00:00:00.000 Robert Downey Jr. was asked about character development, and Johansson was asked about her fitness regime.
00:00:05.160 And to Scarlett, to get into the shape of Black Widow, did you have anything special to do in terms of the diet?
00:00:12.560 Like, you have to eat some specific food or that sort of thing.
00:00:16.800 Instead of responding, she questioned why her co-stars got the interesting questions.
00:00:20.960 Yeah, well, I'm not trying to be rude.
00:00:23.840 Robert Downey Jr. is a better actor than you.
00:00:27.160 Half the reason you're here is because you're hot. 0.62
00:00:28.980 But you're not complaining about getting opportunity because you're hot.
00:00:32.740 But then when someone comments on you being hot, boo-hoo, cry me, r-
00:00:36.020 Please.
00:00:37.740 While she was only asked about her figure,
00:00:39.700 Like, how come you get, like, the really interesting, like, existential question, and I get the, like, rabbit food question?
00:00:45.520 Similarly, she seems to be asked quite often about the undergarments she wears under her Black Widow costume.
00:00:50.880 Does the Hulk have ripped-up CGI tighty-whities under his ripped-up CGI pants?
00:00:55.760 We may never know.
00:00:57.180 Is it inappropriate?
00:00:57.860 To ask somebody what kind of underpants they wear?
00:00:59.960 I didn't ask you what kind.
00:01:01.360 You just asked me if I was wearing any.
00:01:03.120 Number 4.
00:01:04.220 Rowan Blanchard
00:01:05.040 The Girl Meets World star had the perfect response when a red carpet reporter once asked her if she had any dieting tips for other teenage girls.
00:01:17.420 Blanchard, who was only 13 at the time, told Elle that she questioned whether they'd ever ask about dieting tips for teenage boys.
00:01:24.680 I kind of feel strongly about everything, especially anything that relates to girlhood and being a girl.
00:01:30.920 She went on to assert that she does not diet.
00:01:33.180 I mean, they might ask that if the dude's jat.
00:01:36.300 And that if she has one food-related tip for fans, it's that, quote, if you don't order fries, you'll probably be mad.
00:01:44.820 Poignant and true.
00:01:46.300 Our image has always been kind of painted by men or for men.
00:01:51.260 Why is she this young spewing this nonsense? 1.00
00:01:54.880 She's supposed to be a kid. 0.99
00:01:56.420 When you see it, she's not supposed to hate men at freaking 13 years old. 0.90
00:01:59.960 A girl take a selfie in public, and she's literally in control of how she wants to look and how she wants to be portrayed.
00:02:06.500 There's such power in that.
00:02:08.240 Number 3.
00:02:08.820 There's power in taking a selfie?
00:02:10.740 Oh my God.
00:02:11.540 Hathaway.
00:02:13.340 After having a much-reported-upon wardrobe malfunction at the premiere of her 2012 film Les Miserables,
00:02:19.480 Anne Hathaway sat down with The Today Show's Matt Lauer.
00:02:22.340 He jumped right into things by asking her what was the lesson learned.
00:02:25.760 I was very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment,
00:02:31.440 and rather than delete it and do the decent thing, sells it.
00:02:34.840 Rather than allowing herself to be blamed,
00:02:36.560 she turned his question around and put the blame squarely on the photographer and the population who will pay for such an image.
00:02:42.760 And I'm sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies sexuality of unwilling participants,
00:02:48.160 which brings us back to Les Mis, because that's what my character is.
00:02:50.720 She is someone who is forced to sell sex to benefit her child because she has nothing, and there's no social safety net. 1.00
00:02:57.540 Stop it. Stop it. 1.00
00:02:59.160 There are single fathers out there, and they have to get a job. 0.99
00:03:03.760 You are not forced to be a hooker. 0.99
00:03:06.040 Oh my. 0.99
00:03:07.260 Stop it.
00:03:10.640 You're good.
00:03:12.520 Look, I understand there's hard times.
00:03:14.360 I understand there's people that have been in situations where they have to make decisions that I will never have to make. 0.95
00:03:20.220 But nobody forced you to be a hooker. 1.00
00:03:22.440 No one forced you to be a hooker. 0.97
00:03:25.940 Anyways. 0.83
00:03:26.260 And I, yeah, so, um...
00:03:29.580 Unfortunately, this wasn't the only time Hathaway was faced with sexist questions.
00:03:34.320 While doing press for The Dark Knight Rises, Anne Hathaway was asked about her feline fitness routine.
00:03:39.620 What is the feline fitness regime?
00:03:43.160 Um, a lot.
00:03:44.380 It's all the boring stuff that no one ever wants to do.
00:03:47.760 It's just watch what you eat and get yourself to the gym.
00:03:49.420 After trying to deflect the line of questioning away from her Catwoman costume and her body,
00:03:53.940 she finally had enough of his persistence and she turned the question right back on him.
00:03:58.260 Any particular workout?
00:03:59.320 Are you trying to lose weight?
00:04:00.380 Well...
00:04:00.600 What's, what's the deal, man?
00:04:02.240 You look great.
00:04:02.880 No, no, no.
00:04:03.500 No, no, seriously.
00:04:04.380 We have to talk about this.
00:04:05.860 What, what do you want?
00:04:06.600 Are you trying to fit into a cat suit?
00:04:08.300 Number two.
00:04:09.120 Ariana Grande.
00:04:09.840 The side-to-side singer was not going to take any gendered questions when she was participating 1.00
00:04:15.340 in a radio interview in the mid-2010s.
00:04:17.900 The hosts of the show, who all happened to be male, asked her if she had to give up one
00:04:22.000 thing, her cell phone or her makeup, which it would be.
00:04:25.200 If you could use makeup or your phone one last time, which one would you pick?
00:04:30.580 Makeup or your phone one last time.
00:04:31.660 Is this what you think girls have trouble choosing between? 0.95
00:04:33.980 Yeah, absolutely.
00:04:34.880 She responded right away by letting them know she thought the question was a sexist
00:04:39.620 one.
00:04:40.020 Ladies, learn. 1.00
00:04:41.320 Listen and learn, ladies.
00:04:42.960 Boys, learn.
00:04:44.060 Oh! 0.60
00:04:44.560 As the interview went on, however, they continued to put an emphasis on things that girls do. 0.99
00:04:49.940 And she eventually had to lay down the...
00:04:52.260 Bruh, I mean, guys, some stereotypes exist for a reason.
00:04:57.860 I'm a girl, I'm addicted to my phone. 0.99
00:04:59.600 Half the bitches I know are addicted to their phones. 1.00
00:05:01.900 Can we just stop playing? 1.00
00:05:03.920 Can we stop playing?
00:05:04.480 Blessing.
00:05:05.360 Blessing.
00:05:08.100 He's camera shot.
00:05:09.180 He's not going to be on camera.
00:05:11.480 Your girl always on her phone?
00:05:14.940 Yeah.
00:05:18.600 Like, it just is what it is.
00:05:20.820 Yeah, there's a lot of dudes that are addicted to video games.
00:05:24.520 You know someone, a dude that's addicted to video games?
00:05:27.600 I used to be like that.
00:05:28.580 Yeah?
00:05:29.120 Yeah.
00:05:29.540 Does that make me sexist?
00:05:31.260 No.
00:05:31.820 No?
00:05:32.080 No.
00:05:32.180 So why do these...
00:05:33.840 Like, why?
00:05:35.920 She's offended over that.
00:05:37.560 It's true!
00:05:38.960 Okay.
00:05:39.740 Law for them.
00:05:40.560 Boys.
00:05:41.100 You need a little brushing up on equality over here.
00:05:43.860 Come on.

00:05:59.000 Number one, Helen Mirren.
00:06:02.460 Do you think, I mean, you are, in quotes, a serious actress.
00:06:06.660 In quotes?
00:06:07.020 What do you mean in quotes?
00:06:07.780 In quotes.
00:06:08.560 Today, feminism is no longer a dirty word, and many stars proudly claim it. 1.00
00:06:14.320 In 1975, however, speaking up about issues of sexism was much more difficult, and not always as well-received.
00:06:21.540 Do you find, in fact, that this, what could be best described as your equipment, in fact, hinders you, perhaps, in that pursuit?
00:06:28.580 I'd like you to explain what you mean by Michael.
00:06:31.480 Helen Mirren appeared on Michael Parkinson's iconic chat show early in her career, and found herself cornered into an uncomfortable conversation. 0.97
00:06:38.960 Except for I'm a serious actress, because serious actresses can't have big bosoms. Is that what you mean? 1.00
00:06:45.320 Well, I think that they might sort of detract from a performance, if you know what I mean.
00:06:48.640 Parkinson seemed to focus on her body, rather than her abilities as a-
00:06:52.240 Oh my god, but no-
00:06:52.960 If you don't want to be fo- 0.97
00:06:54.540 Okay, stop it.
00:06:56.740 You know, if you want to go somewhere where you won't have your looks be the focus, go be an engineer.
00:07:04.300 Go lay bricks.
00:07:07.300 Why do women- 1.00
00:07:09.040 You go, put yourself on a screen where they're looking for beautiful women, 1.00
00:07:13.760 and then complain that people notice that you're beautiful.
00:07:16.500 Go lay bricks.
00:07:17.400 Go lay-
00:07:18.940 And while the clip is uncomfortable to watch, seeing Mirren own him is totally worth it.
00:07:27.000 What a crummy performance, if people are obsessed with the size of your bosom or anything else. 0.91
00:07:32.420 I would hope that the performance and the play and the living relationship between all the people on the stage and all the people in the audience overcome such-
00:07:42.400 Nayski, it didn't, because that's still the question that he asked.
