The Catholic Church has a new leader, and for the first time in history, it s an American-born pope. The first trade deal of President Donald Trump s second term opens up the market for U.S. beef and ethanol, while the U.K. drops its 25% tariff on fancy British cars like Land Rover to 10% for every 100,000 cars sold. The father of the teen who police say shot and killed two people at a Wisconsin school is under arrest, now charged with contributing to the delinquency of a child and providing a dangerous weapon to a person under 18. George Simeone, a right-wing candidate, has won the first round of a rerun presidential election in Romania with over 40% of the vote, and will face the centrist mayor of Bucharest, Nicu Sordani, in the next round of the elections.

00:03:03.280I won in the first round with 41% of the ballots against 21% of the mayor of Bucharest, the pro-LGBT guy who had a platform saying we are basically giving money to Ukraine in order to assure that Romania remains safe.
00:03:27.120We don't believe, we don't believe in this, we don't believe in escalating anywhere, we believe in our strategic partnership with the U.S., with our American friends, and we believe in sovereignty.
00:03:39.020So this is my ticket for democracy, for giving back the power to the people, and it's about the rule of law.
00:03:50.380They always used this phrase, the rule of law, the constitutional order.
00:03:55.080We are fighting for the constitutional order, this meaning the power of the people to vote and not to be humiliated like they were in December 2024.
00:04:07.540Well, and we saw in the United States, we heard this phrase again and again, no one is above the law, no one is above the law.
00:04:14.660And then time and again, these same forces would then use that law to arrest Donald Trump, to raid his home with federal agents, to come up with crazy accusations and cases against him, claiming his loans were out of date, claiming all of this was out of date.
00:04:33.980And it was always a complete nonsense, and the American people saw through it, and they fought through the law fair.
00:04:40.480And I certainly pray that the Romanian people also see through the corruption that's going on here, so that they can have a truly free country and a free and fair election.
