00:00:33.520 learned about this on July 5th, 2022. Harrison, spike the football here. When did True North
00:00:39.120 readers learn about this? April 14th. So CBC is only just a little late, Andrew. They're only just a few
00:00:45.600 months late to this story about the military. True North broke the story months ago. And to anyone's,
00:00:53.520 well, to everyone's surprise, Andrew, the CBC failed to mention True North, failed to credit
00:00:58.420 True North for breaking the story months earlier. It might be because they're just embarrassed about
00:01:02.220 their lack of serious journalism. They're, they're, they must be embarrassed about the fact that they
00:01:07.300 just can't seem to stay on top of the news. Yeah, and this is not exclusively a problem that affects
00:01:14.200 True North. The CBC is kind of notorious for this. And they have so much funding. They have so many
00:01:19.400 staff. They have so many resources. They have a level of funding that most commercial newsrooms
00:01:24.260 in this country would kill for. Yet they still rely so heavily on the work done by other newsrooms,
00:01:30.860 done by reporters for Post Media, for the Toronto Star, and increasingly for a lot of independent and
00:01:36.740 local outlets too. Well, what good is a public broadcaster, a broadcaster that the, the, the only
00:01:43.560 job of that broadcaster is to give Canadians the news. What good is it if a small group like we are
00:01:51.320 at True North are beating CBC months early to a story that is news at the time. And only the CBC
00:01:57.540 only reports as news. Once the government itself pushes out the press release. I mean, it's, it's
00:02:02.560 journalism by press release for the CBC. It's been that way for years now, and they're really not doing
00:02:07.700 anything, uh, to give Canadians value. All you really have to do at this point is abandon the CBC
00:02:13.940 and just basically look at what, watch True North, watch other alternative media sites, because not
00:02:19.080 only, uh, is the CBC not getting their news from us, because if they were, they'd be quicker. It wouldn't,
00:02:23.680 it wouldn't take them months to write our story. They're waiting on the government to release the
00:02:27.800 news. So if the CBC isn't going to release the news, they're not going to do it before the government
00:02:32.440 press release writes it for them. Then what good, what good is there? And, and we've seen the CBC do
00:02:37.680 this constantly. True North wrote a story in February, uh, about the NDP, an NDP candidate
00:02:44.300 using homophobic slurs and promoting Antifa. And the CBC took our story, posted it a few days later.
00:02:50.680 Then True North wrote a story also about an NDP MP and a liberal MPs, uh, questioning their,
00:02:56.840 their indigenous claims. So an NDP MP calls out a liberal MP for not being indigenous enough,
00:03:01.480 sort of a Canadian Elizabeth Warren story there. We wrote that on April and then CBC takes it
00:03:07.020 three or four days later and writes the same story, of course, failing to credit us. So
00:03:11.700 we've seen it happen before. We see it happen many times. Again, it's not going to change at this
00:03:16.260 point. How long do we expect or how much, how much rope we want to give the CDC to fix their act,
00:03:20.740 to get their, you know, get their, get their act together. It's not going to happen. So at what
00:03:25.520 point, Andrew, do we just give up and say, look, these, these journalists just don't know how to do
00:03:29.980 their job properly. All they have to do is just read True North.
