had shrapnel
01:32:31.480 in his leg and that he's standing there on behalf of you know what he thought was right
01:32:39.080 he was hit with an rpg in uh in afghanistan was he not or you know and i don't in afghanistan
01:32:46.440 i don't find any reason to have have any reason to doubt that man like being in his presence
01:32:52.680 i don't get that whiff of or that that fake persona that that is radiating in these groups
01:33:00.440 like that the people that that are are reaching out right now and and coming up with these absurd
01:33:06.440 things that are are doing nothing but dividing us like if any time four years later of all the
01:33:14.760 ostrich farm and the either we can name them downtown toronto uh you know uh all all through
01:33:22.360 the maritimes here that the separatist movements the oil yes oil no donald trump greenland
01:33:28.360 it is all taking us off the eye of the prize and it is holding them to accountability and bringing
01:33:35.000 back bringing back that canadian pride you know like we really have to hit it home and it is going 0.99
01:33:42.600 going to be the working class that does it it is going to be the ones that will weather the storm 0.86
01:33:48.700 that aren't in it for the clickbait that we're not in it for the money you know that is that'll
01:33:54.780 be that is the telltale right there are like what is why are you here and if it if it's a
01:34:01.500 why did you guys go to ottawa i know why i went and i don't think my reason was the exact same
01:34:09.180 is yours so that's every other citizen of canada and why they decided to go and we should be
01:34:15.780 nurturing and cherishing that and and right now we're we're actually not we're we have we have
01:34:21.840 dropped the ball incredibly um we we are we are choosing to engage in the in the nonsense that
01:34:29.140 they desire and i really hope with all my heart that we can we can come together and unify you
01:34:37.280 know stand stand and say nothing say nothing may our may our silence be deafening and then we don't
01:34:45.020 have to worry about who said what and who's doing who and and who did that no no we're just going
01:34:50.380 to stand there and we're not going to contribute any more like they want us to we're going to
01:34:54.500 contribute the way we deserve to be treated by one another and it's do no harm it's it's it's
01:35:01.860 And if you do, then you are faced with with a group of your peers and not marshaled through the court system, like expecting the bar to come and save you and the RCMP to investigate themselves.
01:35:14.780 It's that's insanity.
01:35:18.220 We can't we can't build on like Brennan was saying, that's a foundation.
01:35:22.640 Right. And if we're going to rebuild this country, we need to start with a real solid foundation and letting the people of this country down like we are.
01:35:31.860 Because we're just we're interested in the in the swag and we're interested in the in the static.
01:35:40.280 You know, Brendan and I are far too busy to engage in the nonsense.
01:35:43.700 It's why I'm not active on the X.
01:35:46.040 Why I don't have a real presence.
01:35:48.960 We are working our ass off to pay the money that they are demanding.
01:35:54.460 We contribute so they can piss it away.
01:35:57.040 Yeah.
01:35:57.520 we've got to get away from this feeling that every six months or every three months
01:36:04.160 we're going back to ottawa for another convoy and i i see a distraction in that and it almost makes
01:36:10.040 me puke a little bit inside my mouth every time i see that again now because i don't think ottawa
01:36:14.660 is the solution for anything i think your local communities are the solution for everything
01:36:18.660 and getting involved with that local community and even your federal or your provincial politics
01:36:23.020 is going to be the way that we get through this the infighting and everyone trying to go to ottawa
01:36:27.240 every two months is not the way to do it i see too many distractions with that it has to happen
01:36:33.080 everywhere i think chris because like i like i was getting at i've been hammering my municipal
01:36:39.400 government on an evidence-based topics and they completely back burner you um the the people like
01:36:48.440 i'm getting more justification or satisfaction off of the public off the social media uh and
01:36:55.160 they're not acknowledging that you know we just had a deed transfer tax put through six of the
01:37:00.280 councillors campaigned against increasing taxes within a very short time of obtaining the seat
01:37:06.600 they all voted for it but we did a public poll out of the populace here that clearly stated
01:37:15.080 that it was in the 90 percentile that we do not want any more taxes we want to know what you're
01:37:21.800 doing with the tax money we're already contributing and when i opened up these un agendas and these iso
01:37:28.600 certifications i'm like well here's a little bit maybe we doge this slightly and figure out where
01:37:34.920 the millions are going municipally and then you know i've got chris donchermont right down here
01:37:40.280 like he i i when i go to canadian tire i and i go if i if i went to tim hortons i'd be looking at
01:37:47.480 chris d'entremont's office and curdle my blood and change my outlook of the day because knowing
01:37:54.600 that the liberal government has just opened up 74 000 or 47 pardon me i mean it's a lot of money
01:38:05.400 and that's our money that's not that's not but those cabinets coming in his pocket you're
01:38:11.800 absolutely right it's not coming out of his pocket those offices need to be full of people asking
01:38:18.280 those questions people need to get off their asses and get into those those town hall meetings
01:38:22.920 because it's open to the public right where on the cbc chris yeah 100 are indoctrinated breakfast
01:38:30.680 television global at lunch sandy rinaldo at dinner time like how do you hip check somebody so hard
01:38:37.160 and then keep them out of it when we went to ottawa we sat there and we planted seeds
01:38:43.100 and we knew that they were going to mow them down and we knew they were going to that it
01:38:48.000 was only going to be a couple of them that sprouted and when we left those streets the
01:38:53.120 hornet's nest of the the weef uh uh the the the the financial sector the education sector the
01:39:02.040 healthcare sector we we essentially took a stick and beat the snot out of these hornets nests and 0.94
01:39:07.520 we we tried our best to expose them let them out in the cold hopefully a couple of them shrivel up 1.00
01:39:13.500 you know but every single one of us left those streets of ottawa a little more aware of why
01:39:19.820 or the mechanism of what brought us to that position in our life through the mandates and
01:39:26.080 these overreaches and anybody that was actually there and worked it never never turned that off
01:39:33.040 in in their heads and that is the battle we are facing it's you know my parents i've had very
01:39:39.860 great conversations and be like yes you know this and our cpp and our contributions and maybe you
01:39:45.800 should take it now i don't think it'll be left anyways the reality is yeah you're 100 right and
01:39:52.460 next thing you know well i saw on cnn and it's like this past summer this past summer when the
01:40:02.460 tariffs and everything came in effect i look at i look at what happened here locally and some some
01:40:08.220 examples that i see and we we're we're unable to get commodities that we depend on and the counter
01:40:16.700 tariffs you know hold your elbow and all this stuff i look at it and this summer you could
01:40:21.740 hardly even buy a lawnmower around here because most of the lawnmowers are produced in in america 1.00
01:40:27.660 and and our our tariffs that we put on the lawnmowers so now we're forced to rely on chinese
01:40:33.980 chinese lawnmowers and stuff because because of these tariffs and the you know we look at 0.97
01:40:41.740 you look at it and now the evs and all the stuff that's going on and and it's all just
01:40:48.060 it's there's no accountability there's no and i don't know what our path is to get back to that
01:40:54.860 yet but what i do know the convoy happened organically it wasn't it wasn't planned to
01:41:00.220 happen the way it was it just happened and we found a path we found a path to get through it
01:41:06.860 and at the end of it we we see the positive outcomes i mean when i when i went home i was
01:41:12.860 able to stop at a restaurant and have a meal and when and and that uh and that changed we were able
01:41:19.420 to keep doing doing what we do with our livelihoods and uh and i think i think eventually eventually
01:41:26.860 we're going to get to a point where the grassroots canadians the grassroots canadians are
01:41:32.620 are going to find find what what we need to do we're resourceful people we'll find what we need
01:41:38.220 to do i i keep believing in that in order to uh in order to move forward it's coming i agree no
01:41:45.740 you're right canada will be saved by canadians i agree and not by the politicians and you know i
01:41:52.460 was just talking with my husband on the way up here today about this and about you know and i've
01:41:57.180 said it before the problem with politics is that it's full of politicians and i have somebody say
01:42:01.500 to me today well why don't you run as an mp um like a friend of mine called me with the same
01:42:06.700 concerns that you mentioned sam about alberta separation and he suggested well you know become
01:42:12.460 an mp or run for mp and and i said why they're cogs in the same wheel you get elected like you
01:42:19.260 just said about your local councillors you get elected and then you still have to tow the party
01:42:24.300 line they have a position in the parties to ensure that you tow the party line called a whip yeah
01:42:31.900 and so you are taught you don't you don't advocate for your constituents after that point you advocate
01:42:37.580 for your party leader or whatever the party dictates and so i you know getting into politics
01:42:42.540 is i don't think it's that's i don't think it's going to work i mean i give kudos people like
01:42:46.540 andrew lawton and matt strauss and you know there's some really wonderful mps have been uh
01:42:52.860 that are that were elected in the last election and i you know i hope they can make changes i
01:42:57.660 really hope so but i mean you guys have seen the question period just as much as i have and
01:43:03.740 you see what happens in there it's i feel like they're all cogs in the same wheel and i like
01:43:07.820 pierre polyev i do like pierre polyev i certainly think he'd make a better prime minister it's it's
01:43:15.260 yeah well it doesn't sit well exactly that it's like man you know and and right back to stephen
01:43:22.220 harper he's the one that put the consumer car or the corporate carbon tax on like we can we 0.77
01:43:27.580 We can sit there and poke fun at the red and blame all this, 0.99
01:43:30.740 but you need the yin to the yang. 0.99
01:43:33.780 They are quite content with being the opposition.
01:43:37.100 There has been many times that they have completely dropped the ball
01:43:40.460 in the winning stretch, and I believe, and this is just me,
01:43:44.760 it's like watching a football game.
01:43:46.380 When the numbers are coming in in these elections,
01:43:49.200 and I've just left my polling station, and yet I come home seven kilometers,
01:43:55.120 and it's like, oh, it closed.
01:43:56.340 i'm like no way man margaret may can't even she can't count her fingers that fast let alone all
01:44:01.940 the ballots you're telling me that it's closed and it's over and it was a landslide i'm like no
01:44:09.620 it's a lie it's another facet of the harm in which we are taking on the chin we went to the
01:44:16.980 supreme court here in in nova scotia for our municipal elections because we found the fraud
01:44:24.020 there is landowners there is property owners here that because for the first time now we have to
01:44:29.220 have it digital well there's no way to scrutinize it so then when we actually did try to and we found
01:44:36.180 it and we go to them they're like oh yeah well uh well we won't do that next time and of course
01:44:41.700 everybody's like well that's good enough yeah that's good enough and i'm like no it's not good
01:44:47.380 enough this is where's the accountability the account where is the accountability that we're
01:44:52.340 locking down all levels i have friends that if i have friends that you know i have great friends
01:44:57.300 across the convoy the freedom convoy in 2022 what it changed for my life is it brought me out of a
01:45:05.620 really dark spot and it showed me just how small candidate it is how impactful one person can be
01:45:13.540 and let alone a whole bunch of people you know we really did move mountains we have exposed some of
01:45:20.740 the some of the world's most harmful issues you know whether we've rectified any or or it's helped
01:45:28.260 us at all maybe we don't know that's up for conversation but the fact is that we know 0.99
01:45:34.100 around the world they are they are massacring people they the there's re-migration policies
01:45:41.120 that we're following almost to a tee um and and and you know if if there's no confidence in the 0.66
01:45:48.860 strong people in in our worlds and in our lives nobody to lean back on we might as well just give
01:45:55.460 it away and and and it shouldn't be the highest bidder or the one that we think is the best but
01:46:01.060 the way the way we're allowing the division to go like it's uh i still get praise across canada
01:46:10.760 from great people who are like hey Sam I saw you address uh council uh that was awesome it sparked
01:46:17.960 me and and I went and stood up with this and I met some Sikh people in the lower mainland and 0.85
01:46:23.240 they're on about the Soji 123 and the sexualization of the children and I'm like awesome we just went 0.90
01:46:29.000 and saw the drag queen story time at the local pub with the police chief walked in there with
01:46:34.000 all the little kids to watch the story time at a drinking facility during daylight hours and I'm
01:46:39.760 sitting there i'm like yeah yeah yeah but the guy that wants to have the strip club in the
01:46:44.520 industrial park there that's a hard no no he can't he can't possibly do that but if the kids want to
01:46:51.680 be subjected to a grown man in tights reading fairy tales we're actually going to support that
01:46:57.600 with our our and and it's like you know guys we actually should be grown-ups and start talking
01:47:02.660 about this because it's getting a little bit out of hand and you know without sorry chris no i was
01:47:10.580 going to say about the drag queen i've been to the local bar one of our local pubs when we've had a
01:47:15.380 drag queen evening i guess i had an amazing time it was a bar though and it was it was for adults
01:47:22.900 not children what an awesome experience that i we actually had that night but there's a completely
01:47:28.740 different thing when you subject children to that they don't know enough about what they're looking
01:47:33.620 at and that that's the root of the evil right there we can allow that sort of thing in this
01:47:38.280 country with open arms but there's a there's a limit to what children should be exposed to in
01:47:43.880 this country i think people need to start you know you had a choice to walk into that facility
01:47:48.660 so when we were there with jeff everly and dotty and ray and thank god ray was there
01:47:54.500 you know it's like there were people they actually bust people in from halifax to be
01:47:59.980 counter protesters and put them behind a chain link fence and we we just stood on the other
01:48:04.760 side of the road we didn't we didn't say a thing there was only five or six of us in the pouring
01:48:08.880 rain and the opposition over there they they every time one would walk out it was like a it was like 1.00
01:48:15.080 a stadium would go live and then we watched these same two women march these kids from somewhere 0.97
01:48:21.980 at the crosswalk over okay everybody hold hands like the most cute adorable little thing and then 1.00
01:48:27.500 watch them walk into the king's arm pub in kentville and be subjected to that demonic nonsense
01:48:34.080 without their parents and i don't know maybe they had their permission slip signed but what these
01:48:39.540 eyes saw was not genuine it wasn't wholesome and it it opens up room for discussion and i'm i have
01:48:48.880 i have family members that are same-sex uh lovers and partners and i whatever i love them both of
01:48:56.100 all my heart 100 subjecting something sexual an adult is subjecting something sexual to a child
01:49:02.840 i think in canada there's laws against that like and if there isn't there should be um children
01:49:08.460 should they're innocent they need to have their youth and their innocence growing used to be
01:49:13.300 There used to be.
01:49:14.140 There's a lot of laws in Canada.
01:49:15.620 It's just that the only selective ones are in court.
01:49:19.220 Yeah.
01:49:19.720 So this is it.
01:49:20.380 Putting our faith back into the bar to represent you guys.
01:49:23.660 Up to two hours.
01:49:24.680 I can't believe it.
01:49:26.520 After what happened, like you guys were put on public display.
01:49:30.560 We were put on public display.
01:49:33.380 Yeah.
01:49:34.280 It's been a great chat.
01:49:36.340 It has.
01:49:36.940 Brendan, I like that hoodie, by the way.
01:49:38.480 I noticed that.
01:49:39.620 Thank you so much for that.
01:49:40.820 Freedom over fear.
01:49:42.440 That's sad.
01:49:43.300 it's cool work to live by it is yeah well guys it's almost been two hours we usually keep it
01:49:49.540 at an hour and a half and we let everybody go so we're really appreciate you guys coming on we
01:49:54.020 want to maybe do this again we want to keep telling the different sides of the story from
01:49:57.940 convoy and it was an honor having both my internet seems to be getting worse and worse
01:50:02.100 as we go here four years ago what were we doing exactly right living our butts off buddy
01:50:08.980 but living again after two years of lockdowns we were living again we were smiling we were smiling
01:50:15.640 every single one of us was smiling i don't think the hair grew back on my cap maybe not me
01:50:21.900 and guys i want to mention too congratulations to tony olnick he is now out of uh federal
01:50:30.180 right now and drum heller and in the back with his family again so tony we're super excited for that
01:50:35.460 But we just pray that this comes to an end with you guys out there.
01:50:39.640 The Coots boys have been through more than anyone can possibly imagine.
01:50:43.220 Been on our thoughts and our prayers since day one.
01:50:46.780 And don't forget about Riplen to keep Jonathan in your prayers.
01:50:52.660 He was sent back to emergency this morning with some fluid on his lungs,
01:50:56.000 so they're dealing with that right now.
01:50:57.780 I didn't know.
01:50:58.360 I did chat with Christine a bit ago, and she said it's worrisome,
01:51:02.700 but they seem to have it under control.
01:51:04.180 but please keep our good friend jonathan right blend in your prayers sam and brendan we're gonna
01:51:11.540 do this again yeah uh this was absolutely incredible i want to thank you guys both for
01:51:16.660 joining us um what an absolute pleasure uh any any final thoughts real quick brendan go ahead
01:51:25.460 um i'm just i just i'm just looking back four years ago when we were at the convoy and i think
01:51:31.780 i think if we're going to do this again i'd like to like to try and focus on how to how to get back
01:51:37.220 to that togetherness with the with all the group of with the group of all the all the freedom people
01:51:42.820 that were there i mean we there was a sense of there was a sense of belonging and togetherness
01:51:48.580 that they just that that's that's what i want to see i want to see get back to that i agree
01:51:54.900 absolutely like i said you guys can follow brendan on i guess facebook he said he does
01:52:02.260 have a twitter account but he doesn't easy said so you can find brendan on facebook and obviously
01:52:06.980 if you're driving past manitoulin island you must stop he knows all the best places to eat
01:52:12.580 sam final thoughts focus on the love guys um canada's worth fighting for there's there is
01:52:20.260 definitely uh there there's no shortage of things to break or there's no shortage of things that
01:52:26.500 are broken i should say and uh and just just know that one nut and bolt in a time we can actually
01:52:32.460 make dreams come true and uh i i think if we can just stay hard fast folks on love and thank you
01:52:39.620 to all the listeners and every supporter from from here and there that that that really helped
01:52:45.440 us weather the storm from the time we left to the time we come back and even today i i uh i'm
01:52:51.600 forever grateful for uh for the people that chose to stand up and and my good buddy brennan i can't
01:52:58.080 wait to grow old with you buddy we're gonna be the convoy uh yeah me too the convoy was one of
01:53:03.040 those moments where where you're you're downtown ottawa with all the people and i don't know about
01:53:08.160 you guys but for two years taking hands it was something that you just you just didn't do you
01:53:13.280 didn't give somebody a hug and like you we missed that that interaction and uh we gained it back
01:53:19.040 overnight at the convoy and it was uh something magical yep those who were there will never be
01:53:24.720 able to forget it in a positive light so yeah yeah stay tuned all right okay yeah you've got a good
01:53:31.840 fight guys we'll do this again soon you guys thanks for coming on yeah thanks everyone for being here
01:53:38.560 uh yeah and thank you everyone for tuning in this was a little bit longer than we normally
01:53:42.800 ago which is totally fine it was a great conversation and i could listen to these guys
01:53:46.180 talk all night long um just some announcements for you that we have um we've got next week
01:53:52.140 uh kayla pollock is going to join us kayla is you probably know her story but she is um
01:53:57.880 backs injured and she has quite a tale to tell so we're going to have her on our on our show next
