00:02:08.120 on Syria. Let me show you what it said. As of August 31st, just a few weeks ago, 1.8 million

00:02:15.880 Syrians have gone home from the neighboring countries. And another 2 million who were

00:02:21.240 displaced inside Syria have gone back to their town. So almost 4 million people in 21 months

00:02:27.800 have gone home. Now, where are they coming from? Mostly Turkey, about 640,000 by the end of April,

00:02:35.160 according to the UN. Erdogan says 600,000 in 2025 alone. Then Lebanon, about a third. Then

00:02:41.960 Jordan, about a fifth of them. The poor countries, the countries next door, the ones that took in 1.00

00:02:46.680 millions with no welfare state to speak of. Now look for Europe on that chart. Look for Germany.

00:02:51.940 Look for Canada. You won't find them. The UN doesn't even bother with a line for us. 0.58

00:02:57.020 Here's the German number. There are 940,000 Syrian citizens living in Germany. It's astonishing.

00:04:04.500 8% of the women. More than half spoke neither English nor French. Obviously, they speak Arabic.

00:04:09.900 And years later, StatCan tracked the government-assisted refugees, the cohort that came in 2016. Four years on, 70% were still on social assistance. Not on their feet, they were on welfare.

00:08:23.660 Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Refugee protection ceases when, quote, the reasons for

00:08:29.520 which the person sought refugee protection have ceased to exist they're not refugees anymore

00:08:34.820 legally they are not refugees anymore the reason in the first place was Bashar Assad Assad is gone

00:08:41.780 the reason was a civil war the war is over the reason was Syria was a pariah state its president

00:08:48.340 was just at the UN now the UN refugee agency doesn't want to hear this and may have put out

00:09:17.260 stood next to al-Sharah in Berlin in March and said, 8 out of 10 Syrians in Germany should go

00:09:23.640 back over the next three years. 8 out of 10. That's the German middle-of-the-road chancellor.

00:09:29.640 That's not the alternative for Deutschland right-wing party. And Germany is slowly doing it.

00:09:34.960 Its refugee office reviewed 8,320 Syrian protection files in the first half of this year and revoked

00:09:42.840 23% of them. Now, new Syrian asylum claims, 95% are rejected. They started deporting criminals

00:09:51.900 and they pay for the flight and gave a startup grant if you go on your own. Austria started a

00:09:58.460 thousand euros in December 24, now up to 3,000 euros a person to go home. By the way, that's

00:10:04.720 like a year's income in Syria. They reviewed 13,000 Syrian files and canceled or cut 4,400 of

00:10:11.840 them. They did the first deportations of Syrians in the EU last July. In the United States, Trump

00:10:18.700 ended temporary protected status for Syrians a year ago, 60 days to leave, and the DHS pays a

00:10:25.120 stipend and the airfare to anyone who self-deports through its app. Is it popular? Well, in Germany,

00:10:32.540 61% of Germans say the Syrians should go home. And amongst Syrians in the region,

00:10:39.520 the UN's own surveys say more than 80% want to go back. Not forced, they want to.

00:10:43.320 well what about canada we took in more than a hundred thousand syrians since 2015

00:12:30.960 to get reestablished. Bring that back. Make it generous. Austria is paying 3,000 euros. That's

00:12:38.000 like 5,000 Canadian dollars. A plane ticket and five grand is a lot cheaper than a lifetime of

00:12:44.560 welfare in Mississauga or Montreal. Number three, stop the intake. Stop taking new Syrian refugee

00:25:27.040 a lawyer because you paid for one. That's why Danny asked me through Tommy tonight. He saw what

00:25:34.100 you did for Tommy and he asked if we would do it for him. And I said, yeah, I'd help. Of course I

00:25:39.760 would. I've reached out tonight to a very senior criminal lawyer in London. It's after midnight

00:25:45.420 over there. I'm working on it through the night. First thing tomorrow, Danny's police interview

00:25:50.180 and bail. I'll be honest with you. I don't know what it's going to cost. I didn't know with Tommy
