00:00:00.000 So you think in Rome, they invented that he was God?
00:00:05.680 So in the beginning, what happened is that Christianity was a persecuted
00:00:08.160 religion in Rome, right?
00:00:09.360 So the Roman Empire is where Christianity was.
00:00:12.560 And in the beginning, they were persecuted minority.
00:00:14.720 They were being persecuted by all kinds of people, right?
00:00:17.760 Up until the third or the fourth century, you had this guy called Constantine.
00:00:22.320 Okay.
00:00:22.600 He was the emperor at the time.
00:00:24.360 He had a dream.
00:00:25.360 Okay.
00:00:25.680 He had a dream of the cross and all that kind of thing.
00:00:27.320 And he became a Christian.
00:00:28.560 Okay.
00:00:29.240 even though Christianity had been a minority religion
00:00:32.240 and they were a persecuted minority for a very long time.
00:00:36.680 When he became a Christian in 313,
00:00:40.880 there was something called the Edict of Milan and in 325,
00:00:42.880 there's something called the Nicene Creed.
00:00:44.580 They started to formulate what is the belief of the Christians.
00:00:48.100 325, they said it was, you know, you have the Father,
00:00:50.400 the Son and the Holy Spirit, this idea of the Father, the Son,
00:00:52.400 the Holy Spirit came out.
00:00:53.300 Oh, and then you guys, you guys had the same text
00:00:56.440 and it didn't change, right?
00:00:57.940 we believe i think i've heard snico say that right yeah so the quran look so to finish the 0.99
00:01:04.180 story on this right we believe that christianity had been interpolated had been people
00:01:27.940 What happened is Islam is a continuation from Christianity, from Jesus Christ. 1.00
00:01:57.940 we believe Muhammad who is the we believe the final prophet he was sent in Arabia and he went 0.97
00:02:05.640 when he was 40 to the cave and the angel had an interaction with him and he had revealed the Quran
00:02:11.320 to him the Quran we believe is the verbatim speech of God and in that verbatim speech of God you know
00:02:17.660 there are prohibitions there are allowances what to do what not to do etc etc etc we also believe
00:02:24.720 that this text and there's good evidence to show that it's been
00:02:27.280 preserved for the whole time. Nothing has been changed of it.
00:02:30.120 Unlike the Bible.
00:02:31.920 And if I asked, if I asked the Christians, would they agree with 1.00
00:02:35.680 that, that the Quran hasn't been changed? Or would they say,
00:02:39.240 because often what I find is both groups say the other is lying.
00:02:43.240 Very much.
00:02:44.000 Well, it depends on what Christian you ask. If you, if you ask a 0.80
00:02:45.960 fair minded Christian, who's a scholar and academic, they may say,
00:02:49.200 yes, we agree with the Muslim notion that the Quran has not 0.99
00:02:52.400 been changed. But if you ask a polemic or an apologist for Christianity, he'll say,
00:02:57.120 no, the Quran has been changed just like the Bible. But they wouldn't deny that the 1.00
00:02:59.980 Bible has been changed. So there are, for example, great scholars of Christianity
00:03:03.400 like Bruce Metzger, who's come out and wrote a book about how the Bible has been
00:03:07.080 changed. So that's one thing. The other thing is, so we've got the idea of God.
00:03:12.260 And you've got to ask yourself an honest question, which one makes more sense?
00:03:16.220 Let me ask you, in fact, which one makes more sense? The idea of three persons,
00:03:19.340 co-equal co-eternal or the idea of one God if we're being honest about this one
00:03:25.900 God or three persons well I guess the way they taught it to me was that it's
00:03:31.100 like it they're gonna roast me cuz I know I'm not gonna explain it right but
00:03:37.460 but it's like it's like three in one so yeah sure it's still one God but it's
00:03:42.320 just like there's it's like three in one yeah I know but you've got the father
00:03:46.400 You've got the Son and you've got the Holy Spirit.
00:03:48.400 The Father is God.
00:03:49.400 The Son is God.
00:03:50.400 The Holy Spirit is God.
00:03:51.400 But how many gods are there?
00:03:52.400 One.
00:03:53.400 I would say one.
00:03:54.400 But does that make sense to you?
00:03:56.400 Kinda.
00:03:57.400 Kinda.
00:03:58.400 So if I had a fourth and said no, and also the disciples, for example, when do I stop?
00:04:03.400 I could see how it would be confusing.
00:04:05.400 Very confusing.
00:04:06.400 You see what I mean?
00:04:07.400 So when you, for example, if you're, if you're very sad, if you're, if you're in a traumatic
00:04:11.400 situation or if you're desperate, who would you call out to?
00:04:16.400 God.
00:04:17.400 Which one?
00:04:18.400 I mean, you call out to the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit or all three at the same time?
00:04:22.400 I would just say God.
00:04:23.400 Exactly.
00:04:24.400 Yeah.
00:04:25.400 And that's what we would say.
00:04:26.400 There are verses in the Quran that say that when the people are in the sea and they're
00:04:30.400 about to be capsized and so on, they will call out to God in earnestness and sincerity.
00:04:36.400 But when they come back to the shore, then you'll see them ascribing partners with God.
00:04:43.400 See, God doesn't want you to ascribe partners with him.
00:04:45.960 It's in the first 10 commandments, right?
00:04:47.960 God wants you to just worship him alone.
00:04:50.600 You see, that's what Jews have said all over the time.
00:04:52.920 That's what, you know, in the first 10 commandments, you'll find in the Old
00:04:56.160 Testament, et cetera.
00:04:57.760 So that's the first thing I'll leave it with you.
00:04:59.480 I mean, this seems to be the first question, because that's one of the major
00:05:02.480 differences between Islam and Christianity, the idea of God.
00:05:05.320 That is one of the major.
00:05:06.440 The second major difference is the prophethood of Prophet Muhammad.
00:05:09.440 So is he a true prophet or not?
00:05:11.520 That's the question, because if he's a true prophet,
00:05:13.160 then clearly what he's saying comes from God.
00:05:17.280 If he's not a true prophet, then it's not.
00:05:19.000 Then it's just a man-made text, a man from the 7th century, etc.
00:05:22.600 But if we owe it to ourselves to explore the issue.
00:05:26.500 So for example, we would find that the Prophet Muhammad had a pure track record.
00:05:31.380 No one considered him to be a liar.
00:05:33.720 No one considered him in his community to be a liar at all.
00:05:36.980 They all knew him very well.
00:05:38.660 He came when he was 40 years old after living a full life amongst them
00:05:41.720 and told them that he was a prophet.
00:05:44.960 And he didn't just say that frivolously.
00:05:47.320 He provided evidences.
00:05:49.820 So the kind of evidences that we have as Muslims, for example,
00:05:54.060 is, number one, the preservation, yes,
00:05:55.900 the fact that the Quran does not have any contradictions in it.
00:05:58.200 That's an important thing.
00:06:00.100 The theology, of course, of Islam, 1.00
00:06:01.800 but also there are a range of other things.
00:06:04.200 For example, the predictions of Islam. 0.99
00:06:06.740 So Islam makes a series of predictions about the future, 1.00
00:06:09.760 about how life will be in the future.
00:06:10.820 Let me give you ones that are pertinent to your work.
00:06:14.660 There are predictions in Islam that say that women are going to join the workforce with men.
00:06:20.940 Oh, no way.
00:06:21.520 Yeah.
00:06:22.000 In the future, there's a woman will join the workforce with men. 1.00
00:06:26.480 This is one prediction.
00:06:27.820 Another thing you've spoken about, which is mentioned in the prediction of that prophet,
00:06:31.020 is that there will come a time where people will engage in promiscuity,
00:06:36.400 sexual intercourse outside of the marital structure,
00:06:38.400 to such an extent where sexually transmitted,
00:06:41.220 there'll be an advent of sexually transmitted diseases.
00:06:45.360 So sexually STDs will come about as a result of this degenerative behavior 0.97
00:06:51.280 that people in the future are going to do.
00:06:53.400 So I guess my question, because, you know, I'm a believer of people are people.
00:07:00.620 And so it would be, I would be very shocked if at no point in history,
00:07:06.080 there was like like didn't king david have like 300 wives or something in the bible yeah yeah like
00:07:11.280 people were like to me that's not a god like i mean it might be true i'm not trying to be like
00:07:18.240 disrespectful but it's like i wouldn't put that as a god-like prediction sure one or two of them
00:07:26.720 wouldn't be but if i had 50 of the same kind of precision and sophistication what's the best one
00:07:32.000 give me like that i'll give you three or four good ones okay so for example in the quran is mentioned
00:07:36.960 in chapter 30 verses one to four that the romans had been defeated and remember we said that the
00:07:41.760 roman empire and the persian empire they had been kind of going at it yeah there were two major
00:07:46.560 empires even at the time of the prophet and that in three to nine years that they will win and they
00:07:52.880 will and they will win in a nearby low land okay now this prediction has been has materialized now
00:08:01.120 you're a volleyball player for example yeah if i said i don't know whatever team you play for right
00:08:06.640 i say look hurley's team is going to win and they're going to win five nil and they're going
00:08:12.240 to win at this time in this place yeah i mean that's a pretty good prediction i'm getting this
00:08:16.000 from god if it if the opposite happens or if you don't win if there's a draw or if this whatever it
00:08:21.520 is um then it completely discredits what i'm saying so would the christians come in so if i
00:08:29.120 said, hey, Christians, there's 50 things that Prophet Muhammad said, am I allowed to say his 0.99
00:08:37.040 name? I don't know. I don't know. I know there's some like. Yeah, we believe that's in the Quran
00:08:41.360 though. So we believe the Quran, remember, is from God. Okay. Let's mention the Quran and the
00:08:45.040 Hadith. Okay. Yeah. Well, so if I said that to the Christians, would they say, yes, you're right. 0.99
00:08:50.160 All the predictions were correct. They couldn't deny this one. And I have actually presented this
00:08:55.200 to uh oh really so even the christians would agree with you they'd have to okay on this issue i don't
00:09:01.120 think there's any controversy whatsoever because it just happened and there is there's corroborating
00:09:06.160 evidence outside of the quran and sunnah there's roman primary source historical information about
00:09:11.120 this okay do you know what i mean so that's one thing there's a there's a book that was written
00:09:15.280 by a friend of mine called the forbidden prophecies by abu zakariya his name is abu zakariya and he
00:09:20.000 lists a lot of these predictions a lot of them a lot of them is where islam will spread what 0.91
00:09:24.320 countries it will spread to like Egypt like for example Yemen and Jordan and present-day Palestine
00:09:31.600 etc like a lot of the countries that we know that Islam has spread to a lot of them have to do with
00:09:36.720 the economy economy for example one of them is that that interests will overwhelm the economic
00:09:43.520 system so that you will not be able to get away from it whatsoever and a lot of it is to do with
00:09:49.360 the infrastructure. For example, one of the famous one is that the barefooted Arab, 1.00
00:09:55.520 the barefooted Arabs will compete to raise tall buildings. We know now the tallest building in 1.00
00:10:01.120 the world is in Dubai, in Burj Khalifa, right? The third most tall building in the world is Mecca,
00:10:07.520 it's the clock tower. You know, so they're competing with each other now to exactly that.
00:10:12.400 Someone could say it was a self fulfilling prophecy. But it couldn't be a self fulfilling
00:10:15.520 prophecy if the economic situation wasn't there if they didn't have money to do that
00:10:21.520 you needed to have a certain amount of gdp to do that
