00:01:04.760 Trump says that James Tallarico is an insult to Jesus. Some good news. More and more people are
00:01:11.740 reading the Bible, but do they really believe what's in it? We've got all of this and more
00:01:16.500 on today's episode of Relatable.
00:01:26.740 Hey guys, welcome to Relatable. Happy Monday. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day so far,
00:01:32.800 that you had a wonderful and peaceful weekend. Hopefully wherever you live, it feels like spring
00:01:37.760 has sprung and you are enjoying the warm weather. We certainly got to over the weekends. All right,
00:01:43.260 just one reminder at the top. We're going to skip all the administrative stuff and get right into it.
00:01:48.140 God's eternal plan of redemption is going off without a hitch. I just sometimes am overwhelmed
00:01:53.300 This morning when I was driving in the car with just the craziness, the wickedness, the evil that goes on, whenever I go speak somewhere, people always ask me, how do you stay joyful?
00:02:03.080 How do you stay peaceful when you are plugged in to the news and you're constantly paying attention to the world's worst things and people?
00:02:11.640 And honestly, I don't get plugged into everything.
00:02:14.160 Maybe it seems like I do because I do this three times a week, but this really isn't a news show.
00:02:18.780 We're not just talking about the news and all of the evil that goes on, but I do probably
00:02:22.800 see it more than the person who is totally unplugged from social media, even though I
00:02:27.540 try to keep it balanced.
00:02:29.480 But I just remind myself, even when I am tempted to think, gosh, it seems like God is ignoring
00:02:34.280 this.
00:02:35.340 It seems like he's not doing anything.
00:02:36.860 It seems like justice is never going to arrive.
00:02:39.940 I just remember that God is never doing nothing, that his wrath is kindling against evil and
00:02:45.680 that He is coming back, that that day of victory is already determined.
00:02:50.380 And you've heard me go back over the years to Psalm 37.
00:02:53.300 It is my go-to chapter when I feel overwhelmed about evil in the world, whether it's a tumultuous
00:03:00.760 circumstance in my own life and I'm distressed about something.
00:03:04.520 I always go back to Psalm 37, and I wish I could just read you the entire chapter.
00:03:08.980 It's a little bit long, so I encourage you today, pull it up on your phone, read Psalm
00:03:13.880 37.
00:03:14.340 I'll just read you a couple of verses right now, but the whole thing is so good.
00:03:19.480 Commit your way to the Lord, trust in him, and he will act.
00:03:23.420 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light and your justice as the noonday.
00:03:28.740 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.
00:03:31.140 Fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil
00:03:36.060 devices.
00:03:37.180 Refrain from anger, forsake wrath.
00:03:39.300 Fret not yourself, it attends only to evil.
00:03:42.380 For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.
00:03:48.280 Because we are made in the image of God, we all have this desire for wrong to be made right,
00:03:54.280 for the evil to fail, and for those who are waging wickedness, especially against the vulnerable and
00:04:06.020 the weak and the defenseless, to get their comeuppance. We can see that reflected in most
00:04:11.260 of the books we read, most of the shows we watch, the movies we see, that we want the good guy to
00:04:17.800 win. And we want vengeance against those who are doing wrong. And it is really, really hard for us
00:04:25.080 to watch as those who are lying, those who are cheating, those who are stealing, those who are
00:04:32.500 gaining power by unjust means continue to be successful. I mean, that's one of the worst
00:04:38.340 feelings in the world when something that is true and right is not being seen and something that is
00:04:45.580 wrong is being justified. I mean, sometimes we just feel so out of control and we just want to
00:04:51.500 wake everyone up and show them, no, this is the right way. That's the wrong way. How can you not
00:04:55.740 see that? But when we feel tempted to fret and distress, we go back to Psalm 37 and we remember
00:05:02.100 what the ultimate fate of the universe is, that wrong will be made right, that evildoers will be
00:05:09.080 exposed, that the good will inherit the earth because of Christ and because God is good, not
00:05:15.660 because we are. So that is what we can trust in. That is where my peace comes from. Yes, of course,
00:05:21.920 my family keeps me grounded, my friends, my church, all of those wonderful things. But ultimately,
00:05:27.500 I know who wins in the end. And that is where my comfort comes from. All right, we've got a lot of
00:05:33.300 theological things to talk about today. Really two major videos that I saw circulating that I saw
00:05:39.240 a lot of Christians commenting on that I want to give my perspective on to try to offer as much
00:05:44.980 clarity as possible. The first video comes from Bibi Netanyahu of Israel. A lot of people were
00:05:52.980 circulating this clip and criticizing Netanyahu for what he says here, Sat One.
00:05:58.560 Unfortunately, and unhappily, Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan.
00:06:05.540 Because if you are strong enough, ruthless enough, powerful enough,
00:06:11.240 evil will overcome good. Aggression will overcome moderation. So you have no choice.
00:06:17.720 If you look at the world as it is today, you have to be blind not to see that the democracies led by the United States have to reassert their will to defend themselves.
00:06:31.680 Commentator Owen Schroer reacted this way.
00:06:34.560 He says, in this short clip, Netanyahu insults Christians and Jesus Christ, asserts there's no purpose in being a good person, says we have no choice but to fight Israel's wars, subtly threatens us if we don't.
00:06:46.940 Mario Nafal, I don't know how to pronounce his last name, said on X, Netanyahu went full
00:06:53.100 edgelord. Bro, that's not a flex, that's a facepalm. Israel's already fighting the global
00:06:58.640 optics war and the prime minister decides to drop might makes right, Jesus who, in the middle of it.
00:07:05.500 There's another X user called the Patriot Voice who said Netanyahu has come out of hiding to
00:07:10.860 mock Jesus Christ in the most blasphemous way possible? How can Christian Zionists continue
00:07:17.600 to reconcile and support a man and country that literally hates and mocks our Lord and Savior,
00:07:23.220 Jesus Christ? Okay, let's give some context to what Netanyahu seems to be saying here. He's
00:07:28.080 quoting an American historian, Will Durant. He was a Catholic. He turned into an agnostic as an adult.
00:07:33.880 And his 1968 book, you see that actually at the beginning of the full clip, that he is quoting
00:07:40.260 this book called the lessons of history. And the full quote is this nature and history do not agree
00:07:46.360 with our conceptions of good and bad. They define good as that which survives and bad is that which
00:07:51.940 goes under. And the universe has no prejudice in favor of Christ as against Genghis Khan.
00:07:58.640 Netanyahu added on X later to clarify, no offense was meant. I did not denigrate Jesus Christ at my
00:08:05.200 news conference this evening. A morally superior civilization may still fall to a ruthless enemy
00:08:11.100 if it does not have the power to defend itself. So what are my thoughts on this? Is he blaspheming
00:08:17.920 Jesus Christ here? Are these commentators correct that he is being an edgelord that is mocking the
00:08:23.520 teachings of Jesus? Well, I have lots of thoughts that might make everyone mad, but hopefully for
00:08:30.160 the Christian, we'll add a lot of clarity. Let me pause, tell you about our first sponsor for the
00:08:34.300 day first and that is every life i'm so thankful for a pro-life diaper company a diaper company
00:08:41.620 that knows what a woman is a diaper company that knows that life is life no matter how small and
00:08:46.800 that life has value and they put their values in everything they do and every product they create
00:08:53.300 that's why all of their diapers and wipes are so high quality they're hypoallergenic made from
00:08:58.660 really clean materials we've been using every life diapers and wipes for years now they work
00:09:04.260 really well. They're really soft. I love the clean materials that they're made with. And of course,
00:09:09.180 I love most of all that unlike most other diaper companies, they're not supporting Planned
00:09:13.520 Parenthood. They're not supporting these pro-abortion politicians. I mean, it's crazy that
00:09:17.400 you even have to think that way, but you do. They actually support pregnancy centers who are saving
00:09:21.900 baby lives. They donate items and their dollars to these pregnancy centers and you partner with
00:09:28.500 them every time you buy Every Life. If you go to everylife.com and you use code Allie10, go ahead
00:09:34.620 and subscribe to their box of diapers and wipes. That's what we do. You'll save 10% on your order
00:09:39.280 when you use my code everylife.com, code Allie10. Okay, here are my thoughts on that controversial
00:09:50.860 clip. It may have been wrong for Netanyahu to use this quote as a defense of his or America's
00:09:56.700 actions, basically saying it's not the peaceful, merciful, and loving who conquer evil. It's the
00:10:02.420 ruthless and the powerful. Victory is not necessarily rewarded to the pacifists. Now,
00:10:08.180 I disagree that he is insulting Jesus Christ here. He actually seems to me to be making an effort to
00:10:14.820 caveat what he's saying, that unfortunately, he says, unhappily, it's not the way of Jesus that
00:10:21.180 wins wars. However, it was also an unfortunate way to make his point because the quote I think
00:10:28.480 is a misunderstanding of the Christian worldview. We do serve a Jesus who tells us blessed are the
00:10:34.340 peacemakers, blessed are the meek, blessed are the poor in spirit. The characteristics of the
00:10:39.200 Christian life are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control.
00:10:44.320 But there is also the just war theory that Christian thinkers over time have taught that
00:10:48.980 asserts that there are good reasons to wield violence in defense of the innocent against
00:10:54.000 the wicked. Of course, we see throughout the Old Testament God's demand for war and violence
00:10:58.460 waged by his people to accomplish his purposes. I'm not saying that the Old Testament is a
00:11:03.740 justification for America's wars. It is to say and to point out that one cannot state that in
00:11:10.200 principle, God is always against war and violence, as I've heard, for example, the Pope say.
00:11:14.520 And the God of the Old Testament is the God of today and is not contradicted or negated by Jesus.
00:11:21.480 Now, we don't live in ancient Israel, so we don't need to be modeled after the Old Testament
00:11:25.660 Hebrews, but we can look to the Old Testament principles to see the character and the mind
00:11:30.940 of God, which still persists today. And so Christians hold these two views at the same
00:11:36.880 time, and they don't contradict one another. The quote that Netanyahu is referencing
00:11:41.540 is actually correct. And the Christian worldview understands that. Christian thinkers understand
00:11:48.480 that the universe, meaning earthly powers, does not here on earth always bend to the will of love.
00:11:55.460 Sometimes it bends to the will of force. And we can debate about when and how that force is
00:12:00.380 necessary and good. But as a rule, that observation is correct because we live in a fallen world.
00:12:06.200 But again, the quote, and perhaps Netanyahu misunderstand the fullness of the Christian
00:12:12.340 way.
00:12:12.800 It's not just isolated Sermon on the Mount teachings from Jesus that inform our entire
00:12:19.000 worldview and our view of war.
00:12:22.460 Christians as a church do follow the peaceful, gentle, merciful way of Christ while still
00:12:27.440 acknowledging the Romans 13 responsibility of the government to wield the sword against
00:12:31.660 the evildoer.
00:12:32.380 and I think honestly I think the freak out over what he said was just outsized like you can be
00:12:39.660 mad that maybe you don't think that he used that quote correctly or that he doesn't understand the
00:12:44.180 fullness of the worldview or that you just thought it was the wrong time or the wrong way to use
00:12:48.120 that quote okay be mad about the Iran war if you want to be mad that he said Jesus's name at all
00:12:54.780 okay be mad that he's trying to justify violence or that you believe he's roped America into an
00:12:59.820 unnecessary war if that's your position. But I just think that much of the outrage about blasphemy
00:13:05.840 here is completely misplaced. Ultimately, this is what we know. This is what we as Christians know.
00:13:12.400 Ultimately, Jesus is coming back, not as a baby, but as a warrior. He will defeat evil. He will
00:13:17.740 defeat evildoers. He will avenge God's people. And while maybe it seems to unbelievers like Jesus's
00:13:23.780 way is the way of losers because in a chaotic evil world, his followers continue to love,
00:13:28.100 continue to have joy, continue to make peace, because indeed, these may equal loss here on
00:13:33.900 earth. Ultimately, we know the meek do inherit the earth. Ultimately, because of Christ,
00:13:39.140 we do win. And here's what I think is missing by these people who are so hyper critical and
00:13:44.900 hypersensitive to everything Israel and its representatives do. They never seem to focus
00:13:51.200 on this part, that we want Bibi Netanyahu, like we want any non-believer, to understand who Jesus
00:13:57.720 actually is. That Jesus is the promised Messiah. He is the root of Jesse. He is the son of David.
00:14:04.960 And I just want to read this passage, and this is to every Jewish listener that I have out there.
00:14:10.540 This is a message to Bibi Netanyahu, and that is Isaiah 53, 4-5.
00:14:16.720 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we esteemed him stricken,
00:14:21.260 smitten by God and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed
00:14:25.620 for our iniquities upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace and with his wounds we are
00:14:32.360 healed that is jesus that is the prophesied messiah he has already come and he is jesus of
00:14:39.540 nazareth i want to read this quote by tim keller and i know we evangelicals and myself included
00:14:46.880 i've talked about this have had problems with some of the things that tim keller taught especially
00:14:52.720 when it came to how our Christianity should inform our politics, but gosh, he had some
00:14:59.140 really, really good work, really good explanations of the gospel, and I think this particular
00:15:05.100 one is really pertinent.
00:15:06.840 He said, Jesus is the true and better Adam, who passed the test in the garden and whose
00:15:12.420 obedience is imputed to us.
00:15:14.980 Jesus is the true and better Abel, who, though innocently slain, has blood now that cries
00:15:20.540 out, not for our condemnation, but for our acquittal.
00:15:24.480 Jesus is the true and better Abraham, who answered the call of God to leave all the
00:15:28.820 comfortable and familiar and go out into the void, not knowing whether he went to create
00:15:34.620 a new people of God.
00:15:36.520 Jesus is the true and better Isaac, who was not just offered up by his father on the mount,
00:15:41.580 but was truly sacrificed for us.
00:15:43.940 And when God said to Abraham, now I know you love me because you did not withhold your
00:15:48.200 son, your only son whom you love from me. Now we can look at God taking up his son to the mountain
00:15:54.720 and sacrificing him and say, now we know that you love us, God, because you did not withhold your
00:16:01.080 son, your only son, whom you love from us. Jesus is the true and better Jacob who wrestled and took
00:16:08.980 the blow of justice we deserved. So we, like Jacob, only receive the wounds of grace to wake
00:16:14.220 us up and discipline us. Jesus is the true and better Joseph, who at the right hand of the king
00:16:19.860 forgives those who betrayed and sold him and uses his new power to save them. Jesus is the true and
00:16:26.020 better Moses, who stands in the gap between the people and the Lord and who mediates a new
00:16:30.900 covenant. Jesus is the true and better rock of Moses, who struck with the rod of God's justice
00:16:37.160 now gives us water in the desert. Jesus is the true and better Job, the truly innocent sufferer
00:16:43.360 who then intercedes for and saves his stupid friends.
00:16:47.140 Jesus is the true and better David,
00:16:49.060 whose victory becomes his people's victory,
00:16:51.460 though they never lifted a stone to accomplish it themselves.
00:16:54.800 He's the true and better Esther,
00:16:56.520 who didn't just risk leaving an earthly palace,
00:16:58.940 but lost the ultimate and heavenly one,
00:17:01.140 who didn't just risk his life,
00:17:02.600 but gave his life to save his people.
00:17:05.160 He's the true and better Jonah,
00:17:07.840 who was cast out into the storm so that we could be brought in.
00:17:10.860 He's the real rock of Moses.
00:17:13.100 He's the real Passover lamb, innocent, perfect, helpless, slain.
00:17:17.820 So the angel of death will pass over us.
00:17:20.420 He's the true temple.
00:17:21.720 He's the true prophet, the true priest, the true king, the true sacrifice, the true lamb,
00:17:27.060 the true light, the true bread.
00:17:31.020 You cannot believe that.
00:17:33.260 You cannot preach that if you hate Jews.
00:17:37.180 There are a lot of Jew haters out there who demonstrate their hatred not only for Jews,
00:17:42.660 but for their Jewish savior by finding every single opportunity to pin every evil on Israel
00:17:49.320 and Netanyahu, but they show no desire for Jewish people to know Christ.
00:17:54.400 Our sentiment toward Jewish people should reflect that of Paul, who, before he came
00:17:58.960 to Christ, described himself as a Hebrew of Hebrews, from the line of Benjamin and
00:18:03.100 carrying every title and accolade that a Jewish scholar could hold at the time.
00:18:06.640 And he says this in Romans 9, 3 through 5,
00:18:08.880 For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers,
00:18:13.380 my kinsmen according to the flesh, they're Israelites.
00:18:16.780 And to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law,
00:18:20.300 the worship, and the promises.
00:18:21.840 To them belong the patriarchs.
00:18:23.620 And from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ,
00:18:26.700 who is God over all, blessed forever.
00:18:29.260 Amen.
00:18:29.500 again. I've got just a little bit more to say about this in just a second. Let me pause. Let
00:18:34.420 me tell you about our second sponsor for the day first, and that is Legacy Box. If you are trying
00:18:39.040 to pass down your memories, but you're afraid that you won't be able to find all of your
00:18:44.700 pictures, that you won't be able to store them correctly, that they're not organized, right?
00:18:48.900 Then you just need to take all of those pictures, all of those DVDs, all of those VHS home videos,
00:18:54.440 put them in a box that's sent to you by Legacy Box, ship it all to them, and they'll digitize
00:18:59.040 all of it. They'll put it all in a file. They'll organize everything for you, however you want it
00:19:05.500 to be organized. And then they'll send the hard copies back to you and then they'll send you your
00:19:09.620 digital file. So you are ensured to be able to pass down these precious memories forever.
00:19:15.320 I know my mom needs this. She needs Legacy Box because she's got so many pictures. They're very
00:19:19.580 well organized and so many home videos. And it's so fun. And I care about those. I want to be able
00:19:24.400 to pass those down to my children. And it's just peace of mind if I also have a digital copy of
00:19:30.080 all of those pictures and videos. So go to LegacyBox.com slash Allie. Take advantage of
00:19:36.520 Legacy Box's spring cleaning sale. Preserve your family's story. Go to LegacyBox.com slash Allie.
00:19:48.200 I will probably get criticized by both sides for that monologue and that's okay. I'm not a
00:19:53.760 dispensationalist. I feel no obligation to unconditionally defend Israel. I've never been
00:19:59.440 to Israel. I have no connections to Israel. I'd love to go to Israel. I've just never been and
00:20:03.940 I'm not connected to it. I simply refuse to play games with conspiracies. Super trendy to do that
00:20:11.320 right now when it comes to Israel and Jewish people. And I just refuse to let hate toward
00:20:16.000 people who share half my Bible win. Instead, I'm going to do my best to tell the truth in love,
00:20:21.800 no matter whom it offends.
00:20:24.340 And one commonality, again, that I've seen with a lot of the people
00:20:27.680 who are just like fomenting so much anger and hatred
00:20:30.960 and spin all of these conspiracies
00:20:32.740 is a misunderstanding and a disbelief of the gospel themselves.
00:20:36.560 Like, it really is a spiritual issue.
00:20:40.200 In Acts 4, this is another great model for us
00:20:43.260 as we Christians are speaking to nonbelievers,
00:20:45.420 but especially those who are Jewish.
00:20:47.660 And this could be offensive.
00:20:49.680 offensive. I think it was offensive at the time when Peter was speaking, but if God says it is
00:20:54.780 true and God loves people so much more than we do, and God loves the Jewish people so much more than
00:20:59.200 we do, then it bears repeating. And this is Acts 4, 10 through 12, as Peter is speaking to Jewish
00:21:05.600 leaders. He says, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name
00:21:10.300 of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by him, this man
00:21:15.420 is standing before you as well, or standing before you well, because they had just healed
00:21:19.900 a crippled man. This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become
00:21:25.120 the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven
00:21:30.080 given among men by which we must be saved. I think it's really important for us to remember that last
00:21:37.640 thing right there, because you do, I think, have a portion of dispensationalists and some hardcore
00:21:43.120 pro-Israel evangelicals who are under this false impression that there is a different plan of
00:21:48.720 salvation for the Jewish people. And that's just not true. There is no name under heaven by which
00:21:54.760 one must be saved, and that is Jesus Christ. That is the promised Messiah who has already come
00:22:00.320 and is coming back. And because of the name of Jesus, every tongue will confess and every
00:22:05.540 knee will bow. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
00:22:10.840 that day is coming. And God doesn't need us and need our evangelism and need our prayers to
00:22:16.520 accomplish his will because he is self-sufficient. He can do anything that he wants to do, but by
00:22:21.060 grace, he has chosen us to accomplish his will. And so we share the gospel boldly. We tell the
00:22:26.880 truth boldly. We try to represent God's truth in love as well as we can by the power of the Holy
00:22:32.920 Spirit. And that comes to all forms of non-believers, no matter how politically incorrect
00:22:40.580 it may be. And one of those non-believers that I want to continue to correct, not really for his
00:22:48.500 sake as much as for the sake of my audience who needs this clarity, is on the other side of the
00:22:54.920 political aisle, I guess you could say, and that is James Tallarico. You probably know James Tallarico
00:23:01.100 By now, he is a Texas state representative, and he is running against the Republican candidate for Senate.
00:23:08.320 So he is trying to take John Cornyn's place.
00:23:11.360 He wants to represent the state of Texas.
00:23:13.800 We've done several episodes on James Tallarico.
00:23:16.520 You should go back and listen to those if you want more examples of what he actually believes in his own words.
00:23:23.700 But now he's got the attention of Trump, and Trump has something to say about him.
00:23:28.740 Let me tell you the good news.
00:23:30.540 The good news is their candidate is whacked out with his six different forms of gender and all the things that I saw.
00:23:37.680 The insult to Jesus.
00:23:40.180 I mean, such an insult.
00:23:41.780 This guy is binary.
00:23:43.740 Yeah, I mean, Trump is obviously absolutely right about that.
00:23:48.160 He's right about everything that he said.
00:23:50.280 Tallarico is very extreme, very kooky.
00:23:53.540 He uses the name of Jesus to justify his extremism.
00:23:57.040 But Tallarico responded to Trump. And just from a political strategy, PR perspective, he absolutely should have responded to Trump.
00:24:07.920 Him setting himself against Trump and an enemy of Trump is a winning strategy for Democrats and moderates who don't like Trump.
00:24:16.600 So here's what he had to say.
00:24:17.740 The president of the United States just said that I insulted Jesus.
00:24:23.920 You want to know what insults Jesus? Kicking the sick off their health care while cutting taxes for billionaires.
00:24:33.760 You know what insults Jesus? Deporting the stranger and separating babies from their mothers.
00:24:42.580 You know what insults Jesus? Bombing innocent schoolchildren in Iran and sending our brave men and women off to die in another forever war.
00:24:52.680 you know what insults jesus covering up the epstein files and then refusing to prosecute
00:25:00.340 a single person in them okay he goes on to say uh jesus told us uh jesus told us he told us to
00:25:09.220 love our neighbors as ourselves he told us on heaven or uh on earth as in heaven can we imagine
00:25:15.460 war in heaven can we imagine bigotry in heaven can we imagine poverty in heaven then why do we
00:25:20.940 tolerate these things on earth one thing i just want to point out because he looks it looks like
00:25:24.540 he's at a predominantly black church there people always talk about oh you know white christian
00:25:29.360 nationalism white evangelical churches so political so pro-trump there is no more openly political and
00:25:36.420 politically biased church than the predominantly black church in america not every single one but
00:25:42.300 the only reason they don't get accused of christian nationalism or they don't get their 501c3 status
00:25:47.900 threatened or progressives aren't freaking out about the need for separation of church and state
00:25:53.480 when it comes to these black churches is because they're Democrat, is because they're something for
00:25:57.880 Democrats. They're actually having politicians come in and campaign at their pulpit, and that
00:26:02.680 is routinely conflated with the gospel. Am I saying every predominantly black church? No,
00:26:07.480 I'm not. But it's a trend. We know that. We see that over and over again. Very popular to conflate
00:26:14.580 using government-mandated wealth redistribution with the gospel and these type of churches.
00:26:22.260 But when evangelicals say, yeah, Psalm 139 says we're knit in our mother's womb,
00:26:26.600 therefore abortion is wrong. And gosh, if we make it illegal to murder people outside the womb,
00:26:31.840 it seems like we should make it illegal to murder people inside the womb. Oh my gosh,
00:26:35.080 that's Christo-fascism. So scary. I just want to point that out. Okay. I've got a couple of
00:26:39.600 things to say about, well, I've got a lot of things to say actually about all of this. Surprise,
00:26:42.760 surprised. Okay. First, I just don't want, this would be my advice to Trump. I don't want Trump
00:26:47.260 to talk about Tallarico anymore. I don't want him to talk about Tallarico anymore, even though
00:26:50.880 everything he said is absolutely true. Because as I said, becoming Trump's enemy is mobilizing for
00:26:55.800 Democrats and Trump hating moderates in the state of Texas. Also, I support Trump, but his realm is
00:27:01.020 not theology. And so comments like he's an insult to Jesus don't really help this conversation.
00:27:07.080 There are people to say that. I personally don't think Trump is one of them. There's so much going
00:27:12.720 on here in what Tallarico is saying. He, like Satan, always mixes lies with truth. He always
00:27:18.480 makes the truth sound righteous and palatable and enticing. And so I'll just point out some
00:27:24.120 of the true things that he says before I get into the complete and total lies. Jesus is saddened by
00:27:29.100 sickness and death. Jesus is saddened by the killing of innocents always. Jesus is definitely
00:27:34.200 against Jeffrey Epstein and the delay of justice. All of that is true. Here are some things that are
00:27:40.280 not true. It is not true that Jesus is always against war. Romans 13, New Testament, part of
00:27:46.500 the inerrant word of God, says that the government bears the sword to punish the evildoer, both here
00:27:51.280 and abroad. Lots of debate and nuance about when and how that should be used, absolutely, but it
00:27:56.940 does mean, at least in principle, that not all government-wielded violence is wrong, and actually
00:28:01.660 that it is at times necessary to protect the innocent and to quell evil. It is not true that
00:28:07.400 to love the sick, we have to have a government-provided and mandated healthcare system.
00:28:11.920 Christians have a very long, rich history of caring for the sick, and we should continue
00:28:16.020 to do that. That does not require us to support Medicare for All. If you go back and watch
00:28:20.580 Friday's episode about Canada's euthanasia program that encourages people to be murdered
00:28:25.360 by their medical provider when they're too big of a burden on their family or on the healthcare
00:28:28.980 system, you'll see what I'm talking about. State-provided medical care is not always
00:28:33.460 compassionate, it actually usually ends up victimizing the poor and the defenseless.
00:28:38.200 Reminder, this is a big reminder here, and you always have to keep this in mind when you're
00:28:42.400 listening to anyone who calls themselves a progressive Christian. Christian generosity
00:28:46.220 has nothing to do with your taxes. Christian generosity has nothing to do with your taxes.
00:28:53.380 You as a Christian could support zero taxpayer funded programs and still be considered a generous
00:28:58.280 Christian. Christians are called to charity. Charity, by definition, is voluntary. Taxes are
00:29:04.180 not voluntary. 2 Corinthians 9.7, each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly
00:29:10.760 or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. The early church in Acts, a lot of times
00:29:16.600 you see these so-called progressive Christians referencing the early church, giving each other
00:29:21.920 everything that they had to make sure that everyone was cared for as a justification for
00:29:25.720 socialism but these early christians gave to one another empowered by the holy spirit they did so
00:29:31.880 voluntarily they weren't forced by the government to do so supporting government programs that take
00:29:36.960 money from one group and forcibly give it to another group that's what medicare for all would
00:29:42.580 be that's what all these socialist programs are it's not charity it's coveting it's stealing
00:29:47.760 forced wealth redistribution violates two of the ten commandments thou shall not covet and thou
00:29:52.160 shall not steal that's why socialism never works and always ends uh it's why it always ends in
00:29:58.140 tyranny and misery it's an ideology that sounds really compassionate care for the least of these
00:30:04.040 close the wealth gap but it is always carried out in a way that is anti-god and anti-human nature
00:30:10.460 it is an ideology that is built on greed and envy and by the way outsourcing your generosity to the
00:30:17.340 government is a sin. If you're not forking over your dollars to the needy until the government
00:30:23.040 threatens you with jail, then you are an unchristian miser, not a bleeding heart empath.
00:30:29.500 James also quotes Jesus when he says, on earth as it is in heaven. That's part of the Lord's
00:30:34.900 prayer. This is a tactic that is used by a lot of people who call themselves liberal Christians
00:30:40.380 to justify progressive, not only policies, but also cultural views like transgenderism. And I'll
00:30:49.040 explain that in just a second. Let me pause, tell you about our next sponsor first. That's Concerned
00:30:53.680 Women for America. Did you know, this is a very sad fact, that 80%, over 80% of young women in
00:31:00.420 New York City voted to install a radical Islamic socialist to run the city, Zoran Mamdani. Half
00:31:08.340 of american women according to one study want to abolish ice okay we know all about why this is
00:31:14.180 toxic empathy propaganda misplaced motherhood but there is an organization that is trying to
00:31:20.080 fight back against that by recruiting as many america-loving god-fearing women as possible
00:31:25.820 and that is concerned women for america for 45 years they have been leading the charges your
00:31:31.000 voice in all levels of public policy they focus on family sanctity of life religious liberty
00:31:36.360 parental choice and education, national sovereignty, fighting sexual exploitation.
00:31:42.500 They train women to become grassroots leaders, speak into the culture, pray, testify, and lobby.
00:31:48.260 They've got collegiate chapters, mom chapters, professionals, mature women,
00:31:52.240 all coming together to fight for future generations.
00:31:55.640 Go to ConcernedWomen.org slash Allie.
00:31:57.780 When you donate $20 or more, you get a copy of their booklet on socialism.
00:32:02.480 Very pertinent to what we're talking about.
00:32:04.440 Go to ConcernedWomen.org slash Allie.
00:32:12.020 So he quotes part of the Lord's Prayer there.
00:32:15.140 May your will be done is the first part.
00:32:17.840 Then he says, on earth as it is in heaven.
00:32:21.120 James uses that to justify socialist policies and then to use the government to supposedly
00:32:26.360 eliminate poverty.
00:32:28.180 You heard him say that we need to imagine a world or we need to have a world without
00:32:32.420 any poverty.
00:32:33.040 And I just first want to say that has never happened in all of history anywhere.
00:32:37.560 The government has never created a program that has eliminated poverty.
00:32:43.720 No communist country has ever been rich.
00:32:46.100 Okay, that's first.
00:32:47.620 Two, he says, if poverty is not in heaven, it shouldn't be here.
00:32:51.860 So many things on that.
00:32:53.140 Jesus says in Matthew 26, 11, the poor will always be with you.
00:32:56.900 Now, that's not Jesus saying that poverty is great, that you shouldn't care about the
00:33:00.500 poor at all, that you shouldn't try to help them and meet their material needs. That's not what
00:33:05.800 he's saying. You can read the whole chapter or the whole passage in context there. But he is saying
00:33:11.540 there's always going to be poor people. There's always going to be poverty for a variety of
00:33:15.540 reasons. Poverty is not always the result of injustice. That is something that liberals
00:33:20.660 believe. Poverty could be the result of injustice, many such cases throughout history. But poverty
00:33:26.840 sometimes is the result of choices. And that is a form of agency that liberals want to rob from
00:33:33.700 people who are poor. But when you rob people of their agency, you also rob them of their dignity
00:33:39.480 and also just what makes them image bearers of God. And that is why progressives come up with
00:33:44.240 such bad policy prescriptions, because they misunderstand human nature and just the nature
00:33:49.380 of sin and autonomy in general. There is no government responsibility or possibility to
00:33:55.180 eliminate poverty completely. Again, Christians and churches, we care for the poor. We don't
00:34:00.140 outsource our compassion to the state. Also, a couple other things that aren't in heaven that
00:34:05.320 he doesn't agree with. There's no sin in heaven. There are no non-Christians in heaven. Two things
00:34:11.160 James doesn't even believe. James doesn't agree with Jesus's teachings about marriage and sexuality
00:34:16.380 as seen in Matthew 19, four through five. He doesn't believe in sin and salvation the way
00:34:21.020 jesus teaches he doesn't believe in john 14 6 when jesus says i am the way the truth the life
00:34:26.840 no one comes to the father except through me liberals also do not have the same view of the
00:34:32.580 end times that we do and this is something we really need to understand what they mean by
00:34:36.920 kingdom of heaven what they mean when they say bring god's kingdom here on earth they believe
00:34:43.560 that all of christianity is essentially a metaphor now there may be some disagreements within what
00:34:50.720 is called progressive Christianity about what is literal in the Bible and about what is not.
00:34:55.200 But in general, the grand picture of Christianity is just kind of a meta-narrative of political
00:35:02.760 liberation from oppression. So God's kingdom to them here on earth means using political means
00:35:10.420 to enforce equality to, they would say, end racism. They would say to stop all oppression.
00:35:17.420 Really what it is, it's just socialism.
00:35:20.120 That's all it is.
00:35:20.880 It's socialism enforced using decontextualized Bible verses, using toxic empathy via these
00:35:27.020 Bible verses to manipulate you into thinking that if you don't support government-mandated
00:35:32.040 healthcare, if you don't allow abortion through all nine months, it's because you're a bad
00:35:35.660 person.
00:35:36.540 If you don't support open borders, it's because you're a bigot.
00:35:39.460 It's actually Christian nationalism.
00:35:41.700 It's a form of Christian nationalism that is much more intrusive into people's lives.
00:35:45.740 It's much more brutal.
00:35:46.580 It's much more totalitarian than anything that's espoused by a conservative evangelical.
00:35:50.920 You can read anything about communism in the 20th century.
00:35:53.920 The Gulag archipelago is a good place to start.
00:35:56.480 And you'll see what this ideology looks like in real life.
00:35:59.540 It's death.
00:36:00.260 It's destruction.
00:36:01.660 And it's always brought in using a compassionate message.
00:36:06.080 Because using the state to create a utopia in which no one is poor, no one has less than
00:36:12.000 anyone else.
00:36:12.980 Everyone can abort their babies through nine months.
00:36:15.020 Everyone can switch their genders. Everyone can marry their polycule. It's actually impossible without a brutal murderous regime working against human nature to force its ideology. And actually, all of that ends up victimizing the most vulnerable.
00:36:29.120 Totally or total equality of possessions will never happen on Earth. It cannot happen again without brutal force. That's why the 20th century was so deadly and bloody. It's not even supposed to happen here on Earth.
00:36:44.760 That is not something that's guaranteed.
00:36:46.620 That is not the biblical model that we see.
00:36:48.900 We should advance the kingdom of God by sharing the gospel, by advocating for righteousness,
00:36:54.140 by loving your neighbor, serving them, telling the truth.
00:36:57.300 And yes, also part of what we are called to do, although the kingdom of God will be advanced
00:37:02.600 no matter what, because he's sovereign, but we should also support policies that bring
00:37:07.200 order and safety to those around us.
00:37:10.940 One thing that he said that is true,
00:37:13.820 Jesus did command us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
00:37:17.820 But, James, I don't think you know what love is.
00:37:21.940 Because we can't love our neighbors and abort them, James Tallarico.
00:37:25.700 If you wouldn't want to be poisoned and dismembered,
00:37:28.480 then why do you support that option for babies?
00:37:31.320 Your weakest and most oppressed neighbors, Texas babies, are also your neighbors.
00:37:35.860 You cannot love your neighbors and support the destruction of their bodies via wrong sex hormones and puberty blockers and double mastectomies.
00:37:43.960 That gender-deceived kid who was illegally rendered permanently sterile, thanks to hormone medications distributed at Texas Children's Hospital, is your neighbor.
00:37:54.740 You can't love your neighbor and support the infiltration of illegal foreign criminals who will kill them.
00:38:00.420 Jocelyn Nungary, a teen who was murdered by two illegals in Houston, was your neighbor.
00:38:05.860 You can't love your neighbor and call for the abolition of prisons, which you have, James Tallarico.
00:38:10.480 This is the only protection so many poor women and children have from the predators who have harmed them.
00:38:16.560 Jacqueline Wilson was a Houston mom of four, 32 years old.
00:38:20.380 She was reportedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend who was released from prison by a progressive judge despite being a violent offender.
00:38:27.780 She was your neighbor.
00:38:28.520 you can't love your neighbor and deny the gospel that saves their souls as you have so many times
00:38:34.300 when you've asserted that all religions point to the same truth that jesus points to
00:38:38.680 you can't love your neighbor and support the chaos that kills them you can't love your neighbor and
00:38:43.520 lie to them you can't love your neighbor and affirm sin you can't love your neighbor while
00:38:48.440 hating the things that god hates and loving the things that satan loves and you do you are an
00:38:55.280 insult to Christianity. Your beliefs are an affront to the Imago Dei. And I look forward
00:39:00.700 to Texans showing you out of politics in November, and hopefully you are shown out of the pulpit as
00:39:05.920 well. All right. Well, after all of that, we do have some good news that hopefully more and more
00:39:12.860 people are waking up to the false teachings that are being put forward by so many people,
00:39:16.660 especially those who are within the ideology and ilk of James Tallarico. And the reason I think
00:39:24.280 why so many people are waking up, why I thankfully, and this is not always something I say,
00:39:29.060 but I am so thankful that pastors have really been stepping up, talking about how dangerous
00:39:34.520 James Tallarico's theology is. And the reason I think for just this renewed energy and speaking
00:39:42.020 out against false teaching is because more people are reading their Bibles. Praise God.
00:39:47.060 There is a Barna study out that shows that more and more people are reading their Bible every
00:39:51.380 week so we'll get into that in just a second let me tell you about our next sponsor for the day
00:39:55.180 and that is pre-born y'all pre-born is amazing they are saving thousands of baby lives every
00:40:01.760 month they are making sure that pregnancy centers across the country have the equipment that they
00:40:06.880 need to save baby lives we know that when a mom sees her baby on the ultrasound when she hears
00:40:12.220 that beating heart when she sees that little baby body she realizes that's not a clump of cells
00:40:17.360 that's not just pregnancy tissue that's a human being that's my baby and she is so much more
00:40:21.780 likely to choose life we just have to tell the truth to these women we have to show up for them
00:40:26.280 we have to love them we have to provide what they need to help them make a life-affirming choice
00:40:30.800 so many of these women simply think they're alone and that no one cares for them we prove them wrong
00:40:35.400 every day and pre-born is in the business of proving that wrong by showing up for these
00:40:40.120 women by showing up for these pregnancy centers in order to save these lives they need your help

00:41:06.320 Okay, great news.
00:41:07.860 According to a Barna study,
00:41:09.660 weekly Bible reading among U.S. adults has climbed to 42%,
00:41:12.860 up 12 points after a 15-year low in 2024. So it's still not as high as it has ever been,
00:41:21.580 because you can see there in the chart that's up in 2010, it reached a high, which is actually
00:41:27.960 just so interesting when I think about my own life. I think I really started being interested
00:41:33.440 in theology and scripture and reading the Bible more deeply around 2010, 2011. It makes me wonder
00:41:38.800 what was going on in the church at the time, but that's a different subject for a different day.
00:41:43.660 That is a dramatic increase. I would say that is the most dramatic increase that we've seen
00:41:48.280 since the beginning of the study back in 2000. And there are so many reasons for this, I think,
00:41:54.820 but one of them is the chaos of the world. I mean, especially since 2020, realizing you can't trust
00:42:01.020 politicians. And a lot of people have had friends and family betray them, turn away from them
00:42:06.020 because of politics, because of COVID, because of so many issues, hearing the wars and the rumors
00:42:11.160 of wars constantly. I think also the assassination of Charlie Kirk, I think that inspired a lot of
00:42:17.740 people to start digging into their Bibles and to realize that this is a spiritual battle of good
00:42:23.120 and evil, and we don't see the exact numbers there. It's easy to think with all of the online
00:42:28.380 turbulence, all of the online conflict in the past several months after Charlie was murdered,
00:42:34.300 that, okay, well, the revival is just gone. The revival is not going to happen because now
00:42:39.420 Satan, the accuser, is creating all of this chaos and dissension that has just kind of quelled
00:42:44.640 the awakening. But it's a battle. That's why it's called a spiritual battle. That's why in Ephesians
00:42:49.700 6, we are called to take up the full armor of God head to toe, because there is a prince of the
00:42:56.400 power of the air, as Ephesians 2 calls him, that is looking to sow confusion and is looking to
00:43:06.160 sow deceit and to take people's eyes off the glory of God. But God is more powerful than that.
00:43:12.900 And I think this just encourages me that God is working. He's seeking and saving the lost,
00:43:17.920 and his word doesn't return void. So this study goes on to say, so interesting, this is what we
00:43:22.860 see in study after study that young adults lead the way, with nearly half of Gen Z and millennials
00:43:26.820 now engaging in scripture weekly. For specifically Gen Z and millennial men, it's over half for the
00:43:32.540 first time in a decade. You go, men. Good job. Millennials saw a 16% increase in weekly Bible
00:43:38.260 readers from 2024 to 2025, while Gen Z shot up 19 points. Gen X also increased by 12% in the same
00:43:46.600 time span. Less than a third of baby boomers are weekly Bible study readers. Baby boomers?
00:43:51.500 what's going on there they peaked at 49 percent in 2010 okay still something going on in 2010
00:44:00.860 i'm just afraid that a lot of baby boomers feel that they've done enough and i'm sure that's
00:44:06.620 tempting to feel at that stage of your life that you've gone to church enough that you've read
00:44:11.460 enough that there's maybe not anything new and you're just kind of coasting at this point but
00:44:18.240 that is a wrong view of the Christian faith. That is a wrong view of the word of God. That is a
00:44:22.400 wrong view of our sanctification. Gen X and millennials and Gen Z, however, this is not
00:44:29.960 good. This is not good. We got work to do on Relatable, all lag behind in their belief that
00:44:35.740 the Bible is totally accurate. You can see that there on the chart. Oddly enough, 32% of baby
00:44:42.760 boomers believe the Bible is totally accurate, 1% higher than weekly Bible readers in that
00:44:47.560 generation. So maybe that's what the baby boomers are doing. They're like, it's all true. I got it.
00:44:52.540 I got it. I got it. I got it. It's all true. And maybe millennials are reading it more as skeptics.
00:44:58.620 And that's not good. I would like for those numbers to be higher. I want everyone to be
00:45:02.360 reading the Bible and everyone to believe that the Bible is totally true. Pew also reports that
00:45:08.440 after many years of study decline, the share of Americans who identify as Christians has leveled
00:45:12.740 off actually reversed in the last two years. So that's another encouraging trend. Overall,
00:45:18.600 we're still down. You see in 2007, 78% of adults identified as Christian, and now it's 63. It hit
00:45:27.440 a low at, it looks like about 60% a few years ago, and now it's up 63. So any increase is good.
00:45:33.860 Of course, we care less about how people identify and what people actually believe.
00:45:40.160 Ligonier Ministries, they released a study recently, their 2025 State of Theology study,
00:45:47.680 which shows that evangelicals, so those who say they believe the Bible to be 100% true and
00:45:52.700 trustworthy, they really just don't know the basics of Christianity. They think that all
00:45:59.440 people were born good and innocent, that God accepts the worship of all kinds of religions.
00:46:06.480 they just don't even know the basics of Christianity. And what that means is that
00:46:12.380 we really, I know I just got done praising bold pastors, and I've always praised bold pastors
00:46:17.000 because I'm so thankful for them, and it is such a hard job, way harder than the job of a podcaster.
00:46:22.440 But we need more. Like, we have a discipleship crisis here. We've got a bunch of people who
00:46:27.880 are clearly hungry for God's Word. They're clearly hungry for what Christianity offers,
00:46:32.560 and they don't even know the basics of the gospel.
00:46:36.140 So we need pastors who are not only preaching the truth from the pulpit.
00:46:39.560 That's absolutely true.
00:46:40.720 It's a trickle-down effect on the rest of the church, unapologetically, by the way.
00:46:44.280 Not just not saying false things, but saying true things about sin, about salvation.
00:46:51.100 And not only that, but all of the corollaries.
00:46:53.720 Speak into the culture.
00:46:55.040 You don't have to be a newscaster.
00:46:56.340 I'm not saying that.
00:46:57.020 You don't have to be a political, cultural commentator.
00:46:59.660 But as these issues come up in the Word of God, which you only have to get in 27 verses to the
00:47:04.420 entire Bible for them to come up, speak clearly into them. Don't beat around the bush. Don't be
00:47:08.840 afraid to offend people. Say what is true, because this is what I always say. But remember, pastors,
00:47:15.120 as all Christians, but especially pastors, you're not nicer than God. You're not nicer than Him.
00:47:20.060 You don't know better than Him. You can't out-love Him. You can't out-mercy Him. You can't
00:47:23.580 out-compassion him. If God says something is true, then the most loving thing you can do is say it
00:47:30.180 too. The most loving thing you can do is agree with God because God is love, 1 John 4, 8. And I
00:47:35.900 think the churches that are growing are the churches that are unapologetically preaching
00:47:39.780 the gospel, who are not afraid to say, hey, if you are not in Christ, you're going to hell. That's
00:47:44.200 the bad news. But here's the good news. The ones who are saying, hey, here's what God says about
00:47:50.000 abortion and gender and marriage and sexuality and all different forms of sin, not just talking
00:47:54.520 about the so-called culture wars, but who are willing to offend for the sake of the gospel and
00:47:59.320 for the sake of biblical truth and the sake of liberation from sin. It's not the mainline
00:48:03.860 Protestant churches that are growing, although there is an effort to kind of revitalize those
00:48:09.280 with the truth of the gospel, and I'm thankful for that. It's not the James Tallarico churches
00:48:13.440 that are growing. Those are dying because, of course, people would rather go to brunch
00:48:17.100 than sit through a boring service
00:48:19.680 hearing the same things they hear on MSNBC.
00:48:22.200 People go to church to hear what's true,
00:48:24.100 to hear something different
00:48:24.980 than they're hearing from the world.
00:48:26.680 We have a discipleship crisis.
00:48:28.780 We have, I think, a shepherding crisis.
00:48:31.100 That's not only pastors, but,
00:48:33.060 and I'm gonna challenge myself and all of us
00:48:34.980 who have been Christians for a while,
00:48:36.760 who are we discipling?
00:48:38.460 Who in our lives needs to be discipled?
00:48:40.520 Who in our lives needs to be mentored?
00:48:42.760 Is there someone who is hungry for the truth
00:48:44.980 that actually needs to be corrected?
00:48:47.100 And I know we're afraid of pushing that person away, if maybe they won't come to us, maybe
00:48:50.620 they don't want to be my friend, if I try to speak into their life, speak into the
00:48:55.000 behavior or the beliefs that they have.
00:48:57.440 But I promise that God has put those people in our lives to help advance the ball of their
00:49:04.240 sanctification.
00:49:04.960 I don't think God needs that, but he does choose that.
00:49:08.140 That's how the community of saints works.
00:49:11.180 And so I just want us to also take that responsibility as Christians to disciple those in our lives
00:49:16.440 with truth and not being afraid to correct in love. Very precious are the wounds of a friend,
00:49:23.120 the wounds of a brother, wounding for the purpose of love and healing, not just for the sake of
00:49:31.000 offense. We've got more on this in just a second. Let me pause and tell you about our last sponsor
00:49:34.940 for the day, and that is Good Ranchers. Good Ranchers is a meat company that's 100% committed
00:49:40.920 to America, not just in words, but in practice. Every single piece of meat that they have,
00:49:45.860 their seafood, their chicken, their steaks, their ground beef, all of it is from an American farmer
00:49:51.560 ranch. This industry is so important to the American economy. Unfortunately, 80% of the
00:49:57.660 craft beef in this country is imported from overseas. We don't even know what's going on
00:50:02.580 with those cows overseas, and yet we're buying it. And a lot of it has a sticker on there that
00:50:07.120 says made in America because that's what the policy is. You just have to be packaged in America
00:50:11.680 to get a sticker that says Made in America.
00:50:14.020 So if you want to know for sure where your meat comes from,
00:50:16.220 get your meat from Good Ranchers.
00:50:17.660 Shows up on dry ice to your front door every month
00:50:20.560 to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America.

00:50:34.900 now speaking of pastors barna also shows a promising trend for church attendance
00:50:44.260 they say for the first time in decades younger adults gen z and millennial i love that
00:50:49.340 millennials are still considered young adults they're millennials in their mid-40s not me
00:50:54.500 but there are millennials in their mid-40s but we're still considered young adults it's great
00:50:57.880 are now the most regular churchgoers outpacing older generations who once formed the backbone
00:51:03.280 zone of church attendance. Again, interesting. I think a lot of baby boomers, such a baby boomer
00:51:08.760 mentality, not the baby boomers I know, but baby boomers out there who just think that once you
00:51:15.280 retire from work, your life is basically done. And you don't have to keep working as hard
00:51:22.660 in your sanctification or just in your life in general. You don't have to be as involved. You
00:51:26.900 don't have to be as diligent as you used to be. And that's just not true. That's a waste.
00:51:32.240 Our life is but a mist, and every single part of it is supposed to be work for the glory
00:51:37.440 of God.
00:51:37.900 Not that we're never supposed to rest, but I don't think we biblically ever have a stage
00:51:41.820 in life where you're just supposed to check out.
00:51:44.180 Christian music has also experienced an uptick, with Christian artists being one of the fastest
00:51:48.760 growing sectors of music streaming in 2025.
00:51:51.940 That's according to the Washington Times.
00:51:54.080 Now, here's some not so good news.
00:51:55.940 And again, this goes to the responsibility of Christians.
00:51:59.420 there's a study by Family Research Council that found that the percentage of regular churchgoers
00:52:03.740 identifying as pro-life plummeted from 63% to 43% in 2005. That is so unfortunate.
00:52:14.260 And what happened there, I think, was just the propaganda war after the overturning of Roe v.
00:52:20.080 Wade, which happened in the summer of 2022. And it convinced so many people, I know people like
00:52:25.580 this, who are Christians who consider themselves pro-life, they bought into all of these lies that
00:52:30.260 these pro-life laws are causing women to die from miscarriages in emergency rooms. That's a lie.
00:52:37.660 It's not true. I can debunk every single story that you send me. If you send me someone who
00:52:42.700 tragically died because of a miscarriage or because of something that was going on in their
00:52:46.740 pregnancy, I can tell you exactly why the legislation in that state had nothing to do
00:52:52.020 with that person dying. And you even see these stories from places like California
00:52:55.600 of women dying. I'm like, what does that have to do with pro-life laws, which are non-existent
00:53:00.860 in the state of California? So much propaganda, but clearly the propaganda works. That's exactly
00:53:05.100 why I wrote Toxic Empathy. I saw that happening. And I really, really want to reverse that with
00:53:11.020 the truth. I mean, people, the Toxic Empathy manipulation tactic works so well with abortion
00:53:17.340 because you tell a really sad story of a mom in distress who didn't want to have an abortion.
00:53:24.500 She wanted this child and then she ended up losing her life or she ended up being forced
00:53:29.100 to have a child that died soon after birth.
00:53:31.600 And as women, as moms, that understandably pulls on our heartstrings.
00:53:35.580 And then it's presented in a way that if you just allowed women the choice in these extreme
00:53:39.820 situations, then you could relieve her pain.
00:53:42.620 And if you don't want to relieve her pain, it's because you're selfish.
00:53:45.460 It's because you're closed minded and bigoted.
00:53:47.340 And they never talk about the actual victim of that abortion and what happens in that abortion.
00:53:52.700 That's the baby, the baby who was poisoned and dismembered and injected with the same chemical
00:53:57.880 combination that is given to inmates on death row to be murdered, to stop their heart when they're
00:54:04.720 in the womb. Abortion is never the answer for a woman's problems ever, ever, ever. Delivery might
00:54:09.840 be, but abortion is not. Baby murder is not. And it's like one of the most obvious things that
00:54:16.600 people even professing christians tend to miss and that means that it's spiritual and so just
00:54:21.800 know if you're a christian woman that has been duped into being pro-choice like satan has a
00:54:25.780 hold of part of your mind and heart that's not me trying to condemn you that is just me telling you
00:54:31.000 the truth because i love you and i want you to stand on the right side of this very gospel
00:54:36.560 centric and very biblical issue that just goes to show again pastors you've got a responsibility
00:54:42.940 to speak out. Abortion is not nuanced. Abortion is not nuanced. Now, study after study does show
00:54:48.460 that white evangelicals are the most pro-life, are the most conservative on every issue. That's
00:54:53.740 just true. My Catholic friends get mad at me when I say that. And, you know, you can be the Catholic
00:54:59.540 church itself can be lauded for the consistency on that issue. But that consistency and the cohesion
00:55:05.760 of the actual like magisterium when it comes to abortion has not translated actually into the
00:55:12.160 majority of Catholics being pro-life. And so evangelicals, even with all of our disagreements
00:55:18.320 in Protestantism, we are much more cohesive on really every issue, but specifically when it
00:55:23.920 comes to abortion, like we are holding down the fort on these biblical positions, especially on
00:55:29.040 abortion. And really, like what makes the difference? This was interesting. This was in a
00:55:33.820 Barna study. What makes the difference in what Christians believe? Is there a theology? Of
00:55:40.800 course that should be obvious but unfortunately to a lot of people it's not people think that you can
00:55:45.540 be theologically solid and still be pro-abortion and you just can't so this is according to this
00:55:50.820 barna study and we'll put up this graphic this is full screen eight theology determines outcome
00:55:55.520 among churchgoers one variable predicted social positions more than any other so marriage gender
00:56:02.540 abortion things like that spiritually active and civically engaged 100 said the bible informs their
00:56:09.500 social positions. The most theologically grounded respondents active in church life,
00:56:14.880 engaged civically committed to their faith, least engaged spiritually and active and civically
00:56:19.800 engaged. 38% said the Bible informs their social positions. That was another thing in the Ligonier
00:56:26.940 study that I talked about, is that a huge percentage, I think a majority of professing
00:56:33.300 evangelicals think that the Bible should not inform their politics. We've got work to do.
00:56:39.940 We've got work to do. That's what this whole show, this whole episode is about. Okay,
00:56:44.200 Christians, we got work to do. We got work to do on Relatable. We, this community, are living in
00:56:50.180 a moment where we are very needed. We are very needed to be light in the darkness. We are needed
00:56:55.920 in the earthly sense. Of course, as I've said, God doesn't need us, but he is going to choose to use
00:57:01.560 us to bring clarity to confusion and chaos. And so speak up. Now is the time. Like we've got a
00:57:08.660 crisis of theology going on. We've also got a crisis of practice going on, orthodoxy and
00:57:15.400 orthopraxy. So pastors speak up, clergy speak up, Christians speak up. Now is the time to know what
00:57:22.040 God's word says and to live it out unapologetically. Relatable is made possible by our network home
