Summary

In this episode of Relatable, I discuss the hypocrisy of the left-wing media and how they spin the coronavirus story in order to make President Trump look worse than he actually is. I also discuss the role of the media in perpetuating the false narrative that Trump is incompetent.

00:00:00.000 Hey guys, welcome to Relatable. Happy Wednesday. I hope everyone has had a great week so far.
00:00:06.020 If you haven't listened to Toxic Mommy Culture from Monday, make sure you go back and do that.
00:00:10.320 I want to make sure you didn't miss it because a lot of you have been asking me to cover that
00:00:13.540 topic more thoroughly. I did. Got a lot of great feedback from those of you who did listen to it
00:00:18.720 or watch it on YouTube, so thank you so much for that. Today we are obviously switching gears,
00:00:24.040 as I assume you can deduce from the title of this episode, Enemy of the People. We are talking
00:00:30.860 about the media, how many, not all, maybe not even most, but many in the media, the left-wing media,
00:00:37.540 the anti-Trump media, whatever you want to call it, have spun a particular narrative in their coverage
00:00:44.040 of the coronavirus over the past few months and what damage that has done to our morale and our
00:00:52.360 ability to get accurate information. If you're like me, you feel like there is conflicting
00:00:58.680 information that's coming at us every day and so maybe you've just kind of bowed out and you've
00:01:03.640 said, okay, you know what? I can't deal with this anymore. Just tell me when this quarantine is over.
00:01:09.320 I don't want to scroll through Twitter. I don't want to hear about the coronavirus because nothing's
00:01:13.560 really changed and I can't figure out what is true. So what I'm going to try to do today
00:01:17.700 is I'm going to try to show you the prevailing narrative that many people in the media have
00:01:24.740 tried to push and the hypocrisy that it shows because it is absolutely insane if you look at
00:01:32.000 the timeline of the things that they've reported over the past few months. So on Monday, President
00:01:36.860 Trump had what I will call an epic press conference. I don't know if I've ever used that adjective in my
00:01:43.320 life, but I'm going to use it because I don't even know how else to describe it. It was an epic press
00:01:47.780 conference. The relationship between President Trump and the press has grown increasingly adversarial.
00:01:54.020 Like you probably didn't think that was possible after the whole Russian collusion thing and just
00:01:57.740 how ridiculous that was. I mean, you never hear about that anymore, do you? But it has. It's become
00:02:04.000 an even more fraught relationship, even more tension between them because in President Trump's defense,
00:02:10.660 yes, sometimes I think that he is a little bit too harsh and he's a little bit too petty with the
00:02:16.640 press. But in his defense, the narrative that they have crafted, the multiple narratives that they
00:02:22.000 have crafted around the coronavirus in order to try to make him look as bad as possible, it's
00:02:27.380 ridiculous. And I agree that it's bad for the country. And there are many people in the press who
00:02:32.840 put themselves at enmity with the American people by constantly criticizing President Trump when he
00:02:40.080 doesn't actually solicit criticism. There are times when he does deserve critiques, when he does
00:02:45.840 deserve criticism. I'm glad that there are honest and objective people in the press that are willing
00:02:51.020 to criticize and critique the powers that be. That is totally fair game. But when you constantly put
00:02:57.220 yourself on the side of being an adversary of President Trump, you are going to find yourself
00:03:03.620 in alliance with bad causes, with bad stories, with factless narratives, and even bad people and bad
00:03:11.060 countries like China. We've seen a lot of the media take the side of China and all of this in an effort
00:03:16.120 to try to make Trump look worse than he actually is. But that's the position that they've placed
00:03:21.380 themselves in. So on Monday in a press conference with the coronavirus task force, President Trump forced
00:03:28.200 the White House press corps to watch their own hypocrisy. He played a montage that basically
00:03:34.260 just demonstrated the narrative that they're trying to push of Trump being incompetent. And he put that
00:03:39.840 in contrast to what is actually going on, what his administration has actually done, what the
00:03:44.760 governors are saying who are actually in this coronavirus fight. And of course, the media had an absolute
00:03:50.820 fit over it. CNN, their chyrons read that Trump turned this into a propaganda hour, that he was
00:03:59.240 melting down, that he was angry, which just goes to show, again, how non-objective CNN is, even though
00:04:06.480 they tried their hardest to pretend like they're unbiased. So the supreme narrative of many people
00:04:12.000 on the left side of the aisle who are in the media, the anti-Trump media, whatever you want to call
00:04:18.940 them, the supreme overriding narrative goes like this. The coronavirus could have been prevented
00:04:24.040 and its effects mitigated if Trump had taken this more seriously and acted more quickly.
00:04:29.680 Therefore, every infection, every death, every bit of stress felt by healthcare workers is Trump's
00:04:36.140 fault. This is a supreme narrative, which means that every other story or potential story has to fit
00:04:42.040 into this framework. This is what so-called journalists today do, no matter what the story
00:04:48.100 is. They claim to be impartial. They claim to be objective. But what they actually do is they start
00:04:53.920 with a foregone conclusion and they find points, they find quotes, they find sources, they find facts
00:04:59.640 to fit into that conclusion. They come up with a conclusion and they try to build an argument around
00:05:05.360 that. And then they call it unbiased reporting. They say, no, no, no, no, I'm not political. I'm not
00:05:10.140 partisan. I'm just seeking the truth. Well, the fact is they are seeking a narrative. They're seeking a
00:05:15.600 foregone conclusion. Now that's fine. If you are an opinion host, if you are a pundit, if you're a
00:05:21.440 commentator, if you're paid to give your opinion like I am, I'm not a journalist. Now I try my best to
00:05:28.300 give you the whole truth. I don't manipulate. I don't lie to you. I try to give you caveats and nuance
00:05:33.040 where these things exist. I try to show you the other side of the argument, but you guys know my
00:05:37.840 perspective and I don't try to hide that. The overriding narrative of so-called objective
00:05:43.980 journalists adheres to this idea that this whole thing is Trump's fault. And that means that every
00:05:50.260 infection, that every death, especially that of young people and people without underlying health
00:05:55.280 conditions is Trump's fault. So every hospital hiccup, every complication is reported and hyperbolized
00:06:04.880 so as to attempt to point to Trump's incompetence. It means that the responsibility China has is often
00:06:13.020 ignored by the media or minimized. They'll even cast China in a positive light. And we'll talk a little
00:06:18.740 bit more about that in a second. It means that the media will deny their own culpability in downplaying
00:06:24.020 the virus, which they did in January and February. And we'll talk about that a little bit more. It means
00:06:29.620 they'll deny Democrats culpability in downplaying the virus like both Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi did.
00:06:35.540 It means they'll do whatever it takes to make Trump look bad, simultaneously saying that he's
00:06:41.080 acting too tyrannical and insisting that he is not acting tyrannical enough. It means that they will
00:06:47.000 ask stupid questions at press briefings to get a viral moment rather than focusing on the issues
00:06:52.820 that affect this viral disease. You guys probably saw the parody video that I post on Twitter and
00:07:00.180 Instagram and Facebook that was saturating some of the stupid questions that the press ask in these
00:07:07.000 press briefings. But it's really not that far from reality. Everyone is looking for their 15 minutes
00:07:14.880 of fame by asking something that really pegs Trump rather than asking the questions that are pertinent to
00:07:19.680 the American people. So let me show you how this supreme narrative of everything being Trump's
00:07:25.540 fault has played out in the media over the past few months. So the New York Times has an April 11th
00:07:30.940 piece titled, He Could Have Seen What Was Coming Behind Trump's Failures on the Virus. A quote says,
00:07:38.460 an examination reveals the president was warned about the potential for a pandemic, but that
00:07:44.040 internal divisions, lack of planning, and his faith in his own instincts led to a halting response.
00:07:51.060 The piece argues that Trump ignored advice from experts. He downplayed things. And if he had
00:07:55.780 taken earlier action, this would have all been avoided. This is the narrative of most of leftist
00:08:03.340 media that Trump has failed, that he hasn't taken it seriously. And he hasn't done things perfectly.
00:08:09.000 And again, I'm fine with criticism. But the fact is that Trump took action before the rest of the
00:08:14.380 country even thought that the coronavirus was a big deal. The task force was established on January
00:08:20.340 29th. He banned travel from China on January 31st. China reported its first death from coronavirus on
00:08:27.820 January 11th, which we now know there were people who died long before this from the coronavirus in
00:08:33.240 China, but we didn't know that then. Just weeks before that, the World Health Organization told the world
00:08:38.680 that there was no human-to-human transmission with coronavirus, only from bats to humans. We obviously
00:08:44.240 know that's not true. The World Health Organization, by the way, is a completely corrupt organization and
00:08:50.960 functions as a propaganda arm for China, but that's a story for a different day. This is from an article in
00:08:57.180 The Statesman by Miriam Valverde. She is quoting Samantha Kiernan, a research associate at the Council on
00:09:04.460 Foreign Relations. She says, while the United States was not one of the first countries to impose
00:09:09.480 restrictions against travel from China, nor was it late to do so relative to the actions of others.
00:09:15.840 Rather, the United States acted around the same time that many other countries did. Now, that said,
00:09:22.360 Trump did in the beginning, if you want to talk about him downplaying it, yes, he made the right moves
00:09:27.560 about the same time that other people did, but he did say that this was like the flu. He has been
00:09:32.220 dragged for that. There's a Vox.com article that's titled, Trump's seven worst statements about the
00:09:38.500 coronavirus outbreak, and one of them is Trump saying in February that the flu is worse. The
00:09:43.880 Washington Post ran an article about it titled, Trump again downplays coronavirus by comparing it
00:09:49.420 to the seasonal flu. It's not a fair comparison. Yes, they're right. Trump did say this, and it's wrong
00:09:56.500 because it is more infectious than the flu. It spreads more quickly than the flu, more easily.
00:10:01.980 You can be contagious and asymptomatic for longer than you are with the flu, but everyone thought
00:10:08.200 that this was like the flu, including the media, including the experts, and not as bad as the flu.
00:10:13.820 A lot of people said, here's a montage by the outlet-free beacon of the media, so CNN, MSNBC,
00:10:20.600 all of these outlets that are criticizing Trump for saying that, or for comparing it to the flu at all.
00:10:25.660 This was in January and even February. These outlets say that this isn't as bad as the flu.
00:10:32.300 People are like, you know, I think I have the flu. Could it be the coronavirus?
00:10:35.520 Overall, most people should not be terribly concerned about it. You definitely want to pay
00:10:38.760 attention. Should they panic? No, Americans do not need to panic. What I would suggest, however,
00:10:44.600 is that Americans take this as a wake-up call for seasonal flu. Flu is a much bigger deal.
00:10:51.100 There's an important context we need to keep this in, and that is that the flu is more deadly.
00:10:56.240 Maybe this is a good opportunity to remind people of that.
00:10:58.780 Such a good reminder.
00:10:59.800 And while there's a lot of fear over this coronavirus, you know, the flu is already
00:11:03.820 widespread in the U.S., and it really is much more deadly, is it not?
00:11:07.860 Coronavirus is not going to cause a major issue in the United States. We're going to have 40,000 to
00:11:11.280 60,000 deaths this year in the United States from the influenza, and it's preventable.
00:11:15.520 And there are only 12 confirmed cases of coronavirus here in the States.
00:11:18.960 The risk is low. The risk, however, for the flu is through the roof.
00:11:22.680 Health warning from doctors why they say people should be more worried about the flu
00:11:26.620 than the coronavirus.
00:11:28.080 Half of the people in America do not get a flu shot, and the flu right now is far deadlier.
00:11:32.740 So if you're freaked out at all about the coronavirus, you should be
00:11:35.320 more concerned about the flu.
00:11:37.740 On January 27th, Media Matters ran this article titled,
00:11:42.200 Fox News Fear Mongers About Coronavirus With Dubiously Sourced Viral Video.
00:11:47.540 It was about a segment on Fox & Friends where the host discussed a video online that said
00:11:52.660 that the death rate for the coronavirus was actually a lot higher than what was being reported.
00:11:57.040 And this is true, by the way. This has ended up being true.
00:11:59.720 U.S. intelligence has since confirmed that China is lying about their numbers,
00:12:04.020 that there are far more infected and far more dead in China than they have actually said.
00:12:09.700 On February 17th, USA Today posted an interview with Dr. Fauci,
00:12:14.240 director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
00:12:18.600 The article with the interview said this,
00:12:20.800 Fauci doesn't want people to worry about coronavirus,
00:12:24.560 the danger of which he says is, quote, just minuscule.
00:12:28.280 But he does want them to take precautions against the influenza outbreak,
00:12:33.360 which is having its second wave.
00:12:36.200 The New York Times ran an opinion piece titled,
00:12:39.100 Beware the Pandemic Panic by Farhad Manjou on January 29th.
00:12:43.240 In it, he says this, the new virus's death toll has just exceeded 130.
00:12:49.260 For context, according to the CDC,
00:12:51.820 about 15 million Americans have been sickened by the seasonal flu
00:12:55.340 so far in the 2019-2020 flu season, and 8,200 have died from it.
00:13:01.040 The flu kills between 300,000 and 650,000 people around the world annually.
00:13:06.300 That was in the New York Times at the end of January.
00:13:08.960 And then, on April 3rd, the New York Times published a video titled,
00:13:14.620 Is it like the flu?
00:13:15.860 Is it a major threat?
00:13:17.200 Trump's changing coronavirus message.
00:13:19.880 I don't know, New York Times, why don't you tell us if it's like the flu?
00:13:23.280 The New York Times ran another piece on February 5th titled,
00:13:26.620 Who says it's not safe to travel to China?
00:13:28.780 The byline says the coronavirus travel ban is unjust and doesn't work anyway.
00:13:34.880 Really?
00:13:35.900 It doesn't?
00:13:36.700 That's interesting.
00:13:37.520 Of course it helped.
00:13:38.560 Of course it did.
00:13:39.460 That's common sense.
00:13:40.740 And dozens of other countries did the same thing.
00:13:42.900 The New York Times White House correspondent, Maggie Haberman,
00:13:46.160 admitted that it worked, that it was probably effective.
00:13:48.860 In the New York Times podcast, The Daily,
00:13:50.920 she said at the end of the day, it was probably effective
00:13:54.360 because it did actually take a pretty aggressive measure against the spread of the virus.
00:13:59.760 Now, she does go on after that to criticize Trump for not doing more
00:14:04.240 and for thinking that banning travel was enough.
00:14:07.380 But she herself admits that the travel ban from China was an effective call.
00:14:13.260 But the New York Times and other outlets and Joe Biden labeled Trump a xenophobe,
00:14:18.100 not just for this, but also for calling it the Chinese virus or the Wuhan virus.
00:14:22.780 They said, that's racist, that's bigoted, that's counterproductive.
00:14:26.320 We don't need to be doing that.
00:14:27.800 That's going to cause a rampant racism in this country.
00:14:32.500 Well, here is a montage of outlets like CNN and MSNBC put together by town hall media
00:14:39.840 calling it the Wuhan virus or the Chinese Wuhan virus
00:14:43.240 before they decided they were going to push this narrative that Trump is a xenophobe
00:14:47.380 for calling it the Wuhan virus.
00:14:49.540 At least six people have died from the Wuhan coronavirus.
00:14:54.960 The Wuhan coronavirus has now surpassed the 2003 SARS outbreak and the number of lives it's claimed.
00:15:00.820 They're under quarantine out of concern that passengers and crew were exposed to the Wuhan coronavirus.
00:15:06.760 And this breaking news just into CNN.
00:15:08.780 The official death toll from the Wuhan coronavirus in China's Hubei province has now risen to 780.
00:15:15.620 Having to deal with it, the total number of deaths from the Wuhan coronavirus,
00:15:19.520 it's now surpassed the SARS outbreak from 2002, 2003.
00:15:24.580 Obviously, it is a Chinese virus.
00:15:26.780 And that is not against Chinese people.
00:15:28.760 We don't have, we shouldn't have anything against Chinese people.
00:15:31.740 This isn't their fault.
00:15:32.780 It is an indictment of the Chinese Communist Party,
00:15:36.160 who didn't do enough to mitigate this and to limit its effects,
00:15:40.600 not just in China, but around the world.
00:15:43.120 It originated in Wuhan, China.
00:15:45.680 And just like the West Nile virus, just like the Spanish flu,
00:15:48.980 just like Middle East Respiratory Syndrome,
00:15:51.640 the disease's origins can be acknowledged in its name without it actually being racist.
00:15:58.380 But this was the major concern of many left-wing outlets.
00:16:03.200 Because remember, their chief concern right now is making you hate Trump
00:16:08.260 so that you don't vote for him in November.
00:16:10.960 They likely care about people getting sick and dying.
00:16:14.460 Yes, of course, they're human beings.
00:16:16.100 They don't want to get sick and die.
00:16:17.220 They don't want their loved ones to get sick and die.
00:16:18.960 But people getting sick and dying is of little concern to much of their reporting
00:16:25.560 if they can't prove that people getting sick and dying is Trump's fault.
00:16:30.640 That's just the truth.
00:16:32.160 CNN ran an article on February 28th titled,
00:16:35.400 How Trump and his Fox News allies are infecting the public trust amid coronavirus concerns.
00:16:40.700 It was actually a video by CNN's Brian Stelter.
00:16:43.660 And here is Barack Obama in his endorsement, finally, of Joe Biden,
00:16:50.120 saying that Republicans denied the science of pandemics.
00:16:54.000 And denied the science of climate change, just as they denied the science of pandemics.
00:17:01.100 Nancy Pelosi, this was reported by New York Post, said this,
00:17:05.240 the more misrepresentations he, Trump, puts out there, the more it obscures the truth.
00:17:10.140 We have to insist upon the truth.
00:17:11.720 What they're saying is not knowledge, is not facts, is not real.
00:17:16.520 Well, here's Nancy Pelosi back in February telling people
00:17:20.600 that they should go into Chinatown in San Francisco.
00:17:23.820 You should come to Chinatown.
00:17:26.220 Precautions have been taken by our city.
00:17:29.020 We know that there is a concern about tourism traveling all throughout the world.
00:17:34.520 But we think it's very safe to be in Chinatown and hope that others will come.
00:17:39.540 So here's what's happening.
00:17:40.580 The media and Democrats are gaslighting you.
00:17:44.160 They are making you feel crazy for ever thinking or ever wondering if they didn't take this seriously.
00:17:50.000 They want you to believe, as a conservative, that you are the one that is peddling and consuming misinformation
00:17:55.940 from Fox News and the president, and that they, they have been exclusively the vigilant keepers of the truth all along.
00:18:04.200 If they had a sliver, just a sliver of integrity, they'd say,
00:18:07.780 look, we got it wrong, we downplayed it too, we didn't know, they can criticize and critique the president.
00:18:14.140 Again, I've said that, that's fine, that's fair game.
00:18:17.460 But to pretend like they have been getting it right since the beginning and the president hasn't is lunacy.
00:18:23.240 When in fact, the president took this seriously before they did and they criticized him for it.
00:18:28.400 I thought that this was going to be no big deal too.
00:18:31.460 I got that wrong.
00:18:32.500 And that's because that's what we were told.
00:18:35.120 We were told by the modelers, the messages that were relayed by the media and Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx,
00:18:41.940 and probably from them in good faith, that we are going to run out of beds.
00:18:46.660 This is going to be a nightmare that we don't have enough personnel.
00:18:49.520 We don't have enough equipment.
00:18:50.680 We don't have enough ventilators.
00:18:52.160 People are going to have to share ventilators.
00:18:54.520 And then the media switched their narrative, switched from this.
00:18:57.420 Okay, this isn't that big of a deal in January and February and right-wing media and Trump,
00:19:01.600 they're just fear-mongering.
00:19:02.540 They're just trying to scare you to March saying, oh, wow, this is a huge deal.
00:19:07.120 We've been saying this all along and Trump and Fox News have never been saying it.
00:19:10.920 We're the only ones that are going to prevent you and your family from dying.
00:19:16.720 But not everyone has died.
00:19:19.520 Not nearly as many people as they predicted were going to die have died.
00:19:24.220 Of course, it's still tragic when even just one person dies.
00:19:27.120 And I don't want anyone to get sick.
00:19:28.560 That's why my family and I have been socially distancing for over a month now
00:19:32.480 and have been taking all of the precautions that we possibly can
00:19:35.080 because we do believe in the seriousness of it.
00:19:37.480 But it hasn't been as bad as they projected.
00:19:39.700 And we thank the Lord for that.
00:19:41.120 Even in the epicenter of the disease in New York City,
00:19:43.980 they've had all of the ventilators and all of the beds that they've needed.
00:19:48.140 In other parts of the country, nurses and doctors or nurses at least are being laid off
00:19:52.340 because elective procedures have been canceled
00:19:55.420 to anticipate a surge that never came or hasn't come yet for these hospitals.
00:20:01.560 And so they don't need as many people, as many nurses as they thought they would.
00:20:06.600 And so people are getting laid off.
00:20:08.720 Cuomo himself, the governor of New York, said the Trump administration has been incredibly
00:20:13.080 accessible and incredibly helpful.
00:20:15.880 California's Governor Newsom said the Trump administration has shown effective leadership.
00:20:20.660 The media refused to give Trump credit and refused to accept responsibility for their own
00:20:25.800 mishaps.
00:20:26.540 But there are people who are actually in this fight, politicians who are actually in this
00:20:31.240 fight saying that Trump is actually being extremely helpful.
00:20:34.300 So all of this makes the media hypocrites if we didn't know that already.
00:20:38.140 Now, the media are trying to tell you as well that this anti-malaria drug, hydroxychloroquine,
00:20:44.320 that has been effective in possibly thousands of patients across the country and even around
00:20:48.580 the world and has been highlighted by Trump, is probably going to kill you.
00:20:53.420 This is their their next thing that they are trying to push to try to make Trump more culpable
00:20:59.020 for all of this craziness than he actually is.
00:21:02.080 The New York Times headline says small chloroquine chloroquine study halted over risk of fatal
00:21:08.880 heart complications.
00:21:09.920 CNN heart risk concerns mount around use of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19
00:21:16.900 treatment.
00:21:17.700 These two headlines are referencing a small study out of Brazil.
00:21:21.000 And OK, that might be worth noting.
00:21:23.600 But this drug has been around for decades and there is anecdotal evidence, at least,
00:21:28.580 that it works.
00:21:29.380 Not in everyone, maybe.
00:21:31.160 Not in every case, but it works.
00:21:33.220 And the media are focusing exclusively on the side effects.
00:21:37.080 That's not to say that they shouldn't report on the side effects, but they are focusing
00:21:41.060 exclusively on the side effects.
00:21:43.360 Every drug, every treatment, you guys know this, have side effects.
00:21:48.540 Have you ever listened to like the last 30 seconds of a prescription drug commercial that
00:21:55.260 lists all of the side effects?
00:21:56.960 Some of the side effects are even deadly.
00:21:59.340 Chemotherapy has side effects that can be deadly.
00:22:02.260 If the president said, hey, chemotherapy, I've seen it work in many cancer patients.
00:22:07.480 Would the media then write articles about only the side effects of chemotherapy, that it
00:22:12.140 may cause hair loss, nausea, and in some cases might be fatal?
00:22:16.780 NBC even surmised that maybe Trump has a financial stake in the use of the drug, which is a conjecture
00:22:22.560 that has since been debunked.
00:22:24.820 But hey, they ran with it anyway.
00:22:27.100 It's up to the doctors and the patients to decide what's best with this.
00:22:31.460 Trump isn't saying that people have to take this pill.
00:22:34.120 The doctors are going to decide that with their patients, like in all things, but the
00:22:38.200 media are pretending like Trump is actually going into these hospitals.
00:22:41.580 He's taking this medicine and he's putting it down the patient's throats and they're dying
00:22:45.980 from it.
00:22:46.420 That's not what's happening.
00:22:47.520 But again, he wants to make it morally reprehensible for you to vote for him in November.
00:22:55.840 So they are trying to pin blame on him however they possibly can.
00:23:00.060 That is also why they, and many Democrats, are pushing so hard for the economy to stay
00:23:07.420 locked down.
00:23:08.120 It's why they don't want there to be a cure or even a vaccine anytime soon.
00:23:13.000 They want to create as much pandemonium, as much outrage as possible.
00:23:17.140 They want to highlight Trump's failures and downplay his administration's successes so
00:23:21.640 that no one gets the hint that maybe he's doing an okay job.
00:23:25.420 A perfect job?
00:23:26.800 No.
00:23:27.460 Could we have been more prepared?
00:23:28.920 Yes.
00:23:29.660 Could we have been more efficient and effective with our testing process sooner?
00:23:34.300 Yes.
00:23:34.680 Could we do without Trump's incessant tweeting about ratings and what Fox News host he likes
00:23:40.360 or doesn't like?
00:23:41.240 Yes.
00:23:41.620 A thousand percent.
00:23:43.040 But the truth is, things are going better than expected.
00:23:46.140 There has not been a shortage of ventilators.
00:23:48.560 Hospitals have not been overrun.
00:23:50.520 Hospitals have actually been laying people off, like I said.
00:23:53.640 So it just hasn't been exactly what we expected.
00:23:56.860 The media cannot report on the United States' successes at all.
00:24:02.120 Instead, they write articles about how well China is doing.
00:24:04.780 This is the New York Times.
00:24:06.300 It's coronavirus cases dwindling.
00:24:08.520 China turns focus outward.
00:24:10.440 Beijing is mounting a humanitarian aid blitz in countries struggling with their own outbreaks.
00:24:15.320 In doing so, it's stepping into a role the West wants dominated and praised for totalitarian China.
00:24:20.860 Never mind that China lied about the seriousness of the disease, continued to lie about how many people have been infected,
00:24:27.520 how many people have died, claimed the disease originated in the United States and was released in China by the U.S. military,
00:24:34.520 welded their own people inside their homes so they couldn't leave,
00:24:38.200 even the needless, which resulted in the needless deaths of thousands of people.
00:24:43.940 Not to mention also that right now they are shutting down house churches.
00:24:48.520 They are violently persecuting Christians.
00:24:50.880 And as we speak, there are over a million Muslims that are in concentration camps in China.
00:24:56.220 Now, here's a headline from Monday in the Washington Post.
00:25:00.220 Africans in China allege racism as fear of new virus cases unleashes xenophobia.
00:25:06.980 See, it's even interesting in that Washington Post headline that they aren't actually accusing China of racism,
00:25:15.780 even though there's evidence of that.
00:25:17.820 They are saying Africans in China allege racism as fear of new virus cases unleash xenophobia.
00:25:24.180 The article goes on to say Africans living in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou say they have been evicted from their apartments
00:25:32.780 and refused entry to restaurants as part of a xenophobic campaign against black people
00:25:37.380 that is ostensibly aimed at curbing the transmission of the novel coronavirus.
00:25:42.480 So, yes, great humanitarian record there.
00:25:45.240 Glad you guys in the media are on their side.
00:25:48.100 Here is another huge change in the narrative from our beloved mainstream media on February 17th.
00:25:54.180 The Washington Post ran an article titled Tom Cotton Keeps Repeating a Coronavirus Conspiracy Theory That Was Already Debunked.
00:26:01.820 That's not an opinion piece that is in the political section of the Washington Post.
00:26:06.600 Here's what they said in that article.
00:26:08.180 Senator Tom Cotton, Republican from Arkansas, repeated a fringe theory suggesting that the ongoing spread of a coronavirus
00:26:15.100 is connected to research in the disease-ravaged epicenter of Wuhan, China.
00:26:20.700 Cotton referenced a laboratory in the city, the Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory,
00:26:25.660 in an interview on Fox News' Sunday Morning Futures.
00:26:28.860 He said the lab was near a market some scientists initially thought was a starting point for the virus' spread.
00:26:34.820 We don't know where it originated, and we have to get to the bottom of that, Cotton said.
00:26:38.440 We also know that just a few miles away from that food market is China's only biosafety level 4 superlaboratory
00:26:45.520 that researches human infectious diseases.
00:26:49.140 Now, recently, or just a couple days ago, there was another article in the Washington Post
00:26:57.600 that says in response to Cotton's remarks, as well as in previous interviews with the Washington Post,
00:27:04.920 numerous experts dismissed the possibility the coronavirus may be man-made.
00:27:09.660 But that's not what Senator Cotton said.
00:27:12.420 He didn't say it was man-made.
00:27:14.040 He did say it could have been a lab accident.
00:27:18.040 Now, yesterday, the Post published an article by Josh Rogan arguing that there is a big possibility
00:27:24.100 that the coronavirus is, in fact, a result of a lab accident in Wuhan.
00:27:28.140 So exactly what Senator Tom Cotton said, exactly what the Washington Post said is ridiculous,
00:27:33.460 scoffed at, and they said it's debunked.
00:27:35.880 Apparently, in 2018, U.S. officials in China warned about this lab and said it was not secure,
00:27:41.920 said that there was a possibility of some kind of leak of a virus like coronavirus
00:27:45.560 because of the lab's work with bats.
00:27:47.800 The article says the Chinese government, meanwhile,
00:27:50.360 has put a total lockdown on information related to the virus origins.
00:27:54.740 Beijing has yet to provide U.S. experts with samples of the novel coronavirus collected from
00:27:59.580 the earliest cases.
00:28:01.080 The Shanghai lab that published the novel coronavirus genome on January 11th
00:28:05.580 was quickly shut down by authorities for, quote, rectification.
00:28:10.460 Several of the doctors and journalists who reported on the spread early on have disappeared.
00:28:15.260 On February 14th, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for a new biosecurity law to be accelerated.
00:28:22.480 On Wednesday, CNN reported the Chinese government has placed severe restrictions requiring approval
00:28:27.700 before any research institution publishes anything on the origin of the novel coronavirus.
00:28:32.900 So that's probably fine.
00:28:34.740 Like, that probably checks out, right?
00:28:36.420 Definitely doesn't sound like it was in a lab or anything, that there was any kind of lab accident.
00:28:41.680 So I really look forward to the Washington Post and all of the media outlets that castigated
00:28:48.000 that made fun of Tom Cotton for suggesting that maybe it was a lab accident.
00:28:51.960 He didn't even say it was a bioweapon.
00:28:53.960 He said that's a possibility, which it is a possibility, but he said it could have originated
00:28:59.400 in this lab.
00:29:01.340 It could have been a lab accident.
00:29:02.860 It could have leaked in all of these Twitter blue check marks.
00:29:06.220 And of course, the Washington Post said this is totally debunked and dragged him through the mud.
00:29:10.320 So I look forward to all of these people apologizing to Tom Cotton now that we know that there is
00:29:15.500 for sure evidence that it probably did originate there.
00:29:19.180 All of this said, this is a very real disease.
00:29:23.280 It's obviously easily transmissible.
00:29:25.900 It is infecting a lot of people.
00:29:28.040 It's killing a lot of people.
00:29:29.960 I'm very thankful for everyone who has taken the personal responsibility
00:29:34.400 responsibility to stay at home and to socially distance and all of that.
00:29:39.980 And like I said, my family and I have been doing that and taking it very seriously.
00:29:45.060 But that does not mean that the media isn't leveraging this to try to hurt Donald Trump
00:29:52.460 and to try to paint everyone who questions the mainstream narrative in a bad and in a harmful light.
00:29:59.240 It's okay for us to say, yeah, socially distancing is a good idea.
00:30:03.220 I don't like what the media is doing.
00:30:05.060 Socially distancing is a good idea.
00:30:07.160 But I don't like that civil liberties are being suspended in all of this.
00:30:12.080 Just another reminder that the media is not on your side
00:30:15.740 and they do put themselves as an adversary to the American people.
00:30:19.020 So the Washington Post tweeted about a reverend or a pastor that claimed that God was bigger
00:30:32.200 than the coronavirus and they seemingly gleefully tweeted that he had died.
00:30:38.420 So the Washington Post tweeted this prominent Virginia pastor who said,
00:30:43.820 God is larger than this dreaded virus dies of COVID-19.
00:30:49.020 So obviously what they're trying to depict for you in that tweet is the irony in a person of faith,
00:30:58.000 someone who puts their faith in God dying.
00:31:00.380 That's what they're trying to demonstrate.
00:31:02.140 They're trying to, they've got a little tongue in cheek there.
00:31:04.840 They've got a little smirk as they're writing this tweet about this Virginia pastor dying.
00:31:10.080 You said that God is bigger than the coronavirus.
00:31:11.700 What they're trying to say is that, ha ha, he has been proved wrong.
00:31:15.980 And you people of faith who think that God is in control all of this, when you end up dying,
00:31:20.020 we're going to laugh at you too.
00:31:21.280 But they're so secular and stupid that they don't understand that this pastor dying of the coronavirus
00:31:28.320 doesn't actually undermine what he said.
00:31:31.220 It doesn't actually discount the fact that God is bigger than the coronavirus.
00:31:34.420 And if they had any scintilla of wisdom or biblical knowledge or theological savvy at all,
00:31:42.620 they would understand that someone dying of the coronavirus doesn't undermine their faith in God.
00:31:47.760 That we understand that people die every day.
00:31:49.960 People of faith die of cancer every day.
00:31:51.880 They die of all kinds of diseases and sicknesses and of natural disasters.
00:31:55.960 That doesn't mean that we think that God is not sovereign, that he's not good,
00:31:59.320 that he's not in control because for the Christian, dying isn't the worst thing that can happen to you.
00:32:04.400 We still believe, even if millions of people died from the coronavirus,
00:32:08.960 that doesn't mean that God isn't bigger than the coronavirus.
00:32:12.140 Of course he is.
00:32:13.440 Maybe you should listen to some of my podcasts, The Washington Post,
00:32:16.540 and you would understand a little bit about the sovereignty of God.
00:32:19.580 Instead of subtly laughing at the fact that a person of faith has died from the coronavirus,
00:32:25.620 maybe you could have just a shred, a shred of decency for just a second.
00:32:30.480 But unfortunately, there has been an uptick in persecution against Christians,
00:32:36.460 not just online, but also in person.
00:32:39.180 There was a church recently that they tried to gather for just a drive-in service,
00:32:44.100 and there were nails all over the parking lot and in the entrance to the church
00:32:48.020 because people apparently think that this is a good time to drive even more hate against people of faith.
00:32:54.620 Oh man, it's a crazy time that we're living in,
00:32:57.300 but I just wanted to make sure that you were updated on that.
00:32:59.840 We've been taking a break, trying to give you a little bit of a reprieve
00:33:03.720 from all of the crazy stuff that's been going on,
00:33:06.440 but I just wanted to, I just had to lay this all out there because it's driving me crazy.
00:33:11.320 Okay, I will see you guys back here on Friday.
