00:00:00.000 A new survey from Nanos Research for CTV News shows Mark Kearney is the top pick to deal with
00:00:06.000 U.S. President Donald Trump.
00:00:30.000 it would really help out the channel. And a reminder that clicking on the big blue mug does
00:00:34.480 not subscribe you to the channel. A lot of you heard this story yesterday. You may have read it.
00:00:39.700 I showed you the headline from the National Post on this. Trump announces new 50% tariff on Canadian
00:00:45.680 goods, citing alcohol and dairy disputes. Cue the sad trombone one more time.
00:00:52.080 And you know, I heard this and read this yesterday and I had to laugh.
00:00:55.840 And here's the thing. I'm going to come to a conclusion in just a couple of minutes. It's
00:01:00.680 not going to be a long video that involves you. So stay tuned for that. So I had to laugh when
00:01:05.820 I saw this. I mean, that clip I showed you at the top, that short clip, Carney was expected to be
00:01:11.700 the guy to make the deal with Trump. And here we are more than a year later, and we've got no deal.
00:01:17.480 Donald Trump, don't get me wrong, is a difficult human. I understand this. But Trump wrote a book
00:01:22.660 called The Art of the Deal. And the deal is his end game, and we've got no deal.
00:01:28.620 If you've studied Donald Trump a little bit, he usually asks for the extreme. He ends up in the
00:01:34.560 middle somewhere. Carney has been unwilling to make a deal with Trump because it's been of his
00:01:38.580 benefit. Mark Carney would be an afterthought in Canadian politics if it weren't for Donald Trump.
00:01:44.180 You and I know this. He'd be Michael Ignatieff. And some of you are saying, who the hell is
00:01:50.140 Michael Ignatieff. That's my point. But Carney has used Donald Trump to great effect. So I saw
00:01:55.480 this story yesterday and I thought, I'm going to do a video on it. And then I thought, no,
00:02:00.460 I'm going to wait till tomorrow morning. I might have a different perspective. And what I started
00:02:03.620 thinking this morning is this, things shouldn't be so difficult. As complex as government is,
00:02:10.840 things should not be so difficult. It should be easier. There are things that can get done
00:02:16.960 and the liberals just don't do them. And then I thought, what do Carney and the liberals do well?
00:02:22.420 Okay. So it's going to be a short list when it comes to that, but there could be a long list
00:02:27.240 when it comes to how difficult the liberals make things. And you're no doubt going to have some
00:02:31.520 suggestions for me. I've jotted them down. Please excuse me. I'm going to refer to the screen on my
00:02:36.560 left here. There are a lot of other things, but these are the ones that came to the top of my
00:02:41.740 mind this morning. Okay, so things shouldn't be so difficult. Deficits and debt are too high.
00:02:48.320 How would you resolve this issue? It's not that hard. Stop spending money. Stop spending our
00:02:54.680 money. Don't spend more than we earn. But this seems to be a very difficult thing for liberals.
00:03:00.880 It was 2019, I believe, when Justin Trudeau said modest deficits of $10 billion and people's heads
00:03:08.060 exploded. We're now in the $60 billion range for deficits. And nobody's even batting an eye. Once
00:03:14.460 you get there, folks, it's hard to come back. So expect this to continue year after year after
00:03:18.800 year. And Carney wraps it up in investing. It is spending. Stop spending money. Not that difficult.
00:03:25.080 We bring too many people to this country. Most people agree with this. Most Canadians agree
00:03:30.840 with this. Even liberals agree with this. What would you do? Well, if people were wandering
00:03:36.320 into your house regularly and you didn't like it. You just shut the door. That's how easy this is.
00:03:41.820 It's not that difficult, but the liberals, for the liberals, it's a difficult thing to do. Now,
00:03:46.980 I wrote this down. I'm going to read this verbatim. Okay. Crime is caused by criminals,
00:03:51.680 not law-abiding citizens. Okay. Pretty obvious. Stop making law-abiding citizens criminals
00:03:58.740 by making the guns they legally own illegal and arrest the criminals and lock them away.
00:04:05.580 It's not that difficult, but the liberals make this difficult.
00:04:10.200 It's really quite easy to solve.
00:04:12.480 We need to sell our resources, and from an Albertan standpoint, oil and gas.
00:04:17.980 It's in the national interest, we're told.
00:04:20.020 So approve the things and do it.
00:04:23.260 Don't put all sorts of barriers in the way to stop it from happening.
00:04:26.800 I discussed this yesterday.
00:04:28.880 A memorandum of understanding.
00:04:30.320 You want a pipeline, you've got to do this and this and this and this and this.
00:04:33.580 Just do it.
00:04:34.340 It's not that difficult. We need a trade deal with the United States, so get one. I read an
00:04:40.720 article this morning said, Carney says he's prepared to sit down and talk about coming to a
00:04:45.980 deal. Prepared? I mean, you're not doing this right now. And again, back to the art of the deal. Trump
00:04:52.360 wants a deal. Carney says no deal is better than a bad deal. What kind of a deal have we got right
00:04:58.400 now. This is pretty bad, folks. Get a deal. It really shouldn't be this difficult. Sorry about
00:05:04.520 the hiccup in this video. Software issues are driving me nuts. But let's move on now to the
00:05:09.620 things that the liberals do well. And it's going to be a short list. So this video is not going
00:05:13.900 on very much longer. And my conclusion about you in just a moment. Okay, so what do the liberals
00:05:19.160 do well? What does Mark Carney do well? They're very good at spending your money. We talked about
00:05:23.860 the deficits and debt, they wrap it up in investment. And it's not investment. It is
00:05:27.940 spending a lot of money and it does not benefit you down the road. This drives up inflation and
00:05:34.020 makes things more costly. They're good. Mark Carney is very good at flying around the world
00:05:38.340 at your expense, spending hundreds of thousands of dollars of your money to eat well while people
00:05:43.280 are living in the streets and cities across the country. And I'm noticing more of that happening
00:05:47.560 in Calgary now. Mark Carney is really good at making well-received speeches and squandering
00:05:54.180 our advantage over other countries. And what is that advantage? Our proximity to the United States
00:05:59.860 of America, the biggest economy in the world. Liberals are very good at this, and they've been
00:06:03.900 very good since Mark Carney became prime minister last April the 28th. They're good at taking away
00:06:09.360 your rights. All these C-bills, C-9, the latest, which went into effect on Saturday. Eventually, 0.75
00:06:15.660 this is going to catch up with you. I'm waiting for a Catholic priest to be hauled to jail in 1.00
00:06:22.160 shackles because he said something about the Bible, and that is possible now. And somebody 1.00
00:06:26.300 like myself who just talks on YouTube eventually, this is probably going to come down on me as well.
00:06:31.700 They're very good at cozying up with communists. Listen, as much as you hate Donald Trump,
00:06:35.880 I would take the United States over communist China any day of the week.
00:06:40.020 A lot of the people who voted liberal don't think that way, but that's the way I feel.
00:06:44.480 The liberals are very good at cozying up to communists now.
00:06:49.400 They're very good at getting elected and manufacturing majorities.
00:06:54.340 I mean, we've got this government, unless something happens, for what, another three years or more?
00:07:00.840 And there's nothing we can do about it.
00:07:04.940 The people who voted for them are good at electing mediocrity.
00:07:08.300 I think this country is mediocre because of the Liberal Party.
00:07:10.880 Things have gone way downhill over the last 10 to 11 years.
00:07:14.120 What are the liberals best at? They're best at blaming all of our problems on Donald Trump,
00:07:20.740 which goes back to the original story we talked about today and these additional tariffs. And
00:07:26.060 what's my conclusion? Everyone in this country, including you, are as good at negotiating with
00:07:34.320 Donald Trump as Mark Carney, despite the headlines we saw last year. He's not the best person to deal
00:07:42.400 with Donald Trump. And I bet a lot of you could have made a deal now and would have been better
00:07:46.940 at dealing with Donald Trump than Mark Carney. If only he were an afterthought in Canadian
00:07:53.120 politics like Michael Ignatieff. Let me know what you think in the comments. Give me a thumbs up if
00:07:57.560 you like the video. Please subscribe to the channel. I appreciate you being here. I'll see you in the
00:08:03.480 next one.
