00:01:00.000Hi, this is Kylie Brakeman, Angela Jaritana, Jeremy Culhane, Patrick McDonald, and we're the hosts of the Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists podcast.
00:01:09.760The Improvised Character Comedy podcast, where each week a new panel of artists discuss their craft.
00:01:15.600Join us for a panel of Eurovision participants.
00:01:18.680And we do a little Halloween sometimes.
00:01:24.500He gets right up next to the microphone.
00:01:26.240I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other.
00:01:29.140You've never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween.
00:01:34.660Listen to Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists every Thursday on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
00:01:42.140I'm Lacey Mosley, author, actor, stand-up comedian, creator, and host of Scam Goddess Podcast,
00:01:47.800the true crime comedy podcast all about robbery, fraud, and those who practice it.
00:01:52.180Each week I bring on an amazing guest.
00:05:44.040And so he's saying, something with Ariana's song stuck with you, Ariana and Justin Bieber's song stuck with you.
00:05:49.360There were 60,000 song copies sold in an hour that were bought by six credit cards.
00:05:53.680In the 11th hour, right before the sales were released to Billboard to state it.
00:05:59.100And he's been talking about it for the past week.
00:06:01.060He's been talking about how Billboard is corrupt and they favor artists and put out this statement that Scooter Braun and Justin and Ariana bought these last minute albums to drive them to number one.
00:21:36.840I make some people really, really inflate the amount of money they think I make.
00:21:42.220And I promise on God, once I start making millions of dollars again, I will be giving back millions of dollars, more so than any influencer.
00:27:30.420When I found out what this was, I go, but I have to see both sides because although the contract wasn't necessarily fair, when Barstool picked up Call Her Daddy, it was nothing.
00:28:24.600Listen, basically what happened here is Barstool, since day one, has owned the IP for this.
00:28:29.700It's been Barstool Intellectual Property, which for people who don't understand, it means Barstool owns the show.
00:28:35.040And these girls are, and everything behind and everything that goes into it, these girls are simply, the way the contract was originally signed, are simply personalities or hosts of said show.
00:28:45.160And what happened was, I think, and I'll speak from my own personal experience with this kind of thing.
00:28:51.160When you go into this agreement and you have nothing, you have nobody, you have no fans, you're just a little person and you see this massive entity like Barstool, you agree to what they're what they're giving you because you assume that, you know, my guess is Alex and Sophia go in.
00:29:19.940They become the biggest show ever in six months.
00:29:22.200And now, just like with so many other people in Hollywood and so many other times that this has happened, they go back and they say, this contract isn't fair.
00:29:43.700So let me just finish what happened on the show last night.
00:29:47.340So basically, after the first year was up, Portnoy said basically that he's willing to renegotiate, which he's always been very good about.
00:29:56.340He's willing to renegotiate the contract with the two girls.
00:30:00.000And after a bunch of back and forth, he offers them, I think it was like $500,000 each.
