00:00:00.000 I can stack them honeys to the roof. I ain't stopping till they stack to the moon.
00:00:05.000 Without me, my family wouldn't have food. Anybody go against me gotta lose.
00:00:12.620 What is up guys? You're listening to the MFCEO Project. I'm Andy. I'm your host and I am the
00:00:18.640 motherfucking CEO. All right. Today is Thursday Thunder and I've got something very important
00:00:24.700 to talk to you about, like I always do on Thursdays. But before I do that, remember that
00:00:31.540 we have an iTunes reviews contest going. All right. Screenshot and email your reviews to
00:00:39.460 contact at andyfusella.com with the subject line review contest after you go make the review.
00:00:47.980 What's the prize for the review contest? The prize is coming out to St. Louis, Missouri
00:00:53.760 staying at the Four Seasons, going to a five-star dinner, hanging out with me so we can help you
00:01:00.960 kick ass at whatever it is that you're doing. And we're going to do that in the next two weeks.
00:01:08.420 Not the actual trip, but we're going to pick the winner. All right. So if this is your first time
00:01:13.760 listening to the MFCEO Project, what is a motherfucking CEO? And you may be thinking,
00:01:22.200 well, I don't know. Well, the answer is this. The answer is we are all motherfucking CEOs.
00:01:31.340 We are people here who take command, who take control, who make decisions that are conscious
00:01:40.200 and deliberate about our lives. We work to make ourselves and the people around us better
00:01:50.840 through our actions. We are not people who get our lives dictated to us. We are not people who take
00:02:00.200 whatever anyone else will give us. We go out and take what the fuck we want. That's what an MFCEO is.
00:02:11.340 And that's also why we have been ranked in the top 10 business category for nearly three years straight
00:02:19.920 because we talk about the real shit. We don't talk about ideal things. We talk about real things.
00:02:28.020 Okay. And most people spend all their time talking about the way things should be and the way things
00:02:34.260 aren't and why they can't get ahead. And they take actions that are based upon this fucking world that
00:02:40.660 doesn't even exist called idealist unicorn land. And that's how they operate. While real people like us,
00:02:48.080 we actually recognize the way the world is and we take appropriate actions to succeed in the real
00:02:53.500 world. And then by the way, if we want to fix things, we use our success in the real world to
00:03:01.480 make the real world more ideal. You should probably go replay that again because that's what this world
00:03:10.060 is missing. Now, what I want to talk to you guys about today is something that has been on my mind.
00:03:18.060 And I've covered this in the past before, but it is, it is, is really on my mind a lot lately because
00:03:27.100 I've got a lot of, um, DMS and emails and, and, and I guys, I read, uh, a lot, all the emails you
00:03:33.720 send in on Andy for sell. I read, um, sometimes I don't check my DMS, uh, and I read them, but I won't
00:03:41.320 respond because I don't get fucking time to do it. And that's just the truth. But something that I see
00:03:46.540 consistently across the board is the idea that there is no place for you in whatever it is that
00:03:57.400 you're in. Okay. Whether you're starting a new business and you think, well, there's already X
00:04:03.540 amount of this out there. I can't do this because of them. Or you're in a company because really do
00:04:11.240 there's only two ways to be successful. Let's be real. One, start your own fucking business. We're
00:04:15.520 talking about financially successful, maybe three. Okay. Be born rich to which none of us are to, uh,
00:04:24.680 just go start a business or three becomes such a valuable part of the company that you work for
00:04:30.740 that you're rewarded financially very well. All right. And a lot of you guys are in that third
00:04:36.440 category and that's okay because what we're going to talk about right here is applicable. Just like
00:04:42.500 everything we talk about is applicable to both two and three categories. People who want to start
00:04:46.660 their business and people who want to become a highly valued, uh, asset to the company they work
00:04:54.780 for. Now I seen this a lot. Um, and I see it with both groups. I see people thinking that there is no
00:05:03.440 room for them. They might be working in a company and they might be sweeping the floor and they look
00:05:09.280 ahead and they say, Oh man, there's so many great people in this company. There's no way there's
00:05:15.940 going to be room for me to build a valuable career. And so what do they do? They, they do the job half
00:05:22.000 ass. They don't take pride in what they do. They don't work to become a valuable asset of the company.
00:05:28.280 And what happened because they don't believe it's going to pay off. And what happens is their thoughts
00:05:33.040 become a self-fulfilling prophecy. All right. They think it's not going to work. So they don't work.
00:05:40.240 And then the plan that they have doesn't work. All right. And we see this all the time, but I'm here
00:05:45.720 to tell you something. I want to explain to you the idea of how this plays out conceptually so that
00:05:52.460 maybe you can have a little more belief in yourself than what you have at this current moment.
00:05:57.600 I want you to imagine a pyramid. Okay. And at the base of the pyramid, the widest part that is year
00:06:05.000 number one. All right. And for you guys that are working in the company, sweeping the floor or for
00:06:09.480 you guys starting a business, it doesn't matter. This is year one. And in year one, there is tons
00:06:15.080 of people who are trying to start a business or who also doing the same job you're doing in your
00:06:20.380 business. You're coming in, you're the lowest common denominator. All right. The competition is
00:06:27.240 immense because the barrier to entry at this level is fucking zero. All right. So then I want you to
00:06:36.180 think about the next level of the pyramid. All right. And this pyramid, this level is people who
00:06:41.160 stick with that job or whatever it is, their company or their idea or their mission or their
00:06:47.160 whatever for five years. All right. Now, obviously the second section of the pyramid is not as big as the
00:06:54.220 the base of the base of the pyramid. And what this represents is the people who quit in the first
00:07:01.420 four years. All right. And so now you're competing with less people for the same thing. Okay. And by the
00:07:10.240 way, you've learned five years of skills that are going to help you be more effective. All right. And so
00:07:17.820 then let's look at the next section of the pyramid, the next section of the pyramid is way smaller than
00:07:24.400 the second section of the period. And, and only a quarter of the size of the first section. And the
00:07:30.360 sec, the third section of the pyramid is people who stayed there for seven years. And what happened?
00:07:37.160 Half of the people from the second section now quit, which means you're competing with less and less
00:07:42.500 people. All right. And ignore the years. This could be one, three, four. It could be, you know,
00:07:49.000 one, two, three years. It doesn't matter. The point that's being conveyed here is that as you stick with
00:07:56.040 something, the competition becomes less and less because other people quit. All right. And this is why
00:08:05.000 most people spend their entire lives going from job to job, to job, to job, or an entrepreneurship
00:08:12.860 idea to idea, to idea, to idea, because they are part of the group, the mass, the majority that quits
00:08:21.200 at the base. So they can never get anywhere because they don't put in the time and they don't learn the
00:08:29.400 skills that would allow them to succeed at whatever it is. So what are we really talking about?
00:08:35.000 We're talking about fucking endurance. We're talking about being able to put up with more pain than
00:08:43.100 the next guy. We're talking about being able to be more patient than the next person. We're talking about
00:08:50.020 being able to learn more skills on a daily basis and take more pride in your job on a daily basis than
00:08:59.300 your coworkers. We're talking about people who will not fucking quit. And I get asked this all the time
00:09:07.340 when I do interviews for other podcasts. What's the biggest secret to success? Don't fucking quit.
00:09:13.920 That's it. And I know that sounds overly simple. And I know that doesn't sound like, oh, I can make a
00:09:19.520 fucking million dollars in one fucking day. And I know that doesn't sound like buy my course and you'll be
00:09:24.820 rich in three months because all of that shit is bullshit. The only fucking truth that you need to
00:09:31.420 know about being successful is that you need to have fucking endurance. You need to have grit. You
00:09:37.840 need to have the stick-to-itiveness to persevere past the point that your competition will.
00:09:46.340 And your competition could be other companies. It could be your coworkers. But you are in a
00:09:53.640 competition whether you want to recognize it or not. You have to understand that as you go further,
00:10:01.740 your competition gets less and you become more skilled. So it becomes easier to defeat
00:10:08.320 your competition the longer you're in the game. And a lot of you guys, I love millennials,
00:10:15.740 man. My whole company's made of them. But a lot of you guys just don't understand the concept of
00:10:21.980 being patient. You don't understand the concept of that it's going to take years for you to build a
00:10:29.000 successful career. Years. And the reason that you don't understand that, and it's not your fault,
00:10:35.000 by the way, the people who created the technology that you were born and bred and grew up in created a
00:10:42.000 world for you that was fast, that was easy, that was quick, that was instant. It involves things like
00:10:48.460 getting your food quick, calling a fucking Uber and they're there in two seconds, texting, emailing,
00:10:54.600 social media, seeing your friends everywhere. Everything is fast and fucking easy now. And for
00:11:00.020 that reason, you didn't grow up with the understanding that some things, regardless of technology, are going to
00:11:07.680 take you years. And being successful financially is one of them. It's going to take years. It's not
00:11:15.360 going to take one year. It's not going to take two years. It's not going to take three years. It's going
00:11:22.000 to take a fucking decade or more. And that's the truth. That's the shit nobody wants to tell you.
00:11:27.780 Because if I were to tell you that, hey man, why don't you buy my program and you could fucking be
00:11:33.420 successful in 10 years, what are you going to say? You're going to say, fuck off. Because most of the
00:11:39.000 people aren't willing to stick with shit for 10 fucking years. But that's the truth. That's why
00:11:45.280 success is so rare. That's why people who have success will tell you all the same shit I'm telling
00:11:51.160 you right now. You got to have grit. You got to have endurance. You got to understand that it's going
00:11:57.880 to take time. And while that time is passing, you've got to be aggressive. We talk about it all
00:12:03.360 the time. Aggressive patience. You got to learn as much as you can while you're doing it. You've
00:12:08.900 got to hustle as hard as you can on a daily basis. You've got to fucking practice your skill on a
00:12:14.360 daily basis to the point where you're better than everybody else. That's the key to success.
00:12:21.180 Your competition is going to get less and less the longer you go. Your advantage is going to get
00:12:26.020 bigger and bigger over everybody else. And let me tell you something. When you've been doing
00:12:29.960 something for 10 years and you know the ins is out and you have real skill, you're fucking valuable
00:12:34.600 anywhere you go. Anywhere you go. Not just in that company you work at now. So a lot of people will
00:12:42.040 say to themselves, well, I'm not going to do that because my company doesn't believe in me. My
00:12:45.560 company doesn't grow the way I want. You know what? It doesn't matter if your companies grow the way you
00:12:50.540 want it to grow or have a position for you or this or that. Because the skill that you're going to learn
00:12:54.260 by doing what I'm talking about over the course of a fucking decade is going to be valuable anywhere
00:13:00.760 you fucking take it. And that's it.
