Rebel News Podcast - Rebel News reporters assaulted, not protected by police — Why we need security more than ever

00:00:00.000 Hello Rebels. Today I tell you the first part of a story. The second part is tomorrow. The first part today is

00:00:05.700 we were kicked off of Toronto City Hall by a bunch of Antifa ruffians yesterday. So we went back again 1.00

00:00:14.680 today with not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, but seven professional

00:00:21.400 security guards. How do you think that went? Well, I'll tell you a little bit.

00:00:26.640 Uh, there's a lot of interesting footage. So I would invite you to become a subscriber to Rebel

00:00:31.840 News Plus. That's the video version of this podcast. I want you to see what we saw with our

00:00:37.360 eyes. If all you do is hear it, you'll just hear some shouting. We went down to this Antifa encampment

00:00:44.660 in Toronto with a bit of muscle. I'll show you how that goes. And the rest of the story will be out

00:00:49.440 tomorrow. Uh, to get the video form, go to rebelnews.com and click subscribe. It's just eight

00:00:55.520 bucks a month or 80 bucks for the whole year. I hope you do. Thanks. Here's the podcast.

00:01:14.520 Tonight, first Antifa protesters told our reporters to move. Then Toronto police did. What do you think

00:01:22.160 we should do? It's June 24th and this is the Ezra Levant Show.

00:01:28.160 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?

00:01:31.880 There's 8,500 customers here and you won't give them an answer.

00:01:35.960 The only thing I have to say to the government, the wire publisher, is because it's my bloody right

00:01:41.120 to do so.

00:01:41.820 I just got back to the studio. I was downtown all day. I haven't prepared a monologue as I

00:01:53.500 normally do, but I have a different experience to share with you what happened today and what's

00:01:59.500 been happening to us over the past few days. As you know, rebel reporters have sometimes been pushed

00:02:05.660 and shoved by left-wing activists who don't like the fact that we tell the other side of the story.

00:02:10.520 This goes back years, actually. Many of our staff have been punched or pushed. We make it a rule that

00:02:17.320 we always go to the police to press charges and where we can, we file a civil suit. One of the worst

00:02:23.700 moments in our company's history was when our friend Sheila Gunn-Reed was hit in the face by this thug

00:02:30.880 named Dionne Buse outside the Alberta legislature at, believe it or not, a women's march. Remember this?

00:02:37.740 I'm having a, I'm trying to have a conversation with you.

00:02:39.920 Go away. Get out of my fucking face. I will break your camera. You don't have the right to. 1.00

00:02:44.640 Whoa.

00:02:45.700 Calm down. Calm down.

00:02:47.160 You don't have the right to film me everywhere you go.

00:02:49.380 Yes, he does.

00:02:50.100 Yeah, he do. He just hit me in the face.

00:02:52.440 I find that, I found that absolutely atrocious. I found it even more atrocious that the NDP

00:02:57.740 feminist activists sided with him and helped him to escape. Alas, he could not escape. Dionne Buse

00:03:04.760 was convicted of a crime and we additionally sued him in civil court. That's what we do to people who

00:03:10.780 touch our reporters. Sometimes we don't always catch them. We've had people attack many of our

00:03:16.540 reporters over the years. Sometimes they just come right up and punch the camera like this one when

00:03:22.640 our cameraman Efron and David Menzies were outside a hotel in Toronto.

00:03:27.660 Oh, okay then. Would you like to come on camera and...

00:03:29.660 No, I would not. I would like to go off our property right now. I'd like you to stop taking my picture.

00:03:34.400 Hey, hey, excuse me. Take the picture. Take your picture.

00:03:36.960 Hey, hey, hey, hey. 0.99

00:03:37.740 Hey, get your rebel crap news out of here right now. 0.99

00:03:41.600 Why is it rebel crap news, sir? 0.99

00:03:43.660 Get out of our property. I'll call the police. 0.99

00:03:46.160 Sometimes the people attacking us are just plain old deranged, like Jonathan Yaniv and his kooky mum.

00:03:52.400 Look at them attack David Menzies, including with a cane. 0.98

00:03:56.100 Go away.

00:03:57.180 Huh?

00:03:57.760 Yes, I am.

00:03:59.020 Go away.

00:03:59.440 You go away. 0.75

00:04:00.680 Go away.

00:04:01.380 You're going to do it again?

00:04:02.700 You're going to do it again?

00:04:04.020 Go away.

00:04:04.400 Come on, get another shot.

00:04:05.380 Can you pick it up?

00:04:06.240 Go away.

00:04:07.320 Pick up my iPad.

00:04:08.820 Go away.

00:04:10.140 Go away. 0.93

00:04:10.880 Okay, that's the second shot. Did you see that, sir?

00:04:13.020 Go away.

00:04:14.280 Go away.

00:04:15.120 I do?

00:04:16.260 Go.

00:04:16.800 That way.

00:04:17.520 Go away.

00:04:18.120 Go.

00:04:18.560 This is a common parking lot.

00:04:20.740 You're not that lucky.

00:04:21.500 Okay, you have McAbee twice with your cane.

00:04:24.380 Go.

00:04:24.980 Get away. 0.97

00:04:25.740 You're lucky I don't beat up girls or fake girls. 0.99

00:04:28.800 Oh, now you too, eh? 0.98

00:04:30.020 Go away.

00:04:30.640 Go away. 0.61

00:04:32.120 You go away.

00:04:32.820 Get off the property.

00:04:33.560 Okay, that's four shots.

00:04:35.020 Get off the property.

00:04:35.880 Go away.

00:04:36.380 Huh?

00:04:36.800 Go.

00:04:37.400 You go away.

00:04:37.940 Excuse me.

00:04:39.000 Get off the property.

00:04:40.780 Look.

00:04:41.240 Go away.

00:04:41.700 There's lots of eyewitnesses.

00:04:43.320 I don't care.

00:04:43.700 Go away.

00:04:44.240 Go away. 1.00

00:04:44.680 You are a provoker. 0.97

00:04:47.020 I'm a provoker?

00:04:48.180 Hey, hey.

00:04:48.720 Go away.

00:04:49.280 Get away from him.

00:04:50.260 That's okay.

00:04:50.980 Please, I'm really hoping for the cops to come.

00:04:53.020 No, no, no.

00:04:53.560 Go away.

00:04:54.400 Go away.

00:04:55.280 Yaniv is out of control.

00:04:56.780 He also attacked Kian Bexty.

00:04:59.120 Remember this?

00:05:01.940 Yaniv, will you be pleading guilty?

00:05:03.700 What?

00:05:04.220 Go.

00:05:04.320 No, don't touch me.

00:05:05.460 Don't touch me.

00:05:05.820 Go.

00:05:06.200 Hey.

00:05:06.820 Hey.

00:05:07.260 Hey. 0.99

00:05:07.320 You're a provoker. 0.99

00:05:07.820 You're a provoker. 0.99

00:05:09.320 Stop. 1.00

00:05:10.720 Go away from me.

00:05:11.920 Go away.

00:05:12.380 In each of those cases, we have applied to the police department to take steps.

00:05:17.160 And even if they don't, we go to civil court.

00:05:19.440 We are suing Yaniv right now.

00:05:22.500 But something deeply troubling has happened to our society in general the last month.

00:05:28.260 All these things I've just listed for you, all these attacks on our people are individual,

00:05:34.700 unconnected episodes. 0.85

00:05:36.740 They're a deranged kook like Yaniv. 1.00

00:05:38.700 They're an agitated New Democrat activist like Dion Buse.

00:05:42.420 They're a momentary, ad hoc thing.

00:05:46.060 They're not part of a sustained pattern.

00:05:48.360 Oh, yes, there's a pattern that the left feels comfortable punching the right in a way

00:05:53.240 that a conservative would never do to a liberal journalist.

00:05:55.540 I haven't heard of any other journalist in Canada ever being attacked on the job, except

00:06:00.880 for us.

00:06:01.360 Have you?

00:06:02.260 But something has changed recently.

00:06:04.900 Antifa, the street thugs of the left, the paramilitary wing of the left-wing parties,

00:06:10.640 have taken to the streets en masse.

00:06:12.880 In the United States, it's been positively deadly.

00:06:15.220 But here in Canada, there's just lots of pushing and shoving. 0.96

00:06:18.620 Our Antifa are a little bit cowardly, I suppose. 0.96

00:06:21.820 Those are not quite as insane as they are in America, but they still punch, and they 0.97

00:06:26.180 still hurt, and they would do much more if they could.

00:06:28.780 We started seeing this, so we started to deploy private security guards.

00:06:33.540 Now, whenever I mention this, people volunteer.

00:06:35.640 I get emails every day because a lot of our rebel viewers are former police or people with

00:06:41.720 security training, former military.

00:06:44.320 And I say the same thing to each of them.

00:06:46.860 I thank them for their offer, but I explain we absolutely need professional, licensed,

00:06:53.260 insured security who are compliant with the laws and, frankly, who know what they're doing.

00:06:58.760 Sometimes we just have big, burly guys who say, I'll protect you.

00:07:01.080 No, I don't want that.

00:07:02.260 I want someone who, if things go sideways, there's insurance over them.

00:07:06.380 They're trained.

00:07:07.080 And the training includes when to leave, because sometimes people who want to be a volunteer

00:07:14.340 bodyguard, well, sometimes they're actually looking for a fight.

00:07:17.540 We don't want that.

00:07:18.420 Sometimes the smart move is just to get out.

00:07:21.280 So we have taken to hiring professional bodyguards for our staff.

00:07:26.000 Let me give you an example.

00:07:27.440 When we sent Sheila Gunn-Reed out to cover Yaniv, the madman, we sent two bodyguards with

00:07:33.300 her.

00:07:33.820 And I'm glad we did, because look at this moment.

00:07:35.560 Sheila's at the courthouse in Vancouver, Yaniv and his mom come barreling towards her,

00:07:39.840 and the two bodyguards who are out of frame in the camera suddenly go, whoop, and form

00:07:43.940 a wall protecting Sheila.

00:07:45.480 Remember this?

00:07:46.380 Nathan, are you going to plead guilty to assaulting my colleague, Kian Bexty?

00:07:50.880 Rebel Media.

00:07:51.400 Go on to the LCCP.

00:07:52.380 Rebel Media.

00:07:53.200 Hey! 0.99

00:07:54.160 Okay, keep your hands off me.

00:07:55.880 Whoa, whoa.

00:07:56.820 Are you going to plead guilty for assaulting my colleague, Kian Bexty?

00:08:00.900 That was amazing.

00:08:01.920 Those two security were so professional.

00:08:03.780 They were inconspicuous.

00:08:05.380 They were not in the story until, whoop, they just closed like a pair of doors and protected

00:08:09.700 Sheila.

00:08:10.080 I'm sure if they didn't do that, Yaniv would have smashed her the same way he smashed David

00:08:15.660 Menzies and Kian Bexty.

00:08:17.580 But back to Antifa.

00:08:19.780 We have taken to hiring security guards all the time.

00:08:23.200 We sent David, as you know, to Kingston, Ontario to watch as Canada's ragtag Antifa wanted to tear

00:08:29.760 down the Johnny McDonald statue.

00:08:31.800 They didn't come prepared for it.

00:08:33.620 They just egged it.

00:08:34.640 We had a professional security guard with him, but it still got pretty bad.

00:08:39.500 I showed you a bit of this.

00:08:40.460 Take a look.

00:08:42.160 Time to go.

00:08:43.480 Time to go.

00:08:45.880 Time to go.

00:08:46.820 As you can see, these people, it's a park.

00:08:50.640 It's a public park.

00:08:51.360 Get your boy out.

00:08:57.440 Get your boy out.

00:08:59.160 We're going to get egged.

00:09:01.020 Get out.

00:09:01.940 What, you're going to threaten me by throwing an egg at me, sir?

00:09:05.220 Don't.

00:09:06.300 Get out of here.

00:09:07.280 It's a public park.

00:09:09.640 Whoa.

00:09:10.780 Let's move over.

00:09:11.720 Oh, you're a tough guy behind that mask, aren't you?

00:09:13.820 Get out.

00:09:14.680 Oh, and you too.

00:09:15.600 Get out.

00:09:16.460 Huh?

00:09:16.700 Is this, this is your idea?

00:09:18.520 Let's go.

00:09:19.200 Get your boy.

00:09:19.860 Hey, we're going to lose that camera, kid.

00:09:23.260 We're going to lose it.

00:09:24.080 Go.

00:09:24.500 Go.

00:09:25.120 This is, hey.

00:09:25.900 Don't touch me.

00:09:26.520 Don't touch him.

00:09:27.880 The security guard wanted to pull David away.

00:09:30.040 That's what a security guard does.

00:09:31.580 He leans towards caution.

00:09:32.920 David wanted to go in.

00:09:34.060 I think the tension between the two of them, it worked out just fine.

00:09:37.560 David got the story he wanted, and he showed that he wasn't going to back down.

00:09:41.080 But our security guard, I think, held David back a bit.

00:09:44.060 Frankly, he did Antifa a favor.

00:09:45.660 But that upset me.

00:09:46.420 And so I said to David, when he called me that day, I said, David, your next event, we're

00:09:51.820 going to have two security guards, including one for your cameraman.

00:09:56.940 You'll notice that the cameraman is often attacked, too.

00:09:59.660 So we sent David and a cameraman and two security guards down to City Hall.

00:10:06.620 And then we sent another journalist, Andrew, who's just joined our team, and a cameraman

00:10:11.340 to downtown Toronto City Hall also.

00:10:14.760 So we had a grand total of four security guards.

00:10:17.780 And I was thinking to myself, we've got them very well covered.

00:10:21.240 That's one security guard per body.

00:10:25.000 In fact, there was a moment of time when it was just one journalist and one cameraman.

00:10:29.980 We had four security guards.

00:10:31.880 So that's a lot of security.

00:10:33.980 But what happened was, well, let me show you a little bit of what happened at Toronto City

00:10:38.860 Hall.

00:10:39.300 This was just the other day.

00:10:41.220 See, Toronto City Hall security ordered our private security guards off the property.

00:11:02.220 They said they would charge them a trespass.

00:11:04.180 Otherwise, our lawyers weren't there.

00:11:06.020 So our private security left.

00:11:08.760 And you could see what happened.

00:11:09.820 They literally chased our cameraman, Mocha, around.

00:11:13.000 Now, they didn't physically hurt them, but not for lack of trying.

00:11:16.160 They were wild.

00:11:17.220 And all the while, Toronto City Hall was just fine with it.

00:11:20.660 In fact, they ordered Mocha, our cameraman, off. 0.96

00:11:24.800 Mocha had been chased around by these Antifa losers. 0.94

00:11:28.220 I mean, it wasn't particularly violent, but they were being chased. 0.92

00:11:30.860 Our security guards had been sent away.

00:11:32.600 They shouldn't have left, but they did.

00:11:34.520 And then City Hall security said to Mocha, what are you doing here?

00:11:38.860 Here's how that went.

00:11:39.780 And I like how Mocha stood up for his rights.

00:11:41.720 Take a look at that.

00:11:42.480 One minute.

00:11:43.520 Sir?

00:11:44.180 Yeah.

00:11:44.840 What are you?

00:11:45.460 What's your purpose here?

00:11:46.740 I'm a cameraman.

00:11:47.780 Can I see your camera?

00:11:48.980 Are you going to stop me instead of them trying to block me?

00:11:51.520 I'm asking you.

00:11:52.720 Do you answer me?

00:11:53.700 I don't have to provide you anything.

00:11:55.280 Okay.

00:11:55.600 Just like they don't have to provide anything to you.

00:11:58.040 I'm not harassing them.

00:11:59.340 They're following me.

00:12:00.140 You are in their space.

00:12:01.640 Oh, this is their space.

00:12:02.640 Occupy.

00:12:03.860 Can you please stop?

00:12:05.320 No.

00:12:05.960 So we actually had four security guards with Mocha and David and Andrew yesterday,

00:12:12.940 but they were pushed out too easily.

00:12:16.640 I thought we had it well covered.

00:12:17.940 I thought four security guards.

00:12:19.460 That's a small squad.

00:12:21.060 That's a whole army, but nonetheless, our security was pushed out by Toronto City Hall

00:12:27.960 security, and then Toronto police, real cops, I'm not talking about mall cops, said to David

00:12:34.020 that if he didn't leave, he would be charged with trespass, and the reason that was so shocking

00:12:39.920 is that the story that Mocha and Andrew and David and our whole crew were there to report

00:12:45.140 on was an encampment, an urban tent city, a slum set up literally on the plaza outside Toronto City Hall

00:12:52.900 in a square called Nathan Phillips Square.

00:12:55.420 It's the town center of Toronto.

00:12:58.280 Political rallies, festivals, celebrations.

00:13:00.600 It's the center of the city.

00:13:02.740 These squatters had set up a tent city there, Antifa style.

00:13:08.620 David and the rest of our team was there and reported on it.

00:13:10.800 But City Hall security sent away our security, told our people they were trespassing, but

00:13:17.420 we're leaving this slum there. 1.00

00:13:20.840 I mean, it's one thing when mall style, mall cops at Toronto security say to leave, but

00:13:25.380 when an actual Toronto police officer says it, look at this guy, and look at him implying

00:13:30.480 that the orders came from on high.

00:13:32.640 Yes, sir.

00:13:33.300 How you doing?

00:13:33.740 Good.

00:13:38.860 Just a...

00:13:39.740 Not you.

00:13:41.560 Oh, he's with me, sir.

00:13:42.400 I know.

00:13:43.000 It's a private conversation, so...

00:13:44.400 You can record from outside.

00:13:46.460 You can record from outside.

00:13:47.420 Yes, sir.

00:13:47.840 So this isn't probably the best time to be coming here and doing this.

00:13:50.480 I understand what you're trying to do.

00:13:52.220 Okay.

00:13:52.580 It's not the best time.

00:13:53.580 Okay?

00:13:54.020 So...

00:13:54.300 Are you telling me to come at nighttime, sir?

00:13:58.160 So, like I said, so for today, City Hall security and their staff, they're trespassing you,

00:14:04.600 okay?

00:14:04.720 So we're going to have to escort you off the property.

00:14:07.200 Let me get this straight.

00:14:08.140 They're saying, as a taxpayer, I am trespassing?

00:14:14.920 You're getting trespassed, so we're going to ask you to leave politically, okay?

00:14:17.920 You mean they're not being charged with trespassing?

00:14:20.080 Why this double standard?

00:14:21.100 If you want to take it up with City Hall, you can.

00:14:23.220 Okay?

00:14:23.460 So this is their property, so they're the ones that are trespassing you.

00:14:26.080 Sir, just to be clear, I'm not causing the disturbance.

00:14:29.120 I'm practicing journalism.

00:14:30.740 These people are being belligerent and physically violent to us.

00:14:33.560 Sir, it takes two parties.

00:14:35.600 It takes two, right?

00:14:36.580 You know what I'm saying?

00:14:37.320 So, I guess...

00:14:38.160 Well, I thought we had freedom of the press.

00:14:40.180 I thought we had freedom of speech here in Toronto.

00:14:42.760 And you do.

00:14:43.680 But like I said, it's not black and white.

00:14:45.540 Well, I watched that and I was deeply troubled because I have promised our team here at Rebel

00:14:50.660 News that we will protect them as best we can.

00:14:54.540 We will sue people who hurt them as we sued Dion Buse.

00:14:58.620 But I would much rather protect someone in the first place than sue after the fact.

00:15:04.020 I would rather spend $1,000 or $2,000 on security rather than $30,000 chasing down someone who

00:15:12.260 assaulted us.

00:15:12.940 And more to the point, I don't want our people getting punched or kicked or, God forbid, worse.

00:15:17.780 So we had sent four professional security at great expense.

00:15:23.460 And they were brushed away and we were threatened by the police itself.

00:15:29.180 I saw this yesterday and I said, this cannot stand.

00:15:36.720 I mean, either we have freedom of the press and the right to assemble in a town square

00:15:43.000 in the largest city in the country, peacefully, or we don't.

00:15:46.960 And I happen to say we do have that freedom.

00:15:48.960 And I'm backed up by centuries of tradition, including, if you want to get down to it,

00:15:52.680 Section 2B of our Charter of Rights and Freedoms and Section 1 of Diefenbaker's Bill

00:15:57.600 of Freedoms, Bill of Rights, excuse me.

00:16:01.580 So I said, we're not going to stand for this.

00:16:04.460 So we arranged for a team of seven security guards, tougher ones.

00:16:12.680 We called our lawyer, our free speech lawyer, Aaron Rosenberg.

00:16:15.820 We said, you're coming too.

00:16:17.220 We had eight people.

00:16:18.200 And I said, I'm going down to Mocha and Ephron, our cameraman, and Andrew and David and myself

00:16:26.240 and a couple of others.

00:16:27.760 We had, all together, we had 15 rebels there.

00:16:32.740 A lot of them holding cameras from different angles with different instructions.

00:16:36.040 Some people to film the action up close, others to stand further back and not even get

00:16:40.640 into the fray, but film everything.

00:16:41.920 So we went down there today with seven security.

00:16:48.780 Now, it was quite a day.

00:16:51.260 We just came back to the office.

00:16:53.580 We're still editing the footage.

00:16:55.620 We'll have the full video for you out, we hope, tomorrow.

00:17:01.140 But I want to give you a little bit of a taste of how it went.

00:17:05.740 Here, take a look at this when we first arrived.

00:17:07.600 How are you doing?

00:17:14.520 How are you?

00:17:15.520 Fernando.

00:17:16.100 Fernando, how are you doing?

00:17:17.240 Steve.

00:17:17.720 Steve, how are you?

00:17:21.000 Hey, people here now!

00:17:23.820 There's a counter.

00:17:25.620 He mumbles incoherently.

00:17:27.560 I think he's doing some kind of livestream broadcast.

00:17:30.540 Yes.

00:17:31.340 You guys, we can do that if we want to.

00:17:33.760 Is that your idea for you?

00:17:35.280 Is that your idea for you?

00:17:36.260 When they saw we weren't going to leave, things got violent.

00:17:46.180 Let's go.

00:17:48.860 Come on, let's go. 0.98

00:17:50.700 Let's go. 0.97

00:17:52.380 What the hell? 0.88

00:17:53.260 I swear to God, too much. 0.99

00:17:53.940 Don't touch my God.

00:17:54.700 Come on, man.

00:17:55.660 Come on, man.

00:17:57.040 Come on, man.

00:17:57.700 Come on.

00:17:58.600 All this time, Toronto City Hall Security was standing and watching, twiddling their thumbs,

00:18:06.720 doing nothing, not trying to keep the peace themselves, just watching, and not even calling

00:18:11.260 911.

00:18:11.860 I went to Toronto City Hall Security to ask for their help, and they told me I was breaking

00:18:20.620 the law by even being there.

00:18:22.620 Take a look at this.

00:18:23.400 What's your purpose here?

00:18:25.140 My purpose here is to do some journalism.

00:18:28.320 All right.

00:18:28.680 So right now, what you're doing is causing a disturbance with everybody here.

00:18:33.500 I need to ask you to leave, okay?

00:18:35.360 What have I done to cause a disturbance?

00:18:37.840 I need you to leave the property.

00:18:39.940 And what have I done to cause a disturbance?

00:18:41.580 Causing disturbance, sir.

00:18:42.640 I need you to leave the property.

00:18:44.060 You have been cautioned, and I've said it.

00:18:47.480 It is loud and clear.

00:18:49.000 You have been cautioned.

00:18:50.200 I need you to leave the property.

00:18:52.280 I've been trespassing you, okay?

00:18:53.700 For causing disturbance.

00:18:54.820 But I have...

00:18:56.000 But what did I do to cause a disturbance?

00:18:59.460 See around you.

00:19:00.820 I need you to leave.

00:19:02.380 And all you're through, you've been trespassing the property.

00:19:05.080 If you have a formal notice, we'll take a look at it.

00:19:07.280 But right now, you need a verbal notice, trespass notice.

00:19:14.060 You guys, you're getting trespassing.

00:19:18.300 Well, what would you do?

00:19:20.440 What would you do?

00:19:21.760 There were no police.

00:19:23.240 There was dozens of thugs.

00:19:25.000 City Hall security told us we were breaking the law and to leave the property.

00:19:30.500 Well, I don't want to tell you the whole story today because I don't have the footage edited yet.

00:19:34.980 But tomorrow, we'll reveal what happened.

00:19:37.040 And how we took a stand today, not just against the violent thugs of Antifa,

00:19:44.060 but against City Hall itself and the Toronto police force who wanted us to leave

00:19:52.380 and wanted the protesters to rule the roost. 0.87

00:19:56.440 I don't know if you've been following the Seattle CHAZ.

00:19:59.660 It's called Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone.

00:20:03.440 It's a little few square blocks of anarchy in Seattle where the police have abandoned the place.

00:20:09.760 And the left-wing mayor says, oh, it's a free love experiment.

00:20:12.840 No, it's not. 0.74

00:20:13.800 It's a place of actual murder and rape and drugs and lawlessness and a ganglord, a warlord named Raz.

00:20:23.960 It's Lord of the Flies.

00:20:25.860 And it's happening, of course, in a Democrat-run city.

00:20:28.620 At least there, though, the police aren't enforcing it.

00:20:31.260 That's the whole point.

00:20:31.920 It's a police-free zone.

00:20:33.480 In Toronto, in front of the Toronto City Hall, it's a knockoff of that.

00:20:39.140 It's a pale imitation.

00:20:40.620 But the police are actually helping to enforce this anarchy zone.

00:20:44.880 I don't mean to tease you or leave you high and dry.

00:20:48.240 I just don't have the footage ready.

00:20:50.120 We just got back to the office.

00:20:51.620 I'll have the whole report for you tomorrow, including my extended conversation with the police.

00:20:58.660 And I'll show you how it ended.

00:21:01.100 But let me tell you this right now.

00:21:03.680 Between the last few days, between the lawyer we brought down and the seven security today and the four yesterday, we have over $8,000 worth of expenses just to fight for our freedom of the press.

00:21:20.060 And I said to the team today, no other media company would ever pay these prices to report.

00:21:26.240 And it wasn't that we were that interested in these urine-soaked protesters. 0.99

00:21:30.420 It's that if we don't have the freedom of the press to stand outside Toronto City Hall and peacefully report the news, then none of us have that freedom.

00:21:38.780 And you know what?

00:21:39.860 All the other media companies don't care because they're either pro-Antifa, like the CBC, or they're just obedient now.

00:21:47.420 They take their bailout from Justin Trudeau and work their solid 35 hours a week and they're done.

00:21:53.480 We're the only people fighting.

00:21:54.760 I'll tell you how it's resolved tomorrow, and I hope you're proud of what we did.

00:22:01.340 Stay with us for more.

00:22:13.860 Hey, welcome back.

00:22:14.760 Well, the man who has led the charge in Ontario, especially against Antifa, is our friend David Mentes.

00:22:21.300 And I was with him downtown Toronto at City Hall today.

00:22:25.240 And like I said a moment ago, we don't have all the footage processed.

00:22:28.320 We just got back to the office.

00:22:29.860 Frankly, we're still a little bit adrenalized by it.

00:22:32.520 But I'd like to talk with David about it and how it went today.

00:22:35.760 David, great to see you, and congratulations on your work through the pandemic.

00:22:38.940 Not only your coverage of Antifa, but your coverage of the airports, the virus, your coverage of fight the fines, civil liberties.

00:22:45.800 It's been very interesting.

00:22:47.260 But in the last few weeks, the physical violence and the threat of violence in Canada against rebel journalists,

00:22:55.560 and rebel journalists only, is the worst I've ever seen it.

00:23:00.120 It's amazing, isn't it, Ezra?

00:23:01.780 First of all, the left, the progressives, they always talk about love, Trump's hate.

00:23:06.000 And then the first ones, they'll literally throw a bottle off your head, is what happened to me in Kingston.

00:23:11.700 Yeah, the other thing that is notable, Ezra, is that I know our critics, our haters, they'll say,

00:23:18.300 well, you go into a group that is diametrically opposed to you politically.

00:23:22.440 What do you expect to do by asking triggering questions?

00:23:26.060 And yet, when I went to Kingston, we were 60 metres away from the protesters in front of the Sir John A. Macdonald statue.

00:23:33.200 I was just doing my stand-up.

00:23:34.780 Why we're there, what the protest is about.

00:23:36.920 And like ants to an open jam jar, they came to us dropping F-bombs, using all kinds of slurs.

00:23:43.740 And today at City Hall, or I think I'm going to start calling it Silly Hall, like our friend Sue Ann Levy does at The Sun,

00:23:50.980 we went to report on an illegal occupation of a filthy tent city. 0.82

00:23:58.020 And one of the so-called rules, it's not a real rule, it's a fake rule, is you do not go in the circle

00:24:04.440 because they're playing the, this is also a native spiritual circle, a sacred circle that you cannot go in.

00:24:12.380 And so they've, they've one-upped Antifa in Seattle with their autonomous zone that way.

00:24:16.660 And we were reporting from outside the circle.

00:24:19.700 And again, like ants to an open jam jar, they come looking for trouble.

00:24:23.940 Yeah.

00:24:24.100 And by the way, there is no such thing as having a protest and having the right not to be covered by journalists.

00:24:33.180 I mean, that's the whole thing about a protest.

00:24:34.920 It's a public protest in a public place.

00:24:37.220 You have signs, you're making a message.

00:24:39.260 It is not only lawful and proper for journalists to come and ask questions,

00:24:43.560 that should sort of be evident that that was your point.

00:24:47.500 You can't pick and choose which journalists come to cover it.

00:24:49.780 But what was so interesting today is we didn't even have a chance to say anything.

00:24:54.880 And they swarmed us and they were, they got violent fairly quickly.

00:25:00.420 Now, street urchins, professional protesters, thugs, and there are some genuine homeless people

00:25:05.280 and mentally ill people who just sort of find a temporary sense of community. 1.00

00:25:09.380 Like you're a homeless person on the street with some mental illness.

00:25:12.320 It's a very lonely life, I imagine.

00:25:14.280 And then every once in a while you see these tent cities, you say, oh, good, people I can talk to,

00:25:17.940 hang out with, whatever, just some social company.

00:25:21.540 So you have some genuine troubled cases, but they're being run by professional protesters,

00:25:27.480 they're being financed, and there's that Antifa hidden hand there behind it all.

00:25:35.100 That's all to be expected.

00:25:37.320 What is less expected and completely unacceptable in my mind is that City Hall security,

00:25:44.780 I call them mall cops because they're not real police, and then Toronto police are not just

00:25:50.480 deferential to these protesters and their illegal slum, but are sort of running interference

00:25:56.420 for them, pushing us out, threatening us with arrest.

00:26:00.140 That's what's shocking, at least in the United States.

00:26:02.660 I mean, some police have abnegated themselves by taking a knee and some have lying flat.

00:26:07.900 But you don't have American police actually leading the mob.

00:26:16.160 At most, they bow to the mob themselves.

00:26:18.420 But here in Toronto, City Hall police and Toronto police were enforcing the mob's orders against

00:26:24.440 you and me.

00:26:25.620 And I want to cut some slack, Ezra, for the man and woman on the beat.

00:26:30.480 That's not their decision.

00:26:32.000 They're being told to by their hires up.

00:26:34.060 And I should say that we always believe in fair comments.

00:26:37.400 So I reached out to Mayor John Tory's office.

00:26:40.540 No comment.

00:26:41.280 I reached out to Brad Rossi, the official spokesman for the City of Toronto.

00:26:45.180 And Brad is usually great at getting back to me within hours.

00:26:48.080 No comment.

00:26:48.980 It's been more than 24 hours.

00:26:51.020 And yeah, law enforcement is aiding and abetting basically the thugs that...

00:26:59.340 Let's not forget, the ostensible policy reason for this sit-in, it says so on a giant red

00:27:06.140 and white poster, Ezra, is abolish the police.

00:27:09.980 Not defund the police. 0.99

00:27:11.460 Not, you know, give them a budgetary kick in the shins. 0.85

00:27:15.220 But actually get rid of the police.

00:27:17.200 And again, to address your earlier point, when it comes to articulating their point of view,

00:27:23.060 which is what you'd think is the whole rationale behind a protest and behind a demonstration,

00:27:29.220 they are thoroughly unable to do so.

00:27:31.440 The best comment I got when I asked one of the people in the Nathan Phillips Square protest,

00:27:38.160 how does abolishing the police help people who are being victimized, people in danger?

00:27:43.200 And her response was, I'm paraphrasing, but it's on the tape,

00:27:45.800 it was along the lines of, well, when we abolish the police, we won't have any bad guys.

00:27:53.020 Implying that all the bad guys are in the building.

00:27:56.140 I think we've got that clip.

00:27:57.320 Let's see if we can find it here.

00:27:58.760 Let's take a look.

00:27:59.560 I don't want to get into history.

00:28:00.880 I want to get into current events.

00:28:02.000 If you want to abolish the police, ma'am,

00:28:04.280 who do we call when the bad guys harass people? 0.72

00:28:08.040 The bad guys can get the f*** out of here.

00:28:10.560 It's your people that did this, had this mindset in here. 0.92

00:28:13.140 Our people were peaceful people before they came here.

00:28:15.800 You know, I watched your questions.

00:28:20.120 I didn't really interact with the protesters.

00:28:21.720 That wasn't my purpose.

00:28:22.580 My purpose today was to show that the rebel news will not be pushed off the town square.

00:28:27.100 I'm not interested in talking to those people.

00:28:28.620 They're very incoherent.

00:28:29.820 I don't think they particularly regard themselves as an intellectual movement.

00:28:33.300 They're just a physical movement.

00:28:35.040 They're the street gangs of the left.

00:28:37.280 They're not the debate society people. 0.93

00:28:39.440 I think it's a fool's errand to try and interview these people, 0.99

00:28:42.120 other than to show how ridiculous they are. 0.99

00:28:43.860 One of our other reporters, Andrew, went down and tried to have like a college dorm type. 0.98

00:28:49.180 Let's really figure it out, man.

00:28:50.520 They're not built for that.

00:28:51.600 They're not there for that.

00:28:52.400 They're there for probably getting about $100 a day cash.

00:28:56.400 A lot of them are getting drugs and alcohol.

00:28:59.160 And some of them are getting a feeling of community.

00:29:01.200 But they're not there to talk the opposite.

00:29:04.120 I mean, people talk at the ballot.

00:29:05.560 People talk in newspaper columns and call-in shows.

00:29:09.220 They're there as the opposite of that.

00:29:10.600 They're a physical threat.

00:29:12.320 And that's what's so appalling about Mayor John Tory abiding them.

00:29:16.200 And we're in Toronto, so he's the mayor we see.

00:29:19.740 But every big city mayor across North America is a mayor of the left.

00:29:24.680 And they all capitulate.

00:29:26.140 But, you know, it's even more so here, Ezra, I think, when you compare to Seattle.

00:29:31.760 Now, granted, Seattle, that autonomous zone encompasses a police precinct.

00:29:37.020 Which is being abandoned, though.

00:29:38.040 Yes, indeed.

00:29:38.920 Here in Toronto, it would be like the police where they're enforcing the warlord's views.

00:29:43.540 Well, this is it.

00:29:44.380 But this protest, Nathan Phillips Square, is the actual square, if you've never been to Toronto, folks,

00:29:49.400 where Toronto City Hall is based on.

00:29:51.560 It is the seat of municipal government.

00:29:53.640 It is the barbarians have come to the castle.

00:29:56.200 And King John Tory has taken a knee.

00:29:58.700 And not only that, he wants to make it comfortable for them.

00:30:02.020 There are porta-potties for this illegal encampment.

00:30:05.440 Meanwhile, those practicing journalism, such as myself yesterday and today, as we saw,

00:30:11.900 we're told to get off the public square or else face trespassing charges.

00:30:17.440 You know, and that's the thing.

00:30:18.800 I mean, I do a daily show.

00:30:20.580 Occasionally I go and travel and do journalism outside the office.

00:30:23.740 I always enjoy it.

00:30:24.700 And, I mean, for example, I would, before the pandemic, I would go to the U.K.

00:30:29.100 about once a month to cover some interesting free speech or Tommy Robinson matter.

00:30:33.280 And I'd occasionally go out.

00:30:34.500 But I would really enjoy it.

00:30:35.680 But I'm busy.

00:30:36.520 You know, I've got to do my show.

00:30:38.080 We've got to run the company.

00:30:40.160 But, and I myself, I don't think I would have gone down to interview some ragamuffins. 1.00

00:30:45.600 But when I saw the footage of the security guards and the cops saying,

00:30:50.460 no peaceful journalists, but yes to these violent protesters,

00:30:55.320 I thought, we must take a stand.

00:30:57.300 And you know what?

00:30:57.880 There was a time so long ago, maybe it was in the last century, the 20th century,

00:31:04.100 where every media outlet would have been appalled by police censorship,

00:31:09.960 by partisan policing, by any infringements of speech.

00:31:14.220 But here we are in an era where Trudeau bans us from asking questions at press conferences.

00:31:20.220 Not a single mainstream media journalist cares.

00:31:22.840 Where our reporter, Kian Bexte, is frog marched out of a press conference by RCMP,

00:31:28.500 holding his arm behind his back.

00:31:30.000 Not a word from any other journalist.

00:31:31.600 We're in court fighting Trudeau in two separate lawsuits.

00:31:36.080 No other journalist other than our friends at True North.

00:31:38.480 And you and I, and the reason I, my long point here,

00:31:42.180 is the reason I got up out of the office, went downtown,

00:31:44.700 is because I thought, I don't even care about the protesters.

00:31:47.260 I mean, I do care about them.

00:31:49.000 But what I really care about is that the right to report safely, freely, peacefully

00:31:55.900 is being trumped by these thugs.

00:31:58.360 And that cannot stand.

00:32:00.560 If we are to live, I mean, every day I end my show, keep fighting for freedom.

00:32:05.060 Well, either I mean it or I don't.

00:32:06.920 And today we went down there to prove that we mean it.

00:32:09.080 And as I said before you came on, we got so much footage,

00:32:12.640 I want to give writers the time to make a good job out of it.

00:32:14.840 And I don't want to give away the ending of how the story ended.

00:32:17.260 But that's a must-see show that we're going to put on tomorrow.

00:32:19.300 Yeah, and Ezra, to your point, I think it's because we now truly do live in a world of cancel culture.

00:32:25.040 And I think members of the media agree with the cancellation of an offensive viewpoint.

00:32:30.300 Listen, I remember going back...

00:32:31.580 They just canceled Margaret Wenny. 0.52

00:32:32.480 Margaret Wenny, they tried to take out Rex Burford. 0.97

00:32:34.040 They took out Wendy Mesley, to which I say, what a shame.

00:32:37.060 She canceled so many in her days.

00:32:38.980 Every day someone else goes down.

00:32:40.740 Jessica Mulroney.

00:32:42.620 And then the person who named Jessica Mulroney, who shamed and named her, 0.99

00:32:47.120 she was revealed to be a racist herself.

00:32:48.900 It's never ending.

00:32:49.820 Jimmy Kimmel, it just never stopped.

00:32:51.300 And Ben Mulroney stepping down for allegedly offensive viewpoints of his wife.

00:32:56.320 But, you know, you remember in yesterdecade, in the United States, which has the First Amendment,

00:33:02.540 you would have the American Civil Liberties Union.

00:33:05.240 They would go to bat for such odious individuals as neo-Nazis marching through a Jewish neighborhood, 0.93

00:33:11.480 Ku Klux Klan marching through a black neighborhood. 0.99

00:33:13.680 And it was disgusting, it was filthy rhetoric, but it was an example of free speech. 0.96

00:33:19.840 And typically you'd have, you know, people screaming on the sides,

00:33:22.780 but they were that committed to freedom of speech.

00:33:25.860 Now it's, well, you know what, if you're going to offend somebody, zip it.

00:33:30.700 Yeah, you know what, I'm a member of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association.

00:33:34.000 I make a small monthly donation to them.

00:33:36.600 And I'm extremely disappointed in them.

00:33:38.540 In fact, I got a fundraising call from them.

00:33:39.980 I don't know if I told you, I got a fundraising call from them the other day.

00:33:43.520 And, you know, well, how do you think we're doing?

00:33:45.300 And, well, I gave them an earful.

00:33:46.820 And I said, where are you?

00:33:48.000 Where are you guys for civil liberty?

00:33:50.020 I mean, they had a real black rights vibe on the call.

00:33:52.860 I said, hey, I'm with you.

00:33:54.680 You did the story along the street in Toronto.

00:33:57.340 There's a street that has got, I think, 11 black barbershops in the course of three blocks.

00:34:01.780 It's on Eglins and West.

00:34:02.900 It's just amazing.

00:34:04.500 There's just barber, barber, barber.

00:34:06.640 I've never seen anything like it.

00:34:08.380 It's like a barberhood, barber neighborhood.

00:34:10.660 Barberhood, I like that.

00:34:11.240 Barberhood.

00:34:11.640 It's a barberhood.

00:34:12.400 I'm going down to the barberhood. 0.72

00:34:13.960 And they're all black men, cutting hair. 1.00

00:34:17.920 And it's like a social club, isn't it?

00:34:19.420 Yeah.

00:34:19.640 And I said to the Civil Liberties Association, okay, for black rights and everything, why don't

00:34:23.840 you stand up for these black men who are being forced out of business for no genuine health

00:34:29.540 reason?

00:34:30.440 And they obviously didn't listen to me, even though I said I would donate more to them if

00:34:34.160 they took the case.

00:34:35.520 Wow.

00:34:35.820 My point is the Civil Liberties Association, AWOL.

00:34:38.300 Canadian Journalists for Free Expression, AWOL, absent without leave.

00:34:41.780 Canadian Association of Journalists.

00:34:43.520 There's so many of these groups that have journalists or freedom or civil liberties in 0.71

00:34:47.220 the name, and they're all liars. 0.81

00:34:49.880 Maybe once a long time ago, but not anymore.

00:34:54.800 And it's strange that we are filling that gap, because I really, when we started The Rebel

00:34:59.600 five and a half years ago, I didn't think, oh, we're going to be a civil liberties

00:35:01.960 organization.

00:35:02.400 We're going to be a press association.

00:35:04.620 No, I just thought, well, let's just report the news.

00:35:06.380 But you can't even do that, and the people who are supposed to be on guard are not on

00:35:09.940 guard.

00:35:10.320 And that's not hype.

00:35:11.760 I mean, we are running Fight the Fines.

00:35:14.660 We have something like about 20 cases, I believe, Ezra.

00:35:17.560 You'd think this is what the Canadian Civil Liberties Association would be doing.

00:35:21.240 Exactly.

00:35:21.620 I was trying to get them to do that.

00:35:22.660 Yeah, and instead, we've seen, I have seen two things, two mandates through this whole

00:35:27.580 Wuhan virus thing.

00:35:29.000 We're keeping notes, and when we examine our notes, we're sending out another press release

00:35:33.800 saying we've got really bad notes about you government officials.

00:35:37.080 And they're on this jihad of releasing more violent criminals out of correctional institutions

00:35:44.100 to maintain the two-meter social distancing. 0.64

00:35:47.660 This is mad.

00:35:48.960 Yeah, it's crazy.

00:35:50.160 Well, listen, we'll show people the whole footage tomorrow.

00:35:53.980 I just want the story to be told properly.

00:35:56.020 Yes.

00:35:56.240 I want to let people know that we spent four times $600, because we hire these security

00:36:02.300 at $100 an hour, minimum six-hour purchase.

00:36:07.020 And as I said earlier, everyone says, oh, I'll do it for free.

00:36:09.500 I'll do it for free.

00:36:10.000 I don't want free security.

00:36:11.420 There's nothing more expensive than a cheap security guard.

00:36:13.640 Yeah.

00:36:14.180 Because when things go down, you want someone who uses their brains as much as their brawn. 0.93

00:36:19.440 Yeah.

00:36:19.680 And you want someone who knows how to avoid a problem rather than just deal with it.

00:36:24.040 And today we had seven times $600.

00:36:26.500 That's a total of 11 security times $600.

00:36:33.300 That's $6,600.

00:36:34.680 I think it was a little bit more than that in the end.

00:36:37.260 I think my math is right here.

00:36:39.420 And then we had a lawyer on top of that.

00:36:41.740 That's right.

00:36:41.820 And we had other costs. 0.99

00:36:42.940 I think we're looking at approximately $8,000 all in just to do a stupid story. 0.99

00:36:48.260 And I know the CBC, no one else would have to do it. 0.98

00:36:50.360 But we did it not because we care about this particular story, but we care about our right to talk about this particular story.

00:36:55.580 And I want to say to our folks, if you're watching this show, you're obviously a pay while subscribing.

00:36:59.560 You're obviously giving eight bucks a month.

00:37:01.120 And thank you very much for that.

00:37:02.580 But if you can help us out at journalistdefensefund.com, please do.

00:37:07.140 We're going to release tonight's show.

00:37:10.500 Well, actually, really, what we're going to release is tomorrow's video.

00:37:13.580 Yeah.

00:37:13.680 Tomorrow's video, which we're going to end the show, we're going to release it widely because I want everyone to see it.

00:37:18.240 And I've got to recoup that eight grand.

00:37:21.060 I mean, that's a lot of money.

00:37:23.160 No other media company in Canada has to hire any security.

00:37:27.520 But we do for this reason.

00:37:28.940 Last word to you, David.

00:37:29.900 Well, and folks, I know, as Ezra does, that this is probably the worst time, given how many layoffs, the economic damage in the economy.

00:37:37.180 But if you do have it within you to give, please do.

00:37:41.380 You can call this shameless shilling if you want.

00:37:44.640 But we're doing it honestly.

00:37:46.400 We're not like the mainstream media that takes it directly out of your paycheck as a form of a government grant.

00:37:53.420 And I think what we did today, Ezra, was so important.

00:37:57.260 In the aftermath meeting, our great lawyer Aaron was talking about, in terms of journalism, in terms of fighting for the freedom of speech in the public square, he thought it was masterful.

00:38:08.860 I think you were masterful in your engagement with the police officer in explaining why you needed at least five minutes in the public square.

00:38:17.160 Not behind the dumpster off Bay Street, not where the service entrance is, but in the public square, where all the thugs are occupying the public square.

00:38:26.660 And you eventually got them around to your way of thinking.

00:38:30.200 So, not 100% freedom, but we scored a victory for freedom light, let's call it.

00:38:36.540 And I think it's going to be one of our best videos ever.

00:38:39.960 Well, I look forward to it.

00:38:41.040 You gave a bit of a tantalizer of what's to come, so you'll want to watch tomorrow.

00:38:46.060 And we are going to put it outside the paywall, too.

00:38:48.600 It was a great video.

00:38:49.460 And between the seven security, our VP who was there, I think we had five guys on camera, you and me, five guys behind the camera, you and me on camera.

00:38:57.960 I think we had 15 people there.

00:39:00.480 And we needed them, Ezra. 0.96

00:39:01.600 And by the way, folks, these are the worst kind of thugs.

00:39:04.560 And I say that because maybe not in terms of ultraviolence. 0.89

00:39:07.480 They were kicking, they were punching, they were pushing, they were jamming their umbrows at us.

00:39:11.040 You'll see it all on the video.

00:39:12.740 But they're getting in our grill.

00:39:14.840 Well, they're causing the trouble.

00:39:16.740 They're embracing that great Bruce Springsteen line about the guy going down to the bar wearing trouble on his shirt.

00:39:22.820 And yet, if you slightly brush past them to get out of their way, they make a big production of falling down, crying, saying they were assaulted. 0.99

00:39:31.520 They suck and blow at the same time. 1.00

00:39:34.080 They are disgraceful. 0.99

00:39:35.300 And to think we are tolerating it, law enforcement is turning a blind eye, and Mayor John Tory is talking to the port-a-potty company, make sure they're taken care of.

00:39:45.100 We don't want them uncomfortable as they're illegally occupying the public square.

00:39:48.740 This is a dark day for Toronto, Ezra.

00:39:51.200 Well, we'll do our best to light a candle.

00:39:54.000 You know, I say that we do reporting, news, we do commentary, opinion, and we do activism.

00:40:01.340 Today, we did all three.

00:40:02.740 I agree.

00:40:03.460 All right.

00:40:04.080 Well, David, great to see you.

00:40:05.100 Congratulations.

00:40:05.580 You've had a great run, as I said, at the staff meeting the other day.

00:40:08.500 You've been a real star these last few months.

00:40:10.520 Thank you for doing that.

00:40:11.580 And some physical risk.

00:40:12.880 I mean, you got hit in Kingston, and they tried to really get you again today.

00:40:16.920 They didn't get you today, though, did they?

00:40:18.680 Some kicks.

00:40:19.800 And by the way, there's an unspoken strategy there, Ezra, as I was saying to the other guys.

00:40:27.220 That's typically below the camera line, so they can get away with, you know, below the belt blows.

00:40:32.760 Right, right.

00:40:33.300 And it's not picked up by the camera.

00:40:34.800 And, you know, for some reason, I'm always walking away with a lift, but you know what?

00:40:40.780 It's a five-coupon ride, and what we're fighting for is so important, and who else is doing it?

00:40:48.080 Nobody.

00:40:48.180 Yeah, no one else is.

00:40:49.400 You know what?

00:40:51.120 We had seven security today.

00:40:53.180 That's a lot.

00:40:54.660 We'll bring as many as it takes.

00:40:56.620 We need them.

00:40:57.340 You know what?

00:40:57.820 I mean, if we have a squad of 20 security, we'll do what it takes, because I am not going

00:41:02.540 to stop doing journalism because of some thugs or because the police don't want to take

00:41:07.400 on the thugs.

00:41:07.980 I promise you that.

00:41:08.500 A hundred percent.

00:41:09.040 All right, David.

00:41:09.520 Great to see you.

00:41:10.100 Thank you.

00:41:10.760 Let's get to the final comments ahead.

00:41:12.560 So I was out there today at Toronto City Hall, Nathan Phillips Square.

00:41:23.300 It's a big plaza in front of the City Hall.

00:41:26.560 It's outrageous that this has been turned into an anarchy camp, a slum by Antifa.

00:41:31.400 At least the Seattle CHAZ, Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, is not really right outside the mayor's

00:41:38.740 office, so obviously this slum is being done with the full approval of Toronto's left-wing

00:41:43.600 mayor, John Tory. 0.84

00:41:44.740 He's the worst.

00:41:46.680 But you know what? 0.83

00:41:47.140 I just don't accept that.

00:41:48.300 I just don't accept that, I mean, I'm a citizen of Toronto.

00:41:51.880 I pay taxes here, but I'm just a free man, and I will not move because some thug says move,

00:41:59.700 and I will certainly not move because some mall cop hired from the mayor says move.

00:42:04.920 I don't mean to leave you in suspense, it's just that it takes some time to edit all the

00:42:09.600 film, especially we had about five cameras filling in from very many angles today.

00:42:13.880 We'll have a full report for you tomorrow, and I hope you'll be as proud of us as I am

00:42:19.680 of our team.

00:42:20.360 As I said to the team when we came back to the office and had a quick debrief, every one

00:42:24.680 of them showed more courage than any other media company in Canada, and that is what we

00:42:32.780 do.

00:42:33.580 Every night I end by saying, keep fighting for freedom.

00:42:36.540 My friends, I want to let you know today, every rebel fought for freedom, and even at

00:42:43.160 personal, physical risk.

00:42:45.480 All right, everybody, good night.

00:42:46.840 Until tomorrow, from all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters, including those 15 or so

00:42:52.340 of us who fought for freedom, you do too.

00:42:55.300 Good night.

00:43:03.580 Good night.

00:43:10.900 Good night.

00:43:12.020 Good night.

00:43:12.880 Good night.
