00:00:00.000 Hi, everyone.
00:00:21.160 We are live.
00:00:23.120 Yep, we are.
00:00:25.300 I apologize to everybody. 0.99
00:00:27.020 Tamara is out of the schedule tonight.
00:00:29.180 She has had the birth of her grandchildren, grandchild in Manitoba right now,
00:00:35.520 and she is busy looking after grandmother duties tonight, so she will not be here tonight.
00:00:39.340 So I figured Tom and I have enough to talk about.
00:00:40.980 We can probably fill the space, right?
00:00:43.240 Yeah, yeah.
00:00:44.400 I don't have a problem with finding a lot of words, unfortunately.
00:00:49.460 You would be both, my friend.
00:00:50.960 I don't know about your week, Tom, but my week was busy.
00:00:54.380 I just got home tonight after being on the road in Big Red for the last week and a half.
00:00:58.380 I left last Tuesday, I went to Grand Island, Nebraska, I grabbed a combine, I came home,
00:01:03.080 unhooked that trailer in the yard with the combine on it.
00:01:04.980 Of course, most of the time when you're hauling combines from the factory, they come with no tires and everything on them.
00:01:09.000 They're just a base unit, so you have to put everything on.
00:01:11.580 It was important to get out of the States before the Thanksgiving long weekends because of oversized restrictions.
00:01:16.980 So they redirected that combine.
00:01:19.300 It was supposed to go to Swiftgarn.
00:01:20.280 They redirected Saskatoon.
00:01:21.780 I got there last night.
00:01:22.820 I lost a day in one hell of a snowstorm in North Dakota.
00:01:26.340 shut me down for oversized travel.
00:01:28.860 So instead of sitting in the truck letting it idle all day long,
00:01:32.020 I just shut the truck off, got a hotel room,
00:01:34.000 and Zippy and I've bedged for the entire day Tuesday.
00:01:36.920 We rolled all day yesterday in some heavy fog.
00:01:38.980 We unloaded this morning, grabbed a sprayer from Saskatoon,
00:01:42.620 delivered in Swift Current this afternoon,
00:01:44.340 and then I unhooked that trailer, hooked back up to the trailer that had the combine on it.
00:01:47.660 We put the tires back on and unloaded that,
00:01:49.700 and I got home at just enough time today to say hi to everybody.
00:01:53.400 So how was everyone's week?
00:01:56.340 yeah well that's a pretty busy week and not to mention uh you had some proceedings uh some
00:02:03.820 some amazingness some some a really healthy dose of lawfare it seems that you had this week
00:02:10.440 did you just say bad faith i can't did you just no i said uh yeah exactly a healthy dose of it
00:02:18.140 a really healthy dose but no i i i'm hoping tonight we can talk a little bit uh about what's
00:02:24.800 happening to big red and a little bit uh you know brendan miller is representing you on uh saving
00:02:31.260 big red and uh you know i read through his submission because he he shared it it's public
00:02:37.560 knowledge and i confirmed i asked him we can talk about your specific case and what brendan miller's
00:02:43.660 doing to uh to try and save big red but wow like uh the absurdity so i was reading through his
00:02:51.400 submission to the court and uh you know i love brendan it's just a really really awesome guy
00:02:57.400 but yeah we should get into the the stuff happening with big red tonight too
00:03:01.820 well i want to say too in in canada our lawyers are trained to not question the government and
00:03:08.620 that is one of the things that they're taught and they're they're held to this strict code
00:03:12.200 but every now and then you find this lawyer that decides to go against the grain and brendan miller
00:03:16.500 for us is that guy. He does not follow those rules. He holds people to account. I have seen
00:03:23.600 him in the court with our judge and our crown dictate the law and the case law that he's
00:03:30.660 questioning. He holds the judge to account. He holds the crown to account. Most people
00:03:36.720 know we're trying to have this order against Big Red and the forfeiture thrown out. And
00:03:42.080 so this is what this whole argument is about here the last little while. Yesterday, I am
00:03:46.020 probably the only person in Canada, correct me if I'm wrong, but the only person in Canada that has
00:03:50.840 been live on these Zoom calls while driving down the highway hauling equipment in Big Red, and the
00:03:57.020 judge seems to be fairly okay with that. As long as my phone is on the dash and I have my hands-free
00:04:02.280 device set up, I am there just primarily to listen. And that was my whole day yesterday. I sat and I
00:04:10.140 listened. I listened to the Crowns. He didn't say anything. I listened to Brendan Miller give his
00:04:15.700 his statement final statement I listened to Diane Magus my other lawyer give her final submissions
00:04:23.840 and then when it came down to the crown's time to give his final submissions he said we're not ready
00:04:29.640 and we'd like to postpone this for a little while which then threw things into chaos even more yet
00:04:34.920 so anybody that's not following this and doesn't know the backstory behind this
00:04:38.960 in February 2022 I was arrested. I was charged with seven indictable offenses. My bank accounts
00:04:46.100 were frozen. We were then slapped with a multi-million dollar lawsuit at that time
00:04:51.680 via Paul Champ and his lead plaintiff, Zexy Lee. My credit rating was destroyed. I have not been
00:04:57.820 able to secure credit for my business. So at that time I had Jonathan who was working with me
00:05:04.360 driving one of my truck at that time off and on we needed to secure a loan to
00:05:10.000 get him a truck and I could not do that as a business owner so I did what I had
00:05:14.020 to do at the time which was and sell my truck Big Red to my parents and their
00:05:18.760 farm for some amount dollars were exchanges bank accounts were transferred
00:05:23.120 bill of sale was produced we didn't know at that time that the crown was going to
00:05:27.520 grasp at something like this you know three four years later three years later
00:05:33.360 And so now when it comes down to the forfeiture hearing on this,
00:05:36.700 there's two different aspects.
00:05:37.700 There's me as a business owner.
00:05:39.100 I use that truck, and in my sale agreement with it,
00:05:42.180 I'm allowed to keep using Big Rad.
00:05:43.700 It's licensed to my company, CB Trucking.
00:05:46.160 It is my livelihood, and I make a living off that.
00:05:48.240 But my parents own it.
00:05:50.340 So then we had to introduce Brenda Miller
00:05:52.080 to represent CB Trucking, my company that I co-own with my son, Jonathan,
00:05:56.940 and my parents' interest in this.
00:05:59.040 So we have Diane Magus, who's representing me
00:06:01.220 through the Justice Center for Constitutional Freedoms.
00:06:03.700 The GCCF has been behind us right from day one.
00:06:05.980 Amazing organization based out of Calgary, John Carpe.
00:06:09.560 And so that's now how the fight is.
00:06:11.820 And Brendan Miller has really brought the flame, I guess, to the courtroom.
00:06:15.060 And he has some amazing case law that he's representing or bringing to the table.
00:06:20.980 And it's quite interesting to sit and listen to Brendan cite this case law
00:06:25.800 and talk the facts on the case and how the Crown should be acting.
00:06:29.600 and he's gone so far as to say that the crown is acting in bad faith
00:06:33.020 and the crown got really offended with that
00:06:34.740 and I felt that for quite some time anyway
00:06:37.820 watching what we watched for the longest mischief trial in Canadian history.
00:06:42.140 It's been pretty hard to sit in that courtroom
00:06:43.600 and listen to some of the stuff that's been said about us.
00:06:46.960 You know what's funny is
00:06:49.380 I think last week it was either you or Tamara
00:06:53.560 that had mentioned that Paul Bernardo's trial was 40 days.
00:06:57.620 um and and you know i obviously i you know i'm from the niagara region i was in saint catherine's
00:07:05.460 uh during that time of the whole paul bernardo and his uh his wife um and i know people that
00:07:12.420 actually knew them because you know it's not the biggest area but i just find it uh incredible
00:07:18.120 that paul bernardo's trial for what he did was shorter than the trial that you guys got for
00:07:27.740 mischief yeah like i think that's incredible and then and then like you know obviously we know
00:07:34.260 brendan we we lived with brendan for uh seven and a half weeks during the the public order emergency
00:07:39.320 commission and uh you know i never like i never thought in my in my life that most of my friends
00:07:46.620 would all be lawyers um you know i i joke with keith all the time is that uh you know i was an
00:07:53.500 extra on the tv show suits once in like 2015 or 16 i was a guy that walked down the sidewalk in
00:08:01.660 the middle of the night and you know i watched the episode i wasn't even in the show but you know
00:08:07.500 that's my exposure to lawyers to be brutally honest and then next thing you know all my friends
00:08:13.180 most of my friends are lawyers um and i'll say this about the lawyers that a lot of lawyers in 0.96
00:08:21.140 this country get really really vilified uh they get really really vilified and i see the crap that
00:08:28.080 keith eva brandon a lot of the jccf lawyers go through and the funny thing is the irony is 0.58
00:08:36.200 they get sort of mistreated by the people who are on our side right and it's like listen you've only
00:08:44.640 got a handful of lawyers that are even interested in being on your side the rest of them are
00:08:49.200 ambulance chasers who just want the money and so you know the ones that are on your side be clear
00:08:56.080 about that because they've proven it time and time again like i you know when when uh eva and
00:09:01.980 all the other jccf lawyers and keith showed up to the convoy uh to me it was like oh thank god
00:09:09.120 thank god we've got legal here to help us and navigate this and to advise on this right
00:09:13.900 and um you know they they take a lot of abuse unfortunately but you know let's go back to the
00:09:20.620 poec for a minute i was there you were there chris uh we were all there when brendan got ejected
00:09:25.540 uh, for challenging Rouleau. And the, the thing is, I'll tell you about Brendan. The one thing
00:09:32.140 I know for a fact that is vitally important to Brendan Miller is being right. Yes. Having the
00:09:37.700 facts and making sure you can back it up. And, uh, you know, Rouleau pushed him to the point where
00:09:44.500 he, he called Rouleau out several times in the courtroom. And, uh, you know what? Finally,
00:09:51.400 were low he didn't have the facts on his side he had his emotions like a good little liberal that
00:09:56.440 he is and he kicked brendan out of the commission i mean brendan was back by the the late afternoon
00:10:02.360 but you know what um when it comes to brendan miller in in a lot of lawyers are tenacious but
00:10:08.840 brendan has a particular brand of uh courage and tenaciousness that uh is kind of rare with the in
00:10:15.880 in the legal profession i think he gets a he gets a bone he's going to chew on it and it doesn't
00:10:21.000 matter he's not intimidated he's not afraid of judges right and so i you know to his credit
00:10:27.820 night and i did read through his submission in your case very well laid out but you know in
00:10:34.040 typical brendan fashion which makes you like adore this guy so much there's actually a lot of humor
00:10:39.680 in it you know where he references the crown jewel to the london tower and his interstate yeah yeah
00:10:47.440 exactly exactly so you know i used to love during the commission when brendan would go up
00:10:53.600 and everybody would be like it's miller time you know and it was like yeah like this is going to
00:10:58.400 be good but man when he when he got uh i think he got christia freeland on the stand it was like he
00:11:06.080 knocked it out of the park with her you know but i will say you know this guy went through
00:11:12.720 through hell because of the dirty tricks that all the other uh lawyers were pulling and
00:11:19.200 in the way they set up that commission in the first place to really really disadvantage
00:11:24.000 everybody except for the government um but man like brennan miller left it all out on the field
00:11:31.280 he sacrificed his you know blood sweat and tears and his whole entire body to to be right and
00:11:39.360 And here's the irony. He was right on his opening submission on the first day, right there.
00:11:46.340 And then when he talked about the fact that the government did not abide by section two of the CSIS Act.
00:11:55.140 And he said, it's basically game over. Like on his opening submission, he said, you're going to hear all this crap. 0.98
00:12:01.660 And, but the fact remains, they did not meet any of the conditions in section two of the CSIS Act.
00:12:07.300 and therefore this should never even happen and of course justice mosley agreed with
00:12:12.220 with brendan as well um months later but yeah like you're lucky that you've got brendan in
00:12:18.320 your corner just specifically on that uh but unfortunately you know i you've got other other
00:12:25.740 lawyers they've worked really hard for you too but brendan is i think brendan's only allowed to
00:12:31.080 operate 100 days in Ontario as a lawyer because he's licensed in Alberta. He's only allowed 100
00:12:38.560 days in Ontario. Well, it's like I said in the beginning there, the lawyers are conditioned to
00:12:44.260 not fight the government in this country. And it's evident in that. And as much as I've seen
00:12:49.520 so many lawyers work really hard on our side, there's still that softball kind of mentality
00:12:55.820 where, you know, we don't want to disrupt or make anyone mad. We have to work with the crown and
00:13:00.200 work with the judges and i understand that but you know oh boy i could say so much more i'm just
00:13:05.760 gonna leave it at that for now maybe i'll save it for a book tom should i write a book i think you
00:13:10.860 should i think you should listen just so everyone knows i've written three of them it'd be great if
00:13:16.120 we didn't live in a tiktok world where nobody read books anymore i've got somebody to me a little
00:13:22.060 while i got my doomsday doomsday plans i need to start dealing with just kidding i'm kidding
00:13:27.940 somebody is one of my uh one of my the people that i work with and said i'm i really would
00:13:33.820 be interested in being the person that writes a book and talking to you for so that so and i
00:13:38.180 thought well you know tamara's done an amazing job you've done an amazing job at writing books
00:13:42.300 and telling the story and each of us have a different perspective on on what we would put
00:13:47.360 into our stories and our books so um i think mine would be a little bit different i would uh i would
00:13:52.380 probably give a little bit of background into some of the stuff that's going on you know with
00:13:56.360 with a lot of the stuff within the movement and a lot of the stuff that people don't know about
00:14:00.120 not necessarily expose a bunch of crap but just just to make sure and shed light on any questions
00:14:07.140 so we've got we've got everyone has an individual story to tell and we need to tell that
00:14:11.260 yeah you know what i think uh i think you should write the book chris i really do like
00:14:16.440 at the very least it's cathartic um and i had to learn the word cathartic from people telling me
00:14:22.680 it's the fancy way of saying it's therapeutic yes you know and that's really really what it
00:14:28.260 comes down to you know what therapy has been for me though i gotta tell you sitting in that truck
00:14:33.220 for the last week and a half trucking doing two trips to nebraska and back and every stop that i
00:14:39.660 stopped that whether you're in canada or the u.s i'm always approached by somebody that knows the
00:14:44.440 story of big red can't believe the big red sitting there right in front of them getting pictures
00:14:47.660 taken and uh and then listening to people tell their stories from from from the dark era um
00:14:53.340 throughout you know the word that we won't mention because we're on we're on youtube on this right
00:14:57.180 now so we have to be a little bit careful how we word our words now um i hear those stories still
00:15:02.060 to this day and i meet people that that it affected in such a positive way and brought them out of a
00:15:06.700 dark place and so just being in that truck and and representing i represent that truck and i
00:15:13.900 represent the movement that some of that truck stands behind so um that's a proud moment for me
00:15:19.440 i'll never nobody can ever take that from me well i mean i think they've all but admitted it the
00:15:24.580 only reason that they want to take big red from you is because it's symbolic and that's it like
00:15:29.640 this is the only justification you know and to be clear um you know and i've i've been seeing
00:15:36.440 sort of the chats and the conversations with uh with brendan miller and you know this is this is
00:15:43.040 so far outside of the ordinary for seizure of, or forfeiture of property.
00:15:48.560 Like this is like saying, you know, like, let's look at the facts a little
00:15:54.040 bit for a second here.
00:15:55.100 You sold the truck to a corporation.
00:15:58.880 Okay.
00:15:59.680 In June of 2022.
00:16:03.680 Okay.
00:16:03.860 So the convoy happened in the right after that, at the end of June, you sold
00:16:08.360 the truck, you sold it.
00:16:10.020 It was no longer your property.
00:16:11.420 It wasn't until May of 2025 that the crown gave any indication whatsoever that they wanted
00:16:19.500 to forfeit that truck.
00:16:21.180 So for, for three years, you didn't even own the truck.
00:16:24.540 No, you know, almost three years.
00:16:26.380 You didn't even own it.
00:16:27.460 Yeah.
00:16:28.100 So because it's so symbolic, you know, there's key chains of this thing and there's lots
00:16:33.480 of things, you know, it's so symbolic.
00:16:35.080 They want to take it and destroy it to crush the spirits of Canadians.
00:16:39.700 That's the only reason.
00:16:40.900 This is our government who wants to crush and destroy this vehicle because it is so impactful, so symbolic.
00:16:48.480 And that's the only reason.
00:16:50.620 The symbolic measure of that truck means more to me than just Freedom Convoy.
00:16:55.280 Yesterday was the 22nd anniversary of me owning Big Red.
00:17:01.080 It was the 22nd anniversary.
00:17:03.520 I picked that truck up from Custom Truck Sales in Regina, Saskatchewan in November 26th of 2023.
00:17:10.900 2003 sorry that was the biggest loan i'd ever secured in my life i had a loan with kenworth
00:17:16.980 for five years the payments were 2890 bucks a month or something like that and i had to under
00:17:23.060 you know any repairs that come along with that with making that payment every month so i worked
00:17:27.640 i trucked that we made some miles yeah and in that jonathan was seven months old he was the
00:17:33.660 first passenger in the passenger seat when i pulled that truck out of custom truck sales and
00:17:37.100 Regina back in the day. An amazing dealership, by the way. Most people know Bob Wurtz. You're
00:17:42.080 probably going to see this because Bob's a huge supporter and watches all this. Bob was the
00:17:45.560 ultimate salesman, but he did a really bad job in selling me that truck that day because I never
00:17:50.220 bought another one. I've bought a bunch of used trucks since, but I've never, that was my one
00:17:54.760 and done. Once I seen that truck and got to drive that truck, she was mine. I've raised a family in 0.97
00:18:01.200 that truck. Jonathan's little winter boot marks on the dash are still there to this day. Kenworth
00:18:07.040 has this plastic-ish interior it's a it's like a vinyl coating over top of the plastic dash
00:18:11.540 and he used to sit in the passenger seat with his little winter boots and kick up on the dash and
00:18:15.580 i'd give him trouble for it back in the day and but now that's a that's a part of the truck you
00:18:20.520 know my little dog that i had for the better part of 17 years i put to sleep in the passenger seat
00:18:25.340 of big red we loaded a green cart in iowa we uh we spent our last night in south dakota and he was
00:18:31.580 17 years old he was really tired his name was buddy and his bladder and his his bowels were
00:18:36.340 shutting down on them and i phoned the vet and we hit swift carnival at seven or eight o'clock that
00:18:41.400 night and i pulled right into the parking lot with big red and she jumped up in the passenger seat
00:18:45.920 and she stuck the needle in them right there and his collar still hangs from the from the visor on
00:18:51.520 the passenger side and he's been gone 14 14 years or 15 years now something like that i think zippy's
00:18:57.760 14 now and i waited about a year before i found zippy before i uh i wanted another dog and and
00:19:03.320 when Zip's time comes, there'll be two collars hanging up there because those two dogs just put
00:19:08.480 a lot of miles on with me and Big Red and yeah, therapy, right? Therapy for the last week and a
00:19:15.320 half sitting in the cab of that truck visiting. It's just been, I mean, I'm excited to get home.
00:19:19.460 I come home. My wife is here. My family's here. Jonathan's working in the shop tonight when I
00:19:22.940 pulled into the yard and there's supper cooking upstairs right now and I couldn't be happier to
00:19:27.640 be home. But when I'm out trucking in that girl, there's just like a peace and serenity that comes
00:19:31.360 over and you just you'll have every minute on yeah and you know it's important to talk about
00:19:38.380 this because you know during the convoy itself I remember when the government was talking about
00:19:44.420 going after parents who brought their children to the convoy because their children were in the
00:19:49.120 truck with them you know in in these are kids that had very much the same life experience that
00:19:54.620 your kids had growing up in the trucks you know this is this is what these families do and it
00:19:59.520 shows you how disconnected from reality uh you know these government organizations are
00:20:05.560 where you know they were threatening to uh remove the children from the parents the custody of the
00:20:14.480 parents because they felt that they shouldn't be at the convoy they shouldn't have been in the trucks
00:20:18.120 they should have been in school because hey the government knows more about parenting than you do
00:20:22.780 clearly but they were talking about euthanizing all of the uh the dogs all the pets that were in
00:20:28.520 trucks like these were the threats that we were constantly dealing with from uh you know the the
00:20:34.760 police and by law and all this crap like they they started targeting children and talking to us
00:20:43.160 actively about euthanizing the pets that were in the vehicles with truckers this is this is canada
00:20:49.000 right this is uh you know so your story about your kids growing up in that is a common story within
00:20:56.200 the industry and you know i do think you should write the book and talk about that and tell that
00:21:01.800 because you know like you're you're one family amongst thousands across this country that do it
00:21:08.920 and i just saw in the comments about the ostriches like there's there's no lengths there's no lengths
00:21:14.920 to terrorizing the public and demoralizing the public that this government various levels of
00:21:20.360 government go to um and i always say this is that we sure we can be disgusted with the federal
00:21:27.080 government and the provincial government but at the end of the day the people who always execute
00:21:33.000 the conditions that are set by the trudeaus of the world they're always executed at the 0.52
00:21:38.440 local level by the local police the local schools the local everything and you know the the un has 0.97
00:21:45.960 its hands reaching right down into the municipalities and in the evidence of that one example is what
00:21:52.680 maggie braun is doing with uh kickly fighting back against icly you know where she's educating 0.97
00:21:58.120 municipalities and saying do you even know where this policy came from that you and your taxpayers 1.00
00:22:03.560 have to pay for it actually came from an ngo and the un and you morons are paying for it and so she 0.99
00:22:11.160 educates municipalities and when a lot of them have woken up and went really we didn't even know 0.99
00:22:16.260 that we thought it was sanctioned by our government nope you know but this is what happens
00:22:21.400 people at the top make policies but they don't actually execute it it's the local people that
00:22:28.580 execute it against the public and that's where people this is why i always say you know localism
00:22:35.660 or you know local action has a national impact or a national consequence and that's from
00:22:43.260 i think bannon steve bannon uh talked about that that's not my original idea but it's true
00:22:49.100 you know to push back we have to push back at the local level not at the federal level so much
00:22:54.560 my my father is part of the rural municipality and dad will watch this video tomorrow morning i don't
00:23:00.120 know if they watch it tonight but they'll definitely watch it tomorrow when they're
00:23:02.300 having their coffee and uh dad and i've had many really in-depth conversations about this my father
00:23:06.580 is probably one of my best friends um and of course he parented me growing up and he was hard
00:23:11.800 on me because he needed to be hard on me to install those values and now you've reached a
00:23:16.840 certain level with your with your with your parents where you become you know you're growing
00:23:21.000 them and you're trying to mature them and then you become a friend and my father's probably speak to
00:23:25.360 him daily even when i'm out trucking he's part of the rural municipalities he's a counselor on the
00:23:30.060 on the on local rm and some of the stuff in our conversations we've had well the government
00:23:35.100 sanctioning us to do this we have to follow this rule and i'm like dad who do you follow do you
00:23:39.740 follow the constituents that put you in that seat or do you follow the government that controls you
00:23:44.300 you know it all comes down to that local level and and you know and it's as simple as that as
00:23:48.860 soon as you remind them of that then they realize that they're the ones that have the power and
00:23:51.900 they've been able to change a few things within that that structure which is exactly what has to
00:23:56.940 to be. And it happens on a local level. Get involved with your local school boards, your local
00:24:01.180 councils. There's so many different things that you need to get involved with. If you want this
00:24:05.700 country to change and change for the better, then you need to get involved. Because right now,
00:24:09.380 that is one of the most thankless jobs you will ever take is running for those elected seats.
00:24:15.220 But it's exactly why we are in the position we are in right now, because nobody wanted to step
00:24:20.620 up and take that. And those people that took those positions are people that don't deserve
00:24:23.880 those positions and that put us in this position right now yeah and and i totally agree and you
00:24:29.400 know what this is this is the reason so you know i finally got a job about 14 15 months ago um
00:24:36.600 because i i was radioactive right like i everybody knows i got fired from teaching
00:24:41.960 um and i went like 33 months without a job with no income i had my army pension which
00:24:47.160 you know like is is a lot less if i was uh a newcomer to canada i'd have a beamer and i'd
00:24:53.800 be living in a hotel getting a lot of money way more than my 25 year army pension right
00:24:59.080 but you know we so i finally got hired um 14 months i was really really looking hard for a
00:25:06.760 job i nobody would touch me and so i complained about it on x one day and uh my boss's wife
00:25:14.360 thought in her anonymous account and she told jonathan you hire this guy or you at least
00:25:18.840 interview this guy they they found a job for me which was amazing but i've been working on this
00:25:24.920 team for you know 15 months now and we are trying to build toto and you can see the url on the
00:25:30.840 bottom we're trying to build toto to do exactly what you just said chris is to have local action
00:25:37.480 and i agree you know what that's a great point you made with your dad because we have to stop
00:25:42.520 up acting like we're in a perpetual power of attorney relationship with our elected officials
00:25:48.360 just because we put an x by besides some unknown person's name doesn't mean we gave them power of
00:25:54.860 attorney but we unintentionally do it through our our actions we don't engage we don't go to
00:26:01.160 meetings we don't get involved and so the political class in this country they know that we've taken
00:26:08.120 our eye off the ball they know that we're not watching them so they just do what they want and
00:26:12.160 now they're so drunk on all their power that you go to a council meeting and if they don't like
00:26:19.040 what you're saying or they shut your mic off and have the police escort you out
00:26:22.740 it's like listen fine we're going to create something like toto right there's other things
00:26:28.780 out there there's tools that's just the one i picked and that's the one i've been working on
00:26:31.980 for almost 15 months to try to get local action to have a national consequence and that is the
00:26:39.300 whole point you've got to get involved locally you can't take your your foot off the gas now
00:26:44.680 this is the worst time to take your foot off the gas we have to be doing a full-on hardcore press
00:26:50.980 now and so you know i met your dad a couple of times you know between the two of you there's a
00:26:59.940 really really strong bond there um you know and that's the kind of stuff you know that i
00:27:07.280 want to have with my own kids it's not easy uh minor minor younger and different dynamic but
00:27:14.200 that's my view with my kids has always been look i'm not your friend okay get that through your
00:27:19.320 head right now i'm not your friend i'm here my job is to get you ready for life when you have
00:27:24.220 your own family then we'll be friends that's when we'll do it but you know i i'm hoping to get to
00:27:31.140 to that point because i've i've been with your dad and you and i know what it's like like i've
00:27:35.220 watch it i have something very similar with my father as well that's what i'm hoping to get to
00:27:40.700 with my kids too you knew well it'll come uh most people know like i i live on my great-grandfather's
00:27:47.820 homestead yard my great-grandfather you know we immigrated here from scotland we immigrated into
00:27:53.000 ontario my grandfather phineas um barber jumped on a train and and pedaled out to saskatchewan
00:28:02.080 where he homesteaded on a quarter of land, and I am proud that I live on that quarter.
00:28:06.880 To this day, he raised 12 or 13 children on this farm.
00:28:12.460 You know, he raised my grandfather, and my grandfather raised my father on this farm,
00:28:16.540 and then when the neighbors sold out, you know, back in the 70s, I think it was, I was a baby.
00:28:22.420 Mom and Dad bought the neighbor's farm and built a house on it in the early 80s or late 70s.
00:28:27.640 They'd have to correct me on that, and that was the yard that I was raised on,
00:28:30.780 But I was raised on that farm, which is only three quarters of a mile away from where I live right now.
00:28:35.720 And my grandfather and my grandmother lived on this yard.
00:28:38.860 And my grandfather passed away in 87.
00:28:42.060 And my grandmother stayed here until she couldn't any longer and was moved into town.
00:28:46.100 And then for years, this farm sat kind of, mom and dad rented it out and they did a few things here and there.
00:28:51.020 But when my time came to come here, I came here and the basement was falling down, the roof was shot.
00:28:57.960 and so I wanted to keep something of my grandfather's around so we built a new
00:29:02.460 basement we moved the house onto that and then did a whole pile of renovations
00:29:05.940 and this is where I raised my family and well and in my conditions with the court
00:29:11.460 right now you know we get a pile of snow the first thing I do is I'm allowed to
00:29:14.820 you know put the skid steer on the drive up the mom and dad's yard and clean
00:29:19.140 their out my parents are in their 70s right now and they are very mobile and
00:29:22.980 very active they're always doing something but when it comes to you know
00:29:27.360 dad pulls his old John Deere tractor out with a little bucket on it tries to clear his yard it's
00:29:31.140 it's it's a hard for him and there's no cab on it so I run up and that's part of my conditions now
00:29:36.060 I'm allowed to clean my parents yard out when it snows I'm allowed to assist them anything that they
00:29:40.420 need and I'm thankful for that yeah you know I so I I went a different road in life you know of
00:29:48.480 there's a few people in my family that did join the military but you know I joined the military
00:29:54.000 And as a result, you know, my, my experience with my family, like there's no homestead to go back to, you know, like there's, I was born and raised in Niagara Falls, between Niagara Falls and St. Catharines.
00:30:06.600 And, you know, in my, in my regular force career in the military, I think I did, even a little bit after, I did 12, 12 cities in 24 years.
00:30:20.300 you know and like full full moves to cities you know i've lived in toronto they're in the gta this
00:30:28.040 is my third time right now in the gta i've lived in kingston three times you know i've i've been
00:30:33.800 to niagara i had a posting back to niagara to the lincoln welland um you know as the regular
00:30:39.780 force officer i got posted back to my old reserve unit which was amazing for me you know but it's
00:30:46.160 really really really hard to set down roots when you choose a career that moves you every two years
00:30:51.040 on average right and so i've always sort of longed for that place to set down roots and you know i've
00:30:58.000 got i've got an amazing piece of land um in really you know i i won't give the the exact location
00:31:08.560 away but i am very very close to roblin ontario um and i saw one night i think the first or second
00:31:15.920 episode there was somebody from roblin that was watching the show and i was like it's amazing that
00:31:20.720 i know where that is because it's a it's it's a gas station it's a gas station but i love it right
00:31:26.880 and uh you know i was there last weekend with or two weekends ago with my dad and i'll be back this
00:31:32.800 weekend uh to the land with my dad working on a project there you know i i long to just put down
00:31:41.040 roots and never leave it and what i my plans for my land uh if i can keep it to be to be honest
00:31:48.080 without saying much family court family court um if i can keep the land that's going to be the
00:31:55.760 future for my kids i'd like for my kids to be able to put down roots there and to do something
00:32:01.520 uh because look at look at the state of this country right now kids kids are looking at you
00:32:07.120 you know, it used to take 25 years to pay off the mortgage.
00:32:10.340 It takes 25 years now to get the down payment.
00:32:13.300 Yeah, right.
00:32:14.020 And so I'm trying to build something like what you're talking about for the
00:32:18.320 future of my kids.
00:32:21.120 It's not easy.
00:32:22.060 It's just not easy.
00:32:22.960 And I, hopefully this $290 million lawsuit against us just goes away as well.
00:32:29.140 Wouldn't that be something we should talk about that a little bit tonight.
00:32:31.360 There is still $290 million lawsuit against, you know, Tamara, myself,
00:32:37.000 Pat, uh, James, George, uh, how many names, you know, um, and that has all been instilled
00:32:47.160 in the court session right now from downtown Ottawa lawyer, Paul Champ and his lead plaintiff,
00:32:52.200 Zexy Lee, who was fairly angry towards some of the protesters in Ottawa. Um, amazing. Um,
00:32:58.820 he justified against us in our criminal trial. Um, that is still hanging over our heads right
00:33:03.740 now for a lot of us. So it's pretty hard to go get a line of credit or a loan security for anything
00:33:09.280 when you have that kind of hanging over your head. We both have been through that the last
00:33:13.500 number of years. Do you know the latest on that one, Tom? I've been trying to follow it here. I
00:33:18.080 think we go for certification, something like that in January, isn't it? Yeah, that's the next
00:33:24.160 stage but basically we tried a uh in this last spring we we tried a something in court through
00:33:33.260 our awesome lawyer great guy and uh jccf is you know representing us on that i think democracy
00:33:40.120 fund is also uh i don't know if democracy fund not on that one not on that one uh jccf is on that
00:33:47.440 one but uh you know we we shockingly failed because we were using the anti-slap uh tactic
00:33:55.000 strategy let's say and um you know unfortunately that didn't go the way we wanted we appealed
00:34:01.560 and uh unfortunately we lost the appeal and i remember you know understanding that the judges
00:34:09.000 on the appeal were very hostile towards the convoy right and and there's been many times
00:34:13.700 several attempts to move the trials out of the city of ottawa but it's like not a chance right
00:34:19.700 they won't allow that because of course they don't want impartiality of any kind right who'd want
00:34:24.220 that but my understanding oh and i wanted to say like we this is really important because this is
00:34:32.340 i'm i'm very proud of canadians for helping us because i do have those days you know when i
00:34:39.980 look at the crew the elbows up crew that re-elected the liberals i just shake my head right
00:34:45.520 when i think we've got we're gaining some ground and then they re-elected the most hated government
00:34:50.300 in probably all of canadian history but then you know a large percentage of the or not percentage
00:34:56.980 but a large number of people we got nailed with a twenty thousand dollar uh legal bill for for the
00:35:05.560 appeal which really shouldn't have even made it this far to begin with because this whole lawsuit
00:35:10.200 is the guy is literally trying to invent new law through this class action lawsuit but the public
00:35:16.660 really helped us in in nine hours 15 minutes answered the call and donated you know their
00:35:22.920 money their time their effort their energy their love and their support and helped us out of this
00:35:28.400 mind um and that is that is those are the moments where i think okay this is amazing this is this
00:35:36.820 is the convoy people this is the canada that i that i love right and um oh that's awesome my uh
00:35:44.920 my cousin and uh andrea are watching from uh from vancouver island that's awesome i just i'll add
00:35:54.120 this too guys just put in the comment section where you're from i love seeing that wherever
00:35:58.700 you're coming in um anybody in ontario right now brace bridge brace bridge ontario is where my
00:36:04.400 family immigrated to from scotland so in bridge ontario just outside of barry is where you will
00:36:09.640 find barber family headstones in from my great great grandparents are buried there somewhere
00:36:16.200 and i've seen pictures of it i've never been there i've drove kind of relatively close but
00:36:19.700 i just thought i'd add that in sorry but those back to the conversation yeah and and so you know
00:36:26.040 the public responded they paid the bill for us and i think everybody recognized that listen
00:36:31.240 if this certification goes through if paul champ's class action lawsuit gets certified
00:36:36.880 as a class action he's going to expand his lawsuit to start including significant what he has termed
00:36:45.020 as significant donors so we're all on the hook we are still all on the hook not just the 20 of us
00:36:51.480 that are named right now because if you actually look at the submission to the court it's got a
00:36:55.740 whole bunch of jane and john does yes they're just waiting for certification then we're all
00:37:00.300 going to be on the hook um so the the sooner this thing gets killed the better but it looks like
00:37:06.420 every time he gets a few steps forward he gloats all over social media oh um and and what really
00:37:13.720 drives me nuts. It's when Paul Champ gloats about freedom of expression when you're talking
00:37:18.880 about Palestinians. Anyway, drives me bonkers. A little bit of a double standard there. As 0.93
00:37:25.660 most people know, probably, well, I don't know if most people know, but we'll just tell
00:37:29.360 you, there's approximately $5.5 million sitting in the escrow account right now. And most
00:37:33.920 people know that the GiveSend Go was set up, GoFundMe was set up first. And that was, that
00:37:39.760 reached, what, around $10 million, and it was just huge dollars. And they released $1 million
00:37:46.840 into a bank account, and that bank account was immediately seized. We were able to get a couple
00:37:52.440 fuel payments out of it before they seized it. Toronto Dominion Bank froze that under a government
00:37:57.820 order and didn't have any accountability behind it. And then GoFundMe wanted to then donate the
00:38:06.040 rest of that money that nine million dollars to the charity of their choice and because of social
00:38:11.080 media power out there and what we were doing during the convoy we were very vocal about that
00:38:15.480 you need to get all the of gofundme and make sure they know that this is not where what they should
00:38:20.080 be doing gofundme was then forced to then give that money back to the donors and but that one
00:38:27.420 million dollars remained in that bank account and it was frozen and it stayed frozen our bank
00:38:32.460 accounts were frozen because of it. We had to relinquish that money to the courts and the escrow
00:38:37.000 to open our bank accounts up. Other Convoy members, other Convoy members had their bank
00:38:41.720 accounts frozen as well. And they had that option at that time too. You can relinquish the money
00:38:46.180 that was in your bank account that was donated as a result of Freedom Convoy and your bank
00:38:49.840 accounts will be unfrozen. Some of us chose to do that. Some of us did not. That is our choice as a
00:38:55.620 human being to do that. You can either comply or you can't. In our choice, we decided to give,
00:39:01.500 and Go was then orchestrated after that. And that soared to what? It was over 10 million
00:39:07.380 dollars, but it was American, wasn't it, Tom?
00:39:11.880 That I don't know. I never heard that detail. What I know is that the money was collected
00:39:16.720 in the United States, and the moment it got transferred into Canada is when Doug Ford's
00:39:22.020 Attorney General had it seized. The moment it came into the Canadian bank, though, was
00:39:26.500 the point of seizure.
00:39:27.380 We'll go back on that a little bit. Jacob Wells, the owner of GiveSendGo, was aware that the government in Canada was trying to get their hands on that. And so what Jacob did was he hit the refund button on it before the government of Canada could get their hands on it.
00:39:41.840 And because of that fact that Jacob Wells, he's an amazing man, a good Christian organization, GiveSendGo. Every time I hear the word GoFundMe and somebody sends me a link to donate, I always say, you did it in the wrong account. You need to redo that in a GiveSendGo, please, and then I will happily donate.
00:39:56.260 I will not give money to GoFundMe after what I witnessed in Freedom Convoy and how government-orientated that organization is.
00:40:04.720 So Jacob Wells hit the refund button on that money.
00:40:08.160 And the result of that was Paul Champ adding Jacob Wells and Gibson Go to the lawsuit, suing him for $300 million as well.
00:40:16.000 So what we didn't know at the time was the Canadian processing company, Stripe,
00:40:21.020 which was the processing company that would take your money out of your bank account and hold it
00:40:25.100 and then put it in ours at that time, had $3.5 million sitting in it. And at the time of the
00:40:30.880 freezer happened, the freezing happened. And so when you add up the million dollars that was in
00:40:35.640 the bank account, there was some money in e-transfers and there was also the give the
00:40:39.820 Stripe account totaled around $5.5 million. And that money is still sitting in an escrow account
00:40:45.220 right now in the Ontario court system frozen until what one of our lawyers
00:40:50.500 likes to call it four different levels of freezing and it will be a long I had
00:40:57.940 this conversation a little while ago what happens if that money is ever
00:41:01.720 released and I said that Tamara I don't want it I don't want to be accountable
00:41:07.160 right now there's an organization you know a not-for-profit was formed called
00:41:11.980 the Freedom Convoy Human Rights, and I don't know, it's a long name,
00:41:16.820 and that would be the organization that would house that money,
00:41:19.920 and we are all board members of that.
00:41:24.420 I think I'm the vice president, Tamir is the president,
00:41:26.720 and as board members of that not-for-profit, we are not allowed to touch that money.
00:41:30.360 That is not our money to touch.
00:41:31.780 That is the Canadian donors that donated that money,
00:41:34.680 and it's our job to delegate where that money goes,
00:41:36.920 and I honestly, personally, don't want to be responsible for any of it.
00:41:40.720 I want nothing to do with it.
00:41:42.140 But in the event of somebody getting that we don't want to,
00:41:45.240 I will fight to keep that out of those hands.
00:41:47.480 So I still think we're back to veterans groups, don't you?
00:41:52.020 You know, I kind of feel like I would like to see the money go back to the
00:41:56.640 donors themselves and the amount they donated and then let them make a
00:42:00.040 decision because, you know what, times are really tough now for everybody.
00:42:05.240 And if you get a, you know, a reimbursement,
00:42:08.720 then I think you're entitled to it.
00:42:11.200 And if you want to re-donate it to someone else, then by all means, please,
00:42:14.340 you know, go ahead and do it.
00:42:15.980 But I think the best thing is give it back to the donors, you know,
00:42:21.100 finding out who those donors were and those numbers would be, you know,
00:42:24.640 anyone that had their return from donating to convoy would, would, uh,
00:42:28.720 you weren't part of that seizure fact.
00:42:30.540 So that one money went back to you, but finding out people were that it went to,
00:42:34.560 you know, it's, it's, uh, there's a couple of different ideas.
00:42:37.560 one was the veterans groups but you have to pick a veteran group that did that we
00:42:41.580 can get behind and some of those are government affiliated and we have to be
00:42:44.580 really really careful with that so obviously there's been lots of talk
00:42:50.820 about where it goes clean drinking water for some indigenous reserves there's so
00:42:55.480 many different options out there I don't know if we'll ever see the day when that
00:42:58.920 money's released to actually have the decision on where that goes oh I don't
00:43:02.680 any of it i've been working for a living for the last number of years yeah i yeah this is this is
00:43:09.640 the hard part right like i i've never been comfortable like i my first job i was a i had
00:43:16.280 a dishwasher i was a dishwasher at 13 you know i had a paper route at nine you know i've always
00:43:22.040 earned my own money until you know those that time between getting fired and finally getting hired to
00:43:29.960 to help build Toto. Um, I, I've never felt like that since I was a young child, uh, to be that
00:43:37.340 dependent for, for other people on money. Um, it, it doesn't feel good. It certainly doesn't
00:43:43.200 make you feel like you're a, uh, a fair contributor or provider to your family. You know, like I'm,
00:43:49.500 I was lucky that I had a pension coming in and most of my pension actually went to my kids.
00:43:55.360 so like it's it's difficult but you know i i'm not i don't naturally gravitate towards
00:44:04.340 taking if if i'm going to get something for money i want to be able to give something back in return
00:44:12.000 right like i i write a lot that's how i contribute to canadian society i work on toto that's how i
00:44:19.660 try to contribute i ran in the election that's try how i try to do it i don't take stuff
00:44:24.760 for free um but we're going to be getting into a situation i think if this economy keeps
00:44:32.520 getting worse um you know i i don't i don't know what to do with that money i really don't
00:44:41.140 um it's they said the upwards of you know years down the road before we even figure this out and
00:44:48.700 then you know we'll just keep you know what i did with my facebook a little while ago there was a
00:44:54.600 notification that came up on my Facebook and said
00:44:56.640 Chris would you like to monetize this so I
00:44:58.580 hit monetize and I thought I went through the
00:45:00.580 steps and the procedures and all that and I got
00:45:02.540 a little bit of money out of Facebook for all the people
00:45:04.520 supporting me on here so I'm really gratefully
00:45:06.400 appreciative of that but I was thinking
00:45:08.560 today as I was driving down the highway when I seen this
00:45:10.480 notification I thought you know what
00:45:12.720 I'm going to phone my local
00:45:14.360 SPCA in my hometown and
00:45:16.520 find out exactly what they're lacking right
00:45:18.620 now and I will go
00:45:20.200 where I have to go and get some what they
00:45:22.560 need and go drop it off as most people
00:45:24.500 know i'm a huge advocate for for the spca i have two shelter dogs right now outside zippy's not a
00:45:30.720 shelter dog i don't know why he should be he needs a lot of help but yeah yeah like i for me another
00:45:39.260 cause there's so many people still under lawfare uh just from from not even just the convoy but
00:45:45.860 also from pre-convoy you know when all these ridiculous tickets were given out for not masking
00:45:51.040 and all the other crap you know the jccf i don't know how many hundreds probably thousands of
00:45:57.920 clients they've had uh since all this plandemic started it's incredible to me um you know all of
00:46:07.160 the people that the jccf have helped um so for me maybe that's a that's an option like lawfare
00:46:13.200 is real i mean nobody knows that more than you uh tamara and many of the others i mean look at
00:46:18.200 job of easy you know the the the number of lawyers he's gone through uh in the past you know like
00:46:24.480 people can't afford the lawfare and and this is why you know the saying is the the process is the
00:46:30.380 punishment yeah like they're just being spiteful they know for a fact even on the case of big red 0.56
00:46:35.800 they know for a fact they don't have a chance in hell but you gotta pay for that you know the jccf
00:46:41.660 has to get donations i've been to your fundraiser we went out to saskatchewan last year 650 people
00:46:48.180 people showed up to help you and you and pay some other legal bills for other people.
00:46:55.320 So I don't know what to do with the money and I agree with you, I don't want to be the
00:46:58.820 one controlling it either.
00:47:00.640 I don't know how to do that fairly, but maybe some legal stuff.
00:47:08.060 Yeah, there's been a few different organizations helping us out through this.
00:47:12.880 The Justice Center for Constitutional Freedoms has probably been, it's been the one that's
00:47:15.980 looked after me it's looked after the one for the lawsuits the democracy fund is the other one they
00:47:20.740 have helped out tamara and and so many others i mean you can't they helped out with a lot of the 0.99
00:47:25.540 coots boys the democracy fund was a lot behind that just centers fighting daily in different 0.94
00:47:30.580 cases all across this country right now it's amazing to go to uh the gccf website i think
00:47:36.220 it's gccf.ca or the democracy fund.ca and go check out the different people that they're helping out
00:47:41.520 right now fight this lawfare across this country there's so much going on right now i think uh
00:47:45.960 Out of, what, 187 people arrested in Freedom Convoy,
00:47:49.520 JCC helped a majority of people through that,
00:47:52.440 and so did the Democracy Fund.
00:47:53.920 So James Dauder right now,
00:47:55.600 who is obviously seeking political asylum in the U.S. for lawfare,
00:47:59.380 the Canadian government's coming after him the same way
00:48:01.380 that they came after Tamara, myself, Pat, others.
00:48:05.420 James decided to go a different route on that.
00:48:07.500 Democracy Fund is helping him right now with that legal plight.
00:48:11.040 I talked to James for about two hours this week
00:48:13.480 and had a good conversation with him.
00:48:15.360 The amount of stuff that poor guy is facing right now, you know, if the asylum doesn't go through, he faces a lot of time in jail.
00:48:23.960 And judging by what we have just been through the court system, he didn't have that help at that time.
00:48:29.820 So he would definitely have been buried in lawfare, and he took the best option out as far as I can see.
00:48:35.840 I support James 100% in what he's doing right now.
00:48:38.060 So many people in this movement have been so easy to quick and turn on people
00:48:43.220 and try and condemn them for getting so much more attention than the next person.
00:48:46.960 You've got to remember that we were all standing in this one at one time,
00:48:50.240 and if you choose to go negative on this and try and attack other people
00:48:53.200 because of the way they stand, you are not helping the situation.
00:48:57.080 So I go back to this too, right, and I think you do, Tom.
00:49:00.680 If the more people talk in this movement and the more divisive and angry
00:49:06.600 and bitter they get at certain people um that is the exact reasons why some of us distances
00:49:11.740 ourselves from other people yeah and and that's a that's a fair point because you know what i've
00:49:17.000 left every single group that i belong to except for one um and that's a chat group that i'm in
00:49:22.680 with you and the lawyers and we had to keep it just for the legal stuff but i've left all the
00:49:27.260 groups that i was in because i just couldn't tolerate the infighting yes and you know what
00:49:31.820 what kind of does frustrate me honestly because there's been a lot of crappy stuff said about all
00:49:39.740 of us um but the moment what i find particularly frustrating the moment i get in there and actually 0.86
00:49:46.540 even defend myself i get attacked for being divisive so it's like okay you know what damned
00:49:54.060 if you do damned if you don't don't engage don't get involved in the in the stuff you know like 0.99
00:49:58.460 Like Joanna always says, you know, you wrestle with the pigs, you're going to get shit on 1.00
00:50:03.360 you. 1.00
00:50:03.800 So don't bother, right?
00:50:05.680 Don't bother.
00:50:06.540 Focus on the positive, focus on, you know, the things that elevates everybody.
00:50:10.740 That's what I try to do, but I'm infallible.
00:50:13.400 I'm a human.
00:50:14.260 Every once in a while, somebody hits the magic button, the easy button.
00:50:18.340 And, you know, I got to punch back a little bit.
00:50:22.260 There's, you know, I got to draw that line between I'm not going to just be a punching
00:50:26.720 bag and have you you know be engaging in defamation and i have to have some respect for
00:50:35.280 myself and actually stand up for myself now do i have to do that on social media not really because
00:50:40.400 social media it's it's not i i'm not here on social media because of tom's ego i'm here to
00:50:47.440 to spread the you know truth and to learn and to find out what's going on and to be active and
00:50:53.320 somehow in the best way I can to be positively impacting things. Like I always talk about these
00:51:00.260 three circles. So if I, if I speak somewhere, I always talk about the three circles. You've got
00:51:04.820 the circle of interest. Okay. Circle of control in the circle of influence. So control, influence,
00:51:16.260 interest. Interest is the one that everybody spends 80% of their time and energy on, which is
00:51:22.240 all this stuff that you can do nothing about okay and i always joke i i joke all the time about the
00:51:27.940 lizard people uh in in antarctica and wherever on airplanes so that's the reality is don't spend
00:51:35.860 your time on the on the circle of interest like monitor it hey it's out there but you know what
00:51:41.900 justin trudeau never never answers my tweets or mark carney or paulie ever or bernie none of these
00:51:48.740 people ever respond to my stuff. So why am I giving that 80% of my energy? But I can have my
00:51:55.160 circle of influence to try to get control. And if I can influence it and control it, then I can
00:52:02.780 participate in it. Other than that, I don't really need to care about the other stuff that, like I
00:52:09.240 said, Mark Carney doesn't listen to me. Mark Carney never goes on social media and shit posts 0.99
00:52:14.740 about me you know mark carney has never held a new year's eve twitter space just to spend an hour 0.98
00:52:22.340 in the the first hour of a new year bashing tom marazzo you know mark carney never purchased uh
00:52:30.660 you know tom marazzo.com and rerouted uh some pretty crappy things about me to tom marazzo.com
00:52:39.460 mark carney never did that one of our own people did that yeah right well i don't want to engage
00:52:43.940 and that stuff i i've got i've got my kids to think about and i got my friends my family 0.94
00:52:48.440 you know i've got joanna to think about i'm not like she says you you you wrestle with the pigs 0.98
00:52:55.080 you get shit on you and i think most people know in my social media i i love being that internet 0.99
00:53:00.300 troll i i was talking to a guy today in saskatoon you know uh jason he he came up to me just a huge 0.99
00:53:07.260 supporter but he said i remember the days when you used to post stuff on on social media just
00:53:11.340 to get a rise into people and I said well I kind of still do that I just I've learned better
00:53:15.300 behaviors on how to do it now but there's nobody out there that likes to get down in the mud and 0.66
00:53:19.540 wrestle with the pigs like Chris Barber on social media I do that but the one thing you have to
00:53:24.100 remember is there's people out there that you're never going to alter their their mindset so and 0.97
00:53:28.440 a lot of them are our internet bot trolls so you can you can have fun with them and you can make
00:53:32.920 I do this with my mother's okay with this she's giving me permission to make the mom jokes every
00:53:37.600 You know, and then I find them humorous.
00:53:39.640 Somebody can tell me they wish death upon me and I will say, well, that's not what your mom said.
00:53:44.900 That is my mentality on social media.
00:53:46.880 But I also know who I can fight with and who I can't and who those people are just grasping for attention.
00:53:53.880 So you acknowledge them in some sense and then that gives them validity to keep going, right? 0.68
00:54:00.040 When you ignore those people, you kill those people so much more.
00:54:04.900 And I know the difference between fighting with Joe Bott on Facebook or TikTok compared to fighting with somebody that's just looking for attention or clout chasing.
00:54:14.220 And I've found so much of that the last while.
00:54:16.160 I think if this guy calls me four more times, if I haven't answered the first fifth call, then I'm not going to answer.
00:54:24.020 He knows you're on a live podcast.
00:54:27.220 I'm hauling his load tomorrow.
00:54:28.600 I know exactly what he's calling about to see if I'm still on schedule to haul his load tomorrow.
00:54:31.880 i am i'm at alberta with my step deck trailer to pick up a load
00:54:35.540 yeah i might have to tarp it though it's a lot of lumber and i usually don't haul lumber i said
00:54:41.400 i don't usually yeah equipment do you know what though there's a you know going back to
00:54:48.800 trolling and stuff like that so i have another rule of mine which is if you don't post your face
00:54:55.040 your picture thank you she's awesome i just got a refill it's bubbly now booze but if if i don't
00:55:03.100 get a if listen if if you're not putting your picture in your real name on there if you're not
00:55:10.060 going to risk your reputation trolling me then why should i give you even a second thought why
00:55:18.560 should i give you any of my time or energy i don't care what you have to say if you're not going to
00:55:22.220 put it all on the line like i am because my response is public it's known to me it's tied
00:55:27.320 to my reputation um it's it's tied to my character so if you're not going to give me the same level
00:55:34.080 of uh risk why should i bother engaging with you so i i don't engage with people that i mean i do
00:55:40.820 once in a while somebody will hit the easy button but but you know if you're not going to do it then
00:55:45.820 why should i if you've got nothing to lose why should i play your game you know i'm just not
00:55:51.340 going to do it sometimes it's relief just just getting just having that battle out on social
00:55:56.180 media in the comment section but like i said you need to know who you're fighting with and those
00:55:59.640 people that are just you know i get some people on especially tiktok the last while they've been
00:56:04.380 posting some pretty horrible stuff and and lies and slander defamation and if i acknowledge that
00:56:10.580 or if i try to come up with an excuse or try and tell my side of the story to those ridiculous lies 0.75
00:56:15.540 then i'm i'm actually feeding into that and as soon as you start defending yourself you're losing
00:56:21.000 and that is one of the most important things you need to know most of these people on on social
00:56:25.980 media with dogs and cats and birds as their profile pictures that's number one that they're
00:56:30.620 a bot and those are the ones that i like to fight with because i know that there's just some nonsense
00:56:34.960 behind it and it's not a real person i'm not giving them any clout or validity when you have
00:56:39.380 one follower um i'm just having fun with you yeah well and even if i sorry i don't know what
00:56:47.400 happen there but even if i do respond i'm not responding back to the person i'm responding
00:56:52.840 back to everybody else watching the conversation yes i'm gonna have a little bit of fun every once
00:56:57.480 in a while too and i mean i listen my natural inclination is not to walk away it's to fully
00:57:04.680 engage but i have to force myself to walk away and say it's not worth my energy like i want to
00:57:11.160 I want to get in there. I'm not going to lie. I want to punch back, but what can I do? I have
00:57:17.560 to just rise above it all somehow bite my tongue, you know, my, my, my, my tongue, right. And yeah,
00:57:24.740 hold my nose. I got to hold my nose. Sometimes you can post something and Twitter is usually
00:57:29.280 probably the most, the most vicious cesspool I've ever seen in my life for trolling. I could
00:57:33.300 literally put a picture of a sunflower on there and people would wish me death. Um, but that,
00:57:38.340 that you know i i take it as a grain of salt and i don't take it to heart i know that it's just
00:57:42.400 some coward hiding behind a keyboard and uh you know i can't tell you how many people over the
00:57:46.960 years of trolling online and fighting with people online especially in the trucking industry somebody 0.97
00:57:50.780 thinks you know what if i ever run into you i'm gonna i'm gonna teach you a lesson in person well
00:57:54.740 where are you gonna be i'll be there too and uh 99 of the time they always back down before you
00:58:01.060 get there because i'm six foot four tall and 260 pounds i'm a pretty big guy i can hold my own but
00:58:08.140 right now I have to keep the peace and I'm not allowed to do that so yeah it's hard it's hard
00:58:15.760 but you know what I I gotta say Chris you're pretty funny some of the some of the comebacks
00:58:22.520 it's like I call them like yeah it's like it's just like funny Facebook needs that same thing
00:58:30.380 like TikTok has where you can reply to a comment with a video yeah I love those and uh yeah I find
00:58:37.420 my fun I've seen some of them and I'm just thinking like buddy just stop you're out of
00:58:43.520 your league you're you're in a lightweight class you're you're in the ring with a heavyweight
00:58:47.980 like just stop how far I will go exactly we're we're missing a very huge part of the program
00:58:55.760 tonight and that is Tamara and her daughter Sierra just gave birth I'm trying to find out
00:59:00.100 exactly where I was here where was the comment section what did they name the little one
00:59:05.120 she arrived at
00:59:08.660 9.59 last night
00:59:10.880 and she is Manitoba
00:59:13.060 and she's very healthy
00:59:15.100 I don't see a name here
00:59:16.960 in the comments when she texts me back
00:59:18.740 so she's a gorgeous little girl
00:59:20.960 so congratulations to Sierra
00:59:22.820 Tamara's daughter and
00:59:24.920 Tamara's probably watching right now 0.99
00:59:26.660 she's looking after other grandchildren 0.75
00:59:28.600 so congratulations on the
00:59:31.020 new arrival
00:59:32.140 yep
00:59:33.820 that is that is pretty awesome we've seen the pictures i i wouldn't share them because it's
00:59:38.960 family stuff but we've seen seen the baby pictures in the chat group yeah it's exciting i think it's
00:59:44.940 her sixth grandchild is it six yeah six and third third granddaughter i see it here six pounds 10
00:59:51.820 ounces 20.5 inches tall um i don't see a name in there so she is uh she's doing really well though
01:00:00.200 and mama's doing really well, so that is awesome news.
01:00:03.080 And the judge gave permission to give the probation officer permission
01:00:07.220 to let Tamara leave Medicine Hat, go to Manitoba to assist 0.97
01:00:10.520 with her daughter having this child and look after the other children.
01:00:14.460 So, yeah, we're missing a vital part tonight,
01:00:17.580 but she'll be back next week, hopefully, you know, ready to fly.
01:00:20.320 And she'll get more updates at that time too. 0.67
01:00:25.100 Yeah, she was posting how tired she is
01:00:28.740 and she forgot how exhausting it is to look after little ones.
01:00:33.000 Well, I'm sure I'm getting close to that.
01:00:34.720 I hope.
01:00:34.980 My daughter's down in Maryland right now.
01:00:37.640 She's got a boyfriend down there.
01:00:39.200 Most people know she took off a year and a half ago, I guess,
01:00:44.400 and she moved down to Maryland out of a whim,
01:00:46.120 and she just wanted to try something different,
01:00:47.720 so she became an au pair,
01:00:49.420 and she was 20 miles north of Washington, D.C.,
01:00:52.000 and she met a pretty cool guy down there.
01:00:54.640 He's a firefighter, and, you know,
01:00:57.300 he kind of swooshed her off her feet.
01:00:59.600 She came home here for a little while and was hanging around home,
01:01:03.600 and she missed him too much, and she disappeared back to Maryland again.
01:01:06.420 So she'll be home here fairly soon.
01:01:08.260 I think she flies home on the 6th of December, so next week she'll be home.
01:01:11.900 And Jonathan and his girlfriend Cooper are doing really well.
01:01:15.320 I don't know when that will, you know, maybe wind up with a ring on a finger,
01:01:19.980 and maybe I can look forward to some grandchildren.
01:01:21.720 I think that's my quickest expectation for grandchildren going forward.
01:01:25.200 But I've encouraged them both to wait.
01:01:26.780 they're only they're still pretty young yeah yeah my um my cousin i'm pretty close with he lives in
01:01:33.020 niagara falls he uh he's a grandfather already he's four years younger than me um and i gotta
01:01:40.060 say i feel pretty good teasing him about it um i'm i'm a long way off from being a grandfather
01:01:45.660 thankfully so my daughter's only young too young so i'm very lucky but you know what um you know
01:01:54.780 something you you had said earlier about being in the states and people coming up and talking to you
01:02:00.700 um i gotta say i'm i'm very appreciative of the fact that like i'm not
01:02:08.940 i've never once been anywhere in public where somebody came up and knew who i was
01:02:13.180 and to me that's pretty amazing never once actually other than once i was with you actually
01:02:18.940 still doing the convoy walking down the street with mick jagger anyway it was um but no i i think
01:02:25.900 it's it's a great thing right like you know people don't put the face to the name they hear the name
01:02:31.420 but they don't put the face and when i'm out in public what i'm always worried about is some 0.93
01:02:36.380 moron who's going to decide that now he's courageous enough to come and try to accost me in front of 0.99
01:02:41.980 of my children um you know and it'd be a big mistake it absolutely be a big mistake but you 0.98
01:02:50.300 know i'm i'm thankful for that that i don't have that kind of uh recognition like i can go anywhere
01:02:57.900 and it's funny because i could be on a podcast i can you know go on i'm on twitter all the time
01:03:03.200 but the two things never connect and i'm very grateful for that because um i like i said i'm
01:03:10.660 always worried that I'm going to be out with my kids in in the one who doesn't like me is going
01:03:15.020 to be the most courageous that is the hard part and I thankfully I only see the hate on social
01:03:21.460 media in the comment section from the from the you know the cowards hiding behind the keyboard
01:03:25.620 I've never seen that in public I've gotten a couple fingers driving on the highway here and
01:03:30.000 there and those people too are not the people that will come up to my face they're catching
01:03:34.900 as you're driving by um but i do see the support and what amazes me every day you know driving
01:03:42.480 last night was kind of different i was in the fog from you know basically south of the u.s border
01:03:48.040 to saskatoon last night heavy fog the entire time so nobody knew where i was or even seen me
01:03:52.740 but today in the daylight um i would say about probably one out of every four vehicles is horns
01:03:59.320 lights flashing waving um and that's every day so that that's a huge amount of support out here
01:04:05.920 and i pay attention to that i try and get my hands up to wave back um as quick as i can um
01:04:10.800 it's always awesome yeah that's it good yeah that's really cool and you got to pay attention
01:04:16.960 to support more than you pay attention to the hate right um yeah well we we got a lot of hate
01:04:22.260 from what's her name, Dini or DD or whatever during the commission every
01:04:27.000 day, who screamed at us and called us terrorists every day.
01:04:32.320 And then on the final, was it the second last day? 1.00
01:04:36.120 She actually dressed up, came into the commission and sat on our chairs and 0.99
01:04:42.280 sat there and, and just like one crappy remark after another until they finally 1.00
01:04:48.340 kicked her out.
01:04:48.900 Yeah, I found that. She actually came into the courtroom one day and she sat right behind my wife and I and was looking over my wife's shoulder at what my wife had on her phone. You know, you're allowed to look at your phone in the courtroom. And we then was broadcasting that. So we had her removed from the courthouse that day. 0.98
01:05:06.240 i just remember at the poec was hilarious because dina dina shreve she would stand on the edge of 1.00
01:05:12.060 the curb with a wagon and she had a crying baby sticker on there and she would yell and scream
01:05:16.740 and yell horrible things at us and i i believe i walked out for some fresh air at the poec and i
01:05:21.840 was at you know at the top of the stairs up there and looking down on her and she was looking at her 0.94
01:05:25.380 phone or doing something else and usually every time i i was near her she would start yelling
01:05:30.220 you know horrible names and that but this time i caught her with a guard off so she wasn't uh
01:05:35.040 she wasn't paying attention. So I had to make sure that she knew I was there.
01:05:37.980 So I yelled at the top of the stairs at her and then the heckling started and I 0.99
01:05:42.600 had to giggle. I just, I woke you from slumber.
01:05:46.740 Yeah. And good old Brendan Miller. He was like, Oh, I'm going to go bum a smoke
01:05:50.200 off her. She went down and started chatting with her. She was nice to Brendan.
01:05:54.720 Right. But, uh, no, like I, I've, I've always found that really interesting,
01:05:59.820 you know, I'm not a combat veteran. So I, and I try to put that out there all
01:06:04.500 the time you know i'm not a guy who went to war i didn't go to afghanistan despite trying i don't
01:06:09.120 know how many times but that's a there's there's logical reasons why i didn't end up going now i'm
01:06:15.600 thankful i didn't go but at the time you know it's hard like i knew 13 people that got killed in
01:06:21.820 afghanistan you know and i there's guys i work with and now all of a sudden i'm standing at
01:06:27.320 attention as their their bodies are touching canadian soil in trenton right like that stuff
01:06:33.680 is real to me and you know i didn't deploy to afghanistan i you know i i missed out on
01:06:41.920 somalia uh believe i was in the army during somalia i missed out on cyprus bosnia i tried to
01:06:49.200 go to uh sudan once you know afghanistan a bunch of times but you know to be willing to go and put
01:06:59.840 yourself into harm's way for this country you always expect that there's you're going for a
01:07:05.840 virtuous reason that the government actually knows something and of course this is this is idealistic
01:07:10.560 thinking right and we signed this thing called unlimited liability which is the only profession
01:07:17.120 in canada the police don't even have this but it's the only profession where you can be ordered to
01:07:21.840 your um you could be ordered to your imminent death um if it's a lawful order it's in combat
01:07:31.840 and you don't have the right to refuse if your commander tells you to go charge that machine
01:07:38.840 gun and take it out okay and so you know when you're willing to do that for your country for
01:07:46.700 your family and then to go to the convoy and to have no, I mean, there was a lot of veterans
01:07:53.580 there, a lot of veterans, but not to get a lot of support from the active military and then to be
01:08:00.680 called a traitor and an insurrectionist. You know, we followed the law. We worked with the police.
01:08:07.740 We worked with lawyers. We worked with judges. We worked with the city, the city manager to be safe
01:08:14.500 and responsible all the time you know in to be called a traitor by your own country or an
01:08:21.100 insurrectionist it just goes to the brainwashing level of the effectiveness of the main street
01:08:28.860 media and how they impact the soft brains of of canadians you know to sit there and accuse
01:08:34.320 somebody who was willing to literally go and lay down their life for this country
01:08:38.900 or at least put yourself into harm's way to come back
01:08:42.540 and to be going to Ottawa to protest a violation of your rights
01:08:47.600 and to stand up for the rights of your fellow citizens
01:08:51.860 in a way that the military is not doing
01:08:54.880 and then to be called a traitor for it.
01:08:59.440 It's a condition of society though. 0.99
01:09:01.800 And Canadians are so passive
01:09:05.320 and they have been brainwashed by legacy media in this country and you know I'll go back to 0.66
01:09:12.140 Convoy too and even this last election time you know we have trade wars right now with China
01:09:17.560 and China and India and those two trade wars are crippling our agriculture industry right now in
01:09:24.360 this country but what would the government want you to focus on that evil man in the United States
01:09:28.920 in the white house which he's not and i just spent a little bit of time in the u.s things are going
01:09:35.400 pretty good down there right now i didn't see any of that hate rhetoric from anyone that i spoke to
01:09:39.980 it's just purely canadian right now and because the media has told you that and the government
01:09:44.880 has had the media focus on that it's no different than convoy and how anyone that was involved in
01:09:50.260 convoy walking the streets down there seeing the atmosphere and felt the pride and the patriotism
01:09:55.160 in this country, but media told citizens a different story, and those citizens are so
01:10:00.500 heavily conditioned in this country. I have neighbors here that are ranching neighbors
01:10:05.040 that watch legacy media all day long on Rewind in their house, and they think Donald Trump
01:10:10.500 is the most evil thing in the world, and they are completely indoctrinated and brainwashed,
01:10:14.880 and it is sickening to have conversations with this, because there's no middle ground
01:10:18.440 anymore in this country when it comes to a conversation with somebody who's on the left
01:10:21.840 or the right. You either are, I go back to that saying, my grandfather voted liberal in the 80s,
01:10:28.580 but he would have conversations and debates with his conservative friends in the local coffee shop,
01:10:34.340 and they would agree to disagree, but they would still show up at that coffee shop the next day
01:10:38.960 to continue those conversations and still carry that dialogue on. And when one of those people
01:10:43.820 in the community passed away, the funerals were large because of how much respect those people
01:10:48.380 had within the community and you know look at eva chip you click this is kind of her since the
01:10:54.660 convoy her whole mantra has been dialogue over division that's what she's always fought for and
01:11:01.220 yet what happens she gets vilified constantly and attacked on social media you know this is where we
01:11:06.940 on the right try to bring facts and reason and logic and respect to the conversation and the
01:11:13.360 left brings emotion and they have no depth like there's no bench on their team no there's there's
01:11:19.920 nobody on second string there it's like a that's it but i just saw one of the comments they were
01:11:25.700 asking me what i thought about the this this ridiculous idea of having 300 000 public servants
01:11:32.000 um join some civil defense force in canada and uh you know david redmond who you know wrote the
01:11:40.740 forward to my my planning book uh him and i have become really good friends you know david and i
01:11:47.140 are uh we're trained to the same level but his experience was was drastically different uh than
01:11:53.860 mine in the military great guy love him but i got to see a really really interesting side of him
01:11:59.040 recently and you know he's in edmonton alberta got to see this great side to him we were going
01:12:04.220 back and forth on email about this whole idea of having a 300 000 civil defense force
01:12:10.000 um it was pretty funny it was a side of david i didn't know he had i loved it but i'll tell you
01:12:17.340 um he he agrees it is it's a pipe dream it's not you're not going to get people to be part of a
01:12:26.680 civil defense force with five days of training and and put a weapon in their hand or a drone
01:12:31.260 or something in their hand and think that they're not going to hurt themselves or somebody else
01:12:35.380 um like this is fighting you know what you know i will i walk those that i walk the canadian grave
01:12:45.680 cemetery in uh in normandy i walked that we went and toured that i spent i don't know how many
01:12:52.160 hours walking up and down those rows looking at that you know winnipeg you know um all the
01:12:57.780 different armed forces divisions across this country who fought and died on on the beaches
01:13:02.140 of normandy that was surreal that was emotional that was that was a fight we had a you know you
01:13:09.520 know a nazi person taking over the country and then work world war world war ii was out and
01:13:15.880 happening right now we have a government that's dictating war over you know whatever they feel
01:13:23.460 the whatever feel they want and i am not about to send my 22 year old son overseas to fight a war
01:13:29.840 for some other it's i'm not gonna let it happen it's a different circumstance now what are we
01:13:36.240 fighting we shouldn't be fighting yeah i i thought it was um i watched i watched something on social
01:13:42.720 media yesterday that i i just can't believe so the adl in the united states um they're saying
01:13:49.720 that america first like the title the slogan america first is actually anti-semitic like this 0.97
01:13:57.220 is this is the garbage that comes out from you know people with these agendas it's like you're 0.92
01:14:03.040 saying that nationalism or america first or canada first is somehow anti-semitic like that doesn't 0.98
01:14:09.720 make any sense like it's completely illogical and it certainly doesn't bolster people to take
01:14:15.140 your side it drives them away but you know what i i i like trump like i i wasn't sure about him
01:14:22.880 the first term uh the first time he was the president i you know i was very very hopeful
01:14:30.420 i wanted him to win the second term what he's doing inside of american borders i think it's
01:14:36.820 great like what he's doing inside of american borders his his domestic policy is is outstanding
01:14:42.060 i gotta say i was pretty shocked on his stance on a couple of things on the foreign policy like
01:14:49.100 bombing Iran, going after Venezuela. I listen to a lot of different people. Tucker Carlson's take
01:14:56.980 on what's going on with Trump on his foreign policy. It's worth listening to. You don't have
01:15:02.560 to agree with me or agree with anyone else, but you just go and get a broad sense of what's really
01:15:08.140 going on. It's okay that you don't agree with every single thing that your leaders do. You can
01:15:14.040 like 10 out of or nine out of 10 things but fundamentally disagree with one and that's okay
01:15:19.300 that's a democracy and it's hard you know democracy is a very hard thing but you know i think that the
01:15:26.960 west listen we've given i work with two ukrainians that i i care deeply about i work with a russian
01:15:33.120 i care deeply about her i work with all like people from all over the world and i gotta say
01:15:39.700 this whole Ukraine thing, uh, $25 billion Canada has contributed to, to the Ukraine war. Okay.
01:15:47.620 $25 billion. Now when I joined the, the Lincoln and well, and in 1990, I was still 16 years old.
01:15:56.980 Okay. It was in my 17th year. We were still training for the cold war. You know, we were
01:16:02.100 still training to go after, you know, the cold world, cold war militaries. They were training
01:16:09.380 for a couple of years to go after us this didn't end right and so we ukraine doesn't belong to
01:16:20.100 ukraine does not belong to the united nations it doesn't belong to un or sorry to nato it we
01:16:27.220 we have no moral obligation to go in and spend 25 million dollars keeping a war going that should 0.96
01:16:34.500 have ended uh two years three years ago two two years ago if it wasn't for the brits ruining the
01:16:40.100 minsk accords but we shouldn't be funding this thing we should be canada first we have canadians
01:16:47.060 living in the streets in tents two million canadians going to food banks okay i'm sorry
01:16:53.460 but how many how many university tuitions would that be for a canadian-born uh kid um you know
01:17:01.940 25 billion dollars how many hospitals could that have built how many um
01:17:09.860 water bombers water bombers water bombers exactly like you know i listen i care about the ukrainian
01:17:18.260 people just as much as i care about the russian people it's the politicians that are setting the
01:17:22.260 conditions for the death but at some point turn off the money and maybe the fighting stops you
01:17:28.340 You know, you're sanctioning Russia, turn off the weapons to Ukraine.
01:17:32.040 I don't mean to do wars.
01:17:33.320 Are we, are, are, are, are what world conflicts right now are happening right now that, that
01:17:37.300 people aren't aware of because media didn't tell them or the government isn't, this is
01:17:42.060 the problem that's going on in this country right now.
01:17:45.000 Yeah, exactly.
01:17:46.160 They want you to.
01:17:47.740 Yep.
01:17:48.300 And that's the problem, right?
01:17:49.560 And we, we have this moral obligation, we think, but then we have a moral obligation
01:17:55.700 to everybody, don't we?
01:17:56.860 can we just pick and choose the ones we have a moral obligation to save or not like i i so this
01:18:03.820 is my thing because joanna is from poland i've been to poland twice she grew up in communism
01:18:08.300 i get it like as as much as i can get it i get it but in my view i know this is getting way off
01:18:16.060 topic and i'll bring it back but at the end of the day canada first let's sort our own crap out
01:18:22.700 and then maybe we can help other people but let's get right back on track i mean our debt we've
01:18:28.540 never like 40 41 42 million people how the hell are we sustaining a trillion dollars in debt
01:18:33.800 right every single time they print more money it makes us more poor and the evidence is all around
01:18:42.160 us you know it's all around us so we have children right now that will never be able to afford we
01:18:48.440 have families in this country right now that can't afford groceries let alone a mortgage payment
01:18:51.860 and are stuck in this system right now and the system is breaking us and then what's the
01:18:56.480 government's next excuse to try and bail us out of this universal basic income i've said this on my
01:19:01.840 on my social media platforms before all universal basic income is going to do is make people more
01:19:06.720 lazy and i know people will not like to hear that but i i am i say what i mean um if you want to
01:19:13.120 make a living you go work for it and the government should not be the more dependent you are on
01:19:18.920 government the more government has control of you and that's exactly what the government wants right
01:19:24.100 now and that's not what you can't think i i agree with you but i'll tell you when it goes right back
01:19:30.980 to this the thing that really upsets me more than anything it's not the government's money
01:19:36.540 no it's ours it's ours like they're they're what's the saying from top gun they're writing
01:19:42.900 checks that their bodies can't cash well we're the bodies we're the bodies that have to pay it
01:19:47.660 back. Carney doesn't pay it back. Trudeau, Freeland, none of those people pay it back.
01:19:53.120 We pay it back. And every time they run up these budgets and they spend more money that they're
01:19:58.920 not reinvesting back in Canada and giving to us, we're the ones who have to not only pay back the
01:20:05.240 principal, but the impossible task of paying back the interest is on us too. So when they like to
01:20:12.520 use the catchphrases, oh, you're stealing from our grandchildren's future bank accounts. That's
01:20:17.700 true. They are. They really are. They never asked us if we wanted to support this war in Ukraine.
01:20:23.240 Never asked us at all. So, you know, I think it would have been appropriate to do a referendum
01:20:28.540 and ask the Canadian public, is this a war that you want to support or not? Ask us, you know,
01:20:36.900 and and maybe instead of forcing us and not giving a choice set up a give send go for ukraine you
01:20:45.500 know by the government and let them do some sort of a fundraiser for ukraine why let people have
01:20:52.620 the choice to donate or not absolutely don't don't steal it from us and then tell us by the way you're
01:20:59.100 paying this back we've taken your principal and you're also going to pay the interest on the loan
01:21:04.000 on the money we gave to another country that we never asked you if you wanted to participate in
01:21:09.860 and now and and to take it one more level since you know world war one world war two korea vietnam
01:21:18.420 the g watt wars get longer technology gets better wars get longer so my nine-year-old
01:21:26.360 okay if this continues to get as bad as it's getting and it's going the way it's trending
01:21:35.620 there's a good chance that by the time my daughter turns 18 years old she could be drafted by canada
01:21:43.380 into this war world war three she could be drafted into world war three right but it's not going to
01:21:50.760 be Carney's kids, Polyev's kids, anybody, any other politicians, kids, it's not like the days
01:21:57.960 of the King went onto the battlefield and was there with his sons. You know, it's going to be,
01:22:03.320 I'm going to draft your kids to go fight the war that I started because I couldn't use my words
01:22:09.480 like a big person and do this. Right. And so this is what really, really upsets me is that one,
01:22:15.960 we have to fund a war we shouldn't have any business being a part of. Two, they're going
01:22:21.860 to draft our children. And make no mistake, Canada's drafted in the first World War I and II.
01:22:27.020 You know, it almost ripped the country apart both times because Quebec didn't want to participate
01:22:31.920 in that. And I don't blame them for that. But it almost ripped the country apart at the time.
01:22:37.280 And they still went ahead and did the draft towards the, you know, they needed to replenish
01:22:41.280 the numbers on the battlefield so canada did draft in world war one and two and a lot of people don't
01:22:46.800 know that okay so you know uh brandon uh meyer yes you signed up i signed up i volunteered i knew
01:22:55.180 what i was getting myself into but i'm i'm not willing to let the government take my kid to go
01:23:02.720 fight a war on the other side of the planet you know as far as i'm concerned it's the europeans
01:23:06.840 problem. It's Poland's problem. It's Hungary's problem. It's Eastern, Central, Western Europe's
01:23:16.700 problem. When we have our own problems here to worry about right now, and that's out of control
01:23:21.660 government right now that is spending our children's grandchildren's money. And eventually 0.99
01:23:27.600 that has to be kind of come to account here. And I don't know. I'm seeing it right now. I don't have
01:23:35.980 much high hopes right now i think this needs to you know this this talk about western independence
01:23:41.580 over over ottawa i said this on a show i was on the other night i'm like can we not just separate
01:23:45.760 from the real problem ottawa just yeah i've good people all the way across this entire country
01:23:50.880 but all the troubles in this country right now originates from one major city in this country
01:23:55.840 and it's it's it's ottawa that's where the bureaucrats are that's where the policies are
01:24:00.040 made that's where all of this division has come from they've been dividing us in our uh in our
01:24:05.340 provinces for many years they've divided us on color race during covid or you know that word
01:24:11.240 they divided us in our households and i think there has to be some accountability somewhere
01:24:15.900 down the road i don't know if there ever will be or not but it's it's it's definitely needed
01:24:19.380 yeah you know i'm gonna i'm gonna say one more thing about ukraine and i'm gonna walk away
01:24:24.000 because that's not the point of this at all we should be talking about tamara's grandchildren
01:24:28.440 i'll say one more thing they're targeting christians they're arresting journalists they've
01:24:33.880 stopped elections um their men are not allowed to leave the country uh if you're fighting age and i
01:24:40.440 think that's up to 65 you're not allowed to leave the country so we should sacrifice our economy
01:24:47.000 and our youth to go spread democracy in a country that doesn't actually have it to save to save what
01:24:54.200 in a country that was a former mortal enemy during the cold war of canada and we have no moral
01:25:02.200 obligation or even legal obligation to get involved in that and I still say that it is
01:25:06.360 unfortunately it's it's eastern it's it's Europe's Europe should contain that problem
01:25:13.280 for now we we have Kearney to deal with oh and we do yeah I think it'll work itself out in the end
01:25:20.640 when Canadians are waking up I think more Canadians are waking up daily with this right now
01:25:24.720 I'm seeing that more evident and you know the the harder the government pushes the more people
01:25:30.040 realize exactly what's going on
01:25:32.060 and, you know, truth
01:25:33.820 will always prevail, so
01:25:35.460 I promised my family I would give it an
01:25:38.060 hour and a half tonight, like I said, I've been gone for
01:25:40.060 over a week and a half here and I can
01:25:42.020 smell the ham cooking upstairs and I
01:25:43.840 am craving for it, so
01:25:45.460 we're going to shut her down for the night there, everyone
01:25:47.840 I think we did pretty good, Tom
01:25:50.160 we missed Tamara, she kind of keeps us in queue
01:25:52.040 keeps us grounded, schedule
01:25:54.000 but we just kind of went where we wanted to tonight
01:25:56.040 and that was a good chat, so
01:25:57.460 yeah, always is
01:25:59.180 I appreciate everybody
01:26:01.060 tuning in and keep an eye
01:26:03.040 once again our thoughts are with Tamara
01:26:05.260 right now and her new granddaughter
01:26:07.160 in Manitoba and
01:26:09.120 yeah she'll be busy busy grandmothering
01:26:11.380 for the next little while and it's pretty cool to
01:26:13.320 see so thanks everyone 0.80
01:26:15.000 Ruby you're going to have to kick us
01:26:17.340 out of this because I don't know how to run the live
01:26:19.200 and the on live so everybody have
01:26:20.840 an amazing week and we will see you
01:26:23.140 next week Tamara will be back 1.00
01:26:24.560 we don't know who we're going to have on next week but
01:26:26.900 guaranteed Tom and Tamara
01:26:29.080 and I will be here, so.
01:26:30.740 Yep, yep.
01:26:31.460 Thanks, everyone.
