00:01:02.300I am announcing today that I will be stepping down from the positions of director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and chief of the NIAID Laboratory of Immunoregulation, as well as the position of chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden.
00:01:16.580I will be leaving these positions in December of this year to pursue the next chapter of my career.
00:01:22.640While I am moving on from my current positions, I'm not retiring.
00:01:29.120Of course, that's part of our problem.
00:01:32.140He says, thanks to the power of science and investments in research and innovation, the world has been able to fight deadly diseases and help save lives around the globe, except for the fact that Dr. Fauci has been wrong.
00:01:42.340And in very consequential ways, many times, whether it's AIDS or whether it is COVID, all of this has really gone to his head.
00:01:51.400He said recently, you probably saw this clip going around.
00:01:54.340I don't think we ended up playing it on my show, but where he said people are now going into medicine.
00:01:59.100They're going into science because of him, because he represents truth and integrity.
00:02:04.440He also said in a congressional hearing a few months ago that people who oppose him don't oppose him as a person, Anthony Fauci, but actually oppose science.
00:02:14.520And so it shouldn't surprise us that he has kind of taken on this godlike character that typically happens to lifelong bureaucrats who have been rewarded for being wrong as often as he has.
00:02:27.940I think it's good for the country that he is stepping down.
00:02:30.560Of course, he's just going to make some other move where he still is making these kinds of decisions on behalf of Americans, unfortunately.
00:02:38.740But at least he won't be chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden.
00:02:42.000The question is, of course, who will be the next one?
00:02:45.140Probably not going to be any better than Dr. Fauci.
00:02:50.320Some people are saying the reason that he's doing this now is because he knows Republicans are going to take the majority in Congress this November.
00:02:56.960And so he doesn't want them to hold him accountable for the mistakes that he has made.
00:03:03.040Now, we have chronicled the mistakes of Dr. Fauci many times.
00:03:06.720You can go back and listen to some of the COVID episodes.
00:03:09.520The one with Brett Weinstein was probably the best, just kind of outlining the failures.
00:03:19.280Definitely go back, listen to those episodes, and you'll know what I'm talking about when I'm talking about Dr. Fauci's corruption.
00:03:25.960Corruption in some ways, but also his incompetence in other ways.
00:03:30.960So is this a way for him to skirt responsibility and accountability for the failures that that have kind of marked his career over the past two years?
00:04:07.120And I will fill you in on what a lot of conservatives and liberals are kind of arguing about.
00:04:11.760If you don't know who Sam Harris is, he is a neuroscientist, a philosopher, an author.
00:04:17.980He is a part of what was dubbed a few years ago, the intellectual dark web.
00:04:23.880I think it was a New York Times article just about kind of like heterodox thinkers, people who are conservative and liberal and are maybe in some ways centrist.
00:04:36.680It depends on which character of the intellectual dark web you are talking about.
00:04:42.140And Sam Harris has kind of been seen as a reasonable liberal, a reasonable atheist who is not completely woke and has kind of critiqued some of wokeness.
00:04:51.260And so some conservatives have seen him as an ally.
00:04:54.000You can imagine many of their shock and disgust when he said on a podcast called the Triggernometry podcast that he would not have cared.
00:05:06.040He said he would not have cared if the New York Post had found out that Hunter Biden had the corpses of children in his basement when it came to him deciding whether or not he was going to,
00:05:21.240vote for Joe Biden, he said that it did not matter.
00:05:25.120He also said that he pretty much agreed with the decision of Twitter to try to censor the New York Post article.
00:05:33.800You'll remember when that happened right before the election.
00:05:36.720The New York Post came out with all these incriminating details about Hunter Biden's life and his laptop and the different material that was found on his laptop.
00:05:45.560And Twitter decided to suspend the New York Post account because of this factual story.
00:05:54.040Well, Sam Harris, he wanted so badly for Joe Biden to win that he really didn't care whether or not that story was free to circulate.
00:06:02.100And he went even further to say that he does not care at all about the corruption of Hunter Biden.
00:06:08.240Maybe there's a case to be made that you shouldn't try to lay responsibility for the sins and the mistakes and the problems of someone's son on the father's feet.
00:06:18.540But because the corruption and the business workings of Hunter Biden are inextricably intertwined, interconnected with Joe Biden, I think that that is extremely pertinent.
00:06:30.260I mean, the question is, of course, how much does and did Joe Biden know?
00:06:34.420I mean, when we're talking about Burisma and all of that.
00:06:36.720So a lot of people were understandably angry about Sam Harris's comments.
00:06:48.860I am very skeptical of the whole, quote unquote, like reasonable liberal crowd.
00:06:53.660Not that I don't think that they make good points and that we can't link arms on some things because I absolutely think that we can.
00:06:59.360But at the end of the day, I understand that a lot of them hate conservative Christianity just as much as, if not more than, they say that they hate, you know, left wing wokeism.
00:07:09.900They really think that they can just take America back to 1995 and we'll all be well and good.
00:07:16.140And I just I don't think that that's a worthy goal.
00:07:18.580And I also see their underlying resentment for people like me.
00:07:22.920So I didn't feel betrayed because I kind of see these people for what they are.
00:07:27.420At the end of the day, they are going to pick the left wing option.
00:07:31.940But what he said that I want to respond to, because whatever, don't really care about that.
00:07:36.100That's a ridiculous thing to say, but I want to respond to his comments on heaven.
00:07:42.100As I said, he is an atheist and he asks on this Triggernometry podcast that, you know, where is heaven exactly?
00:07:54.260Like, I'm not going to make magical claims about flying saviors who are literally going to come down from where is heaven exactly, given that we have, you know, multiple telescopes up there, you know, beaming back, you know, tens of billions of years worth of information.
00:08:15.540So some people are saying that he was being tongue in cheek there.
00:08:28.160I think he was earnestly saying that heaven probably doesn't exist or heaven doesn't exist, of course, in his belief system because we haven't seen it.
00:08:41.820And so how can you possibly how can you possibly believe that Jesus, the Savior, is going to come down from heaven when we have never seen it?
00:08:51.140Here's the thing about a lot of atheists.
00:08:53.220And I'm not saying atheists in general, but many atheists, they think that they have thought harder about Christianity than all Christians have.
00:09:01.660They think that every Christian or every religious person, but specifically, it seems like their sights are set on Christianity when it comes to debunking it.
00:09:11.640And demeaning it, deriding it, and they believe there have been no Christian scholars who have truly wrestled with the creation, with the creation of the universe, or with apologetics, or with the resurrection, or any of these very difficult aspects of Christianity.
00:09:31.060They think that they are the first ones to ask questions, that all of us are just accepting everything we hear without using our minds to kind of wrestle with them and work through them and come to logical and theological conclusions about them.
00:09:49.940And so he probably thought that he was making a very, a very good point here.
00:09:56.260And I joked on Twitter, I said, wow, I watched this clip.
00:10:13.440And even if they, a lot of them often, they'll say that they were raised in the church.
00:10:17.400Many times it's the Catholic church, but sometimes it's the evangelical church as well, Pentecostal.
00:10:22.960And they'll think that their experience gives them all of this expertise.
00:10:26.680And because they've been in it and now they've come out, they think that they know more and have more authority than those who are still in it.
00:10:35.260So they don't actually think that they need to have the same knowledge and the same theological expertise as Christian theologians do, for example.
00:10:45.940And if Sam Harris did know scripture, if he did know anything about basic Christian theology, he would know that this is not a good argument to make.
00:10:55.940This is not a very smart argument to make.
00:11:12.180Yet among the mature, we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age who are doomed to pass away.
00:11:21.760But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory.
00:11:29.160None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
00:11:35.180But as it is written, what no eye has seen, what no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.
00:11:50.000These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit, to us Christians.
00:11:54.120For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.
00:11:56.920For who knows a person's thoughts except for the Spirit of that person which is in him?
00:12:00.620So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
00:12:04.240Now we have received not the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God.
00:12:08.760So the only people who can fully understand the things of God are the people who have his Spirit.
00:12:13.000This is Ali's commentary and who are Christians.
00:12:16.520This passage goes on to say that we might understand the things freely given us by God.
00:12:21.880And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom, but taught by the Spirit.
00:12:26.540Interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.
00:12:28.980The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him.
00:12:34.240And he is not able to understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
00:12:39.180The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.
00:12:44.480For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?
00:12:47.640But we, Christians, have the mind of Christ.
