Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel 510 AM, Wednesday, November the 19th. I hope you're
00:00:08.020
having a great start to Wednesday morning. I want to keep this video short today. It is cleaning
00:00:12.860
day at the Bolton household. I just heard the Roomba finish up upstairs and I got to go up and
00:00:17.660
do some vacuuming and dusting, some quiet vacuuming because Mrs. Bolton is still sleeping upstairs for
00:00:22.960
the next three to three and a half hours. I've got my big blue mug of coffee, of course. And today
00:00:28.480
I want to focus in on two female Alberta politicians. And this is not an Alberta centric
00:00:35.600
video. This could be any politicians in your province. It could be two men. It could be a
00:00:40.140
man and a woman. It just happens to be two women I'm focusing on here today to make a point.
00:00:45.460
The first video I'm going to show you is from a politician who's running to be the head of the
00:00:51.100
federal NDP. I think her along with her party and her ideology are nuts. I think they're dangerous.
00:00:58.480
to children. And I don't think they know the difference between right and wrong. The second
00:01:04.620
politician just happens to be the premier of Alberta, who I think knows the difference between
00:01:08.780
right and wrong. And she's not nuts. She wants to protect children. Now, before we get to these
00:01:14.700
videos, and they're not very long, I want to ask you some questions. And I'm going to answer these
00:01:19.600
questions along with you. When you were in elementary school, and I went to elementary
00:01:25.000
school in the 70s, when you went to elementary school, were there any kids that you can think
00:01:30.780
of that were transgendered? And were there very many if there was one? Because I would say that you would
00:01:49.840
probably answer no to both of those questions. Unless you may be graduated from high school
00:01:57.260
less than 10 years ago, because all of a sudden, this is everywhere. And it doesn't make any sense.
00:02:05.360
Why is it everywhere? It's because of social contagion. Social contagion is the spread of behaviors,
00:02:12.300
emotions, or attitudes from person to person through a group or social network,
00:02:15.960
much like a biological contagion. This often happens subconsciously and can lead to phenomena
00:02:21.980
like mass hysteria, viral online challenges, or the rapid adoption of certain trends. Examples include
00:02:29.080
emotional contagion, such as one person's smile causing others to smile, and behavioral contagion,
00:02:35.020
where exposure to a specific action makes others more likely to perform it. And that's what this
00:02:41.760
transgendered craze is all about. And the left have latched onto this as their cause.
00:02:48.540
And I think it's dangerous. Not only that, I think it's monstrous. Now, here is Heather McPherson,
00:02:55.880
MP, Edmonton Strathcona, running to be the head of the federal NDP. Listen to this.
00:03:04.160
Just when you think that Danielle Smith can't go any lower, she brings forward a piece of legislation like
00:03:09.400
C9. You know, a piece of legislation that takes away the human rights of trans people in our community,
00:03:17.440
attacks trans kids, some of the most vulnerable kids in our community. This piece of legislation is
00:03:24.980
wrong. It's wrong. It's small-minded. It's mean. And it's so dangerous. It's so dangerous.
00:03:36.600
Danielle Smith, trans kids aren't your tool. They're not your foil to rouse up the far right
00:03:46.200
within your party. These kids deserve your respect. They deserve your protection. You are the premier
00:03:54.640
of this province. And the fact that you have let them down, the fact that you have brought forward
00:04:00.960
such hateful, hateful legislation is horrifying. And to every kid, to every trans kid who felt today
00:04:12.560
that their government was against them, that felt that there was a target on their back,
00:04:20.200
you are so loved. You belong here. You belong in Alberta. You belong in Canada.
00:04:26.240
And we will stand with you. We will fight. We will fight back against this terrible legislation.
00:04:34.240
If you had met somebody just 10 years ago, and they said this to you, you would have looked them
00:04:40.940
in the face and told them they were insane and that they were dangerous. And this person is running
00:04:47.640
to be the leader of the federal NDP. The prime minister of the country has firsthand knowledge
00:04:52.260
of this stuff. He believes the same thing. These people are dangerous. Countries around the world
00:04:56.120
are backtracking on this because you don't experiment on little kids. Kids can't make decisions on this
00:05:02.080
stuff. Kids can't get tattoos because they're irresponsible. Do you think children should be allowed to
00:05:12.600
make decisions on taking drugs that can cause irreparable harm to their body or cut off body parts?
00:05:18.140
Of course not. You wouldn't allow them to choose dinner five days a week because they haven't got
00:05:25.220
the responsibility to eat things healthy. You'd be eating junk food and garbage all the time.
00:05:32.520
Now let's bring some sanity into this. Let's hear from Premier Danielle Smith, who thinks it's not
00:05:38.040
political parties that should be deciding or the state deciding on the fate of your children.
00:05:43.380
It's parents. And she wants to protect kids. Today our government is introducing Bill 9.
00:05:49.580
Bill 9 will invoke the Canadian Charter's notwithstanding clause to amend and uphold
00:05:54.180
three critical pieces of legislation without further court delay or uncertainty. We have a
00:05:59.480
responsibility. A responsibility to provide clarity. A responsibility to protect all children and youth.
00:06:05.960
And a responsibility to give parents, not institutions or courts, the primary role in life-changing
00:06:11.300
decisions about their children. This government does not turn to the notwithstanding clause unless
00:06:16.600
the stakes warrant it. And in this case, the stakes could not be higher. This legislation is not about
00:06:21.740
denying care. We cannot and will not take the risk of a child undergoing medical, hormonal, or surgical
00:06:28.000
interventions that could permanently limit or eliminate the choices they may want to make as an adult.
00:06:33.680
We want every young Albertan to receive the mental health supports, the compassion, and the guidance
00:06:37.960
that they need at home, at school, and in their communities. Before I wrap up, I do want to speak
00:06:43.320
directly to young Albertans who are navigating what their identity means through the already difficult
00:06:48.520
process of growing up. You deserve dignity, understanding, and support. You belong in Alberta.
00:06:54.280
We firmly believe that. We also believe it's our duty to protect you. This legislation is about your
00:06:59.480
future. So when the time comes, you have every opportunity to make the adult decisions that are
00:07:04.200
rightfully yours and yours alone. Well done, Premier Danielle Smith. A majority of Albertans support
00:07:13.980
you on this, and we support parents. I remember years ago, you may remember this as well, Hillary
00:07:19.820
Clinton said, it takes a village to raise a child. And I remember when she said that, and I thought,
00:07:25.560
no, it doesn't. It takes parents to raise a child. And Ms. McPherson there saying that Danielle's just
00:07:32.220
trying to rile up the far right in the province. I'm not far right. And the people who believe in
00:07:37.900
what Danielle Smith believes on this topic are not far right. We're just right.
00:07:44.000
