00:00:00.080 There are a lot of pressures on our system. Increasing the immigration levels, interestingly, will take some of the pressure off of the system.
00:00:17.680 Well, it's been another week to forget for Justin Trudeau. It just goes from bad to worse with this guy. Where do we even start?
00:00:23.160 Let's start on Friday, when the Globe and Mail got their paws on some internal CSIS documents, thanks to a very patriotic CSIS officer, which detailed the strategy employed by the Chinese Communist Party in the 2021 federal election to make sure that Conservatives lost and Justin Trudeau's Liberals won.
00:00:39.260 So then, in an act of desperation on Tuesday to try and curtail plummeting poll numbers, just take a look at Quebec, the Prime Minister held a town hall event in front of a suspiciously supportive crowd of construction workers, in which he managed to walk straight in to another gaffe.
00:00:55.680 And then the following day, just to put a nice bow tie on the week, he walked in to another gaffe.
00:01:00.840 And all of that is before we get to the ratio of the week, which also goes to a Liberal backbench MP for another gaffe.
00:01:08.020 Drop a like on the video, help us out by subscribing to the TrueNearth YouTube channel, and the comment question for the episode is this.
00:01:14.580 If the roles were reversed, and the Conservatives were the ones who benefited from Chinese election interference, how would the Liberals respond? Let me know, and let's get into it.
00:01:23.200 So last Friday, just as the Trudeau Liberals were able to wash their hands from the Emergencies Act report, this came from the Globe and Mail.
00:01:29.840 CSIS documents reveal Chinese strategy to influence Canada's 2021 election.
00:01:34.920 China employed a sophisticated strategy to disrupt Canada's democracy in the 2021 federal election campaign, as Chinese diplomats and their proxies backed the re-election of Justin Trudeau's Liberals, and worked to defeat conservative politicians considered to be unfriendly to Beijing.
00:01:49.980 Most important, the intelligence reports show that Beijing was determined that the Conservatives did not win.
00:01:55.880 China employed disinformation campaigns and proxies connected to Chinese-Canadian organizations in Vancouver and the GTA, which have large mainland Chinese immigrant communities, to voice opposition to the Conservatives and favor the Trudeau Liberals.
00:02:08.520 However, the Security and Intelligence Threats to Elections Task Force set up by the Trudeau government to monitor threats to federal elections never issued any public warnings about foreign interference during the 2019 or 2021 federal campaigns.
00:02:22.220 Now, isn't that convenient, guys?
00:02:24.060 The exact result that the Communist Party of China wanted, a liberal minority government, is exactly what Canadians got.
00:02:30.560 And on top of that, the task force that Justin Trudeau set up himself to monitor these elections found no interference, despite the fact that CSIS found election interference.
00:02:41.000 Now, without the bravery and courage of the CSIS officer who leaked these documents to the Globe and Mail, we would never know the extent to which the Chinese Communist Party interfered in the 2021 federal election.
00:02:50.340 Now, most of you watching this right now would probably think that the normal response would be you try and hold the Chinese communists responsible for this, but not to Justin Trudeau.
00:03:00.060 To Justin Trudeau, the person who really needs to be held responsible for all this is the CSIS whistleblower.
00:03:05.280 Just watch this clip.
00:03:06.200 You're very reassuring on the results of elections, Mr. Trudeau.
00:03:10.080 But what are you saying?
00:03:12.500 What do you have to say about the fact that people at CSIS are leaking secret documents?
00:03:17.000 Isn't there some discomfort within those agencies regarding China?
00:03:22.460 It's certainly a sign that security within CSIS needs to be reviewed.
00:03:27.140 And I'm expecting CSIS to take the issue very seriously.
00:03:36.220 For months now, Trudeau has been telling Canadians that he has no information and has never been briefed on any candidates in the 2019 or 21 federal election receiving money from China.
00:03:47.700 Remember when he said this back in November?
00:03:49.680 But let me be clear.
00:03:52.440 I do not have any information, nor have I been briefed, on any federal candidates receiving any money from China.
00:04:02.560 Well, The Globe and Mail reported on Friday that The Globe had reported that the Prime Minister received a national security briefing last fall in which he was told that China's consulate in Toronto had targeted 11 candidates in the 2019 federal election.
00:04:15.320 Let's be honest, guys.
00:04:16.320 Things are not looking so good for Justin Trudeau these days.
00:04:18.820 Over 67% of Canadians think the country is headed in the wrong direction.
00:04:22.380 His polling numbers in Ontario are not great.
00:04:24.520 And take a look at these polling numbers in Quebec.
00:04:26.340 In Quebec, Liberal support has dropped 5 points compared to last month.
00:04:29.900 Well, Justin Trudeau is doing his town hall tour of Canada to try and talk with Canadians face-to-face and get a sense of the issues that are important to them.
00:04:37.520 And given these numbers, he would think that there would be quite a lot of unhappy Canadians raising issues that all of us are dealing with.
00:04:43.780 But that wasn't the case on Tuesday in Woodbridge, where Justin Trudeau faced a suspiciously sympathetic and supportive crowd of construction workers of all people.
00:04:54.940 Even in a room full of what appear to be supporters, asking him extremely soft questions, Justin Trudeau managed to pull off this epic gaffe, which will most surely haunt him until the next federal election.
00:05:06.360 There are a lot of pressures on our system. Increasing the immigration levels, interestingly, will take some of the pressure off of the system.
00:05:15.800 Because the stream on bringing in permanent residents has got room to bring in more.
00:05:22.660 And it's when people come as refugees and try to flip or get refugee crisis status that it sort of slows down the system a little bit.
00:05:30.560 So increasing the levels will actually help bring in more people to respond to that.
00:05:35.300 That's right. Everything you thought you knew about immigration, everything you thought you knew about common sense, well, it's not true.
00:05:42.400 You see, in Justin Trudeau's eyes, in the eyes of the leader of the Canadian government, increasing immigration numbers will actually relieve the stress on our already stressed immigration system.
00:05:54.220 Yes, we have a long immigration backlog. You know what the answer to solving that immigration backlog is?
00:05:59.580 More immigrants. That's Justin Trudeau's plan, and it just makes total sense if, of course, you're not living in reality.
00:06:06.180 It is with that exact same unimpeachable logic that Justin Trudeau told us back in 2014 that the budget would balance itself.
00:06:14.520 The commitment needs to be a commitment to grow the economy, and the budget will balance itself.
00:06:20.400 Take a look at some of these comments.
00:06:21.680 Sure, while existing infrastructure in Canada can't handle the current citizens, recipe for disaster.
00:06:27.420 What do you mean? You can't get a passport renewed? You can't get basic services from your government?
00:06:31.120 Here's 500,000 more immigrants a year to help speed up that process, to help alleviate the pressure.
00:06:37.180 I replayed it twice. Is there an English version?
00:06:39.760 No, it only comes in Laurentian left-wing ideologue. Sorry about that.
00:06:43.100 Bring in more refugees. That will help to decrease crime and take the pressure off the healthcare system.
00:06:47.760 Just like taking in more debt makes it easier to pay off the debt. Oh well, the budget will balance itself.
00:06:52.760 These guys in front row, saying what we are all thinking without saying it.
00:06:56.500 Well played, Carpenter Local 27.
00:06:58.680 Yes, this event was held by the Carpenter's Local 27 Union.
00:07:01.840 I'm just going to guess that a lot of construction workers at the Carpenter's Local 27 Union are not the biggest Justin Trudeau fans.
00:07:08.880 I don't know what compels me to think that, but I just have a hunch.
00:07:11.700 Now, for whatever reason, the questions Justin Trudeau received were extremely mild, very soft.
00:07:18.280 In fact, they were softer questions than even Rosemary Barton would ask the Prime Minister.
00:07:22.420 So something clearly wasn't right.
00:07:24.700 I just liked what you said, how there's anxiety going on, and to unsettle the anxiety in Canada, it's like we need to play our part.
00:07:31.420 So what I'm asking is, what can we do to promote careers in the trades for more young people like myself?
00:07:35.580 I'm grateful that I have a refuge in Canada, but would like to know how you see Canada supporting Ukraine and Ukrainians.
00:07:43.660 Thank you.
00:07:44.560 My question is, what are you planning for long-term care so we have a better future in long-term care?
00:07:53.780 What other supports like H2H, Helmets to Hard Arts, can be offered to veterans for transition to civilian life?
00:08:00.960 And, you know, I'm just kind of wondering if you've ever thought about coming on site.
00:08:06.140 You know, just even for a few hours, I think it could be really inspiring for the workers.
00:08:09.400 Do you have any solutions?
00:08:14.060 Is the government planning to really invest in solutions in child care for us so that more women will join the trade?
00:08:19.640 I just had a question about grants for women, like apprentices.
00:08:24.580 Now, what happened to these town halls Justin Trudeau used to face?
00:08:27.440 You know, back before Justin Trudeau decided to embrace tyrannical lockdown authoritarianism and decide to invoke the Emergencies Act on the Freedom Convoy.
00:08:35.000 He used to face real questions from people actually struggling.
00:08:38.340 You've sold us out to globalism.
00:08:40.360 You are not working for Canada.
00:08:42.460 You are working for your globalist partners.
00:08:45.320 I wonder how much they're paying you to betray Canada.
00:08:48.040 My question is, what veterans were you talking about?
00:08:50.380 Was it the ones that fought for the freedoms and values that you so proudly boast about?
00:08:54.520 Or was it the ones who fought against?
00:08:55.680 Because, honestly, Mr. Prime Minister, I was prepared to be injured in the line of duty when I joined the military.
00:09:02.520 Nobody forced me to join the military.
00:09:04.340 I was prepared to be killed in action.
00:09:07.920 What I wasn't prepared for, Mr. Prime Minister, is Canada turning its back on me.
00:09:16.340 So which veteran was it that you were talking about?
00:09:18.840 I'm asking you, Mr. Trudeau, and here is my question today.
00:09:22.380 How do you justify to a mother of four children, three grandchildren, physical disabilities, and working up to 15 hours a day,
00:09:28.660 how is it justified for you to ask me to pay a carbon tax when I only have $65 left of my paycheck every two weeks to feed my family?
00:09:37.000 You can legalize marijuana, but we can't twin a pipeline, an existing pipeline, to the coast?
00:09:44.940 You know, you talk about, the fella up here, he wants to talk about balanced budgets and how you're going to deal with, you know, the money coming in and the income.
00:09:52.960 Well, we're just getting hosed on our oil, something terribly.
00:09:55.660 Like, get this pipeline in the ground, get it out to the coast,
00:09:57.940 and you're going to have a whole bunch more money that you can spend like a drunken farm wife after harvest in New York City.
00:10:02.980 But today, all we're getting are these canned, pre-written softball questions.
00:10:07.600 Jeez, guys, save some of the softballs for CTV and CBC.
00:10:10.720 Well, the week wasn't done for Justin Trudeau after that gaffe.
00:10:13.040 In fact, it was only on Tuesday night.
00:10:14.560 So on Wednesday, at a press conference, Justin Trudeau continued to face questions about Chinese election interference.
00:10:20.420 Here is the breakdown of Justin Trudeau's logic over the past few months, if you haven't been paying attention.
00:10:25.320 First, Justin Trudeau raised election interference concerns directly to Xi Jinping face-to-face.
00:10:32.540 Then, Justin Trudeau said that he didn't do that and he had never been briefed on election interference by China.
00:10:39.780 Then, after that, he said that although election interference did occur, it wasn't enough to skew the outcome of the election.
00:10:47.160 Then, after that, it was that the CESIS whistleblower who uncovered the fact that the Chinese did, in fact, interfere in the election.
00:10:53.580 He needs to be punished.
00:10:54.840 And now the logic is that anyone who has concerns about election interference is actually falling into political traps.
00:11:00.880 They're falling into partisan traps.
00:11:02.360 Foreign governments and foreign actors are trying to undermine people's confidence in democracy itself.
00:11:10.820 And amplifying and giving reason, giving partisan reasons to mistrust the outcome of an election, mistrust the experts at Elections Canada and in our security services and our top public servants who are saying that the election integrity held.
00:11:35.280 So, Trudeau's logic is that if you believe the Globe and Mail story, if you have questions about election interference, well, you're letting the communists win.
00:11:51.340 Unlike, of course, letting the communists win by being their preferred choice and winning the election.
00:11:56.220 And all of that leads us perfectly to the Ratio of the Week prize.
00:12:00.220 The winner of the Ratio of the Week prize this week is Jennifer O'Connell, a Liberal backbench MP.
00:12:06.020 After the Globe and Mail report dropped on Friday, the Parliamentary Committee for House Rules and Procedures convened an emergency meeting to discuss election interference.
00:12:15.660 Now, Jennifer O'Connell, being a good liberal soldier, doing the unfortunate job of having to defend the prime minister and the liberal government over this really unfortunate reality.
00:12:25.740 Well, she said that conservative MPs who raise questions about election interference are engaging in Trump-type tactics.
00:12:33.400 But foreign interference isn't about one candidate or 11 candidates.
00:12:39.060 It's about Canadian institutions.
00:12:42.360 And this is the same Trump-type tactics to question election results moving forward.
00:12:50.300 Now, those clips immediately went viral and backfired on her and backfired on Justin Trudeau and gave Justin Trudeau one more thing to handle this week that he probably didn't want to have to deal with.
00:13:00.480 Well, Jennifer O'Connell put the video of her talking that went viral up on her own Twitter.
00:13:04.940 Canadians alone determined the outcome of our elections.
00:13:08.100 Foreign interference is real and we need to continue to strengthen our institutions.
00:13:11.740 Conservative members who try to make this partisan-only serve to undermine our democratic institutions.
00:13:17.460 We will continue to take all action to protect Canadians and work closely with our allies and partners to respond to illegal and unacceptable behavior by authoritarian states like China.
00:13:26.860 And again, like any confident politician would do, Jennifer O'Connell did what they all do.
00:13:32.220 She blocked her replies.
00:13:33.560 I wonder why.
00:13:34.420 Didn't stop the ratio, though.
00:13:36.480 304 quote tweets to less than 150 likes at the time of this recording.
00:13:41.060 Only 146 likes to be specific.
00:13:44.180 In true liberal cowardice fashion, Jennifer shuts off her comments as she attempts some form of damage control.
00:13:51.440 People telling the truth, or reading as the case may be, don't shut off replies.
00:13:55.760 And the National Citizens Coalition, a great follow on Twitter, wrote this.
00:14:00.540 Gerald Butz would be proud of those walled-off replies.
00:14:03.560 For comments and concerns on CCP election interference and those who gaslight on their behalf,
00:14:08.500 Jennifer.O'Connell at Parle.GC.ca.
00:14:11.900 And there is a number to her Hill office.
00:14:13.860 A reminder to let me know in the comments, how would the Liberals react if the roles were reversed?
00:14:19.100 All right, that's going to do it for us this week on the show.
00:14:21.020 Thank you so much for tuning in.
00:14:22.340 My name is Harrison Faulkner.
00:14:23.560 I'll catch you tomorrow on Fake News Friday, and this is Ratio.
