JustPearlyThings - Pearl Calls Out Megan Foxx’s Hypocrisy

00:00:00.000 what up guys welcome to the just pearly things YouTube channel today I am going

00:00:05.560 to be doing a reaction video I'm going to be reacting to the top 20 celebrities

00:00:10.260 who shut down sexist interview questions it'll be interesting to see if I agree

00:00:14.940 if I also think that it is sexist but before I start do not forget to

00:00:19.080 subscribe to the channel and ring that notification bell that we are going to

00:00:22.120 be notified of my daily videos while you're at it like the video that is the

00:00:25.520 most important metric that YouTube uses to push you out in the algorithm so

00:00:29.880 like it takes a second come on help a girl out okay so now we're gonna react

00:00:35.100 what are you looking for in a man now to wear this coat I'm not looking for a man 1.00

00:00:40.440 let's start there welcome to Ms. Mojo and today we're counting down our picks for

00:00:46.680 the top 20 celebs who shut down sexist interview questions I'm just wondering

00:00:51.240 do you do that to the guys it's a thing that's just feel free to embrace it okay

00:00:57.660 you know it's interesting they only talk about sexism when it comes to women 1.00

00:01:02.880 when I see sexism for men I would say more common in the media um like for

00:01:09.500 example the men are trapped how many how many times has that been said in a

00:01:13.420 public platform I'm sure I'm sure there are instances and interviews that that

00:01:17.640 has come up and yeah it's all women oh we're so oppressed okay I'll just I'm

00:01:22.860 gonna try to come in with an open mind I know I know I know okay I'm inside my I

00:01:27.780 do every single day if you could use makeup or your phone one last time which one

00:01:32.820 would you pick makeup or your phone is this what you think girls have trouble 1.00

00:01:37.200 choosing yeah absolutely for this list what are you talking about yes look at

00:01:43.140 I'm not that big into makeup but every day I walk down the street and I see a 0.98

00:01:47.640 bitch that's got a cake on her face that's not it's not sexist men don't 0.99

00:01:52.500 wear makeup and and your phone yeah like girls are addicted to social media 1.00

00:01:57.480 let's look like let's just stop capping like criticizing part of our gender 0.91

00:02:02.160 does it make it sexist anyways we're looking at instances where stars did

00:02:07.440 not let sexist lines of questioning fly which of these responses do you think

00:02:11.700 was the most epic let us know in the comments all right let's okay oh I thought

00:02:16.200 we started okay Megan 20 Megan Fox Megan's the real deal this is this is

00:02:20.820 actually a project and a property that is very very close to your heart give the

00:02:25.900 audience a little sense of why this one's so important to you I mean I was a

00:02:29.520 child of the 90s in the 2014 film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Megan Fox

00:02:34.740 played the iconic character April O'Neil by taking on such a well-known part 0.99

00:02:39.240 she was inevitably opening herself up to some level of critique I didn't want her

00:02:43.920 to have to be rescued by her boyfriend or a guy like that she only ever gets

00:02:48.460 rescued by the Turtles and that was important to me during this interview

00:02:51.540 about the project so let me get this straight you don't think it's a little

00:02:57.540 sexist to say you'd rather be rescued by a turtle than a man maybe I'm tripping

00:03:05.760 maybe maybe I'm tripping I'm sure I'm sorry I'm tripping Fox was asked about 0.94

00:03:09.960 whether now was the time for more women to be taking on leading roles and

00:03:13.740 superhero films she acknowledged that the question was inane because how could

00:03:17.980 anyone answer anything but yes do you think that I would answer no no it is

00:03:25.000 not realistic when y'all have Scarlett Johansson this five five girl beating up 1.00

00:03:31.120 dudes like I'm sorry if I'm in trouble and someone sends a girl that's smaller

00:03:35.680 than me to help me anyways okay I'll listen I'll listen would answer anything

00:03:43.900 but yes to that question do you think I would be like no it's not time for women 1.00

00:03:49.180 to be in movies let's take it back 50 years this would have been a good

00:03:54.940 opportunity to ask some more thoughtful questions that would have garnered more

00:03:58.120 nuanced and compelling responses number 19 Amy Schumer while promoting her film

00:04:04.300 trainwreck Amy Schumer did an interview where reporter Matt Tilley asked her if 0.76

00:04:08.560 Americans use the word quote skanky when discussing her character in the film

00:04:12.520 you have the word skanky in America but we do have that word that word is an 1.00

00:04:17.320 offensive one no matter which side of the pond you hail from and sure if the

00:04:23.660 shoe fits if the shoe it's not sexist I'd call a dude a man or I would call a guy a 0.99

00:04:30.520 man whore and just like I would call girl ho or I don't really use the word skanky 0.99

00:04:35.980 that's more like in a British you know term but like yeah I just feel like guys we 0.99

00:04:42.520 are grandmothers great-grandmothers great-grandmothers may have faced real

00:04:48.160 sexism like they faced real sexism not now you call a ho ho and hell freezes over okay or did 0.91

00:04:58.120 not take the line of questioning lying down no but no come on that's the character of the movie

00:05:01.960 I'm not trying to offend you it's it's whatever you're trying to do you are that's a rude question

00:05:08.080 she managed to hurl insults at both his mother and wife and made it clear that what he was

00:05:12.600 suggesting was inappropriate not leaving till we get the car crash moment I mean that's what we

00:05:17.100 would love well then you're gonna have to get it from your wife when you go home 0.98

00:05:20.440 luckily in the years since okay if you've seen that movie I've seen that movie and I it was a

00:05:25.880 decent movie like you know she's a good actress and sometimes in that movie I liked her and that

00:05:32.640 was all her whole character was being a hoe that sleeps around and then gets wifed up by like the 1.00

00:05:37.900 nice guy it's like why do y'all sell these dreams to women that's not how usual anyways okay promoting

00:05:45.080 this film the entire media industry has learned a lesson or two about misogyny number 18 Charlize Theron

00:05:51.880 there's something feminist about this film would you agree with that Charlize Theron is a sort of 0.98

00:05:56.800 feminist film um you know what I think is even more powerful about it is that I think George didn't

00:06:04.420 have a feminist agenda up his sleeve at the Cannes Film Festival during a panel interview about Mad Max

00:06:10.360 Fury Road Charlize Theron was asked where she drew feelings of rage from in order to portray the

00:06:15.520 character of Furiosa she had a snarky response at the ready schooling the interviewer on the fact that 1.00

00:06:21.280 women experience strong feelings of anger just like men do yeah you've got this this rage within

00:06:26.200 you where does it come from uh surprise women have that she's like surprise we're crazy too we're 1.00

00:06:35.620 crazy yeah look at I think any dude that's dated a crazy girl you know we have right like it's not

00:06:45.280 I don't think that's sexist I just think women in general don't express that outwardly or men are

00:06:52.480 more aggressive outwardly like how do I put it like women are just seen as more like soft and feminine 1.00

00:07:00.380 and historically we have been we're just a different breed of women these days I don't know what to tell

00:07:05.380 you I'm not the only one considering how much sexist dialogue was already surrounding the expansion

00:07:11.460 of the Mad Max franchise we commend Theron for staying as strong in real life as she was in the

00:07:16.440 movie George has this innate understanding that women are just as complex and interested interesting

00:07:23.460 as men and he was really interested in discovering all of that number 17 Blake Lively and I saw that

00:07:30.180 this job isn't just great because you get to borrow fun clothes but it's great because because you get to

00:07:37.700 stand for people who need to be stood for while on the red carpet for Variety's Power of Women New York 0.98

00:07:42.500 Luncheon where she was promoting the Child Rescue Coalition Blake Lively was asked a question that had

00:07:47.600 nothing to do with the cause she was there to bring attention to an interviewer from the Today Show's

00:07:52.020 online branch asked Lively what her quote power outfit was and she snapped back about how clothing 0.74

00:07:57.760 should not be what they're focusing on she demanded whether the reporter would have asked a man the 0.88

00:08:09.380 same question and we've got to assume they would not have I just feel like this this is what we're

00:08:16.700 offended about today someone asked you about your dress I understand like it's it's a an event for

00:08:23.800 like a charity type thing but like a good cause I get that but I've been to events like okay

00:08:33.580 probably not that nice that's you know out of my league but I've been to events like that and

00:08:37.540 if someone asked me about my dress like I wouldn't be trippin that's I feel like sometimes we we'd like

00:08:46.000 want to be victims like what what sexism have you experienced in your life well someone asked me

00:08:51.280 about my dress once at a event that I went to huh huh I feel very grateful on the other hand that we

00:09:01.180 are all becoming so much more conscious and we're becoming so much more involved and we're becoming

00:09:04.540 active and I feel like there's an awakening that's happened number 16 lady gaga also in your videos

00:09:12.160 it's as important to me as it is to you isn't sex important to everyone all the way back in 2009

00:09:29.380 when lady gaga wasn't yet the mega star she is now she was asked a question about whether she's scared

00:09:34.480 that the provocative nature of her songs would overshadow her musical talent having sexual 0.97

00:09:39.700 references can it undermine music because the sexual references um a lot of people focus on that

00:09:47.080 I'm not scared are you scared no she responded confidently that men who write songs about sex

00:09:53.180 are called rock stars while she gets asked questions about whether it will negatively affect

00:09:57.600 her image but when I do it my music and in my videos because I'm a female because I make pop music you

00:10:06.240 are judgmental and you say that it is distracting she finished by sir yeah because men and women are

00:10:13.680 different I mean if we're gonna go off a technicality I guess maybe that one qualifies but not you know

00:10:23.220 not really no no no I'm a backup backup if you're gonna be doing all this sexual stuff on camera and

00:10:30.060 it's a part of your shows you can't be mad if someone asks you about it just like if there was a

00:10:35.340 magic mic style show okay a few dudes doing like magic mic style so they might get asked about it too

00:10:42.060 I don't I just think we're reaching like what I'm just thinking we're talking to our grandmas great

00:10:47.980 grandmas from the 1920s and they say what what sexism have you experienced and she said well 0.92

00:10:52.620 I was twerking on stage and someone asked me about it
