00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel. It is 822 in the evening, Wednesday, April
00:00:09.160 the 29th. I'm putting this video up early on Thursday morning. Perhaps I can get a little
00:00:14.860 more sleep. And I think I may have stirred up a bit of a hornet's nest. A lot of people
00:00:22.700 are talking about the video I put up at 11 o'clock this morning with Matthew Rowley
00:00:28.040 of Renew Alberta. And that's good. I'm glad. As a matter of fact, I was sitting at this seat
00:00:37.320 at 11 o'clock this morning when that went up. And I noticed that Derek from Unacceptable Fringe
00:00:42.760 was doing a whole video on Renew Alberta at that point. And I watched part of it. I put a comment
00:00:49.300 in there and I said, you know, I hate typing out things. I gave him a call. And we talked about
00:00:54.100 that for a couple of minutes. I'm glad he's talking about this. That's the idea folks. I'm
00:01:00.060 glad he's talking about this. I tuned into his live stream an hour ago and this is what he was
00:01:05.700 talking about. I think that's good. Conversation is good. And then I talked to Derek about other
00:01:11.240 stuff and we went on. I consider Derek a friend. Good for him for questioning this. That's what I
00:01:17.180 did. That's why I did the interview with Matthew Raleigh, who I would like to say is a gentleman,
00:01:22.880 a very nice guy. And you know what? If he follows through with what he wants to do,
00:01:27.920 I think he can be helpful here. But when I heard about his group from a person who is incredibly
00:01:33.820 connected with the Alberta independence movement, I might add, who knows Matthew,
00:01:38.820 I thought I'd like to talk to him and find out what he's about. Because I'm worried.
00:01:45.660 What am I worried about? Folks, more groups are getting aboard with independence,
00:01:49.860 more than Mitch Sylvester, Stay Free Alberta and whatever that morphs into over the next six months
00:01:55.840 leading to a vote in October. More groups are getting in and we need to understand what they're
00:02:02.440 about, all of them. Do they have ulterior motives? Are they in it for the money? Because I've heard
00:02:09.720 six, seven or more groups are all of a sudden going to jump aboard and that's why I brought
00:02:15.300 mad in here. I asked him about his donations and I was concerned that there was going to be a
00:02:21.400 fracturing of the message. I brought up the 2019 meeting I went to, which was an independence
00:02:28.380 meeting. And shortly after that, I saw groups butting heads with each other for independence
00:02:33.340 and it died for years until Mitch and the Alberta Prosperity Project at that moment
00:02:38.540 brought it back. And we are where we are today. I want to let you know, I'm all in with Mitch.
00:02:43.560 Mitch is just a great guy. I'm all in with Jeff. They're good people. They're working hard,
00:02:50.140 and they haven't led us astray. I'm all in with them. But I want to know about these other groups.
00:02:56.960 I'm very concerned about that. You know, I've been a broadcaster for a long time.
00:03:01.340 Some of you know that. About the last 10 years of my career, I did a radio program called
00:03:07.760 John Bolton's Cornwall Today. It was a small radio station with a large reach and a large scope.
00:03:14.560 And I spoke to people all the time I disagreed with. I spoke to Jack Layton, disagreed with him.
00:03:21.720 I thought he was a nice guy to talk to. Didn't agree with anything he said. Elizabeth May,
00:03:27.220 I've spoken to her. I spoke with Ken Dryden, liberal senator. I spoke with Dalton McGinty,
00:03:33.140 the Premier of Ontario. I spoke with Justin Trudeau. I spoke with Stephen Harper and dozens
00:03:38.980 of other politicians from across the country. I didn't always agree with them, but I wanted to
00:03:44.560 find out what they were about. I think it's important that we know what these groups are
00:03:48.160 about. And there's something I've learned over the years and something I learned a long time
00:03:52.220 in my radio career. You learn more from listening than you do from speaking. Now, a lot of you are
00:03:59.440 very concerned, and most of the comments are about the Westminster system. Well, you need to
00:04:04.300 understand it hasn't been decided, the system that Alberta will have if we have an independent
00:04:10.200 Alberta. That has not been decided. As a matter of fact, this is one of the toughest things they've
00:04:15.320 been working on for months. I remember, I think it was on January 10th at the Queensland Community
00:04:21.020 Centre. I think it was Dennis Kalmer or maybe Eva Chipiak who said, what kind of system would you
00:04:26.480 like Westminster system or a constitutional republic more like the United States. And most
00:04:32.000 people prefer the system out of the United States, as do I. But we may get a hybrid of both.
00:04:38.780 I don't know at this point. But I just ask some questions because I am concerned. And I want to
00:04:46.400 find out about these people. I am inquisitive. So the fact that people are discussing this,
00:04:51.860 it's wonderful that's the idea about doing these interviews people talk about it and if you don't
00:04:59.120 like what Mr. Rowley's about don't support him there are people who already do I'm sure
00:05:05.680 that's your choice but at least you have the information now I can't say I'm going to be
00:05:11.620 talking to all the different groups that are coming and there's going to be a lot more from
00:05:15.280 what I understand. Six, seven, eight, who knows? I just want to make sure we have a cohesive
00:05:21.560 message. And I think that if Matthew Rowley can get some of the people who are dead set against
00:05:28.800 independence to come over to our side, I think that's a good thing. Trying to convince people
00:05:34.140 that the Canada they once believed in doesn't exist anymore. And that type of a Canada,
00:05:39.640 not the political system, but the Canada they remember, can happen here in Alberta,
00:05:46.580 I think that's a good message. I've been trying to get through the patriotism answer from these
00:05:52.420 people for the longest time, the people who wrap themselves in a Canadian flag, and that might be
00:05:57.840 the answer. So thank you very much for your comments. I pinned a comment at the top of that
00:06:04.320 video. I'm glad you're talking about it. But I'm interested in people. I'm inquisitive about
00:06:11.320 things. I want to find out before I dismiss it. I don't think that's right. But if you dismiss it
00:06:19.760 after you hear it, that is your right. Thank you very much for watching. Okay, thank you. I'm going
00:06:26.080 to try to get some sleep this morning. I'm looking forward to seeing you on Monday. I'm going to be
00:06:30.660 in Edmonton. 1.30 at Elections Alberta. I'm going to be there. I'm excited. I'm looking forward to
00:06:37.820 the next stage, which is money, raising money, and educating people about an independent Alberta. 0.98
00:06:44.260 Damn it, we can win this thing. And I'm all in with Mitch, and I'm all in with the people I've 0.88
00:06:49.240 been supporting for the last year. I really am. And I will support some of the other groups that
00:06:54.440 are doing good things right now. Thank you very much. I appreciate it. If you like the video,
00:06:59.560 give it a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel, ring the bell for notifications. I'll see you
00:07:04.580 in the next one.
