00:00:00.000 One day, this might be part of America, so get a good look.
00:00:04.960 So Kim and I flew all the way in from Detroit to do a dispatch from Alberta, a candidate for our 51st state.
00:00:17.080 American YouTuber Nick Johnson recently visited Alberta to dive into the independence movement
00:00:22.700 and how some here want to become America's 51st state.
00:00:26.560 I commented on one of his earlier videos where he interviewed folks pushing for Alberta to join the U.S.
00:00:33.240 What really stands out to me in this whole thing is the overwhelming support from Americans.
00:00:39.440 It's honestly heartwarming.
00:00:41.460 While Eastern Canadians often react with mockery and insults, Americans have shown genuine encouragement.
00:00:48.860 Some even saying they'd welcome Alberta with open arms.
00:00:52.000 But what's even more touching is that many just want to see us succeed.
00:00:55.740 Whether that means independence or statehood.
00:00:59.260 As an Albertan, that means a whole lot to me and I can't thank you enough.
00:01:03.200 Especially when our own media tries to bury this movement.
00:01:06.840 If you want to help keep this message alive, please do me a solid and subscribe to the channel.
00:01:11.880 It's free and you can always unsubscribe later if you change your mind.
00:01:15.720 Thank you and back to the video.
00:01:17.120 In the previous video, I talked about how these people down there, they're fed up with the liberals.
00:01:22.800 They're ruining Canada, they say.
00:01:25.000 They hate them.
00:01:26.340 They hate them so much.
00:01:27.680 Albertans have said, you know what?
00:01:29.480 Maybe we should break away from Canada.
00:01:32.220 Maybe, some here say, we should be part of the USA.
00:01:36.640 Uh-oh.
00:01:37.300 So, the first thing I thought when I heard that a part of Canada wants to join us is, do we even want them?
00:01:44.580 Who are they anyway?
00:01:46.360 So, Kim and I flew all the way in from Detroit to do a dispatch from Alberta.
00:01:50.780 A candidate for our 51st state.
00:01:54.240 Kind of.
00:01:54.640 Those are mountains back there.
00:01:56.820 Look at the beautiful mountains.
00:01:58.160 Snow-capped mountains and beautiful prairie.
00:02:02.420 It's so peaceful out here with the birds chirping.
00:02:05.780 Hey everybody, Nick here.
00:02:07.120 Mount in the middle of nowhere in Alberta.
00:02:09.780 Calgary's about 30 or 40 minutes that way.
00:02:12.580 It's a wonderful city, but as soon as you get outside of Calgary, it all looks like this.
00:02:18.180 Beautiful countryside, rolling hills, farms, tough, macho stuff.
00:02:23.040 Seems like it'd fit into the U.S. out here, doesn't it?
00:02:27.840 That's the question, though.
00:02:29.320 Would Alberta make for an extension of the country?
00:02:31.860 Would Alberta be a good 51st state?
00:02:33.800 Well, looking around here, I say, yes.
00:02:36.160 Look, I've said it a thousand times.
00:02:38.480 Alberta's not Canadian in the way Ottawa wishes it was.
00:02:41.960 We've got more in common with Montana and Idaho than we'll ever have with Ontario, Quebec, or the Maritimes.
00:02:48.080 Alberta has a strong Western heritage.
00:02:50.060 Oil rigs, cattle, callous hands, and freedom.
00:02:54.600 That's who we are.
00:02:56.260 And no matter how hard the federal government pushes mass immigration from places that don't share our values and will not assimilate, Alberta holds the line.
00:03:06.400 This is Western culture.
00:03:08.120 Always has been.
00:03:08.940 It's like Trump said the other day about erasing the border between Canada and the U.S.
00:03:13.880 But I'll say more specifically for Alberta.
00:03:17.480 If you remove the borderline between Montana and Alberta tomorrow, most folks wouldn't even notice.
00:03:23.300 It's the same land, same grit, same culture, same God-given common sense.
00:03:29.580 Compare that to Eastern Canada.
00:03:31.700 It's a joke.
00:03:32.420 It's like comparing beef jerky with vegan tofu.
00:03:36.180 Down below you can see a lot of Alberta's rural.
00:03:39.380 Farming, oil, gas stuff, big trucks, dirty tough men with mustaches.
00:03:46.040 You see a lot of that here.
00:03:48.460 Canadians say this is their cowboy country.
00:03:51.660 Their redneck land.
00:03:53.060 This part of Alberta is what makes Alberta the most like the U.S.A.
00:03:59.080 They've kept their Western identity strong.
00:04:01.600 So we met with my buddy Alan.
00:04:03.040 He runs an outfit called Gurlitz Rodeo Ranch.
00:04:06.200 And it's my kind of place.
00:04:08.360 This will give you an idea on what your future neighbors might be like if Alberta ever becomes a state.
00:04:13.700 And this part of Alberta is far different than Calgary and far different than a lot of Canada.
00:04:21.660 Like the Western side.
00:04:24.180 Can you talk to me about how different this is out here than the rest of the country?
00:04:29.060 Well, between the Western and Eastern Canada, there's a big difference.
00:04:33.720 You know, they don't really understand the Western lifestyle compared to the East.
00:04:39.640 You know, here there's a lot less people.
00:04:41.680 And, you know, we've had to probably dig in a little bit, you know, in the older days to make a living.
00:04:48.880 And in the East, it kind of come to them a little more naturally.
00:04:51.660 And, you know, now with the way the oil is and, you know, we can't even trade.
00:04:57.760 Like from Alberta going across Canada, we can't even trade between provinces.
00:05:02.400 And it's kind of the craziest thing.
00:05:04.440 Like, you know, Eastern, like Montreal and Quebec, they import their oil from different countries.
00:05:11.880 And we have all the oil here in Alberta.
00:05:13.660 Look, I get it.
00:05:15.520 Every country's got regional differences, and that's fair enough.
00:05:19.300 But only in Canada do the productive parts get punished for being successful.
00:05:24.700 Alberta is forced, by law, to bankroll freeloading provinces that bash the very industry funding their existence.
00:05:32.460 In the U.S., no one's forcing Texas to prop up California, for example.
00:05:38.560 But here, Alberta's stock's sending billions to Quebec and the Maritimes while they reject our pipelines and buy oil from Saudi Arabia instead.
00:05:47.800 And then you have the so-called conservative leaders, a bunch of spineless politicians.
00:05:55.460 Take Pierre Polyev, for example.
00:05:58.260 This guy was supposed to win the last election and blew it.
00:06:01.500 Why?
00:06:02.240 Because he tried playing liberal light.
00:06:05.260 Didn't talk about stopping mass immigration, nor did he mention deportations.
00:06:09.560 When asked about reforming equalization payments so Alberta doesn't have to keep subsidizing Quebec, he said he wouldn't touch it.
00:06:17.880 You don't win an election by pandering to people who will never support you.
00:06:22.640 And you sure as hell do not represent Alberta.
00:06:25.500 Crowfoot.
00:06:26.140 It's a great place to be, back on the prairies.
00:06:28.560 Indeed.
00:06:29.140 Well, listen, it does appear that we are heading towards a referendum on Alberta separation.
00:06:34.380 When you are speaking to folks on the ground, in the riding that you hope to win, are you telling them that they should remain part of Canada regardless of who is governing?
00:06:44.980 I know you want to make the case for a conservative government, but that referendum is likely to come sooner rather than later.
00:06:50.380 Would you say to them they should stay even with Mark Carney in power?
00:06:56.500 They should stay in Canada.
00:06:57.960 Yes.
00:06:58.340 And are you actively advocating for it?
00:07:01.240 If you're asking me, absolutely.
00:07:03.460 I'm advocating for a united Canada.
00:07:05.280 And I say that on the doorstep.
00:07:07.120 I say it when I'm in town halls.
00:07:09.540 I say it every time it comes up.
00:07:11.280 I said it at the Calgary Stampede.
00:07:12.740 So there's no, I'm not being wishy-washy about this.
00:07:15.180 I'm a Canadian.
00:07:15.840 I'm a Canadian patriot.
00:07:17.000 I'm proud that I grew up in southern Alberta, you know, in Calgary.
00:07:21.600 And I'm a very proud, born and bred Albertan.
00:07:25.760 Canada is my country.
00:07:27.020 Canada is the country that the people in Battle River Crowfoot call home.
00:07:31.440 If you look around this community, the communities here, you will see the Canadian flag everywhere.
00:07:36.460 It's on front lawns.
00:07:37.740 It's on doorsteps.
00:07:39.240 It's on people.
00:07:40.080 People have Canadian flags on their pickup trucks.
00:07:42.280 This is a very patriotic place.
00:07:45.200 And I have with no hesitation whatsoever saying that Alberta should be part of Canada.
00:07:50.220 And I should also say, though, the days of telling Alberta to pay up and shut up, to just send more and more money to Ottawa while the government, while the Liberal government there blocks pipelines, destroys the energy sector, disrespects farmers, harms the economy.
00:08:04.440 Those days, those days are over.
00:08:06.500 We need to respect what Alberta is contributing.
00:08:08.860 We need pipelines built.
00:08:10.560 We need to repeal C-69, the anti-pipeline law, get rid of the tanker ban, the energy cap, the industrial carbon tax.
00:08:17.800 Man, those Liberal reporters can't even try hiding their contempt for Alberta, can they?
00:08:22.620 I mean, look at her.
00:08:24.140 They always seem to look pissed every time they have to pay attention to things relating to this province.
00:08:30.020 So this guy said that rural Albertans don't support independence.
00:08:33.740 Seriously, the same rural Albertans who voted Daniel Smith into power, over 60% of whom went out of Canada?
00:08:41.680 He either doesn't know this province or he's hoping we're too dumb to notice.
00:08:46.580 Maybe he thinks a Maple Leaf flag on a fence post means loyalty to Ottawa or the federal government.
00:08:52.860 News flash, most of those flags went up during the trucker convoy to show solidarity with the truckers and as a middle finger to the federal government, not a hug.
00:09:02.620 This is what I mean when I say liberal light, so-called conservative career politicians desperate to keep Alberta chained to a sinking ship.
00:09:12.580 It's over.
00:09:13.700 Alberta's out.
00:09:14.820 And we're not asking for permission.
00:09:16.700 Alright, thanks for watching.
00:09:18.280 Thank you for subscribing.
00:09:19.720 Special thanks to those of you who have donated to this project.
00:09:22.800 It is much appreciated and it helps me continue making videos.
00:09:26.500 See you on the next one.
00:09:27.840 Peace.
00:09:32.620 Peace.
00:09:34.080 Peace.
00:09:35.180 Peace.
00:09:36.160 Peace.
00:09:37.200 Peace.
00:09:37.420 Peace.
00:09:38.220 Peace.
00:09:38.800 Peace.
00:09:39.900 Peace.
00:09:40.980 Peace.
00:09:43.960 Peace.
00:09:48.620 Peace.
00:09:49.260 Peace.
00:09:49.660 Peace.
00:09:51.340 Peace.
00:09:51.620 Peace.
00:09:52.340 Peace.
