00:00:00.260 Atheist Sam Harris debunks Christianity by pointing out that we've never seen heaven with a telescope.
00:00:07.880 Women who joke flippantly about their abortions reveal an uncomfortable fact.
00:00:12.360 Not all women who get abortions are victims.
00:00:15.620 Dr. Fauci steps down as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
00:00:20.740 We will talk about all of this and more.
00:00:22.380 I've got plenty of fiery takes for you today.
00:00:24.860 This episode, as always, is brought to you by our friends at Good Ranchers.
00:00:28.580 Go to GoodRanchers.com slash Allie.
00:00:31.420 That's GoodRanchers.com slash Allie.
00:00:43.620 Hey guys, welcome to Relatable.
00:00:45.640 Happy Monday.
00:00:47.000 Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
00:00:49.520 All right.
00:00:49.900 First, let me touch on this Dr. Fauci story.
00:00:52.000 I just heard about it a couple minutes ago.
00:00:54.320 As I'm recording this, there's not a whole lot of reporting on it.
00:00:57.700 He released a statement this morning, so I'll read some of that now.
00:01:02.020 He says,
00:01:02.300 I am announcing today that I will be stepping down from the positions of director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and chief of the NIAID Laboratory of Immunoregulation, as well as the position of chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden.
00:01:16.580 I will be leaving these positions in December of this year to pursue the next chapter of my career.
00:01:22.640 While I am moving on from my current positions, I'm not retiring.
00:01:26.700 He's been in government for 50 years.
00:01:29.120 Of course, that's part of our problem.
00:01:32.140 He says, thanks to the power of science and investments in research and innovation, the world has been able to fight deadly diseases and help save lives around the globe, except for the fact that Dr. Fauci has been wrong.
00:01:42.340 And in very consequential ways, many times, whether it's AIDS or whether it is COVID, all of this has really gone to his head.
00:01:51.400 He said recently, you probably saw this clip going around.
00:01:54.340 I don't think we ended up playing it on my show, but where he said people are now going into medicine.
00:01:59.100 They're going into science because of him, because he represents truth and integrity.
00:02:04.440 He also said in a congressional hearing a few months ago that people who oppose him don't oppose him as a person, Anthony Fauci, but actually oppose science.
00:02:14.520 And so it shouldn't surprise us that he has kind of taken on this godlike character that typically happens to lifelong bureaucrats who have been rewarded for being wrong as often as he has.
00:02:27.940 I think it's good for the country that he is stepping down.
00:02:30.560 Of course, he's just going to make some other move where he still is making these kinds of decisions on behalf of Americans, unfortunately.
00:02:38.740 But at least he won't be chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden.
00:02:42.000 The question is, of course, who will be the next one?
00:02:45.140 Probably not going to be any better than Dr. Fauci.
00:02:50.320 Some people are saying the reason that he's doing this now is because he knows Republicans are going to take the majority in Congress this November.
00:02:56.960 And so he doesn't want them to hold him accountable for the mistakes that he has made.
00:03:03.040 Now, we have chronicled the mistakes of Dr. Fauci many times.
00:03:06.720 You can go back and listen to some of the COVID episodes.
00:03:09.520 The one with Brett Weinstein was probably the best, just kind of outlining the failures.
00:03:14.920 Also, Scott Atlas as well.
00:03:17.700 Dr. Bhattacharya.
00:03:19.280 Definitely go back, listen to those episodes, and you'll know what I'm talking about when I'm talking about Dr. Fauci's corruption.
00:03:25.960 Corruption in some ways, but also his incompetence in other ways.
00:03:30.960 So is this a way for him to skirt responsibility and accountability for the failures that that have kind of marked his career over the past two years?
00:03:40.740 I'm not sure.
00:03:41.920 And if it is his kind of escape route, I don't know if that's going to work.
00:03:46.680 We'll see about that.
00:03:48.240 But I guess we'll just take it as we can that this is, at least for now, pretty good news.
00:03:55.300 All right.
00:03:56.260 Now, I want to talk about this Sam Harris clip that if you are on Twitter, you have probably seen circulating.
00:04:02.980 If you're not on Twitter, God bless you.
00:04:05.820 That's a good thing.
00:04:07.120 And I will fill you in on what a lot of conservatives and liberals are kind of arguing about.
00:04:11.760 If you don't know who Sam Harris is, he is a neuroscientist, a philosopher, an author.
00:04:17.980 He is a part of what was dubbed a few years ago, the intellectual dark web.
00:04:23.880 I think it was a New York Times article just about kind of like heterodox thinkers, people who are conservative and liberal and are maybe in some ways centrist.
00:04:36.680 It depends on which character of the intellectual dark web you are talking about.
00:04:42.140 And Sam Harris has kind of been seen as a reasonable liberal, a reasonable atheist who is not completely woke and has kind of critiqued some of wokeness.
00:04:51.260 And so some conservatives have seen him as an ally.
00:04:54.000 You can imagine many of their shock and disgust when he said on a podcast called the Triggernometry podcast that he would not have cared.
00:05:06.040 He said he would not have cared if the New York Post had found out that Hunter Biden had the corpses of children in his basement when it came to him deciding whether or not he was going to,
00:05:21.240 vote for Joe Biden, he said that it did not matter.
00:05:25.120 He also said that he pretty much agreed with the decision of Twitter to try to censor the New York Post article.
00:05:33.800 You'll remember when that happened right before the election.
00:05:36.720 The New York Post came out with all these incriminating details about Hunter Biden's life and his laptop and the different material that was found on his laptop.
00:05:45.560 And Twitter decided to suspend the New York Post account because of this factual story.
00:05:54.040 Well, Sam Harris, he wanted so badly for Joe Biden to win that he really didn't care whether or not that story was free to circulate.
00:06:02.100 And he went even further to say that he does not care at all about the corruption of Hunter Biden.
00:06:08.240 Maybe there's a case to be made that you shouldn't try to lay responsibility for the sins and the mistakes and the problems of someone's son on the father's feet.
00:06:18.540 But because the corruption and the business workings of Hunter Biden are inextricably intertwined, interconnected with Joe Biden, I think that that is extremely pertinent.
00:06:30.260 I mean, the question is, of course, how much does and did Joe Biden know?
00:06:34.420 I mean, when we're talking about Burisma and all of that.
00:06:36.720 So a lot of people were understandably angry about Sam Harris's comments.
00:06:42.020 Now, I've never followed Sam Harris.
00:06:44.140 I'm not like some huge fan of him.
00:06:46.280 So I didn't feel betrayed in any way.
00:06:48.860 I am very skeptical of the whole, quote unquote, like reasonable liberal crowd.
00:06:53.660 Not that I don't think that they make good points and that we can't link arms on some things because I absolutely think that we can.
00:06:59.360 But at the end of the day, I understand that a lot of them hate conservative Christianity just as much as, if not more than, they say that they hate, you know, left wing wokeism.
00:07:09.900 They really think that they can just take America back to 1995 and we'll all be well and good.
00:07:16.140 And I just I don't think that that's a worthy goal.
00:07:18.580 And I also see their underlying resentment for people like me.
00:07:22.920 So I didn't feel betrayed because I kind of see these people for what they are.
00:07:27.420 At the end of the day, they are going to pick the left wing option.
00:07:31.940 But what he said that I want to respond to, because whatever, don't really care about that.
00:07:36.100 That's a ridiculous thing to say, but I want to respond to his comments on heaven.
00:07:42.100 As I said, he is an atheist and he asks on this Triggernometry podcast that, you know, where is heaven exactly?
00:07:50.820 I mean, we've never seen it.
00:07:52.300 So here is a clip of him saying that.
00:07:54.260 Like, I'm not going to make magical claims about flying saviors who are literally going to come down from where is heaven exactly, given that we have, you know, multiple telescopes up there, you know, beaming back, you know, tens of billions of years worth of information.
00:08:15.540 So some people are saying that he was being tongue in cheek there.
00:08:19.860 I really do not think that he was.
00:08:22.040 And given the context of the entire conversation, I don't think that he was being sarcastic.
00:08:26.760 I don't think he was making a joke.
00:08:28.160 I think he was earnestly saying that heaven probably doesn't exist or heaven doesn't exist, of course, in his belief system because we haven't seen it.
00:08:35.200 Look, we have powerful telescopes.
00:08:36.700 We've been able to see light years away.
00:08:39.220 We've been able to look in galaxies.
00:08:40.580 We've never seen this heaven.
00:08:41.820 And so how can you possibly how can you possibly believe that Jesus, the Savior, is going to come down from heaven when we have never seen it?
00:08:51.140 Here's the thing about a lot of atheists.
00:08:53.220 And I'm not saying atheists in general, but many atheists, they think that they have thought harder about Christianity than all Christians have.
00:09:01.660 They think that every Christian or every religious person, but specifically, it seems like their sights are set on Christianity when it comes to debunking it.
00:09:11.640 And demeaning it, deriding it, and they believe there have been no Christian scholars who have truly wrestled with the creation, with the creation of the universe, or with apologetics, or with the resurrection, or any of these very difficult aspects of Christianity.
00:09:31.060 They think that they are the first ones to ask questions, that all of us are just accepting everything we hear without using our minds to kind of wrestle with them and work through them and come to logical and theological conclusions about them.
00:09:49.940 And so he probably thought that he was making a very, a very good point here.
00:09:56.260 And I joked on Twitter, I said, wow, I watched this clip.
00:09:59.080 I'm no longer a Christian.
00:10:00.900 You have completely obliterated my worldview as Sam Harris.
00:10:05.320 The thing is, most atheists who think that they know everything about Christianity don't know anything about Christianity.
00:10:10.920 They haven't read the Bible.
00:10:12.020 They've heard things secondhand.
00:10:13.440 And even if they, a lot of them often, they'll say that they were raised in the church.
00:10:17.400 Many times it's the Catholic church, but sometimes it's the evangelical church as well, Pentecostal.
00:10:22.960 And they'll think that their experience gives them all of this expertise.
00:10:26.680 And because they've been in it and now they've come out, they think that they know more and have more authority than those who are still in it.
00:10:35.260 So they don't actually think that they need to have the same knowledge and the same theological expertise as Christian theologians do, for example.
00:10:45.940 And if Sam Harris did know scripture, if he did know anything about basic Christian theology, he would know that this is not a good argument to make.
00:10:55.940 This is not a very smart argument to make.
00:11:08.600 1 Corinthians 2, 6 through 16.
00:11:12.180 Yet among the mature, we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age who are doomed to pass away.
00:11:21.760 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory.
00:11:29.160 None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
00:11:35.180 But as it is written, what no eye has seen, what no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.
00:11:50.000 These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit, to us Christians.
00:11:54.120 For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.
00:11:56.920 For who knows a person's thoughts except for the Spirit of that person which is in him?
00:12:00.620 So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
00:12:04.240 Now we have received not the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God.
00:12:08.760 So the only people who can fully understand the things of God are the people who have his Spirit.
00:12:13.000 This is Ali's commentary and who are Christians.
00:12:16.520 This passage goes on to say that we might understand the things freely given us by God.
00:12:21.880 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom, but taught by the Spirit.
00:12:26.540 Interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.
00:12:28.980 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him.
00:12:34.240 And he is not able to understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
00:12:39.180 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.
00:12:44.480 For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?
00:12:47.640 But we, Christians, have the mind of Christ.
00:12:51.240 So multiple parts there.
00:12:52.700 And really, the whole first chapter of 1 Corinthians,
00:12:56.500 I really love the segments where it talks about, where it asks the rhetorical question,
00:13:02.400 like, where is the scribe?
00:13:04.060 Where is the wise one?
00:13:05.580 Where are the rulers?
00:13:06.680 Where are the ones who supposedly are the discerning philosophers among us who can try to debunk the
00:13:12.900 things of God?
00:13:13.640 Look, these people have a worldly spirit.
00:13:15.420 They are not going to be able to understand the things of God.
00:13:17.680 So that is why, ultimately, spiritually, Sam Harris says the things that he does,
00:13:22.540 but he also doesn't understand that there is another dimension in which heaven exists.
00:13:28.500 What no eye has seen, nor ear has heard, nor the heart of man even imagined,
00:13:32.140 what God has prepared for those who love him in eternity.
00:13:34.720 So, of course, the human eye cannot see it.
00:13:37.720 John 1, 18.
00:13:39.980 No one has ever seen God, the only God, who was at the Father's side.
00:13:43.880 He has made him known, 1 John 4, 12 through 13.
00:13:47.700 No one has ever seen God.
00:13:49.220 If we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
00:13:52.720 But we know that we abide in him and he in us because he has given us of his spirit.
00:13:57.240 So, again, that Holy Spirit is necessary to understand who God is, where he is,
00:14:04.000 the things of God that are just not discernible,
00:14:06.520 even by the smartest and the wisest people of this age.
00:14:10.600 Sam Harris, I'm sure, is a very smart person.
00:14:14.660 I'm sure he is a very intellectual person.
00:14:16.500 I certainly don't think that he's dumb.
00:14:18.480 Maybe he does even know some of Christian theology to the point to where he feels like
00:14:24.240 he can debate it.
00:14:25.740 I am sure that he is a thoughtful person.
00:14:27.920 But at the end of the day, he lives within the spirit of the age.
00:14:31.960 He is dictated by the world.
00:14:33.560 And God ultimately, as it also says in 1 Corinthians, shames the wisdom of the wise
00:14:40.680 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.
00:14:43.860 So the wisdom of the world, the wisdom of the world is foolishness to God.
00:14:50.040 And the foolishness that the world sees as the gospel of Christ is wiser than any form
00:14:57.360 of worldly wisdom.
00:14:58.480 So that's the reality.
00:14:59.540 That's what I thought of when I saw this Sam Harris clip.
00:15:03.380 A lot of people were dunking on him, myself included, kind of being sarcastic and making
00:15:07.280 jokes about this.
00:15:08.140 At the end of the day, I hope that he repents.
00:15:10.140 I hope that he is one day filled with the spirit of God, that he becomes a new creation,
00:15:15.220 that he understands the things of the Lord, that he understands and accepts the gospel of
00:15:21.280 Christ.
00:15:21.640 I pray that God would soften his heart in that and that he would be able to attain through
00:15:26.560 the fear of the Lord, true wisdom.
00:15:28.400 That's what I want for Sam Harris.
00:15:29.880 That's what I want for all people who don't believe and who don't know.
00:15:33.120 But also, I want a little bit of humility from people who are critics of Christianity
00:15:37.260 to understand that, look, a lot of us have thought about all of the things that you think
00:15:42.220 that you think are novel, you think are new questions.
00:15:46.180 There are thousands and thousands of years of Christian theologians wrestling with the
00:15:50.560 very questions that you are bringing up today.
00:15:53.200 So if you truly have questions about these things, like if you truly want to know what
00:15:57.620 the Christian answer is for some of the objections that you have, look back throughout history.
00:16:01.960 There are many theologians who have probably addressed the questions that you have.
00:16:07.020 All right.
00:16:07.680 More internet craziness that I saw over the weekend.
00:16:10.340 There was a tweet that went viral, over 260,000 likes when I saw it, almost 20,000 retweets.
00:16:17.800 And someone tweeted, when my friend went to get an abortion and they made her do an ultrasound
00:16:23.220 beforehand.
00:16:23.900 So she posted this on her Snap story.
00:16:26.980 And it's a picture of a sonogram.
00:16:29.260 The baby, based on my experience, I would guess is probably nine to 10 weeks.
00:16:34.280 And then the caption on Snapchat in the picture says, hmm, not feeling her.
00:16:39.000 And now if you're not totally familiar with like Gen Z language, she's not saying not physically
00:16:44.080 feeling her.
00:16:44.760 She means like, ooh, not feeling that, like that doesn't have good vibes.
00:16:49.760 And this actually turns out to be not real.
00:16:53.940 This person got a sonogram picture from a blog post from a random website from back in 2017.
00:17:02.260 And so she's making a joke about it.
00:17:03.840 She's being flippant about it.
00:17:05.100 But the replies under the tweet are some of the worst things that I've ever seen.
00:17:10.340 And joking about having an abortion, joking about getting rid of the child.
00:17:15.300 Someone told this story, said, reminds me of when a girl on here got a necklace with
00:17:19.240 the giant letters aborted after going through that experience.
00:17:22.800 Then some lady commented, you should be ashamed because many women like myself can't have kids
00:17:27.940 and told her.
00:17:29.220 And then the girl who got an abortion told her, maybe you should get a necklace that says
00:17:32.040 infertile.
00:17:32.900 I don't know.
00:17:33.500 So just very heartless and calloused replies.
00:17:37.560 I've seen tweets like this before, just threads of people making fun of getting rid of an unborn
00:17:45.880 child, killing that life.
00:17:48.720 And then I've noticed also over the past couple of years that there is a trend on TikTok of
00:17:55.180 young girls videoing themselves going to Planned Parenthood or after their abortion and just
00:18:03.120 kind of laughing about it and even celebrating it.
00:18:06.360 So here are three quick examples of that happening on TikTok.
00:18:10.280 On this perfect day, nothing's standing in my way.
00:18:19.820 One, two, three, let's go!
00:18:25.180 All right, so I know that if you're just listening to this, then that might not make a lot of
00:18:30.560 sense to you.
00:18:31.200 Those are three different examples of girls chronicling their experience with abortion,
00:18:37.300 laughing about it, thinking it's funny.
00:18:38.740 And these videos have thousands of views, hundreds of thousands of views, thousands of likes,
00:18:45.300 a lot of people applauding it, saying that it's hilarious, of course, saying that these
00:18:49.960 babies are just clumps of cells.
00:18:52.100 One of the girls on there said, oh, just dropped my baby off at daycare.
00:18:57.780 She was entering into Planned Parenthood.
00:19:01.320 The other one was like, here's my baby on January 8th, 2016.
00:19:07.560 And then it's just a picture of nothing.
00:19:10.040 So the baby disappeared.
00:19:11.640 And the other one is a girl who pretends like she's doing a gender reveal and says it's,
00:19:18.020 and then she pulls up a sign that says, boarded, rather than a boy or a girl.
00:19:24.080 So the tweet might have been a joke, but the replies underneath it and the trend that it
00:19:30.340 represents, a flippantly joking about abortion, is not a joke.
00:19:34.360 It's real.
00:19:34.960 It speaks to a real state of people's heart.
00:19:36.900 And then I also saw this video that was posted by Libs of TikTok.
00:19:42.340 This is two women, two podcasters talking about an abortion fetish, making an only fan for
00:19:49.080 abortions because some people are into that.
00:19:51.560 And I'm just going to warn you, just going to warn you, this is extremely graphic.
00:19:57.780 Would not listen to this around your kids.
00:20:01.400 But I think it's really important for us to at least just briefly look at what the evil
00:20:09.380 is behind abortion, what the spirit is underneath the abortion movement.
00:20:16.460 So here it is.
00:20:17.720 I stayed awake.
00:20:18.400 I wanted the whole experience of it.
00:20:19.760 I'm like, I want to look into your face when you're sucking that out of my body.
00:20:23.520 That's kind of hot.
00:20:24.680 Why is that hot?
00:20:25.920 Well, I'm like up in fricking stirrups and I'm just like 21 and just like, wait a minute.
00:20:33.140 Does abortion spa also have an OnlyFans?
00:20:35.100 OnlyFans abortions to help women pay for their abortions.
00:20:38.500 If people are into that, there's a fetish for that.
00:20:40.320 So I understand that was really, really disturbing.
00:20:42.960 And that probably, I mean, hurts your heart and makes you want to cry.
00:20:47.200 And it's just a gut punch.
00:20:49.340 And I know, and I really hesitated even playing it at all.
00:20:52.140 But I just want us to be able to stare in the face, even just briefly, the evil that exists
00:20:58.520 on the pro-abortion side.
00:21:01.780 I mean, that is the spirit that is fueling it.
00:21:04.900 I'm not saying that everyone who considers themselves pro-choice believes the same things
00:21:09.640 and would use that language.
00:21:10.700 That's not what I'm saying.
00:21:11.920 But that is one of the most like naked views of the underlying spirit and motivation behind
00:21:21.280 the side that is pro-legalized baby murder.
00:21:24.780 And you know what has really begun to bother me about our rhetoric as pro-lifers?
00:21:31.740 Like when we look at things like that, it becomes really obvious kind of just how off we've been
00:21:37.320 and some of the things that we say, that when we talk about abortion, we talk about the women
00:21:42.460 who get abortion as if they are all victims.
00:21:45.920 We just assume that they are.
00:21:47.160 We almost talk about them like they're children, like totally ignorant, without any agency or
00:21:52.340 ability to make decisions.
00:21:54.180 And sometimes, sometimes that is true.
00:21:56.680 Sometimes they are 12-year-olds.
00:21:58.520 And so their parents are making them get an abortion.
00:22:00.820 Sometimes they have special needs.
00:22:02.580 And someone in their life is making them get an abortion.
00:22:04.920 Some, sometimes maybe they are totally and completely deceived and ignorant as to what
00:22:09.600 an abortion is.
00:22:10.380 Sometimes they are forced to do it by boyfriends or a pimp or someone, like I said, maybe their
00:22:16.560 parents.
00:22:17.420 Sometimes they're raped or exploited.
00:22:18.880 So they are victims.
00:22:20.260 And Planned Parenthood is happy, by the way, to cover up their abuse as long as they get
00:22:24.260 money from their abortions.
00:22:25.860 And so some women who get abortions are absolutely victims.
00:22:29.340 But, but we have to acknowledge that these are probably not the majority of cases.
00:22:35.640 Actually, I think we can safely say this is not the majority of cases.
00:22:39.100 These, these scenarios of women being victims who are seeking abortions, the majority of women
00:22:45.060 who get abortions likely know exactly what they're doing.
00:22:48.780 Many of them see the baby on the ultrasound.
00:22:51.200 They hear the heartbeat.
00:22:52.640 Some of them even get to the point of feeling the baby kick and they still have abortions.
00:22:57.380 This is actually fairly common.
00:22:59.340 I see these kinds of tweets consistently.
00:23:02.360 We see the joking about abortion on Twitter.
00:23:05.580 There are organizations like Shout Your Abortion that seek to make abortion seem normal and even
00:23:11.220 moral.
00:23:11.780 There was a New Yorker article several years ago saying that abortion is a moral good.
00:23:16.300 I testified in Congress, in the House of Representatives with an abortionist from St.
00:23:22.160 Louis who said that abortion is a moral good.
00:23:24.820 That may not be at least explicitly the majority view on the side of those who say that they're
00:23:30.180 for legal abortion.
00:23:31.160 But this absolutely is a common view.
00:23:34.280 And those who say that it's not, who say that there's no such thing as being pro-abortion,
00:23:39.280 they are either lying or deceived.
00:23:41.740 They are either deceiving or are deceived themselves or both.
00:23:45.660 There are women who are pro-abortion.
00:23:48.720 There are women who get abortions and are not helpless victims.
00:23:52.440 They were not forced.
00:23:53.720 They were not pressured.
00:23:55.120 They were not even particularly desperate.
00:23:57.580 They weren't ignorant of what they're doing.
00:23:59.640 There are many who do not feel guilt, who do not feel a secret sadness.
00:24:03.460 They know that she's a human and they ended her life anyway.
00:24:08.100 We have to grapple with this reality.
00:24:10.380 This reality that in so many ways, the world and even we as Christians often cannot bring
00:24:15.020 ourselves to recognize that women are sinners.
00:24:19.240 Just like men, we have the same capacity for sin.
00:24:22.220 We have responsibility for sin.
00:24:24.020 Our hearts are just as inclined toward evil.
00:24:26.000 Our main problem as women, contrary to popular opinion, is not the patriarchy or unrealistic
00:24:33.120 body standards or capitalism or even Planned Parenthood or any system or institution.
00:24:39.040 Our main problem as women is that without Christ, we are dead in our sin.
00:24:44.620 Our hearts are sick.
00:24:45.760 They're desperately wicked.
00:24:47.080 That left to our own fleshly devices, we will lie, we will cheat, and we will kill to
00:24:51.720 serve ourselves.
00:24:53.280 We do women a disservice.
00:24:54.540 When we regard them like children, when we pretend that they bear no responsibility for
00:25:00.540 their actions, that they don't deserve accountability, and more than that, we perpetuate injustice,
00:25:06.280 it is unjust not to place responsibility on women for the choices that they knowingly make.
00:25:11.560 And even more deeply than that, when we depict women as helpless victims, even when they're
00:25:16.960 not, we rob them of the truth of the gospel, which says that we are sinners and we bear the
00:25:22.980 weight of our sin, and we need Jesus to save us from it.
00:25:25.940 A woman will not seek forgiveness and redemption if she doesn't think there's anything of which
00:25:31.660 she needs to be forgiven or from which she needs to be redeemed.
00:25:34.440 It is not loving to talk about women who seek abortions as if they are all helpless victims.
00:25:40.480 It's not loving toward the baby who actually is the innocent victim and deserves justice.
00:25:45.780 That means in some cases, women should share legal responsibility depending on her age, mental
00:25:54.420 capacity, her culpability, whether she was forced or not, the circumstances surrounding the abortion,
00:26:00.680 how old was the baby?
00:26:01.900 All of these things have always gone into judicial decisions about who bears responsibility for
00:26:08.340 the taking of a person's life.
00:26:09.940 Now, these women are not the ones committing the murder when they are seeking abortions,
00:26:14.360 but they are many times knowingly complicit and are paying for it.
00:26:18.020 Therefore, I mean, I'm not talking about life in prison.
00:26:21.320 I'm not talking about the death penalty.
00:26:23.420 But shouldn't hiring a hitman to kill a human being bring with it a legal consequence?
00:26:29.880 Like, isn't that justice if we truly believe that the baby in the womb is a human, as we
00:26:34.260 pro-lifers are always saying that she is?
00:26:36.580 It is also lying to say that they're all victims.
00:26:40.980 And lying is not love.
00:26:42.200 The truth is they will have to answer for those abortions one day.
00:26:46.040 And what we want is for them on that day to be covered by the blood of Christ.
00:26:51.660 And in order for them to be covered by God's grace, they have to know that they need it
00:26:56.360 today.
00:26:57.220 And for them to know that they need God's grace, they have to know why.
00:27:00.960 They have to know that they, like all of us, have sinned and fallen short of the glory
00:27:05.560 of God.
00:27:06.800 I have talked to women who have had abortions.
00:27:09.400 I have cried with them.
00:27:10.500 I have talked to women who are considering abortions.
00:27:13.380 Women who have been surprised by pregnancies when they feel like they can't make ends meet.
00:27:19.260 They are kind women.
00:27:20.540 Their stories have brought me to tears and have made me praise God for his mercy and his forgiveness
00:27:25.900 that he can use what Satan means for evil for his glory and our good.
00:27:31.260 These women deserve our compassion.
00:27:33.500 They deserve our love.
00:27:34.600 They deserve our listening ear, our prayers, our resources.
00:27:39.060 We should be doing everything we can to meet the needs of women who are pregnant and to
00:27:43.920 help their families.
00:27:45.140 We should greet them with open arms.
00:27:47.020 We should do what pro-lifers have been doing for decades, and that is loving them and caring
00:27:51.900 for them.
00:27:52.320 What the church has been doing thousands of years, which is to be a refuge for the most
00:27:56.280 vulnerable.
00:27:56.740 All of this while knowing that the nature of the human heart is evil and facing the tough
00:28:05.480 reality that, as Romans 121 says, the non-believers' thinking becomes futile and their foolish hearts
00:28:11.420 become darkened and calloused and conscious evil decisions are made.
00:28:16.800 Women are also capable of that.
00:28:19.760 We cannot fight what is ultimately a spiritual battle against abortion if we are not willing
00:28:26.080 to face the spiritual reality that women are sinners too.
00:28:29.600 Satan would love nothing more than for us to think otherwise.
00:28:33.260 That women have no responsibility and no agency, and therefore, they don't need forgiveness
00:28:38.280 of sins.
00:28:39.060 Therefore, they don't need accountability.
00:28:40.800 Therefore, they don't bear any culpability or responsibility.
00:28:44.540 He will convince a woman that nothing is really her fault all the way to hell.
00:28:49.100 And so let us say in justice, in truth, and in love, yes, for the baby and for the woman,
00:28:54.900 not on our watch.
00:28:56.620 This is speaking the truth in love.
00:28:58.560 And I just think that we as pro-lifers, as compassionate and as gentle and as loving as
00:29:03.600 we rightly want to be, cannot forsake truth and justice and realize that not all women
00:29:09.460 who get abortions are victims.
00:29:11.340 Many of them know exactly, exactly what they're doing.
00:29:14.960 And I think we should change our rhetoric and change our perspective a little bit in recognizing
00:29:22.600 that and realizing that truth and talking about that truth.
00:29:27.680 I think that we give women a cover when we pretend like they are not actually responsible
00:29:33.820 for their actions.
00:29:35.180 As I said, many women who seek abortions are victims in many ways, but many are not.
00:29:40.620 And let us recognize their capacity for wickedness and to choose evil things.
00:29:47.880 And let us also let us use that truth to bring us and to bring them to the realization that
00:29:54.680 they are in need of forgiveness and a savior.
00:30:08.520 All right, guys, that is really all we have time to spend, to really discuss today.
00:30:14.900 There were so many other stories that I wanted to talk about, but we have to close this out.
00:30:19.380 We have amazing conversations coming up for the rest of the week.
00:30:24.040 Wednesday, you are absolutely going to love it.
00:30:27.360 We are having a conversation with the host of the Cultish podcast because it is episode
00:30:32.600 666.
00:30:34.840 And we are going to be talking about the occult, demonic activity, demonic possession, demonic
00:30:39.740 oppression.
00:30:40.960 How much stock should we put into the signs and the symbols that people are always seeking
00:30:45.660 out among celebrities and music videos and in books and even on kids' toys and promoted
00:30:51.640 by brands and things like that?
00:30:53.220 You're going to love it.
00:30:54.180 It is, in some ways, a disturbing conversation because these things are real.
00:30:58.900 But these guys do such a good job in bringing it back to the light and the truth and the
00:31:04.160 goodness of the gospel and equipping and empowering us as Christians to be able to confront
00:31:08.720 the evil works of darkness in a way that is discerning, in a way that is grounded in God's
00:31:15.560 truth.
00:31:15.920 So that's Wednesday.
00:31:17.340 Tomorrow, we're going to talk about the failings of the criminal justice system with an expert
00:31:22.740 on that.
00:31:23.340 That's also a great conversation.
00:31:25.560 And then on Thursday, we've got an amazing, amazing discussion with a detransitioner.
00:31:31.420 So she transitioned as a teenager, detransitioned quickly after that.
00:31:36.060 And in the midst of that, God saved her life.
00:31:38.200 You are going to get so much out of that.
00:31:40.540 So I'm really excited for the conversations that we are having this week.
00:31:44.700 Thank you guys so much for listening.
