00:00:00.480 Well, ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard today's edition of Human Events Daily, powered by Turning Point USA.
00:00:05.260 Today is Friday, March 24th, 2023.
00:00:08.180 I don't dominate.
00:00:09.460 Today's top headline, Paris is burning.
00:00:11.940 This has been going on all week, but we're going to cover it today.
00:00:14.020 Next, the U.S. carrying out airstrikes in Syria, because apparently we have a base there.
00:00:18.820 And finally, Governor DeSantis denies Guantanamo torture.
00:00:23.240 I know a little about that.
00:00:24.540 So we're going to get into all this and we're ahead to Human Events Daily.
00:00:27.120 I want to take a second to remind you to sign up for the Poso Daily Brief.
00:00:31.000 It is completely free.

00:00:40.560 Go to humanevents.com slash pozo.
00:00:42.820 Sign up today.
00:00:44.060 It's called the Poso Daily Brief.
00:00:45.760 Read what I read for show prep.
00:00:47.340 You will not regret it.
00:00:49.000 Humanevents.com slash pozo.
00:00:50.640 Totally free.
00:00:51.380 The Poso Daily Brief.
00:00:57.120 We are in a jungle and we have two big elephants trying to become more and more nervous.
00:01:09.560 If they become very nervous and start war, it will be a big problem for the rest of the jungle.
00:01:16.000 You need cooperation of a lot of other animals.
00:01:20.840 Tigers, monkeys, and so on.
00:01:27.520 Are you on the US and the Chinese side?
00:01:30.420 Because now, progressively, a lot of people would like to see there are two orders in this world.
00:01:37.720 This is a huge mistake.
00:01:40.480 Even for both the US and China.
00:01:42.560 We need a single global order.
00:01:48.020 A single global order.
00:01:51.460 So Emmanuel Macron, who's no fan of mine since I leaked his emails in 2017.
00:01:57.660 Go back and check it out.
00:01:58.600 Hashtag Macron leaks.
00:02:00.340 Has a lot of trouble on his hands right now.
00:02:02.560 And the people of France have been rioting throughout the streets like this thing is Les Mis with Antifa going off because apparently the French government is trying to use special constitutional powers to force through an unpopular pension bill without a vote.
00:02:24.860 So he's acting like a king himself, Mr. Macron, Mr. Macron over there in France because he's trying to raise the age of retirement when you would get a pension in France.
00:02:41.480 These riots have been so bad that King Charles has now delayed his state visit to France amid the wave of riots, protests, and violence.
00:02:55.080 So let me read.
00:02:55.880 In Paris, tear gas and water cannons have been fired at protesters and police have been injured.
00:03:00.920 The French government last week announced that it was going to be postponing this.
00:03:03.740 But you look at some of this stuff, the gendarmes burning garbage cans, the protesters being hit.
00:03:09.180 They're saying, oh, it's all just pension reform.
00:03:10.980 It's all great.
00:03:11.400 And this is, by the way, this is the issue that Margaret Thatcher, of course, famously stated.
00:03:18.540 The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.
00:03:22.300 And that's what's happening in France.
00:03:23.440 And even in places like France.
00:03:26.380 So you've got to understand, Emmanuel Macron, and this came out in the emails, that anyone can go read them, by the way.
00:03:31.860 You have to translate it from French.
00:03:34.160 Very, very upset with me when I posted this.
00:03:37.900 Many people said that I'd be arrested if I ever went back to France.
00:03:40.940 Well, I did, actually.
00:03:42.400 So, you know, no, not going to happen.
00:03:43.960 So, this guy has always been in Emmanuel Macron.
00:03:50.280 He's always been in the back pocket of the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, the big bankers.
00:03:57.400 He is their man.
00:03:59.340 He is their guy.
00:04:00.200 He's always been their guy.
00:04:03.580 He's, you know, I would say the big bankers because he's not exactly the biggest banker himself.
00:04:08.240 He's only about 5'8".
00:04:09.420 So, not great.
00:04:11.260 Remember, he was always tied in with the investment banks.
00:04:14.580 What did he work for?
00:04:15.300 Oh, inspector of finances that he left from the government in 2008, he then took a position at Rothschild and Seabank.
00:04:24.180 His first responsibility at Rothschild and Seabank was assisting in the acquisition of Cofitis by Credit Mutuelle Nord Europe.
00:04:32.960 He then had this relationship with people who worked at Le Monde.
00:04:36.820 He was using this.
00:04:37.700 Again, he's been running through all of these banks all the way up until 2012 when he decided to become, decided to be, get involved in politics.
00:04:48.580 So, when we look at this guy, when we understand that he's instrumental in bringing France along the path of the World Economic Forum, bringing along Western Europe through the Great Reset, bringing eventually China into, into Europe,
00:05:05.720 because they want China to be the manufacturing base.
00:05:08.600 They understand that this is the way the trade is going to go.
00:05:11.680 They have no ability whatsoever, whatsoever, to have any actual manufacturing of their own.
00:05:18.700 And so, instead of doing anything for the people, what's Macron doing?
00:05:25.000 He's decided to attack them.
00:05:26.300 And keep in mind, these images, and we saw this before with the gilets jaunes.
00:05:29.720 We saw this, that was the yellow vests, when they were protesting during the lockdowns, the vaccine mandates.
00:05:34.780 We saw it so many times in France.
00:05:36.480 If these images were coming out of Russia, if this was coming out of Moscow, if this was coming out of St. Petersburg, it was coming from Hong Kong, if they were coming from Beijing or Shanghai,
00:05:47.440 the world media would be demonizing it.
00:05:49.960 They would be saying, how can you treat your own citizens like this?
00:05:53.120 But because it's France, because it's Macron, because he's one of the good boys, one of the good little boys,
00:05:59.340 we are going to have our own world power here very soon, right?
00:06:05.600 They don't say a word.
00:06:07.120 They have no problem when Macron does it.
00:06:08.880 They have no issue whatsoever.
00:06:10.860 Because Emmanuel, five foot eight, little Manny, he's a good little boy for them.
00:06:18.700 And that's all he is.
00:06:20.600 I mean, you look at some of the violence, you look at some of the insanity that's going on here throughout France.
00:06:27.280 Massive protest, democracy at stake on France 24.
00:06:32.360 There's actually, and you know, we're not, we are not co-signing any of this, and I don't co-sign any,
00:06:38.140 but they're burning effigies of Emmanuel Macron there.
00:06:41.260 Because the people of France, at the end of the day, don't want to, sure, the Antifa guys lock them up, obviously.
00:06:49.940 But the people of France don't want socialism.
00:06:53.080 They don't want to be a vassal state of the World Economic Forum and their Chinese paymasters.
00:06:59.860 They don't want this.
00:07:01.080 They don't want to be part of the economic soup of Western capital and the Chinese Communist Party.
00:07:07.680 They want to be a nation state.
00:07:08.660 They want to be France.
00:07:09.400 You go and look at France, one of the great nations of the world, and they understand that they are becoming weaker and weaker.
00:07:18.320 So, yeah, you can go sing La Marseille.
00:07:21.040 You can go and eat your baguettes and your escargot.
00:07:24.340 But at the end of the day, you will still be subservient to the Chinese Communist Party
00:07:30.860 and everything that the World Economic Forum institutes, as long as you have that regime.
00:07:36.420 Look, every single day you see a new story in the news about someone who is the victim of violent crimes.
00:07:42.100 Some of them you think you might be ready to defend yourselves against evil.
00:07:45.840 The truth is you're probably not.
00:07:47.480 That's only possible if you train often.
00:07:50.300 But with inflation causing the price of ammo to skyrocket along with gas, getting to the range isn't as easy or affordable as it used to be.
00:07:56.600 Thankfully, there's a better way to train with your firearm in the comfort and privacy of your own home, and it's called iTarget Pro.
00:08:02.700 I love this system.
00:08:03.640 You've got to use it.
00:08:04.240 It is revolutionary, develops muscle memory, reaction speed, sight alignment, trigger control, so much more.
00:08:09.820 Even better, it costs less than a day at the range.
00:08:12.680 Right now, you can save 10% plus free shipping with promo code POSO.
00:08:16.820 When you go there to iTargetPro.com, get yours, download the iTarget bullet, load the laser bullet into your firearm, and start training.
00:08:24.700 iTarget comes in most calibers from 9mm all the way up to .223, so you can train with almost any firearm.
00:08:30.500 This is the most easy and cost-effective way to train, and it pays for itself in just one day.
00:08:35.720 Just one try.
00:08:36.960 iTargetPro, letter I, TargetPro.com, promo code POSO.
00:08:39.660 It is not appropriate to put Americans at risk.
00:08:46.960 Often our Americans are guarding these oil fields where the Iranians are sending kamikaze drones,
00:08:53.320 and I am shocked that we have not had escalatory accident or even more casualties for our U.S. service members.
00:09:01.260 And so if this is all one big Georgetown School of Foreign Service essay exam about great power competition in Syria,
00:09:09.180 you go tell that to the parents of the Americans who have to sleep tonight in Syria,
00:09:15.340 who have to guard oil fields with Iranian drones coming at them,
00:09:18.840 that they are necessary to preserve the balance of power.
00:09:21.500 That is not true.
00:09:23.700 The Kurds have an opportunity to pave their path.
00:09:27.360 Let's pave ours.
00:09:28.280 And if we're so worried about threats to the homeland,
00:09:31.480 how about we actually focus on our true point of vulnerability,
00:09:34.980 which is not the emergence of some caliphate.
00:09:37.780 It's the fact that terrorists are crossing our southern border on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
00:09:44.560 So that was Matt Gaetz just a couple of weeks ago,
00:09:48.020 delivering a speech, an impassioned speech, as Matt Gaetz always does,
00:09:52.940 the floor of the House,
00:09:53.740 demanding that the United States draw down our presence in eastern Syria.
00:10:00.520 Did you know, by the way, that the United States has a base and maintains a base in eastern Syria?
00:10:06.520 Why is it there?
00:10:08.160 What is the purpose of that base?
00:10:10.280 Because we were told originally, initially,
00:10:12.620 it's all about ISIS, it's all about ISIS.
00:10:14.220 Okay, so President Trump goes in and cleans out ISIS.
00:10:16.480 Now there's no more ISIS, or at least not anything meaningful to speak of.
00:10:19.560 So, Gaetz predicted that those troops and the contractors were sitting ducks
00:10:27.760 for anyone in the region who wanted to take a shot at them,
00:10:30.480 or were told that there was a drone attack that was conducted by Iran,
00:10:35.520 or Iranian-backed forces, on this base.
00:10:38.400 Killed one American.
00:10:39.020 So, of course, we respond, we retaliate with strikes on their bases,
00:10:45.300 back and forth, and on and on, the whole thing goes.
00:10:48.860 And guess what?
00:10:49.880 Who just brokered a peace deal between Iran and Saudi Arabia?
00:10:56.780 Oh, right, it was China.
00:10:58.920 Who is now brokering a new peace deal and the restoration of relations between Syria,
00:11:05.660 Syria, who has always been, Syria has always been pro-Iran,
00:11:09.500 but between Syria and Saudi Arabia.
00:11:11.980 Saudi Arabia, who was also working with the Obama administration,
00:11:15.920 Operation Timber Sycamore, to try to overthrow Assad,
00:11:20.020 who is the ruler of Syria, the leader of Syria, whatever you want to call it.
00:11:24.580 Okay?
00:11:26.060 That's also China.
00:11:27.800 China is backstopping all of this.
00:11:29.820 And the United States is essentially being told,
00:11:34.160 what are you doing in our neighborhood?
00:11:37.620 Now, here's part of the interesting moral piece of this, right?
00:11:41.860 When you want to talk about the moral piece of it.
00:11:44.420 Not that, when you're talking about geopolitics, that, you know,
00:11:48.260 it's always, of course, Churchill of Petrol, right?
00:11:50.220 So, in geopolitics, you have to look for the gas and energy.
00:11:54.340 Why is the U.S. there?
00:11:55.300 Because there's oil fields right there on this.
00:11:58.460 This is the border crossing between Syria and Iraq.
00:12:00.960 And hopefully, we can do a map break to explain to people where Al-Tanf is
00:12:06.080 directly on the border, the border crossing between Syria and Iraq.
00:12:11.840 But why is there a U.S. base there, you ask?
00:12:14.940 Why would the U.S. be there?
00:12:17.420 When they say, oh, well, we were welcomed in by some members of the opposition,
00:12:24.320 and therefore, it's legal for the United States to be there,
00:12:28.960 not to attack ISIS, but to prevent the opposition from falling.
00:12:34.080 It's like, so we're backing a proxy force and have set up this land in eastern Syria.
00:12:43.700 And yet, at the same time that we're doing that,
00:12:46.960 and the Syrian government obviously decries it as illegal,
00:12:50.240 we will turn around and attack Russia for doing the same thing,
00:12:56.280 obviously on a much larger scale, in eastern Ukraine.
00:13:00.320 So it's one of those things where, and I make a point to this.
00:13:04.120 I mean, there's a point I'm making here.
00:13:05.740 And I was having the discussion with Libby Emmons earlier.
00:13:08.180 We were talking about the coverage on this for humanevents.com,
00:13:12.540 was the idea is, if we are going to sit there and always claim the moral high ground,
00:13:19.420 which is what Biden does, which is what Blinken does, Jake Sullivan,
00:13:22.260 anytime they're out there, if we're going to claim the moral high ground on Ukraine,
00:13:26.480 and we're going to say that we're backing Ukraine because they were invaded by Russia,
00:13:33.300 Russia can just turn around and say, well, we back Syria because you invaded them.
00:13:40.160 Do you understand that this is a problem?
00:13:42.920 You've actually taken a point where you're trying to act like you are the world police,
00:13:49.120 that you have the moral high ground, whereas Russia points out,
00:13:51.800 or has the ability to point out, I don't know if they have, that you're not there for that purpose.
00:13:56.800 You're there for the purpose of oil.
00:13:58.240 You're there for the purpose of furthering American interest.
00:14:01.400 You don't actually care about the Kurds.
00:14:02.900 You don't care about the homes governate.
00:14:05.080 You don't care about the opposition.
00:14:06.700 You want Kurdistan to exist so that the United States and U.S. energy companies
00:14:11.780 have access to the oil fields in that part of Syria.
00:14:16.440 That's it.
00:14:17.700 That's the entire point.
00:14:18.880 And, of course, the U.S. will never just come out and say that.
00:14:23.400 U.S. will never admit that.
00:14:24.900 They'll play these games and say, oh, no, it's because of international norms,
00:14:30.300 and it's because of pressures and the rules.
00:14:33.240 No.
00:14:33.800 It's very obvious what happened.
00:14:35.400 Go back and look up Operation Timber Sycamore, a $1 billion scheme,
00:14:42.660 a covert operation that was conducted.
00:14:44.640 It was initially set up by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
00:14:47.620 Barack Obama signed off on this, where moderate jihadis,
00:14:53.680 you might remember that phrase from Senator McCain,
00:14:56.780 and by the way, Rubio and Lindsey Graham and all these guys were in on it as well,
00:14:59.540 the same way they were in on Libya, same way they were in on Ukraine in those days,
00:15:02.280 right around the same time period,
00:15:03.480 where they said that they would arm, fund, and train these moderate jihadists
00:15:11.360 in order to overthrow or affect the overthrow of Assad.
00:15:16.100 Well, guess what?
00:15:18.320 Assad's still there.
00:15:20.100 And the U.S. forces are hanging on,
00:15:22.600 pretending that the United States is still this global empire
00:15:25.560 that has the ability to affect change and have influence in the Middle East
00:15:31.100 the way they did throughout the 1980s and 90s.
00:15:33.000 But you know what?
00:15:33.620 It ain't happening, and it's just not going to happen.
00:15:36.760 So what you're seeing now is the United States be pushed out of Syria,
00:15:41.000 be pushed out of Afghanistan, as it was, be pushed out of Iraq.
00:15:46.780 And rather than actually come to terms with any of these things,
00:15:50.680 you've got people like Biden that are demanding that our U.S. soldiers,
00:15:55.420 that our troops, that our citizens stay there in harm's way
00:15:59.540 while they're selling them out on the world stage.
00:16:01.760 Well, they are sitting there saying,
00:16:03.660 we're just watching China do all these things.
00:16:05.820 We're watching Iran do this.
00:16:07.260 We're watching all of it happen.
00:16:08.600 And then we act so surprised.
00:16:10.460 We act so surprised when our people get attacked,
00:16:14.020 when our citizens get killed.
00:16:16.100 Well, why was it that Congressman Gates was able to predict that this would happen?
00:16:21.660 Because he's paying attention, and we all need to be paying attention.
00:16:24.900 You know something, Biden?
00:16:26.000 You know something, Joe Biden?
00:16:27.220 We're paying very, very close attention to you right now
00:16:30.420 because we understand that you're asleep at the wheel.
00:16:33.740 Folks, make sure that you are subscribing to us on the podcast side.
00:16:38.020 Make sure you're subscribing to Rumble.
00:16:40.120 You need to make sure that you tune in to Human Events Daily every day.
00:16:43.480 One of the things they said was that you authorize the use of force feeding.
00:16:50.440 That's not true.
00:16:51.200 Yeah, that's not true.
00:16:52.460 Any of the stuff that people-
00:16:53.600 Just to finish it, force feeding the detainees who were on hunger strike.
00:16:57.560 Was that true?
00:16:58.720 So I was a junior officer.
00:17:00.620 I didn't have authority to authorize anything.
00:17:02.680 There may have been a commander that would have done feeding if someone was going to die,
00:17:07.260 but that was not something that I would have even had authority to do.
00:17:09.920 So that's wrong.
00:17:11.040 Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
00:17:12.760 Force feeding at Guantanamo Bay.
00:17:15.500 Did Ron DeSantis, while he was down at Guantanamo Bay as a lawyer,
00:17:21.400 as a judge, advocate general, authorize the torture?
00:17:25.120 Was Ron DeSantis waterboarding terrorists down at Gitmo?
00:17:29.100 Yeah, that's definitely not going to help him out on a national stage,
00:17:32.840 or certainly in a primary.
00:17:34.380 Was he doing this?
00:17:35.400 Was he conducting these violations of human rights, the torture,
00:17:41.020 the abject torture of so many good and upstanding detainees at Guantanamo Bay?
00:17:48.940 Yeah.
00:17:50.500 Let me explain what's going on here.
00:17:52.580 So Governor DeSantis, prior to obviously running for office,
00:17:59.360 was a Navy lawyer, also known as a JAG.
00:18:02.580 And at one point, when he was stationed in Jacksonville,
00:18:05.360 he did some rotations through Guantanamo Bay.
00:18:07.480 It was back like 2006.
00:18:08.960 So I was deployed to Guantanamo Bay six years later in 2012.
00:18:12.900 So my dates were 2012, 2013,
00:18:14.800 as working in the interrogation cell as interrogator analyst.
00:18:18.580 So this whole notion of force feeding at Guantanamo is honestly,
00:18:29.500 and by the way, of course, I don't think that's,
00:18:32.520 and he's right, by the way,
00:18:33.600 he's answering Pierce's question directly
00:18:36.040 and saying that he didn't authorize this,
00:18:38.180 which is true that as a low-level officer like he was,
00:18:40.820 he wouldn't have necessarily authorized any of this.
00:18:43.680 But would he have seen it?
00:18:45.620 Would he have watched it?
00:18:46.720 Because guess what?
00:18:48.160 I have.
00:18:49.560 I have seen the force feeding at Guantanamo Bay.
00:18:52.180 There were hunger strikes that were going on
00:18:53.940 when I was there, January of 2013.
00:18:56.540 The detainees were very upset that Barack Obama,
00:18:59.820 who had just won his re-election
00:19:01.720 to President of the United States,
00:19:03.260 did not mention Gitmo in his State of the Union.
00:19:07.340 They didn't, he didn't mention it during his,
00:19:09.760 you know, like anything around the time
00:19:11.500 of him being inaugurated again,
00:19:13.400 and it was inauguration speech.
00:19:14.380 And they basically felt that he lied
00:19:16.560 about shutting down Guantanamo,
00:19:17.920 so they went on hunger strike.
00:19:19.900 And there was a whole deal.
00:19:21.480 Senator John McCain came down,
00:19:23.440 Senator Dianne Feinstein,
00:19:26.440 Dennis McDonough, who was the chief of staff,
00:19:28.660 two, Barack Obama, all came down,
00:19:30.280 and I'm in the briefing room briefing them.
00:19:31.940 John McCain was a complete douchebag during that.
00:19:34.720 But during this period, at one point,
00:19:38.640 while I was working, doing my job,
00:19:41.380 going in and out of the camps,
00:19:42.880 I actually was privy to watching the feeding,
00:19:48.300 the tube feeding,
00:19:49.740 of one of the detainees who was force-fed.
00:19:55.360 Okay, so here's how it works.
00:19:56.760 In, in the feeding,
00:20:00.180 it's actually not called force-feeding.
00:20:04.040 So there's an actual medical unit
00:20:06.580 that is, that is stationed at Guantanamo Bay.
00:20:09.360 And it's all trained,
00:20:10.240 it's all trained medics and corpsmen on the Navy side.
00:20:13.360 So it's Army medics, Navy corpsmen.
00:20:15.300 When I was there, it was Navy.
00:20:16.980 And they would kind of like take off pieces of it.
00:20:20.520 That, what it's done,
00:20:22.240 it's basically a feeding tube.
00:20:23.540 It's a feeding tube, enteral nutrition.
00:20:26.220 You can go in the Mayo Clinic and look this up.
00:20:28.020 This is a basic procedure
00:20:30.240 that is done in hospitals
00:20:32.500 all across the country every single day.
00:20:35.340 If you get in an accident,
00:20:36.640 if you're having surgery,
00:20:37.880 if there's an issue with digestive tract,
00:20:39.500 an issue with your esophagus,
00:20:41.820 an issue with your mouth,
00:20:43.120 anything to do with the various biological systems
00:20:46.940 or medical problems you could have,
00:20:48.260 medical issues,
00:20:49.300 enteral feeding or tube feeding.
00:20:50.500 I think everybody at coma patients get this.
00:20:52.320 Uh, everybody knows this is something
00:20:54.820 that is done routinely.
00:20:56.080 If you say, well, it's just a feeding tube.
00:20:57.860 Okay.
00:20:58.260 And that's all it is.
00:20:59.580 Okay.
00:21:00.040 That's, that's literally all it is.
00:21:01.940 It is a feeding tube that,
00:21:04.340 yes, it is.
00:21:05.200 Guess what?
00:21:05.600 It's inserted in your nose.
00:21:06.920 That's right.
00:21:07.920 And it's the same way that's inserted
00:21:09.340 for pretty much every patient who gets one.
00:21:11.960 Why?
00:21:12.480 That's so you don't accidentally bite it.
00:21:14.320 Okay.
00:21:14.740 Because people, you move around a little bit,
00:21:16.920 especially if you were in a state of unconsciousness,
00:21:20.020 if you're, um, anesthetized.
00:21:22.700 So the idea is that, or in this case,
00:21:24.980 because you might want,
00:21:26.320 you might not want the feed.
00:21:28.240 So yeah, you might bite the tube.
00:21:29.720 So it goes through the nose.
00:21:31.240 It's lubricated.
00:21:31.880 It's a little, you know, a little deal.
00:21:33.520 And then it's like a protein shake
00:21:35.180 and they put a protein shake in
00:21:37.100 and they, they finished when they,
00:21:39.560 like one of the little bottles.
00:21:40.940 Um, I got a, I got a jar of Mentos here.
00:21:42.860 It's about, about that size.
00:21:44.740 And, you know, it's not like they chuck,
00:21:47.980 you know, they pour it all the way down at once.
00:21:49.520 It's just, you know, a little bit here and there.
00:21:51.020 It's very, very gradual.
00:21:53.060 And I don't recall ever seeing anyone be upset.
00:21:58.300 I never recall, you know, nobody was like,
00:22:00.080 they're not like screaming and losing their minds
00:22:02.780 or anything like that.
00:22:03.660 They're basically just sitting there
00:22:05.480 and you can go on the Mayo Clinic's website.
00:22:09.080 You can go on mayoclinic.org and just look up
00:22:11.420 enteral nutrition, also known as tube feeding
00:22:14.160 is a way of delivering nutrition
00:22:15.620 directly to your stomach or stall intestine.
00:22:17.620 Your doctor might recommend tube feeding
00:22:19.380 if you can't eat enough to get the nutrients you need.
00:22:23.420 It can also occur.
00:22:25.180 This is such a simple procedure
00:22:27.260 that it can even be something
00:22:30.160 that the doctor just hands you the tube
00:22:32.220 and says, hey, do this at home
00:22:33.720 because you don't even need to do it in the hospital.
00:22:36.340 That's how simple of a treatment it is.
00:22:38.540 They can, you can literally do this over the counter
00:22:40.620 in the safety and comfort.
00:22:42.880 You don't even need a doctor to do it.
00:22:44.600 They can just teach people to do this.
00:22:46.260 And you can go on YouTube and watch,
00:22:48.100 you know, watch videos of like girls just, just doing it.
00:22:50.960 I remember seeing this one video.
00:22:51.900 This girl was like, yeah, I had surgery.
00:22:53.620 I did it.
00:22:54.140 It's really not that bad.
00:22:55.800 You guys are playing it out
00:22:56.880 to be something that it's not
00:22:58.020 because I understand politically, of course,
00:23:00.000 you know, it's, it's very easy to use that.
00:23:01.800 And so the only thing that I would have said differently
00:23:04.660 than Governor DeSantis
00:23:06.060 in that interview with Piers Morgan
00:23:08.240 is to say, well, that's, that's, you know,
00:23:10.060 you, you, you said you're trying to make it out
00:23:11.800 that I, um, that I authorized torture,
00:23:14.260 but that wasn't torture.
00:23:15.400 It's not, it's simply not.
00:23:17.160 And you got to stand up for when,
00:23:19.680 when someone pushes on you like that,
00:23:21.160 you don't just deny it.
00:23:22.440 You actually have to stand up and say,
00:23:24.000 no, this, um,
00:23:26.060 this isn't what you're saying it is.
00:23:27.600 I completely refuse to accept your frame.
00:23:30.320 I refuse to accept your premise.
00:23:32.260 So don't accept the media's premise.
00:23:34.780 Don't accept the media's frame.
00:23:36.700 And by the way, stand up for what you've done, right?
00:23:39.200 Stand up for your own record.
00:23:40.940 Stand up for those of us that came behind you.
00:23:43.120 Stand up for those who came before you
00:23:44.520 and understand this was a simple procedure that,
00:23:48.500 oh, by the way, it kept them alive.
00:23:50.580 It literally kept them alive.
00:23:52.400 The people that you're claiming that we mistreated,
00:23:54.700 the people that you're claiming,
00:23:55.840 oh, you're a part of this mistreat.
00:23:57.000 No, it actually kept them alive.
00:23:58.240 And by the way, we were ordered to do so
00:23:59.860 by the president of the United States.
00:24:00.820 In my case, that was Barack Obama.
00:24:02.960 So yeah, it was Barack Obama and the White House
00:24:05.280 who said, we don't want people committing suicide
00:24:07.600 in prison on our watch at Guantanamo Bay
00:24:10.380 while you're there.
00:24:11.040 So keep them alive and do what you have to do.
00:24:13.000 So yeah, more than happy to say, guess what?
00:24:15.780 I followed those orders.
00:24:16.880 And no, I don't think there's a moral issue
00:24:18.940 with those orders whatsoever.
00:24:21.620 So there's your response, media, to anybody.
00:24:26.400 And feel free, feel free to check out my,
00:24:29.320 in my interview right here.
00:24:31.940 I'd be happy to stand by this.
00:24:33.340 I'll stand by it for the rest of my life.
00:24:36.200 Put me on a lie detector, do whatever you can.
00:24:38.620 But you know what?
00:24:39.540 E-feeding, it's just not force-feeding.
00:24:41.120 It's not force-feeding and it's not torture.
00:24:43.160 And I'm going to stand up for everybody
00:24:45.380 in the intelligence community and the rest
00:24:47.980 that conducted this procedure
00:24:50.080 and did so in order to defend
00:24:51.860 the national security of the United States of America.
00:24:53.520 Ladies and gentlemen,
00:24:54.340 you have my permission to lay ashore.
