Juno News - Rally at Rolly's Restaurant to protest vaccine passports

00:00:10.960 of Vancouver at Roley's restaurant. Roley's has gained notoriety recently because they have taken

00:00:17.120 a stance against British Columbia's vaccine passport program so as per provincial health

00:00:22.720 orders every table service restaurant in the province must ask for a vaccine certificate so

00:00:27.920 patrons have to prove that they are vaccinated against COVID-19. Now Roley's has taken the

00:00:33.840 position that it is none of their business to know the health status of their guests.

00:00:38.160 For taking that position Roley's was ordered shut down by Fraser Health the local health authority

00:00:43.840 in early October so for every day that they've remained open since then they're being fined

00:00:49.440 $100 a day by the municipality the District of Hope. Yes the District of Hope is fining us $100 a day

00:00:56.240 they took our business license away which is obviously completely irrelevant to the situation

00:01:02.080 um the health department is also fining us approximately $345 every two or three days

00:01:09.360 however often they get here and that's for defying the order to close. Today about 150 people came out

00:01:31.120 other guys they asked me what is the main reason this is for our future this is for the children

00:01:37.440 and we have to let them have what we had our whole life. Having a medical procedure to be part of a civil

00:01:44.640 society is not moral people tend to shy away from controversial issues and just want to follow the crowd

00:02:13.680 place so it's been great. The restaurant is absolutely packed inside they've got a major wait list

00:02:26.480 flowing in from people who don't want to wait around to dine so it's been a really positive atmosphere
