00:00:00.000 You're a man of action. You live life to the fullest. Embrace your fears and boldly chart your own path.
00:00:06.020 When life knocks you down, you get back up one more time. Every time.
00:00:10.480 You are not easily deterred or defeated. Rugged. Resilient. Strong.
00:00:15.500 This is your life. This is who you are. This is who you will become.
00:00:19.760 At the end of the day, and after all is said and done, you can call yourself a man.
00:00:24.720 Hey, gentlemen. What is going on today? My name is Ryan Michler, and I want to welcome you to the Order of Men podcast.
00:00:30.820 Whether you're new or you've been listening in for three years now or somewhere in between.
00:00:36.000 Either way, you are plugged into what I would consider the definitive podcast for men.
00:00:41.680 We interview extremely successful men, extract their wisdom, and then, of course, we share it with you.
00:00:46.800 And in addition to those interview shows, guys, we also have this show, Your Friday Field Notes,
00:00:50.600 where you get to hear from me and some of my thoughts from throughout the week.
00:00:53.620 I am back from vacation. I took about two and a half weeks off to the islands of Hawaii,
00:00:59.140 and what an amazing experience, but I'm back. I'm ready. I'm ready to get after it.
00:01:02.980 Ready to get after 2018, like I'm sure a lot of you guys are.
00:01:05.800 Now, guys, before I get into the discussion today, I do want to ask you for something that's only going to take you one to two minutes.
00:01:11.640 One to two minutes. Not a lot of your time.
00:01:13.720 Will you please share this show with another man that needs to hear it?
00:01:16.680 Subscribe to the podcast, and then third, leave us a rating and review.
00:01:20.160 Again, it's only going to take you a couple of minutes, and it goes such a long way in helping us gain visibility
00:01:24.180 and spread this much-needed message throughout the world.
00:01:28.240 Again, share it, subscribe to the podcast, and then leave us a rating and review.
00:01:31.840 That's it. That's all I need from you guys right now.
00:01:34.020 Today, I want to talk with you about our event coming up.
00:01:37.180 Most of you know by now that we do have our live meetup in Nashville coming up January 26th and 27th, 2018.
00:01:43.920 A lot of you are probably sick of hearing it,
00:01:45.860 but this is going to be probably one of the last times that I'm going to mention it because it is coming up.
00:01:49.180 It's going to be an absolutely killer event, and I want you there with us.
00:01:52.740 So today, I thought I'd pull back the curtain a little bit and share with you some of the details
00:01:56.580 so you know what we're up to for that actual event.
00:01:59.620 If you've been to one conference, you've been to all of them,
00:02:02.260 but what we wanted to do here is create something truly incredible
00:02:04.980 because the last thing that I personally want to do is sit in a hot, stuffy conference room for two days
00:02:11.180 and be talked at and lectured at.
00:02:13.220 I can't imagine that you'd want to do that either.
00:02:14.860 So at the risk of giving away all of our ideas on how to run an effective meetup for men,
00:02:19.460 unlike a lot of these conferences do, I want to break down eight different factors,
00:02:23.680 eight different things about this event that you're going to want to be part of.
00:02:26.680 Number one is an Iron Council evening.
00:02:29.360 So this is first things first.
00:02:30.560 If you are part of the Iron Council, which is our exclusive mastermind,
00:02:34.720 if you're not part of that, you can learn more at orderman.com slash Iron Council.
00:02:39.120 Again, if you are part of that, part of the Iron Council,
00:02:41.480 you're actually going to get an additional evening free of charge.
00:02:44.380 There's no additional cost for this evening if you're a member of the Iron Council.
00:02:47.240 So if you are coming anyways, or you're on the fence about joining the Iron Council,
00:02:51.540 now's the time to join and get registered for this extra evening.
00:02:54.820 Again, you can do that at orderofman.com slash Iron Council.
00:02:58.000 And here's how this will play out.
00:02:59.200 We're going to be hosting an exclusive Iron Council dinner.
00:03:02.420 So you can meet with me and the other high caliber guys inside of the Iron Council.
00:03:06.200 And then we're going to have a fireside where we'll go over the four quadrants
00:03:09.180 that we cover inside of the Iron Council and of course,
00:03:11.800 hold each other accountable to some big plans that we have for the first quarter of the new year.
00:03:16.380 So that is the Iron Council evening.
00:03:18.120 That's actually on January 25th.
00:03:19.960 It's thrown in if you're a member of the Iron Council.
00:03:22.240 Now, the second thing I wanted to share is the venue.
00:03:24.700 Now, as far as the venue goes, we've got a very, very cool barn in Nashville.
00:03:27.560 It's going to host us and some other different locations
00:03:30.440 and some different things that we're going to be doing.
00:03:31.960 That way we can participate in some of the activities that we have planned.
00:03:34.760 And one thing we wanted to be sure of is that this isn't some hotel conference room
00:03:39.140 that you're just going to sit in and it's got the chairs lined up.
00:03:41.500 You guys know what I'm talking about.
00:03:42.480 You've been there.
00:03:42.940 I don't want that for this meetup.
00:03:44.940 I want it to be intimate.
00:03:46.160 I want it to be a cool venue and I want it to be somewhere
00:03:48.280 which actually is going to produce the results that we're after as men.
00:03:51.920 So again, we're trying to create something unique,
00:03:54.280 something memorable, something conducive to growth moving into the new year.
00:03:58.660 So a very cool venue again in Nashville.
00:04:00.840 It's a very cool barn.
00:04:01.980 Now, next guys is the book signing.
00:04:04.420 As many of you know, by now, I've got a new book.
00:04:07.360 It's called Sovereignty, the Battle for the Hearts and Minds of Men,
00:04:09.880 which is being released February 1st.
00:04:12.240 And as an attendee, you are going to get a signed copy of the book
00:04:16.840 before it's even available to the public.
00:04:18.540 And I'm also going to be interviewed there at the event about the message of the book.
00:04:22.460 And you'll have the opportunity to ask your own questions of me too,
00:04:25.140 as we do a little bit of a Q&A there.
00:04:27.140 I can't even begin to describe how excited I am about this book.
00:04:30.960 I know it's going to change lives and I want to get it in your hands
00:04:34.560 before I get it into anybody else's hands.
00:04:36.640 And by the way, we're also going to have extra copies.
00:04:38.900 So if you want to buy that book for a friend or your brother or father or colleague, whoever,
00:04:44.380 we're going to have that book there,
00:04:45.360 as well as other order men merchandise for you to purchase.
00:04:48.280 Now, the next component of this meetup is that we're going to be hosting
00:04:51.460 several different panels for you to participate in.
00:04:54.200 One of the topics is entrepreneurship.
00:04:56.440 And one of the topics is family and fatherhood.
00:04:58.980 So you'll be able to ask our experts.
00:05:00.820 We've got six to seven different experts,
00:05:02.980 your questions about those topics specifically,
00:05:05.920 and get a ton of different ideas,
00:05:07.620 a ton of different perspectives into your work as a family man and a businessman.
00:05:12.340 This is a very interactive experience.
00:05:15.200 Again, we don't want you sitting the sideline.
00:05:17.000 We want you engaged and we actually want you part of the meetup.
00:05:19.900 And this is a very cool way to do it through these panels that we've got planned.
00:05:22.980 Now, guys, I just want to take a quick break
00:05:25.000 because I could talk with you about this stuff till I'm blue in the face.
00:05:27.480 And it's easy for me to talk about how wonderful it's going to be.
00:05:30.680 But I wanted to share with you an experience from one of our last attendees at the Kansas City meetup.
00:05:35.160 His name is Justin Bailey.
00:05:36.620 And I just want you to take a quick minute and listen in to what he has to say about his experience at Kansas City's event.
00:05:41.940 Hey, what's up, guys?
00:05:45.080 My name is Justin Bailey, and I have to say that my experience at the Order of Man meetup in Kansas City was phenomenal.
00:05:51.420 I really had no idea what to expect going into this.
00:05:54.080 I've never been to anything like this before, but I've been following Ryan for about a year
00:05:57.740 and knew that whatever he was going to deliver was going to be a quality, top-notch event.
00:06:02.680 And this way exceeded my expectation.
00:06:05.640 The speakers delivered impactful content.
00:06:07.820 I walked out of there feeling like I had read about a dozen books, pages and pages of notes,
00:06:12.620 and was a better man when I left.
00:06:14.360 Really formed some good relationships.
00:06:16.300 I actually made a nine-hour drive to Kansas City and rode with a guy I'd never met before.
00:06:20.280 So we formed a fast friendship.
00:06:22.760 And the events kept us – there were manly events.
00:06:25.600 There was shooting.
00:06:26.200 There was brawling.
00:06:26.760 There was all that good stuff that you want to do to form a relationship with other men.
00:06:31.000 The final night was full of testimony and dinner.
00:06:33.540 It was phenomenal.
00:06:34.400 I'll tell you what, there was some seriously impactful men speaking of some serious change in their life.
00:06:40.740 I highly recommend any Order of Man event.
00:06:43.300 If you can make it to Nashville, get down there.
00:06:45.600 See you there.
00:06:48.340 There it is, guys.
00:06:49.160 As you can hear, Justin had an amazing experience.
00:06:51.440 And, of course, we've doubled down the efforts on this one.
00:06:54.060 We've made it a little bit longer.
00:06:55.180 We've changed some things.
00:06:56.020 We took some feedback, constructive, positive, and negative feedback, and made this thing even better.
00:07:00.560 And I think you're going to see that when you come to the event.
00:07:03.120 Again, January 26th and 27th.
00:07:04.860 Now, let me share with you four other factors about this event.
00:07:07.620 And then we'll wrap up for the day.
00:07:09.040 And then, of course, I'll give you the opportunity to register and tell you where you can do that.
00:07:11.960 The next thing is networking.
00:07:13.400 We're going to be having a networking slash breakout session.
00:07:16.580 This isn't about turning to your neighbors, to your left and your right, and introducing yourself.
00:07:20.360 We've done that.
00:07:20.940 It's cheesy.
00:07:21.400 It doesn't work. 1.00
00:07:21.940 It's stupid, in fact. 1.00
00:07:23.340 This is about focused networking. 1.00
00:07:25.500 Talking about focused networking with men in your area, men in your region.
00:07:29.540 One of the most challenging things for me and other men is finding their, quote, unquote, band of brothers.
00:07:35.160 We've done a few episodes.
00:07:36.640 One was Steven Mansfield on building your band of brothers.
00:07:39.360 And this networking opportunity is a perfect chance for you to meet with other men who are committed to being better men.
00:07:46.380 And, of course, they're going to be in your area.
00:07:48.100 So we want you to connect outside of this event.
00:07:50.480 This isn't a one-time thing where you come, you experience what you experience, you leave, and then you just get back into the swing of things.
00:07:56.080 We want this to be a long-lasting opportunity.
00:07:58.800 And the best way to do that is to get you connected with men in your region and in your area so you can do your own thing.
00:08:04.240 You can continue with them as a band of brothers.
00:08:06.660 Next, breakout sessions.
00:08:08.100 This is an opportunity for you to go to several different sessions from eight other men on the topics of mental and emotional resiliency, financial sovereignty, transforming a marriage, the power of gratitude, living with intentionality, how it's never too late to start something, and a self-defense slash jiu-jitsu class.
00:08:26.300 There are so many topics that you can choose from.
00:08:28.420 So you're going to be able to find something that you are looking for inside one of those breakout sessions.
00:08:32.620 Now, the next component, this is probably one of my favorite components.
00:08:36.040 These are the challenges.
00:08:37.020 No order of man event would be complete without challenging you to do and be more in your life.
00:08:42.560 So each morning, we're going to start off with physical exercise and then scattered throughout the day, there's going to be a series of challenges that are going to test you.
00:08:48.820 They're going to test you physically and mentally and emotionally on the subjects of leadership and resilience, ingenuity, teamwork.
00:08:58.300 We've got a couple other surprises and tricks up our sleeve.
00:09:00.540 Again, guys, this isn't a passive experience.
00:09:02.680 It's an active one.
00:09:03.520 You're going to have to go back into your life, and that's about getting into the game.
00:09:07.240 There's no amount of talk or presentations that can prepare you for what you'll have to face in life.
00:09:12.540 You have to do, and these challenges will help you step into that.
00:09:16.440 And the last component I wanted to share with you is the firesides that we're going to be hosting.
00:09:19.800 Men seem to do better when they're sitting side by side, shoulder by shoulder, united in a common purpose.
00:09:25.660 And that's the reason that we do these firesides.
00:09:27.500 It's an opportunity to have focused discussions about some of our biggest challenges and the solutions that we've all found through years of struggle and effort.
00:09:35.960 We're going to team up so that we can speed that process of learning and growing and developing faster.
00:09:41.160 So there it is, guys, just a sampling of what we're going to be doing at the meetup in Nashville.
00:09:45.340 Again, it's the exclusive Iron Council evening.
00:09:48.100 That's January 25th.
00:09:49.760 The amazing venue that we have, book signing panels, networking, breakout sessions, challenges, and then, of course, the firesides I just mentioned.
00:09:57.100 But at the end of the day, it's about proximity.
00:09:59.760 Proximity to other men who are wanting to do big things in their lives.
00:10:03.620 I know you do too, and that's why it's important that we band together and we come together and we do things like this.
00:10:08.260 I hope to see you there.
00:10:09.220 I hope to shake your hand.
00:10:10.180 I hope to have a discussion with you about what it means to be a man and how to be a better one.
00:10:13.940 So if you're ready to get registered, you can do that at orderaman.com slash Nashville.
00:10:19.040 Again, that's orderaman.com slash Nashville.
00:10:21.380 The dates are January 26th and 27th.
00:10:24.200 And also the 25th if you do that extra Iron Council evening.
00:10:28.180 And this is in 2018.
00:10:29.860 So just in the next, what, three weeks or so.
00:10:32.040 Guys, until next week and until I see you at Nashville later this month, take action and become the man you are meant to be.
00:10:37.980 Thank you for listening to the Order of Man podcast.
00:10:41.480 If you're ready to take charge of your life and be more of the man you were meant to be, we invite you to join the order at orderofman.com.
