00:00:00.000 We need to save Canada. There's an attack on our youth. We are the target. We are the target because they understand if they can divide us, they will be able to conquer us.
00:00:09.060 As a drag queen danced on a stage for the pleasure of students today inside York Mills Collegiate Institute, a protest of that event, organized by high school students, took place outside of the school today.
00:00:21.640 Now, that protest of the drag show going on inside that school attracted a large number of students and, of course, a large police presence.
00:00:30.080 The protest was organized by Save Canada, a non-profit volunteer organization committed to opposing radical gender ideology in Canadian schools.
00:00:40.120 Despite the special occasion, the International Day of Pink, which seems to be a new day created to highlight the victims of anti-LGBTQ bullying,
00:00:50.560 these high school students just don't seem to be buying the radical gender ideology message being forced on them by the media, woke teachers, and woke curriculum.
00:00:59.220 True North was on the ground, as always, to highlight some of the voices the legacy media just don't want you to hear.
00:01:05.400 Listen to what some of the York Mills Collegiate students, including other high school students, like the ones who organized this protest,
00:01:11.380 have to say about the proliferation of these perverse and sexualized drag events taking place in their schools. 0.99
00:01:18.140 What do you think is behind this push to try and normalize drag shows at schools and at public libraries?
00:01:24.540 Well, I mean, them hand-picking the students that are allowed to go and watch this presentation is obviously because they're going to have,
00:01:33.820 I mean, I watch CTV, I watch CBC go in there, Rebel got turned away.
00:01:37.260 It's obviously staged the entire event.
00:01:40.220 They're going to do their best.
00:01:42.040 This is not all that there is.
00:01:43.820 They're going to do their best to silence anybody that voices any form of dissident to this.
00:01:51.440 But, yeah, I mean, I'm a little bit surprised that the Toronto Police Liaison are actually going to be representing this event.
00:02:02.440 And some of the police officers, I don't see them out right now, but earlier they were wearing pink hats and stuff in solidarity with this day.
00:02:09.760 And, I mean, pink shirt day, I mean, I'm not necessarily opposed to that.
00:02:16.440 The issue is that we have kids being indoctrinated in education system.
00:02:22.320 And that's obviously a bit of a threat. 0.92
00:02:23.900 I think it's disgusting and pedophilia.
00:02:25.820 I don't think it's the government's business, left-wing media's business at all as what children are doing with other children. 0.66
00:02:33.720 Now children choose to identify. 0.99
00:02:35.040 I think it's the stupidest thing I remember. 0.99
00:02:36.120 As you can see, there's so many people standing here right now opposed to what's happening here. 0.99
00:02:41.460 I think children in general should never be sexualized in any single way.
00:02:46.540 But that's not even the worst part.
00:02:48.560 The worst part is they only allowed a select few people to attend the assembly that they chose fit to assemble it.
00:02:56.140 And everyone else had to stay inside their classroom.
00:02:58.560 They were locked inside their classroom.
00:02:59.780 They were not allowed to roam the halls.
00:03:01.100 They were not allowed to physically see the assembly.
00:03:03.680 They were not allowed to protest about what's happening.
00:03:05.960 That doesn't make sense to me.
00:03:07.300 I think, as you can see, it doesn't make sense to most people here who are rooting with me.
00:03:11.920 I have no hate towards the people, but I personally think what's happening here is unjust.
00:03:20.060 I think that there's some agenda behind this with the LGBTQ plus community.
00:03:25.360 I don't mind LGBTQ at all, but they're trying to indoctrinate children with their ideologies, and I'm not cool with that at all. 1.00
00:03:34.860 Kids go to school to learn English, math, science, to socialize with friends, to phys ed.
00:03:42.120 Gender identity stuff shouldn't be taught in schools. 1.00
00:03:46.040 After a counter-protester waving a transgender flag tried to take over the makeshift pedestal being used by protest organizers, 0.93
00:03:53.500 including Josh Alexander, the high school student who had been arrested and expelled from his high school
00:03:58.500 for proclaiming there are only two genders,
00:04:00.180 Alexander and his team began handing out free Bibles to students who had just left their school for lunch.
00:04:07.920 Free Bibles. Free Bibles.
00:04:13.500 Embrace the truth. You've been taught a lie. Embrace the truth.
00:04:16.460 Christ is King and He died for your sins. You can have salvation.
00:04:20.340 Now, if that wasn't enough, when a student snatched the transgender flag out of the hands of that counter-protester, 0.71
00:04:26.320 the group of students who were clearly in support of the protest began cheering and laughing at that counter-protester.
00:04:34.640 I bet you didn't see this clip on the CBC.
00:04:36.780 He's understatement. He's understatement.
00:04:53.620 Now, despite the fact that the protest was peaceful,
00:04:57.000 what took place today outside York Mill's Collegiate Institute in Toronto
00:05:00.240 would have been illegal if it were to take place in Calgary.
00:05:03.440 As you all know, Calgary City Council passed a bylaw that would make it illegal for anyone to peacefully protest a drag queen story hour within 100 meters of that event.
00:05:14.180 That same bylaw was introduced in the Ontario legislature as a piece of legislation by Ontario NDP politician Christian Wong Tam just last week.
00:05:24.420 I asked a protester who is a mother of school-age children and a volunteer with a group called Mom Army about what she makes of this new push to criminalize protests for drag queen story hours.
00:05:35.320 If this were taking place in Calgary, you would be violating a bylaw and you could be subject to an enormous fine, even a year in prison.
00:05:45.620 But I don't really see any reason why they would need to legislate peaceful protesters to stand 100 meters away.
00:05:51.940 What do you make of this new push to criminalize protesting, but specifically criminalize protesting for drag shows for kids?
00:05:59.720 That's a really great question and I actually just got an email back from my MP because I went at this hard with the NDP petition that's going around right now.
00:06:08.280 And my response to that is I would like a bill put forward that says that drag performers and anybody that is sexually active or making sexual acts be outside of the 100 meters of schools, libraries and any public spaces that have children.
00:06:25.680 So I'd like to counter it, you know, to protect children.
00:06:29.580 Reporting for True North in Toronto, Harrison Faulkner.
00:06:38.280 Thank you.
00:06:39.280 Thank you.
