Juno News - Pierre Poilievre drives liberal TikTok INSANE

00:00:00.000 They're all racist and they should be denounced. 0.98

00:00:13.080 Welcome everyone to Ratioed. 0.95

00:00:15.160 My name is Harrison Faulkner.

00:00:16.160 Now, say what you will about the man, but Pierre Pauliev knows how to get a reaction

00:00:19.880 out of the left.

00:00:20.880 The left are absolutely petrified about him.

00:00:22.880 They know that he's competitive against Justin Trudeau, and you have to look no further than

00:00:26.200 TikTok to see these hilarious, hilarious reactions.

00:00:30.280 Also on the show, the slow, sad death of Canadian legacy media continues as CTV News fired Lisa

00:00:36.240 Laflamme, the chief national news anchor.

00:00:39.080 Now, if you were on Twitter, you might have thought this was the biggest story in Canadian

00:00:42.120 history.

00:00:43.120 Every single blue-check lefty journalist came out on Twitter, wrote heartfelt messages to

00:00:47.200 Lisa, not being able to see the fact that soon it'll be them in Lisa's position.

00:00:52.360 That's because the business model of these failing legacy media outlets are crumbling,

00:00:56.400 and I think they're starting to realize that.

00:00:58.400 And we wrap up the show this week with the Bank of Canada who are telling all Canadians,

00:01:02.800 inflation?

00:01:03.800 It's just in your head.

00:01:04.800 It's just because you're believing things are expensive.

00:01:07.000 It's not them.

00:01:08.000 It's not their actions.

00:01:09.000 It's not them inflating the dollar.

00:01:11.000 No, no, no.

00:01:12.000 It's just your beliefs.

00:01:13.000 Honest to God, you can't make it up.

00:01:14.320 They take home the ratio of the week award, and rightly so. 0.99

00:01:16.920 Now, we're having real trouble with YouTube these days.

00:01:19.320 They are suppressing our content and making it harder for True North videos to reach Canadian

00:01:23.480 viewers.

00:01:24.480 So help us all out by liking this video, sharing it, and commenting your thoughts.

00:01:28.760 All right, let's get into it.

00:01:29.760 Now, I keep trying to avoid TikTok, but man, the takes on that app are horrible.

00:01:34.880 Now, a lot of people probably think that the lefties predominantly live on Twitter.

00:01:38.620 And if you haven't seen TikTok, let me just tell you, you will be in for a wild ride. 0.92

00:01:43.400 They are insane, some of these people.

00:01:45.400 They live in different worlds than you and I. 0.83

00:01:47.120 We're not even in the same universe with these people.

00:01:49.280 These guys want to dish it out on Pierre Polyev.

00:01:50.720 They want to dish it out on conservatives.

00:01:52.480 And look, you know how it goes on Rayshad.

00:01:54.160 If you stick your nose too far out into the game, you're going to get checked.

00:01:57.040 And more often than not, it's going to be us on this show.

00:01:59.520 So sure enough, we found two of the most ridiculous Polyev takes on TikTok, and we're

00:02:05.120 going to show you them now.

00:02:06.080 And oh boy, does Polyev know how to trigger these guys.

00:02:09.120 My God, it's a skill.

00:02:11.440 It's a fine art he has perfected.

00:02:13.760 The art of triggering the left, it's brilliant.

00:02:16.240 Watch this.

00:02:17.280 Hi there, Kathy.

00:02:18.400 You asked a valid question.

00:02:19.920 So let's look.

00:02:21.200 Here's some content from Pierre's campaign website.

00:02:23.840 It's important to remember the Canadian values.

00:02:26.480 We'll be looking at that later on.

00:02:28.400 Now you asked me why I think Pierre's racist.

00:02:30.800 At the very least, he has some questionable ideas about race and racism. 0.97

00:02:34.640 Oh yeah, the racist with a South American wife and mixed race kids. 0.95

00:02:40.000 Yeah. 0.99

00:02:40.480 Okay.

00:02:40.800 Hold individually responsible anyone who says or does anything unacceptable while showing

00:02:48.480 support for the hardworking, law-abiding, peace-loving.

00:02:54.560 Now that was a clip when Pierre was asked about the convoy.

00:02:58.240 He basically used the whole couple bad apples.

00:03:01.280 They love using a couple bad apples.

00:03:03.440 Oh yeah, yeah. 0.99

00:03:04.320 The old every single person who joined the convoy protest were racist, awful people. 0.96

00:03:10.400 That old argument.

00:03:11.040 Where have we ever heard that before?

00:03:12.880 Conservative party members can stand with people who wave swastikas.

00:03:16.880 They can stand with people who wave the confederate flag.

00:03:20.320 We will choose to stand with Canadians.

00:03:23.520 So basically what he's saying is that you can't blanket everybody with the bad actions of a few.

00:03:27.920 No, you can't.

00:03:28.800 That's exactly right.

00:03:29.760 What he failed to acknowledge was that the organizers of this convoy, you know,

00:03:34.480 the ones that organized the convoy to support the truckers or

00:03:37.440 the overthrowing of the government or whatever it was for.

00:03:40.640 Just slip that little overthrowing of the government even though we've all seen and heard the organizers

00:03:45.440 of the convoy routinely say they're not here to overthrow the government.

00:03:48.640 It doesn't matter for the left.

00:03:49.600 We know that.

00:03:50.080 Oh, and yeah, because Poliev supports the rights of Canadians to protest peacefully,

00:03:54.800 he supports the individual bad actors in the protest.

00:03:59.120 All right, there.

00:03:59.760 Good logic. 0.79

00:04:00.560 You didn't mention that they're all racist and should be denounced.

00:04:05.360 That didn't come up. 0.60

00:04:07.120 They're all racist and they should be denounced. 0.99

00:04:09.760 So I guess it's okay to have the organizers be racist and Islamophobic and homophobic and... 1.00

00:04:14.960 Islamophobic and homophobic and racist? 0.98

00:04:17.600 Yeah, okay. 0.95

00:04:18.640 Anti-immigration and all that fun stuff. 0.98

00:04:21.120 But yay, truckers. 1.00

00:04:25.360 On that side of the house, they have a...

00:04:27.440 They have the man who fathered the carbon tax, put it up for adoption to his predecessor,

00:04:33.600 and now wants a paternity test to prove the tar baby was never his in the first place. 0.53

00:04:38.800 That's where we stand.

00:04:40.000 That's our leader.

00:04:41.920 Oof.

00:04:43.280 Mr. Poliev chose to use a very racialized slur in Parliament.

00:04:48.240 That's not a racial slur.

00:04:50.240 That's an interpretation of the word.

00:04:52.960 And the way Poliev was using it in the House of Commons, which of course would go over your head

00:04:56.880 because you're a lefty, was tongue-in-cheek. 0.58

00:05:00.240 He's talking about the fact that the Liberals at the time wanted to avoid taking responsibility

00:05:05.600 for the carbon tax which they now impose on Canadians.

00:05:08.240 That's what a tar baby is. 0.87

00:05:09.520 He was using the word by definition.

00:05:12.400 It's not racist to say that.

00:05:14.480 You should actually look up what that word means.

00:05:16.400 It means a sticky situation.

00:05:18.000 They don't want to take responsibility for owning the sticky situation.

00:05:21.280 It's a clever little play on words.

00:05:22.800 But no, you just make TikToks for a living and call people racist.

00:05:26.240 And when called out, he said he didn't really understand the terminology.

00:05:29.040 He thought it had to do with, like, oil sands.

00:05:32.560 No.

00:05:33.760 This also happened a few years ago when an MP decided to write some,

00:05:38.480 questionable anti-Semitic comments on Twitter.

00:05:41.280 Gotta love Twitter.

00:05:42.720 And as you can see under O'Toole, Pierre decided to retweet the post.

00:05:46.880 I guess he didn't know that it was anti-Semitic.

00:05:49.120 4 billion dollars.

00:05:51.920 Show me the tweet.

00:05:52.880 If it's anti-Semitic, it's anti-Semitic, and he should apologize.

00:05:56.080 But I just see an article from the National Observer, which, as we know,

00:05:59.360 is, of course, the most trusted name in news, especially in Canadian news.

00:06:02.560 I just see an article for them that says Paul Yev retweeted the article.

00:06:05.760 You really think Paul Yev would retweet something anti-Semitic?

00:06:08.000 Or is that just your interpretation?

00:06:09.920 Is that just National Observer's interpretation?

00:06:12.000 Billion dollars in compensation for those who partook in the residential schools over those years.

00:06:21.840 Now, you know, some of us are starting to ask, are we really getting value for all of this money?

00:06:27.280 And is more money really going to solve the problem?

00:06:31.280 My view is that we need to engender the values of hard work and independence.

00:06:36.720 Does anyone see anything wrong with what Paul Yev said in that clip that was probably, you know, over 10 years old?

00:06:42.880 He's saying we need to make sure that instead of just throwing money at a situation,

00:06:46.320 we actually teach people valuable skills to help themselves.

00:06:50.160 So instead of just throwing money down a pit and not knowing where it's going,

00:06:53.120 looking after the taxpayer.

00:06:54.480 No, you can't look after the taxpayer anymore.

00:06:56.160 You realize that.

00:06:57.040 You can't be concerned about where taxpayer money is going.

00:07:00.000 You have to just immediately bend to the demands of radical leftists.

00:07:04.880 You can't teach people the skills of helping themselves and being self-sufficient and job creators.

00:07:10.560 No, that would be terrible.

00:07:11.760 Let's just throw money at them and maintain a perpetual cycle of government handouts 0.84

00:07:15.760 that helps absolutely nobody.

00:07:17.360 That's the logic of the left.

00:07:18.320 And I'm afraid that the climate they have created now is one that

00:07:21.680 Paul Yev wouldn't even be able to say what he said in that clip because it's so politically incorrect.

00:07:26.000 But think about that.

00:07:27.120 Think about how it's become politically incorrect to be concerned about where taxpayer money is going

00:07:32.560 and to teach people and teach citizens valuable skills to help themselves.

00:07:37.120 No, they didn't partake.

00:07:38.480 They were taken.

00:07:39.440 But you know, get over it and work hard.

00:07:41.440 It will not be done if one's face is covered.

00:07:44.000 So we're not going to succumb to political correctness in order to accommodate a practice

00:07:54.160 that is not in line with Canadian values.

00:07:56.160 Based.

00:07:57.360 I don't even think again, Paul Yev would say these things because it's too politically incorrect.

00:08:01.600 Oh, but no, he's standing up for Canadian values.

00:08:04.480 Oh, my gosh.

00:08:05.600 You can't take driver's license photo when your face is covered.

00:08:08.480 Oh, my goodness. 0.99

00:08:09.520 What a horrible evil racist Pierre is. 1.00

00:08:11.920 What? 1.00

00:08:13.200 What a shock.

00:08:14.400 If you'll recall, Pierre Paul Yev was-

00:08:16.400 Okay, stop.

00:08:18.240 Lady, turn your fan off when you're filming a TikTok, please. 1.00

00:08:21.920 It's the basics of media, basics of recording.

00:08:24.720 Don't have a loud fan right by your speaker.

00:08:26.880 Can you try a little bit harder, please?

00:08:28.240 Yev was the cabinet minister in Stephen Harper's cabinet when he was prime minister.

00:08:32.880 Organizers who were loyal to Harper have been helping run Pierre's campaign.

00:08:37.200 Pierre is Harper's kid.

00:08:38.880 Top it off.

00:08:39.760 Oh, the three-word cuts.

00:08:42.960 Because you can't string together four or more words in a sentence.

00:08:46.160 It's kind of sad.

00:08:48.160 It's really cringe.

00:08:49.360 Look, guys, if this is who we're up against in the culture war,

00:08:52.080 then I think, you know, although sometimes, some days, it feels pretty tough for us.

00:08:55.600 Some days, we're really getting beat down by the left.

00:08:57.920 But think about it.

00:08:58.960 These are the people we're up against.

00:09:00.800 I wouldn't be too concerned.

00:09:02.160 Pierre's main contender, Jean Charest, is the former premier of Quebec,

00:09:06.880 and did not get along with Harper when he was premier.

00:09:10.160 Did you have to just cut the word Jean Charest?

00:09:12.800 That was one cut.

00:09:14.880 That was one cut for you.

00:09:16.160 Oh, my goodness.

00:09:17.200 I'm sorry.

00:09:18.080 Harper's endorsement says Pierre is a good conservative values guy and that he's modernized

00:09:22.880 conservative ideals and opened up the party to a whole new generation of voters.

00:09:27.120 What's not explicitly said there is that new generation is fringe voters, incels, untraditional

00:09:33.760 right-wing kooks.

00:09:35.280 Fringe voters, incels, untraditional right-wing kooks.

00:09:40.960 Oh, man.

00:09:42.240 That's you and me, guys.

00:09:43.520 Look, if it's the fringe voters, untraditional, incel right-wing kooks that are standing on

00:09:48.160 the side of freedom, that are standing on the side of fiscal responsibility, that are

00:09:51.360 standing on the side of patriotism, then count me in.

00:09:54.320 Because the last thing I'd want to be is some double-masked, triple-jabbed, 1.00

00:09:58.160 lefty-whining SJW making TikToks with a green screen.

00:10:02.240 That just don't represent the wider Canadian electorate.

00:10:05.200 No, no, you don't represent the wider Canadian electorate.

00:10:07.520 Working-class Canadian conservative who just wants freedom back, who just wants their life back.

00:10:11.360 No, no, you don't represent Canada.

00:10:12.960 Don't you realize?

00:10:14.160 It's not you who represents Canada.

00:10:15.760 It's people like this woman. 1.00

00:10:17.200 It's Justin Trudeau's supporters.

00:10:19.200 She and the rest of her ilk want you to know that you're just an untraditional, 1.00

00:10:22.720 fringe-voting, incel right-wing kook.

00:10:25.280 That's who you are.

00:10:26.640 And this woman here, well, of course, she's the knower of all things. 0.98

00:10:30.320 The slow, sad, and pathetic death-by-a-thousand cuts currently taking place inside Canada's

00:10:36.400 legacy media newsrooms took a big chunk out of one of the biggest newsrooms earlier this week. 0.81

00:10:42.320 When CTV News fired Lisa Laflamme, the chief national news anchor at CTV News over at Bell Media.

00:10:49.360 Now, it was rather unceremonious firing, I have to say, but if you were on Twitter,

00:10:54.000 you would have likely thought that what happened was the biggest news story to ever happen in

00:10:58.480 Canadian media.

00:10:59.680 Now, one of the funnier takeaways from this entire story was that Lisa Laflamme put out a video on

00:11:04.160 Twitter detailing from her side what had happened with the bosses at CTV News.

00:11:08.640 That video on Twitter has over four and a half million views.

00:11:12.560 That is more views than any one of these legacy media outlets could ever dream of getting if

00:11:17.120 their entire networks depended on it. Nobody could even come close to four and a half million

00:11:22.320 views on cable news broadcast. And it happened on social media where independent media outlets like

00:11:28.640 us at True North Play. It happened on social media after they had fired their biggest star.

00:11:34.400 Let that sink in for a minute. They got more views on Twitter than they could ever dream of getting

00:11:39.120 on TV. And it happened when they fired their biggest star.

00:11:42.080 Look, you never want to make jokes about someone losing their job. It's really the worst thing that

00:11:45.280 could happen. And that's not what I'm doing here. I'm just pointing out the fact that these legacy

00:11:48.560 media outlets are dying a slow death. The business model that has propped up these corporate media

00:11:53.760 outlets is crumbling. Half of these outlets are on the take from the Prime Minister. They've been bailed

00:11:58.320 out by a big media slush fund. And the other half are begging for the Liberal government's

00:12:04.080 attention. They're begging for them to realize how much good work they're doing to prop up this

00:12:08.080 government. Not once did any of these corporate media journalists ever hold this government to

00:12:12.560 account over COVID. Not once did any of these legacy media journalists tell you the truth about

00:12:17.520 what was going on in Ottawa during the protest. But no, all of a sudden, because the biggest legacy

00:12:22.080 media name in the game gets fired, we all have to pretend as though we support her.

00:12:26.880 We all have to pretend as though we feel bad. Canadians don't trust you guys anymore. They just

00:12:31.520 simply don't. And you've done nothing to try and regain that trust. Independent news, on the other

00:12:36.480 hand, are staffed by not the biggest teacher's pet in a journalism classroom, but by working Canadians,

00:12:42.240 people who actually understand what real Canadians are going through. That's why they trust independent

00:12:46.880 outlets. And that's why they will never trust legacy media outlets again. Now, when the news

00:12:51.040 dropped that Lisa Laflamme had been fired by CTV, CTV News immediately announced the replacement,

00:12:56.320 Omar Satchadina, a national news correspondent, someone who I think has respect in the legacy

00:13:01.760 media game, but probably not in the rest of Canada because we all know what the rest of Canada

00:13:05.920 thinks about these guys. But nonetheless, Omar Satchadina got the job from Lisa Laflamme. Now,

00:13:11.040 if you're looking at this story from the perspective I was originally, you're probably thinking to yourself,

00:13:14.560 they want to shuffle out the old white voice to bring in a new, 0.85

00:13:17.360 fresh face that satisfies the lefty box checkers. But actually, it turns out that with some good 0.98

00:13:22.640 reporting from Brian Lilly over at the Toronto Sun, it looks like the story's a bit more different

00:13:27.280 than that. It seems as though Bell Media were struggling to pay the giant salary of their

00:13:33.120 biggest star. That's because these legacy media outlets have a failing business model. They pay way

00:13:37.360 too much money for journalists that nobody reads and nobody watches anymore. So, sure enough,

00:13:42.400 sooner or later, all these businesses, all these corporate media businesses are going to end up

00:13:46.800 making the exact same moves. They're going to cut their biggest talent to try and bring in someone

00:13:51.520 cheaper who can do the exact same job. It's not going to impact ratings. They're always going to go

00:13:55.680 down, guys. It's not like you're all of a sudden going to turn the ship around. No Canadian is going 1.00

00:13:59.520 to say, actually, I was waiting for this move. I'm going to pick up a cable box now and turn on CTV News

00:14:04.880 prime time. That's not going to happen for you guys. Every single blue check lefty journalist in Canada 0.99

00:14:09.920 decided to come out and bash Bell Media. They said, this is a terrible decision.

00:14:14.160 How can they get rid of their biggest star? And they don't even, they don't even realize,

00:14:17.840 guys, that it's going to be them next. Them on their inflated salaries who aren't producing

00:14:23.040 good enough content to keep these ships alive. The cost cutting is going to continue. So they all came

00:14:28.240 out and they all said Bell Media made a big mistake. They shouldn't have done this. And I wanted

00:14:32.320 to highlight some of these ridiculous tweets. Look, we've got David Cochran over at the CBC. 0.86

00:14:36.480 If you remember David Cochran, Mr. Poutine Man. Well, he writes, my jaw's on the floor. Well,

00:14:52.080 well, if I worked at the CBC and I knew that my company was getting over a billion dollars every

00:14:55.600 single year, my job would be on the floor too. That never happened at the CBC. And we have David

00:14:59.600 Aiken, who only had the very worst things to say about people who protested in Ottawa. He writes,

00:15:04.720 wow, your fans are blindsided too, Lisa. No knock on Omar, but I cannot conceive of the Bell Media

00:15:09.840 spreadsheet jockey that came up with the formula that this was the best business decision for CTV's

00:15:14.320 audience. Nuts. You don't think so, David? Because I can. I can see exactly how this was the best

00:15:18.780 business decision. You can't pay journalists way too much money when all your businesses are failing.

00:15:22.880 It's basic business. Guys, honestly, these legacy media guys, they'll never learn. They are incapable of

00:15:28.560 realizing that Canadians don't trust them. They don't realize that True North, we're on the rise.

00:15:33.520 Them over at CBC, CTV, Global News, these big corporate cushy jobs, well, they're tanking. And I've

00:15:40.000 talked to a bunch of Canadians about this. They absolutely love it. So enjoy it, guys, because one

00:15:44.560 day it'll be you next. You notice how your grocery bill is a lot more expensive? You notice how every

00:15:48.880 single thing you buy is way more expensive than it once was, that it feels as though year after year

00:15:53.280 things are getting way too expensive? Well, the Bank of Canada, the people in charge of, you know,

00:15:58.060 controlling money supply, the people in charge of controlling interest rates, well, they think we're all 0.99

00:16:02.720 stupid, and they think we don't know what's going on. So they've just started a new campaign to try 0.99

00:16:06.720 and teach us a little bit about inflation. And apparently, we've been wrong about inflation this

00:16:11.760 entire time. You've been listening to economists and listening to professors tell you about what

00:16:15.760 monetary policy is and all that. Well, no, no, we've been wrong this entire time. They wanted Canadians to

00:16:20.160 know that inflation, it's actually just in your head. It's just you believing that inflation is high.

00:16:25.280 And the more you believe inflation is too high, the higher it'll get. Look what the Bank of Canada

00:16:29.120 tweeted on Monday. We keep talking about inflation becoming entrenched. What does that mean? Oh,

00:16:34.880 please go ahead and tell me, you genius experts over at the Bank of Canada. You're doing such a

00:16:38.240 great job. Tell us about inflation. The more people believe inflation will continue to increase,

00:16:42.720 and the longer they believe it will last, the more likely it is to remain high.

00:16:46.480 You hear that, guys? As long as you just believe inflation will come down, it'll come down. Not

00:17:01.040 like we need to make a change in how we're dealing with monetary policy. Not that we need to address

00:17:04.880 inflation once and for all. It's in your head. It's in your head. If you dream it hard enough,

00:17:11.360 your grocery bill will magically get smaller. Magic. They write this whole thread because

00:17:16.720 they really want us to know that we just, if we dream it, it'll happen. It's like the field of

00:17:20.240 dreams, but central banking. You know, if you believe it, it'll come down. If you believe it,

00:17:24.320 it'll come down. That's what they want to keep telling us. This comment here. According to Canada's

00:17:28.080 Ministry of Monopoly money, AKA the Bank of Canada, inflation is not a phenomenon occurring as a result of

00:17:33.280 political, fiscal, and monetary policies, but instead of belief system, like a religion. Welcome to 2022,

00:17:39.280 a new era of financial education provided by the Bank of Canada. A series of public service

00:17:43.440 announcements via social media explaining that Canadians are manifesting inflation,

00:17:47.440 and the longer we believe things are going to cost more tomorrow, the longer they will cost more

00:17:51.280 tomorrow. And here comes this person. If I think that the cost of housing, food, rent,

00:17:54.720 gas, education, and energy will go down, will it? Probably not, Chief, but it doesn't hurt a try,

00:17:59.520 right? All right, that's going to do it for us this week on the show. Thank you so much for tuning in.

00:18:02.880 Keep believing inflation will drop because maybe if you believe hard enough, it'll drop for all of us.

00:18:06.880 Thank you so much for tuning in. My name is Harrison Faulkner, and this is Ray Shea.
