Summary

Pastor Artur Pawlowski was our first Fight the Fines case. After he received lockdown tickets for feeding the homeless outside in Calgary, Alberta, something the police called an "illegal gathering." Art continues to rack up tickets because he doesn't wear a mask when he does this outside. Art also doesn't limit his church service to the 15% of fire code required by the city, and the city hates him for it.

00:00:00.000 Welcome to Rebel Roundup, ladies and gentlemen, and the rest of you, in which we look back at
00:00:19.620 some of the very best commentaries of the week by your favorite rebels. I'm your host, David Menzies.
00:00:25.100 Well, the harassment of Calgary pastor Artur Poslowski by the police and by Alberta Health Services
00:00:32.800 just continues to intensify. And what since has Artur committed? Preaching the gospel? Feeding the homeless?
00:00:42.300 Well, these are indeed considered to be crimes against the state these days in Alberta. And our
00:00:48.140 newest rebel, Adam Seuss, has all the latest details. And speaking of Alberta Health Services,
00:00:55.360 the AHS Karens are now even harassing those who want to race their dirt bikes in the great outdoors
00:01:02.180 because this is allegedly a super spreader event. Sheila Gunn-Reed has all the nitty-gritty
00:01:09.420 on this latest AHS jihad. And letters, we get your letters. We get them every minute of every day.
00:01:16.300 And you had plenty to say about the anti-lockdown protest that took place last Saturday in Peterborough,
00:01:22.420 Ontario. Potty-mouthed Mayor Diane Therrien called this gathering a, quote,
00:01:28.200 travelling clown convention, end quote, while the keynote speakers Maxine Bernier and Randy Hillier
00:01:34.840 were given tickets by the Peterborough police for speaking in a public park.
00:01:40.800 Oh, there were plenty of clowns in Peterborough that day, folks. One was occupying the mayor's office
00:01:47.580 and the rest of the bozos were wearing police uniforms. Those are your rebels now. Let's round them up.
00:01:59.120 Rebels, we have an absolute emergency on our hands. We have another pastor in Alberta who could
00:02:05.460 potentially face jail time, just like Pastor James Coates of Grace Life Church. This pastor is known
00:02:11.800 to you. Actually, he's known to the whole world. Pastor Artur Pawlowski was our very first Fight the
00:02:18.060 Fines case after he received lockdown tickets for feeding the homeless outside in Calgary, Alberta,
00:02:24.180 something the police called an illegal gathering. Art continues to rack up tickets because he refuses
00:02:30.140 to stop feeding the homeless, and he doesn't wear a mask when he does this outside. Art also doesn't
00:02:36.220 limit his church service to the 15% of fire code required by the city, and the city hates him for it.
00:02:43.320 But Art's got an excellent lawyer named Sarah Miller, who is working for him at no cost to him
00:02:49.120 through our Rebel News Civil Liberties initiative, fightthefines.com. Today, we found out that Artur
00:02:56.320 needs Sarah's help now more than ever, which means that we need your help to pay for it all so Art can
00:03:02.660 do what he does, and that is take care of the least of our brothers here in Calgary. Friends, this is an
00:03:10.540 absolute five-alarm fire, and we need to save Artur. Here's what's happening. As you know, police visited
00:03:18.740 Art's church on Holy Saturday, and he cast them out, not allowing them to disrupt services. That video
00:03:25.820 went viral. Please get out. Get out of this property. Immediately get out. Get out of this
00:03:34.380 property. Immediately. Out. I don't want to hear anything. Out of this property. Immediately. I don't
00:03:39.980 want to hear a word. Out. Out. Out of this property. Immediately until you come back with a warrant. Out.
00:03:49.220 Out. Ouch. Even after that video embarrassed not only the province of Alberta's Alberta Health
00:03:55.780 Services, but also the city of Calgary police on an international scale, they came back. They're
00:04:02.980 out to show Art who's boss. Well, friends, we have a SWAT team in our church
00:04:11.540 again. Coming authorities. So I'm going to go out and see what they want.
00:04:20.100 Out. Yes. Hello, Walter. Hi, Arthur. I wonder if I can just give you a cup of
00:04:27.520 keys for the court order. This is for you. Basically outlines that we have the right to
00:04:35.200 answer today. At least explain the order, serve the order, and then we can stand at the
00:04:39.660 back. No, you can contact. No, no, no, no, no, no. You can contact my lawyer. Okay? My lawyer
00:04:44.600 takes care of this. I'm not interested to listen to any word you have to say. I do not cooperate
00:04:50.480 with the Gestapo. Remember when Art told the police to come back with a warrant? Well, they
00:04:55.480 did. A secret one obtained in secret, using secret evidence. Here's the warrant. We just
00:05:01.860 saw it today. It's an order which Alberta Health Services obtained without notice against
00:05:06.540 Arthur. It's their response to his get a warrant video from over Easter weekend. Immediately
00:05:12.020 until you come back with a warrant. Out. What this means is that an Alberta Health Services
00:05:17.040 Inspector will now be exempt from Section 176.2 of the Canadian Criminal Code, which prevents
00:05:24.280 the disruption of religious service in progress. So an Alberta Health Services Inspector will
00:05:29.820 be able to enter Arthur's Church and interrupt ongoing service. It's unbelievable, but it's true.
00:05:36.200 Sad but true, the province of Alberta is gunning for yet another church. But the question
00:05:42.000 arise, what do the authorities have against pastors preaching the gospel in the first place? And
00:05:49.640 what do the authorities have against a pastor feeding those who are down on their luck? Or
00:05:56.880 is Jason Kenney's Alberta now a place in which no good deed goes unpunished? And joining me now
00:06:04.840 with more on the plight of Arthur Pawlowski is Adam Seuss. How are you doing there, Adam?
00:06:10.420 Good. Thanks for having me. How are you doing?
00:06:12.720 I'm doing great, my friend. So Adam, correct me if I'm wrong here, but when Premier
00:06:18.060 Kenney was an MP in the Harper government, he was all about religious freedom. So what,
00:06:24.660 pray tell, has changed? Because it seems to me that various government agencies and the Calgary
00:06:31.060 police are pursuing a bizarre vendetta against Arthur.
00:06:35.240 Yeah, it's a really good question. And, and it's hard to really ground it because that was
00:06:40.500 something he was so particularly passionate about. And I think it all goes back to this
00:06:45.040 thing. And I've mentioned it a few times, but conservative candidates with their, with
00:06:49.120 their conservative leadership, they're just afraid of losing right now. So even if they have
00:06:53.860 a longstanding conviction that they're firmly planted on, if they feel that it might be unpopular,
00:06:59.400 might be criticized by the CBC, might be criticized by the NDP, they're very quick to roll over on those
00:07:06.040 convictions. And it's an unfortunate situation.
00:07:08.600 You know, I think you're absolutely right about that, Adam. I think if we were to reach out to
00:07:15.140 Jason Kenney's base, they would be all about religious freedom and all kinds of freedom. It doesn't
00:07:21.700 even have to be religious. So it seems to be, to be a very awkward strategy. It's almost as though
00:07:31.000 Premier Kenney is reaching out, you know, to the, as, as our boss Ezra likes to call them,
00:07:36.240 the mean girls in the media party saying, look what I'm doing. I'm shutting down these churches.
00:07:42.080 I'm shutting down these mass gatherings, but these people are never going to vote for Kenney in the
00:07:47.320 first place. So why pursue this flawed strategy? Well, I think part of it is, is when they look
00:07:53.460 at polls and we know polls aren't working lately, very effectively, but they, they figure that people
00:07:59.580 who are supporting them, there's no one, it's kind of like an abusive relationship. He's like, well,
00:08:02.700 who else are you going to vote for? I mean, um, I have you as my base anyways. And if I shove you
00:08:07.220 around a little bit or don't represent what you want, you're still going to vote for me, but we need
00:08:11.460 to win a few of these people over. So I think there's that pragmatic sort of consideration for trying to
00:08:16.820 make sure they don't lose too much of the vote, but that it's just a self-defeatist policy. Um,
00:08:21.900 because if you do that on every issue, you end up compromising your entire, entire base. We've seen
00:08:27.280 this repeatedly in Alberta and what ends up happening is the party fractures, a new party forms, everyone
00:08:33.320 gets on board with that party. It becomes a new party. And for a couple of years, it's principled
00:08:37.020 and conservative. And then the same things start happening. The CBC, NDP, opposing forces, um, general,
00:08:43.360 uh, political correctness in society, start prying away at the new party. And eventually we wind up,
00:08:47.940 we wind up in the exact same situation we were in, in the first place.
00:08:51.140 Oh, I think you're right, Adam. I think, uh, Premier Kenney is playing with fire here. He might be
00:08:56.700 contributing to the perfect storm that results in Rachel Notley regaining power as a nightmarish as
00:09:05.060 that sounds. But, um, the other thing about this too, Adam is, is the optics look so brutal in the two
00:09:11.780 video clips we showed, uh, including the infamous one of Archer yelling, get out, get out. That went
00:09:19.220 viral around the world. Why is it that a half a dozen Calgary police, armed police, and I believe
00:09:26.820 these are the, uh, usually the cops that are on the gang, uh, patrol. Why are they being dispatched,
00:09:33.420 uh, to, uh, enforce these Alberta health services, uh, mandates when there's absolutely no evidence of,
00:09:40.880 uh, Archer or his flock being violent in the first place?
00:09:44.760 And I mean, and that's, that's exactly it. He, he, that what it took to get him to the point of
00:09:49.240 that video. Um, I'm not going to pretend that Archer is milquetoast even for a second. He's a
00:09:53.800 principled conservative, uh, Christian who sticks by his orthodox biblical values. Um, and he will
00:09:59.120 continue to, but he, in equal measure, uh, extends charity and love uncompromisingly. He's out on the
00:10:05.460 streets every week, feeding people, getting people jobs, reaching out to those who are most
00:10:09.600 vulnerable in our society. Um, so he's a poster child for charity and outreach. The thing that
00:10:17.020 the government, that AHS, Alberta health services, that the police don't like about him and don't
00:10:21.500 like about anyone outspoken. We've seen numerous cases here in Alberta. They go after people who
00:10:26.300 publicly oppose these orders or who are seen as publicly resisting. Now, many of these people are
00:10:31.940 not making political statements overtly. They're saying, no, I'm not closing or no. It's as though they
00:10:37.120 believe that homeless hunger is going to stop because they've instituted a lockdown. That's
00:10:42.180 not how it works. And Pastor Poloski refuses to stop caring for those people who need care
00:10:46.940 on the most serious level. But it's his verbal opposition to what they're saying. I can tell you
00:10:52.920 firsthand from numerous experiences, many people who are pro lockdown and will publicly tweet about
00:10:58.080 this. Once you talk to them, they're saying they're getting together with their families.
00:11:01.740 They're having their kids in from out of town. They're, they're doing these vacations,
00:11:05.340 but publicly they're not opposing it. So they're going along with the orders publicly. Privately,
00:11:10.780 it's quite different. So it seems that Alberta health services, the government of Alberta,
00:11:14.700 absolutely is coming down on people who, who seek to make a point in opposition intentionally.
00:11:21.140 And Adam, just to go back to something you said there, the idea of Ardor going out and feeding
00:11:27.180 homeless people that actually need this service, you know, I'm trying to make sense of the baffling
00:11:34.040 logic of shutting that down. Yes, it's a possibility you could contract the Wuhan virus and get sick or
00:11:41.120 even die, God forbid. But 100%, if you don't eat, you will die of starvation. So why come down on
00:11:50.620 somebody that is providing the absolute bare essentials of life?
00:11:56.300 And I think that there is history. For those who don't know, Pastor Archer Palowski was one of the
00:12:03.120 first people arrested in Canada, simply for reading the Bible publicly. And interestingly
00:12:08.160 enough, and I plan to investigate this, the same judge has signed off on numerous of these orders. So
00:12:13.540 the original arrest order, as well as the latest troubling warrant, which we've covered and has garnered
00:12:19.220 quite a bit of attention, where section 276.2 of the criminal code, where worship cannot be
00:12:25.340 interrupted, has been waived, so they can go get the pastor whenever they want. So there, it's, I mean,
00:12:31.780 it's an extremely good question. But there seems to be some sort of internal dialogue that we have to
00:12:38.400 get this guy. And one last thing before we wrap, Adam, that section 276 that you just referred to,
00:12:45.620 somehow Alberta Health Services was able to get a court order, presumably from a judge who thought it was
00:12:52.860 a good idea to trump our constitutional rights. What was that judge thinking, do you presume?
00:13:00.160 I mean, I don't know what to presume. I can't, I can't, I can't speak to it from an authoritative or
00:13:05.860 legal purpose. I know that I spoke with a lawyer the other day, and that they said overtly, as a
00:13:11.620 lawyer, that they almost can't do anything right now. The court systems aren't working. The courts,
00:13:16.520 they aren't standing up for the charter rights. They aren't standing up for our rights and freedoms,
00:13:20.580 which is one of the fundamental responsibilities of a court. What they're doing is just bowing and
00:13:24.920 kowtowing to the government because they're afraid of repercussions if they don't go. And that's not
00:13:30.240 how the legal system works. The judges bow to the charter of rights and freedoms. All laws are sort
00:13:36.640 of subservient to the Canadian charter of rights and freedoms. That doesn't work if judges are
00:13:41.480 submitting to government officials, unelected government officials at that.
00:13:45.320 Well, Arthur, Adam, we're going to have to wrap it there. I think whether it's Arthur's case in
00:13:53.000 Calgary or Grace Life in the Edmonton area, at the end of the day, the buck stops at Jason Kenney's
00:14:00.520 desk. But he seems to be all in in this kind of harassment and an intimidation. That's what it is,
00:14:07.780 as far as I can tell. And I think it's shameful. And I think it goes against everything he stood for,
00:14:12.880 going back to when he was an MP in the Harper administration. But thank you so much for these
00:14:19.140 stories, Adam. And I know there's more to come. And hopefully there is going to be a happy ending
00:14:24.420 in the days ahead.
00:14:26.260 Certainly hope so. Thanks so much for having me on.
00:14:28.040 You got it. And that was Adam Seuss, folks, in Calgary. Keep it here. More of Rebel Roundup to come
00:14:34.020 up right after this.
00:14:40.280 Sheila Gunn-Reed for Rebel News here at Cold Trail Motocross Park. Yeah, this is one of those Rebel
00:14:45.200 assignments where I stop and reflect on just how lucky I am to have this job because I love
00:14:52.560 motocross, particularly little kids' motocross, like the really, really little ones. It's one of my
00:14:58.200 favorite things ever. Little kids on dirt bikes. Now, Cold Trail Motocross is just south of
00:15:04.080 Hardesty, Alberta, the east-central Alberta town that's home to the Tank Farm for the now-cancelled
00:15:10.500 by Joe Biden Keystone XL Pipeline. This is a deeply conservative area. Now, owner of the
00:15:17.600 motocross park here, Emily Clausen, and her husband, Kelly, have decided that enough is enough.
00:15:23.040 And they've closely examined the rules surrounding amateur sports and the enforcement of those
00:15:30.820 rules by Alberta Health Services. And get this, kids' sports can be open for practice, but not
00:15:38.040 competition. So, if you keep track of winners and losers, somehow the coronavirus is going to
00:15:45.400 get you and kill you. But if everybody gets a participation ribbon, or if you call it a practice,
00:15:51.260 apparently the coronavirus knows all of that and will leave you alone. It looks like it's a busy
00:15:57.500 weekend here at Cold Trail. Emily tells me that there are 300 different entries here, and there
00:16:05.380 are spectators here from as far away as Edmonton and Calgary. I don't know if police will consider
00:16:11.840 this an illegal gathering of more than 10 people outdoors, as are the current rules here in Alberta
00:16:18.620 regarding the lockdown. I did see two RCMP cars when I turned off the main road, and a third car was
00:16:26.520 there with what looks to be an Alberta Health Services inspector in it. If those guys plan on
00:16:31.760 busting up this completely outdoor event, I think they're going to have their work cut out for them.
00:16:36.660 So, I'm going to talk to Emily and Kelly and some of the participants and spectators,
00:16:42.140 see what they have to say about the lockdown on motocross and I guess on amateur sport in general.
00:16:49.920 Anyway, let's go check it out. So, Emily and Kelly, you guys own Cold Trail Motorsports Park here,
00:16:57.380 and I guess what you're doing here is somewhat defiant of the lockdown. Explain what limitations
00:17:05.400 that are placed on you to hold this event here. So, we are open for riding, for practice. We're able
00:17:14.140 to run ride schools. We had a race booked for the weekend. Racing is not permitted, so we're open for
00:17:21.940 practice. We're practicing racing. We want to get riders out, families out, people out, seeing each other,
00:17:29.640 the fresh air, just out in the open, on your bike, being active. Motocross is one of the most enduring
00:17:37.020 physical sports there is and there's no healthier thing to be doing than working out, being outdoors,
00:17:43.300 vitamin D, sunshine, enjoying it with your family. Now, Kelly, Emily drove home the point that this is
00:17:51.760 a practice because that's one of the most ridiculous parts of the rules placed on you guys here is that
00:17:57.680 you can practice, but you can't compete. Yeah, that's correct. We read it as as long as you
00:18:04.620 identify as non-competitive, then you can practice and then you're not competing. Ah, the great outdoors,
00:18:10.620 vitamin D galore, having fun in the sun while racing dirt bikes. Oops, I mean practicing racing dirt bikes.
00:18:17.840 What's not to love? But alas, the unelected, non-accountable, bully bureaucrats at Alberta Health
00:18:24.060 Services are apparently taking a dim view of motocross events these days. Somehow, someway,
00:18:31.320 young, healthy people having fun outdoors as a super spreader event. But where, oh where,
00:18:38.420 is the science that supports such a preposterous proposition? Because that's what's driving all
00:18:45.440 these lockdown decisions these days, right folks? Science. Or is it weird science? And joining me now
00:18:53.120 regarding the war on motocross in Alberta is Sheila Gunn-Reed. How you doing there, Sheila?
00:18:59.080 Hey David, thanks for having me on the show. Always a pleasure. So Sheila, to me it comes down to this,
00:19:04.820 the vast majority of the Wuhan virus deaths are seniors residing in long-term care facilities.
00:19:12.660 So please, how in the world does shutting down an outdoor dirt bike track do anything positive
00:19:20.660 to improve that gruesome situation? An outdoor dirt bike track in the middle of nowhere.
00:19:30.740 Dozens of acres. And the people who come, they bring their own travel trailers, motorhomes,
00:19:38.520 whatever. So they don't even really like, it's like having your own pod. When you go to these places,
00:19:45.000 the kids are in full motocross gear. So chest protectors, pants, shirts, boots, gloves, helmet,
00:19:55.080 goggles. They don't even look like little humans. They look like little robots, cute little robots.
00:20:00.240 But I mean, they're, they're pretty well bubble wrapped. And yet somehow this is not permissible,
00:20:06.960 but taking your kids to the Walmart to buy a game with 500 strangers,
00:20:11.080 where you can go home and pretend like you're on a motocross track. That's perfectly fine. None of it
00:20:17.080 makes any sense, especially this idea that you can have a practice, but you can't keep track of the
00:20:23.880 score or the times. How does that make COVID more or less deadly if you keep track of winners and losers?
00:20:33.340 No, you know, Sheila, you make a really good point there. The motocross people were way ahead of the
00:20:38.420 curve when it came to PPE, not about not getting a virus, but it's all about not having your skull
00:20:45.380 cracked open if you crash. So, but nevertheless, you're right. I mean, how, given all the protection
00:20:53.160 they wear, that is an added layer. How, what, who is driving these crazy decisions?
00:21:00.060 Well, I think it comes down to, um, Alberta health services being real sticklers and not being adaptive
00:21:10.860 and having common sense. Like they literally are following the letter of the law when they say,
00:21:18.940 okay, well you can't have competition. So I guess that means, okay, if you're going to the basketball
00:21:24.840 court, kids can shoot hoops as long as they're not banging into each other in a game. Well, that makes
00:21:33.420 sense, I guess, if you want to avoid physical contact to prevent transmission. But how, how does
00:21:41.060 that make any sense when it applies to motocross or rodeo or whatever? I mean, they're following the
00:21:47.740 letter of the law, but not the spirit of the law. And you know, these government workers want me to
00:21:53.720 believe that they aren't a bunch of mindless drones, but they've got to quit acting like them
00:21:58.040 then. No, you're absolutely right, Shailene. And, and I hearken back to what's going on here in
00:22:03.620 Ontario. When it comes to the ultimate non-contact sport in the great outdoors, it's got to be golf,
00:22:11.980 right? Um, you know, there's no body checking, there's no incidental contact that you might have
00:22:17.080 in basketball. And earlier this week, uh, Ireland rescinded its golf ban. So get a load of this,
00:22:23.520 Sheila. Ontario, as I understand it, is the only jurisdiction on the planet where golf is banned.
00:22:29.480 Now, why is the Wuhan virus so, um, mad at Ontario golfers and not the golfers of all the other
00:22:36.880 countries the world over? Again, I can't make sense of this. David, you must follow the science. And
00:22:44.040 the science says that the Wuhan virus, it's especially out after 8 PM in Quebec, um, because of their
00:22:52.860 curfew. But here in Alberta, in the case of pastor Art Poloski, um, the police can enter his church
00:23:01.640 according to their new warrant between 8 AM and 8 PM to inspect for compliance with COVID regulations.
00:23:08.320 But after eight o'clock, well, I guess it's a free for all. The virus doesn't get you in Alberta,
00:23:13.660 um, after eight, that's fine. But in Quebec, it does. It doesn't get you in Walmart or Costco,
00:23:21.340 but it'll get you outdoor at the motocross track. Um, you can't go to the archery lane and stand in
00:23:28.680 your own lane and shoot your own arrows, but you can have the guy who runs the archery shop, come put
00:23:35.600 his hands on your shoulder, show you how to draw, adjust your bow, touch your arrows. Um, that's fine
00:23:42.460 because it's one-on-one training, but you can't use the archery lanes alone because science.
00:23:48.020 Well, you know, um, we've settled the science argument. I think, uh, Sheila, let's talk about
00:23:53.320 the strategy of this motocross track, which I kind of love. It's the idea of saying to the officials,
00:23:59.380 well, this, there's no racing going on here. We're just practicing racing. You see,
00:24:03.420 which to the naked eye looks like racing, uh, to me, Sheila, and don't get me wrong. I'm glad
00:24:10.920 they can dodge any kind of shutdown order, uh, via a loophole for lack of a better term of word. But
00:24:17.740 I just wonder, will the authorities accept this? Um, and I think of Alicia Herter of Chrome Artistic
00:24:26.240 Barbering in St. Catharines, who re-imagined her barbershop, Sheila, as a film production studio.
00:24:32.420 And initially got the blessing of bylaw at the city, but that quickly turned. And now the trouble
00:24:39.840 and the fines, I mean, they are trying to ruin this woman's life as far as I'm concerned.
00:24:46.400 Do you see something similar happening here that maybe they're accepting this is practice racing as
00:24:51.940 opposed to racing, racing? Uh, but they might take a different tack and say, no, we're not buying it
00:24:58.360 anymore. You shut down or else. Oh, David, we're already there. Um, I heard from, uh, Emily
00:25:06.220 Clausen yesterday and Alberta health services has issued an order to her in executive order
00:25:13.100 saying that she has to, um, not have more than 10 people in the facility. Now, what does that mean?
00:25:21.680 Does it mean on the track at one time so that the people can't wait at their trailers, at their
00:25:27.340 campers, whatever? Um, and so they've already said, if you don't limit this to 10 people,
00:25:36.740 I don't know if that means on the track or what they are not clear because they don't understand
00:25:41.240 motocross. Um, but they've already, they've already positioned themselves to issue her closure
00:25:49.020 notice and a fine if she doesn't comply. Unbelievable. I had a feeling, uh, this was eminent,
00:25:56.460 Sheila. Uh, one last question. You know, one thing I've really despised about so many of these
00:26:03.500 health bureaucrats during the pandemic is that they are unelected. They are non-accountable.
00:26:10.940 And as is the case with Alicia Herter and St. Catharines or this motocross track in Alberta,
00:26:16.340 they tend to change the rules in the bottom of the ninth inning to serve their agenda. When all this
00:26:22.700 is over, I think we have to have a reckoning, Sheila, when the dust settles and the smoke clears,
00:26:27.760 we have to find a way in which this never happens again, that such unelected, non-accountable people
00:26:35.260 get to mandate how we live our lives. Yeah. Uh, as far as Alberta health services there,
00:26:42.820 at least their health inspector department is concerned, I think everybody should be fired
00:26:47.420 and then the good ones rehired. Um, because their tendency towards authoritarianism during this pandemic
00:26:57.640 has been absolutely on full display, uh, the ease and speed with which they move to ruin people's
00:27:07.340 lives speaks to the kind of people that a lot of them are. Um, it's just been heartless or they'll
00:27:15.640 say like in the instance of a wild archery, I understand, I understand the health inspector said
00:27:22.200 to Justin at wild archery because I haven't been able to go to the gym either. And Justin's like,
00:27:28.980 you're going to close my business. Don't ever compare that to the fact that you're inconvenienced
00:27:33.700 and can't go to the gym because you don't want to go in the treadmill in your basement.
00:27:36.640 Like they don't understand they're out of touch. They haven't lost a day's pay. Actually,
00:27:42.740 they've all gotten raises while they go around from place to place and ruin people's lives at their
00:27:49.120 darkest hour. When they're the most desperate, the government comes in to destroy your life. I hope
00:27:54.700 they are all laid off for two weeks without any sort of pay so they can feel a little bit of the
00:28:01.860 pain that they inflict on people. And then only the good ones hired back. You're so right, Sheila.
00:28:07.200 They ruin people's lives, but they don't ruin the lives of themselves. They're, they're ill.
00:28:12.800 No government and the bureaucracy has been absolutely immune to this virus. They don't
00:28:19.700 have to worry about vaccinating up when it comes to their freedoms and their paychecks. What a
00:28:25.440 disgrace considering, especially Sheila, since we pay their salaries, they should be our servants,
00:28:32.660 but clearly that's not the issue. And please folks never say that phrase ever again. We're all in
00:28:39.860 this together. Clearly that is not the case. Sheila, thank you so much. You have a great weekend,
00:28:44.380 my friend. I will, David. And if anybody is considering opening their business in defiance
00:28:50.440 of the lockdowns, especially, you know what? Rodeos, archery lanes, gun stores, the places I like to
00:28:57.340 frequent motocross tracks, do reach out to us at iwillopen.com and I'll come out and tell your story.
00:29:04.760 Wow. And there are few journalists that can tell it any better than our own Sheila Gunn-Reed folks.
00:29:09.620 So thanks again, Sheila. Have a great weekend. Thanks, David.
00:29:13.480 And that was Sheila Gunn-Reed somewhere in the northern hinterland of Alberta. Keep it here.
00:29:19.020 More of Rebel Roundup to come right after this.
00:29:21.140 Back up. No, no, no, no. Go back into your speeches.
00:29:33.500 Boo, you. You don't be lying to me. You don't be lying to me.
00:29:36.600 Back up.
00:29:37.140 I'm going back. I'm going back.
00:29:38.340 You can send the back office and leave the birth.
00:29:40.120 Nobody should fear government in a free country.
00:29:44.220 Why are you not going to go that way?
00:29:46.080 Because it's a public part.
00:29:47.240 Because we're...
00:29:47.660 This is a public part.
00:29:49.200 That's right. It's a public part.
00:29:53.440 Will they make their kids live in the gulag of fear that they're instilling or trying to?
00:30:02.780 Will they?
00:30:04.580 Or will they have a backbone?
00:30:06.500 Will they have some gumption?
00:30:08.020 Will they have principles?
00:30:09.240 will they have any conviction to their oath of office I don't want a society
00:30:20.520 show me your papers trying to intimidate us barricading the roads trying to
00:30:36.360 block people from coming in and showing their opposition to this de facto police state that
00:30:45.980 Ontario is in
00:30:47.040 David Menzies for Rebel News here in Peterborough Ontario well I can tell you folks there's about
00:31:04.580 1200 people gathering here for an anti-lockdown demonstration the keynote speakers are Maxime
00:31:12.780 Bernier of the People's Party of Canada and Randy Hillier an MPP who used to be part of Doug Ford's
00:31:21.000 caucus until he was booted out for essentially speaking his mind well I can tell you not
00:31:28.640 everybody is happy about the event happening in the park today case in point Mayor Diane Therrien
00:31:36.220 yesterday she tweeted this out quote hey Randy Hillier and Maxime Bernier I know you boys are
00:31:44.440 bored but stay TF home end quote wow really wonderful parliamentary language by Mayor Therrien
00:31:54.060 there and she doubled down she later tweeted out quote the traveling clown convention isn't welcome
00:32:02.740 here end quote so how do you like that folks people gathering in a public park standing up for
00:32:08.760 their right to assemble their right to free speech are being likened to a bunch of Ronald McDonald's
00:32:16.380 and Pennywise's uh that is outrageous I am not a clown uh I'm actually a veteran I think I should be
00:32:24.960 allowed to come here uh 24 7. what about yourself ma'am are you a clown no I'm not a clown and I'm all for
00:32:33.200 freedom and I want freedom for my grandchildren this means so much I think about veterans that gave up
00:32:40.280 their lives fighting for this country and we're all willing to roll over so easily not me well what a
00:32:47.500 raucous occasion that unfolded in little Peterborough Ontario last Saturday first the city's potty mouth
00:32:53.640 mayor likened Maxime Bernier and Randy Hillier and those who chose to exercise their constitutional rights
00:33:00.860 as being members of a quote traveling clown convention end quote and then the cops made sure to ticket
00:33:08.180 Mr. Bernier and Mr. Hillier when they left the park which was odd because last summer these very
00:33:15.440 same cops in this very same park didn't ticket any Black Lives Matter demonstrators oh no on the
00:33:22.780 contrary the Peterborough police including the chief actually bent the knee in solidarity with the
00:33:28.860 protesters wow so I guess when it comes to being a bozo in Peterborough it all boils down to what issue
00:33:36.400 you're protesting if you're a racial justice protester you're a cherished social justice warrior if you
00:33:43.680 have a contrary opinion to lockdowns that are doing so much damage and ruining so many lives well
00:33:48.980 you're the second coming of Ronald McDonald unbelievable in any event you had plenty to say
00:33:56.000 about the hypocrisy on display in Peterborough that day not to mention the disrespect the mayor and her
00:34:02.080 armed minions showed to the demonstrators pop shop kid right sadly authoritarianism is firmly planted in
00:34:10.380 Canada and the Peterborough mayor is disgusting to call names like that I guess she likes a dictatorship
00:34:16.300 well pop shop kid when an elected MPP like Randy Hillier is given tickets for merely speaking in a
00:34:24.300 public park yeah I'm sure it kind of feels like people who are running Peterborough are embracing
00:34:31.320 dictatorship and a tin pot one at that James Ball Bell rather writes nobody in a free country should
00:34:39.800 live in fear of their government oh I agree James but the fear factor is off the charts these days
00:34:45.840 and if fear doesn't work then how about those hefty fines in many respects Canada is unrecognizable
00:34:52.700 these days compared to what existed prior to the pandemic and I think this attack on our freedoms
00:34:59.360 is truly the real virus Anna writes quote I am a Canadian free to speak without fear free to worship
00:35:06.780 in my own way free to stand for what I think right free to oppose what I believe wrong or free to choose
00:35:13.180 those who shall govern my country this heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all my
00:35:20.320 mankind end quote John G Diefenbaker profound words indeed can anyone out there imagine Aaron O'Toole
00:35:28.180 saying something that comes even remotely close to this I sure can't smooth cynical writes just
00:35:37.000 remember Canada if all was already lost there would be no need for the constant propaganda keep fighting
00:35:43.780 keep gathering keep the pressure on if we don't stand for something we'll fall for everything well said
00:35:50.880 smooth cynical and hope as always abounds Patricia Bayer writes bloody lying government they have no right
00:35:59.360 to our tax dollars if we don't have our rights as Canadian citizens real Canadian citizens yes Patricia
00:36:07.280 and Mayor Therian needs to take note here those tax-paying citizens she labeled as clowns are the people
00:36:15.660 who are actually paying her salary and by the way I don't think Mayor F-bomb has ever lost a single
00:36:22.840 day's pay during this pandemic so yet again so much for the biggest lie of the past 13 months
00:36:29.300 namely we're all in this together Alana Maronic writes outside in the sunshine and the fresh air
00:36:38.260 is the last place you'll catch any virus these police should be ashamed of themselves indeed and I'd
00:36:45.520 really like to know why it was okay for the police to join a BLM protest last summer but somehow an
00:36:51.800 anti-lockdown protest is a super spreader event please Chief Scott Gilbert explain the science on this
00:36:59.200 one I did reach out to your media office by the way with questions and I have yet to hear back
00:37:04.860 I think that's called cowardice and Henreka writes the Peterborough police has lost its mind
00:37:11.660 this is political persecution ticketing an elected politician while speaking for freedom
00:37:17.840 it does not get any worse the chief of police ought to resign or be removed from his post unfortunately
00:37:25.720 Henreka that's not going to happen in fact given the delusional mindset of Peterborough's mayor
00:37:31.220 I wouldn't be surprised if Chief Gilbert gets a raise for his behavior because that's how they roll
00:37:39.140 in cities in which a woke joke mayor sits in the office well that wraps up another edition of
00:37:46.920 Rebel Roundup thanks so much for joining us see you next week and hey folks never forget
00:37:50.800 without risk there can be no glory good night
