00:00:00.280 Look, man, conservatives, they just want to be left alone.
00:00:03.740 They have families, jobs, churches, hobbies.
00:00:06.740 They love their country, but they stay busy and comfortable.
00:00:10.280 Politics feels like something for other people, activists, ideologues, and the perpetually
00:00:14.640 aggrieved.
00:00:15.660 The left may dream of tearing the system down in a fiery Marxist revolution, but like one
00:00:20.700 solid vote every couple years or so should keep the crazies at bay, right?
00:00:24.600 Then it's back to work, you know, Little League, barbecue, all that stuff.
00:00:27.920 That belief sustained many on the right for decades, but it's become a liability.
00:00:33.220 The Sunshine Conservative lives under the assumption that the American system more or less runs
00:00:37.520 itself, that excesses can be corrected with minimal effort, and that power remains constrained
00:00:42.740 by shared norms.
00:00:44.300 Those assumptions no longer hold.
00:00:46.580 The times that try men's souls have returned, and the Sunshine Conservative is about to discover
00:00:51.420 that comfort carries a cost.
00:00:53.520 For years, a bipartisan consensus reshaped the country through mass immigration.
00:00:58.820 Call it a conspiracy if you like, but incentives explain it much better.
00:01:03.020 Democrats saw a reliable path to permanent power.
00:01:06.400 Immigrants arrive without wealth, social capital, or political leverage. 1.00
00:01:10.260 They gravitate towards the party that promises them redistribution and protection.
00:01:14.680 Every program, from healthcare, housing, loans, benefits, it all tilts towards newcomers. 1.00
00:01:20.100 Open borders grow government, entrench dependency, and expand the progressive patronage machine.
00:01:26.760 Republican incentives look different, but prove just as corrosive.
00:01:30.600 Conservative voters opposed mass immigration, legal and illegal, but party leadership feared
00:01:35.700 one thing above all else, being called racist.
00:01:39.860 Progressive programming successfully framed the idea of America as a homeland, run for the benefit
00:01:45.020 of its, you know, own people, as morally suspect.
00:01:48.220 Any attempt to articulate national interest became nativism, as if there was something immoral about a
00:01:54.400 country caring about its native population.
00:01:57.640 Chamber of Commerce's Republicans exploited that fear, importing millions of workers willing to accept
00:02:02.580 suppressed wages while silencing critics through ritual denunciation.
00:02:07.060 While the country changed, conservatives largely stood aside.
00:02:10.920 The transformation unsettled them, but lawn care got cheaper and food delivery became faster.
00:02:16.360 The Sunshine Conservative preferred comfort to confrontation.
00:02:19.900 Political activism is vulgar.
00:02:21.960 You know, winners, after all, they make money and just buy a bunch of boats.
00:02:26.080 Well, now the bill for that detached attitude is coming due.
00:02:29.920 Human trafficking, drug flows, violent crime, overcrowded hospitals, stagnant wages, exploding
00:02:35.840 housing costs.
00:02:36.760 The social fabric frays under the weight of policies designed to benefit elites while disciplining
00:02:42.300 everyone else.
00:02:44.080 The Trump administration's effort to remove the worst offenders collides with a system
00:02:48.800 addicted to inflow.
00:02:50.460 Obvious solutions exist, of course, employer enforcement, e-verify, ending the H-1B scam, 0.93
00:02:56.560 taxing remittances heavily, but those measures threaten donor interests.
00:03:00.940 Instead, enforcement proceeds piecemeal, state by state, criminal by criminal.
00:03:05.320 Each attempt to exercise authority triggers panic among mainstream conservatives.
00:03:10.600 They fret about the optics.
00:03:12.140 They warn about the norms.
00:03:13.720 They clutch abstractions while the left shoots at or runs over federal agents, storms churches,
00:03:19.300 and treats public order as optional.
00:03:22.000 Establishment voices agonize over power, even as their opponents wield it without hesitation.
00:03:26.860 Investing is all about the future.
00:03:29.760 So, what do you think is going to happen?
00:03:31.680 Bitcoin is sort of inevitable at this point.
00:03:34.200 I think it would come down to precious metals.
00:03:36.780 I hope we don't go cashless.
00:03:38.880 I would say land is a safe investment.
00:03:41.480 Technology, companies.
00:03:42.600 Solar energy.
00:03:43.640 Robotic pollinators might be a thing. 1.00
00:03:46.000 A wrestler to face a robot.
00:03:47.920 That will have to happen.
00:03:49.500 So, whatever you think is going to happen in the future, you can invest in it at Wealthsimple.
00:03:55.240 Start now at Wealthsimple.com.
00:03:57.820 A friend of mine returned from the global war on terror with what the doctors labeled as post-traumatic stress disorder.
00:04:04.400 The diagnosis missed the point.
00:04:06.280 His trauma didn't come from violence alone.
00:04:08.580 It came from clarity.
00:04:09.680 He had lived in a world where stakes mattered, where power operated openly, where failure carried consequences.
00:04:17.480 Returning to a culture submerged in therapeutic language, pronouns, and safe spaces proved disorienting.
00:04:24.320 Everyone else lived in some fantasy and demanded that he play along with their delusions.
00:04:29.760 Eventually, he learned to keep that to himself, but he still regards much of what surrounds him as childish and unmoored from reality.
00:04:37.140 That reaction mirrors what many feel about sunshine conservatives.
00:04:42.040 They cling to a story about politics that bears no resemblance to how power actually functions.
00:04:48.360 When confronted with the evidence, they demand that reality conform to their narrative.
00:04:53.280 It never does.
00:04:54.560 That narrative existed to pacify them, to make them manageable.
00:04:58.980 They defend it with the same fervor with which the left defends its own delusions.
00:05:03.120 It's their version of, there are 207 genders.
00:05:07.140 But each crisis cracks the facade.
00:05:09.660 An assassination, a church invasion, a city surrendering to disorder, every time a few more conservatives realize the truth.
00:05:17.980 Only to be swarmed by those demanding a return to the small talk about tax rates and process.
00:05:23.960 Oh my gosh, the norms.
00:05:25.680 Can't you think about the norms?
00:05:27.060 What about the principles?
00:05:28.360 Oh no, we can't think about power.
00:05:30.320 It's got to be a small government, man.
00:05:32.660 We're just, you know, small government.
00:05:34.160 That's all that matters.
00:05:35.100 You don't want to be woke.
00:05:36.380 You don't want to be like the left.
00:05:38.000 We've heard it all before, but it's the same crabs in a bucket mentality.
00:05:41.600 No one's allowed to leave the reservation.
00:05:43.960 I mean, come on.
00:05:44.740 The problem was never with those that saw the danger.
00:05:47.240 They were warning people what was going on.
00:05:49.140 They knew what was going to happen.
00:05:50.560 That was not the issue.
00:05:52.060 The issue is with the people who insist, even up to now, after everything the left has done, after the shootings,
00:05:58.020 the murders, the attacks, they're still insisting that everyone just look away.
00:06:03.320 It's fine.
00:06:03.980 Everything's fine.
00:06:05.100 You just need a little constitution.
00:06:06.620 You'll just, you'll be fine.
00:06:07.580 It'll be okay.
00:06:08.260 Put a little constitution on it.
00:06:09.280 You'll wake up in the morning.
00:06:10.040 You'll feel great.
00:06:11.020 I'm sorry, but the question no longer concerns policy tweaks.
00:06:15.040 It concerns survival.
00:06:17.260 One side believes that the country deserves preservation and repair.
00:06:21.160 The other treats it as illegitimate and disposable.
00:06:24.760 That divide cannot be bridged by nostalgia or proceduralism.
00:06:29.840 The sunshine conservative era has ended.
00:06:32.780 Saving the country requires engagement, sacrifice, and the willingness to place political reality over personal comfort.
00:06:40.900 It requires choosing the future of one's children over quarterly returns.
00:06:45.580 It requires the disciplined use of power to defend the nation's institutions, borders, and communities.
00:06:53.560 Even when that makes polite society uncomfortable.
00:06:57.600 A single vote for president followed by a retreat to, I don't know, fantasy football and video games and Marvel movies and whatever trash we're filling our time with, it just no longer suffices.
00:07:09.300 And look, I know that's not all conservatives are doing.
00:07:11.620 Like I said, they're busy with families.
00:07:13.100 They're busy running businesses.
00:07:14.180 They're actually volunteering at the church and everything else.
00:07:17.280 And that's great.
00:07:18.040 That's good.
00:07:19.000 You have to continue to do that stuff.
00:07:20.620 But you've also got to be politically engaged.
00:07:23.220 Just saying, oh, I'm sorry.
00:07:24.320 I can't do that.
00:07:24.920 I've got to work.
00:07:25.700 I'm busy.
00:07:26.220 I've got a family is no longer an excuse.
00:07:29.080 We are looking at the future of the nation and whether it has one at all.
00:07:33.180 Simply saying, I'm sorry.
00:07:34.600 I was busy.
00:07:35.820 I just want to grill.
00:07:36.980 I just want to be left alone.
00:07:38.440 It's no longer enough.
00:07:39.440 The fantasy that voting alone is enough belongs with all the other comforting lies in the trash.
00:07:45.980 The right can either shed it or it can be ruled by those who never believed it in the first place.
