The United Nation's Human Rights Committee has lost its way, writes True North's own Leo Knight. They think they can dictate to nation-states, but they can't even deliver a fair hearing to complain about climate change, he writes.

00:00:21.400 it was racist to push it through and pointed to Wet'suwine tribal elders who are staging a

00:00:27.480 blockade north of Smithers, B.C. On January 10, B.C. Human Rights Commissioner Kassari Govender,

00:00:36.160 like the left-wing train seal that she is, immediately jumped on board. Only it turned

00:00:42.200 out that the Wet'suwet'en elders are a registered non-profit and not a First Nations band after all.

00:00:48.660 They're funded by foreign and viral activist groups. They should not be given any measure of

00:00:54.600 credibility whatsoever. They also learned that 20 actual First Nations bands did support the

00:01:01.520 project for the employment opportunities and the economic benefits to their members that the

00:01:06.620 pipeline brought. Oops, said Wet'suwet'en Amir. He said he didn't know that, and when asked why he

00:01:15.140 should make such a pronouncement without getting all the relevant facts, he said his committee's job

00:01:21.520 was not to do investigations. Why any country listens to the collection of fools that populate the U.N. 0.98

00:01:29.040 committees is beyond me. Just look at which countries sit on the United Nations Human Rights Council, 0.97

00:01:36.520 the UNHRC, currently comprised of such bastions of human rights as Somalia, Eritrea, Venezuela,

00:01:44.760 Armenia, Bangladesh, and Libya. Then there's the Human Rights Committee, which is separate from the

00:01:52.120 UNHRC. The committee acts as a semi-judicial body and hears complaints from aggrieved people.

00:02:00.120 Earlier this month, they released a ruling, essentially saying that nation-states couldn't deport anyone who

00:02:06.720 did not otherwise meet their refugee criteria if they claim that they are adversely affected by

00:02:13.600 climate change. I won't drill down on the details, but suffice to say it involved a man from a small

00:02:19.480 Pacific island nation who had claimed refugee status in New Zealand. The first problem is they think they

00:02:26.860 can dictate to nation-states. They're not the government of the world, much as they would like to be.

00:02:32.760 The second problem is their blind belief in climate change, despite the absence of evidence to actually

00:02:42.060 prove it in any way, shape, or form. Yet they hang their hat on it and even use it as the basis for

00:02:48.120 delivering judgment. The political left has been using the climate as their excuse to put together a

00:02:54.660 one-world government since the days of Maurice Strong, who in 1992 addressed the Earth Summit in Rio.

00:03:34.680 early as 1989, but it was really Strong in Rio who lit the fuse. Strong was a self-proclaimed socialist

00:03:42.080 who was also the architect of the so-called oil for food scandal, which propped up Saddam Hussein and

00:03:48.440 allowed all manner of corruption by those involved. Strong himself got caught with his hand in the

00:03:54.760 cookie jar and stole nearly a million dollars from the program. He was forced out of the UN when the

00:04:01.500 scandal broke and he lived out his life in exile in the People's Republic of China. Yet the fraud he

00:04:08.580 perpetrated on the world lives on, and is still blindly believed by the UN, its components, and foolish 0.97
