00:00:00.000 Hello, my friends. Tonight is the Alberta referendum. Sheila Gunn-Reed and I will be
00:00:04.880 having a live stream about it on rebelnews.com. But in the meantime, there's a video I've been
00:00:09.800 meaning to do for you about Marco Rubio's speech in Athens the other day. I just haven't had a
00:00:15.800 chance to air it because there was always such hot news I wanted to talk about. Well, since we're
00:00:20.240 waiting for the referendum news, I thought this is a perfect time to show you a pretty great video
00:00:25.080 by Marco Rubio.
00:00:26.820 And I'll give you my thoughts on it.
00:00:29.060 I want you to see it from him
00:00:30.940 because I know you haven't seen it from the CBC.
00:00:33.820 They just wouldn't air something like this.
00:00:36.320 That's why I want you to get the video version
00:00:37.800 of this podcast.
00:00:38.560 Go to rebelnewsplus.com.
00:00:41.280 It's eight bucks a month.
00:00:43.120 Might not sound like a lot of money to you,
00:00:44.600 but boy, that adds up for us.
00:00:46.000 That's how we pay the bills around here
00:00:47.300 because we take no money from the government
00:00:48.780 and it shows.
00:00:49.660 Just go to rebelnewsplus.com.
00:00:55.080 Tonight, Marco Rubio stood beneath the Acropolis and told the West to stop apologizing for
00:01:15.340 itself. I'll show you the clips because I'm pretty sure the CBC didn't. He gave the speech
00:01:20.000 two weeks ago. And in those two weeks, Canada has made his point for him. It's October 19th,
00:01:26.080 and this is the Ezra LeVant Show. He took a look at this. That hill is called the Penix.
00:01:45.440 if I'm saying it right. It's a Greek word. That's where the citizens of Athens met in assembly
00:01:50.840 2,500 years ago, the first parliament in the world, more or less, behind him, the Parthenon.
00:01:56.320 At the lectern, the American Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, giving a speech
00:01:59.640 no Canadian prime minister in my lifetime would dare to give. The headline was,
00:02:05.240 Rubio tells Europe to awaken from its long slumber. True, but I think that undersells it a bit. It's
00:02:12.840 a 3,500-word speech, there's not a single apology in it. There's not one land acknowledgement.
00:02:20.100 And it isn't really even about Greece or really even about Europe. I think he's talking about
00:02:24.800 the Western world, which is a mindset. I think he's talking about Canada.
00:02:29.700 So tonight, while we wait for the Alberta referendum results to come in, by the way,
00:02:33.980 Sheila Gunn-Reed and I will be co-hosting a referendum night live stream. I'm going to play
00:02:39.440 you a number of Rubio's clips, more than a dozen clips from his speech, short comments from me in
00:02:47.160 between. I really want you to hear him say it. Sometimes there's amazing speeches by world
00:02:53.900 leaders that I just know that either the CBC doesn't want you to hear it, or they wouldn't
00:02:59.340 even think it's newsworthy. I think you should hear him say it himself. I think this man,
00:03:03.720 And he could be the next president.
00:03:07.000 If not, he's young enough to be the president after that.
00:03:09.680 I hope so.
00:03:11.320 The last time Rubio gave a speech like this one, he was in Munich, Germany, in February.
00:03:18.380 And Mark Carney attacked the speech as Christian nationalism.
00:03:25.060 So let's see what offends Mark Carney this time.
00:03:28.140 Let's get started.
00:03:28.960 Take a look.
00:03:33.720 And because of 50 and 80 people
00:03:41.880 at home, for example that you get
00:03:44.120 back to this shop, you sell on like
00:03:46.940 your house, your house stay by 0.98
00:03:47.940 Brasilians within 15 hours and
00:03:50.740 Ellen and beautiful she has LETTER 0.91
00:03:56.100 that mutation is about the 0.98
00:03:58.680 thing about technologies similar
00:04:01.480 Thank you.
00:04:31.480 They came home to rubble, buried the rubble, and built something bigger on top of it.
00:04:38.160 Keep that in mind.
00:04:38.860 In Canada, we have the opposite instinct.
00:04:40.740 We find something still standing, and we knock it down.
00:04:43.820 I'll get to that in a moment.
00:04:45.040 Here's the next clip.
00:05:01.480 Thank you.
00:05:31.480 now rubio is the son of cuban immigrants his father tended the bar his mother cleaned hotel
00:05:43.080 rooms and here's their son in athens paying a debt to the west he joined something that's the
00:05:49.560 old deal with immigration how it used to be i think you come you inherit the civilization
00:05:54.180 you're proud of it you're part of it you melt into it you support it compare the man who ran
00:06:01.400 this country for 10 years, there is no core identity, no mainstream in Canada. That's
00:06:07.020 what he told the New York Times right when he was new as the Prime Minister, the first
00:06:11.900 post-national state, he called us. Rubio says there is a core identity, and it's 2,500 years
00:06:18.480 old, and he's proud to be its heir.
00:06:48.480 Thank you.
00:07:18.480 ambition risk glory adventure when did you last year canadian politician use
00:07:37.680 any of those words without a trigger warning um i don't know our constitutional maybe it's
00:07:45.400 not built for that. We promise peace, order, and good government. There's not a lot of glory
00:07:49.840 words there. You can hear the difference in temperament, can't you? Next clip.
00:08:15.400 Thank you very much.
00:08:45.400 there it is Jesus Christ Augustine Aquinas in his Munich speech in February Rubio mentioned
00:08:59.840 Christianity three times in a 22 minute speech here's what Mark Carney said about it three
00:09:05.080 days later in French so you may have missed it
00:09:07.640 There is an important point, I believe, between the Davos discourse,
00:09:14.640 one aspect of my comments in Quebec,
00:09:18.640 the discourse of Mr. Rubio in a week ago in Munich.
00:09:24.640 Mr. Rubio, he talked about, and the American administration
00:09:31.640 when we talk about the Christian nationalism, okay?
00:09:38.020 Okay, it's the right of the administration.
00:09:42.860 It's not the Canadian nationalism.
00:09:46.280 The Canadian nationalism is a civic nationalism.
00:09:50.000 The nationalism is respect to diverse cultures,
00:09:54.600 and sometimes divers, people who are not aware of all aspects of the diversity,
00:10:04.600 the great diversity of this beautiful country.
00:10:08.600 That is a very fundamental point.
00:10:11.600 We have different changes across the world,
00:10:14.600 the world is more dangerous and divided,
00:10:16.600 Mais il y a une lutte qui commence avec le nationalisme de saint et de foi de temps en temps, et le nationalisme canadien.
00:10:31.080 And it's important, yes, it's important to protect our country in terms of defense, but
00:10:38.360 it's more important to protect our system, our rights, and our system to respect all
00:10:48.980 people who live here.
00:10:51.160 Christian nationalism?
00:10:53.260 By the way, Carney is the prime minister of a country called Canada whose Charter of
00:10:57.680 Rights opens with the words, the supremacy of God.
00:11:00.700 And by the way, our head of state, the King Charles III, he is the head of the Church
00:11:05.680 of England.
00:11:06.880 Next clip.
00:11:30.700 We build downwards.
00:11:55.100 I mean, look out your window.
00:11:56.040 the OECD projects Canada will have the lowest growth in living standards of any economy of
00:12:02.740 earth all the way to 2060, dead last. How is that not depressing? The number two guy at the Bank of
00:12:09.840 Canada said in 2024, quote, it's an emergency. It's time to break the glass. Nobody broke the
00:12:15.480 glass. We just added more rules, more taxes, more Ottawa, hostage to the mediocre. So many people
00:12:20.880 who can are moving to the US. There's another brain drain going on. And you can see it with
00:12:26.840 your eyes. Look at the excitement with SpaceX and Tesla and AI. If you're an innovator,
00:12:33.480 where else would you want to be? Toronto?
00:12:50.880 ashamed embarrassed guilty he's talking to europeans but is there a country on earth that
00:13:06.800 fits that description better than us here in canada in 2019 justin trudeau stood up and said
00:13:14.920 this about our own country the national inquiry into missing and murdered indigenous women and
00:13:20.620 girls, formally presented their final report on Monday, in which they found that the tragic
00:13:26.820 violence against Indigenous women and girls amounts to genocide. Our government will work
00:13:33.680 with Indigenous partners on real and meaningful action as we review the inquiry's calls for
00:13:40.120 justice. Genocide. He won't even say that China is committing a genocide against the Uyghurs,
00:13:46.000 but he'll say we committed genocide the prime minister said that about canada no one has ever
00:13:51.020 apologized for more things on behalf of more dead people than justin trudeau he won't apologize for
00:13:57.000 himself let me make that clear he's not about humility or about showing any personal condition
00:14:02.700 he apologizes for other people as a form of virtue signaling um he's sort of signaling in fact that
00:14:09.280 the country as it is really hasn't earned the right to exist unless he himself was there to
00:14:16.740 perfect it. It was really creepy. Next clip.
00:14:39.920 Okay, let's go down that list.
00:14:41.520 Every item on it has a Canadian address.
00:14:43.580 Monuments, Sir John A. MacDonald, the man who built the country,
00:14:47.240 pulled down in Victoria, B.C. in 2018, toppled and beheaded in Montreal in 2020.
00:14:53.820 The head is still off.
00:14:55.000 The pedestal is still empty.
00:14:56.420 Removed in Kingston, his own hometown.
00:14:59.420 Removed in Charlottetown, where the country was born.
00:15:02.280 At Queen's Park in Toronto, they locked him in a plywood coffin for five years.
00:15:07.300 Egerton Ryerson, torn down, and then they renamed the whole university
00:15:10.960 so no one would have to say his name, 0.51
00:15:12.920 teaching our children to be ashamed of their country,
00:15:16.100 to be ashamed of themselves.
00:15:18.360 In 2021, at least 20 towns and cities canceled Canada Day.
00:15:22.120 They canceled it.
00:15:24.260 Open borders. 0.85
00:15:25.020 In 2023, our population grew by 1.27 million people in one year,
00:15:30.500 the fastest in memory.
00:15:32.200 By the fall of 2024, there were 3.15 million.
00:15:37.360 Temporary residents in the country, roughly one person in every 13 you see.
00:15:42.180 Outsourced industry, Stellantis, moved their Jeep Compass out of Brampton, Ontario,
00:15:47.000 sent it to Illinois last October.
00:15:48.860 3,000 workers gone.
00:15:50.880 GM shot the bright drop in Ingersoll, Ontario.
00:15:54.400 1,200 jobs gone.
00:15:56.040 GM killed the third shift in Oshawa.
00:15:57.780 500 jobs gone.
00:15:59.260 Sent the trucks to Indiana.
00:16:00.340 Algoma Steel, 1,000 layoff notices.
00:16:03.680 Our military is withering.
00:16:04.980 the Department of National Offense's own internal briefing,
00:16:07.220 the one the CBC got hold of,
00:16:08.840 only 58% of the forces we've promised to NATO
00:16:11.920 could actually respond.
00:16:14.480 More than half the Navy ships and the Air Force's planes
00:16:17.200 are unserviceable.
00:16:19.360 It's sort of a lie.
00:16:20.400 It's like Enron accounting.
00:16:21.980 You can put them on the books, but they do not fly.
00:16:25.820 Rubio never says the word Canada in his speech,
00:16:28.040 but I don't think he has to, does he?
00:16:30.320 Next clip.
00:16:34.980 A month ago, Ursa von der Leyen of the European Union proposed that Canada become the first
00:16:48.140 ever associate member of the EU.
00:16:50.640 The status that just doesn't exist in EU treaties, they would invent it for us.
00:16:55.700 The next day, Carney went to Strasbourg and said, Europe and Canada are stronger together.
00:17:01.820 Really?
00:17:02.820 They have a parliament that we don't elect,
00:17:05.240 a commission nobody elects.
00:17:07.520 It's an ocean away.
00:17:08.600 That's not sovereignty.
00:17:09.960 That's signing up to be another colony.
00:17:12.720 How's it different from being the 51st state?
00:17:15.300 And I tell you, they're not going to buy
00:17:16.460 the 1.1 million cars each year
00:17:18.280 that the U.S. buys from Ontario. 1.00
00:17:20.600 Oh, and get ready for every migrant in Europe 1.00
00:17:22.240 to come here for richer welfare. 1.00
00:17:24.180 That's why we launched our petition,
00:17:26.280 no to the EU.com.
00:17:27.920 They have internal movement of people.
00:17:30.400 Who do you think is going to come here?
00:17:32.040 Next clip.
00:18:02.040 Servitude. Strong word for a diplomat.
00:18:27.720 Who filled our vacuum?
00:18:29.040 Well, in January, Mark Carney flew to Beijing, cut our tariff on Chinese electric cars from 100% to 6% and told Xi Jinping the deal, quote, sets us up well for the new world order.
00:18:41.620 Remember the clip? Look at Scott Mo reacting. Take a look.
00:18:44.580 The world has changed much since that last visit.
00:18:49.760 And I believe the progress that we have made in the partnership
00:18:53.300 sets us up well for the new world order.
00:19:00.620 His words, Rubio warns about rivals filling the vacuum.
00:19:04.300 Carney is holding the door open for those rivals.
00:19:07.840 Next clip.
00:19:14.580 Thank you.
00:19:44.580 unleash our energy here's the canadian version northern gateway pipeline killed by the liberals
00:19:55.100 in 2016 energy east pipeline dead in 2017 after ottawa changed the rules c69 that's the no more
00:20:03.400 pipelines law c48 the tanker ban on october 1st mark carney listed a new pipeline to the pacific
00:20:10.860 Coast as a project of national
00:20:12.860 interest. He listed
00:20:14.760 it on some list.
00:20:17.020 It's not approved.
00:20:18.860 It's not built.
00:20:20.800 His own conditions aren't due until
00:20:22.580 next September.
00:20:25.200 There's no customers for it
00:20:26.840 yet, but he put
00:20:28.800 it on a list somewhere, so feel good about that.
00:20:30.820 The Americans choose and decide
00:20:33.000 we make lists
00:20:34.600 and tell people that we're listing it on
00:20:36.720 the list.
00:20:38.940 Next clip.
00:20:40.860 We were able to get a run of babe with us and we saw them 0.87
00:20:43.700 in front of ill then .
00:20:46.420 First, we're by the French,
00:20:50.620 and everybody can have to open up really well.
00:20:54.380 We sort my mind has a lot of things
00:20:56.920 like a ninja style,
00:21:00.900 and it will be nice to have,
00:21:02.200 and you are looking for them .
00:21:05.280 Good example.
00:21:07.180 What's happening to anybody?
00:21:10.860 The credibility that you're willing to use it.
00:21:13.520 This spring, when the Americans asked allies for warships
00:21:16.120 to keep the Strait of Hormuz open,
00:21:18.500 our defense minister said Canada hadn't been consulted.
00:21:21.320 I believe that, and that we wouldn't be joining.
00:21:23.140 I knew that.
00:21:24.900 Carney said we might help after the fighting's done.
00:21:29.000 That's the most Canadian doctrine ever.
00:21:31.320 We'll be there once you no longer need us.
00:21:34.600 Next clip.
00:21:40.860 Thank you.
00:22:10.860 Thank you.
00:22:40.860 an economy a fraction the size of ours country that was bankrupt 15 years ago nato says greece
00:22:49.920 spent 2.8 of its gdp on defense last year heading for 3.65 next year canada barely over two percent
00:22:59.080 the first time we've hit the bare minimum since 1990 and only because trump shamed us into it
00:23:04.280 greece built a steel fence on its border with turkey and suspended asylum claims from north
00:23:09.840 Africa. A model 1.00
00:23:11.680 ally, Rubio says. Nobody's giving
00:23:13.800 that speech in Ottawa. Next clip.
00:23:39.840 Thank you.
00:24:09.840 notice what's happening there rubio is making up he's patching things up with europe holding out
00:24:24.680 a hand greenland the thing that was supposed to be the great rupture in the alliance is now his
00:24:29.260 example of a deal where everybody won so who's still spoiling for a flight the fight excuse me
00:24:35.920 Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition.
00:24:40.720 Great powers have begun using economic integration as weapons.
00:24:45.260 Tariffs is leveraged. Financial infrastructure is coercion.
00:24:48.500 Supply chains as vulnerabilities to be exploited.
00:24:51.520 The middle powers must act together because if we're not at the table, we're on the menu.
00:24:56.080 A rupture, not a transition. If you're not at the table, you're on the menu. 0.72
00:25:01.220 Our Prime Minister at Davos at the World Economic Forum in January,
00:25:04.320 And last Thursday, at a rally in Calgary, trying to talk Alberta out of leaving, he
00:25:09.720 said, quote, some outside our borders are working to break us so they can own us.
00:25:16.620 Europe is making up with Washington.
00:25:18.900 Carney is still giving speeches about the menu and now about the Americans breaking
00:25:22.900 us.
00:25:23.620 He can't hold the country together, so he's blaming the neighbors.
00:25:28.360 Next clip.
00:25:34.320 The global community over your own people.
00:25:56.200 Isn't that the truth?
00:25:57.180 I mean, Carney is the ultimate globalist.
00:25:59.040 He's got three passports.
00:26:00.540 He says he regards himself as European.
00:26:03.280 He didn't even live in Canada until two years ago.
00:26:06.880 Governor of the Bank of England, UN Special Envoy, Davos regular.
00:26:10.400 Rubio didn't write that line about Mark Carney,
00:26:12.680 but it fits him like one of Carney's $5,000 finely tailored suits.
00:26:33.280 the cult of death 16 days before the second anniversary of october 7th mark carney recognized
00:26:59.080 a state of Palestine. 0.83
00:27:01.700 That was our government's answer to the 1.00
00:27:03.060 cult of death, a reward.
00:27:05.500 Rubio draws the line between heroes
00:27:07.160 and death worshippers.
00:27:08.860 Carney handed the death worshippers a flag.
00:27:12.360 Next clip. 1.00
00:27:12.840 every word of that is true
00:27:38.640 about Canada too
00:27:39.680 a Westminster Parliament
00:27:40.720 the common law
00:27:41.860 Magna Carta
00:27:42.520 a constitution that begins with God.
00:27:45.460 Same inheritance, same bloodline.
00:27:46.920 The difference is the Americans still claim it,
00:27:49.400 but, you know, I think we stopped.
00:27:51.540 We're almost done.
00:27:52.380 Here's another clip.
00:28:12.520 Thank you.
00:28:43.100 Intensely proud of where we come from.
00:28:46.280 Name me the last Canadian prime minister who said that.
00:28:49.000 Not we have work to do, not we acknowledge, we apologize.
00:28:53.460 I just mean proud.
00:28:55.640 I mean, they're too busy lowering the flag to half-mast and threatening to arrest you
00:28:58.940 if you question the mass graves hoax outside a residential school.
00:29:03.360 The Secretary of State of the United States flew to Athens
00:29:05.960 and gave a 3,500-word speech about Western civilization.
00:29:10.260 not one apology, not one acknowledgement of anyone's traditional territory, not one word
00:29:15.760 of shame. And the sky didn't fall. The Greeks applauded. Rubio says the West can wake up from
00:29:22.020 its long slumber. It means sleep. Europe is stirring. Greece is up. And Canada? Canada hit
00:29:29.920 the snooze button. And the man with his hand on the alarm clock is the one who called the last
00:29:34.760 wake-up call Christian nationalism. I've shown you a lot of clips tonight, so let me just ask you, 0.76
00:29:41.980 don't you wish our prime minister talked a bit more that way? Stay with us for more.
00:29:57.460 Well, right now, as this airs, Alberta's election, or vote rather, on a whole bunch of issues,
00:30:04.620 about immigration about senate reform and about having a referendum are being voted on across the
00:30:09.980 province very high early voting numbers um i don't know what the result is going to be i'm pessimistic
00:30:17.100 that the leave vote is going to do well tonight in part because it's not really a vote about leaving
00:30:22.140 it's a vote about voting and i think a lot of the energy went out of the balloon when that one rogue
00:30:27.580 trudeau appointed judge said oh you can't actually have a referendum i just discovered
00:30:32.860 an indigenous right to stop you.
00:30:35.120 It's really crazy, these Ottawa-appointed judges. 1.00
00:30:37.520 Anyways, we'll watch it tonight.
00:30:38.700 Join in on the live stream with Sheila Gunn-Reed and myself.
00:30:41.700 But I want to show you something I recorded when I was in Wexford,
00:30:47.800 in Ireland, not too long ago.
00:30:50.900 And I'm showing it to you because a trial is coming up,
00:30:54.120 and I'm going to be there.
00:30:54.840 Take a look at the curious case of Hugh Fagan.
00:30:59.620 Take a look.
00:31:00.800 So you've got a lot of signs.
00:31:02.220 one two three four five six seven and there's a lot of words on these signs and you come down
00:31:09.120 here to the town square in wexford ireland and you just sit here with your signs why do you do that
00:31:15.620 because last last may i was going through a church down near tesco and it was on a sunday and
00:31:23.360 they were bring it was a funeral and they were bringing the body out at casket to put into the
00:31:27.700 back of the hearse and there was a Romanian gypsy just lying in the entrance, begging. 1.00
00:31:35.880 So I just said, like, that's enough, enough is enough, so I started doing it because of 1.00
00:31:39.720 that. 1.00
00:31:40.720 Did you have a placard about that Roma Gypsy moment? 0.99
00:31:43.200 Yeah. 1.00
00:31:44.200 When I initially started in May, it was just two signs. 1.00
00:31:46.020 So one was about the Roma Gypsy community because, like, they're professional beggars. 1.00
00:31:50.200 Like, none of them work. 1.00
00:31:51.900 They dress with winter clothes 12 months a year because they rob all the shops.
00:31:55.100 Yeah, and none of them work. 0.99
00:31:56.100 They're into prostitution.
00:31:57.100 So that was sort of your way of speaking out publicly about it?
00:32:00.980 Yeah, and I'm sick of it.
00:32:02.840 I'm sick of what's happening in the country.
00:32:04.580 I'm sick of what's happening in Europe all over.
00:32:06.300 Well, that's the thing.
00:32:06.820 You have a whole range of subjects quite wide here.
00:32:09.340 Do you regard this as like an active public letter or something?
00:32:14.260 Is this an alternative to writing a letter to the editor of the newspaper?
00:32:17.420 Well, we all have a part to play, I think.
00:32:19.160 And this is what I can do legally.
00:32:21.540 I've lived in four countries, don't have a parking ticket.
00:32:24.660 And now I'll be in court for the second time over this.
00:32:26.440 it's a lovely town wexford and it's very touristy and there's lots of coffee shops
00:32:31.080 a lot of people actually stop and read these i was sort of surprised because there's so many
00:32:34.680 words on them some people that won't agree me they don't even look at them to just call me racist
00:32:38.840 fascist you know the far right but that's just shouting at me but that's because of the local
00:32:43.880 paper has written about me twice but they're inciting hatred towards me because like nobody
00:32:49.160 checks the checkers they can write what they want about me people like me like what's people like me
00:32:53.880 So some people would have a Twitter account or X, as it's now called.
00:32:57.160 Some people would have a YouTube channel.
00:32:59.520 This is your forum.
00:33:01.180 This is how you talk back.
00:33:02.160 So people said, oh, because I do it on my own, I don't have anyone with me.
00:33:06.520 I'm not affiliated with any party.
00:33:08.180 But, like, I'm doing it on my own, and it's truth.
00:33:11.420 And they say, like, be careful.
00:33:13.060 Like, you should have a camera and all that.
00:33:14.100 And I said, oh, I've got it on my side, and I'm armed with the truth.
00:33:17.200 Now, you were telling me before that you don't proselytize.
00:33:20.720 You don't actually talk to people.
00:33:22.560 You wear your headphones.
00:33:23.880 but if someone comes up to you you'll talk to them but you just sit in silence yeah i see her
00:33:27.720 and wait for them if people walk by take pictures some people that don't agree they'll just shake
00:33:32.200 their head shaking their head isn't saying anything but if they want to speak to me i'll
00:33:35.880 just take my headphones out how often does that happen how often do you debate someone let's say
00:33:41.240 every day it would happen every day is anyone ever physical is there any violence oh i've had
00:33:46.040 um people threaten me or like trying to manhandle them because it's it's people around the town
00:33:51.560 since i've been doing this they don't i only know them on a first name basis but if anything gets
00:33:55.720 too out of they run people off but i understand that you have in the mail received a summons to
00:34:01.240 go to court and that you are being criminally prosecuted for your signs do i have that right
00:34:07.560 yeah and i i don't know which sign is at the moment so they so the police sent you a letter
00:34:12.760 saying you've been charged they say it's for signs they didn't tell you which one it is no
00:34:17.000 no that's weird how can you defend yourself i know but i'll find out next week next week is it
00:34:22.380 coming up that quickly second date in court so you've already been a court yeah yeah and what
00:34:26.680 did the judge say is the court here in wexford yeah but my barrister speaks to the um the judge
00:34:32.160 i wouldn't really i haven't said anything yet because if you're here every day i would imagine
00:34:36.220 that the lawyers and the judges they've probably just seen you if they're going through the town
00:34:40.180 oh yeah i'm sure the guards on the rounds every day pass by me and what do they say they don't
00:34:44.620 Signing sense video went viral last May.
00:34:46.720 Well, I agree with everything he's saying.
00:34:48.720 Yeah, yeah, a lot of people do.
00:34:50.080 But people like him and other people are...
00:34:52.520 I want to know what law is he breaking.
00:34:54.340 He's not breaking any law.
00:34:55.200 Go on YouTube and watch what's happening in Dublin.
00:34:57.940 All the sex attacks, taking pictures of kids, everything. 0.95
00:35:02.340 Women post every day on their Facebook and all that. 1.00
00:35:05.700 They're sick of Roma gypsies. 1.00
00:35:07.760 All they do is professional beg, right? 1.00
00:35:11.640 They don't assimilate.
00:35:13.120 They're giving everything.
00:35:14.320 Before that, there was always 2-1 patrol
00:35:16.220 and they always stopped me.
00:35:17.500 They always, because I originally...
00:35:18.320 And what did they do when they would stop you?
00:35:19.660 They moved me on.
00:35:21.200 So they just say, keep on moving?
00:35:22.880 I was originally up on Ann Street,
00:35:25.160 the top of Ann Street.
00:35:25.780 And they moved you down here?
00:35:26.900 Well, yeah, I just came down here.
00:35:28.040 It seems like a kind of place
00:35:29.520 for a street preacher or a busker.
00:35:32.500 This sort of feel,
00:35:33.780 like this is a little bit of a town square, isn't it?
00:35:35.700 Yeah, but it's better for me here.
00:35:37.400 I've been asked to move by buskers. 1.00
00:35:39.240 I've been asked to move by Palestinian supporters
00:35:41.440 and saying like, nobody wants you here. 0.54
00:35:43.560 Like we're doing something good.
00:35:44.740 and, you know, I'm very, I don't care.
00:35:48.560 I'll sit here, I'll say, I don't need a permit.
00:35:50.540 I've been asked all that, you need a permit.
00:35:52.180 Your posters are stuck to the wall.
00:35:53.420 I said, they're not stuck, I don't.
00:35:54.760 And countless people, because society has conditioned people
00:35:58.360 not to tell the truth for over 20 years,
00:36:00.240 they believe I'm a racist and they actually,
00:36:03.700 the guards, every week the guards get called.
00:36:05.840 I've had people, tourists, Americans, different people.
00:36:08.460 My God, we're going to wait here for the guards to arrest you.
00:36:10.660 It's Irish and Americans. 1.00
00:36:12.300 Let me read this one.
00:36:13.260 Christians are the most persecuted group in the Middle East.
00:36:16.620 Churches are being burnt down at an alarming rate all over Europe,
00:36:19.440 including two recent arson attacks on churches in Westmeath.
00:36:22.920 The European Union and the powers that be have flooded Europe with the worst of society.
00:36:26.600 We feed them, we house them, we put the clothes on their backs and give them money.
00:36:29.820 They hate us, our culture, how do they repay our kindness? 0.97
00:36:32.400 Every woman and child is now a target in Ireland. 0.99
00:36:34.700 Uncivilized filth have no place in Ireland. 1.00
00:36:36.520 You let them in so you can put them back out. 1.00
00:36:38.900 That's tough talk.
00:36:39.900 It can be, but that's what's needed.
00:36:41.380 I believe in freedom of speech, and I think that Ireland is becoming a real battleground for censorship.
00:36:47.560 You know, the more I study Ireland, the more I am worried.
00:36:50.660 And listen, I don't necessarily agree with everything, although if I disagree with what I just read,
00:36:54.760 it would probably be in the style rather than the substance. 0.97
00:36:57.600 I'm worried about mass immigration. I'm worried about the fate of women. 0.99
00:37:00.800 Just of what I've read, I actually don't disagree with anything you said.
00:37:03.600 But even if I did, I think part of the point of freedom of speech is that
00:37:08.600 it's the gift you give your opponents if you want it for yourself.
00:37:11.380 and like that's the thing but like i don't i don't hate people on the left i think they're 0.94
00:37:16.380 lunatics some of them and i don't they might say you're a lunatic out here all in the hot yeah like
00:37:21.120 i don't hate anybody i'm not just i'm not gonna let hate poison my soul i i feel sorry for people 0.97
00:37:26.620 but like why engage with me when you don't know what i'm on about or you don't know the substance
00:37:32.480 and history of what i'm talking about it's factual why are we why are we so afraid of truth
00:37:37.500 well i've gotten to know your lawyer lisha de brin a little bit in a couple of other cases
00:37:43.420 and we were talking and we think that there's room for more free speech activism in ireland and
00:37:50.660 i had an old friend who used to say it's easier to fight in the first ditch than in the last ditch
00:37:56.720 and and i think that means if you're here in your hometown where you were born and raised and you
00:38:03.520 You have signs that are not calling for violence, and you just sit here quietly, and you engage in conversation.
00:38:09.560 It reminds me of a friend I have back in Canada, Chris Elston, who has billboards.
00:38:13.380 It's like a sandwich board.
00:38:14.620 He talks primarily about transgenderism.
00:38:16.580 I know you do a bit, too.
00:38:17.980 My point is, it seems to me that even if what you're doing here is a little unorthodox and a little unusual,
00:38:25.440 it's a good place to fight back because you would be the first to go, and then someone else, and then someone else.
00:38:32.180 And I think you're the tripwire.
00:38:35.140 If Wexford can shut you up just because you say things that are a little unusual and critical, then who's next?
00:38:42.320 I think you're sort of the canary in the coal mine.
00:38:44.020 That's just, I mean, look, I've only known you for 20 minutes, but that's how it looks.
00:38:47.200 Well, have you ever played Whack-A-Bowl in the arcades?
00:38:50.200 I know what you mean.
00:38:50.840 Yeah, well, that's what it's like.
00:38:52.040 Instead of, like, one, two of us popping up all over, we need to pop up all together.
00:38:56.180 Because they can't silence all of us.
00:38:58.360 Well, they can online.
00:38:59.420 That's the crazy thing.
00:39:00.380 You're sort of censorship-proof in terms of no one at Facebook or YouTube is going to delete you
00:39:06.460 because you're a human being in real life.
00:39:09.140 But the censorship goes both ways.
00:39:10.760 It's people on the left drag me all the time now. 0.98
00:39:13.180 They call me racist, far-right, brown-nosed, fascist. 0.94
00:39:16.340 What I'm doing is signs in a public area. 0.95
00:39:18.900 They're literally putting up signs on Facebook, but they're allowed to do that.
00:39:22.600 But, like, it's woke ideology and far-left policies are destroying Europe
00:39:27.460 and the world that has let out it to happen.
00:39:30.820 Like, Poland and Hungary don't have this issue, and they're in the EU.
00:39:33.800 My nickname for Hugh is the unreasonable man,
00:39:37.380 because it's the unreasonable man that brings about change, isn't it?
00:39:40.220 Bernard Shaw.
00:39:41.720 Well, listen, we love Ireland, and Wexford is such a beautiful town.
00:39:45.620 I had no idea. I mean, that abbey is just incredible.
00:39:48.900 And it's just such a lovely, walkable tourist place.
00:39:51.280 I can understand why your silent protest here is jarring to people.
00:39:55.960 I absolutely can.
00:39:57.260 And some people would say, what the heck are you doing?
00:40:00.180 But one of the answers is exercising my constitutional right to freedom of speech.
00:40:05.700 I think that answer should suffice.
00:40:08.560 It should.
00:40:09.040 But we have like a government where Micheál Martin will come out visiting other countries
00:40:13.220 and Ireland's a bastion of free speech.
00:40:15.580 I don't think he's deceiving people.
00:40:18.340 I was talking to your lawyer, Alicia, and I wonder if he would be open to us assisting you in a free speech battle.
00:40:25.580 We've set up a website called irishfreespeech.com, and we're trying to crowdfund a series of cases.
00:40:32.180 They're not really related.
00:40:33.280 I mean, there was one fella who was attacked because he was a critic of a drag queen story hour.
00:40:38.680 And then there was another fella who was charged with a crime because he tweeted a picture of a migrant.
00:40:43.860 And you've been charged with a crime.
00:40:44.980 Like I sense a theme here is that Ireland is censoring people and there's not a coherent pushback.
00:40:54.160 I'm not Irish, but I really like Ireland and I see a lack.
00:40:58.500 There's a lack of free speech activism.
00:41:00.980 Would you accept help from our viewers if we wanted to crowdfund your legal defense?
00:41:05.900 Because even if people say this is cuckoo, even if they thought this was crazy,
00:41:10.560 i think what we we have to agree on is that you have the right to say it and if the police are
00:41:16.700 prosecuting you you have the right to a good lawyer yeah and that's that's the thing it's
00:41:22.320 and of course i'll be open to like i know from speaking with me barrister one of the things
00:41:27.120 that she just previously said i had a like a placard that said i identify as roma give me
00:41:32.280 your money so i'm but that was me just tongue in cheek saying i identify roma give me your money
00:41:37.740 but I didn't go collect any money.
00:41:39.280 Is it all true or is it his opinion or is it based on fact?
00:41:44.600 Well, isn't that a good way to look at it also?
00:41:46.800 That's the only way to look at it because there's only one thing,
00:41:49.280 there's only one, and that's the truth.
00:41:51.400 Everything else is just propaganda.
00:41:54.900 If the police of this city want to prosecute you and jail you,
00:41:59.320 that's a bigger problem than an unusual fellow with some eccentric signs.
00:42:03.560 I just really think that you are that front line, that first ditch rather than the I would rather the battle be defending you and your quirky signs than, you know, arresting political candidates or shutting down newspapers.
00:42:19.720 You see what I mean? Wexford is such a lovely place, but you are that tripwire for freedom.
00:42:25.440 That's how it looks to me.
00:42:26.320 yeah but the government will have the opposite view of me and it's they want to censor me they
00:42:31.680 want me to go away but because i'm not engaging with people and i i know enough to sit here and
00:42:38.960 take the crap off people like eventually they just walk away we're living in the upside down at the
00:42:44.800 moment and what's true is not true anymore and um yeah they're telling us two plus two is not four 0.99
00:42:53.840 and men and women are not different they're saying things that are shockingly untrue um
00:43:00.240 yes well listen if if your matter continues to court and part of me thinks that it'll be thrown
00:43:05.520 out because it's too crazy to go to court but we live in crazy times if your case actually goes to
00:43:12.080 trial where you actually are in jeopardy let me know or have your lawyer let me know because we
00:43:17.840 will come back for that trial because the trial of a man with some eccentric signs in the heart
00:43:23.280 of the city where he faces possible jail time is unacceptable to any free person and to anyone who
00:43:29.440 loves ireland whether they're irish here on the island or irish american or we're from canada
00:43:34.080 there's three three million canadians of irish descent you don't even have to have an ethnic
00:43:39.360 connection i'm not ethnically connected to ireland at all but i love it and if this country thinks
00:43:44.720 that the solution to your signs is to put you in jail i think the world needs to know so we're
00:43:50.640 We're going to help crowdfund whether or not you agree with these signs that Hughes should have the right to sit in his town square, not four blocks from his own house, and sit in silence and engage passersby in polite debate, at least polite on his end.
00:44:05.560 And if you think it's wrong that the police have dragged him to jail, not to jail, thank God, but to court, then go to irishfreespeech.com.
00:44:13.160 We're raising funds for various cases like Hughes.
00:44:17.320 and you don't have to agree with what he says to agree with his right to say it go to irishfreespeech.com
00:44:24.540 well i i tell you i'm pretty excited to find out the results of the referendum
00:44:30.700 uh actually there's so many questions that have to be counted by hand which i totally support
00:44:36.180 by the way i am always worried when i see computer voting computer counting because it's so
00:44:41.860 susceptible to malware, spyware, and just rigging the votes. Whereas if you have pencil and paper,
00:44:48.400 you can't really rig that. I remember going to the election in the by-election in the United
00:44:53.780 Kingdom where Nigel Farage won in Clacton-on-C. And they bring all the ballots to one central
00:45:00.860 counting location. And they count them and recount them and recount them. And it never ends till like
00:45:06.920 three or four in the morning, but all the candidates stay there and all the teams are
00:45:12.180 in the same building and all the media. It's a very exciting process and procedure. And all the
00:45:19.780 candidates are in the same press conference when the results are announced. It's actually sort of
00:45:24.080 special. And I didn't know what to expect. I had no idea they would still be going at 4 a.m. I was
00:45:30.040 so tired. But yeah, I approve taking the time to get it right as opposed to the kind of
00:45:36.500 terrible voting machinery we've seen in the United States.
00:45:40.720 We'll obviously have all the details for you tomorrow.
00:45:42.940 Until then, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters,
00:45:46.200 to you at home, good night, and keep fighting for freedom.
