00:00:00.300 If you want to make your dream become reality, the people that are running after that dream know they're going to have hard times.
00:00:06.840 They keep on running because they're saying within themselves, I'm the one. I'm the one.
00:00:12.080 No matter how bad it is or how bad it gets, I'm going to make it.
00:00:22.100 What is up, guys? You're listening to the MFCEO Project. I'm Andy. I'm your host.
00:00:26.560 And guess what? Today is Sunday Sermon, so I leave out at least one F-bomb in honor of Sunday.
00:00:34.120 But that doesn't change the fact that we are here to talk about important things.
00:00:40.460 And if you're listening to Sunday Sermon, you're listening to the rest of the podcast as well. 0.98
00:00:46.140 So I'm going to spare you all the, you know, refer a friend shit. 0.97
00:00:49.960 If you don't know how to do that by now, there's no hope for you in this program. 0.98
00:00:55.320 Appreciate you listening.
00:00:56.560 But you guys know what we do and why we do it, and I'm not going to cover that.
00:01:00.540 I'm just going to get right into what I want to talk about this Sunday.
00:01:05.380 A lot of you guys, you know, you use Sunday as a day to reflect and improve and try to get better
00:01:13.940 and get your mind right for the upcoming week.
00:01:16.840 And a lot of you guys go to church.
00:01:18.960 You have your little organizations you go to.
00:01:21.140 You spend time with family.
00:01:22.720 And guys, that's great.
00:01:24.220 But my hope and our hope with Sunday Sermon is to get you thinking along the lines of how you're going to be better,
00:01:33.500 not just for this week coming up, but forever.
00:01:36.240 These are useful tools that you can come back to over and over again.
00:01:38.900 And what I want to talk to you guys about today is something that I've been noticing not just over this past week,
00:01:46.000 but over the course of, you know, the last five or six years as social media has become more and more and more of our lives.
00:01:54.900 And like a lot of you guys, you know, sometimes I get sucked into social media and I waste too much time on the Internet
00:02:02.080 when I could be doing more productive things. 0.99
00:02:05.320 And like a lot of you guys, I come across things that make me think, what in the actual fuck? 0.98
00:02:12.880 And I'm sure you can relate, okay? 0.99
00:02:14.840 This culture that we're living in here is insane. 0.92
00:02:17.800 Like literally, society has become one huge insane asylum and it seems like it's the lunatics that are running the place. 0.87
00:02:24.220 And you know, you don't have to spend too much time online before you see that people aren't just insane. 0.88
00:02:30.120 They are insanely angry.
00:02:32.320 And before you say, hey Andy, you know, I listen to you a lot. 1.00
00:02:34.840 Don't be a hypocrite. 0.99
00:02:35.800 You're pretty angry. 1.00
00:02:36.700 Let me tell you something.
00:02:37.840 First of all, yeah, I do get angry.
00:02:39.500 And sometimes I do lose my temper.
00:02:41.580 But most of the time, what you perceive as anger is actually intensity, okay?
00:02:46.680 And the second thing is this.
00:02:48.380 There's something you should know.
00:02:49.520 In my view, there's two types of anger, all right?
00:02:52.180 The first anger is based on actual injustice, okay?
00:02:56.120 If you come home and you found your spouse in bed with somebody else, are you going to be angry? 0.99
00:03:00.360 Fuck yeah, you're going to be angry because it's justified. 0.99
00:03:03.160 In fact, that's why our laws say that if a dude comes home and finds his wife banging his best friend 1.00
00:03:08.640 and he ends up killing the dude, he can sometimes get charged with manslaughter instead of first-degree murder, all right?
00:03:14.780 And that's because the laws here in America recognize that sometimes people do bad things when they are in a fit of rage.
00:03:22.300 And they say that sometimes it's understandable why we're so angry.
00:03:26.360 And when you hear me on the podcast or see me on social media and you think I'm angry,
00:03:30.920 first of all, ask yourself if I'm just being intense because I care.
00:03:34.580 But more so, if I am angry, I'm angry because people are buying into lies.
00:03:41.880 They are believing that they can do nothing and accomplish everything.
00:03:46.020 Or worse, they believe that they are nothing and they can't do anything with their lives, all right?
00:03:52.100 We have these two huge extremes. 0.99
00:03:54.220 They think that because they were born poor or grew up with shitty parents 0.82
00:03:57.980 or aren't naturally talented or gifted that there's no hope for them to really live a remarkable life 0.90
00:04:04.980 and accomplish super remarkable things, okay?
00:04:08.480 And I know for a fact, and you should too, that that is a lie, all right?
00:04:13.220 I know it's a lie that too many people believe.
00:04:15.920 And it hurts them and keeps them from becoming who they were meant to be.
00:04:20.700 It keeps them from living a life they were meant to be.
00:04:24.020 It keeps them from impacting people the way they were meant to impact people.
00:04:28.880 And most importantly, it keeps them from being fulfilled, all right? 0.91
00:04:33.540 And yeah, that makes me fucking angry, okay? 0.66
00:04:37.040 I hate when things go to waste. 0.98
00:04:39.160 I hate when I see people waste their potential or waste their lives.
00:04:43.800 Whenever someone's life is wasted, it's a complete injustice,
00:04:47.240 not only to them, but to everybody that depends on them or looks at them
00:04:52.900 and is surrounded by them, okay?
00:04:55.500 So yes, that anger is justified.
00:04:58.880 But there's the other type of anger that comes from being offended, okay?
00:05:03.640 And that's the second type of anger I want to talk about.
00:05:05.760 Have you ever looked up the definition of offended?
00:05:08.820 Because what it really means is being resentful or being annoyed, hurt, or wounded.
00:05:14.380 And I think the key word there is resentful, okay?
00:05:18.020 So many people are angry and offended in our culture because they are resentful.
00:05:22.920 They look at something out in the world and they say,
00:05:25.580 if it wasn't for that, if it wasn't for him, if it wasn't for her,
00:05:28.840 if it wasn't for them, I could be happy.
00:05:31.400 I could be satisfied.
00:05:32.700 I could have a great life if it wasn't for X, okay? 1.00
00:05:36.820 You have the far-left liberal, you know, crazy motherfuckers out there saying, 1.00
00:05:41.760 impeach Trump, he's a fucking source of everything wrong in America. 1.00
00:05:45.620 Get rid of him and then America will finally be great. 1.00
00:05:48.100 And then on the other side, you have the fucking crazy right-wing fucking motherfuckers 1.00
00:05:52.160 who are saying, you know what? 1.00
00:05:54.120 Fuck Obama. 1.00
00:05:54.980 He's the root of all evil. 1.00
00:05:56.180 Everything in America was great until he came along.
00:05:58.560 And dude, neither one of those people are true, okay?
00:06:01.240 It doesn't matter who we're talking about.
00:06:03.920 It seems like half the society that we have in this country resents the other half, 1.00
00:06:08.760 no matter what, okay?
00:06:10.920 Conservative Christian preachers, they say, 1.00
00:06:13.680 oh, well, if those gay people would just go away, 1.00
00:06:15.720 God would bless America and America would be great. 1.00
00:06:18.020 Gay people say, if they could just censor the quote-unquote hate speech 0.98
00:06:21.780 of those conservative preachers, 1.00
00:06:23.280 then life in America would be all rainbows and fuzzy fluffy shit, right? 1.00
00:06:27.660 Like that's what we have going on in this country. 0.99
00:06:30.620 And that's the problem with this country right now.
00:06:33.860 The social justice warriors are resentful of the capitalists
00:06:37.400 and the entrepreneurs, the capitalists and entrepreneurs think
00:06:40.080 that social justice warriors should stop protests to get a job
00:06:43.280 and become contributing members of society.
00:06:45.360 And guess what? 0.99
00:06:46.020 That's what I fucking think too. 0.99
00:06:47.180 But that's regardless of the point. 0.99
00:06:49.140 The bottom line is this.
00:06:51.520 Everybody is angry because everybody is resentful.
00:06:54.720 Because everybody thinks that someone or something else
00:06:58.200 is the problem with society.
00:07:00.020 And I was explaining this
00:07:01.200 and kind of having a conversation with Vaughn about this.
00:07:04.460 By the way, he's out of town, which is why he's not on this Sunday sermon.
00:07:07.980 He usually will be.
00:07:09.200 But I was talking with him about it
00:07:10.500 and he told me a really cool story, okay?
00:07:13.240 There was a famous English author named G.K. Chesterton
00:07:16.440 who lived in the early 1900s.
00:07:19.000 And one day, the editor of the London Times,
00:07:21.660 one of the biggest newspapers in the world,
00:07:24.180 sent a letter to a bunch of famous authors
00:07:26.260 and journalists across the country.
00:07:28.160 And he asked him to reply to this one simple question.
00:07:32.720 What's wrong with the world today?
00:07:35.240 And this is such a cool story
00:07:36.980 because Chesterton wrote back a letter to the editor
00:07:40.820 and it only had seven words.
00:07:42.580 And I'm going to read it to you.
00:07:43.980 It says,
00:07:44.320 Dear Sir, I am.
00:07:46.400 Sincerely, G.K. Chesterton.
00:07:48.440 You know what? 0.97
00:07:49.060 I fucking love that 0.98
00:07:50.320 because that is what's wrong with the world. 0.99
00:07:53.400 I am what's wrong with the world.
00:07:55.580 And that's the attitude that all of us have to take.
00:07:58.880 Nobody else is the problem.
00:08:00.600 I'm the problem.
00:08:02.040 And once we recognize that,
00:08:03.460 we can start working to fix the problem.
00:08:06.000 Instead of resenting God for things that have happened to us,
00:08:08.820 we can ask him to help us become what we want to be
00:08:11.940 and do what we want to do.
00:08:14.520 You don't have to be super religious to pray. 0.99
00:08:18.260 And what the fuck is it going to do to hurt 0.99
00:08:20.220 to get up every morning and take three seconds and say, 0.99
00:08:22.580 God, I don't want to be a part of the problem.
00:08:24.500 I need your help.
00:08:25.580 Make me strong so I can help us find a solution.
00:08:28.060 That doesn't take a whole lot,
00:08:29.660 regardless of what denomination you might be.
00:08:32.720 All right?
00:08:33.320 Wrap it in with your gratitude of brushing the teeth.
00:08:35.520 It makes a big difference.
00:08:37.100 Instead of resenting other people
00:08:38.680 and seeing them as the problem,
00:08:40.840 try to become the solution to their problems.
00:08:44.480 And what's going to happen is,
00:08:45.900 I guarantee you that you will attract people
00:08:48.860 who are going to help you find solutions
00:08:51.480 to real problems you face in your own life.
00:08:53.560 Okay?
00:08:54.280 And instead of resenting yourself,
00:08:56.540 do everything you can to help yourself.
00:08:59.520 Okay?
00:08:59.960 When you say, I am the problem,
00:09:01.920 I don't mean we should beat ourselves up.
00:09:03.760 I mean that we should be honest with ourselves
00:09:06.280 and hold ourselves accountable
00:09:07.920 and then act to help ourselves become
00:09:11.280 what we can be and what we're meant to be.
00:09:15.120 Guys, this isn't a motivational message.
00:09:17.300 This is a moral message.
00:09:19.260 Pointing your finger at yourself
00:09:20.660 instead of pointing your finger at everything else
00:09:22.840 in every other situation,
00:09:25.100 every other person is the right thing to do.
00:09:28.220 Holding yourself personally responsible
00:09:30.140 for what's wrong with society
00:09:31.580 and the world is an issue of character.
00:09:35.320 Okay?
00:09:35.660 And by the way,
00:09:36.580 that doesn't mean that some things in society 0.98
00:09:38.560 aren't genuinely fucked up because they are. 0.95
00:09:40.980 There are some people in the world 0.97
00:09:42.580 who are doing things that are morally wrong
00:09:44.760 and are straight up evil.
00:09:46.980 And sometimes we do need to step up
00:09:49.900 and say something or do something about that.
00:09:52.100 But just imagine this.
00:09:53.740 Imagine how many of the problems of society
00:09:56.780 and the world could be solved
00:09:58.780 if ultimately each one of us said,
00:10:01.600 what's wrong with the world today?
00:10:03.540 And answered with, I am.
00:10:05.420 I am.
00:10:23.320 I am.
00:10:24.060 I am.
00:10:24.560 I am.
