What is up guys, it's Andy Fursella and this is the show for the realists, say goodbye
00:00:21.560
to the lies, the fakeness and delusions of modern society and welcome to motherfucking
00:00:26.600
reality. Guys and today I'm going to give you some real, real, real reality and have short
00:00:32.500
real talk. Now if this is your first time listening to the show, welcome. Like I said, here's
00:00:38.020
the thing. We have two different kinds of shows, soon to be three actually. One is a full
00:00:43.180
length podcast where we have guests in the studio. All of my guests come in studio. We
00:00:48.280
have good conversations. We talk about life. We talk about politics. We talk about policy.
00:00:52.320
We talk about society. We talk about winning. We talk about losing. We talk about building.
00:00:57.500
We talk about laughing. We talk about crying. We're going to tell all kinds of stories and
00:01:01.740
some are going to make you fucking laugh. Some are going to make you cringe. It is what it
00:01:06.220
is. We tell the truth here. It's called real as fuck, not fake as fuck. So that's the full
00:01:11.760
length format. And then we have what I'm going to give you today. Today is where we give you
00:01:16.020
the real talk. These are going to be short. Sometimes they're going to be 10 minutes.
00:01:20.120
Sometimes they're going to be 20 minutes, but they're going to be bite-sized pieces of
00:01:25.160
information that will help you move forward towards your goals, whether that be in fitness
00:01:30.200
or business or life, wherever. This is applicable to almost every area. Understand you will not
00:01:36.100
hear ads here. We don't run ads. You won't see ads out there on the internet either because
00:01:40.340
I don't run ads out there. We work on a value trade for attention. If I provide you value,
00:01:47.860
if I made you laugh, if I made you think, if I educated you, if I taught you something,
00:01:52.420
if I made you, you know, question something, share the show, tell your friends, give us a
00:01:59.480
little posty post, a little Sherry share. It's very, very much appreciated. And that's how we've
00:02:04.900
built one of the top podcasts in the world. Not a dollar spends on advertising. It's all you guys
00:02:11.380
sharing it. And I love that we have that here because if I do good, you help me. If I don't
00:02:16.920
do good, don't help me. Isn't that the way the world should work? I'm cool with it. So before I
00:02:22.860
get into the episode, this is an extremely important episode. Okay. You guys have to understand
00:02:30.840
what's causing you the anxiety, the stress, the fear that you're going to be exposed as a fraud,
00:02:39.980
all of these things that make us frustrated and angry and make us feel like we're running through
00:02:46.640
life in quicksand. All right. We're going to talk about how to overcome those things. But before I
00:02:53.460
get into what this episode is really about, I want to remind you that the program 75 Hard will
00:02:59.900
tremendously help you with what we're about to talk about. Okay. So as you listen to this and you
00:03:05.880
think about, you know, well, yeah, what, how do I develop this discipline? Look, that's what that
00:03:11.400
program's for. It's about developing discipline. It's about developing grit. It's about developing
00:03:16.880
fortitude. It's about building real self-confidence, not that fake affirmation bullshit where you look in
00:03:22.880
the mirror and say, oh, I really like me. I'm so good when you're not. Okay. I'm talking about
00:03:27.920
building it from the core, from the inside out. Okay. We do that and I give it to you for free.
00:03:34.620
If you want, you go to 75hard.com, read all about it. You can go to my website,
00:03:39.620
andyfrusella.com. You can order the book if you want. You don't have to have the book.
00:03:43.160
The book just explains it in more detail. We've got some free podcasts. If you're not totally
00:03:48.880
unfamiliar with 75 Hard, the first one you're going to want to listen to is episode 14 on the
00:03:53.020
Real AF feed. And then also after you listen to that, I think you listen to episode 80 and it's
00:03:58.080
going to educate you on every single thing that you need to know about this program. All right.
00:04:03.320
So what are we going to talk about today? Today we have a real talk. And what I wanted to talk about
00:04:11.740
with you guys today was I wanted to talk to you about slaying the monster. And a lot of you guys
00:04:18.240
don't know what slaying the monster is. So I'm going to explain it to you. Okay. We all have that
00:04:24.340
monster, that monster that lives in our head. And that monster is the thing, whatever the thing may
00:04:31.720
be, whether it's working out or whether it's following a diet or whether it's calling on that
00:04:37.420
account that you're nervous to call on because you're scared of them a little bit, or whether it's
00:04:41.640
asking that person out, whatever it is, we all have a monster. Okay. Sometimes it's the insecurity
00:04:48.540
we feel about our bodies. Sometimes it's the inadequacies that we feel, uh, just because of
00:04:54.240
the pressures of the society we live in. Sometimes, uh, we're just pissed off and we don't know why.
00:05:01.040
And whatever that why is, is the monster. Okay. These are the things that keep us up at night.
00:05:07.700
These are the things that discourage us and cause us anxiety and cause us fear. You ever been walking
00:05:15.380
around and you know, you really don't know why you feel off, but then all of a sudden, you know,
00:05:20.900
you do that thing that you've been kind of putting off and then you feel better. Okay. That's what slaying
00:05:27.800
the monster is about. And the reason that we call it slaying the monster is because if you don't slay
00:05:35.580
the monster, the monster will eat you the fuck a lot. Okay. You will live a life of anxiety, of fear,
00:05:43.440
of confusion, of frustration. If you don't make a habit of slaying the monster. All right. So
00:05:51.400
you have to understand this is normal for people to do. We all have days where we don't feel like
00:06:00.380
doing what we need to do. We all have days. We struggle. We all have days that we dread getting
00:06:05.940
out of bed. We all have these days, guys, every single one of us. But the reason that we have
00:06:14.300
these days usually comes down to, we are not doing something that needs to be done. All right.
00:06:22.220
That's the monster. So think about what that is in your life right now. Think about what it is
00:06:27.560
that you're not doing that you could do right now that will actually relieve the stress,
00:06:34.460
the frustration, the anxiety that you're walking around with. Maybe it's having a conversation that
00:06:39.500
needs to be had. Maybe it's talking to your coworkers. Maybe it's talking to your boss. Maybe
00:06:45.000
it's talking to your significant other. Who knows? But something is causing you to feel this way.
00:06:51.080
And unless you understand that you have to slay that, meaning take care of it, get done with it,
00:06:57.560
you are going to continue to live in anxiety, frustration, fear, and, you know, the way you
00:07:05.600
feel right now. And you don't want to feel that way. Okay. So a lot of us go our whole lives not
00:07:12.740
understanding why we're walking around with extra stress and extra frustration and extra anxiety.
00:07:19.140
And when you feel yourself feeling this way, I want you to think about what the monster is.
00:07:24.420
What's the monster? Okay. Because here's the thing. And we are all guilty of this. Me included.
00:07:31.660
Okay. We, the longer we allow that monster to live in our brains, in our minds, the bigger and
00:07:38.440
stronger it gets, the scarier it gets, the more powerful it's perceived to be. And what ends up
00:07:45.520
happening is we build this thing up to be so much stronger and so much bigger and so much scarier
00:07:51.940
than it actually is, that it causes us a disproportionate amount of anxiety, fear, and
00:07:57.780
frustration in our day-to-day lives. All right. Nothing's that hard. Nothing's that bad. And if you
00:08:05.520
would just learn to take care of these things as they come to you, you would learn that there's a lot
00:08:11.600
of freedom in understanding how to kill this monster in your brain when it's a little bitty
00:08:17.200
monster, not a big, bad, scary monster. And the reason I was inspired to talk to you about this
00:08:22.780
today, guys, is because I had a project that I've been putting off and I've been putting it off and
00:08:27.440
putting it off and putting it off, literally putting off the project for like a year because
00:08:32.120
I was so frustrated with how the project was going. And what happened in that time was the project
00:08:39.920
got scarier. It got more difficult. It got, and I'm laughing because literally I sat down yesterday
00:08:47.360
and knocked it out in an hour. And I spent a whole entire year having anxiety and stress and frustration
00:08:54.700
about not having it done. And the minute that I had it done, I felt great. Okay. So it's necessary
00:09:03.460
for us to understand a couple of things. One, we have to identify what that monster is. It's causing
00:09:10.520
us all this negativity and all this anxiety and all this energy that's bad. And two, we've got to go
00:09:17.080
slay the motherfucker. All right. That's what has to happen. And the reason it has to happen is because
00:09:23.800
unless we take care of these issues, we end up making them into something that sucks all of our
00:09:30.200
positive energy, all of our momentum, all of our positive brain projection and activity and creativity
00:09:37.960
that we would have because we're worried about something that isn't even that bad. Okay. Once you
00:09:44.860
get done with this, you're going to be reminded how great it feels to overcome these situation guys.
00:09:51.160
And isn't that when we feel the most alive? Isn't that when we have the best feelings about
00:09:56.920
ourselves right after we do something that we've been dreading to do? It is. And you know, it is
00:10:03.160
because every single one of you, no matter how frustrated or how much you may be struggling right
00:10:08.980
now, you all have experienced what I'm talking about. You've all slayed a monster in the past,
00:10:15.580
which means you could slay plenty of these motherfuckers in the future. Okay. So if
00:10:21.020
you're feeling stressed and you're feeling anxious and you're feeling fearful and you're feeling
00:10:26.060
frustrated, identify what needs to be done. What is the thing? What is the monster that needs to be
00:10:33.140
slayed? Okay. And then go slay it. And your life's going to be a hell of a lot better. And not only is it
00:10:39.920
going to be better, it's going to be lighter. You're going to be able to move faster. You're
00:10:45.080
going to get excited about accomplishing things. You're going to get a momentum that you didn't
00:10:50.100
have before in a positive way. All right. This is something that all ultra successful people do.
00:10:57.380
They take the biggest motherfucking thing they have in their face and they smash it. And then they turn
00:11:03.200
their attention to the next thing. And this is why a lot of the people that you see in the world
00:11:07.800
who have the most responsibility are actually the most relaxed. You ever notice that these big time
00:11:14.920
CEOs, you don't see them running around like crazy. And it's not because they don't have a bunch of
00:11:20.620
fires going on either. These guys have tons and tons and tons of monsters on a daily basis. And the
00:11:29.660
reason they're able to live without feeling anxious and crazy and destructive and all of these things
00:11:36.940
that you feel like is because they've made a habit of slaying their monsters every motherfucking
