00:00:00.000 A Canadian woman has been arrested by immigration officers in New Jersey after she allegedly
00:00:11.960 assaulted a teenage Trump supporter.
00:00:15.520 The New York Post is reporting the accused is 33-year-old Caitlin E. Tracy.
00:00:21.360 She allegedly recorded herself confronting a group of four girls on the Point Pleasant
00:00:27.920 Beach Boardwalk over the July 4th weekend. According to courtroom documents, she became
00:00:34.700 violent, slapping a teenager dressed in President Trump-branded clothes. According to the Post,
00:00:41.780 Tracy took issue with two of the beachgoers who were minors wearing patriotic-colored sweatpants
00:00:49.420 with the words Trump and ICE before she struck one of them across the face and body, police 0.86
00:00:56.880 allege. Here is Tracy's American husband, Matthew Geroni, appealing to the public for help in
00:01:03.920 freeing his wife, even if it means she has to return to Canada. My wife is being detained by
00:01:10.720 ICE. She's in Ocean County Jail right now and I can't get a hold of her. She keeps trying to call
00:01:16.620 me, but they won't let me put money on her card. The kiosk in the Tom's River Jail is broken and
00:01:24.480 all the numbers and stuff they gave me wasn't right or wouldn't allow me to put money on her
00:01:29.180 card and uh ice is coming there to pick her up i need an immigration lawyer i need help i don't
00:01:35.940 know what to do i don't have any money i'm so broke but i'll i gotta figure something out i
00:01:43.020 gotta save her i love i need help i need i need you to figure out i don't know i don't know this
00:01:50.780 just happened. Tracy was arrested Monday, charged with endangering the welfare of a child,
00:01:58.500 simple assault, harassment, and obstruction. The New York Post also has a story of Matthew
00:02:05.000 Gironi posting a video of himself praying that Trump and his family get cancer. Our guest today
00:02:12.880 is political commentator and host of The Jasmine Lane Show. Jasmine Lane, welcome to the show,
00:02:18.000 Jasmine. Thank you so much for having me. Okay, well, we've got a Canadian woman, a 33-year-old
00:02:24.480 who's in hot water with the folks at ICE. This is the Immigration and Customs Enforcement people
00:02:30.460 in New Jersey. She's in custody because she allegedly assaulted two people, two Trump 0.99
00:02:37.720 supporters. This happened over the July 4th weekend. I believe it happened on July the 3rd.
00:02:42.860 and she's in a lot of hot water.
00:02:45.760 Her husband, who is American,
00:02:47.380 is appealing for the public's help.
00:02:49.920 He needs money in order to hire a lawyer.
00:02:52.120 And he says, we need to get her out of prison,
00:02:55.680 even if it means going back to Canada.
00:02:57.840 Imagine such a fate.
00:03:00.080 That would almost be worse than prison for them.
00:03:02.620 I think they'd have a rude awakening.
00:03:05.260 What do you make of this?
00:03:06.460 I mean, Canadians in the United States 1.00
00:03:08.960 should be mining their own P's and Q's.
00:03:11.420 they know how volatile the political situation is. I realize there are many Canadians who are
00:03:16.360 rabidly anti-Trump, but you take those views to the United States and, you know, you could end up
00:03:22.920 in trouble depending on what you do. And in this case, it's not just her political views,
00:03:28.840 it's the fact that she may have resulted, she may have assaulted these two girls.
00:03:34.220 Yeah, I think, you know, some key details there are the fact that the victims allegedly are
00:03:39.640 minors. So that's a big deal. But I think for Canadians tuning into this story, there's a
00:03:47.620 really big difference between governments who say that they're going to do things and a country of
00:03:53.660 which actually does those things. And in Canada, we seem to have such a bizarre relationship when
00:03:59.620 it comes to law enforcement and much of it not really being applied. And people can kind of get
00:04:04.300 away with everything here in America, it's a very different story, especially depending on where it
00:04:09.960 is that you are. And, you know, ultimately there's so many individuals who feel so, so big on social
00:04:17.720 media and her husband, as an example, the one making this plea, he has more followers than I
00:04:23.300 do on some social media channels. And his content is very frequently anti-mega, anti-Republican.
00:04:29.300 This is obviously something that they agree with and freedom of speech is protected in America.
00:04:33.900 but when you take it a little too far, you might find yourself detained by ice and welcome to
00:04:40.040 consequences. In fact, society works very nicely when you have consequences that are actively
00:04:45.640 applied on all individuals who break the rules. Yeah, it's interesting. The folks at Juno News,
00:04:51.820 one of our reporters, has reached out to Global Affairs Canada for reaction. As of this moment,
00:04:57.840 they have not said anything. I suspect that they're at least aware of the situation. All you
00:05:02.380 have to do is keep an eye on what's going on online and to see it's just blowing up on on x
00:05:08.360 and other social media sites and so what do you think that they should be doing here i mean
00:05:14.580 what can this woman uh ms tracy count on as far as the canadian government and actions that they
00:05:21.940 might take if anything i i have a hard time believing that the canadian government will
00:05:27.160 be involved in any way shape or form um you know one other point that i wanted to highlight too
00:05:31.820 is the fact that her husband, again,
00:05:33.740 who has been posting about this,
00:05:35.180 he's made a couple of videos about it now.
00:05:37.780 The whole framing of the story,
00:05:39.420 and it's the typical framing that really ignites the base,
00:05:42.820 that being the left base,
00:05:44.800 when it comes to the fact that all of the details
00:05:47.500 he's been sharing have almost nothing to do
00:05:49.960 with her alleged assault,
00:05:51.580 of which she was apprehended for,
00:05:53.800 and everything to do with,
00:05:55.200 oh no, she's been detained by ICE, everybody.
00:05:58.820 These trigger words.
00:06:01.020 You know, she is due in court August 4th under criminal charges, including what was one of them?
00:06:06.280 Let me just make sure I get this right. Endangering the welfare of a child. 0.95
00:06:09.540 That's a big deal. So I think the public framing here is such a misrepresentation of what happened.
00:06:16.980 And ultimately for Canada, I mean, what can you do? You have a woman if she's found guilty of of attacking a child, somebody under the age of 18 in another country.
00:06:28.720 Sometimes you have to pay the price.
00:06:30.200 Will that be a lesson learned?
00:06:31.480 I highly doubt it, given the rhetoric coming out of her husband thus far and their social
00:06:35.820 media accounts.
00:06:37.040 But everything is on video surveillance.
00:06:39.940 So I think she's going to have a very tough time getting out of this one. 0.96
00:06:43.800 Yeah, I mean, I can't imagine a dumber thing to do. 1.00
00:06:46.440 I mean, assuming that she did what police claim she did, which is to assault two beachgoers. 0.99
00:06:53.880 There were a group of four girls, essentially, and they were wearing patriotic colored sweatpants with the words Trump and ice on it. 0.99
00:07:05.120 She struck one of them across the face, allegedly, and body.
00:07:09.740 And so, you know, you're attacking a minor and you're a foreigner.
00:07:14.100 OK, so she may be married to an American, but she wasn't an American citizen herself.
00:07:19.100 And so she could end up doing time.
00:07:21.920 she could end up being deported 0.75
00:07:24.100 and if she's deported
00:07:26.020 she won't be allowed back 0.85
00:07:27.380 because she'll be a convicted felon 1.00
00:07:29.560 probably assuming that she is 0.99
00:07:31.840 convicted and so
00:07:33.500 you know her marriage 0.99
00:07:36.220 then is the trouble
00:07:37.900 unless you know
00:07:40.020 Matthew Garoni ends up going
00:07:41.960 back going to join a hurry in Canada
00:07:43.900 but she won't be allowed back it'll be very 1.00
00:07:46.040 hard for her to get back in the country if she's 0.85
00:07:47.840 deported having been
00:07:50.000 found guilty of this
00:07:51.040 this infraction. I mean, you know, I know being in America when I am, you know, I'm very sensitive
00:08:01.200 about being on my best behavior. I don't want to get in trouble with the authorities. I mean,
00:08:06.500 I don't want to get in trouble with authorities in Canada. But, you know, as a citizen, you know,
00:08:12.100 I have certain rights and certain expectations. You know, in Canada, I'm going to expect I'll
00:08:17.460 be treated a certain way. If you're in another country and you do something like this, again,
00:08:25.920 assuming that she did, I mean, I can't imagine what prompted her to do this, except to suggest
00:08:31.540 that these people are just now so unbelievably unhinged that they don't even have control
00:08:35.800 over what they do in public. What do you think? I would completely agree with that. And I'll say
00:08:41.760 something that presumably most people already suspect. This notion of tolerance is very
00:08:48.500 conditional. And the one condition is compliance, right? So I think the facts speak for themselves
00:08:56.000 in this case about the state of the minds of many people. And I think it is really such a shame. And
00:09:03.500 I put a lot of pressure daily on my own show when it comes to governments, lobbyists, activists,
00:09:10.060 you name it who seem to encourage this type of behavior it's it's so caveman era it's just not
00:09:18.000 that this is not civilized society or how people behave but it goes to show you how emboldened
00:09:22.780 they can become especially through social media feeds social media echo chambers and in just how
00:09:28.900 much they truly believe that they're right and they can cause harm to anybody that they think 0.87
00:09:35.440 isn't right, because I'm willing to bet that seeing a group of young girls, she probably would 1.00
00:09:41.240 have had some of the very classic rhetoric going through her mind of, oh, that person is an ist
00:09:46.060 or a phobe. They're a bad person. They're a threat to society. And I always reflect back. There was
00:09:51.160 an interview from an Antifa protest a number of years ago where one of these guys, and he's like
00:09:57.760 an Antifa whistleblower now, was interviewed during this. And he had said, they don't call
00:10:02.640 you a fascist so that they can end your life like they they you they don't say that just to be mean
00:10:10.600 right into how they say it to have an excuse like you have to be something in order for them to 0.86
00:10:15.780 cause you harm it doesn't matter if it's accurate or not you have to be whatever that label is they
00:10:21.180 have to strip all the nuance the context the humanity behind it so that they can then feel
00:10:27.180 as though they have the right to cause you harm to insult you whatever it may be and it's it is
00:10:32.420 such a big problem. And I fully recognize this stories in America and in much in many ways,
00:10:37.120 I'd say there's a lot of a lot more political violence and things of that nature that take
00:10:42.000 place in America per capita than they do in Canada. But this is a problem that is affecting
00:10:47.420 so many Western nations. And it's the exact same playbook time and time again. And when you really
00:10:52.220 break it all apart and break it down and you think to yourself, like people voted in President
00:10:58.020 Trump. He won the election, right? Even in Canada here, there's how many elections have we had and
00:11:04.860 people have voted the way that they did. And, you know, you can be upset about that. But being
00:11:09.560 upset to the point where you're going to do something terrible to a stranger, that is the
00:11:15.500 most anti-civilizational thing in the world to do. And I certainly do hope that in situations like
00:11:22.880 this, no matter what side of the political spectrum you are on, I think that consequences
00:11:27.140 should be upheld every single time. And you cannot let people feel so emboldened to just
00:11:33.720 approach somebody on a sidewalk like this. Imagine if it was flipped. Imagine if this
00:11:37.600 happened in the other direction. And while there are rare instances of similar things
00:11:42.860 happening and taking place, the data coming out for how frequently it really is the left
00:11:48.920 who is celebrating all of these things and glorifying these terrible actions. It's very
00:11:55.400 heavy leaning one way over the other and it's not right and people need to call it out and they need
00:11:59.320 to be punished and face consequences because it's not it's not human nature to behave like this and
00:12:04.680 it makes me really sad when i think about how much um civilization in many regards has declined and
00:12:10.920 it truly is for no other reason than political gain for the parties and the establishment that
00:12:15.400 wants to keep on winning because there's nothing wrong actually with wanting lower taxes or wanting
00:12:20.040 to protect your borders or wanting to have safe streets those were all common sense things that
00:12:24.760 that the liberals themselves advocated for
00:12:26.680 from the 70s to early 2000s.
00:12:28.800 And suddenly that's all switched.
00:12:31.540 Thank you so much for coming on the show, Jasmine.
00:12:33.220 We appreciate it as always.
00:12:34.860 Of course, take care.
