00:00:00.800 from the age of big brother if they want to get you they'll get you dnsa specifically

00:00:06.880 targets the communications of everyone they're collecting your communications

00:00:19.120 okay everybody hello it is thought crime week uh it is thanksgiving week

00:00:23.840 and uh we are here by the way the official uniform of thought crime this week is the thanksgiving

00:00:30.240 uniform i decided to go as charlie kirk for this thanksgiving i didn't i didn't fully shave i might

00:00:36.000 later and then and then like your hair thing where you do like the down up it's like hey it's it's the

00:00:40.960 natural color it's like a nice it's like a nike swoosh it is it's uh i have it to have it trademarked

00:00:45.520 is that why you only wear nikes i actually don't only wear nikes um but i should uh so we also have

00:00:51.520 blake and tyler as well what are they wearing let's see blake is probably wearing a t-shirt

00:00:55.520 i'm wearing my turkey hat i i believe this is a kirkland shirt uh i don't actually have a costco

00:01:01.120 membership but uh i'll be honest my mother buys a lot of shirts for me i'm wearing my turkey hat

00:01:06.720 my native american shawl i hear all you guys in there and then my arizona state t-shirt because

00:01:11.920 we're going to the big tall championship unless things go awry on saturday well maybe hold on

00:01:16.640 tyler you know the story of arizona football whatever is predictable no tyler knows this

00:01:21.440 they will curse whatever inevitable path they have they mess it up i'm it is an inevitability

00:01:27.680 of arizona state football i've got a front row seat charlie on saturday with my two brothers 0.89

00:01:33.200 right behind kenny dillyham so and down in tucson this is a very dumb question oh you're going but

00:01:41.040 going down to tucson like they play out i'm going down to tucson and front row seat i like tucson 0.94

00:01:46.720 tucson's nice so it's going to be a miserable drive back this is a dumb question having never

00:01:51.200 gone to an asu football game do they just like suffer in complete agony for their first like

00:01:56.800 three home games of the season because you know oh no they do evenings evenings they do them in

00:02:02.320 the evenings it's actually really still 95 degrees in arizona it's a nice brisk 98 but here's the

00:02:08.720 factoid for everybody that's listening arizona has the longest rivalry game in the country the

00:02:15.680 territorial cup between arizona state and arizona people don't believe it look it up

00:02:21.600 no way oregon oregon state has to be older i'm no look it up territorial cup is the longest

00:02:26.800 recognized ncaa football longest played now he's in here come all the caveats

00:02:32.960 yale princeton goes back to 1873 no it's the oldest it's the oldest is it like the oldest that

00:02:39.520 how is it older than 1873 no yale princeton is pretty i mean yale princeton was 1873 no but the

00:02:46.640 rivalry game i'm surprised it's continuing that yale princeton is a rivalry game they hate each other

00:02:51.920 you have to look up the territory montana montana state 1897 that's pretty old illinois state eastern

00:02:58.000 illinois 19 arizona wasn't even a state back then no one lived in arizona that's why it couldn't be

00:03:02.480 an arizona state because there wasn't a state that's why i'm looking i'm looking online and

00:03:07.040 this is the duel in the desert is just 1899 and there's many rivalries that are older than 1899

00:03:14.560 there's uh michigan notre dame 1887 duke north carolina 1888 the oldest one that tyler knows about

00:03:22.960 no no no actually look google territorial cup army navy game 1890 i i feel like the army

00:03:29.760 navy game is pretty old like they're and they're still going territorial cup the nation's oldest

00:03:35.440 rivalry trophy oh oldest trophy that's so they well you can't really have a cup without a trophy

00:03:42.960 you could just spiritually have one that's it so and that's and that was territorial that's what's

00:03:48.560 called the territorial cup sounds like your territorial and arizona state was the normal

00:03:53.040 school and that was it big time okay all right i'm not saying it's good football i'm just saying it's

00:03:58.720 it's i have by the way since it is a thanksgiving day episode i wanted to flag that we have all

00:04:03.440 something very uh important to be grateful for uh you remember real raw news charlie 12 you remember

00:04:10.720 real raw news america's only trustworthy news source uh they have a breaking report today just before

00:04:15.840 thanksgiving special forces have arrested kamala harris she has come back finally vacation in hawaii

00:04:24.640 but they they nabbed her according to the story there were moles inside of her secret service detail 1.00

00:04:31.920 and they couldn't get her in hawaii i guess hawaii is like the deep state safe zone where they control 0.62

00:04:37.760 things but they got her back to dc which is also a deep state safe zone but not as safe and so they

00:04:43.440 managed to take her into custody she and doug emhoff will be sent to gitmo to stand trial for treason

00:04:50.640 i i'm glad real raw news was able to get giving happy thanksgiving we got i was worried that she

00:04:58.000 might be out there making so tyler's half right it's the oldest trophy it's the oldest trophy

00:05:04.080 okay that is that is legit so it is the oldest trophy the territorial cup it's pretty impressive

00:05:12.000 it doesn't sound like it's a trophy it sounds like it's a cup nothing yeah no he's right the

00:05:15.440 territorial cup was created 125 years ago that is 1899 championship it's the oldest rivalry trophy

00:05:21.680 in college football but what what was the school even called before i i don't know they're not

00:05:26.720 where asu was called the normal school it was called the normal it was called tempe it was

00:05:31.200 literally called tempe normal tempe normal and arizona huh it was the territorial cup is so old

00:05:39.920 that it literally is like a cup it looks like a it looks like a vase i'm actually impressed that i

00:05:46.240 did i thought no one lived in arizona it's like 1930 no my ancestors were there and it was literally

00:05:51.840 just two football i said except prior to 1912 it was just two football teams yeah i i just okay

00:05:58.320 it's remarkable and to go that you had to replace someone on the team arizona's population in 1890

00:06:04.320 was 88 000 people when did your family moved here we chased twice as many more than 65 percent of

00:06:12.720 them were related to our to tyler i'm a seventh generation arizona when did when did the old

00:06:17.520 boyer show up here it wasn't boyer it was lambs and uh and then those people but they was this

00:06:24.640 1860s 1860 in 1860 the population of arizona is 6482 people better not i'm sad is that is oh

00:06:33.600 gee second cousins with sheriff lamp yep man now there's uh 6 000 there's like probably

00:06:41.920 more than that within like a couple blocks of here oh yeah for sure all right speaking of

00:06:46.880 getting out into the wild they say evolution has gone soft and that men have traded their

00:06:51.280 strength for comfort but if you're not about to let your instincts go dull some fuel up with

00:06:55.840 something raw and real you hear that it's in the script blake raw and real right there it's in the

00:07:03.440 script right jack am i making it up something raw real and primal by the way we should do a spin-off

00:07:10.240 called primal news by the way blake could be a millionaire running primal news as a spin-off

00:07:17.600 of real raw news because he understands that language so well we should just call it is there

00:07:22.640 a primal news i don't even want to see what i don't think there is no there's no problem

00:07:25.680 news i'm sure that would be i'm gonna primal news okay this is gonna end wrong not good

00:07:30.960 naked organs is the name it's called naked organs we're talking pure bison liver kidney heart and

00:07:36.480 testicles some of which are very nutrient dense on the planet nutrient dense foods on the planet

00:07:41.840 bison liver alone packs up more than three times more vitamin a than muscle meat along with high

00:07:45.840 levels of vitamin b12 iron and folate all essential for energy immune health and keeping you sharp and

00:07:50.640 the best part you get all these powerhouse nutrients in a form that's easy to take no raw organs required

00:07:56.480 head to benaked.com use promo code charlie head and get 15 off time to silence the noise reclaim

00:08:01.520 your power and get back to being unstoppable okay guys we have to talk about thanksgiving

00:08:07.520 is it okay to eat steak on thanksgiving i really worry it's the only thing you eat on thanksgiving no

00:08:14.880 no that's incorrect incorrect not a lot no no you can have tyler and i were discussing not at all

00:08:21.440 not at all not at all you can have obviously you must have turkey it is required to have turkey

00:08:27.760 you may have ham if it is supplementary to the turkey but like it should be any meat you have

00:08:35.840 should be from like a a central meat dispensing entity you cannot have individualized servings of

00:08:43.600 meat that is that is my position is not from a central meat dispensing no like you don't you don't make a

00:08:49.600 giant you don't make like a 50 pound steak and then take like a piece of it and like pass the giant

00:08:54.880 super steak around like that that's what you do with ham or turkey like you make the whole turkey or

00:09:00.320 you make the whole ham and you like cut a little bit of it but you don't do that with steak but that's

00:09:05.280 what i'm saying that's what i'm saying you can have a separate serving of a plate of steak for people

00:09:10.320 similar to the ham no it's just wrong like no because ham is ham is like supplement

00:09:19.520 to the turkey taste you have to have turkey and ham on your plate

00:09:24.640 you don't need ham though you don't want no you don't need him you have to have no no i'm a turkey

00:09:28.880 purist but some people think that they they can start to get really now christmas is a completely

00:09:33.840 different ball game there are no rules with christmas ham is usually center but steak is acceptable

00:09:38.960 yeah but no but still christmas is a whole thanksgiving it is un-american not to have

00:09:45.360 either turkey some sort of dressing cranberries but here's the thing about the cranberry thing

00:09:51.520 if you want to be an ultra traditionalist right it must be straight out of the can yes taken vertically

00:09:56.880 with no adjustments and now if you want to have this is it wait is this some chicago thing now hold on

00:10:03.040 no no no no no no no no it's and if you want to have cranberry with adjustments that could be

00:10:08.000 supplementary but however it must be out of the can and you just take it vertically and it just jiggles

00:10:13.840 walk me through your stuffing the stuffing is very interesting okay now here's the big question yes

00:10:18.880 does the stuffing go in the turkey or is it prepared outside of the turkey is that stuffing

00:10:23.760 versus dressing and cook it with the turkey or some people will prepare it and then just put it in

00:10:28.320 for like the final see that's that's the final leg you got to go the full lantha so it i dressing has

00:10:36.080 to be obviously cornbread yes some sort of celeries and carrots sure sausage need your crunch a little

00:10:43.920 crunch mix that all together um but you know what makes the stuffing really kicker the gravy yes and so

00:10:51.920 you need the gravy you have the stuffing you have the jiggling cranberry you got the turkey and that's

00:10:59.520 all that's accepted and then also maybe green beans and then sweet potatoes green casserole how do you

00:11:04.080 make the sweet potatoes whoa whoa what's the issue with green bean casserole i i just i just it's not

00:11:10.240 it's not allowed what do you mean it's not you're getting too cute green bean casserole green bean casserole

00:11:14.560 with uh it's a total staple with the no no with those little crunchy things on top right onions

00:11:20.400 the fried onions no no i like what i like the long uninterrupted unblemished green beans with butter

00:11:27.680 with butter yeah that's good though those are good no casserole casserole i never said casserole the

00:11:32.400 casserole is no we are saying casserole is a staple it's an absolute thanksgiving i don't think it's a

00:11:38.240 staple 100 uh and then let me think what else okay yes then the sweet potatoes sure but none of this

00:11:44.480 marshmallow stuff you see this is new age and it's a mistake we're all of a sudden full trad no no

00:11:50.560 it's a mixture of it's like 1950s thanksgiving right it's like that's why it's like the gel you

00:11:55.360 know it's no no i'm saying no marshmallows no no no marshmallow the marshmallow thing is is a disgrace

00:11:59.600 with well charlie hold on a second though because there is one thing wait wait wait wait there is one

00:12:05.200 thing one dish that we know for a fact was served at the original thanksgiving charlie you know where i'm

00:12:10.880 going with this smallpox no no no charlie not what not what we served what was served to us got it

00:12:17.600 corn oh see no no no oh corn was served at the original the only corn that is acceptable is

00:12:24.080 cornbread i will say you have to bend the knee to the corn god and cornbread has to be either the

00:12:28.240 dressing the stuff stuff do you agree tyler long time thought time uh listeners will remember that

00:12:33.600 charlie is is is like blake radicalized me against the corn god anti-cornite i i think i think corn has no

00:12:39.920 redemptive value unless it is for thanksgiving because then it is a sacrament to squanto no no 1.00

00:12:46.480 corn is good in the summertime we we eat the corn on thanksgiving to show our thanks that the angry

00:12:51.920 corn god has not destroyed us so corn corn on the exactly this is exactly right i forgot his name i

00:12:58.640 forgot the corn god's name no no we're not talking about corn on the cob we're talking about corn elements

00:13:02.800 corn bread for example corn even even wait wait even charlie kirk like the chief anti-corn wow this

00:13:10.320 is huge no this is what thanks this is big this is let's be very clear thanksgiving is not about

00:13:14.880 what you want to do it is what your ancestors did okay and it doesn't matter you don't want to do

00:13:22.720 no that's what i'm saying it's not about i don't care about if you don't like cranberries you don't like

00:13:26.080 turkey suck it up it's thanksgiving there is no this this modernity like i'm gonna put like stanyo 0.94

00:13:33.200 doesn't tanya will not eat turkey she won't it doesn't matter she'll make it she won't figure it 0.58

00:13:36.800 out she won't eat it so so here in arizona i don't know what to tell you i completely agree with charlie

00:13:41.600 i think the canned cranberry is a must on the table however you have to have you have to have a second in

00:13:50.720 arizona we have jalapeno cranberries incredible if you haven't had it i know you're regionalizing

00:13:57.120 this too much jalapeno no it's good yeah it adds a little spice it's just a little bit like when i

00:14:03.680 went to the grand canyon last summer and i discovered that i guess they just sell like prickly pear

00:14:08.080 everything at every arizona oh yeah yeah yeah something that's that's anywhere chicken is great

00:14:14.560 so i i have a question for everybody though and this is getting deep into the weeds so we talked about

00:14:20.320 stuffing or dressing moist stuffing or dry stuffing and it's got to be dry but the gravy makes it moist

00:14:28.320 if you make it too moist you're for the boys make it more moist for the gravy you can't you it has to

00:14:33.920 be on the spectrum of tilt moist but not too much because if it's too dry then it's just it's too brittle

00:14:41.760 and brittle there's nothing worse than brittle dressing so so you call it dressing scoopable it's

00:14:47.040 i'm noticing that you call it dressing it should be stuffing however i've been corrected many times

00:14:51.680 i've always called stuffing even though it's not technically stuffing unless it's within the turkey

00:14:56.480 yes dressing's outside the turkey no it's not no i i i grew up calling it stuffing even though

00:15:02.640 we never put it in the turkey but it's the i mean i get that but the the type of food would be

00:15:07.280 called still stuffing dressing is like for salads no no no no no dressing is outside that is

00:15:15.600 i reject that completely stuffing is like a type of food and it like it should be used to stuff in

00:15:20.880 it but it is still stuffing even if it's not doing the stuff there's lots of things dressing is outside

00:15:25.520 where we don't use the name properly but we but we still call it that because it used to be i'm excited

00:15:30.000 for thanksgiving at this point this is great so we're not doing to people know we're pre-taping this

00:15:34.720 yeah yeah we are we are today we are on no we are we actually we blew off thanksgiving

00:15:41.680 we're supposed to be eating right now yeah yeah so now let's let's now go to the more fundamental

00:15:47.840 question okay dessert okay because that really is what do you need to set well for me i mean if i have

00:15:55.680 i have all right go ahead no no you go you know this is i have i have at times and my mom knows this

00:16:00.880 i have left the house gone to the store and purchased the ingredients for pumpkin pie and

00:16:08.400 brought it home and made it myself because there was no pumpkin pie available it is required oh i

00:16:14.000 i completely agree it is like 100 the first commandment of oh yeah thanksgiving oh yes thou

00:16:20.640 shall have pumpkin pie with whipped cream with whipped cream yes it is a non-negotiable right if it's not

00:16:25.520 there like i i i got up i got my car i was like i'm just gonna go i'm not gonna now ryan asks a

00:16:30.480 really good question is thanksgiving meal a lunch or a dinner the answer is around 3 30 to 4 pm yeah

00:16:37.360 that is the sweet spot right as the sun is going down in chicago yeah boom you sit down right it is

00:16:42.640 thanksgiving that is way too late it is itself its own meal no no that is that's way too late you do it

00:16:49.680 i would say neff family tradition is maybe 1 to 1 30 p.m ah it's so early super early what are you

00:16:57.280 doing half time of the second football game when are you going to sleep time of the second five ball

00:17:03.280 game no yes you gotta smell the first football game is the lions right the cowboys are always second

00:17:09.440 we we have a tradition in our house half time of cowboys we get seated because we're cheering that

00:17:14.560 the cowboys will lose yes well that's good but no it's we're in philadelphia way too it's way too late

00:17:21.440 we share that tradition as well like tv's off during the meal no tv should be off yeah no yeah like

00:17:30.240 no i i i greatly dislike the like tv sanctification of thanksgiving like i don't know i would watch

00:17:38.480 i i would consider it like if the packers are on i would watch the packers but i do not consider it

00:17:43.920 essential to watch now there's three games on thanksgiving we usually have like no this is true

00:17:48.320 there has been a desecration it used to be only two games and it was on fox it would be the lions who

00:17:54.080 used to be bad and now they're good and actually who do they play this week let me see it's i bet

00:17:58.560 it's actually pretty good lineup and then it was the cowboys but now nbc got greedy because it was

00:18:04.640 fox had their game cbs had their game and then nbc got greedy and they snuck in their own so is that

00:18:10.480 this week no okay let me see here what do we got we got a new week of football okay there's three

00:18:14.960 games oh blake you're in luck yeah i know i know i'll see it's the dolphins are visiting lambo okay i'm

00:18:22.480 gonna be watching that oh and chicago plays on thanksgiving oh wow they're gonna get they're

00:18:27.360 gonna get annihilated they're gonna die at detroit it's gonna be that right that's yeah that's not

00:18:32.880 good by the way you can tell who's having a better season tickets start at ford field for 181

00:18:38.400 tickets start at jerry stademan 28 bucks yeah my my son asked me the other day because he saw when we

00:18:44.240 went to the uh the eagles game and he was like all jealous that we went and so he was like oh daddy

00:18:48.960 give me some eagles tickets we'll go and so we looked up the ones for thanksgiving weekend and i was

00:18:52.400 like i gotta sell a lot more pillows yeah like eagles tickets right now are it was uh 500 was like

00:18:59.680 the highest nose 3 11 is where they start out insane yeah this you're seeing what 3 11 and that's in

00:19:05.200 baltimore but baltimore's so close you're basically you're basically in the silly light right yeah

00:19:09.440 you're pretty much in it's like 90 minutes you know the way i drive it's 90 minutes okay so now

00:19:13.760 now that we have developed by the way by the way i don't want to throw my mom under the bus because 0.99

00:19:18.320 every single year and i know she's going to watch this every single year post that there's like a

00:19:22.640 selection of pumpkin pies that is always available the way it must be by the way do you think that pecan pie

00:19:28.880 can also make an appearance of course yeah okay good other pies can be there but pumpkin is no

00:19:33.760 pecan pie i actually prefer more than pumpkin pie yeah however i must have a slice of pumpkin

00:19:38.480 wait wait wait were you always like that though when you were little my mom makes a killer pecan pie 0.99

00:19:44.720 okay like destroys the world okay what about what about when i was younger i was always pumpkin

00:19:51.360 but then well pecan pie now now we're getting into chocolate pecan pie and that's where you just

00:19:56.320 surrender you're just done at that it's just it so you throw you throw because guys you know folks

00:20:01.600 who don't know charlie you're usually pretty strict with your diet you're usually it's like yeah you're

00:20:05.840 usually like no no but thanksgiving's different thanksgiving you go all in and it is it is a holy

00:20:11.200 day by the way i think thanksgiving is one of america's greatest traditions it is because it's a day

00:20:16.000 just to give thanks i think it's uniquely awesome talk about that for a little bit because there's you

00:20:21.680 know a lot of people say well it's you know it's just about the it's you know it's the indians it's

00:20:25.280 the pilgrims well everything is what you make of who cares who cares there's no god involved why why

00:20:30.080 do you well no first of all the pilgrims were definitely giving thanks to god but they were

00:20:33.520 they were not giving you know thanks to brahmin but they were giving thanks to the almighty god

00:20:38.320 and but yeah secondly i just think it's amazing especially during the season where we have such

00:20:42.880 abundance and we won the election that there's a day where you just stop and you say thank you

00:20:46.960 which then of course acknowledges you're saying thank you to a higher power and i i don't know of

00:20:51.520 another nation or another country that has a day of gratitude i think i actually said this once and

00:20:56.320 i guess there was like some random african country that has it and that's fine i got like in trouble 0.99

00:21:00.880 for saying this last year yeah okay so fine i i guess senegal has has a day like that i'll look it up

00:21:05.600 however great job senegal or whatever but but what but following in some good footsteps but a day of

00:21:10.880 gratitude i i i subscribe to the prager hopefully he's doing better he's he's fighting like crazy right now

00:21:16.640 belief he's really struggling that happiness is impossible if you are not grateful and i believe

00:21:21.360 that i do not think you can have joy i do not think you can have be content if you're not grateful and

00:21:25.520 i think it's a beautiful thing as a nation we have a day to say thank you well and shout out to the

00:21:29.120 on the nation always who uh who always gave us the story of thanksgiving real quick no just real quick

00:21:35.520 you know shout out to the og who always told us the true story of thanksgiving rush limbaugh oh man he was

00:21:40.800 an og on that he just did it every year i've still got i've got a recording of it uh somewhere

00:21:46.080 we used to play it and i gotta re-listen that and try to so good send that me send that to me now i

00:21:50.880 gotta retry to recreate it i i did something on the show uh last year where i sort of like i i didn't

00:21:56.960 try to do it like rush did it but i told the story and people just have to keep telling that story

00:22:01.600 over and over and they tried socialism it failed then they tried giving people ownership of their

00:22:08.800 various plots of land and then they had an overabundance of their harvest and so they gave

00:22:15.760 thanks to god what a concept what an incredible concept but instead now it's all like oh the 1.00

00:22:22.880 pilgrims were dying and the indians had to come and they saved the pilgrims because they were stupid 1.00

00:22:28.240 europeans didn't know anything even though squanto had actually lived in europe uh even he had been in 0.99

00:22:34.160 london uh more recently than the pilgrims had it's always spoken english so well but of course

00:22:39.040 you know facts are blake you were saying something well so first of all i was saying we should make fun

00:22:44.000 of canada for having their knockoff thanksgiving that is just one month before ours i think we should

00:22:50.080 always use every opportunity to bully canada because it's fun and but also even like the full story of

00:22:58.480 thanksgiving because evil liberals always want to dunk on it like it's even more beautiful than just

00:23:03.920 the pilgrims doing it when they settled here uh like the very first like annual thanksgiving national

00:23:10.320 holiday fourth thursday in november like clockwork that was started by abraham lincoln in 1863

00:23:18.000 middle of the civil war the peak of the civil war i think that's probably the bloodiest year of the

00:23:22.560 civil war and he says yes like in the middle of this we're going to have a celebration of national

00:23:28.960 thanksgiving and like that was what set it as a national holiday george washington declared a day

00:23:34.480 of thanksgiving it's truly uh you know it's a great thing because it is possibly the one great national

00:23:43.040 tradition that was created in america that we have had for the entire history of america that is just

00:23:49.600 totally our own thing and then us being america we have exported it to the rest of the world in 0.63

00:23:53.840 various ways someone was very shocked to learn i was talking to a foreigner who was like wasn't

00:24:00.480 black friday this week no no black friday is this week and well it's kind of terrible now yeah

00:24:08.160 i used to be a black friday person but now it's i'm done it's it's awful it's just so awful and it's

00:24:14.320 not even black friday anymore because black friday there's like well charlie given everything

00:24:18.800 that you just said about uh the importance of thanksgiving what do you think about the people

00:24:22.720 who leave thanksgiving dinner early to go and start shopping first of all first of all i totally

00:24:28.640 when i grew up it was actually black friday yeah now it's like black thursday evening right and it's

00:24:34.800 not like you start lining up like the sales actually begin it's actually interesting for younger listeners

00:24:39.600 that don't know after so many people got trampled in the walmart raids because people would line up

00:24:45.840 they keep the stores open right they don't close them and reopen them because it used to be the

00:24:50.240 walmart would close and then and then all the all the deals and the sales would be set and then

00:24:55.200 people would get trampled so much i think someone almost died and they got hospitalized and there were

00:24:58.800 tons of people did die this is the plot of that this is the plot of people die is that right i didn't

00:25:02.720 know that yeah people died that's terrible people got ran over that i didn't know they died that there's

00:25:08.160 that thanks thanksgiving horror movie this is actually the plot where people get killed and then like

00:25:12.240 someone's getting revenge on the people who started the uh the stampede so so i i had no problem with

00:25:18.960 like you have a really really good thanksgiving and then you want to get good deals on stuff and i think

00:25:23.920 that was fine it was like a good kickoff to the christmas season but and it used to be when i grew up

00:25:30.080 there was a grittiness to black friday there was like it took it took real spirit so you have to

00:25:36.160 understand like i grew up in chicago it would always be like sub 20 degrees and if you wanted

00:25:42.320 to get a black friday deal you had to earn it so you had to like leave with your family at like 10 p.m

00:25:47.120 after all that turkey's full and you like stood in line at target from the open their doors at 1201

00:25:52.240 yeah right and you would like shop all night and you would like get 7 11 coffee and get home by like

00:25:59.680 5 a.m and you felt like i earned this deal and it was like it was like a sense of accomplishment and

00:26:04.960 you know what i mean you had to have there was like a limit to what you could get of course no

00:26:09.840 and it was very narrow and it was like one specific we would go through catalogs and go through what

00:26:15.440 was on sale yep this was all before internet i want to throw to blake in a second but the internet

00:26:20.800 ruined it there was also there was a divide and conquer strategy of what stores are we gonna hit

00:26:25.920 are we gonna go to best buy are we gonna go to home depot because like and you're shopping for other

00:26:30.560 people and there was like a real like conquest like chess game oh yeah it's like oh wow best buy

00:26:36.400 opens at 11 30 and walmart's at midnight my my strategy would always be like i would find the one

00:26:42.240 store that was like within a 45 minute drive but in like a like a non-populated area so much fun

00:26:49.360 think about or like a staples because nobody thinks that staples would have stuff but they do have

00:26:53.440 computers and different you know hot items so like what are what's the thing that people aren't going to

00:26:58.720 think about and that's where i'm gonna go and now you just wait for cyber monday and click a couple

00:27:02.160 buttons and so all the adventure of it and you don't earn it anymore it used to be you'd get home

00:27:07.280 at 3 30 in the morning you're like i got a good deal on a big screen tv it was a it was a teenage

00:27:12.640 rite of passage in suburban chicago blake your thoughts yeah it was really uh i i can still think

00:27:18.560 of like individual things i went out of my way to get on black friday i think i still have a playstation

00:27:24.320 3 that i got in 2011 i think i can remember the exact deal it was a ps slim 250 dollars it came

00:27:30.560 with little big planet and like some crummy ratchet and clank game who cares but like that was the

00:27:35.600 best deal you could get for i think like two years after that point but what ended up killing it was

00:27:42.080 as you said you know you were you'd go for the time and it used to be okay it was on black friday

00:27:45.840 normal hours then they would open it at like 6 a.m in the morning and people would show up before

00:27:50.960 then someone got ahead and made it oh let's open exactly at midnight and then what finally killed

00:27:55.760 it i think the rise of the internet was a factor but another thing that killed it was companies

00:28:01.440 decided to get so green they just said we're doing black friday on thanksgiving and they would just be

00:28:06.480 open on thanksgiving with those deals and i think to america's credit there was popular backlash to this

00:28:12.960 where they're saying wait you're forcing employees to skip thanksgiving to come in and work on

00:28:19.760 thanksgiving though i must hedge i have to be personally grateful for the fact that some that

00:28:26.320 stores are open on thanksgiving some of them because i visited a friend this is about 10 years ago i went

00:28:32.560 down to a friend in tennessee for thanksgiving and i took a a mega bus down you know poor we have to

00:28:39.600 travel by bus and i took a mega bus down and i had a bag under it and we i had to get off in chattanooga

00:28:46.240 which was the final destination was atlanta and they get out and they're like okay where's your

00:28:50.320 bag i'm like oh it's under the thing and they open it and they they feel around they're like ah

00:28:54.000 yeah we can't find it we have a schedule to do we have we have to go and they just drove away

00:28:59.440 with my bag with all of my changes of clothes and i arrived late wednesday night so i had to go to a

00:29:06.480 walmart which thanks to american capitalism was open on thanksgiving and i had to buy an entire set of

00:29:13.040 clothes for the whole weekend so i had that perspective i actually one of my first jobs was

00:29:17.840 in high school i took the the seasonal job at target and my first day like first real day was

00:29:26.240 thanksgiving or black friday so i had to wake up after thanksgiving when i was like a sophomore

00:29:33.920 in high school at like literally 4 a.m i had to be at target at 4 30 help stock everything this was

00:29:40.640 still the days that they still open the doors like charlie was talking about before they just

00:29:45.360 like leave it open or open like super early and there would be like i get there at like four o'clock

00:29:50.640 and there would be a line wrapped around the building that people waiting to get in and we had to stock

00:29:55.200 everything so so here's a crazy story so you guys there's a myth that black friday is the day after

00:30:04.640 thanksgiving and you know what why that's a myth because the real truth is the real truth is that

00:30:12.720 thanksgiving is the day before black friday and that is because let me finish the story this is because

00:30:20.240 i am not making it up the current date of thanksgiving is because of like an evil plot by fdr

00:30:27.680 no i'm not making this up so lincoln's proclamation of thanksgiving is thanksgiving is on the last

00:30:34.220 thursday of the month yes it is on the last thursday right it is not on the last thursday it

00:30:39.280 it is currently on the fourth thursday of the month that is what the federal law is so there are

00:30:44.620 sometimes five requires a friday so there are sometimes five uh thursdays in november and then it

00:30:51.480 would be on the fourth it used to be on the fifth and then during the great depression i believe in

00:30:55.400 1939 fdr got in his head if there's a longer like if there's a longer time between thanksgiving and

00:31:03.920 christmas there will be a longer christmas shopping season and so people will shop more and this will

00:31:09.840 stimulate the economy and so he intervened and he moved thanksgiving to be a week earlier and this

00:31:18.000 became a partisan political issue and so for a few years uh republican states said we're not doing

00:31:25.140 this and we're refusing to go along with it so you had a democrat thanksgiving on the fourth thursday

00:31:31.020 and you had a republican thanksgiving on the fifth one and i think texas because they were a democrat

00:31:37.480 state but had a lot of like conservative democrats who didn't like fdr they called the truce and they

00:31:42.340 just had they said they're both holidays and they had two thanksgivings and then sadly congress submitted

00:31:49.380 and now it's just on the fourth thursday and we we lost that culture war battle what you were saying

00:31:54.760 though what you were saying though there's a deeper and and producer faz talks about this all the time

00:32:00.040 his birthday was this week by the way shout out um he calls it micro wins micro w's and how so charlie

00:32:06.420 you'd appreciate this is that like in in your teenage years and and working retail you know used to be

00:32:13.000 part of this too but in your teenage years there used to be a variety of things that you would do as a

00:32:16.680 right of passage that have all been pretty much completely destroyed because of new technology

00:32:21.700 um one of those of course was waiting in line like this another one of those you know having those

00:32:26.980 retail jobs again with no phone to like just you know constantly be there getting you through it

00:32:31.960 monotony going through it um one of the other ones we i don't know how i got into this the other day

00:32:37.260 on twitter was like it's not even thanksgiving related but it was like when you used to have to call

00:32:41.040 someone's house and if you wanted to if you wanted to call a girl you had to call her house and you

00:32:46.840 had to get through mom or potentially dad and so it's like the elimination of all those things in

00:32:55.140 society has now created men or adults who don't actually go through any meaningful rite of passage

00:33:02.240 no i mean i totally agree with that i mean some of these other rites of passage were like

00:33:07.060 elementary things such as be home before dark like that was like a very simple thing right

00:33:12.880 um i mean other rites of passage were that you need to memorize like you say the home phone numbers

00:33:19.820 of at least five people that yeah memorizing phone numbers right i don't think anybody does that

00:33:23.960 anymore like anybody i know tanya's um i know my parents um i know all the phone numbers from when i

00:33:29.320 grew up i know a bunch of when i grew up yeah like i know a bunch of my buddies um but like my brother

00:33:34.320 got a cell phone later i don't know i also think it was really important that when i used to call

00:33:40.080 somebody's house i had to speak to an adult that's what i'm saying i think i think that was that's

00:33:43.880 what i'm saying think about that think about i think it's a very under appreciated there was no

00:33:48.520 texting it didn't exist no when i was in sixth grade aol instant messenger was just starting okay

00:33:54.860 and that was a thing but it had to be on a like publicly available computer in my house

00:34:00.140 and it wasn't like you couldn't like bring it with you at all times it was like there was like

00:34:04.180 a very you know like so it was just like logging on and logging off was a thing oh it was totally a

00:34:09.700 thing that's they had the away message like yeah and like you would come home to see if you got any

00:34:14.420 messages and i actually again i don't even know if that was a healthier version of this crap that we

00:34:19.980 have right now much healthier and so i i loved aol instant messenger for the record i thought it was

00:34:24.520 really fun um and it was actually a really really good service i it was really i mean i really liked

00:34:30.140 it and it was a lot of our social norms a lot of our social norms on texting it came from aol

00:34:35.240 instant messenger oh yeah that's right does lol comes from that lol brb lol ttyl lol absolutely

00:34:43.280 comes from aol instant messenger aol still exists by the way there are still millions of people getting

00:34:49.100 they shut down instant messenger instant messenger has been dead not only is instant messenger is that

00:34:53.560 right it's been dead aim is done aim is dead i i charlie it's even older than that because i i was

00:35:00.340 on instant messenger because jack and i are a little bit older than you i was on a semester no but i'm

00:35:05.480 saying it was big i would just like to know it started to grow tyler is way older than charlie

00:35:10.240 way old so yeah so jack's older than me yeah tyler actually is the first that's what that brings back

00:35:17.140 like yeah yeah yeah oh it's so yeah i loved aol yeah aol is my wedding invite oh here's another

00:35:24.280 here's another rite of passage okay um playing a video game so much that it overheats

00:35:30.600 oh yeah yeah no that's what was it right that's like a real thing we're playing a game playing a game

00:35:36.540 jack knows what i'm talking about especially computer games though no no no no if you play for too long

00:35:41.920 and your computer wasn't that sophisticated or good your computer the whole hard drive would like

00:35:45.560 yeah start to like overheat right that's a real thing 100 or how about another one um

00:35:50.240 playing on either like age of empires or sims or like whatever it was and like it malfunctioning

00:35:57.360 before you save or you can like log your progress right mom mom unplugging the nintendo before

00:36:04.560 well when when you were on like level eight of mario and there was no way to save or no way at all

00:36:11.180 boys mom telling you to pause the game when it's actually online and you're playing against other

00:36:16.040 people yeah i had numerous times beating a defeating a level super super mario and then forgetting to

00:36:24.900 save it and you shut it off and you go back you're like ah that's shameful so funny things we worried

00:36:30.700 about back then were just like so insignificant i miss i'll say this i don't know if any guys

00:36:34.900 remember this one i miss new music tuesdays does anyone else remember new music too so that was

00:36:39.680 when yeah albums would release on tuesdays right i think games still released on tuesdays a lot they

00:36:44.520 did at least when i was a kid i think god there's something um yeah so maybe that might have varied

00:36:48.840 now too a group of music and it was always tuesdays that would come out so you used to have like

00:36:53.580 these mini black friday type things where you'd go on i guess people still kind of do it for games

00:36:58.080 where you would come out for you know new music or you know a new album was dropping so um back when

00:37:04.300 music actually was like good and because that being said i did see creed again this week so

00:37:09.000 i'm trying to think of other rites of passage oh yeah knowing the dial-up sound is definitely a rite

00:37:14.560 of passage like not having super fast internet all the time definitely just having to sit remember

00:37:20.640 waiting for websites to load do you remember um asking friends for rides oh

00:37:25.860 uber existed wait wait charlie like what about asking directions and having to know directions

00:37:31.100 i i'm still really good at directions partially because you had to know where you were going

00:37:34.920 like this was before gps how about this how does it know when printing out map quest directions

00:37:39.360 printing it out we'll see i use that not the best i used to be cheap so i would just write it down

00:37:43.140 wait charlie were you around charlie were you i would go to map quest and then i would write

00:37:48.480 down the directions and then i just like bring my little note card with me what were you saying

00:37:52.220 blake charlie charlie you might be too young i once had a a journey where my parents made me actually

00:37:57.700 uh narrate the the turns to make on an actual physical map that we had purchased like with you

00:38:04.680 know the highways of america oh yeah no no all the time 100 i remember i remember i was living in

00:38:10.340 new jersey for two years when i was in junior high and my mom printed them out on map quest and was

00:38:15.180 going somewhere for my brother's football game and got so lost and turned around she like pulled

00:38:21.240 over in a gas station crying because she didn't know where to go or how to go anywhere she was like

00:38:27.100 completely lost like in any place i had no idea it makes you think like actually sorry i'm off for

00:38:33.600 is it a good thing or a bad thing we have the gps i mean in some ways like we're probably more

00:38:38.020 efficient when when china comes after us that's the first thing they're going for oh yeah number one 1.00

00:38:42.920 day one number it's it's that one and like all of our online banking yeah it's crazy how it used to

00:38:48.360 be yeah i don't know if you still have to do this but i know in uh london in the uk to become a cab

00:38:54.900 driver you used to have to maybe you still do but you had to pass this test called the knowledge

00:39:00.140 and it was basically you had to memorize the location of like 27 000 different things

00:39:07.120 in london and like people would like lose their minds attempting to pass this thing and

00:39:11.920 obviously you want to know still around it's obviously just a gate to yeah it's more difficult

00:39:16.900 to become a cab driver they've done they passed the bar i feel like they've done could use a little

00:39:22.140 bit of that they've done brain scans of cab drivers that have that have mastered the knowledge

00:39:26.840 and their hippoclamus which is the actual part of memory is bigger in their brain than the average

00:39:32.260 person and so in order for that to be true in order and this is actually so that's self-selecting

00:39:38.260 no no no in order for that to be true the one of two things are true either that these are people

00:39:42.160 with disproportionately big hippoclampuses that are coming into the taxi business or your brain can

00:39:48.980 change which is it was the most profound giant hippoclampuses no but but um sorry hippocampus

00:39:57.560 thank you it's the thing that was indelible in in blah in blasi ford's brain remember

00:40:03.080 indelible in the hippocampus however it is it was the most it was the most profound development

00:40:10.060 of neuroscience in the last 20 years discovery to show that your brain raw material can change

00:40:15.500 based on your environment and your circumstances potentially there is no other explanation there's

00:40:20.620 no way that people that have disproportionately active parts of the hippocampus all just want to

00:40:25.200 become taxi drivers right it's just that this is not a thing well no no the the idea would be then

00:40:29.300 that those are the only ones who can pass the test no again it's just it defies logic because it's

00:40:35.060 you're in the you're in the sub one set of the standard deviation right these people like just

00:40:40.440 happen to all want to become cab drivers no no way meaning that your brain can actually become better

00:40:45.100 at a certain task so it's applied so it's like a muscle that yeah actually let me find the study

00:40:49.120 it's super interesting so the more you work it was in sean astor's book called the happiness

00:40:54.300 advantage let me see here um so the idea being then the more you yeah the more you work it out

00:41:00.060 the same way like when you go to the gym and you're like i'm going to focus on whatever muscle

00:41:04.280 this is right here a taxi driver's knowledge is often linked to an enlarged hippocampus blah blah

00:41:09.240 blah key points and the study here shows about brain plasticities phenomenon demonstrates the brain's

00:41:14.380 ability to adapt and change based on the experience where the hippocampus can grow in response to

00:41:18.320 intensive spatial learning so so let's put this on the flip side then the fact that we're all using

00:41:23.020 gps now it makes us dumber is literally and unless unless you do what i do which is you try to re

00:41:29.360 you try to anticipate where the gps is taking you before because the gps is like ai it could be an

00:41:34.060 enhancement to you or it could just make you right totally check out well it's sometimes wrong well the

00:41:38.360 gps is wrong all the time yeah all the time all the time when mikey's driving i'm like why is it

00:41:41.700 taking us this way not that way yeah that's a good sign if you are fact checking your gps

00:41:45.280 you are getting actually i did this when we were driving around pennsylvania with my brother during

00:41:50.100 the election and we were uh we were driving from penn state to philadelphia and at one point it wanted

00:41:56.100 us to go on this road which would take us to baltimore and i was like why are we driving to

00:42:00.780 baltimore it's 83 south we need 76 east because we need to go to philadelphia because we're going to the

00:42:06.480 eagles game and now it eventually like picked up but i remember sitting there looking at it and it

00:42:13.440 was just it was just clearly wrong it's clearly wrong i put it in the chat the scientific american

00:42:17.040 okay i gotta dash you guys keep talking um happy thanksgiving everybody and you guys hold on the fort

00:42:23.100 happy thanksgiving charlie have a great thanksgiving charlie i i see that no i did not realize charlie

00:42:29.080 was such a a uh thanksgivophile charlie's missing out on the most important way his hatred of corn

00:42:36.360 i should do a thanksgiving dinner for charlie at m fest i completely agree charlie i actually think

00:42:42.220 that my favorite we'll put a turkey out my favorite holiday is thanksgiving it's the most american holiday

00:42:49.220 charlie's right about that it's by far the most american holiday it is i think it tops the fourth of

00:42:54.360 good it's a good one i do feel like american christmas might be better because it like so

00:43:00.680 clearly makes libs irate and in particular the fact that libs throughout history have repeatedly 0.96

00:43:08.540 attempted to kill christmas like the the the jerkhead puritans who won in the the more jerkish ones who won 1.00

00:43:16.340 the civil war in england like they tried to ban christmas yeah and wait blake but is it is it christian to 0.99

00:43:22.520 celebrate christmas it's not in the bible yeah yeah i know it's like weird right after charlie leaves

00:43:27.280 right after charlie leaves that's yeah that's like libs throughout history have tried to kill christmas

00:43:32.540 repeatedly and they can't they did actually ban it they did actually ban it in massachusetts i want to

00:43:38.340 say so yeah and like they fail christmas always comes back because normal people love christmas

00:43:42.600 because christmas is awesome i'm not disagreeing or arguing with you at all that's not my point i'm

00:43:46.900 trying to bring up but the one reason why i love thanksgiving and i think this is crazy for

00:43:52.300 people who have like multiple families they have to go visit so when you're married you have to go

00:43:55.980 see everybody's families and grandparents and cousins all that stuff and see everybody

00:44:00.980 for whatever reason christmas feels so much more stressful going and doing all that

00:44:06.720 and thanksgiving i mean you have basically the same amount of stops you have to arguably do even more

00:44:13.760 work i mean i i think thanksgiving is a lot of work like you have to yeah especially for the moms and

00:44:20.800 grandmas and everybody else is making food but it's just such a less stress-filled day i think

00:44:26.480 christmas feels way more i think a lot of people feel stressed out by christmas because they worry

00:44:30.300 they fret about giving their kids a perfect christmas yeah i don't think anyone frets about you know

00:44:35.260 giving their kid the perfect thanksgiving that's a huge yeah that's a huge part of stress that's a huge

00:44:40.380 stress for yeah i know uh for us like when it comes to christmas that's always definitely something

00:44:46.800 where going from like receiving christmas to being a parent when you are giving christmas

00:44:54.440 along with santa claus that you know as a parent you really have to work with santa

00:45:00.060 and there's a lot more that goes on as opposed to being a kid and you just sort of experience

00:45:05.760 christmas that um it is stressful it's definitely stressful and it's it's something that i've i've

00:45:12.760 noticed it's like one of the biggest differences of becoming you know becoming a parent or becoming

00:45:18.180 a father is that you you know and obviously we're not doing a christmas episode here but

00:45:22.100 yeah it's it's in order of magnitude higher than that for thanksgiving and on thanksgiving you don't

00:45:28.980 even have a say in helping you yeah i i typed in the chat i'm just surprised that black friday hasn't

00:45:34.760 been canceled you talked about canceling yeah yeah i think i think it there were a few efforts

00:45:41.280 i want to say there were probably a few efforts i i saw it kind of bubble up more than a few times

00:45:47.420 on and and by the way you see this um you see this pretty often where they'll say you know why is it

00:45:54.640 that a black hat in cowboy movies is associated with negative or darth vader is associated with negative

00:46:00.300 something in a movie and so the black color is associated with being negative whereas the you

00:46:06.120 know the white collar is all white hat is a good person and white and black etc and so they they'll

00:46:10.840 try to do that but it's just so ingrained in movies that there's not much you can do with it obviously

00:46:15.980 the new uh wicked movie that's um you know that's out right now which looks horrible um is like totally

00:46:22.700 you know totally a play on that as well with you know is the witch good or bad but of course they

00:46:27.400 instead of that they actually decided to racialize it as opposed to just leaving it how it is in the

00:46:31.700 book and musical so they added this whole other dimension to it and um you yeah you do see you do

00:46:37.960 see this come up with black friday every once in a while because they were they were just kind of

00:46:42.140 going for broke there in 2020 blake they were just trying to go after like anything they could think

00:46:47.160 of speaking of movies there's like no thanksgiving movies really should there be more could there be

00:46:54.180 more or do they just get eaten by yeah there totally should be more well there's um there's

00:46:57.340 planes trains and automobiles i think is like there's that one but other than that there's

00:47:01.600 just like there's there's the eli roth horror movie that i haven't seen and then there's some like

00:47:07.160 really bad b movies i saw last year thanks killing and thanks killing 2 according to wikipedia

00:47:13.480 the last of the mohicans thanks killing thanks killing 1 was terrible but thanks killing 2 actually 1.00

00:47:18.360 i feel like it rises above the subject material you revitalize the franchise there's really they just

00:47:24.160 they did a lot they they went in different directions that i didn't expect what about last

00:47:28.620 of the mohicans can we make that is that a is it thanksgiving themed no but you'd think there'd be 0.99

00:47:34.120 like a classic cartoon thanksgiving movie that's got like well you do you know what i mean like

00:47:39.760 there's a charlie brown one yeah that's like pretty og yeah charlie brown is like all you got but

00:47:45.640 that's not even a movie that's just like a special i'm now looking i'm looking now i guess

00:47:49.980 one thing about it is i think the thanksgiving the macy's parade displaces where you might

00:47:56.120 otherwise watch a watch a thanksgiving movie well also football also reminder there's a bunch of

00:48:01.280 movies that release on thanksgiving so people go watch true the the compilation of movies that are

00:48:07.280 coming out like i'm going with my family on friday to see moana 2 which we celebrate because

00:48:13.000 moana 1 came out in 2016 right after trump one and yeah i'm looking at the list of wikipedia doesn't

00:48:21.140 have a list of thanksgiving movies they just have a list of movies set around thanksgiving so apparently

00:48:27.440 like beethoven oh beethoven movie that was that was i think it was on the cover uh like because doesn't

00:48:35.400 like beethoven like get the turkey i don't i haven't seen beethoven in a long time paul blart

00:48:40.600 that's like again thanksgiving movie that is a scene yeah because there's a well no because there's

00:48:46.080 a um there's a uh black friday scene in it okay all right uh broke back mountain as a thanksgiving

00:48:54.400 movie apparently like what are you doing right now this is a bad bad decision blake a bad the blind

00:49:02.480 side oh no wait no there is there is that turkey movie there is that like the thanksgiving movie where

00:49:09.060 someone tried to make a turkey movie like a couple years ago free birds was it called it was just so

00:49:15.360 bad it was not good it's one of those low grade blue sky movies i think or whatever they made a

00:49:22.180 friendsgiving comedy oh turkey hollow we watched turkey hollow a couple years ago it was really weird

00:49:28.280 the big chill is that thanksgiving turkeys or the turkeys are like uh these like uh they live in the

00:49:35.100 woods and they're like half um you know fantastical creatures of some sort wait that's a jim henson movie

00:49:42.940 jim henson's turkey hollow yeah yeah well it must be just his company right because uh it's definitely

00:49:50.220 not a like thanksgiving wait wait wait wait we're missing the most obvious one that is always shows

00:49:58.360 on thanksgiving it's the miracle on 34th street is that a because it takes place around that's

00:50:03.560 obviously a christmas movie yeah that's the thing about it that's like like thanksgiving is eaten by

00:50:09.820 christmas yeah but it's a did you know jingle bells is a thanksgiving song yeah but but go back to to

00:50:15.460 that that's a traditional thanksgiving jingle bells is about traveling to visit someone on thanksgiving

00:50:20.540 and they've just made it a christmas song oh really yeah but it is apparently it is a thanksgiving song

00:50:26.060 where where were they living they need to slay for for thanksgiving i don't know probably there's

00:50:31.280 probably the same place where they were like the hotel people are still called chambermaids 0.63

00:50:35.560 canada yeah ooh ooh that's that's harsh wait didn't charlie say chambermaid on that one yeah

00:50:43.080 that's the point yeah a couple weeks exactly a while ago you've got mail as a thanksgiving movie

00:50:48.180 apparently what some of these are just since we were talking about okay just because a movie has a

00:50:55.340 scene in it which takes place in a certain you know you know there's like a turkey scene or

00:51:01.660 whatever that doesn't make it a movie about that unless the movie is 100 dedicated to um the holiday

00:51:10.480 then it is not a movie that belongs to that holiday well that's like that's like the debate over the

00:51:14.680 die hard is a christmas movie daily wire is not a christmas movie it is not it is not i agree on

00:51:19.820 that one we need daily wire to make a thanksgiving movie apparently oh dear what is it daily wire yeah

00:51:25.620 what is it what daily the daily wire ben shapiro ben shapiro's thanksgiving yeah

00:51:34.420 he's like it's like ben's in the kitchen he's so good

00:51:39.640 well he's like going through like the perfect cranberry mix

00:51:46.460 is it a lot oh man this is like oh wait wait we forgot to do we should have done one thing with

00:51:52.560 with charlie to end the end it all out so we'll have to um uh i would go so far as to say i'd love

00:51:58.060 to find a way to like edit this in if we could because we should all go around and say one thing

00:52:02.060 we're thankful for yeah i agree other than other than winning other than winning we can't say that

00:52:07.000 has to be like a personal thing because that's what we do with my family blake you can start oh no

00:52:13.380 no you're putting the pressure on me uh so i i'll start okay i'll start so actually my brother braxton

00:52:20.580 just had his his third child uh two days ago two days ago so braxton just had his third child which uh

00:52:30.700 were really excited about all was great and baby came out great we were worried because i went with

00:52:38.300 my brother to the asu game on saturday and my sister-in-law was a week overdue so he really

00:52:44.960 shouldn't have been maybe doing that but asu won she got induced on on sunday and uh and then they 1.00

00:52:54.660 named the baby tate and then they used my middle name storm so his name is tate storm boyer which is

00:53:02.300 my name is tyler storm where so so they named the baby kind of middle name i don't know if it's after

00:53:08.380 me but it's in the same name so very grateful okay babies i have a uh

00:53:16.780 if i wanted to be serious i can say it but it's it's i don't want to give away exactly um where i

00:53:24.680 live but there's this i'll just say there's this like christmas tradition um that has been going on

00:53:33.280 for just years and last year it got canceled because there was like a financial issue

00:53:38.780 and it um basically people just kind of rallied and the whole community came together and was like

00:53:46.280 no and it was a kid's thing and it was like we're you know we're totally going to save this and it's

00:53:50.520 going to come back next year it's going to be amazing and it we totally did and i threw a bunch

00:53:55.920 of money in and it's back and it just started and the kids love it and it's amazing so i'm just

00:54:02.160 really happy for that really thankful that that worked out because we thought we were going to

00:54:06.160 lose this thing and i i couldn't even tell you what it is it's just it's just a thing that kids

00:54:10.380 do every uh every year and they can go to and it came back and it was awesome and it is awesome and

00:54:16.040 it will continue to be awesome for a long time it's going to be bigger now i think than ever because

00:54:20.400 uh you know closing down and it's sort of like uh you know a local landmark and there was um you know

00:54:25.340 just like this this stupid thing that happened last year and uh it was cool to see people do that

00:54:30.540 and it's just great because i can see that with my kids and then i can take them to see it as well 0.75

00:54:36.820 and and see that tradition keep going i love that and also of course for saquon barkley so i'm very

00:54:42.460 very thankful for saquon barkley and the eagles oh yeah i am thankful mvp mvp i am thankful that uh

00:54:51.360 tomorrow as of when or wait no two days from now as of when we're recording this i forgot what day it

00:54:56.220 was that the neff family my parents my brother my two sisters their spouses their children will

00:55:03.900 assemble for thanksgiving there will be trying to do the math in my head but quite a few number of

00:55:10.780 people and there will be no libs no libs and no steak and no steak so it will be all all proper

00:55:19.840 all proper forms will be observed you won't have a single lib in your house no libs wow

00:55:26.300 same here the neff family even i have a few libs in my house yeah exactly see we we very great i'll

00:55:33.680 say this how big is the gathering of people well like i said it's pretty i mean it even i mean in

00:55:39.580 the past we would have had more satellite branches of the family but even even if we added those in it

00:55:44.720 would still be the case but wow maybe like one shaky person who like voted for obama in a moment

00:55:50.600 of weakness or something but like definitely with the with the core ones like my parents lucked out

00:55:56.280 they had four kids and none of them like went to college and were suddenly like i realized all my

00:56:02.240 immediate family is is is super conservative yeah there's some there's some questionable so like

00:56:07.200 extended but like all the marriages are good the kids are good so far although the oldest is like

00:56:12.320 the oldest grandbaby is like four so i guess you know no no lib tendency i would we haven't we haven't

00:56:19.680 really talked about this but you know the whole like libs and conservatives getting it for thanksgiving

00:56:25.120 i'm for it i'm all for it um the there are several liberal members of the uh extended pozo family and uh

00:56:34.000 and on on other people's sides who um basically just won't come um to thanksgiving anymore and it's sad

00:56:41.200 and i think it sucks and i think because of you bigger politics um no no no it's it's just because

00:56:49.120 they refuse to be around trump supporters they just will will not you know sit down and break bread with 0.95

00:56:56.320 someone who could support that man and it's it's horrible you know i mean and i think it's just really

00:57:01.200 sad that um that they would do that and it's you know but at the same time it's like you know if they

00:57:06.640 ever wanted to come back there's no um no hard feelings i mean we just we just would love to get

00:57:11.760 the family back together again it's not even not even something we're mad about we just uh just think

00:57:15.920 it'd be really cool for my my kids to be able to see that side of the family really great so open

00:57:21.280 invitation not that you're watching thought crime but it's always open 100 always open i think oh and
