00:03:47.100 my personal fitness journey this year as an example for that. But this can also be used in business. It
00:03:53.420 can be used in relationships. It can be used a lot of different ways. But I'm going to talk in terms of
00:03:59.320 my personal weight loss fitness journey. Okay? I didn't just lose weight. I gained muscle. It's
00:04:05.040 not just about weight loss. It's about body composition, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. If

00:04:21.440 day is going to become your life. All right? There is, it's not just about the quote-unquote
00:04:29.820 law of attraction, although it is about that. It's not just about the metaphysical, the quantum
00:04:35.560 physical aspects of what you think about becomes reality, although it is about that too. But what it
00:04:42.240 is more about is how your brain responds to the language that you are actually using internally.
00:04:49.820 For example, when you go on a diet program or you go on a fitness program and you think about all
00:04:57.400 the things that you have to give up to get where you want to go, your brain does not focus on the
00:05:06.360 end result. It doesn't focus on the awesome physique that you're going to have. It doesn't focus on how
00:05:12.560 fun it is to go in the dressing room and buy clothes that fit. It doesn't focus on how good you're going
00:05:18.560 to feel. It doesn't focus on the energy that you're going to have. It doesn't focus on you not being
00:05:23.200 embarrassed to go to the fucking swimming pool because you're a fat ass. Okay? It doesn't focus
00:05:28.180 on that. But you know what it does focus on? It focuses on the pizza I got to give up. It focuses
00:05:34.920 on the french fries I got to give up. It focuses on the TV time I got to give up because I'm at the gym.
00:05:40.520 Okay? And when you are focusing on what you have to give up, your brain literally says this. And a lot
00:05:50.040 of you guys can relate to this. You know, fuck. You know, I've got to give up pizza. And all your
00:05:56.100 brain says is this. Pizza. Pizza. Pizza. Pizza. Pizza. Pizza. Pizza. Pizza. Until you become fucking
00:06:04.040 obsessed with fucking pizza and you break down and you order two 18 inch pizzas with fucking chicken
00:06:11.360 wings, french fries, and all the other shit that goes with it. You eat the shit, you lay on the couch,

00:06:21.740 before. All right? And it goes for any area of life. You've got to speak to yourself in the terms of

00:06:44.400 Focus is a huge part of that because when you go along in the beginning of your journey, whatever that
00:06:51.820 journey may be, you are going to naturally focus on the things that you have to give up. And you have

00:07:12.100 mentioned 10 of them about losing weight, you know, going to the pool and being able to take your shirt

00:07:22.740 speaking in public, a million other things. Okay? That go along with being fit. When you're focused
00:07:29.700 on those things and your focus is so intense and so strong and your visualization is so in tune with
00:07:36.600 those things, you don't want to fucking fuck that up. You don't want a cheat meal. You don't want pizza.
00:07:43.220 You don't want McDonald's. You don't want to go out with your friends and drink beer. That's not what you
00:07:47.800 want. Because what you want is what you're focusing on. And your actions will naturally flow behind
00:07:53.880 that focus and follow that focus up when you focus on the right things. Your actions will always follow

00:09:10.160 yourself on all the time is what you are doing this for. Why you are doing this. You look at your

00:09:22.720 for that kid to go to a good high school, to a good college. I'm going to take care of them and I'm
00:09:27.700 going to build awesome memories with them because of what I'm doing now. Okay. When you think about,
00:09:34.180 oh, you know, I've got to give up my time with my buddies. Don't think about them sitting around
00:09:39.080 at the fucking pub table at your local watering hole, drinking a fucking Budweiser. No, think about
00:09:45.160 you being on the back of a motherfucking yacht with all your boys having a good time. That's why you're
00:09:49.840 doing this shit. Okay. You've got to focus on the result. You've got to focus on the end goal.

00:10:38.840 one of my first books I ever read, uh, was by Tony Robbins. And in the book, he uses the example
00:10:44.180 of driving a race car. And I like this example because I think it proves exactly the point.
00:10:53.280 Your car, when you're driving a race car will go where you look. Okay. So when you start to slide
00:11:00.940 out and you start to look, you start to look and you're sliding towards the wall, they teach you to
00:11:04.560 look at the road, not at the wall, because your actions will always follow the, the way that you need
00:11:10.840 to move to get the car back into the road. All right. It's just a natural reaction. It's the

00:12:07.600 You have to immediately start thinking, no, I don't want that. What I want is I want to be looking
00:12:15.460 good when it's time to take my shirt off on the fucking boat this summer, or I want to be able to
00:12:20.460 fit in those jeans, or I want to be able to show up in my high school reunion looking great, or I want
00:12:26.380 to just be healthy so I don't fucking kick it at 40 years old. Okay. You've got to immediately
00:12:33.560 recognize when these thoughts of short term creep in and fucking stop them and start thinking about
00:12:41.400 what it is you really want. And what happens, guys, it's just like what happens, what we talked
00:12:45.340 about in the last week's podcast or this week's earlier podcast, I'm sorry, where we talk about
00:12:49.800 momentum. Okay. When you create the momentum and the discipline of doing this in the very beginning,
00:12:56.680 after a few weeks, after a month or two months, you're going to automatically be focused on the
00:13:03.040 result. And these little things that creeped in your mind in the beginning, you know, the missing
00:13:07.880 the time with your kids, if you're working on a business or the missing the time here or the
00:13:11.140 sacrifice here, or, you know, the pizza that you used to eat, those things are not even going to be
00:13:16.180 thoughts for you. They're not even going to be in your brain. They're not even going to come in
00:13:19.780 because you're going to be so fucking laser dial focused on what it is you want that your brain
00:13:26.440 only thinks about the actions and only does and produces the actions that will follow that focus.
00:13:35.580 So guys, if you're having trouble sticking to a diet, like I have for many years in the beginning,
00:13:41.060 I said, you know, I failed at this sometimes because I failed to recognize either a what I
00:13:48.920 really wanted and define that and visualize that the proper way, as we talked in the last podcast.
00:13:54.320 Okay. I didn't do that. B I failed to recognize when the negative thoughts came in and to actually
00:14:02.220 refocus consciously on my end goal, on my, my end game on what I really want. So that
00:14:11.000 I can stay on track. And so it will not be a constant mental battle. And this is what
00:14:17.740 discourages people so much guys, because people start out on a program. All right. And whether it
00:14:23.760 be anything, they start out on a program in the very beginning, it's just hard. Okay. You're
00:14:28.840 replacing habits that you've had for a long time. You're doing new things. You are doing things that
00:14:34.200 are hard. But what happens is, is that after you do them for a long enough period of time,
00:14:39.280 and that period of time is not that long, you create new habits. All right. So when you,
00:14:44.560 when you're mentally struggling, you know, let's say you're, you're somebody who's trying to give
00:14:49.000 up alcohol or you're trying to give up a food addiction and food addiction is a real thing.
00:14:53.500 Okay. Try being fucking, you know, the, the funny thing I tried to explain to people about food
00:14:58.180 addiction is this. And, and a lot of people don't get it is that, you know, with alcohol and cigarettes,
00:15:04.040 you can quit cold Turkey. All right. Is it painful? Is it hard? Yeah. But what if to survive,
00:15:09.660 you just had to drink a little bit of alcohol every day, or you just had to smoke a little bit
00:15:14.880 of cigarettes because you had to do it to survive. That's why food addiction is so fucking hard for
00:15:19.120 people because they've got to actually eat and do the things that they're addicted to, to actually
00:15:25.540 survive. And it's a very, very real and very, very hard thing for people to do. So when, if you're one
00:15:32.940 of these people or you're trying to do anything, just remember that you can still change the habits
00:15:38.620 that you've created. It just takes discipline in the beginning. All right. Once you get three,
00:15:43.960 four, five, six, seven weeks in these thoughts and these, these wants and these things that creep
00:15:48.980 in your mind to where they're forcing, you know, you to be in agony because you want something so bad,
00:15:54.740 they're not going to be there and progress is going to get easier. All right. And after two or three
00:16:00.040 months, five months, it's going to be fucking automatic. All you have to do is stick it through
00:16:05.160 in the beginning. And like I said, and I keep saying this goes for everything. It goes for business.
00:16:11.060 It goes for physique. It goes for mental health. It goes for relationships. You've got to be able
00:16:17.820 to understand and stick with all of this in order for the new habits to take place.

00:17:17.680 drama here. You get, dude, what the fuck are you doing? You're spending all this energy and all this
00:17:24.640 time on things that do not fucking matter, which is disrupting your focus. Learn to be focused. Learn to
00:17:32.720 be disciplined about being focused. Learn to block out these instant gratification thoughts for the delay
00:17:41.500 gratification thoughts. Learn to recognize when those thoughts come in that your job is to put
00:17:47.980 a mental block up and refocus on the long term. All right. It's hard in the beginning. It gets easier
00:17:56.660 and eventually it becomes automatic. All right. Focus on the shit you want and forget about the shit you
