00:01:15.540 You're listening to a release podcast.

00:01:18.000 Welcome to Rebel Roundup, ladies and gentlemen, and the rest of you,

00:01:29.440 in which we look back at some of the very best commentaries of the week by your favorite rebels.

00:01:34.480 I'm your host, David Menzies.

00:01:36.740 Well, Sheila Gunn-Reed and Kian Bexte, they're both at the UN Climate Conference in Madrid.

00:01:43.000 And if you thought previous climate conferences were cookie and full of hypocrisy,

00:01:50.020 just will you hear about what's going on at this one?

00:01:54.720 Sheila and Kian will have all the incredible details.

00:01:59.220 And what's to blame for lower support for the LGBTQ community by millennials?

00:02:05.940 Would you believe the culprit is video games?

00:02:09.000 Oh boy, Ezra Lovett will try to make sense of it all.

00:02:12.940 And finally, letters. We get your letters.

00:02:14.720 We get your letters every minute of every day.

00:02:17.020 And I'll share some of your responses regarding my report on skyrocketing thievery

00:02:22.220 at Liquor Control Board of Ontario Stores.

00:02:25.940 And why is the theft on the increase?

00:02:28.240 Well, according to the LCBO, it's all due to increased media coverage about the thievery.

00:02:35.180 No, I swear, they said that.

00:02:37.040 I'm not drunk.

00:02:37.760 Those are your Rebels. Now, let's round them up.

00:02:45.780 Sheila Gunn-Reed for Rebel News here in Madrid, Spain,

00:02:48.900 with my colleague Kian Bexte on the other side of my cell phone camera.

00:02:53.060 I'm going to do something that I'm not a fan of,

00:02:56.560 and it's going to make me really uncomfortable.

00:02:58.380 I'm not a fan of modern art, and I'm not a fan of staring strangers in the eye.

00:03:02.940 But I also like to make strangers feel uncomfortable, so there could be an upside to this for me.

00:03:08.900 Right behind me is an art installation.

00:03:11.580 It's called The Citizen is Still Present, where you sit down and stare a perfect stranger in the eyes for two minutes,

00:03:19.300 and somehow that's supposed to stop climate change.

00:03:22.980 I don't know.

00:03:23.800 However, what I do know is that this art installation is based on a concept by Marina Abramovich,

00:03:31.480 based on a project she did in 2010.

00:03:34.360 And as you'll recall, she was the lady behind the weird spirit cooking stuff that the Democrats were involved in. 0.63

00:03:43.140 So this is going to get weird, but I'm going to do it because I'm here to fight climate change.

00:04:13.140 Well, folks, if you've been tuning in to our website recently,

00:04:22.340 you know that one of those climate catastrophe conferences that the UN puts on every so often is taking place.

00:04:31.060 This one is coming from Madrid, and we have Sheila Gunn-Reed and Kian Bexsey there.

00:04:36.680 And, wow, I've got to tell you, folks, from the coverage I've seen, it goes from the beguiling to the bizarre.

00:04:45.000 And I'd like to welcome both Sheila and Kian to Rebel Roundup.

00:04:48.740 How's it going in Madrid, guys?

00:04:50.540 Is the climate emergency or climate crisis or whatever they're calling it, is it making you sweat buckets right now?

00:04:58.780 Ha, I wish.

00:05:00.240 You know what, David?

00:05:01.580 I came here with some shorts and some T-shirts thinking we were going to Spain,

00:05:04.700 but you can never trust this climate that we live in.

00:05:08.140 Changes by the minute, and I wish I brought more sweaters because it is freezing cold here.

00:05:13.440 It's raining, it's windy, and it's cold.

00:05:15.620 It's just not pleasant.

00:05:16.980 We have to do most of our interviews inside, unfortunately.

00:05:19.520 We just came back from one with Naomi... 0.92

00:05:22.700 Zeit? 0.75

00:05:23.440 Zeit.

00:05:24.220 She is the anti-Greta. 0.88

00:05:25.640 She doesn't like that term, anti-Greta, but she is basically the opposite of Greta.

00:05:30.620 She is a Generation Z who is railing against this climate alarmist narrative.

00:05:37.840 She doesn't call herself a climate denier.

00:05:39.700 She hates that term.

00:05:40.880 She calls herself a climate realist, someone who is looking at the science and coming to different conclusions.

00:05:47.380 Then Greta is. 0.98

00:05:52.020 Obviously, Greta seems to be looking at this issue with blinders, 1.00

00:05:56.140 and Naomi is advocating getting out of that climate bubble that the UN is fostering

00:06:02.520 and looking at things from a different perspective.

00:06:05.100 Wow.

00:06:05.400 And maybe we can do some very quick hints, guys, about some of the things you've uncovered.

00:06:09.420 Because, Kian, when you say the anti-Greta, some in the environmental movement would consider

00:06:14.980 that a slur along the lines of the anti-Christ.

00:06:18.980 And, Sheila, you did a little, speaking of religion, you did a little segment where you

00:06:24.020 saw something that looked like a makeshift shrine.

00:06:26.480 I think the Virgin Mary was wearing a gas mask. 1.00

00:06:30.400 I don't think you covered anything with the Prophet Muhammad doing something in terms of

00:06:39.300 the environmental movement.

00:06:40.360 I guess that's still off-limits with these guys.

00:06:42.420 But I found that bizarre because a lot of people who are critical of this whole climate

00:06:50.060 catastrophe movement liken it to a form of a religion or at least a cult.

00:06:56.640 What did you make of that display?

00:06:58.240 Well, that was exactly it.

00:07:01.140 I don't even know what the display was all about.

00:07:03.180 It was part of some sort of art installation.

00:07:06.280 And it did.

00:07:06.780 It was rife with religious symbolism.

00:07:09.480 And these people tell me it's not a religion.

00:07:12.600 It's based in science.

00:07:14.380 But it's filled with religious imagery.

00:07:18.560 And it's really a belief system.

00:07:21.260 They had images of the Virgin Mary with the gas mask.

00:07:24.880 As you point out, there were tarot cards, other Hindu symbolism, some beads.

00:07:32.140 They had offerings on it.

00:07:34.140 I mean, it really was.

00:07:35.240 Smudging like the burning incense.

00:07:37.520 Yeah, they were burning incense.

00:07:38.720 It was on an altar.

00:07:39.760 So, you know, people tell me I'm being a conspiracy theorist when I say that these people are just another doomsday cult.

00:07:47.920 And as it gets closer to the doomsday prediction, more and more people are getting off the ride before they have to put on their white pajamas and wait for a comet to take them all away.

00:07:56.060 But really, a lot of what we're seeing here are people who, they really are true believers.

00:08:04.220 Kian did a really great video.

00:08:06.040 Just a phenomenal video where he showed people the climate crimes of Greta Thunberg. 0.72

00:08:14.340 And they would not believe it, even though Kian had video evidence. 0.78

00:08:19.760 And Kian is the guy, first-hand video evidence.

00:08:23.820 He took the video and they would not believe that that messy, disgusting, plastic-filled car was Greta's.

00:08:31.320 And it's because it is truly a belief system and not really something based in evidence or science.

00:08:38.140 Yeah, yeah, Kian, that was an amazing video.

00:08:40.320 You showed with your photography plastic water bottles, plastic bags, all the stuff all those peons are supposed to avoid.

00:08:48.480 You've also shown that the amount of recyclables put in the regular trash bins that are overflowing, I should note, also points to the hypocrisy.

00:08:58.860 And for the trifecta, Kian, you went to the electric plug-in parking lot.

00:09:05.820 And, oh my goodness, acres of space is there.

00:09:09.360 It looks like all these climate crusaders prefer V8-driven luxury limousines and SUVs.

00:09:19.180 Are they not wary of the hypocrisy that they're conveying?

00:09:25.820 Or are they just confident that those in the media party that observe this too simply aren't going to report this?

00:09:32.780 The hypocrisy, David, is rife here.

00:09:37.720 It's rife with hypocrisy from the empty charging stations to the lineup of taxi cabs that are all idling to the diesel generators that they go out of their way to hide because they are not on brand. 0.84

00:09:53.360 Hypocrisy is the takeaway from this.

00:09:55.000 This is my first climate conference.

00:09:57.280 And it's just everywhere, David.

00:09:58.640 These people don't really want to practice what they preach.

00:10:00.700 You know, one interesting thing that we saw here was we, Sheila and I, are not allowed in the main policy hall.

00:10:08.900 That's where the bureaucrats, the politicians, the celebrities go.

00:10:11.380 Harrison Ford, Greta Thunberg, the UN delegates, they're all in this main hall.

00:10:16.520 And in this main hall, there is a Burger King that is selling thick Angus patties.

00:10:22.980 And right beside that Burger King, talking about how we need to stop eating meat.

00:10:26.780 We need to ban meat in some cases because of the water consumption that it takes to make these patties.

00:10:31.860 Well, guess what?

00:10:32.920 When you go to the Green Hall, which is where Sheila and I are relegated to, they have soy burgers made from bean protein and chemicals.

00:10:41.440 And regret.

00:10:42.380 They're made of regret.

00:10:43.400 They're made of regret.

00:10:44.500 They smell like cleaning agents is what I tried one.

00:10:47.660 It was the biggest regret of this conference.

00:10:50.540 But the takeaway message is all of these plebs that are in this Green Hall who are there to see what the UN is all about. 1.00

00:10:57.920 They're locals mainly and some real enthusiasts who came out with their dad.

00:11:02.060 A lot of high school students came with their dads to check out this conference.

00:11:05.840 And they're in the Green Hall.

00:11:06.700 And in the Green Hall, they get these soy patties and these vegan non-meat burgers because that's what the UN says we need.

00:11:15.440 But when you actually go into where these elites are, it's relaying us meat that they're selling.

00:11:21.500 You know, guys, that reminds me of that old saying, socialism isn't for the socialists.

00:11:27.560 And it looks like environmentalism isn't for the environmentalists.

00:11:32.240 I mean, it's just staggering.

00:11:33.680 Another thing that I found it was kind of off-putting in a way, you visited these pollution pods that to me came across as futuristic gas chambers.

00:11:46.060 And this is to, if anyone, for those amongst our audience that hasn't seen this, this is to replicate certain environmental conditions around the world,

00:11:56.640 excluding North America, which tends to have cleaner air, yet we're the ones under the gun to impose things like carbon taxes and whatnot.

00:12:06.700 What did you guys make of that pollution pod tour?

00:12:10.160 It looked kind of disgusting in a way.

00:12:13.040 It was disgusting, actually, after we left.

00:12:17.760 Like, the scent lingers on you.

00:12:19.960 It was in my hair.

00:12:21.000 It was on Kean's clothes. 0.69

00:12:22.040 Like, it really stunk.

00:12:24.440 Some of it felt really exaggerated.

00:12:27.080 For example, the London pod.

00:12:28.700 I've been to London.

00:12:29.640 David, I'm sure you've been.

00:12:30.680 Kean has been to London.

00:12:32.660 Sure, I'm sure the smog can get really bad sometimes.

00:12:36.600 But this was really thick.

00:12:38.340 Like, you could hardly see across the pod for what they think we think London should look like.

00:12:45.440 And another great irony of these pods was that it was an art installation by the World Health Organization.

00:12:52.660 And it was the one and only criticism of China that we'd seen here at all.

00:12:58.340 One of the major cities depicted in these pods was Beijing. 0.93

00:13:02.100 And it was stinky.

00:13:03.540 It smelled sort of sulfurous. 0.59

00:13:06.600 Vinegary, almost.

00:13:09.440 And it was just thick.

00:13:10.800 And I suppose it's to replicate the burning of dirty coal, not beautiful, clean Alberta coal, in China for electricity.

00:13:19.520 And nowhere in the rest of the conference in which we're allowed have we seen any criticism of China.

00:13:28.120 Nobody's talking about it.

00:13:29.260 Everybody's attacking Canada.

00:13:31.400 Everybody is attacking America, specifically Donald Trump.

00:13:37.660 But we have, I would say, two of the cleanest countries on the face of the earth.

00:13:42.680 And what, Sheila, it wasn't just Canada and the United States that they're attacking.

00:13:47.700 It's Alberta specifically.

00:13:49.180 Yes, yes.

00:13:49.680 Which I was stunned.

00:13:50.600 I didn't think that the name Alberta really was recognized around the world.

00:13:53.720 But I've stumbled upon two special, like, press conferences, because there's little cubby press conferences throughout this green hall that we're in.

00:14:01.140 And both of them were referencing the tar sands and Alberta.

00:14:05.140 The tar sands.

00:14:06.020 Yeah.

00:14:06.240 It's just completely coincidentally that I came across.

00:14:09.560 You look at the entire world of emissions.

00:14:13.840 Alberta accounts for less than half a percent.

00:14:16.620 Don't quote me on that number.

00:14:17.920 But when it comes to Beijing being the leading emitter in the world and the second place emitter isn't even half of what Beijing, what China is emitting.

00:14:27.160 Well, I think priorities really aren't in line.

00:14:29.480 Well, and, you know, we really don't even have to go that far from home to see the hypocrisy.

00:14:35.080 Fort McMurray on any given day has a lot cleaner air than downtown Vancouver, where a lot of the criticism of Fort McMurray is coming from.

00:14:43.160 We saw two Canadians participate in a protest against a Canadian oil sands mine.

00:14:52.160 Inconsequential Green Party leader Elizabeth May and Sappora Berman, who was on the payroll of the Alberta government, participated in a major protest allegedly led by Indigenous leaders against tech, tech, their frontier oil sands mine.

00:15:10.680 It's a $21 billion project, and this protest was allegedly led by First Nations leaders because there are a lot of people here who are willing to use their Indigenous identity to claim that they speak for all Indigenous peoples, in particular those in and around Fort McMurray.

00:15:28.580 This protest against tech's frontier mine completely disregards the fact that tech has signed agreements with the 14 Indigenous communities affected by it.

00:15:38.980 It gives them right of first refusal for contracts for construction.

00:15:44.200 It will employ 7,500 people in the construction phase and 2,500 people after the fact.

00:15:50.960 And the agreement signed with the Indigenous communities affected protects the Indigenous traditional land use rights.

00:15:59.000 And yet, there are people who are willing to fly to the other side of the world to protest Indigenous jobs back at home in the name of protecting Indigenous rights.

00:16:10.340 It's disgusting.

00:16:11.060 Sheila, it's absolutely incredible. 0.73

00:16:13.900 And I bet you there's no Saudi nationals there speaking out against the Saudi Arabian oil industry.

00:16:19.780 Guys, we have to wrap it here.

00:16:21.320 Great reporting.

00:16:22.180 I think the Poobas did you a favour by banning you from the conferences to listen to endless boring virtue signalling from climate Cassandra bureaucrats around the world because you're uncovering the real story that's happening in Madrid.

00:16:37.400 Thank you so much for joining me, guys.

00:16:39.140 And I know you've got some more reports to file.

00:16:41.900 And keep it here, folks.

00:16:43.340 More O'Brabble Roundup to come right after this.

00:16:45.580 Look at the number of millennials who describe themselves as LGBT allies.

00:16:57.320 That's the phrase that's in popular use.

00:16:59.980 So just to explain these charts, you can see there's three bars together.

00:17:03.780 The top very dark line is 2016.

00:17:07.320 The middle line is 2017.

00:17:09.560 And the bottom line, in each case, in light blue, is 2018.

00:17:14.120 So look at that.

00:17:15.040 The number of 18 to 34-year-olds, those are millennials, who are allies.

00:17:20.760 So start at the top.

00:17:22.020 In 2016, 63% of millennials said, I'm an LGBT ally.

00:17:28.220 Now it's 45%.

00:17:30.220 That's a plunge.

00:17:32.180 It was almost two-thirds.

00:17:33.400 Now it's not even half.

00:17:34.560 It's fallen for young millennial women from 65% to 52%. 0.86

00:17:39.720 And for young men, it's almost fallen in half.

00:17:43.860 From 62% of young men in 2016 to 40% the next year to just 35% now.

00:17:51.180 That is almost falling in half.

00:17:52.820 What's going on?

00:17:53.760 I mean, I'm curious.

00:17:54.660 I'm surprised.

00:17:56.340 See, support for LGBT hasn't plunged like this for all groups.

00:18:01.420 It's just young people.

00:18:04.400 Middle-aged people, senior citizens, they haven't suddenly fallen out with LGBT politics.

00:18:13.440 Senior citizens, who you might think would be less pro-LGBT because they were born and raised in a more traditional era.

00:18:21.720 Their support hasn't fallen in half.

00:18:23.360 What's going on?

00:18:24.040 Why do millennials support LGBT rights less than their own grandparents?

00:18:31.700 Well, here's what the president of GLAAD says.

00:18:35.160 With the knowledge that erosion in acceptance was primarily happening among younger males,

00:18:40.280 GLAAD launched a program dedicated to working with the video game industry on LGBTQ inclusion

00:18:46.260 to bring LGBTQ characters and stories to a world where male audiences were consuming content.

00:18:53.260 Really?

00:18:54.560 So you think it's video games?

00:18:57.200 You're seriously blaming video games?

00:18:59.600 Wow, who'd have thunk it?

00:19:01.500 Allegedly, one of the reasons why millennials are less accepting of those in the LGBTQ community is due to video games?

00:19:10.860 Gracious, does this now mean that in addition to Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man and Junior Pac-Man,

00:19:17.140 we will soon be witnessing the rollout of trans Pac-Man, or I mean Pac-Person?

00:19:22.840 Well, joining me now to try and make sense of it all is our very own Rebel Commander Ezra Levent.

00:19:28.440 So, Ezra, welcome to Rebel Roundup, but what gives?

00:19:31.640 Yeah, I don't believe it for a second.

00:19:33.200 It was a major survey conducted by a reputable pollster called Harris,

00:19:37.460 and they were hired by a group called GLAAD, which is a gay and lesbian advocacy group,

00:19:44.300 and the title of the survey was Advancing Acceptance.

00:19:48.340 So this is about getting gay rights normalized and pushed in America, 0.97

00:19:53.720 and they do an annual survey to see how the trend is going.

00:19:58.180 And the reason I tell you all this is to let you know that this is a pro-gay group that commissioned the survey. 0.55

00:20:02.680 So they found that support for the number of millennials who call themselves LGBT allies

00:20:12.500 has fallen from 60-something percent to, in the case of millennial men, to like 30-something percent.

00:20:20.240 It's fallen almost in half.

00:20:22.280 A huge drop.

00:20:23.420 In just two years.

00:20:25.000 Yeah.

00:20:26.020 And the reason I told you it was commissioned by GLAAD is so that you know that this is a pro-gay group that's detecting this. 0.86

00:20:36.560 This isn't like an anti-gay or a conservative group that may have an interest in showing the numbers go down. 0.97

00:20:44.160 So GLAAD tried to explain this, and they came up with two of the dumbest explanations I can think of. 0.79

00:20:50.840 One is video games, because apparently there were no video games before 2017.

00:20:55.820 It doesn't even make sense.

00:20:57.420 My understanding, I honestly don't play a lot of video games.

00:21:03.540 So maybe there are really anti-gay video games out there.

00:21:06.780 That just doesn't seem to, I've just never heard of them.

00:21:09.140 Maybe the video game world is anti-gay.

00:21:13.340 I just don't think so.

00:21:15.800 And certainly not in the last, like, two years.

00:21:18.660 And is that really going to change an entire generation's view on gay rights?

00:21:24.000 Because, I mean, I don't know.

00:21:25.660 It could be.

00:21:27.020 They also blame Donald Trump.

00:21:28.640 I don't believe it. 0.86

00:21:30.120 Donald Trump really doesn't talk a lot about gay this or gay that.

00:21:34.160 It's not a big deal for him.

00:21:35.500 He's all about jobs and trade and China and NATO and Israel and stuff like that.

00:21:41.640 So I found those two explanations completely unpersuasive.

00:21:45.720 I think they were just guesses, and I think they were loaded, because I have a counter theory.

00:21:51.660 Okay.

00:21:52.440 And it's not the L or the G or the B.

00:21:55.780 It's the T.

00:21:56.940 Yeah.

00:21:57.800 And, because that's what's new.

00:22:00.260 Because gay rights, that's been around for a generation now.

00:22:03.160 Um, and really, a lot of those battles have been won by the glad gay rights side of things.

00:22:11.880 Uh, in, there's gay marriage, there's gay adoption, there's gay anti-discrimination.

00:22:17.480 I mean, and most importantly in the popular culture, you know, gay bashing or gay criticism

00:22:23.640 isn't, um, conventional anymore.

00:22:26.420 It's, it's, it's marginalized.

00:22:29.220 So, what would make gay allies precipitate from 65 to 30 something in just two years?

00:22:38.740 Because gay rights, it's not like gay rights was just invented two years ago.

00:22:42.340 Gay rights has been around for a generation.

00:22:45.220 Trans is what's new.

00:22:46.920 Yeah.

00:22:47.460 Trans is the last couple of years. 0.61

00:22:48.800 And trans isn't just about, hey, leave that guy alone.

00:22:52.800 Hey, don't pick on that guy.

00:22:54.440 Hey, stop bullying that guy.

00:22:56.520 Because I think that would be, I think a lot of people of any age group would say, leave him alone.

00:23:01.760 Leave him alone.

00:23:03.560 But trans is not about leave him alone.

00:23:06.420 Trans is, I'm coming to you. 1.00

00:23:08.980 I'm coming to your changing room.

00:23:11.020 I'm coming to your dressing room.

00:23:12.940 I'm coming to your girls' soccer team.

00:23:16.720 I'm coming to your girls' track meet.

00:23:19.420 I'm coming to your girls' wrestling. 1.00

00:23:21.680 And it's not about you leaving me alone.

00:23:23.740 It's me not leaving you alone.

00:23:25.740 And if you dare speak up about the fact you've got this six foot something 200 pound guy

00:23:29.920 who hasn't even got his twig and berries cut off, but he says, I'm, I'm a girl.

00:23:34.780 And, and you, you literally go so far as to say that you're a girl if you merely say you're a girl.

00:23:41.020 You don't even have to present as a girl.

00:23:44.020 You just have to identify as a girl.

00:23:47.320 And that's just expresso, presto, chango.

00:23:51.780 I'm a girl.

00:23:53.100 And, you know, Ezra, I'll go one step further than what you just said.

00:23:57.520 I don't think it's just a matter of the allies.

00:24:00.740 I think it is members of the L and the B and the G community saying, I don't want anything to do with the trans community 1.00

00:24:10.860 because I've spoken to gay men.

00:24:12.240 I've spoken to some of the lesbians that I know. 1.00

00:24:14.840 They resent the fact that they're lumped in with this group.

00:24:17.620 As a matter of fact, I think it was earlier this year or last year, Martina Navratilova, the former tennis great who is lesbian,

00:24:25.600 spoke out about men passing themselves off as females to get an advantage in sports.

00:24:33.460 And within 24 hours, she had to dial back those comments.

00:24:37.260 What do you make of that?

00:24:38.320 Well, that's exactly right.

00:24:39.240 But feminists are on the retreat because of men, men who say they're women, men who push aside women, 1.00

00:24:52.060 men who say, you say I'm a woman, say I'm a woman.

00:24:56.580 That's really what the trans agenda is.

00:24:58.340 It's not leave me alone.

00:25:00.080 I'm saying I'm a woman.

00:25:02.120 It's you say I'm a woman.

00:25:04.320 You affirm me even though I'm so obviously not.

00:25:08.180 I will push myself into women's places, a change room, a swimming pool, even rape shelters. 1.00

00:25:17.160 There's a famous rape shelter in Vancouver called Vancouver Rape Relief.

00:25:21.440 It's where women flee if they've had this horrific crime committed against them. 1.00

00:25:26.880 And there are literally trans men who demand and insist to be given access to that safe place.

00:25:34.560 That's a real safe place.

00:25:35.500 But these trans men insist on getting in there because that's the final ultimate proof that they're accepted as a woman. 0.79

00:25:40.800 If they can go into this most discriminating place only for women, it must be only for women. 0.99

00:25:46.700 So if I can get in there, I must truly be a woman after all, since you'd have to be crazy to let a man in there. 0.76

00:25:53.020 And so you're letting me in.

00:25:54.360 So obviously that proves I'm a woman. 0.97

00:25:56.760 So feminists are being ground into powder by trans men. 1.00

00:26:02.260 And in fact, trans men have an epithet against such women. 0.80

00:26:06.660 They're called TERFs, trans-exclusionary radical feminists. 1.00

00:26:09.720 Yeah, no, no.

00:26:10.400 They're just women who want to go to the bathroom and not have guys in there. 1.00

00:26:14.860 And so you're right.

00:26:16.020 It's against any feminist. 1.00

00:26:17.660 It's against lesbians. 1.00

00:26:18.960 And it's against gays. 0.68

00:26:20.020 Anyways, Joel Pollack made an interesting point on the show. 0.84

00:26:22.780 He said, you know, if you're a young teen or whatever and you're confused about your sexuality, maybe you're just gay. 0.94

00:26:32.400 These trans activists will say, no, cut it off. 0.95

00:26:35.540 You're not gay. 0.99

00:26:36.260 You're a woman. 0.99

00:26:36.880 Cut it off. 0.99

00:26:38.540 And not all gays think that's the way. 0.98

00:26:41.500 And these are all subjects outside of my expertise.

00:26:45.240 But I'm sure of one thing.

00:26:49.640 The politics is utterly different.

00:26:52.900 The politics of gender, of sex and race.

00:26:58.320 Sex and race are immutable. 1.00

00:27:00.820 You have the chromosomes where you don't.

00:27:02.780 You have the genetics where you don't.

00:27:04.880 Homosexuality itself, there has been a debate how much of it is an orientation,

00:27:08.460 how much of it is choice, how much of it is hardwired.

00:27:11.400 So that's a debate.

00:27:12.960 And I think society has generally said, treat them as the same non-discriminating category

00:27:19.720 as someone who's born with this race or born with that sex.

00:27:22.940 And I think that's the political consensus.

00:27:26.320 But trans? 0.86

00:27:27.740 Trans is an activity.

00:27:30.180 I am changing from this to that.

00:27:32.280 And I'm changing my mindset.

00:27:34.000 I'm changing how I talk about things.

00:27:35.800 And now I'm going to change your mindset and how you talk about things and where I get to go.

00:27:39.800 That is not analogous to race and sex or even sexual orientation, which to the law generally,

00:27:48.780 I think the legal consensus is that it is an innate orientation.

00:27:53.660 I'm not here to debate that.

00:27:54.900 I'm here to say whatever it is, it's different from trans, which is an activity. 1.00

00:27:59.700 And Ezra, do you think maybe this is at the root of millennials and perhaps others saying that,

00:28:08.040 you know what, we're being less accepting of it because we are seeing individuals gaming the system.

00:28:14.540 Sports federations around the world say, hey, if he identifies as she, we have to accept it.

00:28:20.840 And as a result, trans athletes are cleaning up in the competitions. 1.00

00:28:26.300 I mean, it's a reason why traditionally sports has been divided in male and female with the exception of equestrian and auto racing.

00:28:33.880 And yet here we have, as you said, a guy with his full wedding tackle,

00:28:37.680 all the advantages that are inherent to a man such as muscle mass, oxygen capacity, stamina,

00:28:45.660 competing against naturally born females and winning.

00:28:48.680 And maybe people are finally saying, look, I'm not accepting this.

00:28:52.820 I'm tuning out because it's a matter of fairness.

00:28:54.880 Yeah, in politics, there's a phrase, soccer moms. 1.00

00:28:58.040 And I guess in Canada, you could say hockey moms.

00:29:01.640 That's a demographic that is considered, you know, winnable by either side.

00:29:07.640 There's certain policies that appeal to a soccer mom, a hockey mom. 0.99

00:29:11.520 They're worried about their kids, so they're worried about drugs.

00:29:14.020 They're worried about crime.

00:29:15.780 They're worried about good schools and hospitals.

00:29:17.960 So that's a bunch of soccer moms, hockey moms are sort of normal. 1.00

00:29:21.620 Women tend to be a little more liberal than men, but these are women with very conservative concerns.

00:29:28.540 I want to protect my kids.

00:29:29.740 I want a good education.

00:29:31.020 So they're a very interesting political group that can be up for grabs.

00:29:35.160 And I don't know the numbers off the top of my head, but it wouldn't surprise me if hockey moms voted for Trudeau at least as much as they voted for Andrew Scheer.

00:29:46.400 Just a guess.

00:29:46.980 I have no data in front of me for that.

00:29:48.380 But you want to radicalize hockey moms or soccer moms? 1.00

00:29:54.500 Let's talk about soccer.

00:29:55.580 Here, so you've got the boys' leagues, you've got the girls' leagues.

00:29:59.860 You've got boys and girls separate, but it's still a physical sport.

00:30:04.900 There's still some contact, some jostling.

00:30:06.720 Yeah.

00:30:06.820 So let's say you've got a big field, a bunch of soccer fields, a little tournament.

00:30:15.160 You've got maybe 50 moms and a few hundred girls, and it's a Sunday afternoon, and they're all playing, and everyone's having a great time.

00:30:24.280 They're getting exercise.

00:30:25.820 The girls can do it. 1.00

00:30:26.880 Competitive.

00:30:27.860 Keeps them out of bad behavior.

00:30:29.840 You know, gives them something to focus on.

00:30:31.240 Team building.

00:30:32.460 No boys to distract.

00:30:34.000 It's a great thing.

00:30:35.020 It's a building block, a community.

00:30:37.420 And all of a sudden, in come the guys.

00:30:40.680 And you say, no, no, the guys are, are we in our guys?

00:30:44.460 We're girls.

00:30:45.920 And if you quarrel, you're a bigot.

00:30:49.620 I'll hit you with a human rights complaint, as Jonathan Yaniv did in BC.

00:30:53.940 And, oh, I want to go to the changing room.

00:30:56.480 Oh, and we had best sport or most goals, and guess what?

00:31:01.460 All three of the winners are trans.

00:31:05.740 First place, second place.

00:31:07.120 So all of a sudden, you've turned this beautiful community building, sisterhood, moms and daughters, exercise, good clean fun, don't get messed up with drugs, don't always focus on boys.

00:31:21.400 This is a girl's place, and you've just destroyed it. 1.00

00:31:25.180 Well, what have you done to every mom there and their daughter?

00:31:31.100 You have unnecessarily, provocatively, gratuitously turned them into a reactionary against your insane politics.

00:31:46.020 That is my theory for why GLAAD, a pro-gay group, and the number of people who call themselves an LGBT ally has fallen in half. 0.88

00:32:00.160 I don't know if it was just lesbian or gay.

00:32:02.200 I would be surprised if those numbers moved. 0.98

00:32:04.220 But let me say this, this trans insanity, it can only go so far before something big breaks. 1.00

00:32:14.920 And Jonathan Yaniv is starting to break and crack things open.

00:32:19.160 And I think there's going to be a moment when the whole, when 80, 90% of people stand up and say,

00:32:25.940 you are doing something to the rest of us, and we mean you no harm, and you go in peace, and if you want to do that, you do that.

00:32:36.420 But you are trying to change everything, and our answer to that is simply, hell no.

00:32:43.520 Well, Ezra, we have to wrap it here.

00:32:44.960 I hope you're right, and I hope part of the backlash comes from those brave enough in the gay and lesbian community to say,

00:32:51.680 hey, this is not my bag, and by basically speaking the truth, that doesn't make us transphobic, it makes us a realist.

00:33:00.500 So, great commentary, my friend.

00:33:02.560 And please, folks, check out the entire Ezra commentary on this very important subject online.

00:33:09.880 Keep it here. More of Rebel Roundup to come.

00:33:11.720 We'll be right back.

00:33:41.720 Nobody will come out and talk to us. Why is that?

00:33:44.200 I'll walk you out.

00:33:45.180 Okay.

00:33:46.160 Are you here to buy liquor, sir? I hope.

00:33:50.220 Okay.

00:33:52.580 What do you make of this, sir?

00:33:54.220 They are kicking us out of the store for reporting the news, but they allow thieves with alcohol just to waltz out.

00:34:01.160 What do you think of that, sir? 0.99

00:34:02.600 It's ridiculous. I see it every day. 0.99

00:34:05.160 All over Toronto. Toronto is going...

00:34:06.720 Well, lots of reaction to our update regarding skyrocketing theft at Liquor Control Board of Ontario Stores.

00:34:14.880 And is it any wonder, folks, the policy at LCBO Stores is to simply turn a blind eye and not get involved when customers decide to brazenly utilize the good old five-finger discount.

00:34:28.280 But while the provincial liquor mandarins take a laissez-faire attitude when it comes to thievery, they just hate being exposed in the media.

00:34:39.400 Indeed, in a recent media release, the LCBO stated that the reason thievery is skyrocketing is due to increased media exposure about the theft problem.

00:34:52.320 Wow. Talk about shooting the messenger.

00:34:55.540 In any event, here's what some of you had to say.

00:34:58.380 Rod Bathgate writes,

00:34:59.640 Sounds like a nice Christmas party for the CEOs at the taxpayers' expense every week of the year.

00:35:10.840 If the supposed $77 million, perhaps a gross underestimation, is lost due to theft,

00:35:18.880 the government would obviously write this off as a massive tax loss again at the taxpayers' expense.

00:35:25.240 I'd say what you have here is a tidy little liquor racket going on.

00:35:31.320 Is there no independent trade practices, ombudsman, that can cover this kind of corruption?

00:35:37.520 Well, indeed, Rod, why is the government selling liquor in the first place?

00:35:41.740 The role of government is to tax and regulate liquor, not retail it.

00:35:46.560 The union has pegged the theft at a staggering $77 million a year.

00:35:51.160 The LCBO disputes this, but they won't provide hard numbers to back up their claims.

00:35:57.720 But why? Doesn't the public have the right to know?

00:36:01.120 After all, it is the public that ultimately owns this entity.

00:36:05.940 And Troy Castor writes,

00:36:07.720 Dude, I saw about six violations of your rights there.

00:36:10.960 One, security, touch your camera, that's assault and battery, and that security guard can lose his job.

00:36:16.380 Two, that property is owned by the taxpayers, which is deemed public property,

00:36:21.100 which means they cannot make you leave as this is a public space.

00:36:25.120 And three, photography is not a crime, which means they cannot block your camera like that.

00:36:30.720 Well, Troy, I can tell you I've been roughed up far worse than that,

00:36:34.120 but wouldn't it be great if those security guards got that revved up

00:36:39.240 when it comes to thieves brazenly waltzing out the store with unpaid merchandise?

00:36:43.440 I mean, isn't that why they're there in the first place?

00:36:47.680 But folks, not everyone was critical of the LCBO.

00:36:50.100 In fact, a few are apologists for the provincial booze monopoly.

00:36:53.900 For example, Mark Pelletier writes,

00:36:56.240 The LCBO is correct.

00:36:58.640 Media attention does, in fact, inspire copycats.

00:37:02.400 I've said for years how the media is complicit in mass shootings as well.

00:37:07.260 And time and time again, research backs that up.

00:37:09.560 In 1933, a Japanese girl committed suicide by jumping into a volcano.

00:37:14.820 That year, hundreds of people followed suit.

00:37:17.380 Until that point, no one had killed themselves at this particular volcano.

00:37:21.680 If you report that thieves can walk in, take what they want, and just walk out,

00:37:26.680 what do you think is going to happen?

00:37:28.560 Theft will increase.

00:37:30.180 Well, Mark, with all due respect, it sounds like you'd make a superb censor.

00:37:35.240 I certainly don't want to live in a world where seldom is heard a discourage in word

00:37:40.260 because reporting bad news might lead to, oh, I don't know, more bad news?

00:37:45.580 I don't know about your Japanese volcano story, but when it comes to liquor theft,

00:37:50.440 of course there are indeed solutions to ensuring the taxpayer,

00:37:54.720 who ultimately owns the LCBO, isn't being ripped off on a daily basis. 0.92

00:38:00.180 This garbage wouldn't be tolerated in the private sector, 0.92

00:38:03.640 but the LCBO is a government-run liquor monopoly. 0.93

00:38:06.820 It simply doesn't care if some 77 million of unpaid merchandise is flying out the door.

00:38:13.020 After all, they can make up the shortfall the following year simply by raising prices,

00:38:18.060 which further penalizes their honest customers.

00:38:22.640 That's what you can do when you're a state-sanctioned liquor monopoly.

00:38:26.660 And finally, Andrew Roy writes, 1.00

00:38:29.620 You don't ask the individual store, you moron. 1.00

00:38:32.900 Go to head office. 1.00

00:38:34.840 Sensationalize it all you want.

00:38:36.260 Theft is everywhere.

00:38:37.800 You stole my precious time.

00:38:39.540 Ah, Andrew, did you watch the entire video?

00:38:41.800 It began with us visiting the LCBO head office,

00:38:45.300 which is across the parking lot from the store we went into.

00:38:48.760 Even though the LCBO has an entire team of media spokesthingies,

00:38:52.800 they cower under their desks when anyone in the media seeks answers to hard questions.

00:38:58.760 What's more, we have put in a Freedom of Information request to find out what the real theft amount is.

00:39:04.480 The LCBO is fighting that request,

00:39:06.880 stating that providing such data wouldn't be in the economic interests of Ontario.
