00:07:27.000 So I've read some of the reports out there talking about how Cardinal Burke and others moved to block this Bergoglio wing of installing a real progressive,
00:07:40.880 and that really this idea of a bridge between both camps has emerged, and that was the election of Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV.
00:07:54.000 What have you heard, what are you hearing, and what are your thoughts?
00:07:58.520 Well, we've had Pope Francis for 12 years, and he had appointed 108 of the 133 electors.
00:08:06.000 So going in, it was going to look progressive.
00:08:09.080 It was going to look liberal, and the key candidate for the liberal progressives was Cardinal Parolin,
00:08:15.360 who's the Secretary of the State of the Vatican.
00:08:17.020 And it seemed almost impossible to undo that, and yet here we are a week later, and we have Pope Leo XIV.
00:08:27.660 And how did this happen?
00:08:29.020 Well, it appears that in the first few ballots, Cardinal Parolin could not get anything close to even a 50% majority.
00:08:37.020 And that, I think, is due to conservatives and moderates linking together to block that vote.
00:08:45.300 It takes 45 votes in this last election to block a candidate.
00:08:48.600 They were successful in doing that.
00:08:50.040 Once that happens, the Cardinals have to look around because you need a two-thirds majority to elect a pope, not a 51%, a two-thirds.
00:08:57.740 And at the end of the day, they needed someone who could maybe shave away some of those votes from Parolin
00:09:05.640 and join the American Cardinals, join the Asians, join the Africans, join the conservatives in Europe.
00:09:13.680 And that candidate was Cardinal Prevost.
00:09:16.720 And he's already done many symbolic gestures that many people don't recognize.
00:09:21.000 The way he came out on the balcony is in line with the traditional attire of the popes.
00:09:26.460 He said the blessing in Latin hasn't been said since 1939.
00:09:34.420 Many, many signals, his pectoral cross, him taking up residence in the papal apartments, signaling a change, a break with Pope Francis.
00:09:45.840 And many Catholics, myself included, around the world are just so hopeful and so delighted that we perhaps are going to see a renewal in the Catholic Church.
00:09:59.360 And he's American.
00:10:01.620 And so we have President Trump in the White House.
00:10:03.720 We have Pope Leo XIV, a man from Chicago in the Vatican.
00:10:10.720 And, Jack, next year is the 250th anniversary jubilee of the United States of America.
00:10:17.020 I really hope Pope Francis says, Pope Leo, will you please come join us to celebrate 250 years of America?
00:10:25.840 Can you imagine what that would look like to have Trump and Pope Leo celebrating 250 years of the United States of America?

00:10:37.820 It's going to be incredible.
00:10:39.300 Well, yeah.
00:10:39.820 And, of course, I always, you know, whenever Charlie Kirk, my evangelical buddy, and I get into it back and forth, he said, well, you know, America and Catholics, it's, you know, that's an Ellis Island thing.
00:10:50.200 I said, well, hold on a second, hold on a second, if I remember correctly, America was founded by a Catholic, or discovered by a Catholic with Christopher Columbus.
00:10:57.700 And, hold on a second, wait, wait, America is also named after a Catholic, Amerigo Vespucci.
00:11:03.940 So we got two pretty good claims to claim right there, as well as signers of the Declaration and members of George Washington's Revolutionary War Council.
00:11:13.280 And you had Polish Catholics that were involved, like Kosciuszko and Pulaski and so many others.
00:11:17.480 But, and, of course, it's always, it's nice back and forth that we do.
00:11:20.300 But, you know, I'd love to also see his brother, by the way, Lou Prevost, up there as well.
00:11:24.240 I'm sure President Trump will be more than happy to have Lou over, who is also shipmates with Steve Bannon, come to find out, on a ship in the Navy some time back.
00:11:35.000 Dr. Marshall, when it, you know, when we see all these signs and we're trying to figure out what's going on, one of the pieces of reporting that's come out from an old colleague of mine, Alex Salvi, we were at OAN together.
00:11:45.460 He's now at Newsmax and he's been stationed in Rome for a few years now.
00:11:50.320 He mentioned that really one of the things that scuttled Parolin's candidacy was this deal that was made with the CCP.
00:11:58.800 And, in fact, the Asian Cardinals completely turned against him once they found out that he was involved.
00:12:04.720 Are you hearing that as well?
00:12:05.740 One hundred percent.
00:12:07.740 Yeah, the Cardinal Parolin was he brokered a deal with the help of ex-Cardinal McCarrick, who was the one who was kicked out of the priesthood.
00:12:16.420 He was removed from being a cardinal for the credible allegations of molesting young male children.
00:12:23.320 And that deal was a partnership with Pope Francis, Cardinal Parolin, and ex-Cardinal McCarrick.
00:12:30.680 It's been a disaster.
00:12:31.780 It's been an embarrassment in the Catholic Church.
00:12:33.620 Cardinal Zen of Hong Kong repeatedly begged for the deal not to go through.
00:12:38.360 Francis and Parolin pushed it through.
00:12:40.420 Basically, the short version of it is there has been, since the 50s, two versions of the Catholic Church.
00:12:47.540 The underground faithful Catholic Church and the communist version of the Catholic Church.
00:12:52.820 And basically, the short version of it is they have regularized the communist national version of the Catholic Church and even given veto powers to the communist atheist government veto powers over bishops in China, which is just.
00:13:10.100 And by the way, Dr. Marshall, just so you know, from my own experience and folks, folks know that I spent two years as a Catholic in China, that if I wanted to go to a mass on Easter, that was being said by by a priest who came from out of China.
00:13:25.380 So this was sort of like an international line, it was going to be in English, I had to show my passport to Chinese police officers before I was allowed into church on Easter to prove that I was not a Chinese citizen, nor that I was bringing a Chinese citizen, because they were so worried about someone hearing about the word of God and the good news of the resurrection.
00:13:47.540 That was in Shanghai.
00:13:48.520 And that those people have been faithful and have been suffering under that tyranny for decades.
00:13:56.300 And so it is a great betrayal.
00:13:58.100 And Cardinal Zen knew it was a betrayal to the faithful Catholic Chinese people who have suffered torture, martyrdom.
00:14:05.780 Many of the bishops had wrought in sails in China for years.
00:14:09.840 And so for this deal to go through sort of quietly is a great scandal.
00:14:14.840 So when the Asian and African cardinals come to Rome, they learn that Cardinal Parolin is, in a way, the mastermind of this plot in China.
00:14:24.400 That right there killed it.

00:14:27.320 And hopefully the new Holy Father, Pope Leo, will somehow right those wrongs in Asia.

00:14:37.620 This was absolutely justice for Cardinal Zen and everything that he went through, and more with the persecution of Hong Kong and what the CCP has done down there.

00:16:12.600 And the deconsecration and selling off of churches is going on all throughout the United States and major cities all over the place.

00:16:32.160 And so one of the concerns that a lot of people have, and Steve Bannon's brought this up, I brought this up, is that the understanding, yes, the church is growing in South America, the church is growing in Africa, but with the money, the money is in the world's largest economy, and that is the United States of America and those big dollar, high dollar American Catholics.

00:16:55.720 You choose, and which, of course, by the way, is also part of the underwriting of the CCP deal is that the CCP is bailing out the Vatican under Francis.
00:17:02.380 So the question, I guess, I have is, is the choice of the American pope, the first American pope, is it just because of this return to tradition as sort of all the outward signs are, or are there elements here of a hope within the Vatican of accessing those American high dollar donors?
00:17:20.260 I mean, look, Pope Francis said that he was honored that he was being attacked by the Americans.
00:17:26.600 There was an open rivalry between American Catholics and Pope Francis that started probably somewhere in the year 2015, 2016.
00:17:39.480 That friction, that rivalry continued all the way up until this day.
00:17:45.520 And, yeah, if you, if you belittle and you drive away the American Catholics, you know, the biggest, the biggest countries of Catholics, Brazil, United States of America, you look at in terms of wealth, in terms of donation, it's the United States of America.
00:18:04.780 Did it play a part?
00:18:05.700 Or, undoubtedly, it played a part, you know, Jesus Christ, our Lord, in the gospels, they talk about the bag or the purse that they carried with the money that, you know, Christ lived on for his ministry.
00:18:17.900 There's always been a donation based part of the ministry of Jesus Christ and of the church ever, you know, since AD 33.
00:18:27.000 That's part of it.
00:18:27.840 So, you have to also look at the books and say, can we balance our books?
00:18:32.560 Are we running a deficit?
00:18:34.240 And is offending and isolating the American Catholics a good strategy moving forward for another 10 years?
00:18:41.920 All the cardinals have to look at that and say, that is a bad strategy.
00:18:46.040 We cannot continue to push away the Catholic Church in the United States of America.
00:18:50.780 So, it is, I definitely think, part of the strategy here.
00:18:54.420 And as an American Catholic, as a traditional Catholic, I welcome it.
00:18:59.900 You know, I want to see the Pope love all peoples.
00:19:04.640 And I felt during Pope Francis that he loved everybody except for Americans.
00:19:10.340 And he had, you know, denigrating things to say about President Trump.
00:19:13.820 He had denigrating things to say about America, denigrating things to say about our policy.
00:19:17.540 He wrote a document quickly trying to correct J.D. Vance, but he never tried to correct Joe Biden or many of the other nations who are doing nefarious things.
00:19:27.940 So, it just seemed that Pope Francis had it out for the Americans.

00:25:16.460 There's TikTok videos going viral.
00:25:18.460 Social media is playing just as much of a role in that election as it did in our election.
00:25:22.460 It felt to me like October 2024, but it's May 2025 in Romania.
00:25:32.340 It's that same type of Trump populist energy that we saw in the United States.
00:25:38.040 That's what's going on in Romania right now.
00:25:40.080 Are you seeing the same thing?
00:25:42.960 Yeah.
00:25:43.660 We, you know, this is a group of people that are not going to be denied, right?
00:25:48.400 This is, they've gone through, this is really almost the fourth time at that here.
00:25:53.080 So this, you know, and I'm talking about the fact that they had a presidential election
00:25:57.960 back in December that was then nullified.
00:26:00.340 And people spoke very loudly then, and they have since.
00:26:04.260 So, but, and the big event, you know, two weeks ago when they came out, George, so they
00:26:10.120 have a system here.
00:26:11.300 So people are familiar with an all comers initial election, and then a runoff of the top two
00:26:17.720 vote getters, right?
00:26:18.720 So two weeks ago, George Simeon came out with 41% of the vote with his next, you know, closest
00:26:26.020 person at just under 21.
00:26:28.500 So very close to that 50% threshold.
00:26:31.860 And, you know, people are ready to put them over the line and get on with business here.
00:26:35.500 Yeah, I think probably the most important part of that was all of the polling up to that
00:26:41.940 point only had him at 31 to 34% of the vote.
00:26:45.860 No poll had him over 38%.
00:26:48.600 And so when we were running models, that's just not what we were expecting.
00:26:53.560 Simeon far outperformed what anybody was expecting to the, to the same kind of extent that President
00:26:59.560 Trump beat on Biden, it's starting to look like a people's mandate here in Romania.
00:27:06.260 And, and, and Jack, so, you know, for the, for people to understand how did he so overperform
00:27:12.860 or basically in some respects, you know, how was it missed?
00:27:17.360 Well, one thing that's peculiar to Romania, and it is kind of a part of a, an outgrowth
00:27:24.860 of a globalist, you know, history that they've been under here is that there's a significant
00:27:31.160 amount of vote that is from the Romanian diaspora.
00:27:34.840 So this is a country which amazingly, you know, for the viewers background, you know, we're
00:27:39.960 talking about a place, give or take the size of Wyoming, right?
00:27:44.280 With the population that is depending on who's counting around 18 to 19 million with, but
00:27:52.460 interestingly enough, that's 6 million fewer than 1989 when this, the country was under
00:28:00.180 communism.
00:28:00.820 And it's the same number 60 years ago.
00:28:04.420 So this country has been degrowth.
00:28:06.640 That's the globalist goal, right?
00:28:09.440 So they've actually been successful here.
00:28:11.440 What they've done is push out a lot of Romanians overseas.
00:28:15.720 And so a lot of families here are relying on money coming back.
00:28:18.820 And it's gotten so bad that now when growth does occur, the country ironically even needs
00:28:25.040 to import labor.
00:28:26.640 So they're bringing in...
00:28:27.920 And one thing, guys, and I'll just say it, is that, you know, and George said it when
00:28:31.840 I was there with him.
00:28:32.740 I didn't even want to put words in his mouth.
00:28:34.560 He said it himself.
00:28:36.020 This was, this was what, Bucharest specifically, was one of the main targets of George Soros's
00:28:40.760 open society agenda.
00:28:42.740 After the fall of communism, it was George Soros operating.
00:28:45.620 Remember, he originally came out of Hungary himself in Budapest, right next door there,
00:28:50.380 and then came into Bucharest, was working on Poland, working on so many areas, specifically
00:28:55.260 in this region, to get his network and his people in place.
00:28:59.720 And that's why you saw, as you say, these open borders, these third-world migrants, third-country
00:29:06.380 workers coming in from, you know, migrant workers coming in across areas.
00:29:10.840 By the way, where the Romanians themselves, in many cases, are also facing economic issues,
00:29:16.920 where they want the employment and they can't get it because these workers are coming in.
00:29:22.160 And this guy, similar last name to yours, by the way, Tom, but we're not going to get
00:29:27.880 into that.

00:29:41.180 But, but let me ask you, do you think that it's going to be a similar situation?
00:29:47.920 And this, this is my hope and prayer, because we saw that, that George is, is doing so well.
00:29:52.940 He's overperforming.
00:29:53.840 He's actually gone up to Poland for a series of rallies with their populist nationalist
00:30:00.020 candidate, Karol Nowrofsky, who is unfortunately currently underperforming in the second round
00:30:06.660 polls.
00:30:07.360 However, the polls of the polls, do you believe that this underperform, or excuse me, overperformance
00:30:13.820 of the polls could also take place in Poland, who has their election on the same day?
00:30:20.080 Yeah, well, I'll let Will jump in here.
00:30:23.140 But I think we can say at this point from the MAGA world, the nationalist populist corner
00:30:29.180 of polling, that typically we are underrepresented in polls.
00:30:34.560 There's not too many times that they overstate our, especially early polls performance.
00:30:40.740 So, you know, June, the second round is still far out.
00:30:44.400 I think there's multiple events that will happen between now and then that's going to affect
00:30:49.540 that outcome.
00:30:50.140 So, he's very much in the game.
00:30:52.500 And I think, you know, this Sunday's positive result that we're all hoping for is going
00:30:58.980 to be another dynamic factor in that.

00:31:01.980 With the Romanian polls, what we were looking at is just problems with their census.
00:31:08.400 Back in COVID times, they did a census, really didn't have accurate numbers on their population
00:31:14.780 data.
00:31:15.060 And so, when these polls were coming out, they heavily underrepresented the rural vote.
00:31:20.840 You know, we were looking at the urban versus rural vote and urban was far overrepresented,
00:31:26.040 but rural was way more underrepresented.
00:31:28.020 So, we actually ended up getting more votes than we were expecting to the tune of somewhere
00:31:32.180 in the range of two to 500,000, which all ended up going in Simeon's favor because he
00:31:37.600 is supported by rural voters.
00:31:39.060 When it comes to Poland, you know, I think their polls are a little more accurate.
00:31:43.440 It's not looking terrific for Nebraska.
00:31:47.420 And it's somewhere between 44 and 46 percent.
00:31:54.820 But by no means is that they're helping is because it looks like our new connection is a little
00:32:03.520 unstable right now, is to help make up the difference in that three to five percent that
00:32:08.500 is necessary to make him competitive.
00:32:11.100 No, I think that's exactly right.
00:32:12.880 And I'm certainly hoping that some of the, you know, some of the boost from seeing this
00:32:19.480 block.
00:32:20.240 And, of course, Viktor Orban has also come out.
00:32:22.940 Actually, when I was there in Romania, Viktor Orban had released a message.
00:32:28.340 And so, for people who don't quite get the politics of the area, there have been a longstanding,
00:32:34.000 and when I say longstanding, I mean like hundreds and thousands of years of longstanding tensions
00:32:39.940 between these various regions, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, and Hungary, regarding the borders,
00:32:47.040 regarding various regions.
00:32:49.100 Keep in mind, these were the battlefields of World War II, the battlefields of World War
00:32:54.480 I and so many other wars that took place over time.
00:32:59.580 This was the land of Europe that was behind the Iron Curtain, that was given to the Soviet
00:33:06.800 Union at Yalta, this absolute just betrayal of the Eastern Europeans, forcing them to live
00:33:14.680 under the godless, atheist, brutal yoke of communism.
00:33:19.180 And so, certainly something that I've said begs a reassessment of World War II and our history
00:33:25.600 there and an understanding of how it was that that war ended up with Joseph Stalin coming out of it
00:33:33.220 with a communist empire that stretched from Berlin all the way to Beijing.
00:33:39.280 This is what we're dealing with, trying to allow these countries to join this populist nationalist movement

00:37:19.700 And that access to the Black Sea is everything for military operations, geostrategic operations.
00:37:26.060 Also, I'm being told that President Trump is potentially going to be speaking very soon at the state dinner in Qatar.
00:37:34.160 And we're going to be, I'm being told by the network, we're going to cut to that as soon as it comes on.
00:37:39.060 But, guys, walk us through a little bit more about this geostrategic importance of Romania.
00:37:42.440 So, it gets to being very important who the president of Romania is,
00:37:48.340 because that individual, that man, that woman, has a very important bearing on the role of Romania within NATO,
00:37:55.980 and then by extension, the role of America within NATO, and how we match up.
00:38:01.140 So, keep in mind, what happened with the Russian invasion here is that technically,
00:38:07.200 Romania gained a border against Russia with the invasion of Ukraine.
00:38:12.100 Now, there's the maritime border where Romania actually matches up with Russia.
