00:00:00.360 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel. It is 6.51 a.m. It is Tuesday, April the 15th with the Big Blue Mug of Coffee.
00:00:08.100 I hope you're having a great day today. I certainly am.
00:00:11.420 And I'm getting going a little bit later than usual this morning.
00:00:14.400 I was up early, but I've been sitting thinking this morning about what to talk about.
00:00:20.420 And I really couldn't come up with anything concrete when it comes to what's being chatted about with the YouTubers and in the mainstream media.
00:00:30.000 And there's a lot going on. I think you'll agree.
00:00:33.600 But what's been really strange about this election campaign is this is not being typical at all.
00:00:39.120 It has not been about social issues, which very often come up in election campaigns.
00:00:43.740 Has it been about the economy? Yes, in a way, superficially.
00:00:48.560 Has it been about policies? Not necessarily.
00:00:52.300 This election has been based on emotion more than anything else.
00:00:57.220 And I think a lot of the YouTubers and the news media are covering the superficial things more than the emotional things.
00:01:06.280 You know, I talked about the button issue, but is that really going to sway anybody's votes?
00:01:11.940 The YouTubers online seem to think this is a big issue.
00:01:14.760 It's dirty tricks for sure, but the average liberal voter right now isn't voting on buttons.
00:01:21.480 And they're not voting on Mark Carney's offshore accounts.
00:01:24.500 And they're not voting on anything like that.
00:01:26.620 They're voting on emotion.
00:01:28.380 Mark Carney and the liberals have tapped into emotion from the very beginning of this campaign.
00:01:33.480 And Pierre Polyev has failed to do that.
00:01:36.560 We've got the debates coming up Wednesday night for the French.
00:01:39.780 Thursday night for the English.
00:01:41.720 And I hope to see some emotion out of Pierre Polyev.
00:01:46.220 Just watch this video right here.
00:01:48.120 This is rather disturbing as far as I'm concerned.
00:01:50.820 This is Mark Carney talking to a group of people, tapping into the emotion.
00:01:54.860 And the emotion he's tapping into is hatred.
00:01:58.780 The relationship we had with the Americans.
00:02:04.060 These guys weren't wrong.
00:02:06.740 They want us to be the 51st shape.
00:02:09.780 They want to break us.
00:02:11.480 They want to break us so they can own us.
00:02:15.780 They want.
00:02:17.960 They want our resources.
00:02:20.300 They want our water.
00:02:22.520 They want our land.
00:02:23.720 They want our country.
00:02:25.840 And what do we say?
00:02:28.020 You don't have to die.
00:02:29.660 You don't have to die.
00:02:30.720 I don't know whether you could hear what that guy yelled from the distance.
00:02:37.220 But he yells, over my dead body.
00:02:40.360 And that's the kind of emotion that Carney and the liberals have tapped into.
00:02:44.700 They've done a masterful job of this right from the beginning.
00:02:48.340 As I've been saying on this channel for quite some time, the liberals needed the Donald Trump thing.
00:02:54.440 In a video with Brian Lilly, which I'm going to show you a clip from in just a moment, he talks about how Carney says he's the only person that can talk to Donald Trump and negotiate with him, yet he's done nothing to solve our problems.
00:03:09.260 And he is the prime minister of the country right now.
00:03:11.680 But he's done nothing to solve the problems because he needs to continue to instill hatred in Donald Trump and the Americans.
00:03:19.360 Now, what is Polyev offering us?
00:03:21.460 A great message, but for the wrong campaign.
00:03:25.780 He needs to tap into a little bit of hatred.
00:03:30.960 I hate to say that, but the hatred I have is towards the Liberal Party because we are in this situation because of the liberals.
00:03:39.200 Yet he fails to say that on so many occasions.
00:03:42.480 Instead, he says this.
00:03:44.720 It's going to come down to whether people want to change.
00:03:47.580 If people want to keep going, they think the liberals have done a good job on housing and crime and cost of living and they want a fourth term.
00:03:55.200 Well, then they'll get a fourth term of that.
00:03:57.820 If they think it's time for a change, then I think we've got a good shot.
00:04:02.400 It's up to Canadians.
00:04:03.340 If they want a fourth term, they'll get one.
00:04:05.440 If they want change, then I'm, as I said earlier, I'm it.
00:04:08.440 I'm the only change in town.
00:04:10.240 The Lilly and Polyev interview is fantastic.
00:04:12.720 It runs almost 40 minutes long.
00:04:15.240 I'll put a link in the description.
00:04:17.260 And he's got a great message.
00:04:18.640 He comes across as a real nice guy in this video, but unfortunately, he's not tapping into the emotion.
00:04:25.320 If people like our plan better, they'll vote for us.
00:04:27.580 Well, unfortunately, the other guy's got the hatred he's drawing on and drawing in voters with.
00:04:33.060 Here's another clip, similar type message from The Knowledge Project.
00:04:37.660 Another great video.
00:04:38.920 Link in the description.
00:04:40.220 Watch it.
00:04:40.760 I think you'll really enjoy it.
00:04:42.160 But Polyev says much the same thing.
00:04:44.340 Sometimes I find that very upsetting, and it comes off as aggressive.
00:04:50.000 But it comes from, I don't think people, maybe perhaps they might not know that it comes from a place of caring for the people that I'm fighting for.
00:05:00.000 And my challenge is to convert that care into showing people the positive vision I have for the country, the brighter future that we have with change.
00:05:13.880 And that's what I have to convey in these closing weeks so that people have hope.
00:05:18.120 I want people to go to the polls, not because they're angry, but because they're hopeful.
00:05:22.040 Polyev's message has really been about, you know, if you want more of the same, just vote for the liberals.
00:05:27.820 I'm your change guy.
00:05:29.460 Instead of saying, listen voters, the real reason why we've got the problems right now with the United States and Donald Trump is because of the Liberal Party.
00:05:39.000 The only reason you've got anger and hatred for the Americans right now is because of the Liberal Party.
00:05:44.920 It's because of Justin Trudeau and his economic advisor, Mark Carney, and most of the people who are currently in the cabinet, the Liberal Party, who caused all your problems.
00:05:56.200 Don't reward them, get rid of them, punish them for what they've done to our country.
00:06:04.160 That's what he has not said outright since the beginning of this campaign and tapped into a little bit of emotion.
00:06:13.160 But what have the Liberals done now?
00:06:15.180 Well, Carney goes away for a couple of days.
00:06:17.360 Everybody says he's been hiding.
00:06:18.940 Yeah, I think he's been hiding a little bit.
00:06:21.880 He needs to shut his mouth up because the more he talks, the more people get to know him.
00:06:26.660 That's why we have such a short campaign.
00:06:29.460 But the reason why he went away for a few days is so the Liberals could retool their message.
00:06:35.000 And part of that message is throwing Justin Trudeau and what's happened over the last 10 years under the bus.
00:06:41.580 No doubt, Trudeau had his hand in this as well.
00:06:44.000 Hello, Mr. Carney, Rene Brumer, Montreal Gazette.
00:06:46.300 Last night on Tout le monde en parle, you mentioned that for Justin Trudeau, the economy wasn't a main priority.
00:06:53.880 Could you elaborate on what you meant by that and how you plan to differ?
00:06:58.720 Yeah.
00:06:59.120 Of course, I'm speaking in relative terms, but I stand by what I said.
00:07:06.000 I'll give you a few examples.
00:07:08.820 You know, over the course of the last 10 years, the pace of government spending, particularly operational expenditures, rose by an average of 9% a year.
00:07:17.900 9% year after year after year.
00:07:19.520 That's about twice the rate of growth of the economy.
00:07:22.020 The level of government support for industry and business investment and housing and other factors will be considered.
00:07:37.400 You'll see when we release our detailed platform or our platform chiffrée.
00:07:42.880 That level of support is much lower than the level of support that we are going to give it.
00:07:49.520 Expect to see a lot more from the Liberals over the next couple of weeks as we lead up to the election on the 28th.
00:07:56.700 Think of how they have adjusted their message throughout the campaign.
00:08:01.300 Think back to what Pierre Polyev used to have on his lectern.
00:08:04.820 It was, axe the tax.
00:08:06.280 Well, they got rid of that, didn't they?
00:08:08.880 So now Polyev couldn't use it anymore.
00:08:10.880 Lately, Polyev's been talking about change.
00:08:13.580 If you vote in the Liberals again, you're going to get the same thing.
00:08:16.680 I'm the change guy.
00:08:18.340 Now they've changed their message, the Liberals, and they're talking about doing things differently.
00:08:23.720 So again, Polyev is going to have to change his messaging over the next couple of weeks.
00:08:29.760 We need more emotion from Pierre Polyev.
00:08:32.220 I think his numbers have been coming up.
00:08:34.320 I think he looks very prime ministerial.
00:08:36.360 But he talks about how people misinterpret who he really is because he gets emotional about going around to the country and talking to people who are suffering.
00:08:46.380 But he doesn't tell us emotionally how he's feeling.
00:08:50.320 Mr. Polyev, how do you feel when you see people having to live in the streets in Canada?
00:08:55.880 That makes me mad.
00:08:58.140 And it's because of the Liberal Party.
00:08:59.820 Let people know how it makes you mad.
00:09:01.840 People are lining up in great numbers.
00:09:04.620 You talk about it all the time, but you don't tell us how you feel about people standing in line for food because they can't afford groceries because of the Liberal Party.
00:09:16.020 Tap into some emotion from people.
00:09:18.860 You've got two weeks to do it.
00:09:20.660 You've got a debate coming up on Thursday night in English and the one in French on Wednesday.
00:09:25.420 Thank you very much for watching.
00:09:27.540 I do appreciate it.
00:09:28.720 If you liked the video, please give me a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel, and I'll see you in the next one.
