00:00:00.000 Hello, my friends. An astonishing new venture by the U.S. State Department. They are cracking down
00:00:06.980 on left-wing terrorism like Antifa, and they want the rest of the world to join with them.
00:00:13.900 Will Canada? I'll take you through Secretary Marco Rubio's speech. But first, let me invite

00:00:25.080 I want you to see them, not just hear them.

00:00:35.980 tonight america announces its plan to take on left-wing terrorism something canadians have
00:00:58.060 long endured it's july 17th and this is the azure levant show
00:01:01.840 You know, I've told you on more than one occasion that our reporters are attacked quite frequently more than any other news organization in Canada.
00:01:25.560 And what's the most frustrating about that is the police who are often right nearby do nothing.
00:01:32.380 We've seen that at the Hamas protests in Toronto.
00:01:35.780 We've seen that with Antifa, a terrible case when Alexa Lavoie was standing right near
00:01:41.160 police in Montreal, who stood by as she was physically attacked.
00:01:47.360 And it's typically people on the left.
00:01:50.040 I've never heard of right-wing violent attackers in Canada.
00:01:54.520 I've just never heard of it even once.
00:01:56.100 It's ubiquitous on the left.
00:01:57.940 I mean, just the other day, I don't know if you saw this, the Nova Scotia premier was
00:02:01.720 swarmed people stomped on his car jumped on his car smashed it and i understand there's only one
00:02:08.260 charge and it was later dropped we saw that a few months ago when there was a christian pastor
00:02:14.620 performing a singing prayer ritual in a montreal church and there was an extremist from antifa
00:02:23.340 who threw incendiary devices in the church just walked right out and we later discovered that
00:02:29.640 Gabriel Lepage actually works for the Canadian forces.
00:02:33.340 It's crazy.
00:02:34.280 By the way, more than 100 churches in Canada
00:02:37.500 have been vandalized or torched,
00:02:39.920 including major cathedrals, even in the heart of Toronto.
00:02:43.560 Oh, and there's the synagogue. 0.98
00:02:45.460 And then there's transgender violence. 0.93
00:02:48.080 Here's Jonathan Yaniv in one of his many freakouts
00:02:51.380 against Rebel News journalists.
00:02:53.140 Will you be pleading guilty?
00:02:54.600 What? No, don't touch me. Don't touch me.
00:02:56.860 Hey!
00:02:59.640 please stop go away from me here's another
00:03:07.800 yeah and police don't dare lay charges against him they actually did finally
00:03:12.280 um because he's transgender and so he's politically acceptable uh the other day 0.64
00:03:18.040 the shooter in montreal a couple weeks ago not only was he a horrific person but his manifesto 0.84
00:03:24.600 outlined how he was a leftist, a Marxist. He praised Mao and Stalin by name. And yet the
00:03:31.360 regime media covered that part of it up. Every single act of violence I've just described to
00:03:36.400 you for the last few minutes has been a left-wing act of violence in Canada that has either been
00:03:42.160 ignored or even supported in some way by the regime. Well, it's been the same way in the United
00:03:49.300 States too, but now they're doing something about it. Secretary of State Marco Rubio invited 60
00:03:55.700 senior officials from different countries around the world. I understand that Canada just sent a
00:04:00.100 junior staffer though. Here is Secretary Rubio talking a little bit about, well, I guess first
00:04:07.580 principles of why he cares about tackling left-wing terrorism and violence. So let me start by saying
00:04:14.320 that the most essential duty of the state, the first responsibility, frankly, of any government
00:04:22.140 of any kind, is the protection of its people, the protection of its country. This is a sacred
00:04:28.500 obligation that should transcend all political and all ideological divisions. It is why, for example,
00:04:34.800 we have militaries. It's why we have intelligence agencies. It's why counterterrorism bureaus exist,
00:04:39.920 why police forces exist. Keeping our people safe is the reason why every country represented here
00:04:45.960 has all of these things. Now, that probably sounds so obvious. Why even waste time saying it? Well,
00:04:51.000 yeah, these days you have to say obvious things. If you can believe it, even the definition of a
00:04:55.820 woman is controversial. So to restate basic facts is always a good thing. And everything he just
00:05:01.460 said there is actually being undermined by the left. I mean, it is a core principle of the left
00:05:07.000 to get rid of borders, to get rid of the military, to get rid of police, to get rid of the idea of
00:05:12.400 citizenship. I'll let him speak some more. Here's the next clip. We are all very well acquainted
00:05:17.420 as of now, of course, by now with what has been described as traditional terrorist threats.
00:05:24.600 For 25 years, the term counterterrorism, at least in the West, has meant first and foremost the
00:05:31.060 fight against radical Islamist extremism and there's a very poignant reason for that. On the 1.00
00:05:37.720 11th of September in the year of 2001, 19 men murdered 3,000 people here in my country. Then
00:05:48.160 that same enemy struck Europe, murdering nearly 200 commuters aboard trains in Madrid in 2004
00:05:54.300 and 52 more aboard London buses and the underground in the following year. The entire
00:06:00.320 architecture of western counterterrorism was rebuilt from the studs around the singular traumatic
00:06:07.440 event that made sense at the time our job was to keep our people safe and the realm of terrorism
00:06:14.420 the specter of global jihad was the premier threat to their safety so he's very cognizant
00:06:19.940 of the threat of radical islam by the way you'll never hear a canadian politician say the phrase 0.52
00:06:23.880 radical islam they don't dare say that um but in addition to fighting islamic extremism
00:06:32.120 there is a new threat and uh secretary rubio calls it a blind spot take a look for far too
00:06:38.680 long however our counter-terrorism doctrine has had a blind spot a blind spot when it comes to
00:06:44.520 extremist violence from the political left even today the very idea that far left terrorism could
00:06:51.240 could be a serious threat, is treated as a right-wing fever dream, or worse, as a dangerous
00:06:57.180 fascist conspiracy. It's treated this way by many in the press, by many in academia and our
00:07:03.340 universities, and by many of our legacy institutions. A whole industry grew up in our
00:07:10.460 countries around the study of extremism. We have think tanks and fellowships and journals and
00:07:16.260 consultancies with the unspoken understanding among them that the only kind of political
00:07:21.760 violence that was a true threat to our system, that only one kind of political violence was
00:07:27.040 a true threat to the system. A bomb planted by a neo-Nazi group was a nefarious and murderous
00:07:33.680 act of evil. It is. But a bomb planted by a Marxist revolutionary, well, that's just
00:07:39.520 merely a tragic excess of idealism perhaps it mean perhaps its means were misplaced or overzealous
00:07:46.280 but its ends were virtuous and just that's the implication of how they treat it i think he's so
00:07:53.420 right about that you can find a hundred professors who'll talk to you about the threat of the proud
00:07:58.420 boys or about incels or the manosphere or even saying how working out is a gateway to being
00:08:06.780 right wing uh where's the same scholarship pseudo scholarship on the hate groups on the left i mean
00:08:13.840 we recently saw a indictment of the southern poverty law center they're actually funding
00:08:20.400 fake hate hoaxes uh and they were darlings of the establishment i think we have the same situation
00:08:27.600 in canada we ignore threats on the left and we have this whole pseudo academic industry to do
00:08:34.080 it. Here's some more. It is why during those George Floyd, so-called George Floyd riots in the
00:08:39.200 summer of 2020, as criminals and extremists burned and looted their way through America's
00:08:45.320 great cities and nearly brought the country to its knees, city governments all across the country
00:08:51.300 simply refused to prosecute the people conducting these acts of violence and terror. It is the
00:08:57.380 reason for the now infamous image, maybe you all recall this, of a news anchor from a very
00:09:03.740 prominent agency, a news anchor, standing in the neighborhood, consumed in flames. Meanwhile,
00:09:11.120 the crayon on the bottom read that the protests were mostly peaceful. This was something worse
00:09:18.600 than a double standard. Left-wing violence was not just excused. It was treated as sacrosanct,
00:09:25.480 a protected class unto itself that era has to end you know it was crazy george floyd george floyd was
00:09:34.360 a local police matter and i'm not going to get into the details of it but can you imagine all
00:09:39.340 around the world leftist politicians took a knee it had nothing to do with the united kingdom it
00:09:43.960 had nothing to do with canada and it was all about undermining the authority of the state
00:09:50.440 and giving license to violence, which is absolutely what happened mainly in the United States.
00:09:56.620 But there were some riots in Canada, too, in Montreal in particular.
00:10:00.560 And to this day, we give a pass to left-wing violence like the aforementioned Gabriel Lepage.
00:10:06.260 Here's more from Secretary Rubio.
00:10:07.840 The coalition in this room today includes political leaders and experts and law enforcement officials
00:10:13.300 from more than 60 countries across the world.
00:10:16.360 You have come here from a wide range of governments, parties, and political persuasions.
00:10:22.280 Some of your governments and ours disagree publicly.
00:10:26.120 Sometimes we disagree sharply about trade, about energy, about immigration.
00:10:32.520 You did not come here today because you have been persuaded on every single aspect of the American view of the world.
00:10:40.100 You came here.
00:10:41.140 You are here because two weeks ago, a 72-year-old woman was burned on over 80% of her body in her own home in Greece, and she died, executed by a firebomb because her daughter dared to stand for office.
00:10:59.420 You are here today because for five days this winter, the lights went out in Berlin, the longest blackout in the city since the Second World War,
00:11:08.180 sparked by an attack that left tens of thousands of households without power in the freezing cold
00:11:13.780 and left an 83-year-old woman dead.
00:11:17.240 You are here and you came because a month after that Berlin blackout,
00:11:21.320 a French 23-year-old succumbed to traumatic brain injuries,
00:11:26.180 beaten to death on the streets of Lyon by a group of far-left militant thugs.
00:11:31.520 you are here because your political leaders are being attacked and stabbed and shot in your
00:11:38.720 streets because your businesses have been bombed because your railways have been sabotaged because
00:11:44.120 your police officers have been beaten and burned you are here because this is real and it is getting
00:11:50.480 worse and it can no longer be denied and it can no longer be ignored because it's it is time to
00:11:57.000 crush this evil forever. That is a good recitation of the resurgence of left-wing violence. I think
00:12:02.940 there's a bit of a collusion between Islamist violence and Antifa communist violence, not just
00:12:09.920 in Europe, but in Canada too. And violence is a tool of the left. I don't know if you remember
00:12:14.280 this, but just weeks before his election, former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was stabbed.
00:12:21.140 I mean, assassination is a tool of the left. All right, here's more.
00:12:25.840 The simple fact is none of this that I've just described is new. Far-left political terrorism
00:12:32.560 is not a recent-day modern novelty. It is not a fiction manufactured by conservative politicians.
00:12:39.600 For most of the modern era, it was in fact the dominant form of political violence.
00:12:45.280 Every one of our friends here from the nations of the Western Hemisphere remember.
00:12:49.520 Remember the decades of kidnappings and bombings and assassinations and executions,
00:12:54.800 the violent terror of the Tupamaros, of the Monteseros, of the FARC, of the ELN.
00:13:04.080 You remember the inhuman savagery of Peru's shining path,
00:13:07.480 the Maoist fanatics who massacred the peasant villages of Peru,
00:13:12.360 hacking pregnant women and newborn infants to death with axes and machetes.
00:13:18.320 You remember the tens of thousands of Marxist guerrillas trained to kill
00:13:24.260 in castro's terrorist camps i love to hear that kind of freedom fighting come from a latino of
00:13:30.840 course um marco rubio is a descendant of cubans who uh you know that that island prison i believe
00:13:38.680 it will be free before the end of the year frankly i had thought it might be even by now
00:13:43.400 as you might recall we sent two of our reporters efron monsanto and alexa lavoie undercover i mean
00:13:48.920 we didn't disguise their identity. We sent them there as tourists, but they documented the terrible
00:13:55.020 state of that country because of communism. So it's nice to hear a man with the moral authority
00:14:00.520 of a Cuban-American talk about freedom in Latin America. Now, Secretary Rubio goes on to rehearse
00:14:09.620 the history of U.S. domestic terrorism, and then he says this. And today we face a new wave of this
00:14:16.460 old evil. Here in the United States, the share of left-wing terrorist attacks and plots has risen
00:14:23.060 to levels not seen in decades. In Germany, far-left violence has jumped by more than 40%
00:14:29.860 in just the last year alone. In Greece, more than 80% of radical violence is now driven by far-left
00:14:37.060 and anarchist actors. These are not abstract statistics. Americans have seen what those
00:14:43.900 numbers mean. An all-out assault on our immigration officers, sniper attacks, explosives, armed
00:14:50.420 ambushes, a transgender shooter opening fire on Catholic elementary school students as they pray,
00:14:56.400 his gun marked with slogans like, where is your God now? A health care executive executed 0.94
00:15:05.380 in cold blood in the streets, multiple assassination attempts on a sitting president,
00:15:11.340 and the murder of the greatest conservative activist of a generation,
00:15:15.740 a man who happened to also be a husband and the father of two young children,
00:15:20.340 shot and killed while speaking to a crowd of students. 1.00
00:15:24.060 That's a great point.
00:15:25.080 When you have these organized gangs that hunt ICE agents,
00:15:30.620 what is that but a domestic terrorist cell?
00:15:33.620 You know, we have that sort of thing in Canada, too, I believe,
00:15:36.860 and police turn a blind eye. Here's some more.
00:15:39.440 This is a distinctive and unique evil. It has always been driven by a hatred, above all else, a hatred for civilization itself.
00:15:49.500 It is a revolt of the worst against the best, a revolt of the weak and the cowardly against the strong and the good.
00:15:58.100 It is perpetrated by those who cannot build, who cannot create, who cannot achieve great things, 0.98
00:16:04.200 and take their revenge upon the world for their own inadequacy 1.00
00:16:07.940 by seeking to destroy those who can.
00:16:12.280 This is what radical leftism is.
00:16:15.120 It may wear various different slogans and ideologies across place and time.
00:16:19.480 They can call themselves anti-capitalists or anti-imperialists
00:16:23.100 or communists or anarchists or Marxists,
00:16:26.060 but the fundamental character is always the same.
00:16:29.200 You know, he's so right about what motivates the hard left.
00:16:32.780 he's theoretically right he's aesthetically right um when the left says they want to demolish the
00:16:39.620 west they really mean that it's not just a phrase and the trouble is that seeps into our government
00:16:45.760 in canada we've stripped sir john a mcdonald off the ten dollar bill we've torn down his statues
00:16:50.400 and those of queen victoria we call canada turtle island to denigrate it and uh and erase its roots
00:16:58.520 We do land acknowledgements or call citizens settlers.
00:17:03.260 We talk about a genocidal state.
00:17:05.780 That's what they say about Canada.
00:17:07.480 If they say about Canada, of course they'll say it about Israel. 0.96
00:17:10.120 These people want to undo our very country, and they mean it. 0.98
00:17:15.040 You've got to hear this part.
00:17:16.140 It is a poisonous resentment cloaked in the language of equality and justice, liberation,
00:17:22.240 an overwhelming need to tear down what greater men have built,
00:17:26.140 to wreck what is beautiful and what is right on behalf of people who are only filled with ugliness
00:17:32.580 and have nothing else to offer the world. Through violence and through terror, they once again seek
00:17:39.380 to impose their ugliness on all of us. The old dogma was wrong. The old dogma was wrong. None
00:17:46.580 of this is driven by idealism. It is not utopian. In fact, it is the opposite. One of the criticisms
00:17:55.380 you sometimes hear of communism, for example, is that it sounds good in theory, but it never works
00:18:01.540 in practice. That's actually not true. Communism does not sound good in theory.
00:18:08.640 The world it envisions for all of us is small, flat, gray, leveled of all exception,
00:18:16.180 drained of all that is good and noble in the human soul. The world it envisions is a world
00:18:20.880 without courage, a world without creativity or ambition, a world without heroes or glory
00:18:27.400 or great causes to strive towards, a world without miracles, without myths, without men
00:18:33.860 who rise above the rest to do incredible and extraordinary things.
00:18:38.100 And the world communism envisions is a world without God.
00:18:42.680 For these architects of revolutionary violence, the towering achievement of our civilization,
00:18:47.180 For them, it's an unbearable humiliation, a reminder of what they cannot do and a reminder
00:18:54.420 of what they cannot be. So they choose instead to destroy. They attack pipelines. They attack
00:19:01.460 railroads. They attack power grids and laboratories, the physical embodied symbols of power and
00:19:08.880 invention and achievement. This is the nature of the terrorism we face today. They despise the West
00:19:17.560 because the West is great. He's so right on that. And by the way, I remember growing up, 1.00
00:19:24.240 I tried not to insult people by calling them communists because most of the people I knew
00:19:31.420 on the left were not communists. They were maybe liberals. And it almost sounded too much to call
00:19:37.160 someone a communist it sounded jingoistic communism is back big time communism and
00:19:43.320 violence i'm talking about even assassinations luigi mangioni accused of murdering a health
00:19:49.980 care executive there is a fashion on the left to this kind of communist violence when i was in
00:19:57.080 london reporting on some of their big anti-israel marches there were communists there i mean there
00:20:01.920 were third world uh anti-semites but they were white british communists there are communists
00:20:08.520 and of course they make common cause with any and every other revolution that's what that's how you 0.75
00:20:14.200 can understand things like queers for palestine we all know that in gaza if you're gay you would 0.97
00:20:21.000 be thrown off the top of a building and killed immediately so why on earth would there be such 0.96
00:20:26.000 thing as queers for Palestine. Well, every revolution is part of the same revolution to 1.00
00:20:32.280 undermine the West. It's interesting to hear, I was going to say Elon Musk, to hear Marco Rubio
00:20:39.980 talk about great achievements. And when I think of great optimism and technical prowess and
00:20:47.240 achievement, I think of Elon Musk, the indispensable man. I mean, the guy wants to go to Mars for
00:20:52.140 heaven's sake. And it looks like he might achieve it. To be inspired by building and fraternity
00:20:58.760 is very different than the victimology and the loathing and the grievance culture of communism.
00:21:05.240 That's what communism is. It says you must pit yourself against others. Labor and capital must
00:21:11.000 be at war. And when they export this Marxist theory to race or gender, it's the same thing.
00:21:17.200 Men and women, men are always oppressors. Women are always the oppressed. Whites are always the 0.93
00:21:21.920 oppressors, minorities are always the oppressed. That's the communist way of looking at the world 0.99
00:21:26.120 and it's left nothing but misery in its wake. Here's a little more. And they work alongside 0.75
00:21:31.500 hostile foreign states that share their mission like Iranian proxy networks who are increasingly
00:21:38.340 intimately tied to leftist militant groups around the world. The Cuban regime's sprawling
00:21:45.360 intelligence and ideological network helped to build the far left in our country and in our
00:21:50.200 hemisphere, and it remains inextricably linked to the far-left groups and
00:21:54.280 movements across and beyond the West. Today's far-left terrorists can raise
00:22:00.700 money in one country, they can host their communications in a second country,
00:22:04.980 they can receive training in a third country, they can recruit militants in a
00:22:09.400 fourth country, and then together strike a target in a fifth country. And so we
00:22:16.180 have no choice but to confront this menace together. We will either cooperate across our
00:22:21.180 borders or the terrorists will continue to exploit the gaps between them. I think that's a good point.
00:22:27.200 And do you doubt that Canada is in the thick of it? I mean, we know there are some people in Canada's
00:22:31.940 security establishment that talk about the influence of 700 Iranian agents here. We know
00:22:37.260 there's Chinese involvement. I mean, of course there are. And I think, you know, my colleague,
00:22:43.840 Mike Cole, rather, the alderman for that part of Toronto where there's the weekly Hamas protests, he says, and I think he has some CSIS and police evidence to back him up, that that is not just some normal crime or some organic protest.
00:22:58.880 That is an action of a foreign government.
00:23:02.260 If you're Iran, if you're North Korea, if you're China, of course you're going to whip up protests and riots and division in the West. 0.99
00:23:10.680 That's good news for you. 0.68
00:23:11.800 and by the way look at that there's george soros's son in canada what's he doing here
00:23:19.600 george soros himself was a trader was a hedge fund manager was an investor
00:23:26.040 that's what he did and with his profits he meddled in politics his son alex does nothing
00:23:32.480 but politics what is he doing in canada who is he funding in canada what an incurious media we have
00:23:41.320 did that pass without comment. Here's some more from Secretary Rubio.
00:23:45.220 Under President Trump for the first time, the United States is building the infrastructure,
00:23:50.000 the partnership, and the strategy to defeat the scourge of far-left terror. The president signed
00:23:56.260 National Security Presidential Memorandum No. 7, outlining a comprehensive strategy to investigate
00:24:01.860 and disrupt Antifa terror networks and their allies. Last November, the State Department
00:24:07.800 designated four violent far-left extremist groups
00:24:11.500 as foreign terrorist organizations.
00:24:14.040 And there will be more designations soon.
00:24:17.640 That's very exciting.
00:24:19.100 And hopefully good things will come out of this conference.
00:24:22.020 There were other speakers too,
00:24:23.620 including Stephen Miller of the White House.
00:24:25.780 I guess what I'm curious is,
00:24:27.740 will Canada go along with this?
00:24:29.300 I mean, we know that Doug Ford and Mark Carney 0.88
00:24:32.000 and Wob Canoe and the whole regime media
00:24:34.300 love to be anti-American
00:24:36.160 And they love to do the opposite of what Trump is doing.
00:24:39.240 If Trump says the sky is blue, they'll say, no, it's actually pink, just to spite him.
00:24:45.020 What will they do here?
00:24:46.560 I think two things.
00:24:47.980 First of all, they'll disagree with him because they have Trump derangement syndrome.
00:24:51.680 And secondly, they like having Antifa.
00:24:54.740 It's their street teams.
00:24:56.120 It's their enforcement arms.
00:24:58.260 It's how they get back at Rebel News.
00:25:00.460 So I don't think they're going to crack down on him.
00:25:02.640 And not just for reasons of ideological sympathy, but I think in general, Canada doesn't crack down
00:25:09.060 on anything. We're allowing foreign gangs to run rampant. Of course, we're allowing 0.99
00:25:13.900 Antifa. And of course, we're allowing Iran and others to spend money here. And why on earth would 0.66
00:25:18.960 that change? Trouble is, if we don't change, well, America just might harden the world's
00:25:24.520 longest undefended border. Stay with us more on this subject with Karim Asad.
00:25:32.640 Well, I understand that Canada did not send anyone of a high level to Secretary of State
00:25:44.240 Rubio's conference, and that's too bad.
00:25:46.980 But I think that Canada, the Canadian journalistic establishment, the Canadian government establishment,
00:25:53.960 very much wants to keep domestic violence, domestic political violence, as something
00:25:59.820 that the left accuses the right of doing. And I think they very much want to turn a blind eye to
00:26:05.660 left wing and anti for violence. That's my own opinion. And you know, I do go out there into
00:26:11.300 the world. Sometimes I'm at these street protests and I do see things. You might even remember once
00:26:16.220 I was arrested. But someone who has made a specialty of going out on the streets and covering
00:26:23.860 protests many of which turn handsy is our friend karima sad from protest mania and she joins us
00:26:31.980 now via zoom karima great to see you again and i'm always delighted to see you because i know
00:26:37.220 that you have the pulse of the protest beat you i i don't know how you do it how you sort of know
00:26:42.900 where to go but you're always there filming what's going on on the streets i think you've
00:26:47.060 revolutionized journalism because frankly a lot of the bad behavior you cover is the kind of thing
00:26:52.660 that the regime media wouldn't want to shine a light on.
00:26:57.300 Yeah, it's hard to disagree with that, Ezra.
00:27:01.120 And, you know, I think back to some of my early coverage
00:27:06.660 during the anti-mandate demonstrations,
00:27:09.360 and there was one instance where, small kerfuffle,
00:27:14.480 a lady hit me with her sign.
00:27:16.720 It was shocking to me at the time.
00:27:18.600 Now, in retrospect, it was kind of the minor incidents.
00:27:22.660 that I've encountered. But the situation was covered on global news. And, you know, in a fair
00:27:30.860 bit of detail, and it was presented as political violence, which I think was a fair characterization.
00:27:37.960 And yet, there has been no real coverage or interest, at least in the legacy outlets,
00:27:45.560 of what is a very clear pattern of political violence from people who profess to be progressive.
00:27:54.660 So there is a discrepancy there. And, you know, I don't really see much to address it. There's not
00:28:03.520 a political will or appetite. You know, I remember way back when, and we're talking
00:28:10.520 oh, almost 20 years ago now, when Occupy Wall Street was a thing. And it had a certain
00:28:18.020 resonance. That's where we heard the phrase, the one percenters, because it's true. A lot of banks 1.00
00:28:23.960 were bailed out using taxpayers' money. But that's an American story. On the Canadian side,
00:28:30.620 we actually didn't have any banks that failed. And there's various things you could credit for that.
00:28:36.180 But the movement was in Canada, too. They didn't call it Occupy Wall Street. They called it Occupy Toronto. And I went down there. I remember going down there and just really talking to whoever I could. It was very quickly apparent to me that these were not organic protests.
00:28:55.000 They were organized by people who do this for a living. And not only did I see the professional hand behind this protest, I started to see literally the same folks at any protest around town. The same folks at Occupy were at a meeting against a mining company. They were at a meeting against pipelines.
00:29:17.000 They were at an idle no more. That was an indigenous branch of Black Lives Matter, sort of the same template. And pretty soon I realized that it's the same pros all the time. You're out there almost every day. Is it the same thing? Is there some cadre of organizers and you see them just everywhere you go? 0.70
00:29:38.820 Not only is there that level of organization, I would wager that some of the same individuals I'm encountering are ones who you met back during the Occupy Toronto phase of things.
00:29:53.060 And if you were to ask the protesters, in fairness to them, part of the worldview that they hold is the various issues that they are protesting about are all interrelated.
00:30:06.580 And so if you care about Palestinian rights, then you must care about Indigenous rights and you must care about safe supply.
00:30:14.840 You must also care about pipelines and so on and so forth.
00:30:19.620 And I think that there is, you know, within that, an excuse that is built in for some of these more professional activists who cloak themselves in that interconnectedness between issues.
00:30:38.100 And even a step further, sometimes there are positions that are irreconcilable and you'll see people at both of those demonstrations.
00:30:50.320 So there's absolutely a pattern that has kept my interest in covering the protest circuit, understanding these recurring characters and what their motivations are and how they interface with genuinely people in good faith who show up to demonstrate and may not always appreciate or understand what led to the protest.
00:31:20.320 to the rally or protest that they are at it's not interesting you know i'm thinking back to
00:31:28.240 when i went to hamilton for a anti-pipelines protest and i met a different gaggle of professional
00:31:34.400 activists they all actually sort of lived together in what they called a collective
00:31:39.120 and it was i'm not going to call it a gang but they were sort of a let's say a club uh and
00:31:46.000 that's what they did. And it was interesting to me to see sort of the hierarchy, not just there,
00:31:51.120 but in other protests I've attended, they were sort of the university educated, polished,
00:31:57.680 well-heeled bosses. And then there were, I'm going to call them the pawns on the chessboard,
00:32:03.040 people who would risk arrest, people who would literally be on the street, some of whom I think
00:32:10.560 were in some states of arrested development some of whom were you had mental illness some of whom
00:32:17.360 were perhaps had been homeless and this was a way to get some money get some food get some social
00:32:24.160 community i mean um i'm not going to say the lady's name but i met someone who her way of fitting in
00:32:32.480 was to sleep with the guys i i'm sorry to say that's just i just really realized that some of
00:32:38.080 of the people who were out there were sort of victimized they were pushed forward they were
00:32:42.560 and i think it it might be the same today i'm not out there in the same way you are i saw this in
00:32:48.860 particular when i was looking at the protest against oil pipelines tell me what it's like
00:32:54.680 do you do you sense that sort of like it's a club of people or um there's some people who are maybe
00:33:00.440 being taken advantage of and weaponized there are definitely different roles within the protest
00:33:07.440 circuit um on occasion you will see the more well-polished people um run afoul of the law but
00:33:14.800 typically as you've pointed out that's not the front lines um i i have observed a level of
00:33:24.440 exploitation um and taking advantage of people who are vulnerable by whatever for whatever reason
00:33:32.040 based on their status right um and you know i've seen people be arrested after being incited um by
00:33:41.240 kind of their comrades uh so yes that that is still a feature of this um and i've seen youth
00:33:49.800 put in in those positions um you've mentioned people who are homeless or precariously housed
00:33:57.080 People who suffer from addiction, people who, you know, seek out this type of chaos and confrontation and are all too eager to be on those front lines.
00:34:12.460 So, yeah, I think everything that we're talking about is not necessarily apparent to the average Canadian who tunes in to their broadcast and maybe if it's covered at all, they're just getting a few second snippet of what's happening on the ground.
00:34:33.140 But the granular details really matter here.
00:34:35.960 Now, I was watching very carefully Secretary of State Marco Rubio's comments, and he talked about how it's not just police and legal immunity, some of these left-wing groups that engage in violence.
00:34:52.320 It's sort of an academic and a journalistic immunity that there's lots of studies and lots of academics looking at right-wing radicalization, but not a lot looking at Antifa, for example.
00:35:04.780 And when Antifa does commit violence, it's just, oh, those kids are at it again.
00:35:09.900 And in Canada, I think we're even worse than that.
00:35:13.420 There's a professor named Barbara Perry who has dined out for years on her allegation that there are 300 hate groups in Canada.
00:35:23.420 But bizarrely, she refuses to name who they are. 0.95
00:35:27.380 I think she's telling a porky. 1.00
00:35:29.820 I don't think that's true. 0.96
00:35:30.880 I think she maybe counted 300 people nationwide who go to right-wing protests and maybe made a typo once and is sort of stuck with her.
00:35:40.600 The reason I mentioned Barbara Perry and there's something called the Canadian Anti-Hate Network, it's such an industry, but they only point their eyes in one direction.
00:35:52.460 They only hunt for real or imaginary dangers on the right.
00:35:58.140 they never examine uh antifa for example they never speak out i remember when our friend alexa
00:36:06.060 was attacked in montreal by antifa not a word from the anti-hate types there's something really weird
00:36:11.860 about an academic field that only looks for violence and hate on the right when it's so
00:36:17.360 prevalent i think on the antifa left what do you think i think those are activists who are
00:36:22.760 practicing or performing as professors as opposed to people professors who are you know motivated
00:36:31.880 primarily by being inquisitive and having questions and trying to get to objective
00:36:40.260 answers and if you already have the answer before you start naturally the research will look a
00:36:46.820 certain way um and you know anyone who has done statistics or um kind of even more qualitative
00:36:55.740 research can say that that information depending on how you present it and what parameters you use
00:37:02.600 um can can tell a story um and it is very narrative driven i think um you also have in
00:37:10.740 canada this phenomenon of um let's say these movement type professionals are all supporting
00:37:21.180 one another so you have for example um a paper that is published and then it is cited in a
00:37:30.260 newspaper article and then that newspaper article is cited in something else and it's kind of we
00:37:38.500 copy paste and it reinforces um has anyone actually looked into it um the example of 300
00:37:46.680 hate groups um is is a good illustration of what might be missing the substance that isn't there
00:37:54.040 and if i'm not mistaken there have been efforts um to uncover and an active resistance like
00:38:04.840 litigation in order to keep this all private. So the lack of transparency, I think, is an issue.
00:38:11.940 And it's also an issue where federal funding that happens to align with the narrative that is being
00:38:19.280 promoted is subsidizing all of this work. So it becomes this mutually reinforcing,
00:38:28.760 almost impenetrable because if you are outside of whatever the orthodoxy is and those boundaries
00:38:37.860 are constantly shifting, you are ostracized. Boy, you said a lot of thoughtful things there
00:38:45.400 for sure. One of the things we try and do here, I mean, listen, Rebel News comes from a very clear
00:38:50.860 ideological background, but we have a saying, follow the facts wherever they lead. So if it is
00:38:56.480 a fact that someone who calls themselves conservative behaves badly, we have a duty to
00:39:01.780 report it as we see it. I mean, you want to change your theory to adapt to the facts,
00:39:06.080 not the other way around. Whereas I think a lot of these professors are pseudo-academics
00:39:12.920 and they're there to, you know, only to reinforce their existing beliefs. But I think the funding
00:39:19.500 is a big part of it. And I think that's one of the things that Marco Rubio was talking about
00:39:23.080 in the states yesterday because all of these things take money either you know to pay individual
00:39:30.340 organizers to do things like transportation or lawyers if they get in a pickle like there is a
00:39:38.140 lot of money behind it and I think Rubio wants to root around and the fact that they had their
00:39:43.620 treasury secretary there was very interesting because that's not normally you know a very
00:39:50.760 foreign affairs type position but it sounds like they want to use some of the same tools that they
00:39:56.700 used the financial tools that they might use sanctions against russia or tracking down
00:40:02.800 terrorism money sounds like they're going to use some of the same tools to go after funding of
00:40:08.000 antifa i think that could touch what's going on in canada because i think antifa is fairly active
00:40:14.340 up here. What do you think? I mean, we've already seen maybe a more unconventional route to tackle
00:40:23.200 the SPLC and the work that it's doing or purporting to do. So yes, this follow the money
00:40:31.740 appears to be the approach the Trump administration is taking. I wouldn't be surprised if in
00:40:42.280 constricting or constraining some of these financial entities who are fueling this,
00:40:50.940 that there are effects on Canada. For example, things like Code Pink have started to show up
00:40:59.260 in Ontario. And that, you know, has links to what's happening in the States and possibly
00:41:04.980 um foreign funding as well um you have sometimes nationwide demonstrations um including the no
00:41:13.620 kings no tyrants um right we had to rename it a little bit since canada does in fact have a king
00:41:20.960 um you know the the draw the line i think also has um some u.s connections um so and some of the
00:41:28.920 NGOs that are operating in this space um you know it's not always clear where the mining is coming
00:41:35.000 from especially if there are no reporting obligations um so some of this is just by
00:41:41.940 what's publicly available um but organizations like the tides foundation um are actively
00:41:48.640 supporting whether directly or through subsidiaries and people who are active in
00:41:54.100 Canada in this scene. So yes, if this happens, there is a chance that it will affect what we
00:42:03.220 see on Canadian streets. Well, it's going to be very interesting. And it may be, maybe I'm reading
00:42:09.980 too much into it that no senior Canadian officials were there. Maybe they were just sort of taking
00:42:14.680 notes and going to report back. But I'm not going to call it a snub. I'm not going to look for
00:42:19.020 some reason to politicize the choice of who went. But the thing about having a border with the
00:42:25.300 United States is if we have dramatically different policies with regards to crime or things like
00:42:31.860 that, the ease of going across that border might change in the future. And I hope it doesn't.
00:42:38.680 Karima, great to catch up with you. What's the best way that viewers can follow you? I like to

00:43:11.940 next
00:43:17.220 Hey, welcome back.
00:43:22.300 Your letters to me.
00:43:23.000 These are on Inky Mark, the 78-year-old man from Dauphin, Manitoba,
00:43:27.220 who was arrested for having collectible guns.
00:43:31.380 Free But Not 868 says,
00:43:34.540 RCMP are absolutely corrupted.
00:43:36.400 My home was broken into.
00:43:37.980 I had 30-plus firearms stolen.
00:43:40.140 The police never even went after the criminals, but they came after me,
00:43:43.160 initially for arms trafficking and insurance fraud.
00:43:45.900 I was never charged.
00:43:46.960 But after seven years, the court ordered the police to return my firearms.
00:43:50.740 After the court case, I signed off with the lawyer with things are good.
00:43:54.500 But two months later, I got a letter in the mail from my lawyer saying I had been given a five-year firearms ban.
00:43:59.640 This after they held a court session where I was not even notified.
00:44:03.080 Remember, I was told by my lawyer that it was over.
00:44:05.520 You know, that's a very frustrating story you've told there.
00:44:09.020 And the very fact that they're focusing on Inkey Mark rather than on the gangland shootings tells you everything you need to know.
00:44:14.560 um adg 2025 says the footage of past class well-behaved society is nice to see compared to
00:44:23.900 the today absolutely nothing nice classy or behave now yeah those old-timey um newsreels
00:44:30.000 from the 50s 60s 70s even early 80s um i really want to go back to that canada it's it's not that
00:44:38.380 i'm just nostalgic canada worked better it was more harmonious it was more free um i don't know
00:44:45.580 i just think that we're careening into a bad place chippy chick said olivia chow read a chapter out
00:44:51.680 of justin trudeau's pr pamphlet yeah i mean i'm just olivia chow she just goes dancing i think 0.69
00:44:59.560 i don't think she has a policy cell in her brain um her marxist staff run the city and like i say 0.98
00:45:06.540 like we talked about. They are absolutely in league with those who are calling for the decline
00:45:11.500 and decay of the West. They love it. They love tearing things down. Remember, they renamed
00:45:16.260 an area called Young Dundas Square. That's like the Times Square of Canada. They stripped the
00:45:21.940 names because Dundas apparently wasn't abolitionist enough. There were no slaves in Canada.
00:45:28.440 There were a handful of slaves in Canada. Most of them were indigenous people owned as slaves by 0.69
00:45:36.080 other indigenous people and to rename the heart of toronto because you accuse toronto being
00:45:41.820 anti-black genociders is it's just outrageous well that's our show for the day until next time
00:45:49.580 on behalf of all of us here at rebel world headquarters to you at home good night and keep
00:45:54.560 fighting for freedom
