00:08:50.260you know I've got four other trucks on the road if those trucks don't hit the schedule that they're
00:08:54.960supposed to be on for the week and it it commonly happens and somebody has to step up and hit that
00:08:59.840load so I'm that guy that does all the administrative work the paperwork the dispatch and
00:09:04.660and then I have to try and make up for that so I kind of pick and choose what loads I do
00:09:09.320and it's been a struggle the last of a while I know it's made her fairly frustrated with my
00:09:13.900you know lack of knowing where I'm going to be five days in advance and so this week it was
00:09:19.120amazing i just emailed on monday and i said listen i've got parts that i have to get in swift current
00:09:23.400on monday i'm gonna leave on tuesday i'm gonna go to nebraska a little combine possibly a little
00:09:28.440wednesday i'll be back saturday at the latest and i'm trying to give myself that extra time in case
00:09:33.080i have problems and and right away the email came back in saying you know only a day and a half to
00:09:37.920get there but two and a half days to get home and am i missing something and and i just yeah you're
00:09:43.560missing a lot i didn't make my load appointment yesterday so i loaded this morning and as i got
00:09:48.000loaded this fog bank rolled in on nebraska and it just was quarter mile visibility and most people
00:09:54.240know i'm just under 12 ui coming home i'm not allowed to drive in adverse weather conditions
00:09:59.680and fog is a limiting factor to that so right away i had to unhook the trailer i bob tailed down to
00:10:05.200the truck stop and i spent you know until 1 30 there sitting out waiting for the fog so where
00:10:11.040i should have been home friday afternoon i will be home now saturday so i'm glad i booked that
00:10:17.120and that's just another contributing factor to just how many things change in a week for me but
00:10:20.960we're working through it um we're trying to find that common ground yeah exactly i mean i i did
00:10:27.920tweet about this today too you know their their their relationship between the accused that's
00:10:33.120really what we are like on any documents i sign as i'm accused um and and their probation officer
00:10:39.920really is one of um earning trust i think on both sides you know um obviously with some of
00:10:48.640our dealings you know we're going to be less trusting walking into that office and i mean
00:10:53.440they don't know they don't know us either so i think i mean i look at my exemption to go to
00:10:58.400manitoba um as a win um and you know an opportunity really to obviously i've earned enough of their
00:11:07.360trust that they're willing to let me go out of jurisdiction um i was going to be able to go
00:11:11.520anyways to manitoba at some point because the judge you know had to put that in the conditions
00:11:16.160at our sentencing however um it was just the ins and outs of it right so so i mean that's just uh
00:11:23.360that's just one of the things that we have to do i mean we're in the system now we are in the system
00:11:28.080now and they're in my view there is only one successful path out of the system and that is by
00:11:35.760abiding by our conditions and and following the law so um yeah here we are that is our circumstances
00:11:45.360and i by by all means i said that i i've drafted a video about your house you know visited 12 30
00:11:50.880and i haven't posted yet because i'm just still sitting on it but you know we're not against
00:11:57.040law enforcement we're not out here breaking rules and and you know just like having a conversation
00:12:02.240with my my person in the office there when i was asked my feelings towards the canadian justice
00:12:08.060system and i bluntly said i think it's been hijacked by politicians and it's been weaponized
00:12:13.820by politicians and we are a product of that it's evident that this has been a political persecution
00:12:19.280right from the start so we're not criminals per se i still don't see myself as a criminal even
00:12:24.140though the government does um we're not out here to break the rules they're not just on a breach
00:12:29.900Exactly. Exactly. Well, I forgot to mention last week when I had my meeting with with my officer last week, she'd at our initial I'm sure I told you guys about the interview that we did.
00:12:42.120So we did an interview over the course of two appointments where, you know, they really she asked me a bunch of questions and assesses if I'm going to reoffend or this or that.
00:12:51.820And really, it's about getting to know me. So I actually took her one of my books last week and I said, I don't think you can accept this as a gift.
00:12:59.900i don't think they are allowed to do that but i would gladly lend you my book you you said you
00:13:04.620wanted to learn about me and learn about my motivations and my upbringing and you know
00:13:09.580a lot of things so read my book so and she took it so hopefully she does read it we'll see
00:13:15.500it might be informative it might be all right okay well i guess that's pretty much it for the
00:13:22.380update on our house or as for now we've got uh gourd and uh tom and ray is standing back in
00:13:29.880backstage so ruby i will get you to run our clip and then we will bring tonight's guests on we've
00:13:35.820got author ray mcginnis and gourd mcgill also an author with a book coming out next week um so go
00:13:43.020ahead ruby and roll that clip and anthony olenik pled not guilty to all the charges against them
00:13:50.680They were there exercising their rights to object to government policies, and due to very powerful forces, they've been caught up and railroaded, really, by the government and sort of used as...
00:14:11.680There's a publication ban, which is quite specific to an unsealed envelope and some redacted documents that nobody can see.
00:14:24.500I think we arrested one of us. We're not sure 100% yet, but I think so because I don't see him around here.
00:14:29.820They are charged with conspiracy to murder. The Crown is alleging that they conspire to murder police officers.
00:14:36.840They're both also being charged with unlawful possession of firearms for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.
00:14:46.240They're also both being charged with mischief inducing damage over $5,000 for willfully obstructing lawful use of Highway 4 without color of right.
00:14:56.600Anthony Olenek has one unique charge against him that Chris Carver does not have.
00:15:00.980he's being accused of unlawful possession of an explosive device an incendiary device
00:15:06.820we will be here for the boys in ottawa until all of canada is free
00:15:14.760wow welcome ray and gourd to the show and also as always mr tamarazzo thank you guys for coming
00:15:25.420how are you doing tonight good yeah great to be on the panel with uh these great guests obviously
00:15:36.220you and chris and tamara so this is good and nice to see uh both gordon ray again
00:15:43.820and we saw you guys the sentencing yeah i i wanna i wanna plug ray's book because that's what i do
00:17:21.460Yeah. Well, you know, and it's great to be talking about it.
00:17:24.880And of course there's been quite a lot of people who've been covering this.
00:17:28.540I mean, I've been able to, I've met Chris Carbert and I've met Chris Lysak and
00:17:35.000I've spoken to, I think both of the other guys earlier on.
00:17:39.780And I was able to go to a couple of, like, three days I was in Lethbridge, sort of at the point where the Crown had finished and the defense began to make their arguments for acquittal in Lethbridge in the middle of the Coutts II trial.
00:17:59.660but one thing i want to not forget and you can weave me in when you want is uh i i write about
00:18:07.900and i've made some notes for for this evening to talk about how this how this came up at the public
00:18:15.260order emergency commission and and which people were talking about what was happening in coots
00:18:20.620as an example to say see this is why we had to invoke the emergencies act it's a it's it's useful
00:18:26.780to know how how coots was used as as yet another reason uh for for why the government was justified
00:18:35.500in the view of senior bureaucrats and certain politicians yeah i i have an anecdote to share
00:18:42.140that ties into something ray just said because there was a very curious decision made on the
00:18:50.220part of RCMP at Coots about four days before the arrests started happening on the night of February
00:18:57.54013th. And that has to do with the necessity or what we believe is the necessity on the part of
00:19:07.680the government to keep the protest going. And it actually says that in court documents. And it's
00:19:13.740highlighted by brendan miller's appeal uh which is before the courts right now uh we should be
00:19:20.260getting the the guesstimate is that we will get a ruling on that in february but uh miller is
00:19:26.560essentially asking to have all of the convictions um for tony's you know on the minor charges thrown
00:19:33.840out uh based on uh charter breaches uh and the actions of the rcmp and uh when we get to that
00:19:42.740It'll kind of remind you a little bit of other instances where the RCMP are basically keystone cops and doing things really ass-backwards and putting the public in danger if the story in Coots is actually to be believed.
00:20:05.220Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm very sick. I have a pretty serious lung infection, and I've been coughing like a maniac here for a few weeks, and it just won't let me go.
00:20:13.620it's okay no problem no problem at all yeah ray how did you get um started and i mean
00:20:19.860how did you get started and involved in reporting on these cases because i mean i i've i've talked
00:20:25.140to you numerous times and you sort of started um your journey kind of on the other side of the
00:20:30.740fence so how what what brought you to the point where you're at today uh what led you to start
00:20:35.860reporting um on this case um specifically yeah so so yeah i mean not everybody who's the son of a
00:20:43.540dentist normally ends up in the position i'm in so uh and and and yeah my background you know upper
00:20:51.060you know like the west side of vancouver all of the uh most of the of the of the close friends
00:20:58.100of my parents were were almost invariably back in the 60s and 70s because i'm i'm a kind of child of
00:21:04.260the 60s and 70s and almost everybody who came to the home for a party or dinner was almost always
00:21:11.940at that time doctor and mrs so-and-so they were either doctors physicians dentists chiropractors
00:21:18.900you know all of that and they all went to one of a number of different private golf clubs so
00:21:25.140so my view always of physicians and all of that was was a certain thing and then also i had no
00:21:30.740So aside from one other dentist's son who chose to surprisingly not go to university like the rest of us and become a truck driver, and Alan was doing this and making good money, but we all just thought, well, isn't that a curious thing to do?
00:21:48.340So this is kind of the background I had. So when the protests were happening in 2022, I already had a friend who had eagerly gone to get vaccinated because he was now, you know, they could do it in June of 2021 and he got the AstraZeneca and he got within 12 hours a catastrophic stroke.
00:22:13.540he couldn't talk he couldn't walk and he still can't work and all of that is going on for him
00:22:20.660so and then there were a couple of other other people that i knew who had you know for atrial
00:22:26.260fibrillation or or they couldn't or they were out of out of breath within a block and had to take a
00:22:31.380taxi everywhere because they couldn't walk so or they couldn't move very well so i knew that the
00:22:36.260whole thing about the the vaccine certainly it was if it was safe it wasn't safe for everybody
00:22:41.140and uh so so by the time the uh the protests were happening and i also i haven't had a tv since night
00:22:48.720since the persian gulf war so i don't get my you know i don't get the kind of visuals that other
00:22:53.960people get so i was listening to people who were going for walks with me exploding and how angry
00:22:59.300they were with the protesters and in ottawa and so on and then you know the gun the gun photo
00:23:05.480with the RCMP in Coutts. And it was after the Prime Minister invoked the
00:23:12.160Emergencies Act that I just thought there was something really fundamentally
00:23:16.040wrong with this, and so I wrote an article that ended up being on, and I have
00:23:20.720no connection to media, so I ended up on something called Dissident Voice, which
00:23:25.660is actually kind of a left-wing platform in the States, critiquing the
00:23:29.560Emergencies Act. And then from there I kind of went on catching up to a
00:23:34.300lot of things that have been happening online and and then chose to go to after there was enough
00:23:40.540that that stunk to me i decided to find a fly out to the public organization be there for a week in
00:23:47.500the middle of november of 2022 and i had at that point i've been just keeping notes i had written
00:23:53.980a number of articles that were mostly actually out of european websites or in getting interviewed
00:24:00.220by people in Portugal and France and Germany. But in any event, I got encouraged to write a book
00:24:08.780about this. And so after I'd written a long article that was critiquing the POEC report in
00:24:16.480late February of 2023, which was on the Covert Action magazine out in Washington, D.C., I got
00:24:23.780a lot of people saying, don't stop writing, write a book. So as a result of that, then I
00:24:29.640you know started meeting people like trish wood and uh and she encouraged me uh not just to you
00:24:36.500know be writing about the the convoy in ottawa but also you know do some more right write about
00:24:42.720what's happening in coots so then i ended up doing that and ended up getting on a variety
00:24:47.620of different podcasts talking about that but also writing and researching what i could you know from
00:24:53.680from you know from my perch in vancouver so it's it's been a really interesting ride because
00:24:59.360uh i i just call myself the unexpected author of this kind of material right yes right well
00:25:07.680well done and gordon how did you get involved in uh covering the coot story oh wow good uh
00:25:15.520pardon me uh well uh the lady who's most responsible for that i see is in the uh
00:25:21.680comments and is watching and that is my auntie kate and um my auntie kate hooked me up with
00:25:28.640margaret mckay because i had started my sub stack a couple years ago just to sort of write about
00:25:36.120trucking and host my podcast mostly about trucking um i had written a few articles in defense of the
00:25:42.220convoy for newsweek magazine here in the united states and uh my auntie kate had told me she's
00:25:49.140like you know did you know these guys in alberta are still in prison and like they haven't been
00:25:53.820given bail. And I'm like, what? I haven't heard anything about that. And so I started chasing it
00:25:58.640down. I interviewed Margaret for my show. Then I ended up speaking with Nikki Tom, who's one of
00:26:06.220Tony Olienek's best friends and has been one of their most solid supporters and doing an awful
00:26:11.400lot of the legwork for the guys, kind of taking on a second job as a paralegal for the legal team
00:26:18.540for everybody, you know, amongst other, you know, women in that group behind them. And it just kind
00:26:23.520of went from there. My editor at Newsweek, former editor, bought Younger Sargon. She's no longer
00:26:29.300with them. She heard my interview with Margaret and said, hey, this story is nuts. Do you want
00:26:34.980to write about it for Newsweek? So I ended up doing two articles about it there. And those
00:26:41.400two articles landed on the desk of Mr. Tucker Carlson. And I was alerted to that. And when I
00:26:51.360found out that he was gonna talk in alberta last i guess january 2024 now right um yes it's time
00:27:00.160flies hey um i i had i had been put in touch with his producers and i said you know uh he probably
00:27:07.280shouldn't talk about this before he gets there because um you know it's a pretty pretty touchy
00:27:11.960situation in alberta and you know if he comes in there guns blazing about it beforehand they might
00:27:16.780not let him on stage i was just sort of trying to say you know you know be easy before you get there
00:27:22.780and um after a bunch of back and forth emails they said you know what you should just come on
00:27:27.340the show and talk about this this is nuts and so that's how that happened and um i uh you know
00:27:35.000because i'd sort of developed some trust with uh the boys and um you know they they called me from
00:27:44.680prison and i wrote these articles i started writing more and more about it on my sub stack
00:27:49.880because you know as you know the media in canada are completely and utterly
00:27:54.760uninterested in discussing anything about this outside of the government narrative
00:27:59.640i have filed complaints with the cbc ombudsman which they have responded to i have heard back
00:28:06.920from the ombudsman i've heard back from one of the managers at cbc calgary because i've said to them
00:28:13.320I'm like, look, like you guys screwed this up badly.
00:35:12.140my my sense from i mean i did get to meet him when he there was a kind of like a barbecue
00:35:20.200uh that happened uh the week that i was out in july of 2024 and my my sense i mean i had i had
00:35:29.960dinner with him and a few other people uh the night before a couple days before the barbecue
00:35:34.940and i my sense is you know i mean i got to meet his two of his daughters and and i have a sense
00:35:41.020that he just he just wants to be out of out of the spotlight and so he's gonna move on with his
00:35:46.560life he's carrying on he's got you know a huge uh you know amount of money that he still needs to
00:35:52.560to raise to pay for his legal fees and so he's just wanting to keep you know away from uh from
00:35:59.400from the media and and you know the the bright lights and and carry on uh much like jerry and
00:36:07.260jacqueline are are telling court yes yes well i certainly don't blame those gentlemen like i said
00:36:13.200they've been they've been through so much already as it is so um i've spoke with tony a few times
00:36:20.760in the last couple years and gordon i'll echo your sentiment there he is always positive he's always
00:36:26.820you know he's never negative the guy has been through literal hell all three all four of them
00:36:32.020have been through hell when you listen to some of the stories that they can tell you know about
00:36:35.880shipping you off into the drug unit in the remand center in calgary where you know some of the
00:36:42.260stories you've heard have been absolutely gut wrenching of those of what they've been through
00:36:46.160and but Tony's always kept the spirits up and like you said holding church service and doing prayer
00:36:51.200per uh per meetings that's what Tony does and Chris you know one one thing that Gord mentioned
00:36:59.300earlier around around the CBC's coverage uh in in in late November of 2022 the CBC ran a story
00:37:07.940about about about how the coots four were um all of them were still we're still behind bars of
00:37:14.740course uh uh were uh were making phone calls to their quote unnamed bosses but we've never you
00:37:22.660know if if there are are some people who were like the the big boss somewhere in the background
00:37:27.700pulling the strings uh you know that just sort of seemed to fade away as as something that was never
00:37:34.340you know you know the crown never said oh and by the way there are these big shadowy figures in
00:37:39.460the background now we're going to name these names to see who these four men were were you
00:37:44.420know being um you know handled by and put put forward you know that was just just a story that
00:37:51.540was out there in the media that just evaporated when it came to the trial yeah a lot of things
00:37:57.460evaporated at trial um the uh this connection to diagonal on and mr mckenzie and all that crew
00:38:06.980uh total non-issue at court never mentioned just turned it was just nothing um and the government
00:38:13.460tried to make it out like these guys were part of some international conspiracy and they were0.96
00:38:18.420going to take over the entire government from goots and um i mean they literally went into0.97
00:38:23.300overdrive with the fear everyone remembers the photo of all those uh assembled weapons a number0.87
00:38:30.180of them didn't even belong to those guys and if we're gonna have a conspiracy to murder police
00:38:35.780officers how come all the other people who were implicated in the ownership of those firearms
00:38:41.780which were drawn from multiple different locations why were they not all charged with the same thing
00:38:46.900why only these four um one of the if i might get into the appeal um from brendan miller here
00:38:57.620yeah it's uh the the the facts that miller's referencing in the uh in this appeal here talk
00:39:07.460about how you know in order to get one of these wiretaps and what's the uh under the wiretaps
00:39:15.380there's like a section of the criminal code 184.4 to get a to get a warrantless wiretap you know
00:39:21.620there have to be a bunch of different conditions that are met um if you are able to arrest them
00:39:26.980before applying for the wiretap you are supposed to arrest them right and one of the things that
00:39:32.820miller is saying in the appeal is that why were they not arrested because according to the
00:39:37.540undercovers there was going to be this shipment of guns that later proven in court no guns it was a
00:39:43.940a guitar and a you know some kind of an angle grinder and then a bunch of bags of clothes
00:39:48.800there was never any guns being shipped um you know of course not not mentioned afterwards in
00:39:54.980the wash in the media about all this but the allegations that the ucos had made about this
00:40:02.020were relayed north through their chain of command on february 9th and they weren't arrested until
00:40:09.020the 13th so we have all these cops there we they they have identified jerry morin's pickup truck
00:40:16.460they have identified chris and tony or they have alleged that chris and tony are going to receive
00:40:20.540this shipment of guns why were they not immediately arrested well they weren't and they were told
00:40:26.380because they didn't want to you know they didn't want the protest to peter out they didn't want to
00:40:31.020give protesters the reason to leave what the whole point of this was to crush the freedom convoy
00:40:39.020What they didn't want to do was to get rid of Trudeau's necessary rationale for invoking the Emergencies Act.
00:40:51.080They literally could have arrested everybody involved at Goetz four days before, and they did not.
00:40:56.340So, in effect, their application for wiretaps, and it should be known here too,
00:41:03.180if anybody following the court case closely like Ray or myself knows,
00:41:07.020obviously people who are dependent on the media maybe not but um the nothing ever came up from
00:41:13.980those wiretaps there was never any actionable evidence on them so in order to avoid losing
00:41:19.260their wiretaps they did not execute an arrest based on you know alleged uh shipment and so like
00:41:27.820the port-a-peak massacre in nova scotia right like the cops know that this guy is like running loose
00:41:33.100There's a whole bunch of communication failures or intentional lack of communication.
00:41:37.320So these two undercover officers, these hot young things who are casing coots, make up this story about Tony Olienek and Chris Carbert receiving weapons in a bag from Jerry Morin, which was totally false.
00:41:50.020Right. They were implying that, trying to, like, ascertain code from their communication.
00:41:55.100their higher officers on site believed it but instead of acting on that they said nope we're
00:42:01.080not going to arrest these guys because we want to get a wiretap instead and we don't want the
00:42:06.160the protesters to disperse because if we arrest them now maybe some of them will leave like when
00:42:11.380you look at some of the documents related to what happened with the cops there it's just
00:42:15.920unbelievable stuff yeah and like that's very reminiscent of even um pre-convoy like before
00:42:22.720we left in the convoy with the with them you know the pmo and and the public safety office
00:42:28.480working in conjunction with i think it was uh global news or it was one of the mainstream
00:42:33.360medias you know saying the same thing don't come down too hard on them because we don't want to
00:42:38.080push the crazies out because they really wanted that element i think at both uh locations well
00:42:44.560all of them to to seep through that's the stuff they wanted to report on so sorry go ahead what
00:42:51.120was going on so you've got this this is you know what's what's coming out in the in the pre-trial
00:42:57.760and disclosure and and in the trial here and at the public order emergency commission uh you have
00:43:05.680person after person pointing to the situation in coots i mean they also pointing to things like
00:43:11.040the memorandum of understanding remember it was supposed to over overthrow the government right
00:43:15.200with with james bowder and a whole bunch of other things and and all the weapons that maybe are in
00:43:20.240the in the trucks and in ottawa but but but janice charette who's uh the clerk of privy council
00:43:27.280uh in her testimony regarding why she recommended provoking the university's act amongst other
00:43:32.720things going on ottawa she also says well there was this quote stash of firearms and ammunition
00:43:38.080acutes and the nature of the threat to the nation and the risk of serious violence and she she
00:43:44.080cites the quantity of weapons the ammo discovered by the rcmp and she also said that she was
00:43:50.240concerned about the insurrectionist tendencies of those who were trying to overthrow the government
00:43:56.160and install a new government and a new governor general and then you have have natalie drew on
00:44:01.680the deputy clerk of the privy council dismissing um suggestions that uh well you've got the arrests
00:44:10.880of of of these the coots four and the other uh all 13 all together um all of this happened without
00:44:20.000the invocation of the emergencies act i mean all everybody was arrested in coots before the ea was
00:44:25.360was invoked and and and she is dismissing that and saying that um that what was going on was uh
00:44:33.600you know that they couldn't have dealt with it without invoking emergencies act so you know we
00:44:38.480We know that's not true, but she was insisting that that was the case.
00:44:41.700And then Marco Mendocino, the public safety minister, is saying that the situation in Coutts was, quote, combustible, and that individuals in Coutts were prepared to go down for a fight, and that this could lead to a loss of life, and that what was happening in Coutts was, quote, a threshold moment.
00:44:58.640And Jody Thomas, the national security advisor of the prime minister, said that the Coutts blockade was, quote, part of a spectrum of activity and behavior and threat that was intolerable.
00:45:07.700intolerable yes they they are saying all this at the same time as rcmp um you know the sort of
00:45:16.380leadership group at coots are telling their officers no don't arrest these guys so there's
00:45:23.220a dangerous threat that's going to overthrow the government we know they have all these guns
00:45:27.540but don't arrest them not yet we have to wait a couple days yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah well
00:45:35.260And I mean, I was reading through some of the articles that you've sent, Ray.
00:45:39.240And I mean, one of the things in regards to the weapons that they found was, I mean, they
00:45:44.760had, they were accusing Tony of having, well, they called them pipe bombs.
00:45:49.240The RCMP called them pipe bombs because that sounds a lot more scary.
00:45:53.320However, people that know the story, correct me if I'm wrong, Tony's father used to have
00:46:07.700And they processed aggregates, sandstone, and they used to use these things called firecrackers, which are a really small explosive device, to dislodge bits that got stuck as they're like drilling holes to break up rock, right?
00:49:57.820steven johnston told rcmp that we're about to execute the warrants on chris carvert's travel
00:50:03.940trailer which is parked you know away from the protest site on another part of town of coots
00:50:09.160and because the warrants only stipulated looking for data and data devices because it was it was
00:50:17.460very very specific they were looking for information about tony's role in being the
00:50:24.300sort of like volunteer security at coots or any other related information very specific that's all
00:50:29.880you're allowed to look for right and again the the undercover officers had made all these allegations
00:50:35.900about all these things tony allegedly said no recordings audio or video of any of it it's just
00:50:41.860the ucos saying that this is what tony said no evidence of it anywhere uh the undercover officers
00:50:48.660rode around in tony's pickup truck while he was doing a security detail at coots and while they
00:50:53.600in his pickup truck they never saw any guns they never saw any devices no laptop computers no
00:50:58.560notebooks no nothing all he had was a cb radio in his clothes and his phone and that's it so they
00:51:06.240get these warrants and the allegation is that has been sealed in this envelope is that johnston
00:51:13.040who's also you know advising the rcmp at coots said grab whatever you can boys and i'll deal
00:51:19.920with it later which is illegal now that got sealed in this uh pre-trial where tony rolston was there
00:51:27.920catherine bayack uh again a couple of the other lawyers who have since changed out right so the0.61
00:51:32.560coots guys went through something like 13 or 14 lawyers throughout this entire drama0.73
00:51:36.960and those four lawyers uh crown prosecutor johnston maybe one of his one of the other
00:51:43.040crown prosecutors delittlewitz or maybe the other guy and uh david labrens the only people in this
00:51:48.640meeting johnston asks for it to be sealed rolston says there's a crime fraud exemption to this
00:51:56.720because like you can't claim solicitor client privilege because like you know there's there's
00:52:03.120an allegation that the government did something wrong the government being represented by stephen
00:52:06.960johnston labren seals it anyway and it's still sealed and when john when again when tony and
00:52:12.880chris and another a number of other people who were at the appeal hearing in september had to
00:52:18.640leave the courtroom when this was discussed because it's still considered sealed evidence
00:52:23.920if that evidence ever sees the light of day this whole thing gets thrown out
00:52:28.400and you know stephen johnston should be the guy going to court right do you think that'll ever
00:52:34.800happen where don't know i spent a day in that in that courtroom watching those boys go through
00:52:42.400what they did and it was uh has anybody ever seen uh hannibal lecter's cage and in some of the
00:52:48.000movies that's what chris and tony looked like in that courtroom two people locked in a glass cabin
00:52:53.680inside that courtroom it was absolutely disgusting wow yeah i remember that it certainly it certainly
00:53:01.360tried to make it like they were these violent criminals when you know uh tony olianic no
00:53:06.960criminal record workaholic his whole life youngest person to ever get a trade certification for
00:53:13.040plumber in the entire province of alberta because he dropped out of high school and yeah he got it
00:53:17.920he got his red seal plumbing ticket when he was like 18 or 19 or something then he goes to work
00:53:22.320with his dad then he starts running heavy equipment the guy was just a workaholic that's all he ever
00:53:26.560wanted to do is just keep on working and no no no no criminality whatsoever his entire life
00:53:33.380chris carbert got busted with a couple of hits ecstasy when he was a kid
00:53:37.380no violence no nothing never had any trouble and the government puts them in these cages as if
00:53:43.060they're like violent criminals about to jump on the crowd in court or something it was pretty
00:53:47.380disgusting as chris said well it's all about the optics like you said it's all about creating0.98
00:53:52.640you know this illusion of fear and you know we're just all a bunch of crazy violent criminals so we0.99
00:53:58.680all know that it's absolute nonsense control the messaging and you control the narrative and that
00:54:04.300is literally the government's playbook for the last how many years it's a it's a reflection of
00:54:10.700how i mean not that this is like the wizard of oz but i imagine a a musical about the convoy where
00:54:17.200they say truckers and and linemen and plumbers oh my or something like that and and so it's this
00:54:23.680this uh this uh uh making ordinary people that have solid trades jobs seem to be scary i mean
00:54:36.120it's just uh it's just really disheartening with with you know what what has been happening and
00:54:42.300And, you know, when Brenda Luckey, the RCMP commissioner, was on the stand at the public inquiry, you know, as the court has talked about this, well, everyone, you know, she's describing the coups for especially as a, quote, hardened cell.
00:54:59.140they just like you know and and you know even if they thought that the the the rcmp officers
00:55:09.580who obtain uh the uh uh the explosive device in its rusted out state uh in in tony's uh home
00:55:21.580200 kilometers away should have been able to under to to ascertain that it was not even usable if
00:55:29.980someone had wanted to use it and yet they they they ignore that and carry on ginning up uh the
00:55:36.800the fear about the whole story yeah there was a whole lot of ginning up and a whole lot of
00:55:42.140misinformation um you know they claimed coots was like some drag on the economy and that trucks
00:55:48.380couldn't get through uh one of the things a lot of people don't know is that the coots border crossing
00:55:53.180in that whole two and a half or three weeks of the protest being there was only ever closed for
00:55:58.020three days trucks could have got through it might have taken a little while longer but they could
00:56:02.460have crossed there was two other border crossings they could have used the only time the highway 4
00:56:07.000uh alberta provincial highway 4 was officially closed was by the rcmp at milk river so they're
00:56:13.700trying to make it out like these guys hanging out at the border are somehow responsible for
00:56:18.860millions of dollars of losses and they just make all that stuff up and uh there's no consideration
00:56:23.880of all the millions of dollars lost during all the lockdowns or people's lives being ruined during
00:56:29.200covid but this protest where they didn't actually close the border and the and the protesters did
00:56:34.520not close the border when the coots border crossing was closed it was closed at the direction
00:57:09.660and one of the things that was going on like in the run-up to the eventual arrests on the 13th and
00:57:15.500and tony jerry morin on the 14th is you have the situation on the i think the first of february
00:57:23.420where there were two civilians that had a minor collision uh outside of you know in the in the
00:57:30.940area of the protests on highway four and they got into an altercation and there was an assault
00:57:38.460but then what happened that night was premier jason kenney got on on in front of the media
00:57:44.460and said that the protesters were being violent and assaulting police officers
00:57:49.660it turned out the following day rebel news reporters sydney bizard or whatever he did a
00:57:56.940follow-up and interviewed constable peters who was there on the scene and said no it was two
00:58:02.220civilians that that got a little testy with each other and that was that but for many people who
00:58:07.740who who saw the news on the ctv and cbc etc they probably still believe that that there were
00:58:14.620protesters at the coots blockade punching out police officers from the beginning of the whole
00:58:19.260thing well because they they put these insinuations out there or or this misinformation and disinformation
00:58:27.180um but but then they don't get corrected they don't correct it and if they do correct it it
00:58:31.860comes out as a little teeny byline and like you know 0.5 font you know on page nine so a lot of
00:58:38.620people you're right that get their that get their information and their news from mainstream media
00:58:42.640are still going to be left with that impression so i think that someone should invent something
00:58:48.320called a credulous ohmmeter and see how credulous it can gauge how credulous a person is because
00:58:55.160there's an awful lot of people like once they've seen a headline it's a slam dunk for them
00:59:00.540yes yeah that's right and that's and that's just what they're going to believe and i mean we've
00:59:06.280seen very clearly i know myself chris and and tom for sure we've seen how people can once they have
00:59:13.040their mind made up there's nothing you can show them all the evidence in the world and nothing
00:59:17.500will will change their mind so you know they'll look they'll actually seek out information um or
00:59:24.700headlines that will fit their narrative that's that will support their narrative so i mean it's
00:59:30.700just it's incredible what these men have been through it's incredible um that it's still going
00:59:35.980on well i mean i guess i shouldn't find that too hard to believe but you know let's not forget you
00:59:40.940know how their families have suffered i know um you know tessie olianic that's that's uh
00:59:47.420obviously tony's mom betty carbert uh granny mckay who has just been nothing but a massive
00:59:53.580uh supporter these ladies have all been working tirelessly to help you know their sons and in1.00
01:00:00.300granny's case their friend um to raise money for their cases and get the word out so huge kudos to
01:00:07.180uh granny and to their families for everything that they've they've had to endure i mean as we
01:00:12.140all know uh when one of us is going through this it just doesn't affect us as an individual it
01:00:17.020affects our families um very much so like when they're when they're when there is a lie or you
01:00:24.460know put forward say by the calgary herald in late november of 2022 describing chris liesick
01:00:30.460according to Tony Olienek, and I'm sure Gordon can say something like this, the Calgary Herald
01:00:38.080quotes Tony. They say that Tony said of Chris Lysak that he was, quote, a sniper, a gunfighter,
01:00:47.840and a hitman. I mean, I can't imagine that that would be something that Tony would ever describe
01:00:53.860chris lysic has but yeah they put this they put this story out and then and then finally uh when
01:01:00.660when jerry more and chris lysic are are let out on on on on small uh weapons charges that are not
01:01:09.380related to the original indictment uh on i think the february 6 of 2024 uh you know they're they're
01:01:16.020they're let out without conditions and there's no there's no suggestion the day that chris lysic is
01:01:21.940released that he's a hitman a sniper and a and a gunfighter right yeah i know when that when that
01:01:30.660when the story starts falling apart and the lies and the inconsistencies sprout up uh the people
01:01:37.940who put those lies and inconsistencies and nonsense forward like they just scuttle off
01:01:42.500and disappear and pretend it didn't happen and they go on with their lives and they face no
01:01:48.100accountability uh for what they've done to these guys i've been very harsh in my criticism online
01:01:54.580um very harsh of a gentleman named bill graveland who's a reporter for the canadian press and who's
01:02:04.500probably responsible for 70 to 80 percent of the mainstream media recording or reporting
01:02:10.180on this because it just it goes on a wire and every little newspaper across the country just
01:02:15.300publishes bill's stuff and you know he kept going off about the pipe bomb stuff until the very very
01:02:23.460very end of the trial when it finally came out like he never he never conceded that you know
01:02:29.540maybe maybe 200 kilometers away maybe maybe the cops are padding the story a little bit here
01:02:35.300but not not until the day that one of tony's business associates testifies in court to say
01:02:41.940no man it's an industrial explosive like this is what we're using it for then he says it after
01:02:47.220spending two years telling the entire country tony olianik was going to throw pipe bombs at the cops
01:02:54.340like mr graveland if you're watching this um you know uh repent
01:03:04.580well somebody might be watching this in any event uh oh definitely some people are
01:03:11.940Yeah, well, when there are allegations made, as, you know, as we mentioned, as Gord's mentioned, nobody at the trial brought up Diagilon just, you know, all of a sudden is gone.
01:03:25.280But in the meantime, and gearing up for the Coutts II trial, there's this depiction of Radio Canada, described Chris Carbert and Chris Lysick as connected with Jeremy McKenzie, Jeremy McKenzie's, quote, American-style militia movement.
01:03:50.460You know, so so there's all of all of these scary things.
01:03:54.220And there's an awful lot of people in urban Canada that don't have never owned a owned a rifle, never, never hunted or so on.
01:04:03.040And all they know is stories about about people killing each other on the streets of Toronto or whatever.
01:04:10.620And so they easily get rattled and conclude the worst in a heartbeat.0.89
01:04:19.620And so all of these allegations can be made, even though it turns out that the vice president of Diagilon was a hand puppet named Philip, who was a goat.
