Pearl - Charlie Kirk's Death Was An Unimaginable Tragedy But People May Be Trying To Exploit It

00:00:00.000 and there's just a part of me that i just get this sick feeling in my stomach

00:00:04.000 like this is a little bit off and wrong and the reason i'm going to preface this

00:00:09.680 when i do today's show is because i do think i'm going to get some sort of backlash and

00:00:14.240 heat for the topic i picked today uh because i think it does seem a little bit insensitive with

00:00:20.400 what's maybe going on um but i do think this is something that's going through a lot of people's

00:00:29.040 minds and i really just wanted to bring together a platform where we can have a conversation about it

00:00:36.160 so if you're not willing to listen i guess to a conversation that may be a little bit offensive

00:00:42.540 i would just tune out now it might be you know towing the lines on what's acceptable and what's

00:00:48.300 unacceptable you know this is my four this is my trigger warning not to say this definitely isn't

00:00:55.840 the most controversial show i've done um but i do want to explore i guess a certain concept and idea

00:01:03.100 and a conversation that i've seen circulating on x so as you guys know charlie kirk passed away last

00:01:10.920 week um this was a conservative christian i would say moderate and this is a guy and i think it was

00:01:16.480 especially scary for um youtubers and really america because charlie kirk really is not the most

00:01:24.640 controversial i mean i said far worse things than charlie kirk said in his career and again i've said

00:01:30.620 this on previous shows but i think a lot of americans saw like when i hear charlie kirk talk i think of the

00:01:37.180 men i grew up around i really do i mean a lot of them had the conservative christian values a lot of them

00:01:41.920 believed a lot of the things he believed he's kind of a normal looking white guy you know i grew up

00:01:47.480 around normal looking white guys so you know to see him go i think that's why it's had such like a

00:01:54.520 profound impact is because a lot of especially conservative christian america you identified

00:02:02.320 with charlie kirk maybe not you didn't see him you in him but you knew somebody that

00:02:08.720 that reminded you of him like he he reminds me a little bit of one of my cousins they kind of have

00:02:15.220 the same vibe you know the dorky the dorky hard-working super positive guy um

00:02:22.040 so since he is passing i think americans have gone through a lot of emotions not just americans but

00:02:31.540 i think youtubers have gone through a lot of emotions and it's been i think his friends his family

00:02:38.140 has gone through a lot of emotions and i think a lot of these a lot of these people i mean they're

00:02:44.520 hurt they're sad they're devastated they're scared you know they they don't feel safe um but i couldn't

00:02:53.380 help when i saw charlie kirk's wife um erica kirk and again i will say i say this with no hatred in my

00:03:03.960 heart i say this really more as an observation not a judgment because i personally if i was in her

00:03:11.200 shoes i can't imagine how i would react but i have just gotten such a weird and i hate to say this

00:03:19.100 because it sounds like i'm five years old but an icky feeling from the way that turning point and

00:03:26.540 conservatives in general have it see it appears to me as a normal person used the death to raise money

00:03:38.220 build their brand and for clout and i can't help but think that it seems a little bit disrespectful

00:03:45.360 now i'd like to say this is not me judging them this is not me saying oh i'm holier than thou i'm better

00:03:53.140 than you i do not know if i knew him personally how i would react i don't know if i knew him

00:04:03.120 personally if i'd be angry i don't know if i'd crash out i i don't know i can't say i i met him once at an

00:04:09.340 event like years ago um and i i would say i took issues with some of his stances so i'm not going to

00:04:17.700 come at this from a place of saying i knew him super well i know how i would do it but

00:04:23.220 this made me think of the concept in general is there a right and a wrong way to more now i want

00:04:33.800 to talk about a situation that i personally was in that's not that doesn't necessarily have anything

00:04:39.180 to do with this topic so uh my grandpa died a few years ago so it was about i don't know maybe

00:04:48.220 it feels like forever between five and ten years ago i'll say and i remember on his deathbed like he

00:04:55.260 my grandpa he basically died of old age right um and i really wasn't that close with him but when he

00:05:01.040 was dying i went to go see him and it was just a weird i guess feeling when i went there and i remember

00:05:10.200 some relatives of mine were wanting me to take a picture with him and a lot of people were taking

00:05:15.740 pictures and i don't know i you know i just went with it because again death is such a sensitive topic

00:05:22.660 you never i mean i thought about this show for like two days i gotta be honest and i i think i just

00:05:30.220 have this thing inside of me where i just i have to be the one to say it and i think it's something

00:05:37.320 at times i wish i could change i wish was different but it's just how i am it's kind of how i've always

00:05:44.240 been i'm just that girl that just says things you know um and at the time at the time you know

00:05:50.960 i just i remember smiling for this picture and going along with it and just feeling like weird

00:05:56.900 and thinking is this disrespectful to my grandpa who's literally dying that we're just like taking

00:06:04.060 a picture and and to be honest i felt this in a number of scenarios not just this situation in

00:06:10.320 itself so another example is i think it's um i cannot think of the celebrity's name off the top

00:06:17.980 of my head but there's a celebrity um and i know that he was a really successful guy and at one point

00:06:27.820 i i know he was like the jackie chan of something i i don't know what i i know this is as a commentator

00:06:34.460 i should have this name off the top of my head but sometimes you know i take else but this guy i i know

00:06:40.360 his family is making a a hulu series or some sort of series about this guy's cognitive decline because

00:06:50.520 he's no longer the great guy he used to be i'm sure someone in the chat will know who i'm talking

00:06:55.660 about because this was pretty recent and there was still just a part of me that you know one part of

00:07:02.340 you thinks to the women it's generally women that tend to i don't want to say use death for clout

00:07:08.760 but if i had to use a word to describe it that's really what i you know what i would have to use

00:07:16.400 to say right and there's just a part of me that i just get this sick feeling in my stomach like this

00:07:24.040 is a little bit off and wrong but again you don't want to be that's why i had to give this i guess this

00:07:32.980 forewarning that this is a i i think i feel like i'm having a controversial thought that's how i feel

00:07:41.180 talking about this like but i just have to i can't it's just in me i have this fire i have this like

00:07:46.580 thing in my stomach i just can't so

00:07:49.220 there's just a part of you that thinks oof i don't know if this is respectful

00:07:59.100 now charlie kirk is a little bit different to be fair i mean charlie kirk on the other hand he had

00:08:06.520 a mission so he had a mission to spread conservative values to the youth he had a mission

00:08:12.480 he had a mission to raise a bunch of money for conservative causes so i guess it's not exactly

00:08:22.740 surprising that even his death they're doing that but still there's a part of me that i just get

00:08:29.040 this this icky feeling now i tweeted this the other day

00:08:34.820 and i'm going to show you the the video that really i guess inspired this tweet

00:08:41.520 um i said i have no hatred in my heart when i say this but watching erica kirk post charlie

00:08:48.680 kirk's dead body on social media as well as the marketing campaign after just gives me a weird feeling

00:08:55.060 now i want to go through some of the responses people have because i do think these are fair

00:09:01.520 responses and i don't i don't necessarily have a feeling one way or the other i don't think this

00:09:07.560 is a right or a wrong conversation but it is a conversation i'm really just interested in getting

00:09:13.440 the public's opinion on and seeing what people have to say we're going to do a call in later this show

00:09:18.240 because i just have to you know ask the question now i'd like to say i am not accusing erica kirk of

00:09:31.160 of of doing this when i say this but i'm going to say women in general our strategy generally is to 1.00

00:09:38.740 get as much attention as possible because that brings in male suitors either directly or indirectly 0.54

00:09:44.040 you know that's why i i give a lot of pushback when women use their relationship to build their 1.00

00:09:48.700 brand because you're bringing attention to the relationship becomes marketing for the next

00:09:52.400 relationship i am not accusing her i do not think that that is what she is doing from what i have seen

00:09:58.860 however it's still again it just gives me a weird feeling so i want to give some of the you know we

00:10:06.600 had luffy in the chat um saying hypergamy doesn't care we had reclaim your throne saying exact exactly why is 0.99

00:10:13.660 it controversial to say this so there are some people that do agree with me and i do feel and

00:10:18.900 hear that sentiment on x you know people are kind of saying is this a respectful thing to do is this a

00:10:25.040 bad way to honor the dead and i don't have your comments on guys because i have to give these thoughts

00:10:31.380 without i'm going to read your if you're in the chat giving supers or whatever i will read it but i just

00:10:36.720 knew if i gave this monologue and you guys started crashing out it would it would make me feel like a bad

00:10:42.600 person so i'm just gonna have to go through it and then uh and then i'll i'll get your feedback

00:10:47.860 now um i think i'm wondering if this is my cousin i think this might be my cousin but i'm not sure

00:10:55.520 bacon i think that's my cousin he said um people are motivated like never before in two months no

00:11:01.340 one will care or will donate if you want charlie's legacy to be funded for decades you do it now three

00:11:07.220 months from now maybe you got a year does it suck yes does it feel icky sure but it's human nature sales

00:11:12.160 101 i don't know i just i want to make a joke about a certain group of people it feels a bit

00:11:18.400 but i can't say it but the groipers will get it the groipers will get it so

00:11:24.600 okay so as i tell my students and some people are saying pearl what are you 12 you know sometimes i act

00:11:34.940 like it i i hate to keep saying i'm a woman but you know what i mean it's kind of like when the men

00:11:40.320 stare at the boobs and people are like why are you staring at the boobs and and then you're like

00:11:45.020 well he's a man that's kind of how i feel when you know we say that female nature applies to me too

00:11:52.800 obviously duh sorry um all right who doesn't have the language for internal chaos come on describe what

00:12:01.740 you are feeling or if you have thoughts precisely state them okay i think that's fair i think deep down

00:12:10.700 in my psyche i feel as though this is disrespectful to make money clout farm off of the dead maybe it's

00:12:19.460 hypocritical me saying this as i make this a show topic but i feel guilty saying that because it's such

00:12:27.600 a sad situation maybe that's the best way i could put it um if you think she's in control of the 1.00

00:12:34.660 marketing campaign i don't know if she's in control probably not right um that man lived in the public

00:12:41.560 eye uh better that they control the outflow of photos and then it's a better narrative than letting

00:12:46.920 tmz run with it okay that's a good point

00:12:52.240 then i get the same you can't be more jealous of her that's usually what i get from the women 1.00

00:12:59.360 it's always valid concern valid point you're jealous

00:13:03.240 i'm not even i mean

00:13:07.200 that i i don't even want to this situation is sad i don't think it's really a you know

00:13:16.000 um people don't understand how some female presidents from different countries used to 1.00

00:13:24.000 rise to power after their husband dies um this is the same scenario matthew says i totally agree

00:13:30.280 but i doubt she's the one running her own socials right now okay um then someone else said we need a

00:13:38.040 movement to change things in particular worrying about who's benefiting won't help the situation

00:13:43.420 everyone needs a rally for thee oftentimes um

00:13:47.460 you are clairvoyant and extremely helpful in doing what you do please don't turn into ann coulter

00:13:55.400 oh i liked ann coulter but

00:13:58.540 so i mean that's really the sentiment the few the sentiments i've gotten is some people think

00:14:05.440 it's justified because he had a movement i think that's a fair argument

00:14:08.840 some people think um it is too far i don't know i just i saw this are we able to share my screen

00:14:18.840 yeah okay so it says this is just sad this is the video that kind of gave me

00:14:24.220 oh i love you i love you i love you i know i love you i love you

00:14:34.260 yeah i can hear it yeah

00:14:37.640 god bless you

00:14:41.940 and look at on its surface that's a heartbreaking video

00:14:51.080 but i guess there's just part of me that

00:14:55.900 i just get this weird feeling when i see this stuff

00:15:02.100 it just it seems a little bit performative and almost

00:15:07.380 here it says erica kirk i refuse to let the movement charlie built die it will only grow

00:15:13.860 stronger bolder louder join me stop to end it

00:15:17.740 the cries of a widow will echo around the world like a battle cry

00:15:22.600 um the evildoers who took charlie's cut life they have no idea what they have done if they thought

00:15:28.780 my husband's mission was powerful before they have no idea what they have just unleashed

00:15:33.740 not across the country but in me charlie will always say never surrender

00:15:37.820 this is a sad situation and we're asking for donations

00:15:47.660 i feel guilty that i'm having this thought because of how sad the situation is

00:15:58.500 but

00:16:00.580 is it okay is this right

00:16:05.860 and you know the women when i when i said and by the way i i'm really not passing a judgment um

00:16:13.780 who's to say how you know the right way to react but you know i've seen the same situation in my

00:16:22.700 personal life and people i know

00:16:24.780 where it does women tend to make it a social media campaign 1.00

00:16:31.180 so while i'm going to use this as an example today

00:16:35.180 this is not the only example that i can think of and the women they're mad at me they say sit this one 1.00

00:16:40.860 out uh reclaim says this is worse than posting a gofundme

00:16:45.340 uh luffy says she will take a lover to your funeral leonarda and i'm gonna send her the link we'll see if she calls in 0.90

00:16:51.980 she says you're not wrong

00:16:53.660 um i guess this is how house of cards ended i've never seen house of cards so i don't know

00:17:00.860 lee or she's called into the show says it's too soon didn't didn't he have a protege or an apprentice

00:17:07.580 he was training for a reality such as this the reality oh is she liked him because he was famous

00:17:13.740 and he liked her because she was a hot blonde there's no surprise here i didn't say that i'm
