00:00:41.000 And I'm Lisa DiGiulio, the old one,
00:00:43.360 which means we have wildly different references,
00:00:45.600 occasionally different opinions.
00:00:46.920 And at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all.
00:00:49.700 Now in my 30s, being the founder of New Shoes,
00:00:52.720 Good Taste is my business.

00:01:16.840 You're a generational yapper, like me.
00:01:18.860 That's why I had to make yapping a job.

00:01:51.080 Does the Pope dress up?
00:01:52.400 He winks on Halloween.
00:01:54.660 He gets right up next to the microphone.
00:01:56.360 I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other.

00:02:12.320 If I were to tell you religion scares me, what's your response to that? 0.95
00:02:16.520 God's judging you right now as we speak. 0.72
00:02:19.280 Everyone judges everyone.
00:02:20.740 Religion should scare you because I don't even believe in religion.
00:02:25.560 Religion is a construct of things that you have to do.
00:02:28.240 I believe in a relationship with God.
00:02:36.840 We're rolling 100%.
00:02:38.360 1,000% we're rolling. 1.00
00:02:40.560 Brad saw my penis just now. 1.00
00:02:42.620 And I've waited to talk about it until just now. 0.99
00:02:45.780 I was in the bathroom, and I heard Brad's footsteps.
00:02:48.980 I knew someone was coming, and it was my fault.
00:02:51.340 The door was slightly open, and he walked in, and there's a mirror,
00:02:55.320 and we just made direct eye contact.
00:02:57.120 But then he jumped because he was scared
00:02:59.600 That I was already planning on looking at him
00:03:01.600 He was scared
00:03:03.480 Can we get past this?
00:03:04.440 It was a premeditated flashing
00:03:05.780 Wait, hold on, where was this?
00:03:07.820 It was in the bathroom just now
00:03:08.880 20 seconds ago
00:03:10.360 And you were peeing
00:03:11.300 Yeah 0.98
00:03:11.800 Damn, what's it feel like? 0.99
00:03:15.380 I've been in that place numerous times 0.99
00:03:17.280 It's uncomfortable, yeah?
00:03:19.560 I was so ready for it
00:03:21.300 Did he set it up?

00:04:27.960 I should also mention that we're doing a season two break,
00:04:32.320 so we will not be podcasting next week.
00:04:35.380 The Maverick House is completely dispersed.
00:04:38.500 Everyone's separated.
00:04:39.480 You're going to hang out with my girlfriend for a couple days,
00:04:43.480 believe it or not.
00:04:44.220 Oh, for 4th of July?
00:04:45.000 Yeah.
00:04:45.400 Wow, that's cool.
00:04:45.940 Just hanging out.
00:04:46.880 I'm going home to see the family.
00:04:48.500 Oh, in Ohio?
00:04:49.640 Yeah.
00:04:50.480 It's a nice place, man.
00:04:51.580 I don't know.
00:04:51.860 Summertime in Ohio?
00:04:52.840 You ever been?
00:04:53.280 I've been there before
00:04:54.760 It's pretty awesome
00:04:55.600 It is
00:04:56.280 It's just a little too humid for me
00:04:57.640 That's why I like LA so much
00:04:59.140 It's real humid matter
00:05:00.320 It's dry here
00:05:01.420 Yeah season 2 break though
00:05:03.060 Crazy
00:05:03.520 So
00:05:04.060 It feels a little weird
00:05:06.400 Because it's on episode 198
00:05:08.040 And at episode 200
00:05:09.680 You know we have to come swinging
00:05:10.680 I know
00:05:11.220 With a major guest
00:05:12.360 Everybody's waiting for that
00:05:13.820 For that
00:05:14.300 You know
00:05:14.640 Locked in loaded KSI episode
00:05:16.660 And I hate to be the one
00:05:17.920 To just blatantly say 0.98
00:05:19.300 It's not fucking happening bro 0.97
00:05:20.600 Everyone in the comments is 0.98
00:05:22.180 He just won't be
00:05:23.240 here. It won't be in the United States. Yeah, it's not going to be in L.A.
00:05:24.820 How can we say, like, hey, I know there's a global pandemic going
00:05:27.160 on. Everyone's inside, locked down in your country. Come here, KSL.
00:05:29.280 Come here to Encino. Come here to the
00:05:31.160 house. He's not going to buy it. Of your sworn mortal
00:05:33.000 enemy. Just show up.
00:05:34.700 Pull up. So, yeah.
00:05:37.100 Season two break. We love you guys, but
00:05:38.740 not that much that we'll be here next week.
00:05:42.260 But we're going to
00:05:43.020 come back swinging. We're going to come back on fire.
00:05:44.700 Yeah, in a big way. We'll get a big guess.
00:05:46.680 One person that's not coming back anytime
00:05:48.860 soon. Shane Dawson. Mr. Dawson,
00:05:51.340 dude. Triple demon.
00:05:52.700 we're calling it triple d the triple d triple i gotta tell max something right now oh oh he does
00:05:59.660 this a lot did you know what it was yeah oh you saw it okay uh all three youtube channels demonetized
00:06:06.800 like absolutely uh shut down we know he had more than one i didn't either but we saw this happen
00:06:12.160 with you as well it seems to be youtube's default for uh for when somebody acts acts a foo and uh
00:06:18.120 yeah they shut his ass down sponsors are pulling out his makeup has been pulled off the website
00:06:22.000 Now, obviously, this video will be out on Thursday, so we may have even more stuff coming from there between now and then. 0.95
00:06:27.820 But wow, dude.
00:06:28.980 What do you think is the final straw for YouTube to decide to pull the demonetization trigger?
00:06:34.620 Was it Jada Pinkett Smith?
00:06:36.920 Because that was mine, by the way.
00:06:38.900 Not only Jada Pinkett Smith.
00:06:40.360 That's a mother.
00:06:41.460 That's like mama bear coming out.
00:06:43.520 And so I don't know.
00:06:44.440 I'm just wondering if she had any weight in this giant corporate company making a decision like this.
00:06:50.540 Well, it continues to bring up that question of transparency at YouTube.
00:06:56.220 It's – a lot of times with demonetization, with why videos are monetized in the first place, with who gets served up in the feed, it's all conjecture.
00:07:04.360 There's really no guide out there that explains why YouTube does exactly what it does.
00:07:09.240 They obviously have their community guidelines, but there's – day after day, it's just more and more questions.
00:07:13.840 Why was this the reason why Shane's – why was the rat the – you know what I'm saying?
00:07:18.080 Like why this thing and not that thing?
00:07:20.100 They have to shift with the culture because their advertisers pay their bills and it's
00:07:24.500 a, it's a multi-billion dollar company.
00:07:26.740 Oh yeah.
00:07:27.640 What was it?
00:07:28.560 Adpocalypse?
00:07:29.380 Yeah.
00:07:29.680 That's what I'm saying.
00:07:30.380 So like, unfortunately you're, you're a slave to the advertiser.
00:07:32.820 If you have a bad actor, i.e. Shane Dawson or even someone who was a bad actor, like
00:07:38.860 they got to make a move.
00:07:40.280 It feels so weird calling him a bad.
00:07:42.260 He's such a unassuming and sweet man.
00:07:45.700 I know.
00:07:46.060 His past is just haunting him.
00:07:48.920 It's just that bestiality will get you, dude.
00:07:50.760 It'll get you all the time.
00:07:51.680 And the peddict.
00:07:53.120 Both of those things are just tricky, bro.
00:07:54.920 Hard to work.
00:07:55.860 One's tricky.
00:07:56.640 Hard to work around.
00:07:58.520 Yeah.
00:07:58.860 Well, all right.
00:07:59.440 Maybe our guests can actually talk a little bit about this with us today.
00:08:02.660 I think so.
00:08:03.240 Talking about sins and becoming a better person and evolving.
00:08:05.980 Ladies and gentlemen, we do have a guest today.
00:08:07.680 Don't forget to pause.
00:08:08.300 It was a guest-based podcast.
00:08:09.700 First guest on set in how long?
00:08:12.660 Five, six months. 0.96
00:08:13.720 Unless you consider Pam.
00:08:15.780 She was here and you were struggling for an episode.
00:08:18.140 She's your mom.
00:08:18.920 This is your mom.
00:08:20.300 First real guest, guys.
00:08:21.340 I want to introduce him.
00:08:22.040 He is a published author and one of the most prominent American pastors who co-founded Hillsong Church in 2010.
00:08:27.300 He baptized Justin Bieber and officiated his wedding.
00:08:30.140 Here to talk religion, God, and hopefully wash away all of my sins.
00:08:33.240 It's Carl Lentz.
00:08:34.460 All right.
00:08:35.940 He's coming up on us.
00:08:37.600 There he is.
00:08:37.980 One of those.
00:08:38.560 What's up, bro?
00:08:39.080 What's up?
00:08:39.420 Yes, sir.
00:08:41.240 What up?
00:08:41.700 The best-looking pastor I've ever seen in my life.
00:08:44.200 Yeah, dude.
00:08:45.220 Like the bro of bros.
00:08:47.920 Pastor bro.
00:08:48.920 We're friends for life.
00:08:49.940 I guess so.
00:08:50.600 If you start a combo like that, we're friends for life.
00:08:53.880 No, I saw you yesterday.
00:08:55.340 We were at our friend Chase's warehouse.
00:08:57.220 Yep.
00:08:57.760 And obviously, yeah, I said, I was like, yo, you look familiar.
00:09:02.060 And because I had seen your stuff before.
00:09:04.080 And yeah, man, you're by far the most down to earth, amicable, religious person I've met.
00:09:13.660 And I'm wondering if that contributes to your greatness and who you are and the stuff you do.
00:09:20.660 Well, firstly, thank you for having me.
00:09:23.160 This is really cool.
00:09:24.700 It's cool to see what hard work can do.
00:09:27.600 I was just talking to my son not too long ago who was like, Dad, I'm going to be a YouTuber.
00:09:31.960 It was like a year ago before I was really kind of hip to the million-dollar game.
00:09:36.920 And then I found out you could actually make a real – I'm sitting here on a YouTube empire.
00:09:42.680 But after I did some research, I told my son, I'm like, okay, yeah, let's get you a better chair.
00:09:47.860 We love that.
00:09:48.480 Get you some better, you know, earphones.
00:09:50.700 Oh, because he's doing commentary?
00:09:52.240 Like he's sitting down?
00:09:52.740 He does it all.
00:09:53.540 He does the Twitch stream.
00:09:54.740 He does Fortnite.
00:09:55.940 But anyway, yeah, this is really cool to see.
00:09:58.520 So thank you for having me.
00:09:59.640 Of course.
00:10:00.040 But yeah, we are pretty simple, easy people.
00:10:02.580 I actually didn't marry Justin.
00:10:03.860 One of my best friends, Judah Smith, did.
00:10:05.560 I saw that.
00:10:06.860 But then I also saw a headline that said like he did it in private or something.
00:10:11.000 Was there something?
00:10:11.580 It was a pretty low-key wedding, but Judah has been his pastor forever, and he and I are really good friends.
00:10:17.760 So I was there, but I didn't marry him.
00:10:20.620 Google lied to me, man.
00:10:21.680 I'm going to be honest.
00:10:22.600 You can only get so much information.
00:10:23.960 If the lie is good, I roll with it.
00:10:26.860 But I think, yeah, our church is about just being yourself and trying to get better.
00:10:32.120 And I think sometimes people think preachers are—well, they make themselves out to be something more than they are.
00:10:38.900 And our church is kind of built on everybody being themselves.
00:10:41.580 including the preachers.
00:10:42.760 So hopefully I wouldn't be some weird alien
00:10:45.420 that wouldn't be able to be in the same space
00:10:48.000 with awesome guys like you.
00:10:49.880 Kevin Durant as well.
00:10:51.260 Did you baptize Kevin Durant?
00:10:52.900 Because that one was actually you, right?
00:10:54.600 Yeah, that really happened.
00:10:58.180 First and foremost, I want to say
00:10:59.900 we are not theological or religious experts on this show.
00:11:04.060 Mac probably is the most learned or studied
00:11:06.960 out of the three of us on it.
00:11:08.360 Most likely.
00:11:09.280 His beard gives him extra.
00:11:10.600 Extra wisdom. But I did dial in a few thoughts and questions as I came on to the show. And the first one is kind of how does your approach differ from the strictness that people generally believe religion to encompass or hold? And being one of the things that actually, as I'm sure you've seen in our current climate, scares people away from the idea of theology or revelation or religion.
00:11:40.160 Yeah, that's a great question.
00:11:41.580 I think most of the time religion, like people, especially in New York, we've dealt with the whole generation of people that have run from church just because it's been scary.
00:11:50.200 It's been weird.
00:11:51.280 It's been like rules.
00:11:52.820 And when you meet Jesus, we believe it's not you have to.
00:11:56.920 It's a you get to.
00:11:58.240 So rules are what you need if you don't really want to be involved with something.
00:12:01.600 But if you have a relationship with God, I think that it should be free.
00:12:05.240 It should lift your head, not put it down.
00:12:06.820 It should add less weight to your life because Jesus said, I'm going to take the weight off of you.
00:12:11.480 So our church is less about telling you what to do and trying to teach you how to think.
00:12:15.800 And you've got to come to these conclusions on your own.
00:12:17.900 But normally coming to church, it's like 10 things you can't do.
00:12:20.620 Can't drink, can't smoke, can't have sex, can't talk, literally can't live.
00:12:25.140 That's what it feels like.
00:12:26.060 Right.
00:12:26.360 And we'd rather kind of reverse that and get people to know Jesus first.
00:12:31.020 And then from there, you start realizing, cool, it's not that I can't do that.
00:12:34.620 It's I don't want to do that.
00:12:36.060 Big difference.
00:12:36.820 What are the hard set rules that do exist in?
00:12:41.700 Now, your church, Hillsong, is a version of the Pentecostal, is it?
00:12:46.760 I was going to ask, what's your actual denomination?
00:12:48.540 It's non-denominational.
00:12:49.680 Okay.
00:12:50.000 Okay.
00:12:50.320 But it does take some inspiration from the Australian Pentecostal.
00:12:55.380 Is that what it is?
00:12:55.960 Well, in Australia, the denominations are different.
00:12:58.460 Okay.
00:12:59.140 But it would be a non-denominational charismatic church is how you describe it.
00:13:03.620 So we dance with snakes once a month.
00:13:06.380 We, I'm kidding.
00:13:07.600 Oh, I was waiting.
00:13:09.120 I was going to ask.
00:13:09.780 I was about to sign up.
00:13:11.120 I'm into that.
00:13:12.900 No, we, you know, we are a church that just believes that the denomination aspect of things,
00:13:18.680 it's less important than who we're talking about.
00:13:21.860 So, yeah, what was your original question?
00:13:24.360 I was just going to ask, like, what are the hard set rules?
00:13:26.600 Just because I, as someone who has found a personal connection to Jesus, especially in my recovery.
00:13:32.500 What a story you have, by the way.
00:13:34.160 Thank you.
00:13:34.720 My gosh.
00:13:35.260 It's wild.
00:13:35.660 Amazing.
00:13:36.380 Um, but, uh, and everybody knows it, so I'm not going to even touch on it, but, but obviously,
00:13:40.360 uh, I, I was born a Methodist and I was, you know, believe in Christ my whole life, but
00:13:44.500 I formed a more personal connection myself and, um, I don't, uh, regularly attend church.
00:13:52.140 I'd like to work on that.
00:13:53.060 And I don't, I don't utilize a pastor to create that connection, but I have a personal
00:13:56.940 conversation with Jesus Christ every single day of my life.
00:13:59.040 And so I'm curious just, you know, to hear from you what the hard set rules are that
00:14:05.260 exist.
00:14:05.480 There has to be some, like, is it be good to one another?
00:14:08.420 Is it like, what is the core belief of that system?
00:14:11.220 The core tenets of our faith, it's to love people, love people more than yourself.
00:14:16.180 Put people first, be kind, be more thoughtful than you've ever been before.
00:14:21.560 I think when you talk about rules, like Jesus said really clearly, if you want to do what
00:14:25.760 I tell you to do, he took the 10 commandments, you made them to love me and love your neighbor.
00:14:30.260 Made it really simple.
00:14:31.220 So all the rules and all the stuff that we put on religion, that's what people have done.
00:14:36.360 But Jesus was the opposite of that.
00:14:38.140 He said, if you really want to know what religion is, it's caring for the widows, helping out the orphans.
00:14:43.220 And he was talking to religious people when he said that.
00:14:45.940 So our thing is when you start defining your life, that's because you know Jesus and you start to understand what the Bible is really about.
00:14:53.400 And we win sometimes because people have had so many bad experiences with church and religion.
00:15:00.120 So they step into our church like, oh, this is the greatest thing ever.
00:15:02.440 And we're like, sorry you feel like that because it's not.
00:15:04.960 But it's like if you got food poisoning at five restaurants, you'd be real hesitant to go to the sixth.
00:15:09.440 But if you just survived that sixth outing, you'd be like, that's the greatest restaurant in the world.
00:15:13.600 That's kind of what we're dealing with.
00:15:14.960 So you're the Cracker Barrel.
00:15:16.580 If that, we're the Applebee's, like maybe.
00:15:19.600 We are the 7-Eleven deli.
00:15:21.280 Wait, why do you say that though?
00:15:23.880 Why do I say what?
00:15:25.000 Why lower the esteem of your church?
00:15:29.300 Well, it's not that I'm lowering it. I think I'm just trying to put it. I love our church. It's just sometimes we want to make things spectacular that aren't. And if you came to our church, you guys would be like, this is cool. But it's not like this thing that's spectacular because God uses regular people.
00:15:43.820 But is this you being incredibly humble?
00:15:45.980 No.
00:15:46.520 No, I think this is just me being real.
00:15:48.660 I mean, we work hard and we have a good, you know, thing that we produced when it comes to a service.
00:15:53.460 But the real story of a church are the people that make it up from Monday to Saturday.
00:15:59.020 And that's the stuff that like our church gets media coverage because there's famous people.
00:16:02.280 That's it.
00:16:02.840 It's just because in some media circles, they just cannot believe that people who are famous also want to make sure their soul is intact.
00:16:10.340 So we have like 99% of our church are not, you know, these wildly famous people.
00:16:15.700 But because we have some, they're just like, this is a celebrity church.
00:16:18.880 And it's like, you know, it is what it is.
00:16:20.900 Whatever you want to, you know, talk about to get us in the room, we'll do it.
00:16:24.280 Once we get there, we'll do what we want.
00:16:25.840 How and why did it become that?
00:16:27.220 Like, why do you think the celebrities are drawn to come to your church?
00:16:29.800 I don't think it's that they're drawn.
00:16:31.000 I think, number one, it's proximity.
00:16:32.760 So New York.
00:16:34.920 He started a church where the celebrities are.
00:16:37.020 He's like, yo, it's convenient.
00:16:38.020 So if y'all came to our church, the first thing we would talk about is sharing your faith.
00:16:45.340 So I'd say, Logan, if you find somebody today, encourage them and tell them about who you are and what you do.
00:16:51.820 So you would naturally bring 30 people.
00:16:54.320 We would say that to someone who's not famous.
00:16:55.980 We'd say that to the Brooklyn school teacher who would say, hey, share your faith.
00:16:59.980 Be a light in your world.
00:17:01.120 And so naturally, you should be bringing whoever is in your world.
00:17:04.340 So if we have celebrities, we're not going to change what we believe for them.
00:17:07.400 if you're a celebrity you still have a duty to be able to share your faith and to help people so
00:17:11.380 that's that's all it is it's literally that simple but i will say that we do um not make
00:17:17.160 your fame a big deal yeah you guys are cool you act like you've been here before yeah and we're
00:17:21.960 also not not too cool to be a fan like i hate that when people are around famous people and
00:17:25.640 they're like i've never heard of you and it's like you definitely have a t-shirt you do um
00:17:30.400 but we're we're if you're if you're a cop we'll honor that you're a cop absolutely then you sit
00:17:35.540 down and you enjoy this this church family like everybody else if you're famous cool if you're
00:17:41.080 anonymous and you're homeless you know we want to treat you with the same amount of dignity
00:17:44.920 and that's that's the spirit of our of our church what what do you say to the people that will say
00:17:50.660 celebrities go to uh hillsong um because they're lazy in their religion what do you say to people
00:17:58.060 that have practiced strict catholicism for so long that they look at you know what you guys preach
00:18:03.740 which obviously I love, and say, this is not enough.
00:18:07.200 This doesn't get you a ticket to heaven.
00:18:08.860 You're not doing what needs to be done to.
00:18:10.680 Well, that's why they kill Jesus.
00:18:12.140 It's like, just because something's harder doesn't make it better.
00:18:15.200 Like, it's okay to do something smarter.
00:18:17.720 So the reason why people freaked out with Jesus is because he was saying,
00:18:21.220 all those rules, all that fancy stuff you do, I'm not interested.
00:18:24.800 All you need is going to be found in me.
00:18:27.260 So for people who judge somebody, I don't look at someone who's devout
00:18:30.640 and what they do solely is the reason why I would respect that.
00:18:34.760 And I think ours is just as devout.
00:18:36.520 It's just different.
00:18:37.180 Just because we're not miserable, just because we're not carrying these solemn faces
00:18:42.140 doesn't mean this isn't a life that takes discipline and dedication.
00:18:46.120 But, yeah, if people want to judge somebody else's faith, go for your life.
00:18:50.080 If I were to tell you religion scares me, what's your response to that?
00:18:54.560 God's judging you right now as we speak. 0.72
00:18:57.340 Everyone judges everyone.
00:18:58.500 Religion should scare you because I don't even believe in religion.
00:19:03.560 Religion is a construct of things that you have to do.
00:19:06.340 I believe in a relationship with God, and that's totally different.
00:19:10.020 Imagine thinking about something like a relationship rather than a parole visit.
00:19:14.900 Not that you guys would know anybody that's ever been on parole.
00:19:18.620 It's almost like this dread, like that's my religion.
00:19:21.760 I have to go have the priest bless me.
00:19:23.840 I have to go do this, and I can't do that.
00:19:25.960 But if it's a relationship, this is an active conversation.
00:19:29.200 This is alive.
00:19:30.200 This is a God that actually wants to hear your voice.
00:19:33.180 So often we're just redefining who Jesus has always been because everybody thinks God is so far.
00:19:39.040 Are you more of a facilitator than a church, would you say?
00:19:42.100 Well, that should be the job.
00:19:43.860 So Catholicism, for instance, like their priests are really necessary, right? 0.55
00:19:48.240 The point of Christianity is for the leaders to not be as necessary.
00:19:51.840 So my job is to teach you or to encourage somebody else to know God so well where I'm out of the picture.
00:19:57.680 If anything, a pastor should be a bridge.
00:19:59.960 But if you have a religious construct based on the people who are facilitating it, that's a problem because you always need me.
00:20:06.600 So if I'm a pastor or a priest that wants to keep drawing people to me, I'm not going to tell you everything.
00:20:11.260 I don't want you to be so good.
00:20:12.620 I don't want you to be so free.
00:20:13.860 You don't want him to outshine the master.
00:20:14.920 Yeah, I don't want you to be so free that you don't need me.
00:20:17.900 So I'm going to give you a little bit of guilt.
00:20:19.840 I'm going to preach something that's a little bit manipulative and keep you coming.
00:20:23.440 But we believe the opposite is true.
00:20:24.840 If you preach the truth, people are going to want to keep finding that.
00:20:28.420 That's kind of like the churchianity, right?
00:20:31.720 Yes.
00:20:32.380 Okay.
00:20:32.700 There's like the concept that Catholicism and Catholic churches are only set up to get people to come in and pay their tidings and teach them, like you said, only enough so that they can not quite get to the point that they need to be to be completely free.
00:20:49.640 within their own minds and their spirits and find their own faith,
00:20:52.620 but always be reliant on the teachings and the hierarchy of the Catholic church.
00:20:59.380 Yeah, and I ran from it.
00:21:00.860 I had a pretty rough, not rough past.
00:21:03.380 I have a great family, but I played basketball in college.
00:21:06.660 UNC, by the way.
00:21:08.160 NC State.
00:21:08.960 Oh, sorry, NC State.
00:21:09.900 That's offensive.
00:21:10.360 Now I'm just going to walk in.
00:21:11.320 It's the most offensive thing I could have ever said to you.
00:21:13.260 That's offensive. 0.93
00:21:14.120 That's beyond religious offense.
00:21:15.180 But you're from Delaware, right?
00:21:16.340 No.
00:21:16.860 Oh, see, gotcha.
00:21:17.900 All right, now I'll see if we're one and one now.
00:21:19.640 See, now I feel better.
00:21:21.040 Now I feel better. 1.00
00:21:21.940 I just could never imagine myself being involved with Christians. 1.00
00:21:25.780 Like I just couldn't, I just was almost repulsed. 0.99
00:21:28.380 And I found that to be a lot of people's experience is that they don't have any problem with Jesus. 1.00
00:21:33.080 But it's just these seven dudes they've met that are such, you know, idiots. 1.00
00:21:37.600 And people are like, I want nothing to do with God. 1.00
00:21:39.300 And I was kind of like that as well.
00:21:40.820 What caused you to go in the ministry?
00:21:43.080 I think we just, I just have been going through every door that's been open.
00:21:46.760 So I never had like an angelic call.
00:21:48.640 like you talk to some preachers like god spoke to me when i was five and i'm like i've had a
00:21:52.600 five-year-old god doesn't speak to five-year-olds i didn't have like a real spectacular story for me
00:21:58.500 it was just i just kept helping with my church and one door led to another and i'm 41 today
00:22:04.460 sitting here in this epic castle that you have with parrots and goats and sheep talking about
00:22:11.140 talking about jesus so with uh with y'all legend so yeah it's been a crazy ride what about what
00:22:15.960 about repent in your in your uh in your space because obviously i've done enough of it in my
00:22:20.700 life and and continue to because i'm i still you know sin and do the best i can but what what do
00:22:25.980 you guys how do you guys handle that type of thing is is uh repenting for your sins a personal
00:22:30.300 journey is it something that's done through a preacher in hillsong or how does that work
00:22:34.240 repentance like the most literal definition of the word means to change your mind so imagine all
00:22:40.160 the stuff we put on repentance all the penance you have to do all the work but when jesus was
00:22:44.080 talking about repent he was literally telling people to change your mind because if you can
00:22:48.660 change your mind you can change your life because it goes mind hold heart hold foothold stronghold
00:22:54.240 yeah so if you want to change what you do you have to change what you think so technically if i want
00:22:58.440 to repent if i you know had a really bad night or if i had a really bad moment um my repentance is
00:23:04.520 as quick as me going jesus change my mind forgive me and it's a like that the bible says god's
00:23:10.440 mercies are new every morning so you find people who are like i want to come to church but i've
00:23:14.540 been so bad for so long as if god is like waiting at the gates going where you been yeah what you've
00:23:19.700 been doing i saw your youtube i saw that vlog i'm scared and it's like why would you hide from a god
00:23:26.340 that knows everything about you anyway and so that's our that's always our attention it's trying
00:23:31.140 to get people to shake off some of the religion that's kept you out for so long even you'll have
00:23:35.520 people listening today that will this will trigger them in one of two ways one people will be like
00:23:39.740 wow there's a christian on there other people will push back and be like i can't believe they're
00:23:43.420 even letting this stuff you know because they've been hurt and they've been through a lot of stuff
00:23:47.080 so um we get that too how much of the bible has been lost in translation in your not not not a lot
00:23:53.600 actually because now it's more accurate than ever so now you have 50 different commentaries you have
00:23:58.820 different you know ways to research um you know the original language so now i mean it's the age
00:24:04.280 of information on everything including the bible but the wording like you said repentance like
00:24:08.340 the latin root pen meaning you know pensive uh that's a thought thought you know that area people
00:24:14.700 look at repentance as this thing of i have to divulge of all my sins and pour out my iniquities
00:24:20.880 confession yeah and confession and that can be terrifying for a lot of people because they don't
00:24:24.300 want to admit to their wrongdoings yeah that is that a point of contention in your church or is
00:24:28.580 that a place no i mean i think confession if you've really repented you're going to want to
00:24:32.460 confess that so we we don't believe that there's a middleman i think sometimes in other faith streams
00:24:37.700 which i'm not knocking you know you have to do that go talk to another person and they can go
00:24:42.000 talk to god we just believe that jesus cut out the middleman so you can talk to me as your pastor if
00:24:46.660 you want but you can also go straight straight to the source if you want okay yeah um in that vein
00:24:52.840 do you uh you've talked about jesus as a real person correct do you believe that jesus himself
00:24:58.220 was god or do you believe that in his wording um it was more so he had found a relationship
00:25:05.460 and an understanding of what some in the spiritual community might call oneness
00:25:10.100 or the great trilogy.
00:25:12.640 No, just the, what is it?
00:25:15.960 Ubiquitous unity.
00:25:18.480 Yeah, all of everything that connects it all, universe,
00:25:21.340 whatever you might want to call it.
00:25:22.580 Yeah, sure.
00:25:23.700 Yeah, I believe he was God because I always stick with the quote.
00:25:28.200 I stick with the word.
00:25:29.160 So Jesus said, this is me.
00:25:31.320 This is who I am.
00:25:32.080 So we have a tendency as people to overcomplicate stuff, and there's enough complication in the world for me not to look at something that was said.
00:25:39.660 And people do, though.
00:25:40.260 You're not wrong.
00:25:40.860 I mean, people will take that any way they want, but for me, I just try to keep it as simple as I can.
00:25:45.380 Do you acknowledge a dark side of faith?
00:25:48.860 Yeah.
00:25:49.220 Well, if there's no dark side, there's no light side.
00:25:51.060 So what does that dark side look like to you?
00:25:54.520 Well, darkness looks different for a lot of people.
00:25:56.800 So our idea of darkness is normally like a big devil with a pitchfork, someone doing like cultish things like cooking a stew, you know, voodoo doll.
00:26:04.980 I think darkness can be you have in a multimillion dollar house, but being stone cold, lonely, completely empty in your soul.
00:26:13.160 So I don't think darkness has an exact template attached to it.
00:26:17.880 I think it's when you feel like you're so far that nobody knows where you are, what you're doing.
00:26:23.500 No one knows who you really are.
00:26:24.700 I'm more so talking about the perpetuators of faith that do it in a dark way.
00:26:30.120 I'm talking about like I'm going to go to Santa Monica today. 0.93
00:26:32.920 There will be a guy screaming on a megaphone telling me I'm going to go to hell. 0.97
00:26:35.640 There will be him.
00:26:37.380 Why does he do that?
00:26:38.900 Why does he tell me that I'm going to burn in hell and try to scare me into becoming a Christian?
00:26:44.380 I think, well, we sometimes will put like a like if you talk to a guy like that, he'll be like, I'm a martyr.
00:26:51.400 You know, this isn't easy.
00:26:52.380 And I always push back on that and say it's way easier to stand at a stranger and yell at them.
00:26:58.040 Yell.
00:26:58.460 Even if what you think is truth but there's no love, the Bible clearly says it's not really truth.
00:27:03.360 It has to be truth and love and grace.
00:27:05.160 But it's a lot harder for me to be friends with somebody, serve them with my life, be consistent, turn the other cheek, build a bridge, and then share my faith.
00:27:14.520 That's hard.
00:27:15.200 It's easy to feel like you're a real Christian to go out.
00:27:17.700 And I yelled at 47 people today.
00:27:19.660 Saw that Logan guy. 0.99
00:27:20.520 I told him he was going to hell.
00:27:21.300 you know i did my duty um you just won't find jesus ever doing that yeah so so then are are
00:27:27.300 they uh inadequate inadequate christians are they even doing christianity the right way will they 0.82
00:27:34.520 go to heaven are they hypocrites it's ironic yeah it's a good question bro i think that there's i 0.97
00:27:40.600 do my best to not judge somebody from so far away including people that frustrate me i i've had a 0.94
00:27:46.120 number of conversations if i was smarter i would have youtubed them um but you know i don't know
00:27:51.620 i wouldn't i don't know where i would place people like that because i think in their heart
00:27:55.160 they think what they're doing is right yeah so i always see somebody like that and go i hope that
00:27:59.640 god can salvage some good out of that um what's that saying the road to hell is paved with good
00:28:04.320 intent is that what it is that how it goes good intentions that's such a weird situation honestly
00:28:09.860 like i feel like you can't there's got to be some level of mental like to be out there you know
00:28:17.480 wearing what these guys are wearing screaming at the passerby is like there's probably some level
00:28:22.000 of math of mental there might be and they're genuine dudes like a lot of the guys they just
00:28:26.000 don't know better and they think they think that's the way they look at what i do and go he doesn't
00:28:30.160 know better so i always just say you know time will tell who was right but that's just yeah i
00:28:35.120 get that's just one side of it though like i just used the screaming guy with the megaphone holding
00:28:38.900 the the sign as an example but there's like when i tell you like religion in general and in faith
00:28:45.140 sometimes i the reason because i'm not like i said i'm not overly religious i do believe in a
00:28:49.460 creator i don't know what his role is in our day-to-day lives i i i think there's
00:28:56.140 some sort of unimaginable thing that made us in this universe and everything around us
00:29:04.320 But like I said, I don't know if he's as active as faith would tell you, because I'm confused.
00:29:12.780 I don't truly understand.
00:29:16.020 There's too many stories being told.
00:29:18.040 There's too many people saying different things.
00:29:20.620 Religion, faith, whatever you want to call it, has led to the deaths of too many people, has led to the trauma of too many children.
00:29:28.560 and i i've just been not shut off to the idea but turned off momentarily and that's why i was
00:29:36.660 excited to have i'm excited i'm excited to have you on the podcast yeah because um yeah i i don't
00:29:43.200 i'm not sure i can fully wrap my head around so many people telling me different things about
00:29:48.520 their god yes you know uh in islam allah is is the god and judaism jesus is the god and uh and
00:29:58.760 yeah judaism no well is judaism jewish
00:30:04.120 right there's no there's no jesus but you're right but you're right in your train of thought 0.80
00:30:13.320 either way so everyone has their own interpretation of god so it gets really really
00:30:17.260 horribly confusing. So our job is to try to make it as plain as we can. And number one,
00:30:24.420 if you ever talk to a Christian that's super defensive, you could probably stop listening
00:30:28.160 right away because that's not a trait of our faith. Like Jesus said, they will know you by
00:30:33.680 your love. Out of all the things Jesus said, I want people to recognize you for, that's what he
00:30:38.380 said. They're not going to know you by your fancy speech or your clean life or your theological
00:30:43.120 depth jesus said if you're really with me people will know it because of the way you love people
00:30:47.400 i love that that's wild to me so such a good message how i came to the faith that i have is
00:30:51.740 that people let me doubt and they let me question and they let me push back and they just kept
00:30:56.960 pointing me on this investigation road which i'm going to say to all y'all um you you make these
00:31:02.560 calls for yourself it's not as confusing as you think it's like if someone were to say i can't do
00:31:06.680 youtube it's too complicated what would you say to that yes but i'm sitting on an empire right
00:31:12.560 It was done.
00:31:13.740 If it's worth it, you'll look.
00:31:16.040 And I know I just met you, but I know the two of you have deep souls and you care about stuff.
00:31:20.720 So you should pursue it because it's the biggest question in life.
00:31:25.700 I like the idea of being a good person and following everything that you said.
00:31:31.600 I don't know if I can put a label on it that would define me in a certain way.
00:31:40.820 Does that make sense?
00:31:41.920 Maverick.
00:31:42.560 that's how you should define yourself um you're you're gnostic right g-n-o-s-t-i-c
00:31:49.040 you believe in a god yeah something above that is providing you with some sort of inspiration
00:31:54.400 and guidance no no guidance no yeah but even is that is that agnostic or is that atheist
00:32:00.540 gnostic not agnostic what is his what is his situation called he believes in a maker but
00:32:05.760 i think it's agnostic he's agnostic it's agnostic yeah you can't prove that it is or isn't right
00:32:11.120 or what it is exactly
00:32:12.380 this is a bigger question
00:32:14.220 because I was raised Christian, by the way
00:32:16.500 I'm forgetting to mention, I did PSR, I did church
00:32:19.340 prove it, show me a certificate
00:32:20.960 I can show you, I was baptized
00:32:23.060 his brother's religious
00:32:24.900 not anymore
00:32:25.800 he tried it because he was lost 0.93
00:32:28.500 as most religious people do 0.92
00:32:30.260 they try it because they're lost and it gives them a sense of direction
00:32:33.220 and hope, which I think religion is good for
00:32:34.960 but, you know
00:32:36.260 we grew up religious
00:32:38.280 we both kind of got turned off to it
00:32:40.060 And I've always been sort of, I don't know, just rubbed the wrong way.
00:32:46.060 Like when I was in PSR as a kid, seven years old, I was eight years old.
00:32:49.140 I was like, Mom, this feels weird.
00:32:50.260 Like the things they're telling me and preaching to me, I'm not here for the shoving of faith down the throats of people who just don't know better.
00:33:02.440 Yeah, I think it's well said.
00:33:04.560 Like if you take it back to what you said earlier, you said, you know, I'm okay with being a good person.
00:33:09.540 Well, that's not even really the foundation of our belief because whose definition of good?
00:33:14.340 We live in a world that has some low good standards.
00:33:16.720 Like if you don't go to jail five times, you're a good dad.
00:33:19.060 It's like, no, you're not a good dad.
00:33:20.260 You're not supposed to do that, right?
00:33:21.660 No, I don't think so.
00:33:22.380 So good is a meter we can change.
00:33:26.120 I don't think so.
00:33:27.140 You don't think so?
00:33:27.880 Where do you get good from?
00:33:29.780 I think the universally accepted definition of good is like you know right and wrong.
00:33:36.220 You know when something's right and something's wrong.
00:33:37.640 Morality, general morality.
00:33:39.100 Well, morality, like you said, changes drastically from person to person, massively from city to city, from country to country.
00:33:45.580 We would still agree, though.
00:33:46.400 We would still agree on what most is good. 1.00
00:33:48.080 Like in certain countries, the morale thing is that women should cover up, not vote, and not be allowed to participate. 1.00
00:33:54.060 That's the morale of the states in that country.
00:33:56.260 But we know that's wrong.
00:33:57.580 We know in this country that several hundred million people in another country think it's right because of their standards and their morals.
00:34:05.480 What do you mean?
00:34:05.960 Why?
00:34:06.380 Religion.
00:34:07.720 The answer is religion.
00:34:08.680 religion yeah absolutely but it's but but it comes back to that question of like what is
00:34:13.340 the right answer to it i don't we think we have one answer whether whether it's because of
00:34:17.860 religion or ethics or moral fiber what we're born with our parents he just we all think we know
00:34:22.060 what's right but then there's a whole nother group of people who think something else and so
00:34:25.440 to his point because of what though what's the what's some sometimes uh how society raised you
00:34:30.760 in japan or china you're raised whatever to be a certain way regardless of religion you're raised 0.93
00:34:35.100 by your parents to go to school 86 hours a fucking week you know what i'm saying but i believe there's 0.96
00:34:39.580 here we believe in different standards i believe inherently humans know what is right or maybe not 0.98
00:34:45.540 know what is right i believe there is a right i believe there is wrong i believe there is a bad
00:34:48.800 i believe there is a good and it's not too hard to tell the difference tough for you to say though
00:34:52.940 because you were raised in a christian household okay so there would be some of that that would
00:34:57.160 have trickled down into your heart okay so your framework would be but i agree with you to your
00:35:01.380 your baseline point. And here's the catch. We're the only faith system that says it's not about
00:35:05.980 being good because we cannot be good enough. So Jesus kind of did away with all that because
00:35:10.500 that's what religion was. Religion was working your way up to God. Every other faith, pray this 0.86
00:35:15.160 long, pray this hard, do this many good deeds. And then Jesus flipped it and said, I did all that for
00:35:21.760 you. Now all you have to do is come to me. That's what blew people's minds. That's why they were
00:35:26.380 like kill this dude right away kill him because if he's right everything we stand for is wrong 0.98
00:35:31.520 so do i want to be a good person absolutely um but i know that i'm gonna fail because i am a 0.99
00:35:38.020 sinner and i'm human that's why i need jesus not to get to be a better person like that's not
00:35:44.520 ultimately what jesus came to do to make people better people he came to transform your whole
00:35:48.860 soul but you're a sinner on whose accord uh well according to my faith and also according to what
00:35:55.840 we just talked about even if i wasn't a christian you know some things are wrong yeah but like 0.99
00:36:00.800 having sex before a marriage isn't in my opinion wrong but according to religion it is not religion
00:36:07.400 sorry christianity well this is where at our church we do it different okay so i would take
00:36:11.840 you to what i believe the bible says about this and i'd say you tell me you get to know jesus
00:36:16.620 here's what it says about sex god created it it's amazing it's phenomenal if you went to a church 0.87
00:36:21.720 that told you sex was bad. 1.00
00:36:23.260 There was that whole generation that was like, sex ain't bad, so you're crazy. 0.98
00:36:27.760 We put it in its context, and then God puts the parameters to make it the best you could 0.98
00:36:32.800 ever have it, which includes sex.
00:36:34.480 That's why God put it in the boundaries of marriage, not to take away from your life,
00:36:37.740 but to have the maximum value for what it is all about.
00:36:41.580 But you, Logan, have to make your call.
00:36:43.700 It can't be because your church said.
00:36:45.200 That's when people start to push back.
00:36:46.800 They run from stuff, and it was never a relationship with Jesus.
00:36:49.940 They push back from religion.
00:36:51.720 So that's kind of where I would take you.
00:36:53.760 Any question you'd ask me before I gave you my take on it, I'd say, well, let's go see what God said.
00:36:58.540 Because it's not about what I think is right.
00:37:00.500 If it was about me, golly, I'd be the worst God ever.
00:37:04.180 But let's see what God says.
00:37:06.380 You're talking about your God.
00:37:07.920 Yes. 1.00
00:37:08.340 If I was talking to a Muslim, the answer would be different. 1.00
00:37:11.400 So you've got to figure out. 1.00
00:37:13.120 But it's worth looking.
00:37:14.120 You've got to go, okay.
00:37:14.840 You've got to investigate.
00:37:15.520 I studied that.
00:37:17.020 I went to study some of those.
00:37:18.380 But this is where I get confused.
00:37:20.180 Like who's right and who's wrong? 1.00
00:37:21.720 Are Muslims wrong because they're Muslim?
00:37:24.700 Are Christians wrong because they're Christian?
00:37:27.040 And what are the consequences of being right and wrong?
00:37:29.160 Or are we all just people on an earth that was created by some guy and now we're here and it's up to us to discern what our future looks like?
00:37:35.000 Personally, if I could, I would be a universalist, which are the people who believe good stuff.
00:37:39.880 They talk to the universe.
00:37:41.000 That's what I do.
00:37:41.800 I know.
00:37:42.380 I know.
00:37:43.580 And whenever someone says that, like, man, the universe is giving me good stuff back, I'm always like, the universe doesn't know you.
00:37:49.660 It's definitely not the universe.
00:37:51.300 That cliff over there is not sending you good vibes back, okay?
00:37:54.120 I know it sounds good.
00:37:55.500 Sort of.
00:37:56.020 But the universe does know you because you are the universe.
00:38:00.440 Okay.
00:38:00.980 According to facts and atoms in your body and the way the universal matter, the makeup of this planet.
00:38:09.840 I'm okay with that.
00:38:11.040 Because I just, when I talk to the universe, I'm like, hey, yo, I wish for the best life ever.
00:38:17.480 I want to be the biggest user on the planet.
00:38:18.700 i'm speaking my thoughts and my desires into existence and i mean i know you've probably
00:38:26.120 heard and dabbled and have extreme experience with the word manifestation but i i word i high i i mean
00:38:32.280 i am a big believer in manifestation some people call that prayer it's exactly exactly it's the
00:38:39.100 almost exact same thing so it is so why tie an entire uh uh faith behind it that has so much
00:38:52.800 baggage and has led to so many disagreements and confusion and death he's also looking at
00:39:00.900 the negative so has the internet's done all that too and we don't write it off so the fact of like
00:39:06.940 First of all, we don't love conflict and we don't love tension.
00:39:09.800 Of course.
00:39:10.060 So if you talk to a millennial, if you talk to somebody who's getting four degrees in theology, you know, like we push back on anything that becomes absolute, even though that's what our souls crave.
00:39:19.620 So if you tell somebody there's one way, then people are like, that can't be right.
00:39:23.160 Like you don't hate other religions.
00:39:24.440 Correct.
00:39:25.040 And so it's we don't want the tension of really.
00:39:28.940 And you've expressed that in a good way.
00:39:30.680 I mean, you're saying you're really searching, you're looking, and you end up landing on something that's not so, in your mind, narrow.
00:39:37.620 And I always say our faith seems narrow, but like Jesus said, it's a narrow road, but it is a wide, expansive life.
00:39:45.140 So the fact that he laid out one road, to me, it doesn't make it exclusive.
00:39:49.920 It just makes it, of course, like if there were many options, why would I dedicate my whole life to this?
00:39:53.840 Yeah, I he he does talk about something and obviously he's right. Religion has led to some horrible things, but it's also led to some great things. You know what I'm saying? And depending on your and depending on what your interpretation of it is. But, you know, I found recovery and a road to this very second we live in through daily prayer and the belief that someone was helping me continue on this quest for a reason.
00:40:18.900 For sure. And that's and you know, and that's and that's just me. But I also believe that he is echoing a rising voice in this country right now, which is the tide of atheism. And what and what is your I mean, what if you had to give a very quick message to the to the atheist or or to the agnostic, the agnostic is a little bit different.
00:40:40.140 because because i'm not atheist right because because listen like just because he or or the
00:40:48.680 agnostic hasn't come up with an answer to it doesn't mean that they're not going to find one
00:40:54.420 he's at least open to this conversation right what do you say to the atheist that's turned off 1.00
00:41:01.320 that is very much yo you die you go in the fucking ground right you're the worms eat your brain and 1.00
00:41:07.760 And that is how your story ends. 1.00
00:41:09.480 What's your quick-hitting message to them?
00:41:11.580 And what do you encourage those people watching this show right now to do?
00:41:14.820 Well, firstly, at what point are we going to take up the offering?
00:41:17.580 I'm kidding.
00:41:18.300 I'm kidding.
00:41:18.940 I have a friend who's an atheist.
00:41:21.300 He's a genius.
00:41:21.860 And he broke it down really.
00:41:25.000 I said, is it fair to say that if you were going to snapshot an atheist belief, it would be we came from nothing, we're here to do nothing, and we're headed to nothing?
00:41:33.820 And he was like, it's a bit crass, but that's generally kind of where you're going to land.
00:41:37.760 And my first thing when I talk to atheists is that I love you and I want to be your friend. 0.90
00:41:42.300 You can't convince somebody to change their life. 0.76
00:41:44.680 You can't convince somebody there's enough proof.
00:41:46.960 There's a faith step that somebody has to look at.
00:41:50.360 And when I talk to atheists, I just say, you need to look at your whole life, all the miracles, all the things that have happened where you can't put a name on it and just keep your mind open. 0.78
00:41:59.280 Because the Bible is pretty clear. 0.90
00:42:00.400 If someone continually seeks God, they will find him.
00:42:04.100 And God doesn't have an expiration date either.
00:42:06.260 So I've known some stone-cold atheists who changed, and there's not like this moment where God writes anybody off.
00:42:12.040 I mean, you have the right to believe what you want to believe, but I would just say to an atheist, let's talk. 0.51
00:42:16.920 Let's keep talking. 0.84
00:42:17.860 You know, let's do this journey called life together, and eventually discussions open up.
00:42:24.380 Normally, this is funny.
00:42:25.640 I normally tell an atheist, I always say, convince me to be an atheist because that's a lot easier than what I believe.
00:42:30.560 I'm right here.
00:42:31.500 so if you can sit here right now convince me to be an atheist because people are like carl it's
00:42:36.480 hard to believe what you believe i'm like really it's hard to believe what logan believes you know
00:42:40.600 like you could take that to anybody he's closer because as he said he's not he's just he's just
00:42:45.940 he's you know undecided and and has a million people throwing a million different somebody
00:42:50.180 says prove to me there's a god i say we know you prove to me there isn't yep let's go like i don't
00:42:55.440 know why i'm on trial here it does it does if you really truly think about it the idea that this
00:43:02.160 that all of this just happened what just happened like like you go all the way back like i don't
00:43:07.420 know if you if in your faith you're a believer of the big of the big bang theory even if you go back
00:43:12.120 that that initial start that that that ignition sequence right and they and they've and they've
00:43:18.840 gone all the way back as scientists and tried to put together this idea that some pressure yeah
00:43:24.120 created that first step in the ignition
00:43:26.280 sequence that created the universe. And I
00:43:28.400 always just go back to the first thing they
00:43:30.380 bring up at the very beginning. An immense
00:43:32.340 pressure started. Oh yeah?
00:43:34.460 How? From where?
00:43:36.200 It just, an immense pressure
00:43:38.100 started. I'll tell you how. How?
00:43:40.160 Do you believe there's a chance that the
00:43:42.360 creator of the universe that we live in
00:43:44.040 is a hyper-advanced species that you can't
00:43:46.400 even fathom what they look like, do,
00:43:48.360 or can accomplish? Okay, yes.
00:43:50.220 We've talked about this before.
00:43:51.560 who do you create who created the first one
00:43:54.800 let me no no no no i'm telling i'm saying this advanced all right so before the big bang there's 0.99
00:44:01.840 nothing right right was there was that right was that nothing inside of a fucking test tube 0.99
00:44:07.080 inside a little ball by the way it's not a test tube but you can imagine no you can't you can't 0.99
00:44:11.760 even i can't even describe to you what this what this hyper advanced species would look like and
00:44:15.840 the reason i say this is because obviously like we're sort of spiraling through this idea of us
00:44:20.220 living in a simulation let's go maybe i am maybe i have i love it but like joe rogan channeling
00:44:25.140 right now get your dmt on deck what's in my water i just uh alex jones spit i just oh god
00:44:33.960 i think i heard elon must say this what like uh 50 years ago or so the most advanced video game
00:44:41.780 we had was was pong and now it's like you're you're in virtual reality you're in inside the
00:44:47.200 game can you imagine a century from now what video games would look like what people are able to
00:44:52.260 accomplish can you imagine a millennium from now what people are going to be able to accomplish
00:44:55.660 people i'm saying people there won't be no people in a thousand years i don't think i think we will
00:45:01.060 be taken over by the android race that we create that sounds fucking crazy i'm not wrong i'm not 0.89
00:45:06.760 fucking super intelligent absolutely no what i believe is crazy i think there is when it comes 0.92
00:45:12.600 to the the theory you just talked about mike someone once told me it's like taking every 0.98
00:45:16.260 piece of a rolex putting it in a box shaking that thing up and then it comes out of rolex that's
00:45:21.920 essentially you know what what what we're talking about with outside of you know god doing this and
00:45:27.320 my thing is it's always going to come down to faith like it can't be about statistics and
00:45:32.280 numbers because i have mine as a christian but i met with an astrophysicist he had his facts
00:45:37.040 absolutely and it takes just as much faith for you to believe those facts as it does me to believe
00:45:42.480 mind so you still love them but you still love the astrophysicist for sure but my point is like
00:45:47.300 you have to believe your numbers too and either way it's going to be a faith jump either way
00:45:52.400 there's not enough proof in the world for me to prove to somebody god is real because ultimately
00:45:57.220 it's almost cheap if it was like that there has to be a faith step by the way also one other side
00:46:03.560 thing and this is obviously just an ancillary benefit is like the the belief that i have in
00:46:10.480 and and and the faith that i have is kind of the one piece of like magic i have left in my life
00:46:16.640 in almost in a selfish way like as we it's in your life you know but like as we as we
00:46:22.620 as we get older and we become jaded all of those idea ideas and concepts that we had about
00:46:30.220 soulmates and and you know the perfect love which as we know obviously does not exist or or
00:46:35.840 you know i'm gonna fly when i grow up i'm gonna you know be an astral all those things that
00:46:40.360 that's in a lot of ways melt down one of the last things we truly hold on to is our faith and our
00:46:45.280 belief that and that's something greater that's why i believe religion and faith is so prominent
00:46:51.420 because it gives people purpose and it gives it makes people feel fulfilled i think i think people
00:46:56.720 hold on to it for that reason without maybe digging and searching a little but if that was
00:47:01.520 the reason well then even more power to it right like it gives people that's why i love it like
00:47:05.880 That's why I love it.
00:47:06.780 So I was going to ask you, do you believe religion is subjective person by person?
00:47:12.060 Is it for some people?
00:47:12.900 Is it for not?
00:47:13.780 Is it an absolute like you're saying?
00:47:15.480 Do you believe it?
00:47:16.160 Well, subjectivity would be absolute according to your perspective.
00:47:20.160 So on one hand, truth is.
00:47:22.020 Wait, wait, wait.
00:47:22.920 Hold on.
00:47:23.300 I got to catch up.
00:47:24.240 Well, you use the word subjective.
00:47:25.560 So, of course, from my subjective perspective, this is the only way.
00:47:29.600 For you.
00:47:30.340 But an objective perspective takes it back further.
00:47:33.560 And then you go, well, I guess there's a lot of options.
00:47:35.680 Right?
00:47:35.880 So do I believe it's subjective?
00:47:37.280 Well, for me, it is because it's my it's my view.
00:47:40.160 But yeah, that's that's a that's a tough way to kind of break it down.
00:47:44.300 I guess just do you I don't denounce isn't the right word, but do you do frown upon a religion that is not yours or that that doesn't agree with yours?
00:47:55.520 No, because I have empathy for those people because you think they're wrong.
00:47:59.100 Am I putting words in your mouth?
00:48:00.520 No, it's not empathy.
00:48:01.460 It's more like, first of all, let me go back to one thing you said.
00:48:03.520 Like, if my life, if this isn't true and I'm just doing this because I was an empty person and I needed purpose, I have wasted everything.
00:48:11.480 I didn't – it's not like I had time on my hands and I was like, let me pick something, right?
00:48:15.240 And I know that's not what you were saying, but, like, that's not why I'm a Christian.
00:48:19.140 It's because I need something to hang on to.
00:48:21.240 It provides that, and then Jesus does give purpose, but if this isn't about eternity, if this isn't about something more, then I've wasted my entire life.
00:48:30.400 So that's the only thing I'd say to that, because sometimes people will patronize Christians.
00:48:34.900 Oh, it's really sweet.
00:48:36.080 You needed something to do on Sunday.
00:48:38.600 You needed a nice little thing to teach your kids.
00:48:40.220 And it's like, this is not that.
00:48:41.740 Or something to fall into after preaching.
00:48:43.420 What Jesus was preaching was the most radical love revolution that has ever hit humanity, ever. 0.52
00:48:49.380 And this was not like a, come on, let's be nice white Anglo-Saxon Christians, you know, wear some khakis, part your hair and do the right things. 0.59
00:48:57.160 Jesus was saying forsake everything.
00:48:59.160 and we're going to love people so radically
00:49:01.200 that we're going to turn the world upside down.
00:49:03.580 That's our call to faith.
00:49:05.260 Is the church's depiction of Jesus racist?
00:49:08.440 Oh, here we go.
00:49:09.320 This is a big topic right now.
00:49:11.120 Sean King, did you hear about this?
00:49:13.660 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:49:15.140 So I think the essence of what Sean is saying,
00:49:18.500 who, full disclosure, is a friend.
00:49:20.220 I've known him for about 12 years.
00:49:22.640 The essence of what he's saying is
00:49:24.380 anything that promotes white supremacy,
00:49:26.620 it's got to go.
00:49:27.140 And there have been contexts where people have used a wrong depiction of Jesus to reinforce white supremacy.
00:49:35.480 Of course.
00:49:36.280 That's all it is.
00:49:37.540 It's absolutely happened.
00:49:38.640 So anybody who's pushing back on that, I can't figure them out.
00:49:41.300 Well, I think some of the people that are pushing back on it are people that are saying, yo, the depiction differs from country to country, religion to religion.
00:49:49.300 You see people in China that have a –
00:49:50.400 Most cultures contextualize Jesus.
00:49:52.340 So whether that's in Africa or that's in China.
00:49:54.380 And that's not the end of the world, but those cultures are not peddling that their race is superior.
00:49:59.960 I get that.
00:50:00.780 And so I understand that as a as a individual use case, utilizing the white Jesus for a wrong or wrongful cause is wrong.
00:50:09.300 But at the same time, do I think that not every utilization of white Jesus in a white, prominently white country is racist in its inception? 0.88
00:50:19.740 I think that's that's ridiculous to say.
00:50:21.960 It was one of the things that I speak with Sean a little bit, not as close to him as you are, but this was one of the ones that was a little bit more because here's the thing.
00:50:30.040 When you start to really – during this current climate, we should be investigating everything.
00:50:38.620 I'm not saying that.
00:50:39.380 But when you investigate everything through the lens that it's probably racist before the investigation is concluded and you have the true –
00:50:49.720 the way we are looking at it as a culture right now at everything from when i go tanning when i
00:50:56.320 go tanning right now when i walk out that door of that tanning salon i am perpetuating a racist act
00:51:04.220 by trying to darken my skin to to what used to be accepted as appearing more attractive right i have
00:51:12.520 the olive dark skin i'm an italian and i want to bring that out now every time someone goes
00:51:17.220 tanning or gets a spray tan they are risking the that investigation revealing that they have somehow
00:51:24.320 took place in a racist act cultural appropriation cultural appropriation this is what society does
00:51:30.360 though we take a truth we take the beauty of something which could be this moment and i do
00:51:34.500 believe this racial climate moment could be ones that our kids look back on my god as a i pray
00:51:40.500 that's what it will be it will be but um i i think we're fighting for reasonable people right now
00:51:45.320 reasonable people there's like a political lane for reasonable people there is a cultural lane
00:51:51.060 like let's do this with reason so okay let's start everything on its own investigation and
00:51:56.060 rather than blanket everything because right now you have classic insecure culture backlash is to
00:52:01.340 try to hop on a bandwagon you don't even know where it's going so it's like we can't be racist
00:52:05.080 let's hire two black people and put them on our board because we have to they're not they're not 0.74
00:52:09.520 upset that they're racist they're upset they got caught there's a big difference when you get hit 0.87
00:52:13.540 with something where are you upset that you got caught or are you upset that you're wrong with
00:52:17.980 racism right now it's about 50 50 some people are still as racist as they've ever been they're just
00:52:22.480 bummed that they got called out and there's other people that are going i got to reevaluate my whole
00:52:27.000 life because i didn't realize it was as bad as it is are we as a country uh reasonable enough
00:52:33.420 because you just talked about reasonable look at the political swing right now i mean we're we
00:52:38.600 epitomize what it looks like to not be reasonable you can't even have a discourse with somebody
00:52:42.920 right now it's either trump or no trump it's either racist or non-racist you can't even talk
00:52:47.580 about civil rights without someone calling you anti-police it doesn't matter what you say it's
00:52:52.160 so crazy because our culture doesn't want to think tension is the enemy so if i say we need
00:52:57.580 police reform and someone says you hate cops i say no you're you're unintelligent i'm not saying
00:53:02.440 that i think that our policemen and women are phenomenal and there's a lot of good ones but
00:53:06.000 this system has been broken for generations i'm allowed to call it out without calling hate to
00:53:11.340 these police officers and people are just like oh you're left you're left wing how do we fix that
00:53:15.600 it is this might be crazy optimistic but i think i think there's far less people with that attitude 0.51
00:53:21.880 than we'd think i because the internet there's there's a lot of highly fucking uh no sorry 0.99
00:53:27.360 there's a lot of dumb fucking people out there non-highly intelligent people ignorant folks 0.99
00:53:32.700 highly unintelligent highly unintelligent but i i i don't think they're that prominent and if they 1.00
00:53:39.020 are i bet they're being drowned out by the noise of the woke you hope i would hope but i'm with you
00:53:45.160 i'm optimistic i woke up optimistic today because i see i see a change but politics show us that's
00:53:50.800 not true yeah when you see when you think see things cut right down the middle when you see
00:53:54.920 no discourse that's when you find out people don't want to talk we even say we are we are
00:54:02.000 going to win i've seen more people um especially with churches you know hopefully like ours like
00:54:07.420 other churches that are refusing to let this narrative die we're seeing a lot of people go
00:54:11.740 you know i gotta change there's some things that maybe i've been so proud because when you're proud
00:54:16.400 when you're proud you can't hear anybody everything's a defense everything's an attack
00:54:20.140 but when you get a little bit more secure you can drop your hands and and have somebody talk to you
00:54:24.120 and even pride is pride is the the lower common the lower denominator on it because the higher one
00:54:31.660 is your ability to talk to someone,
00:54:35.820 understand that they have a differing belief from you,
00:54:37.580 but they still are you,
00:54:40.000 is all rooted in the one word we keep going back to,
00:54:42.860 which is love.
00:54:43.820 If you truly love each other,
00:54:46.240 the fact that someone's beliefs differ from you politically
00:54:48.820 should not deteriorate that love
00:54:50.880 that you have for the other person.
00:54:52.180 This is good ammo for y'all.
00:54:54.240 You know, people always say,
00:54:55.440 you're supposed to love one another.
00:54:56.800 Jesus took it up a notch and he said,
00:54:58.720 I want you to love people like I've loved you.
00:55:00.640 yeah that sucks because you know how jesus loved people without condition before they even turned
00:55:07.500 and looked at him so if it was about loving people that i love we're good but it's those people that
00:55:12.580 i cannot stand that's the that's where i need that's the test yeah yeah and hey shout out to
00:55:18.240 y'all for using this platform i saw what y'all said about some of the it's not enough to be
00:55:22.480 racist anti-racist i just no i think that it's hard people don't know what it's like to try to
00:55:27.060 manage a brand that should be known for one thing and start to say you know what yeah that's that's
00:55:32.180 what we are but we're also people that care and i just think it's awesome like if everybody does
00:55:36.780 that on their platform um even if it costs them um so be it but just well done on that there's
00:55:43.100 there's a there's a few things that we we do believe are absolutes and that was one of them 0.91
00:55:46.800 like i i just i don't give a fuck because that's one of the things i believe is right 0.88
00:55:52.120 if you're on the opposite side you're wrong 0.99
00:55:54.820 and I will fight to my death
00:55:57.600 and that's my stance 1.00
00:55:59.200 if you don't agree with me like fuck off 1.00
00:56:00.580 you're wrong 1.00
00:56:01.200 one of my daughters has that stance 1.00
00:56:04.260 I gotta always moderate her insta right now 1.00
00:56:06.740 she's like dad I don't have time for people
00:56:08.420 that don't believe what I believe on this one
00:56:10.920 I got a question for you
00:56:11.760 you actually talked about this topic on October 27th
00:56:15.220 2017 on the Breakfast Club
00:56:16.500 I just watched the interview last night
00:56:17.780 you were talking about how Kaepernick at the time was being vilified
00:56:20.320 that's right
00:56:20.820 I mean, literally, like, you couldn't be more right as of today, not of today, but, you know, the past couple months.
00:56:27.680 You've been woke.
00:56:28.460 Yeah, you've been on this wave for a long time.
00:56:30.400 I mean, it's incredible, but you were, like, very outspoken about it from very early on.
00:56:34.440 We got killed for it, too.
00:56:35.600 Really?
00:56:36.040 Yeah, yeah.
00:56:36.940 Which I'm happy, too.
00:56:37.880 I mean, it's not like we were martyrs.
00:56:39.480 It's just was like, are you kidding me?
00:56:40.760 Like, if you don't get this, and this is years ago when all that stuff went down. 0.86
00:56:44.800 Eric Garner died right in our city, and it turned everything upside down, and we were just like, man, this is ridiculous. 1.00
00:56:50.000 Like, of course, Black Lives Matter. Of course, Colin Kaepernick is not anti-America. 0.61
00:56:56.040 I mean, the media don't want to play. The soldiers that would sit there and say, that's why I'm in a wheelchair.
00:57:02.520 So that man could do that. But we, yeah, I have a belief that humans deserve dignity.
00:57:10.220 And especially when it comes to race, you cannot say you're a Christian and have some of this stuff hanging around your life.
00:57:17.960 And I'll give you this.
00:57:18.900 I don't want to over-talk.
00:57:20.020 I'm having fun, though.
00:57:20.840 You are the guest.
00:57:21.740 You're the guest.
00:57:22.960 Please talk as much as you want.
00:57:25.660 So we have like a three-step plan.
00:57:28.140 It's really simple for people who want to just rid their lives of racism.
00:57:32.960 It's really simple.
00:57:33.980 You have to treat it like COVID.
00:57:36.200 Okay?
00:57:36.400 Can you imagine if our country attacked racism like we did that virus?
00:57:40.580 Like you see someone without a mask in a store?
00:57:42.360 Three steps.
00:57:43.180 Ready?
00:57:43.600 Number one, assume everybody has it.
00:57:46.400 Remember that?
00:57:46.880 When COVID first came out, it was like, oh, my gosh, I got to go home, check my own self.
00:57:50.800 I got to take my temperature.
00:57:52.260 Like the first part of battling this is to look in before you judge out.
00:57:55.740 So assume everybody has it.
00:57:56.920 Number two, listen to the experts.
00:57:59.620 Like when COVID hit in New York, we lost thousands of people.
00:58:01.980 But I watched every day.
00:58:03.140 I had like a satellite with like the governor, the mayor.
00:58:06.540 I was listening to random dark web things about the virus.
00:58:09.840 Like I was voraciously destroying information so I could learn.
00:58:13.480 If people do that, even your viewers who are like, OK, I'm going to assume I have this thing called racism.
00:58:18.820 I'm going to listen to experts, listen to people who don't support what you support.
00:58:22.740 White people got to stop telling other white people how to not be racist. 0.70
00:58:26.020 Right. You're going to have to listen to people who might shock you. 0.97
00:58:28.120 And then thirdly, you have to completely be willing to change your entire life to eradicate it because that's what we've done with COVID.
00:58:35.320 We shut down our whole economy that will affect us for like decades and decades because we're so weary of this virus.
00:58:42.200 That's what you have to do with something like racism.
00:58:44.400 That last one's tricky for a lot of older folks, especially older folks in the South.
00:58:48.780 I grew up in Virginia, capital of the Confederacy, so I get it.
00:58:52.720 I've seen videos of, and this kind of stuff breaks my heart because besides the fact that racism is so deep-rooted in this country, it's so deep-rooted in people.
00:59:01.460 I saw this TikTok of this Generation Z, a young lady, arguing with her father, who is very clearly a racist.
00:59:12.420 And she's like, oh, this isn't right.
00:59:14.220 This is systemic racism.
00:59:15.560 Oh, I saw that.
00:59:16.020 I saw that too.
00:59:16.980 It went viral.
00:59:17.860 It just breaks my heart because the kids are now more woke and morally sound than the adults.
00:59:25.700 And we said this on this podcast before too.
00:59:27.680 i really do believe millennials and generation z and you kind of said it too we will win 1.00
00:59:31.480 we will win this shit the racists will be eradicated hate will be eradicated 0.99
00:59:35.960 hopefully for the most part right but um if we just keep fighting the good fight and we're going 0.99
00:59:42.320 to rely on the people the audience of this podcast and and and the audience of this podcast when they
00:59:46.540 have kids to keep perpetuating this message right eventually 50 years from now hopefully 100 years
00:59:52.040 from now we will be a a morally sound community we will act as one unity as a human race yeah
01:00:00.240 it's a cool it's a cool it's not a utopia but it's a cool it's a cool wave to be a part of
01:00:05.500 think about the guy who killed ahmaud arbery right he was raised by parents from the jim crow era
01:00:11.800 so that man who shot him he had parents so he was raised in a culture where his parents would
01:00:16.900 have taught him that uh black people were subhuman what would jesus say to all to that guy 0.92
01:00:21.080 which guy no okay so wait this is crazy but i put money that those dudes are christian no of course 0.92
01:00:28.140 i'm sure they would claim to be we have such that's what i'm saying so yeah so that's but
01:00:33.280 that that to me has never deterred me though from being a christian because when has that not
01:00:38.680 happened to everything that matters like the presence of bad cannot negate good like some 0.60
01:00:44.420 planes crash some ceos cheat um some youtubers are absolute clowns but some are geniuses right
01:00:52.280 so i just refuse to ever let the narrative be like because there's bad christians nobody does 0.75
01:00:56.600 that with any other genre of life no one only with christianity people no one goes to a bad
01:01:00.820 movie and they're like i'm never doing movies again you make a good point no one goes to a
01:01:04.460 restaurant has a bad meal and goes food's done forever no you go to the next one but we it's a
01:01:09.360 very convenient thing to say no no i've been to four churches and they all sucked really if there's
01:01:14.600 something deeper here you might want to go to restaurant number five five go to the cracker
01:01:19.100 barrel dude bennegan's i can't i'm excited for this super intelligence conversation man do you
01:01:25.380 does that kind of stuff do you like the conspiracy stuff are you against it is it anti-religious so
01:01:30.720 like a lot of people have a ton of fun with that stuff i i listened to a uh in person to a talk
01:01:35.640 what's your biggest conspiracy you love okay so he he mentioned it so this this idea of super
01:01:41.960 intelligence is i'm saying it right now not a conspiracy it's happening okay and and as as we
01:01:49.240 look around right now and this is this is ai that we are creating as a people not i'm not talking
01:01:53.520 about simulation theory i'm not talking about uh uh you know yeah this this uh planetary other
01:01:59.940 planetary intelligence talking about ai that we are creating growing too powerful to a place that
01:02:06.920 we cannot control it anymore they call it escaping the sandbox all of the all of the super ai that's
01:02:12.580 being created right now exists in a sandbox meaning cut off from all mobile devices you don't bring a
01:02:18.460 mobile phone in it can't have access to the internet one day someone will slip up they will
01:02:24.020 forget their phone is in their pocket something will happen and the only the one direction that
01:02:29.280 ai is pushed as we create it is to learn that's what we create ai to do and right now the ai that's
01:02:35.300 being created in those safe sandboxes in government laboratories and laboratory private laboratories
01:02:39.680 is learning that's all it does it just learns all day learn learn learn learn learn and and we you 0.61
01:02:46.000 know musk is is a big part and and and other uh and facebook as well have created these anti um
01:02:52.820 or super intelligent protection groups where they're donating millions and millions of dollars
01:02:57.280 for what happens when the ai escapes the sandbox there was a there was a popular saying i heard
01:03:03.120 this guy crazy there was a saying that this guy said that he was talking about this guy that wrote
01:03:07.700 this book called uh about this thing called cassandra's which are people that tell you
01:03:12.040 something bad's about to happen and no one listens to them and they end up being right
01:03:15.200 and there's this one guy that says karen and cassandra those names but he said that super
01:03:22.880 intelligence uh looks at yeah it's called warnings it's a great book um super intelligence
01:03:28.740 looks at you the way someone laying the foundation for a house looks at an anthill
01:03:34.240 they don't think of the morality of knocking that anthill out of the way they just keep laying the 0.75
01:03:39.100 fucking foundation you know what i'm saying and so it's it's a very interesting topic and i want 0.85
01:03:42.720 to have someone from the super intelligence community on the show but i was just curious 0.98
01:03:46.900 what your beliefs are on it so i if you would have told somebody from last century that we're
01:03:53.820 going to devise a bomb that's going to take out a giant portion of a country and it's going to
01:03:58.980 like you would have been like no way they go they go yo it's a bomb yeah what is a bomb the brain
01:04:04.020 the brain is the most spectacular supercomputer ever created absolutely so i have no doubt that
01:04:09.580 people are are you know working right now at stuff we couldn't fathom 100 couldn't even fathom
01:04:15.540 the brain is the last frontier everybody says space is the last frontier i tell you we know
01:04:19.220 more about space than we do the inside of the human mind yeah like like it is a it is a
01:04:23.720 crazy crazy place and i i really do want to bring someone on the show that talks about that yeah and
01:04:29.180 you should i got a doctor you should have on you know when it comes to your brain and your mental
01:04:33.000 health i i think you know dr adam yeah is that what you were gonna say he did my brain scan 1.00
01:04:38.520 did he sharp guy oh shit so did you you you find out if you had brain damage and what it does 0.99
01:04:43.120 He said I'm a sociopath. 1.00
01:04:45.020 We've known that. 0.90
01:04:46.020 We've known that.
01:04:46.980 No, he said my temporal lobes have been…
01:04:50.180 Deteriorated.
01:04:51.240 Probably muted.
01:04:52.460 Which, yeah, in many ways is true.
01:04:55.080 And believe it or not, it's the region of your brain that affects your empathy.
01:04:59.760 Yeah.
01:05:00.500 But then I grew up and I have empathy now.
01:05:02.120 So did my brain go back?
01:05:05.320 You probably worked on healing your brain because people don't know that, like, especially with your audience,
01:05:10.120 your audience which would be filled with amazing people who are probably trying to you know do
01:05:14.860 something big with their lives there's there's stuff you have to take care of in your brain
01:05:19.060 and and once you get a handle on that it's so freeing because we live in a culture now
01:05:22.900 that the taboo is gone you know especially christians we used to have the worst taboo it's
01:05:27.880 like just pray pray and your brain will get better it's like yeah pray and go to a doctor
01:05:31.520 but for anybody who's struggling with mental stuff like they're you're definitely not alone
01:05:37.300 Is there anything that you would help? Is there anything you would suggest to young people right now outside of the scope of religion or the Bible or anything that could help improve their lives?
01:05:45.440 Well, yeah. I mean, even if you don't believe who Jesus is, some of the stuff that we believe is still going to change your life.
01:05:51.600 Like being kind to people is the better way to live. Being honest is a better way to live.
01:05:56.480 Putting others before yourself is a much more fulfilling life, regardless of who you believe generated it.
01:06:01.480 um but i i just think you know if you don't have somebody to talk to you got to find somebody to
01:06:05.740 talk to because we live in a world where you have so much stuff but you feel alone all the time and
01:06:11.760 all all quarantine did was exacerbate that times 60 like we won't even know the effects of what
01:06:16.980 these couple months have done until years from now from a mental health you find out how much
01:06:21.840 you need you find out how much your soul loves people and how much you need interaction and
01:06:25.840 there's a lot of people now who are like oh my gosh like i didn't realize how empty my life was
01:06:29.820 until everything got shut off
01:06:31.680 and that's something you got to deal with
01:06:33.780 you probably have to also find out how much you don't need
01:06:35.800 you probably 1.00
01:06:36.780 flush out the shit that 1.00
01:06:40.000 you definitely don't need in your life 0.99
01:06:41.360 I know a lot of the exhibit A
01:06:43.820 dude I'm okay that I haven't been out
01:06:45.720 I'm great dude so there was a party last night
01:06:47.900 that we got invited to and I
01:06:49.700 thought of this idea of being in this
01:06:52.040 party atmosphere with not
01:06:53.920 talking to anybody about anything meaningful and just
01:06:55.760 standing there just like looking 0.99
01:06:57.740 around at this shit and I was like 0.99
01:06:59.780 I don't want to do that. 0.99
01:07:00.960 Like it taught me things about me now.
01:07:03.600 I'm not knocking that lights out because I definitely have been there. 0.99
01:07:06.140 And, you know, I told you when you walked in today, you were like, damn, 0.99
01:07:09.260 you guys all got girlfriends. 0.99
01:07:10.500 This place could have made a cool bachelor pad.
01:07:12.180 I go, I go, it did make a cool bachelor pad. 1.00
01:07:14.760 You have no idea the shit we fucking done. 0.99
01:07:16.920 It's the coolest house. 1.00
01:07:18.220 Yeah.
01:07:18.620 Golly.
01:07:19.280 No, I think it's a, it's a good, uh, quarantine was a,
01:07:22.200 was a great revealer for a lot of people.
01:07:24.440 Yeah, for sure.
01:07:24.900 You know what you need and what you don't need.
01:07:26.420 End, end, end of show, or as we move towards it, maybe.
01:07:29.780 I want to ask you about end of days.
01:07:32.140 You see, we got a plague going on.
01:07:35.180 I'm sure there's some locusts flying around somewhere.
01:07:37.860 I saw one the other day.
01:07:38.820 It was in my backyard with my truck today.
01:07:41.160 Logan just bought a horse, so we just need two more horsemen.
01:07:45.980 You didn't show me the horses.
01:07:47.440 Oh, they're in the back.
01:07:48.760 Piggy Smalls is the illest.
01:07:50.660 We have to go a little further to get to the horses.
01:07:52.520 They're elsewhere.
01:07:53.100 There's way, way, way.
01:07:53.920 Any evidence that we're moving towards a second coming, a revelation?
01:07:57.800 So every generation is a prisoner of the moment, right?
01:08:00.680 So there's preachers right now making money, as they do, off of end time stuff, which I don't agree or disagree. 0.79
01:08:07.200 My point is, if you would have told Jewish people during the Holocaust that that was the end of days, they would have been like, yeah.
01:08:13.500 So when you see younger, theologically sound people right now saying these are the end of days, I always go, you know what? 0.91
01:08:19.220 Like my favorite, it's called eschatology, the study of end times.
01:08:22.980 My favorite eschatology scripture to take people to is when Jesus said, how about you not worry about tomorrow?
01:08:28.680 Because today has just enough for you to handle.
01:08:31.400 Like even if I knew the exact date and time, which Jesus was really clear, nobody will know.
01:08:36.280 What good is that going to do me?
01:08:38.020 And I think so for me, there's a lot to say on it.
01:08:41.200 I don't know.
01:08:41.840 It's one of those areas in our faith that it's really important to know.
01:08:45.700 But the main thing is what you can't miss is that we have no idea what tomorrow holds.
01:08:50.840 zero opportunity to get any of it back. So feel free to live today like it was the last day you're
01:08:56.520 ever going to live. Treat somebody like they matter. Don't worry about when the skies are
01:09:00.480 going to part and when the locusts are going to peck out your eyes. I don't know if locusts have
01:09:04.060 beasts, have beaks. If you want to study eschatology, go for your life. But my thing is
01:09:09.940 why do that when you can just write today? What can you do today to change your life,
01:09:15.000 to make somebody else's life better? I'm busy doing that to worry about when the end of days
01:09:19.840 are but these are these are some rough ones but you can't tell me they were worse than the holocaust 0.82
01:09:23.520 absolutely you can't tell a a black person in our country that was was still in slavery and there
01:09:28.720 are still people who are in their hundreds that didn't just talk about this they live this you
01:09:32.740 can't tell somebody who's had their whole family you know raped and pillaged and murdered um but
01:09:37.580 that wasn't the end days so i always tell younger people like chill out that there have been bad
01:09:41.580 times before what what are uh what two cities are sodom and gomorrah on the map that's so funny
01:09:49.320 Is L.A. one of them?
01:09:50.200 I love L.A., I love New York, I love Vegas.
01:09:53.920 That's the thing.
01:09:54.440 We put heavier penalties on sin when God doesn't.
01:09:58.620 So we look at Vegas, strippers, drugs, like this life.
01:10:02.040 Well, it's just as sinful to be in your little North Dakota home being super proud and being super judgmental.
01:10:08.840 These sins aren't different.
01:10:10.020 The consequences are different.
01:10:11.240 But God doesn't see Vegas and go, that's bad.
01:10:14.020 And then look at Vineyard and Vines, Connecticut, whatever.
01:10:17.300 Nantucket, whatever.
01:10:18.000 Nantucket.
01:10:18.540 And these people are less sinful because their sins aren't as abrasive as some.
01:10:23.280 Or apparent.
01:10:23.720 So I think every place has the potential to be a Sodom and Gomorrah.
01:10:28.160 Every single place does.
01:10:29.660 Can you – this is a two-part question.
01:10:33.460 One, what do you think of people – and this is – Logan will like this. 0.95
01:10:36.500 I talked to some Christians or fuck the air quotes, just Christians that say, I believe, uh, in Christ because I'd rather be wrong about it and die than to, or I'd rather be right. 0.98
01:10:55.580 Or what I, I'd rather be wrong about it than die than to be right in my beliefs of not believing in Christianity and die and not go to heaven. 1.00
01:11:01.600 It's called hedging your bets.
01:11:02.640 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:11:03.460 What are your thoughts on hedging your bets?
01:11:05.480 Interesting logic.
01:11:06.500 So the logic goes like this, like if I spend my whole life following Jesus Christ and do everything he says and it comes to the end of the line and I'm wrong, I will have spent my whole life loving my enemies, giving out of everything I have, building my life as a bridge for others, reaching the marginalized, fighting for the needy, putting myself second.
01:11:31.240 And so if that logic says that this could be untrue, those people are saying, I still lived a better life than you.
01:11:38.120 So if you pick that wild whatever over there where you were God and everybody was supposed to be your footstool and you were better than everybody, well, when you get to the end of the line, your wrong was wrong.
01:11:51.300 100%.
01:11:51.780 Right?
01:11:52.220 So that baseline logic is if I'm wrong, man, I really sacrificially chose a life that honors all of humanity.
01:12:00.880 It's like, what a bummer.
01:12:02.340 I find that really interesting.
01:12:03.220 I think that kind of ties back into a question that I don't know if we answered earlier that Logan had, which is kind of about people believing in the Bible, this whole thing that was laid out and written down.
01:12:13.440 And your thing was more so why would you factor into that when you could go out and make your own decisions and think about things and live your own life?
01:12:20.560 Do you see the Bible as a codex, a book that is a technology, as a foundation for human living or more so – not more so anything.
01:12:29.800 But can you kind of talk about that?
01:12:31.540 Yeah, great question.
01:12:32.560 So there's a lot of views on it.
01:12:34.540 I try to look at the Bible like a letter.
01:12:37.600 Some would say it's a love letter from God to you, from Genesis to Revelation.
01:12:42.600 And that opened up my eyes because if you look at the Bible like a textbook or like a morality compass or like a religious tool, it loses its power because it's never supposed to be that.
01:12:52.620 It's supposed to be a living revelation.
01:12:54.780 So for me, I look at the Bible as a lot of things.
01:12:57.640 It's God's word.
01:12:58.340 I believe it's something that can shape your whole being.
01:13:01.700 I believe it's how we know right from wrong because sometimes our feelings will lie to us.
01:13:06.840 Because it has a lot of answers, right?
01:13:08.400 Absolutely.
01:13:08.660 When people come to you and they have questions and you don't say from your own personal thing, but you give them where it's written down, what would God say about this?
01:13:15.880 And the Bible is like a weapon.
01:13:17.060 I mean, there's a lot of people who use guns wrong.
01:13:19.360 It doesn't mean guns are bad.
01:13:20.740 There's a lot of people who have used the Bible to hurt people and to use it as a weapon of mass destruction.
01:13:26.220 and our goal is to get it back to what it should be.
01:13:28.640 You know, you check this out.
01:13:29.660 It can be a textbook if you want it to be.
01:13:31.340 It can be something you put on your nightstand
01:13:33.200 that you put your Jack Daniels on top of
01:13:35.540 or it can be something where you start trying to hear
01:13:38.260 from something that you're reading
01:13:39.960 and that to me is when it gets a little bit interesting.
01:13:43.900 Can I ask some fun questions?
01:13:46.160 I mean, I thought I was a ball of fun the whole time.
01:13:49.020 No, sorry, sorry, sorry.
01:13:49.960 These are just fun to me
01:13:52.140 because, again, sometimes I get confused.
01:13:54.580 I don't understand.
01:13:55.120 All right. 0.99
01:13:56.380 Are there any religions that you think are just straight-up silly? 1.00
01:14:01.140 You know, get me in trouble. 0.99
01:14:03.020 No, I—
01:14:04.200 Like Scientology, you're not like, hey, I don't know.
01:14:06.980 The moment someone, a Christian, says Scientology is crazy, I always say, do you know what you believe?
01:14:12.560 Okay. 0.52
01:14:13.260 You believe in a virgin birth?
01:14:15.380 You believe a guy walked on water?
01:14:16.820 Parting the sea? 1.00
01:14:17.420 You believe that this guy healed lepers? 1.00
01:14:19.480 You believe he raised the dead? 0.95
01:14:20.580 So before you judge a Scientologist, make sure you check your own crazy beliefs.
01:14:25.120 So no, because the same measure of judgment I use for them, I got two pointing back at me. 0.98
01:14:30.300 So I don't think anybody's religion is silly. 0.93
01:14:31.980 I might not get it, but I'd like to hear why you worship dogs and have crystals in your house. 0.89
01:14:37.920 I want to know. 0.98
01:14:38.780 Would you be willing to say, hey, after they told you if they had a silly answer, yo, that your dog worshiping and crystal worshiping is silly? 0.99
01:14:46.060 Or would you? 0.99
01:14:46.380 If I knew them well enough.
01:14:47.880 No, no, no.
01:14:48.320 If I knew them well enough.
01:14:49.920 Like you'll just let them go, do their thing?
01:14:51.740 Most of the time I'm ready to learn.
01:14:53.180 Okay. 1.00
01:14:53.440 Um, but there are times where I will say, Hey man, you're, you're, you're crazy. 0.99
01:14:58.920 This is, this makes no sense logically, as long as you know that. 0.91
01:15:02.840 So yeah, there are times when, have you seen Book of Mormon?
01:15:05.920 Uh, the, the play?
01:15:07.320 No.
01:15:08.380 You should watch it.
01:15:09.020 Okay.
01:15:09.360 It's great.
01:15:09.900 Have you seen Hamilton?
01:15:11.080 Uh, I have to see it.
01:15:13.140 I have to see it.
01:15:14.060 I was going to take a, nevermind.
01:15:15.220 Is it as hard still to see that show?
01:15:18.060 Is it, is it, what's going on on Broadway?
01:15:19.680 Is it, is there no shutdown, shutdown, right?
01:15:21.320 New York, any weird conspiracy theorists out there who think that COVID's not real, please come to New York.
01:15:27.340 I had it.
01:15:28.780 We've done Zoom funerals. 0.58
01:15:31.300 You've had COVID-19? 0.86
01:15:32.380 First week.
01:15:33.100 Whoa.
01:15:33.400 It all went down.
01:15:34.320 Wow.
01:15:34.860 Yeah, that's right.
01:15:35.440 I brought my own microphone.
01:15:36.480 That was dangerous.
01:15:38.140 You don't know where that microphone's being met.
01:15:38.960 No, now I have the antibodies, but we got to it first.
01:15:41.920 That's why everywhere in the country is spiking right now, except for New York.
01:15:45.000 It's because everybody had it.
01:15:46.740 It's not because we did die.
01:15:47.820 New York, I'd love to get some of those antibodies swallowed.
01:15:50.120 yeah but um yes that's that's my second second question and like i i just asked this because
01:15:55.740 okay just to give you a sense of the type of person i am i'm so uh overly logical
01:16:04.180 like i run my life with a lot of logic and rational thought i'd like to think um for example
01:16:11.560 like when i was going through puberty and i didn't understand like how a boy could make this magic
01:16:17.280 potion that could create a baby
01:16:18.720 but also like pee comes out of the same hole
01:16:21.100 I was like mom what happens if you like going to make 0.99
01:16:23.160 this ejaculate 0.99
01:16:25.300 this sperm and you pee at the same time 0.99
01:16:27.320 like that's it didn't make sense to me I just don't get it 0.97
01:16:29.560 my question
01:16:31.340 now is it didn't make 0.96
01:16:33.360 sense to me it doesn't make fucking sense 0.78
01:16:35.180 fair call it still doesn't make sense 0.84
01:16:37.120 I'm 41 my mom had a great answer by the way
01:16:39.220 shout out Pam she said honey I think one
01:16:41.160 reaction one sensation overrides the
01:16:43.240 other she was right
01:16:44.280 but again I was 12 I was like this is
01:16:47.220 Like, this is going to hurt immensely if I have to pee in this thing and this is happening.
01:16:50.620 Anyways, this question is kind of like that. 0.96
01:16:52.220 But in a real, like, tactical, like, this might not make any sense, but if you really think about it, it fucking does. 0.94
01:16:59.160 Zero. 0.96
01:16:59.760 The year.
01:17:00.340 Zero. 0.99
01:17:01.600 That was the foundation of Christianity, correct? 0.93
01:17:05.300 Help me.
01:17:05.800 I mean, technically, the foundation of Christianity. 0.80
01:17:08.900 Was negative 32.
01:17:10.940 It's a tough one to answer because we believe God is the founder of Christianity because Jesus was God.
01:17:16.180 So it's like a very big ball of a cocktail.
01:17:20.120 It's a whole different zero.
01:17:21.060 It's not zero between BC and AD.
01:17:23.040 But the pillars of Christianity and the Ten Commandments, the Bible around that time even?
01:17:30.540 Well, Ten Commandments is way up here in the Old Testament.
01:17:33.420 Okay.
01:17:33.940 What year was that?
01:17:35.560 Well, I mean, if we start going with – what year do you think it was?
01:17:40.200 What ADs are you talking about?
01:17:41.900 Or what's the end of the line here?
01:17:43.520 And maybe I can get there quicker.
01:17:44.480 What's the end of my – okay, my question is this.
01:17:46.180 So before the pillars of Christianity and religion, the rights and wrongs, the sins were noted and set in stone, quite literally.
01:17:55.060 A Bible pun.
01:17:56.380 How were humans operating? 1.00
01:18:00.500 Were they just like the cavemen, for example, homo sapiens, just going around being fuck asses, not knowing what's right. 1.00
01:18:07.280 Some go to heaven, some go to hell. 1.00
01:18:08.680 You cross your fingers, you maybe do this, you maybe do that.
01:18:11.920 Were they penalized?
01:18:13.220 So although God created the universe, he didn't play a role in the first 10,000 years of humanity.
01:18:21.240 Yeah.
01:18:21.560 So if you go to Adam and Eve, which is really an interesting place to go before you go anywhere else, what was God's picture of humanity?
01:18:31.600 And you see it in Adam and Eve.
01:18:33.340 They live without shame.
01:18:34.740 They live without fear.
01:18:36.060 They live without contention.
01:18:38.580 God literally gave them the right to name everything.
01:18:40.820 And then when sin entered the picture, the first thing they did was put on stuff to cover themselves up.
01:18:47.380 This is the introduction of shame and guilt and what sin can do to a soul.
01:18:52.000 So when it comes to what people were doing, I think I look at it with this time in the Garden of Eden where Adam and Eve were living in this beautiful picture of what the world, humanity could be if God was who we think he is for many.
01:19:08.240 And then sin happens.
01:19:09.520 and now the trickle effect is where we sit right now that's how simple i keep it so i don't know
01:19:15.680 what the cavemen were doing i don't know what dinosaurs had wings i don't know if people have
01:19:20.080 always been um jealous or angry but i do know the original picture was one without shame and
01:19:26.300 without guilt and without fear and and that's why but that doesn't raise a red flag at all
01:19:32.560 well what like the fact that again like the first 10 000 years of humanity homo sapiens
01:19:37.500 there was no direction there was no religion
01:19:39.640 one of my theories on this
01:19:41.740 is that it's the advent
01:19:43.560 of conscious awareness of like human
01:19:45.700 reflection understanding I think therefore
01:19:47.680 I am you know we
01:19:49.220 recognize that okay this thing I'm doing
01:19:51.680 is bad right
01:19:53.080 deer in the wilderness walk around they eat
01:19:55.740 they pee they poop and they
01:19:57.040 have babies that's they're living 0.84
01:19:59.740 but they're not consciously aware that
01:20:01.300 maybe they the stud bull shouldn't
01:20:03.620 be walking around sleeping with all the 0.78
01:20:05.340 little does in the in the club mad does yeah but but is is uh one of my theories is that jesus was
01:20:13.500 kind of this first uh real conscious uprising uh a mega uh upheaval of conscious awareness of what
01:20:22.560 makes a human being uh able to recognize what it takes to live a better life so it was martin
01:20:28.860 luther king sure but there's there's people throughout all of antiquity that have had
01:20:33.620 elevated abilities to think and have
01:20:35.620 awareness and understanding of
01:20:37.220 what is happening. Because not everyone
01:20:39.680 is smart. Cavemen, they probably didn't know very much.
01:20:42.240 They knew, make fire, 0.99
01:20:44.060 kill the animals, make babies, 0.97
01:20:45.980 stay warm.
01:20:47.340 But eventually, over time, they started to
01:20:49.760 learn things and have an understanding
01:20:52.020 of who they are.
01:20:53.960 Is this right? Is this wrong?
01:20:56.260 And where to go from there.
01:20:57.040 Also, too, discounting the cavemen's
01:21:00.080 ability to
01:21:01.100 follow God is simply based on the belief that Jesus as a vehicle for God was
01:21:09.540 the start point.
01:21:10.580 And I,
01:21:10.760 and I don't think that you're saying that that's not the case.
01:21:12.700 I mean,
01:21:12.880 God existed since the beginning and how he,
01:21:15.140 and how he manifested himself prior to Jesus Christ as a vehicle could have
01:21:18.600 been multiple different formats,
01:21:20.280 could have been epitaphs on,
01:21:21.360 on,
01:21:21.640 on caves.
01:21:22.260 It could have been Adam and Eve's children passing the word on of what they
01:21:26.120 saw in the garden of Eden.
01:21:27.100 I mean,
01:21:27.920 you know,
01:21:28.580 jesus as a vehicle exists was was and completing the trilogy as we know it has a very set time
01:21:34.400 time frame but before that i'm sure there was something so you know or there could have been
01:21:37.920 i don't know yeah there are people who try to dumb down christianity so the bible says god
01:21:42.080 created the earth in seven days there's different theories of what those days represented how many
01:21:46.840 years but my why our faith sometimes why i think it'd be helpful to if you want to stay there and
01:21:54.200 get into that kind of minutiae and it's important can be important or we can go here to what we know
01:22:00.000 for sure and work our way back and let's talk about your thought life let's talk about that
01:22:05.180 right hold on and then kind of sometimes work your way back to some of these you know facts
01:22:11.380 and some of these eras and some of these theologies that can often trip people up as well so I'm all
01:22:17.880 for it I just think sometimes it's like people want to talk like one time a guy was like Carl
01:22:21.600 I will not be a Christian unless you can prove to me that dinosaurs are real.
01:22:25.560 I'm like, okay, well, do you want to talk about the trial that you're in right now?
01:22:29.000 And what happens if the judge says you're guilty?
01:22:32.440 We're working on things that you can't fix.
01:22:34.240 We got a fire in our lap right now, and you want to talk about that star.
01:22:37.980 Why do you want to know if the dinosaur equals Christianity?
01:22:41.880 What's that?
01:22:43.160 I'm just curious.
01:22:43.980 Why did dinosaur equal Christianity?
01:22:45.300 Because that's often what people will come to me with first.
01:22:48.700 They'll just – because they think that we don't think about that.
01:22:51.600 We don't care about that.
01:22:52.600 So he thought dinosaurs were fake?
01:22:54.800 He thought that all Christians did, right?
01:22:57.440 He thought that all Christians thought that dinosaurs didn't exist. 0.99
01:23:00.080 Right.
01:23:00.400 So everyone has one of those red herring questions where, like, if you can tell God to move that rock, I will come to church.
01:23:06.940 And it's like, bro, it's not going to happen.
01:23:08.280 Like, you know, he's moved a couple of rocks before.
01:23:10.180 You should give it a shot next time and just hope that it will happen.
01:23:14.500 You're like, oh, yeah, you want to see that happen?
01:23:15.900 And just point at it.
01:23:16.820 And maybe, dude, maybe the rock just taught y'all.
01:23:19.300 I've tried.
01:23:19.800 I've tried.
01:23:20.220 I'll try.
01:23:20.660 We'll try later.
01:23:21.600 one time he's like
01:23:23.060 I got you 1.00
01:23:24.080 the Christian party trick 1.00
01:23:25.940 alright 1.00
01:23:26.200 who wants to see
01:23:26.780 something cool
01:23:27.260 I think
01:23:28.940 I think the minutiae
01:23:30.380 is important
01:23:30.960 hugely
01:23:31.760 you're a science person
01:23:34.000 yeah
01:23:34.720 I think
01:23:35.500 I think unfortunately
01:23:36.380 I think the minutiae
01:23:37.100 is everything
01:23:37.560 I think the language
01:23:38.300 is everything
01:23:38.940 that's why like
01:23:39.660 I don't know
01:23:40.220 how apt I am
01:23:41.740 to work backwards
01:23:42.920 because working backwards
01:23:44.400 would mean that
01:23:45.280 you're starting
01:23:45.720 you don't have to
01:23:46.160 you don't have to
01:23:47.420 no
01:23:47.600 I just think
01:23:48.260 everybody's soul
01:23:48.900 is different
01:23:49.320 so you're
01:23:49.960 highly
01:23:51.080 an intellectual thinker um you're a processor yeah would have a hesitancy to jump into something
01:23:57.000 that you didn't fully um have confidence in there's there's room for that in this faith
01:24:02.660 my girlfriend would tell you that is so true with this relationship
01:24:05.260 there might be some other uh yeah yeah but i feel like faith is just part of the story well i was i
01:24:12.640 was gonna say too like people discount what faith means too faith faith is what exists in between
01:24:19.940 our ability to prove something without a shadow of a doubt and what we're trying to prove faith
01:24:24.300 is that gap and so for someone who is someone who is a very intellectually and very scientifically
01:24:30.260 driven that jump from that cliff is not easy it's not it's not easy for anyone and that that gap
01:24:36.320 is filled with personal experience with with miracle with with being saved from things that
01:24:42.600 that you should not have been saved from do you know what i'm saying so like for me that is what 0.99
01:24:47.600 fills this gap yo you died on that operating table 10 fucking times you od'd 100 fucking times you 0.99
01:24:53.380 should not be here talking on this show that fills my gap i walk my gap i walk over this is me i'm 0.99
01:25:00.020 here dude you got me you got me but it's not that it's not it doesn't work the same also the fun
01:25:04.960 christian fact like so there are some people who look down on others with doubt jesus didn't do
01:25:10.120 that so if you look at his disciples he picked every he picked so many different personalities
01:25:14.520 But some of his disciples still didn't believe Jesus was who he said he was until he came back and allowed them to look at the hole in his hand.
01:25:23.640 So if there's anybody who feels like you doubt, it makes you less spiritual.
01:25:27.480 You got Peter, who was so filled with faith, he's jumping in the water before he's asked to.
01:25:32.300 And then you got Thomas, who didn't even believe Jesus was who he said he was.
01:25:36.360 And Jesus did not look at him with a finger of judgment.
01:25:38.860 He let him see it, even though he had walked with Jesus.
01:25:41.380 If there's one dude who should have known that it was real, it was that guy.
01:25:44.520 But that's the grace of our God.
01:25:47.160 That's still the sermon we're preaching right now.
01:25:50.040 There is no God in heaven shaking his fist.
01:25:53.540 Jesus changed all that.
01:25:54.800 There's a God that has an open hand, and that can change a life.
01:25:58.100 I'm always so fascinated by these conversations.
01:26:00.380 I love having them.
01:26:01.380 I love learning.
01:26:02.100 I'm 25, and I'm interested to see what happens with my faith.
01:26:06.520 Me too.
01:26:06.800 And by the way, I'm so willing and open to explore, and I'd love to come to a session.
01:26:13.340 or what is it?
01:26:14.240 What do I call it?
01:26:15.400 Church?
01:26:16.160 Come to a church?
01:26:16.800 We could call it a session,
01:26:18.060 a mass,
01:26:19.440 we could call it whatever you want.
01:26:20.420 No, we're going to have
01:26:20.900 some cool combos
01:26:21.640 because you carry a lot of weight.
01:26:23.600 God's obviously gifted you
01:26:24.780 with an influence
01:26:25.580 that you didn't ask for.
01:26:26.920 Like you didn't wake up
01:26:27.860 and become who you guys are.
01:26:29.980 I think sometimes there's that
01:26:31.060 and then there's,
01:26:31.880 you know,
01:26:32.280 God's grace
01:26:32.920 that hits something.
01:26:33.940 How else,
01:26:34.340 there's so many people
01:26:35.100 trying to do this.
01:26:36.080 What makes y'all different?
01:26:37.620 What put you on? 0.99
01:26:38.660 Who fucking knows? 0.99
01:26:40.700 Somebody does. 0.99
01:26:42.020 Andre would say
01:26:42.620 the charisma gene somebody does but who that charisma comes with a responsibility absolutely
01:26:48.040 and i think you guys are already so conscious of that especially now uh more than ever that you
01:26:53.300 know the people that you guys and that's why you set up programs to get to know people who follow
