00:09:18.980 because i never had it okay and i've been studying mental toughness for 20 plus years and i've developed

00:09:38.220 75 hard program last year is because a certain piece of this puzzle fell in place for me i always
00:09:44.880 wondered why it was and how we went about learning how to be mentally tough i always wonder why there
00:09:53.400 wasn't a book or a course or something out there that actually could help us do this yes there's a lot
00:10:00.140 of theories yes there's a lot of words to read out there no there hasn't from my knowledge been

00:10:24.680 was james lawrence okay and otherwise known as the iron cowboy the reason he's known as the iron
00:10:32.120 cowboy is because he did 50 iron mans in 50 consecutive days in 50 consecutive states okay this man did
00:10:43.480 something amazing and i doubt that it will ever be replicated in the history of humanity and if it is
00:10:49.380 props to that person because this is tough all right after three days he lost all of his toenails
00:10:56.880 off of his feet so he had 47 more iron mans to go with no toenails all right so this dude's tough
00:11:05.080 and he knows what it takes to be mentally tough and while we were talking and while we were doing the
00:11:10.200 show he said something that made everything click for me he said you have to intentionally put yourself
00:11:16.680 in places that are uncomfortable and i never thought about it like that i knew subconsciously
00:11:23.480 what that was but i never heard it said like that everything kind of just fell into place as soon as i
00:11:29.760 heard that and if you go listen to the podcast when he says it you can hear that i'm like whoa all right
00:11:35.400 it clicked and i got fired up immediately man i went home i i started thinking about how i was going to put
00:11:42.340 this program together and literally by the next day i had this program put together and it was called
00:11:47.580 75 heart i decided on 75 days because i knew it's going to take a lot longer than the 21 days everybody
00:11:57.180 says to form a real habit we've all heard it before if you do something for 21 days it's going to be a
00:12:03.480 habit well we also all know that that's not true because we've all done stuff for 21 days and it didn't
00:12:09.620 stick and so at the time i had a bet going on with an entrepreneur group that i run called the arte
00:12:17.300 syndicate that i had a bet with the group that i would get to 10 body fat or i would have to pay
00:12:24.200 250 000 all right so that's where the 75 days came from because it happened to be 75 days to my deadline
00:12:33.560 i knew that was much longer than the 21 days and i had a pretty good idea that these things
00:12:39.420 would stick and you know what it turns out that i was right and the reason i can know i was right
00:12:44.420 is because there's been 50 60 000 people that have completed this program and if you go search
00:12:49.240 the 75 hard hashtag they'll tell you what it's done for them it's done things that nothing else ever
00:12:54.640 has all right so i thought through the requirements very very well of the program and all the things i
00:13:00.780 had learned over the last 20 years basically i put together in this program so that i could help you
00:13:07.880 guys understand what kind of structure it has been for me to create the mentality to go out and live
00:13:15.520 the life that i truly desire which i do every day by the way okay so i'm gonna go through a bunch of
00:13:23.060 things here and you're probably gonna want to take notes if you've never listened to this before
00:13:27.800 first thing is this all right 75 hard requires absolutely zero deviation zero compromise you
00:13:39.260 can't tweak the program to your liking this is the first thing that everybody tries to do when they
00:13:45.040 look at the program they look at it and they say well that's that's going to be inconvenient well
00:13:50.240 that's going to be yeah it's supposed to be inconvenient and it's supposed to be hard you can't tailor it to
00:13:57.100 your situation the reason for that is that you have to understand that in life conditions are never
00:14:04.700 going to be perfect you're always going to have to do things that you don't want to do and the minute
00:14:10.720 you start tweaking or compromising that's what opens the door to quitting okay so you have to commit
00:14:18.120 to the program a hundred percent and you have to do the requirements of the program to the letter
00:14:24.220 no matter what before you go to sleep for that day if you compromise on anything if you do one of
00:14:33.700 the workouts that's supposed to be 45 minutes and it's 42 minutes you have to start over from day one
00:14:40.160 if you miss something simple like you read nine pages instead of 10 pages you've got to start over
00:14:47.280 day one if you missed one ounce short of the gallon of water that it's asking you to drink you have to
00:14:55.080 start over from day one and there are no exceptions for this it doesn't matter how many kids you have

00:16:28.020 objections i want you to understand lots of other people have done this and lots of other people
00:16:34.340 have finished it the right way now there is some people because this is on the honor system who have
00:16:40.600 skated their way through and not done the things that they're supposed to do and then at the end they
00:16:45.920 try to celebrate and be a part of the group and i'm going to warn you up front the people who finish
00:16:51.000 it the right way can always tell who those people are okay if you follow the program exactly as it laid out

00:18:42.400 i'm going to do now is i'm going to go through the five critical tasks of 75hard now before i go
00:18:47.120 through them i want to stress extremely hard okay that your integrity in this program is everything
00:18:56.040 there is no system that checks up on you there is no coach that checks up on you there is no anything
00:19:03.320 that checks up on you and that's by design the reason there's nobody to check up on you is because
00:19:10.240 we're teaching you how to coach yourself if you know how to coach yourself and you know how to be
00:19:17.840 disciplined in yourself and you create these skills in yourself you will not need other people to remind
00:19:25.740 you so this is going to be work for a lot of you guys to do this you have to have integrity you might
00:19:33.320 lose some weight you might look better but mentally you are not going to get what this program provides
00:19:40.480 when you adhere to it a hundred percent i promise you okay so there's magic to this but it has to be
00:19:47.580 done completely with integrity if you fail start over and see it all the way through lots of people do
00:19:55.140 have to start over and see it all the way through i've got people who have failed four five six seven eight
00:20:00.840 times and made it through okay those people are completely transformed and you can ask any of them

00:20:15.420 figure out what it does all right so here are the five critical tasks of 75 hard the first one is this
00:20:23.300 choose a diet and commit to it i'm not going to tell you what diet you should do there is no
00:20:30.740 specified diet you need to choose the diet according to your goals meaning if you want to lose weight
00:20:38.880 and get leaner and get and get in better shape that way then choose a diet and commit to it
00:20:44.900 that entire time for that goal if you want to gain muscle and you want to get leaner that way
00:20:50.920 same thing all the way through all right here's the thing certain diets like counting macros
00:21:00.440 allow for people to eat junk and stack calories that is not the point you are missing the point of what
00:21:08.460 this program is about if you're going to do a calorie counting macro based diet the food needs to be
00:21:15.580 clean all the way through no trying to wait all day and then eat pancakes at the end of the day
00:21:21.200 or snacks this is about building mental discipline okay and here's the thing about the first requirement
00:21:30.440 no cheat meals lots of people bucket this and they say well how do i go 75 days without cheating well
00:21:37.500 lots of people have done it i did it twice last year and it was the best thing i ever did and i'm going to
00:21:43.440 tell you right now the first six days and seven days are the hardest because most of you have never gone
00:21:50.560 more than a week without taking a cheat meal that's the truth okay so this is going to be something
00:21:57.580 different for you and it's going to be difficult this is not called 75 easy but remember what you're
00:22:03.960 going to get out of the program all right so choose the diet according to your goals it's okay to get a
00:22:10.280 trainer or a consultant to help you with your diet 100 percent recommend that there's lots and lots of
00:22:16.380 great professionals out there that can help you with this thing and you have to stick with it and also
00:22:22.160 no junk none none whatsoever not one bite if you eat one chocolate chip in your macro diet you start
00:22:29.220 over okay and here's the other thing that you need to know that goes along with point one and no cheat
00:22:35.760 meals that means no alcohol either not a drop not a beer not a wine not a glass when you get home
00:22:42.380 nothing for at least 75 days okay this is part of following a diet that is going to improve your
00:22:51.280 physical self you need to eliminate alcohol and i know a lot of you guys are sitting there saying
00:22:56.100 oh dude how am i gonna make it through with no alcohol trust me you can do it all right there's a
00:23:02.060 number of reasons for this empty calories okay psychological addiction physical addiction all right
00:23:10.200 also by the way we're talking about detoxing your body and mind for 75 days a lot of you guys who drink
00:23:17.820 regularly and by the way i used to be one of these people so i know you don't understand how foggy you
00:23:24.660 are because of this lifestyle i used to be the guy who went out on thursday friday saturday nights and
00:23:32.500 then day drank on sundays and i was running companies like that and i can tell you right now when i eliminated
00:23:39.660 that for my life and by the way i still enjoy a drink i'm not some anti-alcohol zealot i still like to have
00:23:46.580 some beers with my friends or a glass of wine or some whatever's around actually it's whatever's
00:23:51.620 free all right let's be honest but this program does not allow for that so zero alcohol for 75 days
00:23:59.620 so that's the first requirement choose a diet that is going to be aligned with your personal goals
00:24:08.280 of your body and stick to it this is not choose a diet like saying oh well i'll eat fast food the
00:24:16.380 whole time that's a diet that's not what i mean i mean a diet that is going to improve your physical
00:24:21.880 health point number two drink one gallon of water every day everybody knows there's all sorts of health
00:24:31.260 benefits to being properly hydrated and drinking a gallon of water it sounds pretty easy lots of people
00:24:38.200 recommend it it's a lot harder than that you're going to have to make sure that you start early
00:24:45.380 and be consistent throughout the day your increased physical activity that we're going to get to in a
00:24:50.820 minute is going to require more water you're going to have to be disciplined to drink more water
00:24:56.020 throughout the whole day so that you're not chugging a gallon of water right before you go to bed which
00:25:01.040 by the way i had to do a few times the first time i went through because i was undisciplined about
00:25:06.620 doing it throughout the day all right so you have to drink a gallon of water every day point number
00:25:13.060 three you have to commit to two 45 minute workouts and one of them has to be outdoors they cannot be
00:25:23.660 consecutive you cannot go from one workout indoors to the workout outdoors that is not what this program
00:25:31.020 is about they are separated the reason they are separated is because it's supposed to be inconvenient
00:25:38.120 you're supposed to make it harder the reason you're supposed to make it harder is because you're trying
00:25:44.580 to develop and are developing these certain mental skills so you have to rid your mind of the idea of making
00:25:52.880 everything easier for yourself which we as humans have a tendency to do and i think if you're honest with
00:25:59.080 yourself right now you will tell yourself the truth that one of the main reasons that you're not where
00:26:05.420 you want to be in life is because you try and change everything to suit you unfortunately the world doesn't
00:26:14.660 work that way and this is a big problem for a lot of people a lot of people think they can throw a fit
00:26:21.320 or be stubborn or be mad or say this doesn't make sense and they get to get out of stuff and you know
00:26:28.880 what that's not how the world works not if you want to win so you have to do the two 45 minute workouts
00:26:37.060 and again you have to decide what these workouts are going to be according to your goals i don't care
00:26:44.480 what you do in fact maybe you should hire a trainer or a coach to help you do your workouts if you're
00:26:51.280 a beginner if you're not a beginner um you know do what you got to do most of the time uh i lift weights
00:26:59.240 in one workout and then i do outdoor uh walk run blend on the outdoor workout okay so those are two
00:27:07.560 two separate workouts now you will have to do workouts and in climate weather you will have to do
00:27:17.820 workouts in thunderstorms you will have to do workouts in snow you will have to do workouts when it's hot
00:27:26.980 you will have to do workouts when it's cold this is the point of the program conditions are never
00:27:34.780 perfect and one of the reasons that most people can't get through life in an effective way
00:27:40.220 is because the minute that conditions are off they throw the towel in on their plan
00:27:46.260 45 minutes outside no matter what sometimes you might have to drag a piece of equipment out in your
00:27:57.100 driveway and do it at one o'clock in the morning i did that a number of times sometimes the day might be
00:28:04.020 perfect and it might be no no problem i love those days too but what you're going to see is that as you
00:28:10.860 go through the program and you start to develop these skills of mental toughness is you're going to start
00:28:17.660 to crave the inclement weather because you know that it's a test you know that it's something you need
00:28:23.380 to overcome and you're going to take pride in this because you know that nobody else is doing it
00:28:30.880 there's something extremely empowering about going out on your local running trail or your walking
00:28:37.460 trail when it's raining outside and there's nobody there and you know that you're the only person
00:28:43.060 that's out there paying the price that will help build you okay this is what champions are made of
00:28:51.300 this is what greatness consists of it's doing things that you know you're supposed to do when you
00:28:58.440 don't want to do them and when nobody else is doing them either this is a huge part of it so don't
00:29:05.400 skip this don't cheat it don't buck at it i promise you you're going to end up loving it and my little
00:29:12.100 asterisk to that whole thing is obviously there's scenarios where you're not going to want to go outside
00:29:18.740 it could be lightning it could be a hurricane it could be tornado warning i am not telling you to do this
00:29:26.600 by the way this is your choice be smart use your brain do what you know is right but don't cheat the
00:29:34.640 program and you'll find a way to get it done that's the truth i live here in missouri sometimes we got
00:29:41.260 tornadoes sometimes we have a foot of snow other times it's 110 degrees outside and guess what i've done
00:29:49.580 outdoor cardio in all those scenarios all of them all right and by the way it doesn't have to be
00:29:55.620 cardio outside you could do weights outside you could do crossfit you could do jumping jacks you
00:30:01.480 could do jump rope you could do bands you can do airway squats i am not telling you have to go do what
00:30:07.460 i do i'm saying you have to do a workout outside all right so two workouts and both can be outside by
00:30:13.700 the way if you want to do them both outside that's cool one of them has to be all right so that's
00:30:20.120 point number three two workouts 45 minutes minimum each one outside point four read 10 pages of a
00:30:31.600 non-fiction book every day this is not entertainment time this is not harry potter time this is learn new
00:30:40.960 stuff time okay so the book has to be a self-development book of some sort for personal
00:30:48.040 or professional growth does not have to be a business book it could be a psychology book it does
00:30:54.800 not have to be a book on banking it could be a book on how to do something else but the point is you have
00:31:01.540 to learn some new stuff all right standard format not audio books not digital books not books with
00:31:11.340 five words on each page not coloring books all of these things people try to skate out on and they
00:31:18.640 try to like get around the reason it has to be a real book there's actually a lot of reasons which i will
00:31:26.980 address in the book 75 hard but the main reason that it has to be a real book is because there's a
00:31:34.920 sense of accomplishment that you can see as you move through the book okay when you go through the book
00:31:42.180 and you hold the book up sideways and you see how far you are through it like we all do you're going to
00:31:48.060 start to feel a sense of confidence as you do this you're going to start to feel like yeah actually i'm doing
00:31:54.780 what i should do and what you're going to start to notice on a micro level on a day by day level
00:32:00.180 is that you're getting stronger every single day at first i'm going to tell you this is going to be
