00:07:00.400 of demons i think we're talking about what you think specifically this is the entire contention

00:07:05.080 of what i think is irrelevant so it depends on what your perspective if not now i come from a

00:07:10.500 biblical perspective and so i would frame what if you're going to invoke the word demons you're

00:07:16.800 using a biblical term and you have the idea of demons and other cultures and other religions

00:07:24.020 like the jinn to the muslims but but i think what you guys mean is is demons in the biblical sense so

00:07:33.100 if you're going to talk about demons in the biblical within the biblical context

00:07:37.340 then you have to refer to the cosmological worldview of the ancient hebrews otherwise

00:07:44.120 you're no longer using the term biblically. Now we have, the word demons has been mangled

00:07:50.280 and redefined, and it's been, it's in the words of Bilbo Baggins, it's like

00:08:00.100 butter spread over too much bread. It's used very, very broadly today, and it's, the use of it is so

00:08:09.620 broad that it really doesn't mean anything anymore. So the first thing that we have to do

00:08:16.220 is define our terms. So within the context of biblical cosmology, of ancient Hebrew cosmology,

00:08:23.200 a demon is something very, very specific. It is exclusively the disembodied spirit of a Nephilim.

00:08:31.640 That's all it is in the biblical context. These are the unclean spirits, the evil spirits, 0.95

00:12:59.800 Satan presenting himself as a minister, as an angel of light. Well, the word there is angel,

00:13:05.920 which means messenger or minister. He's a messenger of light. He presents himself

00:13:11.220 as a good guy, when in fact, he is a bad guy. That's not to say that he metamorphosizes his

00:13:20.380 appearance from something ugly to something beautiful. There's no reason to believe that

00:13:27.200 the sons of God, that the good sons of God, look any different than the bad sons of God.

00:13:32.780 Now, there's a couple of caveats we could discuss later if you want in regard to their

00:13:37.980 appearance, but that's just not the case.

00:13:40.700 Angels, as you guys, I'm sure, are well aware, do not have wings, and in the biblical context,

00:13:46.720 whenever there's an angel that's introduced into the narrative, they always look like

00:13:55.300 In fact, we find out, both in Genesis 6, but then also, more broadly speaking, in the Second Temple literature, especially in the Book of Enoch, that not only do we look similar, but we are reproductively compatible with them.

00:15:03.100 Therefore, what these Iron Age people are describing is something much more akin to an airplane or an aerospace craft.

00:15:27.640 eat and drink in the kingdom of heaven in fact in the song the psalmist says that the children of

00:15:34.080 the children of israel ate the grain of heaven in the wilderness the sustenance of the angels

00:15:42.460 that of course was manna and manna wasn't bread it was grain that was collected and baked into bread

00:15:49.280 and the Israelites ate that bread in the wilderness.

00:15:54.460 And if we're to take this almost literally,

00:15:56.700 then we're talking about grain that is from heaven.

00:15:59.660 It is literally the sustenance of angels.

00:16:01.320 So what I'm trying to do here is illustrate that the kingdom of heaven

00:16:08.840 and the beings that inhabit it, specifically the sons of God,

00:16:12.020 are not all that different from us.

00:16:14.380 and there's a stark difference between the sons of god and the unclean spirits the evil spirits

00:16:22.380 the demons there's a very there's an important distinction there they are disembodied demons

00:16:29.760 are disembodied and again their origin is exclusively in the antediluvian world

00:16:35.880 they were the these unclean spirits proceeded from the bodies of dead giants and those spirits

00:16:43.880 wander the earth as vagabond wraiths,

00:16:46.740 bodiless vagabond wraiths. 0.58

00:17:34.540 And that is precisely the condition of the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim.

00:17:42.040 Now, there are, of course, embodied Nephilim, I think, still in the world, in Afghanistan, for example.

00:17:49.220 Those embodied Nephilim are encountered in the Old Testament in multiple occasions, especially in the land of Canaan, in which you have clans of giants who descend from the Nephilim.

00:20:02.280 All of this is obviously symbolic. The cherubim, the way that they're depicted is clearly symbolic because cherubim are depicted in two different ways.

00:21:45.860 book of Enoch, he never goes to heaven. He's always dreaming, always in every case. So the

00:21:52.880 prophet is asleep or he is sitting by the river or what have you in a trance. What does that tell

00:22:00.140 you, that tells you that the experience is perceptual, that this individual, be it Isaiah

00:22:08.160 or Ezekiel or any of the prophets, Jeremiah, their experience is happening in a perceptual

00:22:15.840 world. They didn't go anywhere. You could walk up to them, and they would either be laying in

00:22:22.220 their bed completely asleep, you know, in deep rim sleep. You could poke them. They're right

00:22:27.520 there in their bed, or they'd be sitting somewhere in a trance. And so they're having a perceptual

00:22:34.140 experience. They're not actually going anywhere. And we know, we would all concede, if you had a

00:22:40.520 dream, if you had a really profound dream, let's say you had a dream last night, it was a very,

00:22:45.880 very profound dream, and so profound that when you woke up this morning, you wondered if you

00:22:51.600 actually had gone somewhere, or if you were just laying in your bed dreaming, and you saw all

00:22:56.880 manner of strange things in your dream. You saw centaurs flying around with wings and fawns and

00:23:01.960 all kinds of mythological creatures and rainbows and all different kinds of symbolic images.

00:23:12.040 When you woke up in the morning, you would not assume that anything that you saw in your dream

00:23:17.860 was literal. You wouldn't do that. You wouldn't go meet your friend at the coffee shop and say,

00:23:24.060 hey, I saw a centaur yesterday. I saw one. It was there. I saw one. These things are real.

00:23:38.180 dream in which I saw these things. So these are perceptual experiences. And the material,

00:23:45.640 the information that is delivered to prophets through a perceptual experience is symbolic.

00:23:54.080 It's meant to convey information. And that is the case with cherubim. That is the case with

00:23:59.960 seraphim and everything that is beheld within those kinds of perceptual experiences.

00:24:05.500 It is a world of symbolism and it has to be interpreted as such, or you'll make the mistake

00:24:15.600 of attempting to derive literal interpretations from symbolic iconography from the ancient Near

00:24:34.000 and chariots of fire. Like I agree, like if Isaiah in chapter six, he's seeing these six

00:24:38.480 winged seraphim, they're flying around, they're saying, holy, holy, holy. And they bring this

00:24:42.000 uh, coal down and put it on his lip. I see what you're saying. We're like,

00:24:45.020 that's like in a vision that potentially those six winged creatures don't exist.

00:24:49.560 I don't know. That's, I think there's maybe some debate on that,

00:24:52.140 but I think that's going to take the conversation sideways because what we're

00:24:55.560 really discussing, no, no, I think this is what we're on.

00:31:44.240 they're not. The cherubim are prevalent all over the ancient Near East. You have to this day

00:31:49.940 depictions of cherubim on the ancient walls of Babylon and temples of Babylon. These are

00:31:57.720 ubiquitous across the ancient Near East. They're symbolic of throne guardians. That's what the

00:32:04.240 cherubim represent not just in the in the bible but in the ancient near east con eastern context

00:32:09.360 generally speaking they're throne guardians that's how they're depicted in in sometimes they're

00:32:15.360 um they're depicted uh as a different composite of of creatures but in many cases they're literally

00:32:21.600 what the bible describes in babylon and in in in there's some sumerian depictions of this kind of

00:32:28.000 thing as well. So we have to concede that this is, that these creatures are symbolic in the

00:32:34.960 ancient Near East. This is iconography. And in the Bible, it's very specific in both references

00:32:43.280 to Cherubim, in the multiple references to Cherubim, these four composites, I mean, the

00:32:47.480 composite of these four creatures. So when we take a look at the four creatures, we realize that there

00:32:52.560 is a correlation to what we call today the Zodiac. And when I invoke the Zodiac, people think

00:32:58.760 immediately that we are now in a pagan arena. Not so. The Hebrews have the Zodiac. They called it

00:33:07.220 the Matzeroth. In fact, were you to go back in time during the time of Christ, if you were to

00:33:12.720 enter a synagogue, many of the synagogues had a depiction of the Zodiac on the wall, which is

00:33:18.200 called the Matzeroth. And the Matzeroth appears in the Bible in several passages, a couple in Job

00:33:25.020 and elsewhere. In fact, there's many passages that reference the signs of the Matzeroth,

00:33:31.480 the signs of the Zodiac. Those appear all over the place. And I would contend that the depiction

00:33:36.460 of the cherubim is an invocation of the Zodiac. Why? Because, again, you have the face of the man.

00:33:42.360 The face of the man is representative of the sign of Aquarius, which is a man carrying a pitcher of water or pouring out a pitcher of water.
